Cezar is very effective in teaching one of the best classes offered at TTU this Fall.
Having him for MATH4000 Problem solving/Putnam Seminar. His lectures are great, very detailed, with notes posted online. Recommend for those who are planning to go to graduate school (especially in math)!
Cezar is a very good professor. I would recommend him for his problem solving course where he is incredibly competent, and does an amazing job of showing students material they have not seen before even from courses they have already taken. He would make a good professor for any algebra or analysis class as well. Nice, well-meaning individual.
I had him for the Putnam Seminar. His lectures are great and always fun to attend. This was by far my favorite math class that I have taken. He is very knowledgeable on the subject and explains the content very well.
Dr. Lupu was able to take an intimidating course like abstract algebra and make it more approachable. He was very accessible outside of class and truly wanted to see each student succeed. If you show up to class, show interest and actually try you should have no problems at all. Glad other students will have the opportunity to take him.
Dr. Lupu makes an intimidating class like abstract algebra more approachable. He is very accessible outside of class and has been more than happy to help strengthen my weak points. He wants to see his students succeed. If you really put forth the effort he will help you get there. I am glad other students will be able to experience this prof.
Took care of the class and made sure we were prepared for tests. Best professor I have had in a long time.
He's lectures were good to where you didn't need a textbook. Homework was a completion grade. Exams were like the homework. A student that made over a 100 on the exam was always discussed a lot which made the whole class look dumb.
He was the most amazing professor Ive taken at Texas Tech. He engages with the students, remembers everyones names. You have to really try to fail his classes.
Really amazing lecturer.
He seemed like a chill professor initially. He let homeworks be open till the last day of class but when it came to tests he would give the hardest exams. His notes and lectures are completely different from the exams. Dont make the mistake of taking this professor.
Professor Cezar Lupu is a great teacher! You can tell he is passionate about math and teaching. He approaches problems differently and breaks them down so it really helps you understand the material. He also goes out of his way to help his students be successful. I learned a lot this semester and would definitely take him again!
Seems like a really chill guy at first but don't let him deceive you. He makes the class very tedious and harder than it should be in my opinion. Gave us a take home exam that was harder than anything we had done in class and penalized us for going to the math center or posting on Chegg. Be aware of who you're taking.
Amazing professor. Every single day he brought positive energy into the room. His passion for the subject was contagious. He made me look forward to every single class. He makes a hard and boring class easy to understand and very interesting. I would recommend Professor Lupu to anybody who wishes to excel in a Linear Algebra class.
Good professor. Doesn't want students to simply memorize formulas, instead encourages students to think deeply about solving problems. Show up, take notes, understand the material and you will be fine. Skip class or cheat and you will have a hard time.
It should be impossible not to get an A in Cezars class. Not only are his lectures through and easy to understand but he gives so many extra credit opportunities that, if you put in any effort at all, youre guaranteed to pass. His test questions are more than fair but require actual thinking, not regurgitating formulas and methods.
This course is impossible to fail. He genuinely cares about the students learning the material instead of memorizing formulas. He holds review sessions before the exam & gives problems that will help to know how to do for the exam. Show up to class, take notes, dont cheat (dont post on chegg like he asked us not to do), and youll pass easily.
His lectures are detailed, he posts lectures online, and the exams are just like the lectures. He doesnt try to trick you, just challenges your critical thinking skills. However, you do have to put some sort of effort. If youre an engineer, take it online. Math major? Perfect for you. The only F's were from people who cheated on exams.
This is was one of the best courses I've taken at TTU in avery long time.
Cezar is one the best professor I have here at Texas Tech hands down. His goal is to get you to understand the proofs behind the material instead of purely memorizing the formulas (which helps later on). He is also hilarious in class and extremely helpful outside of class.
He was an amazing professor. Made sure the material was learned and understood not just memorized. He knows how to challenge his students.
Really an awesome class! Professor Lupu prepares students for the challenging problems of the Putnam exam. If you have a chance to sign up for this class in the Fall it's an amazing experience. One of the best classes I've taken at TTU and would highly recommend!
Putnam class - Although extremely proficient and confident at what he does, he will make a difficult of 5, a 3 for you. This class will challenge your math ability and improve your skills in a number of major areas. More than that, it challenges the way you think about problem-solving, which is perhaps the most valuable skill as a mathematician.
Great professor. I can honestly say he is one of the best professors I've taken during my time at Texas Tech, I've only been there for 2 years... but still he's great. He gave plenty of extra credit, was friendly in the class and in his office hours. He teaches more math courses which I won't take since I'm an engineer but I highly recommend him.
Amazing class. I would take any class if Cezar was teaching it.
Hes the best math professor Ive had here at Tech! He made understanding the concepts of linear algebra super easy. He always brought a good attitude to class. All of his lecture notes, past exams, reviews, etc. are all on his personal website so there was plenty of material given to succeed! H also gave multiple extra credit opportunities!!
Currently a senior at Texas Tech this is my last math class for a math minor. I highly recommend you take this class with this professor.
Fantastic professor, I wish he taught more classes that I needed.
I am very glad Cezar got to be one of my last professors at TTU. He genuinely cares about his students grades and health. He went out of his way to accommodate us during COVID-19 and it is greatly appreciated.
Dr. Lupu is the best math professor I have had at Texas Tech. He is not interested in his students regurgitating formulas, but rather cares they learn the information. I am lucky to have had him as a professor.
Cezar is a really good professor! I've taken a lot of math courses at Tech and he is one of the best. He really helps you understand the material and also gives opportunity for extra credit. During the Covid-19 crisis he did the best to provide support to his students. I would recommend Cezar to anyone. You have to try hard to fail this class.
Professor Lupu was an amazing professor that I would gladly take again. He made the class straightforward and also did not make us pay any money towards books or anything extra. Helped out so much. He makes the class very fun and entertaining:)
This is by far one of the most important professor at Texas Tech. Extremely talented at teaching.
He's the best lecturer I had at TTU by far..
Cool professor. Very chill and layback. He makes learning Math fun and not making you remember every formula like a robot.
Cezar was my very last professor at TTU! I graduated in May 2020, & it was thanks to him. Seriously, he was awesome! This is not an easy class, but he made it better for us. I took Math 4350 twice because it was difficult, & Math 4351 once because of Cezar! He gave great advice, knew everyones name & face! If you get the chance to take him, DO IT!
One of the best professors I have ever met in my life. He is extremely intellectual and passionate. I have enjoyed taking his class. His ability to convey the intuition behind the material is one of, if not, the best that I have seen at TTU.
I really liked this class! I took him for linear algebra and i recommend him for anyone taking him!! He gives a lot of extra credit and attendance is extra credit but go to class bc it will help!!! Go to class honestly and you will get an A
I feel Cezar is a very exigent teacher, and he pushed a lot for his students. His teaching methods are challenging and dynamic, but this experience has been incredibly valuable for me.
This guy was such an inspiration. I took multiple classes with Cezar and I must say he is one of the best teachers at Tech. Also, he excelled at teaching online via Zoom. Seriously, you cannot get any better than him.
I'm someone who doesn't have the easiest time in most math courses, but professor Lupu really shows that all it takes is a good teacher. He is very well spoken and can explain tough concepts very well. He really goes above and beyond for his students to make sure they're understanding the course material. Just listen in class and you will be fine.
Professor Lupu was a tremendous professor during the COVID-19 pandemic and was very understanding with his criteria. His lectures were very clear and in depth, as well as easy to follow along. He was always willing to answer questions during our classes and genuinely cared about his students.
Cezar is by far the best math professor I have had at Tech and that's coming from a Mechanical Engineering major. He cares about his students and hopes every one does well. He teaches math with a passion that makes it understandable to everyone. As long as you put in effort you will be more than fine!
Mr. Lupu is an awesome professor. His lectures are so fun and cares about the students. I would take his class again. His explanation of linear algebra made the class really easy.
Good class
Amazing Professor. I really enjoyed his class and his teaching style. You can tell he cares about his students and wants them to do well.
I'd recommend the professor be taken whenever possible. His teaching method and grading approach should be adopted by any and all professors who care about teaching.
Fantastic teacher and human being!
Gives lots of extra credit. Easy to get full credit on the homework. Just read his notes and never watched a lecture, but I got an A.
He put unbelievable amount of work (lecture notes, videos, etc) to teach this online class.
Cezar has a God given talent for teaching. Amazing lecturer for linear algebra!
THIS GUY IS AWESOME
He has the vibe of an Italian mobster, but he is a wiz at math. If you want to see Tony Montana in action teaching real analysis then this is your guy.
Cezar is doing a great job so far. I like how much work and dedication he puts into this class. He sends us his lecture notes and slides in advance to read and posts recorded videos afterwards. He is a very solid instructor for Calc 1.
I took his online course this fall 2020 semester which is the first semester in the wake of the pandemic. I did not enjoy his class. His lectures were posted on youtube and were asynchronous. This caused a multiple of questions and made problems for me. He did not go too much in depth on the videos either i felt. I would only take him IN PERSON.
Cezar put an incredible amount of work in this asynchronous class. He had lecture notes, slides and videos posted on YouTube which made the class enjoyable. Aside from that, he was very understanding with homework deadlines and organized review sessions before each exam. Great professor!
I feel that Cezar did a great job in teaching this online class. His dedication was absurd. The man did not stopped teaching not even when he had covid.
Amazing Prof
Putnam class with Dr. Lupu was the best class I have taken so far. I believe it gave me so much more knowledge in breadth math areas than any other class. It even helped me with my preparation for the math subject GRE. Also, the lectures were posted even after the end of the semester! Very well-organized and passionate professor. Inspiring!
Very likable and personable! Great professor!
The lectures are easy to understand and nothing is rushed.
He is one of the most dedicated and talented professors at Tech!
This is genuinely one of the best professors I have ever had. He teaches asynchronously with very thorough lecture videos, which he does his best to spice up and make enjoyable. Homework and tests are very easy if you actually keep up with the class. He offers A LOT of extra credit so you really have to try to fail. He truly wants you to succeed.
His Putnam class was from another world! Amazing lectures!
great prof, he teaches to where you can understand and you get a good amount of extra credit
He is just great! I don't think I have seen such an amazing teacher like him at TTU.
I took Cezar's Calc 1 class this smester! Although it was online, he is very good at explaining concepts and he genuinely wants you to succeed. I would defnitely take him again if I have the chance.
Cezar is the best! He is very pasionate about math and he cares a lot about his students. I could even say that a class with him in person would be amazing. In any case, overall is was a great course.
Cezar is a wonderful professor! It was nice to see how much he loves teaching. Also he offers plenty of opportunities for extra credit. Overall, great Calc 1 experience!
I cannot express enough how much I appreciate Cezar as an instructor. His outreach and his providing this knowledge is an incredible resource as a student. I believe that Cezar is a superb teacher. Any institution would be lucky to have instructors like him.
He is very open and friendly about trying to help us learn. Also, he seems extremely knowledgeable in the course matter. He genuinely wants students to understand the material especially in a problem solving class like Putnam.
Love this guy, easy to understand, clear about expectations and wants every student to succeed. His accent is pretty rad too ngl
This is guy is simply amazing! Very straightforward with explanations and everything. He makes the class very enjoyable. I feel lucky to have him as my Calc 1 instructor.
Cezar is a very inspirational teacher with great clarity and amazing teaching skills. He keeps the class alive with his spontaneity. He is very nice and understandng. The video lectures were really helpful and I learned a lot in his class.
Cezar is a great professor for this class, but he is also very tough with deadlines. I must say that his exams are not the easiest. His video lectures and lecture notes are very useful for preparing for exams.
Although I took cal 1 in high school this class did that plus more. Videos are extremely descriptive and Cezar is very available and helpful. Great Course!
Cezar is a great professor and a great man! His teaching style is simply amazing. I am really happy that I got to see the beauty of mathematics through solving some of the most difficult problems from different fields in the Putnam seminar.
I took MATH 4360-Foundations of algebra II with Cezar 3 years ago at Tech. I must say he was a lot better instructor than other math professors I have had in the past. He was very effective and constantly went over theorems and he refused to move on until everyone in the class understood the material. He made the material easy to learn.
Cezar is an amazing prof for Calc 1. I would not hesitate to take classes with him again. He is also very encouraging and you can tell he actually cares about his students. Great guy!
He was an amazing professor. There are plenty of opportunities for extra credit and ways to bring up your grade. Going to lectures helps a lot and he is extremely knowledgeable in the subject. I 110% would take this class again!
I dont think there is enough to express how great of a teacher Cezar is. He made a calculus class really enjoyable and it is sad to see that this was his last semester at Tech. He is 10/10 professor!
THE GOAT!
Loved his class and I believe did a great job teacing it. Also, I was amazed how much extra material was available for us and gave us multiple opportunities to improve our grade. Amazing professor!
Cezar is very smart and very likable. He maintained a very good environment and he was very much invested in how well I was doing in the class. He really wanted all of the students to do really well, and that's quite rare in many teachers in college. Wonderful guy!
He is an incredible prof that is really funny! His class was very entertaining and I loved his teaching style. I love him!
One of the top professors I have had in my entire undergraduate career. I feel lucky to have been able to take a linear algebra course with such an inspired individual. God bless this man!
This guy is straight up legend! Period.
