Do Not TAKE PSYCHOLOGICAL STATISTICS WITH HIM! !! he is a horrible teacher, he literally reads the really bad math book and doesn't give examples believe me, you will hate his class. I'm personally not great at math but I'm decent and hejust made everything so much harder than it needs to be. Lab mandatory n useless. No tutors for this class!
Doesn't give examples and labs are pointless. Moves too fast and is not clear on anything. Textbook is the worst textbook I have ever used. Dont take this with him.
He is a decent professor. If you ask questions after class or during office hours he is very helpful. In lecture, you can stop him and he will try his best to present the information in a different way. This is a difficult course and I am not very good at math so that made it even harder but he doesn't give a lot homework or tests.
class is hard, but professor is helpful and if you put the time in, you can do well
Not much help, just reads the textbook in front of the class, no tutoring was available and gives little to no examples, basically taught myself the whole semester
I would not recommend him. He is new to teaching. He basically reads the book out in slides in class. I had to teach myself on how to actually do the problems. However he is very nice and wants the students to succeed. He will get better after a year or two.
He was a horrible teacher. He was very nice and wants his students to succeed but he is of no help. He reads from the book and I had to hire a tutor and teach myself. Also the campus doesn't offer a tutor for this class. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!!
For the love of goodness do not take this class unless you are prepared to be stressed and teach yourself. I had to pay a tutor to barely get by in this class. He's a nice guy but can't teach. Also the college doesn't offer a tutor for this course so it's basically a nightmare. Don't take this class unless you like crying and pulling your hair out.
Hard class, but walks through example problems from text in every class. Very helpful prof if you are willing to work
Excellent prof, difficult material. If you willing to work hard youll do well.
Dr Dube is a great prof, clear and goes out of his way to help. There is no tutor like others are saying but this has nothing to do with the prof
never: took notes nor read the bk. I learned from khanacademy.org. 4 test, 9hws. labs aren't mandatory. Get a study group.plenty of excredit on tests.10 online excredit. my test scores 76,65,40,85 U could be pessimistic/optimistic its ur choice. I passed wit B,so could U.Dube helped in office a lot. what U put into it's what U get out of the class
I really enjoyed Prof. Dube. He made lectures interesting and was always in a good mood. He will do whatever he needs to make sure that you understand the material. Tests are easy, just study the powerpoints and use the study guides that he gives you and you can easily make an A!
he's a nice guy, it's really not that hard of a class and the tests are easy if you review the powerpoints. honestly he's a pushover and will help out easily.
He uses power points every class, most of them are really confusing. Sometimes does examples on board which are also really confusing. Only reason I go to class is for clicker questions. Tests are mostly word problems with absolutely no math, if you know vocab you should do well.
Power points galore. Kind of long lectures but a fair and decent professor as long as you don't mind power point and more power point and some clicker questions. Did I mention power point?
Professor Dube was an amazing professor! He was very patient and understanding with students. When it comes to grades he is very fair. The lectures are difficult so I would encourage attendance.
Excellent professor with a great sense of humor and rapport with the class. Fair grader and the workload of the class was an average amount. Very helpful and is always available to answer your questions.
This was my very first stats class and even with not doing two homework assignments, and getting a 68 and a 50 on the second and third test, I still passed with a B. Study the guides he gives for the exam, show up for iclicker questions and do the home works which are taken from the book. There's barely any math on the exams, mainly just concepts.
Super funny guy, very dorky. Stats is boring enough, but he tries really hard to make it less horrible and engages the class. Stats comes very easily to me, so the class was beyond easy, but it all depends on how you tackle the class. Show up for every class, clickers are required. Don't skip the lab. Doesn't do +- but does round up & extra credit
Obviously, like any math class, it builds, so if you skip out on even one lecture, you'll have a hard time catching up but Dube is pretty good at breaking down a complex problem or formula and has no problem repeating himself. He's dorky but in a funny way, you know what is expected of you and help is always there when you need it. would recommend.
I have really enjoyed Dr. Dube's class. Although statistics can be kind of dry, he does his best to make the class interesting. He's funny and he wants all of his students to fully understand the material. He is great about answering questions, he gives study guides for the tests, and he is a fair grader. I would take another class with him.
Best math professor I've ever had, very helpful and willing to answer any and all question. The tests are mostly conceptual and if there is any math he will give you all the information you will need including the equation. My favorite class of the entire semester!
He is a very good professor. Although psych stats may not be the most interesting or exciting class he is very engaging and he is also very funny. He desires for his students to succeed so if you need help with anything he will be there for you.
Dr. Dube is one of the best professors I've ever had. I had him for psych stats and I HATE statistics, but passed the class with an A all because of him. He has so much care and respect for each individual student. His lectures are clear and easy to follow and he would always re-explain something if a student was confused. Take him!!
Personable and respectful this guy engages his students and seems genuinely excited about teaching. I took a basic stats so the material didn't raise my pulse but it was a pleasure to show up to his lectures.
Chad is very knowledgeable about cognitive psychology and made it easier to understand the material. The tests are not easy, but the way the class is set up it encourages attendance and homework. I have averaged a C on the tests but since attendance and homework is factored in I have a B in the class. He is very understanding of students.
I took stats in high school, so I hardly learned new material until the last couple of weeks. Fairly easy, although sometimes the TAs and students explain things better. Clicker questions are graded, so you have to be there. Lab attendance is graded as well. Will try to help the best he can. Homework nearly every week.
AWESOME TEACHER! I'm terrible at math and he made everything so simple. Doesn't make the tests extremely complicated and they're more conceptual and definitions than actual math. Just show up to class, do the homework and you'll get an A. He even dropped our lowest homework grade and is extremely accommodating. Super friendly!
The class isn't super hard, but you should read the book and his slides are helpful. The only thing I could say is that he sometimes goes ahead of the power point and after a 10 minute of giving info, he says "buuuut you don't need it for the test, and you should just not think about it at all because you'll get confused." not something I like.
I haven't gotten a 100% on a math test since probably 4th grade. Dube is a great lecturer and spends lots of time on each concept and gives relevant homework and examples. The labs really help as well. Go to class, pay attention, and you should be fine. Don't be afraid to ask question, he'll never make you feel stupid.
I loved this professor and his way of grading helps those who are not very math oriented. The homework is not hard, but it is time consuming so prepare to spend over an hour on it. HW counts as quizzes, so take your time and always do them and even if you get straight Cs on exams(like me) you can still bring that grade up to a B. He also drops 1 hw
Dube is excellent at teaching, very clear and well structured lectures during which he takes time to answer questions. Very accessible during office hours and ready to help with any confusion while encouraging you to learn on your own.
Great professor that makes the lectures enjoyable and easy to understand.
Chad is a really nice guy, and better than most professors. Tests and homework are weighted equally, which is really nice. Homeworks can be really hard but the tests are pretty easy. He just actually considers how the students feel, and tries to make this class as tolerable as possible. I wouldn't want to take this class with anyone else.
Dr. Dube is the best math professor I've had. If you struggle with statistics, ATTEND CLASS AND PAY ATTENTION. Most of the exam questions (or very close to) are given in class. Dr. Dube does examples of every type of problem and will stop the lecture for questions (so ask them.) You need the textbook to do homework (miss 1 hw 2 letter grade drop)
Really nice professor. If you need help don't hesitate to ask, he won't make you feel stupid. I would take this professor again.
Chad is an amazing professor. He makes statistics so easy, just pay attention and you'll get a good grade. Hes hilarious and is always willing to help and answer questions even in a big lecture class. Love him. 10/10 would reccomend
You need the book for homework. WRITE DOWN EVERY CLICKER QUESTION AND ANSWER. Trust me. And study those before every test. Easy class if you just do the homework, show up for clicker points, and STUDY THE CLICKER QUESTIONS. If I could underline and bold those words I would. Keep your old tests and study them for final exam.
Professor Dube is great and really cares about you understanding the material. He is a great resource during his office hours for extra help. The class is not bad but it is math. There is homework every week but it is not that hard if you understand the topic. Tests can be tough but just study and you will be fine.
Professor Dube is a genuine guy and a fan of dad jokes. Attendance is mandatory because of clicker questions at the end of lecture. STUDY THE CLICKER QUESTIONS. The tests are multiple choice and based mostly on concepts with a few show your work calculations. He also gives extra credit through SONA. The book is required for homework.
As someone who struggles with any type of math, Dube's lectures made it easy for me to understand the material. If there was anything I needed help with, he would always be there to help no matter when. Definitely recommend to anyone taking Psych Stats.
I had him for Psych Stats and he was incredible, extremely kind and helpful, always replies to your emails and genuinely wants you to pass. He's hilarious and I would definitely take him again and all my friends say the same. The class itself however can be difficult.
Dr. Dube is really nice and takes time to talk about things and answer questions, he evens throws in some humor to lectures
Great professor overall. Explains everything clearly and is willing to help if you have questions. Most of the class is taking notes and then receiving homework which you have a week to complete. Study for the tests as usual. Uses book for homework and for review. Makes class interesting. uses clicker for participation so go to class.
Chad is the best for stats. Im horrible at math but I recieved a high grade in his class because hes really good at clearly explaining his topics. He never makes anyone feel dumb for asking questions; he encourages it. Attendance isnt necessarily mandatory but he does random pip quizzes with iclickers. Theres also weekly homework, but its easy
Dube is a good professor. I recommend him entirely. For a hard subject, he has ways of making it a little easier to understand. He is willing to help outside of class and he makes sure to take his time during the lectures so everyone understand s the subject.
He doesn't lecture well. He will speed over a topic then ask if you have questions and everyone doesn't even know what they don't know to ask. His study guides aren't helpful and he doesn't have practice problems. The homework and in class work are nothing like the tests and his TA doesn't really teach well either. Overall i recommend a tutor.
This is an excellent professor who makes the topic seem a lot easier. He explains things very clearly and makes lectures interesting. It is easy to get an A as long as you turn in homework and show up for quizzes.
Homework is graded for accuracy, you need to know what you're doing and show your work. He is so funny and helpful, ask questions, he'll gladly answer them. He takes it personally if you don't succeed, he'll do whatever he can to help you. I took it because I was required to, but you'll be fine if you ask questions, show up, and do the homework
Very good lecturer.
the homework is 40% of your grade and is graded difficulty by the TA. make sure you work hard on the homework or else it'll kill your grade. good lecturer, not very difficult tests. probably the best professor for psych stats, I definitely recommend him. Lab attendance is necessary. come to class or you won't do well.
an easy course if you pay attention in class bc he teaches exactly how he tests you. he focuses more on concepts than any actual math, so you just have to stick w/ him when he explains. there's homework but you have a whole week to complete it. extra credit opps too. you need the book for homework problems but I never needed it to study. take him!
Does not lecture very well. One of the worst math professors I've ever had. He's nice but horrible at teaching; he speeds through important topics and keeps asking the class "what's the next step" when clearly no one knows the answer. HW is 40% of your grade and is graded pretty harshly. The tests are ok and are multiple choice for the most part.
Dube makes stats easier than most other professors. Homework is straight from the textbook. He does provide extra credit opportunities, which is nice. I'm pretty sure he didn't do any grading but his TA is a tough grader. Pay attention to his lectures & take good notes, because looking back at the powerpoints from lecture won't make any sense.
Prof Dube is the best math professor at USF period. He really takes his time and breaks everything down so everyone can understand it. His teaching style is on point and he is also freaking hilarious!! I really looked forward to his class and was upset when we had to switch to online. I actually understand statistics and I got an A!! Take Dube!!!!!
Such a great guy! He genuinely understands that we are all learning and is attentive when questions are asked. You MUST show up to class and take A LOT of notes or you will never pass. He makes learning stats as easy as possible and the exams are easier than the homework. Homework is due every week & straight from the textbook. Has a Mandatory lab.
Prof. Dube is a great teacher, he really help you understand the course material while making it fun and extremely enjoyable the whole semester through. Great professor and would take his class again!
Professor Dube is my favorite professor thus far. I thought I was horrible at stats but with Dube's teaching I managed to get an A. He is a great lecturer and keeps the class interesting. When I wasn't able to take an exam due to personal matters, he was quick to respond and was extremely understanding. Best professor you could take for PSY3204!
Great lectures and super easy to follow, breaks down everything well and is slow. Dont worry if youre not good at math
Dr. Dube is a great professor and makes this subject as entertaining as possible online. He answers questions very thoroughly and makes sure everyone understands the concepts before moving on. The homework is time consuming. He uses funny examples.
Hes a good professor, but I dont like that your grade depends 50% on the homework and 50% on exams, I would have actually appreciated more options. The class content is heavy and the TA is the one that grades your homework and the rubric is not clear. Pay attention in class since the power points dont include everything he talks about.
I think that when it comes to taking statistics, Chad is a very good teacher. I think the lectures that he does are helpful, but sometimes they may feel boring. He does clicker questions and goes over questions thoroughly, so I would definitely attend class. He's funny and kind and truly cares. The lab for the class with the TA is helpful.
Dr. Dube is great. Lectures can move fast, but he'll always pause for questions. HW is hard and 40% of your grade,so my best advice is GO TO OFFICE HOURS!He's very encouraging and always willing to help. He instills confidence in you. Weekly homework except for exam weeks,iClicker qs in class. Exams are multiple choice, easy compared to the homework.
I LOVE professor Dube. I took him for stats and cognitive psych. He is so understanding and accommodating. That being said, this class is NOT an easy A, you have to study the lectures for the exams to pass the class. He does SONA extra credit and honestly I didnt use the textbook that much. He offered a virtual option for covid related issues.
He is a great professor in my opinion. One of the best math professors I've had. He teaches you everything you need to know for the exams. Worst part of the class is homework which takes about 2 hours to complete but you have a whole week to do it. If you know how to do the homework then you will get an A on the exam. Exams are not tricky.
Dr Dube was great! He and the TA were very accessible. They tell you everything you need to know and break it down. Its important to pay attention and take notes during lectures
Dr. Dube is the most average professor ever. Lectures are boring, the wording on some test questions is very unclear, but he is open to student's questions about the material. He is obsessed with in-person attendance and will NOT give you the link to the Teams meeting unless you have a "COVID concern".
If you are interested in a math class where the professor drones on about the subject matter, then boy oh boy, do I have the class for you! For the record, professor Dube is friendly, and I have no ill will towards him. However, the lectures are incredibly boring, and it is difficult to remain attentive. Moreover, they are mandatory.
Dr. Dube is so caring, he really wants to make sure everyone understands the content. He is always open to questions and encourages students to speak up if they dont understand something... he will always explain it a different way. Exams were easy and homework prepared you well!
He's simply the best professor I could have asked for. Despite having cried in multiple math classes before, Dr. Dube made it make sense on this one. He focuses on the concepts of the whole thing and doesn't give busy work (like memorizing formulas or doing ridiculously long calculations). Still, he teaches you to know what you are doing. Go for it
Dr. Dube is a great professor to introduce you to statistics. He is truly passionate about the subject area and wants his students to succeed. He places a strong emphasis on understanding the concepts which is reflected in the exams. He's also very accessible after class and either him or the TA will get to you within 24-48 hours. Highly recommend!
If you are a poor test taker but good at homework, this is the class for you.
Professor Dube does not tolerate late work or absences. He will not be accommodating and he does not really seem to care about his students success. He is there to lecture and make his paycheck. For almost every question of the iclicker quizzes this semester, 30-75 percent of the class got them incorrect.
Some of the homework's are unreasonably difficult.
This class was not overly engaging for me as a psych major. Everything is graded by correctness. Each of the homework's are worth 100 points, tests are worth 20-25 points. Homework for this class can be time consuming. I received a 0 on one homework this semester for turning it in late and my grade dropped 8 percent. Don't do it to yourself.
This class was the one I was most worried about when entering, but it ended up being one of the easiest I had last semester. Just go to class and pay attention, you should have an A really easily because the tests were mostly conceptual with one or two math questions, and there was extra credit on the test.
He is good at his job especially prepping students for research methods and other conceptual research classes
Chad is a decent professor, may have to put in a good amount of work to understand some of the lessons. One homework each week except for test weeks. 4 exams but pretty easy if you pay attention in lecture and review iclicker. Dropped the lowest exam, homework, and iclicker grade. Attendance mandatory in lab, sometimes in lecture through iclicker.
I knew Dr. Dube 23 years ago when he was an undergraduate at Eastern Michigan University. He is perhaps even to this day the the brightest person and definitely the best musician I have ever known. Godspeed Chad, I have nothing but fond memories of jamming in out together back in Michigan. I was his student then and we were just kids the same age.
Dube is an awesome professor, you can clearly tell he knows a lot about statistics but tries to make his class entertaining as he knows math is boring. I definitely recommend attending every class as he does IClicker, but if you do, you're automatically guaranteed a B or higher on any exams. Totally awesome class! 10/10 recommend!
Really nice and funny guy, but lectures are super confusing. He talks so fast and rambles on about stuff that have nothing to do with stats sometimes. He'll get done explaining something for 10 minutes and I will still have no idea what he just said. I enjoyed his lectures though and learned from him.
I loved Chad he is such a funny guy and a caring professor. The class isn't hard if you show up, there was homework due once a week and 4 exams including the final. There is a textbook but he only uses it to give you homework problems so you can probably just have someone send a pic of the problems he assigns if you don't want to spend 100 dollars.
Professor is passionate about his work and relates to students, genuinely seems like a cool guy. Class is easy enough to do well in, just pay attention during lectures. About one homework assignment per week with iClicker questions in class. Exams are mainly multiple choice with 1-2 written response per. Lab feels a bit repetitive, but nice TAs!
Dr.Dube is by far the best math professor i've had. He is devoted to making sure students understand the course content by taking the time to answer any and every question. The TA grades HW and exams, but our TA was very good about knowing the course content and being available to students. Dr. Dube conveys the content thats easy to understand.
Always wants students to ask questions and tries his best to make sure everyone understands. Exams are usually easier than homeworks. Sometimes a bit confusing trying to go too indepth on topics or explains things out of order but overall a nice guy who knows what he's talking about.
I adored this professor all semester! He always seems so excited about stats even if the topic is literally so boring (which I find kinda inspiring). The style of the class was very simple and I never had to wonder what was expected of me. I would totally take his class again.
Attendance really matters. If you miss more than 2 lectures, each additional absence is 5% off your total grade. I went from a 95% to a 90% because of this.
The only reason I passed was because of the way he taught and how he was always helpful to answer questions before, during, and after class. If you pay attention and go to every lecture you will be fine. Asking questions helps you out a lot too..he encourages it.
Professor Dube was an outstanding teacher, I felt like I really learned a lot and it was clear he wanted his student to succeed. He provided extra credit and drops lowest quiz and homework assignments. Very thoroughly explains concepts and is always there to help. Textbook is accessible online, and Iclicker is needed. Also very funny :)
iClicker's important in this class and he only gave us around 30-45 seconds per question. His exams are not super difficult and he posts study guides that are useful. He gives weekly homework that is somewhat difficult and depending on the week was pretty long. Overall Chad was a good professor but he'd get distracted when lecturing and just yap
Amazing professor, helpful, and patient. I sometimes struggle w math/need to go through a concept multiple times to understand and this is exactly what the professor would do during office hours. Hw sometimes time consuming, overall easy & you get a whole week to work on it. Easy lab,Prioritize understanding concepts for test and not just formulas.
Social Stats is better, a much more manageable class. Chad Dube is an alright teacher, but I would not do this again. Most people seem to like him but the class was in depth, there is a lot of individual math that you will need to work on. Plus, if your schedule is not flexible for office hours you will never get the help you need.
Best professor for psych stats. If there is anything you don't understand, go to office hours and he will help you (along with TA during/after lab). Had a decent amount of homework, but you always had the opportunity to ask questions before submitting, giving you the chance to fix it. Do the work, study concept application and you will do good.
Lots of reading/watching lectures and the content was on the difficult side, but it was fascinating. It's obvious Professor Dube cares about what he's talking about and the students he teaches. Homework was due at 5 pm, which was annoying but easy enough. He was pretty chill and even adjusted one of the exams to give people more credit.
Do not take this as an online summer class. Hours of lectures, hundreds of textbook page, multiple assignments each week. Does not allow extensions under any circumstances. I was in the hospital for an emergency surgery, and he did not allow an extension. Test are hard, and he does not give you reviews. Do not take if you don't have to.
Do not take a summer class with this professor. He makes things unnecessarily difficult by making assignments due at 5pm and not giving us a review to study his exams (which aren't easy). I will commend him for curving our exam, but that wouldn't be necessary if he could write a proper exam in the first place.
Very kind and caring. He also explains the content in a way that's easy to understand. Sometimes he goes on little tangents but they're related to the lesson anyways. He both taught how to solve math questions and the meaning behind them/how to interpet them. Fun and easygoing class.
You won't have many assignments on this class. There is usually one homework due every week and 4 exams. Exams are multiple choice with 1-2 show your work questions; they are honestly easier that I thought they would be. He explains very well and his lectures are fun! Would 100% take again.
Honestly prob the easiest stats class. He makes a study guide for each exam, and the exams are pretty easy. Only downside is he doesn't respond to emails, and if he does it's like 2 weeks later. Still take the course tho.
He was okay. The class was very difficult. There's weekly homework that is extremely time consuming and the lectures don't help as much as they should. He can be boring but he makes some entertaining jokes as times. The exams weren't terrible, just study and they're doable.
He actually is so rude and if you want a professor to hear you out good luck. Easy class and he teaches good but doesn't care about you what so ever
Prof. Dube was one of the best teachers i've had at USF. He clearly cares. His lectures were informative but also entertaining and engaging. You will pass if you attend lectures and do the assignments. Completely recommend Prof. Dube.
Professor Dube is great - very helpful during office hours. Homework can be time-consuming but manageable if you stay on top of it. unstuck ai was super useful for practice questions.
Starting off I'm not a great math person but this class was pretty easy to grasp his lectures were pretty heavy so just make sure to take notes. He LOVES when people participate in class and ask questions. There is a weekly hw assignment just don't wait is not worth it doing it the night before. TA teaches lab/grades assignments/test takes a while.
The professor was nice and entertaining. I rarely went to class or the labs, and I still passed. The important thing is DO THE HOMEWORK.
This class was already tough, but Dr. Dube made it worse. A power outage cancelled the first day, so we covered the syllabus on Zoom, yet he insisted that's why we were behind for the ENTIRE semester. We had assignments on things we hadn't learned yet, and the TA was overworked and hard to reach. He's smart, but not a good professor.
Dr. Dube was my other favorite professor this semester. While his homework was difficult at times, his exams were much easier and were mostly simple if you could get through the homework. He always answered questions in depth and was extremely kind and caring. The content was very similar to my AP Stats class, and I would recommend Dr. Dube too.
