By far the worst professor I have ever taken in my academic career. She is incomprehensible when giving assignments. No clear objectives in her class and relies heavily on you reading the textbook at home. She has you come to class just to hear herself talk about her life and what she finds interesting. I would run as far away as possible from her

i took a chance with this teacher, not someone you want teaching you something new. as everyone else said, stay away from this one. you basiclly teach yourself from the book and there are many pointless papers to write. if you want a difficult and not so clear class. here you go

Read enough of the book to regurgitate vocab words, and you've won half the battle. Be prepared to be tested BEFORE discussions, which tend to go on whimsical tangents. Good luck acing written assignments, though--while Ms. Walls is a charismatic and articulate lecturer, she's terrible when it comes to clarifying criteria. Do not want.

Avoid her like the plague! she's terrible at her work and is not worth taking a class with. she's very confusing and will spend the whole class time talking about one subject instead of the actual chapter. she is not helpful and can have a big attitude. take her class and you will regret it! (i recommend Doug Deisse, best teacher i have ever had!)

Honestly it wasn't what I expected, Celeste Walls is extremely manipulative, condescending, and cruel. She does not grade fairly, she over exaggerates during lectures, her instructions are confusing, and she is controlling. She is by far the worst instructor I have ever had in my college experience. Be careful, your grade will suffer severely!!!!!!

story of my life as a student in this class, first off avoid this professor, secondly she destroys your passion to learn, thirdly she think she is right and you are wrong, not to mention her absurd stories, and expects you to participate often in her stories, you will never earn full points in her class, expect a grade lower than what you expected.

I would like to call her every name in the book. Don't expect to ever really know what you're doing. Be ready to learn all the material on your own before it is ever discussed in class. Her lectures are usually all about her ridiculous life stories which hold little to no relevance to the chapter you're on. Find a different professor.

She goes off topic too much during lectures. Doesn't give clear instructions and explain assignments throughly. She uses block talk, meaning she leaves blanks in her sentences for you to fill in, so a class lecture could be quite awkward. I don't recommend this professor, if you are looking for a class to pass this is not a good one to take.

Long essays, reading, quizzes, group presentations, extra credit, and still her class is like trying to win the lottery. If a paper is worth 25 points, you're only going to get 10-15 points for it or less, and don't plagiarize cause she will check and fail you. Pros: Extra Credit. Cons: Not an wasy "A" you will have to work for it, unless you are just lazy. She assigns a lot of papers to write, and there are quizzes every week. Also, there is extensive reading assignments which will be discussed during her lectures. Don't miss class she will count that against your final grade.

She shared far too much information about her own life, including weekly updates about she plans to go to Spain for the summer. Worst of all, she habitually told the same stories again and again.

During lecture she asked a lot of questions and when people would answer she always twisted it so they were wrong even if they gave the right answer. Eventually everyone realized they could never be right so people stopped raising their hands. Then she would go for like five minutes saying, You can answer, I won't bite, I'm just a human, like you.

I never write reviews about any class. As I read some of the comments I realize that it is necessary to hold these instructors accountable. This instructor was the absolute worst. Teacher evaluations at the end of the course are a waste of time. The department chair does not care. At some point students will have to demand better instructors.

In my experience her class structure was completely confusing and disorganized. But i can only speak for myself. I do not grant myself on being the C type of student, but in particular to this class I could only produce A type work with a D type instructor. Truthfully speaking.

Better off taking an online course. She taught the class in a biased way subjecting her students to her way of thinking. She did not allow students to present their full intellectual thoughts, instead she rebuttalled any point(s) given. I get the feeling that she might have control issues.

Worst teacher ever. Even if you do all of the work, study, and meet with her, chances of getting an A are not good. Was told to reevaluate my straight A status. Thanks I did and dropped her class.

If this were an English class and I was an English major, then it would be logical. But this isn't an English class and I'm not an English major and she excludes everyone who disagrees with her from her evil idealistic views. She is not a friendly instructor, and very intimidating. I did not learn crap in this class. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

I have an excellent GPA and I normally do well in classes; especially COM classes. Professor Walls is a very nice lady but I have never met a tougher grader in my three years of college. She gives little notice about upcoming assignments, she makes assignments last minute and she is incredibly vague and unorganized with the instructions she gives.

Dr. Walls was an engaging teacher, using visual aids and illustrative stories. For a communications teacher, she was very uncommunicative and confusing about assignments. The group projects were abysmal, and students were held responsible for the performance of their entire group. She went off topic with politics and inappropriate personal stories.

almost like an online class where you do everything outside of class and go to class just to take a test. She does not go over 1% of useful material in class and expects lots of reading for each test, forget your straight A's with this professor.

She talks about things that have nothing to do what's on the test. Very disappointed I spent my money on a class when all I was doing was reading a book and barely getting by. She isnt worth the stress.

This professor is so caught up in talking that she forgets to finish the lesson. She will still test you on things that she hasn't even went over.

Awful ONLINE professor. The hw was based primarily on the literature. Discussion questions were literally from the book. I kept thinking it would've been cheaper to buy the book & just read it instead of wasting all that money. It was difficult to keep up with all the deadlines, & she was inflexible with late assignments, even during the pandemic.

She assigns 40+ assignments and they are worth 10pnts each to waste the maximum amount of time possible. She automatically locks all assignments at due date so that you cannot turn in late work. Had ADA Accommodation for extended due dates and she still wouldn't unlock assignments. Obv cares more about academia-snobbery than students' learning.

I took C. Walls for COM207 and COM110. She is the absolute worst professor I have had in my entire experience at GCC. if there are ANY other professors available to teach these classes, do yourself a favor and choose them instead. Unorganized, takes forever to grade, and inaccurate due dates are only the start of her negligence as a professor.

Terrible professor, Does not give extended work times for situations out of your control(some may agree with her), Made us watch an hour and half movie that was terrible called the crash and made us then write a paper on it taking up a ton of time i didn't have. VERY HEAVY ON GROUP WORK EVEN ONLINE. Would not recommend her course to anyone

Only been in this class for a week, but I can already tell it is not for me. within the first week the professor gave me 10 assignments each 45+ minutes long. It is a book heavy class; you will be left reading for the whole class and barely any actual teaching happens. You are better off just buying the book and not wasting the money on the class.

This professor was an absolute JOKE. You had to fight her constantly because her so-called "feedback" proved she wasn't even bothering to read what you wrote. Her feedback was like she just asked a robot to spit out some nonsense. Her assignments were full of errors! If she's going to grade harsh, she better get her own act together first!

It's ironic that she's a comms professor as she doesn't communicate very well. I wouldn't recommend taking her for anything. Her assignments were riddled with errors, unclear directions, and inaccurate due dates. She takes forever to grade which affects other assignments, her feedback is rude and harsh. This class is a massive waste of time.

30+ reviews are 1 star. Stay away from classes with her. It's almost impossible to get a response unless you ask for one in the subject line. It's in her syllabus. Her grading doesn't get done in a timely manner. It's hard to receive feedback because it's not where you think it would be. Even if you do exactly what she ask you will probably fail.
