Not a class to skip. The material is difficult, and the tests really make you apply everything you learn. However, he really tries to make everything clear to you and explain it well. My class was @ 9 am which is difficult for me to get up for, but he made it easier because he was really upbeat, and was always making us laugh. Great teacher.

Edwards was an awesome professor. He was hilarious and he applied specific examples for basically every concept that he was teaching to make it easier. The tests were difficult, but the class really makes you think. Very interesting. Great professor.

He is a very good guy and is willing to help you. Even though this class was at 9am, it wasn't bad, he is a funny guy that will get you laughing. The tests arn't that bad as long as you study. Be sure to go to class for the attendance points. They sure do add up at the end!

Good professor - he relates well to his students and tries to make sure all know the covered material. He's always available to answer questions and help students who don't understand. His tests are hard, so keep up with the reading material.

Fantastic teacher. Keeps things interesting by using personal experience or just really great stories. Likes to keep it light and easy in lecture and tests are not a problem because he gives you the info in advance. By far my favorite prof at Western!

Dr. Chad is great, his lectures are actually interesting and fairly easy to understand, especially if you print his prepared notes. Be sure to study for the tests, but they're not as hard as he says. I would highly advise taking this class with him if possible.

Chad is a good professor who knows his stuff. He is able to relate to the students and makes class interactive and personable. His tests this semester were all online-open note-open book, but they were still hard and in depth.He does have 10 assignments throughout the semester in class that basically act as attendence checks.Good teacher nice guy

Coming in as a Freshmen Dr. Edwards was how I had pictured my ideal prof. Class was tough and material would have been unbearable had he not been hilarious with his anecdotes and one liners. Walking into a class with blared music and a professor that made kids want to be there created a great "college vibe."

I was told this was supposed to be one of the harder communication classes, but it wasn't at all. Very fun class to go to, but it is important that you go in order to get the random attendance points. Tests aren't too bad since they're open book/open note and online.

The prof was entertaining. The course content was easy. If you think this course is tough, it's time to drop out of college. Edwards makes the easy stuff easier. The test are open book, google, notes. Just remember to attend class atleast 50%-60% of the time so you don't miss the in class assignments. Oops there went my A.

One of my top 2 greatest teachers since I've been to school. Coming in as a first semester freshman, he was the perfect teacher to have. Tests are hard and cover a lot of material, be sure to study though and you will be fine. Attendance is very important. He's very funny and clear. So persuasive that I changed my major to Comm. Due to him.

Amazing Prof! He should teach professors how to teach. Seriously, clone him to replace the rest of the faculty in Communication. He isn't bitter, old, nor political like any other prof in the department. Let him become the next dean.

This guy understands how young people want to be taught. The class is early and the tests are hard. Yet, I have found the class to be a great way to start the day. He's funny, up to date, and plays music to a montage of random facts before class starts to get your brain stimulated.

Chad is possibly the best professor in the universe. If you ever have a chance to take a class with him, DO IT. 560 is a difficult class and involves reading some intense articles but stick with it and it'll be well worth your efforts. A very memorable experience. I'm sad my minor is complete and I won't get to take another class with Chad.

This guy was my motivation to become a communications major! He uses real-life examples during lecture that are engaging and entertaining. Exams are kind of difficult, but he likes to challenges his students.

He's great, nice and keeps things moving and interesting. Sometimes I felt like he was just talking about of his ass, but I guess that's what COM is, right? I plan to be taking him again soon and I generally find enough wrong with a prof. to never talk to them again, so that's a good sign. He's worth taking. Just go to class and you're good.

I was a little speculative about the class, but Edwards is a really good teacher, it's lighthearted and a pretty easy class, but you can make it challenging if you wish..You can actually give some really cool speeches and we'll reward you for it. I recommend it for anyone looking for a speech credit

I am a very nervous public speaker, I was shaking, my voice cracked, and I almost pi**ed myself he understands and knows its not easy for everyone.

He is an overall nice and enjoyable professor. The class is not too hard. You will be using the book and attending the labs and lectures will be useful. The exams are moderately challenging.

His exams where waaaaayyy to hard for a 1000 course. For any level they were too hard. The teacher is cool though, very funny. But funny doesn't get me a passing grade. I have to take it over again.

LOVED this class. Edwards was really funny and interesting. I never missed a lecture. I didn't read much for the class,but as long as you know the material on study guides you'll be fine. TA's are great too. I got an A btw.

Dr. Chad is hilarious! Mondays were my favorite days thanks to lectures with him! There's no better way to start a Monday morning than blasting music before class, and being told to tweet during class. He's easily my favorite professor so far at WMU.

For a 1000 level class, it is pretty difficult, but Dr. Edwards is an amazing professor. He always blasts music before lecture and tells funny jokes. great class, I learned a lot. Easily one of my favorite professors at Western.

The main focus of this class are the two speeches you have to give, which are extremely over-hyped. You can use the book on all exams, but the exams are still tricky. The lectures are interesting, but sometimes hard to follow. Edwards makes sure to connect with his students, but does not cover most of the material on the tests.

Chad was a great teacher. He is very interested in the content he is teaching and he makes you feel the same way. If you go to class everyday and pay attention you will get an A.

Chad is not only a great guy who will go out of his way to help students but is also an amazing professor. His lectures elaborate on the material in the books to help you grasp the content but they are also memorable and enjoyable. He's a great guy and you should try to take courses with him and intern for him in the comm. robotics lab if you can.

I had him for COM 1000 and now for COM 2000. He makes communication theory (a boring topic) fun and really explains the material. I hope to take more of his classes.

I'd recommend Dr. Chad. The class is well structured and organized. Grading is done fairly inconsistently because some are put in immediately and others you have to wait on. Other than that, everything else is easy to follow and all you do is watch a video, read from the textbook, write a discussion post, and take a quiz. This class is a breeze.
