Nice smile, no substance. Might help if he had pro radio experience
Doesn't seem to know much about radio I feel like a victim of tenure.
Easily distracted, but good when teaching
Chad is extremely funny and helpful. He keeps you coming to class and is easy to talk to as well as easily accessible in his office.
Great Prof. He's very funny and makes class worth your time
He's the best
The classes are too easy. It seems as though students can get away with a good grade and not have to work for it. No Radio experience and relies upon students who work in the industry, too much.
Chad is the best teacher because he really tries to connect with the sudents.
Chad is the man. He is hot so he definitely deserves that chili pepper. He is approachable and easy to get along with. We all love Chad.
takes an easy subject and complicates it with his lectures. doesnt use real language. uses harder vocab, makes it hard to learn. tries to hard to fit in, cusses, and seems fake. not the best teacher if ya want to learn.
Grades Fairly, Really Helpful, Can Reach Him In His Office Late Into The Night, Nice Smile, Dresses Professionally, Take As Many Classes From Him As You Can!

Very cool, great personality, pretty easy. and yes hes one of the Hot teachers.
Prof. Glen is a good teacher. Although there might be a little bit of extra work, it is easy to ace his class as long as you do all the work. He is very clear and organized. It is easy to understand his lectures.
Extremely perceptive and gives excellent constructive criticism. He's straightforward in his demands and pretty flexible about them. Improvement is almost guaranteed as he notices everything about presentations and tells you what to work on. Funny and engaging speaker himself.. best speech class ever :)
SO HOTT!
Chad is one of the best teachers at Chabot. Sometimes he gives a lot of work but he is willing to help you at anytime. Communicating with him tru email is so convenient. He knows what he is teaching. You will not be bored in this class.
Great teacher, I took every class he taught.
A nice teacher, tries to hard to fit in. Doesn't return phone calls or emails on time. Does take time to talk with his students, keeps long hours in his office. It would help if he actually had experience in the field he is teaching, though.
Okay, it's been a while since I had a class with Chad, but it was still a blast.
CMG Is a good teacher and a GREAT person. He has bent over backwards to help me grow in the world of radio. He has alot of expirence and teaches what he has learned and knows about the business.
other than the 300q final..... Chad's the**** ~ he's a great teacher, he comes to every class with his lectures well prepared, so ur never stuck staring at a wall, he's funny and knows his**** :) and not a bad site either :P

He's smart, professional, caring, funny, cute with a great smile. Take his class. You'll learn a lot and see that smart can be sexy too.
Chad Mark Glen the man wit three first names but one of the very best teachers i ever had gave me a whole new respect for school and confidence in myself
This man is the BEST teacher for ANY communications course you take. Hands down, he will make SURE you understand the material AND make it interesting. Granted the power-point classes are slow at times, but when you take the courses that require you to ACTUALLY do things like speak on the radio or perform in front of a TV camera, it's so much fun. CHAD IS THE MAN!!!
He knows the people I want to know for a job. Does he really need to wear a suit every day?
he is really a cool guy. he takes the time to actually listens to his students and offer his help. isnt that what a teachers job is!!! he is fairly patient but can at times be moody. usually late to class also. but all in all he is a good teacher.
very helpful teacher, good structure, not a difficult class just alot of writing
He's a wonderful professor! Very clear in his instruction, very helpful and looks very professional to boot! Highly recommended!
WONDERFUL TEACHER!!!! I HIGHLY recommend mr. Glen ESP. if tv/radio broadcasting is your intended major/career. Very informative and helpful. You'll enjoy all of his classes. I did!
This instructor off da chain! Like, REAL TALK. He'll make the class heLLa fun. Interest in the course is just a bonus. But foe real, if u trynna take Mass Communications, this dude is off shizzle foe rizzle mah nizzle. YEEE!!
He's dynamic and laid back. He can go on when he talks. Don't be sensitive about his feedback or behavior. He means well. He makes a lot of jokes. He knows what he's talking about when he teaches this class.
THIS IS WHAT A PROFESSOR SHOULD BE! Chad has a way of engaging every single student in his class & keeps it fun while making us all feel capable of performing well and motivates all with painless critiquing. He is so animated and fun-loving, yet extremely professional. You'll love coming in to class! He's awesome, I'll miss his class!
He makes the class interesting and relates his industry experience to help us understand. If you don't participate in the class, of course someone could end up board. But I don't see how that would happen since Chad's so engaging. Oh yeah, he's cute too. Killer smile! :-)
He makes me want to go to this class during summer b/c I had fun in it. Textbook wasn't required to save us $ and the coursework was pretty easy, mostly revising speeches. He's lenient, all he expects is that you improve on your next speech. Highly recommended!
Chad is by far the best professor at Chabot. He's really intelligent, funny and does a fantastic job of teaching us students all at the same time. I actually enjoy attending his class more than any other class I've ever had. And he takes attendance so we can earn our participation points, it really helps! I believe he deserves a chili pepper =)
more like a cheasy used car sales man than a professional college instructor.if you are serious and want to learn the ins and outs of tv/radio industry dont take chads classes he focuses on fun and play too much.dont have expectations of learning what you need. his jokes are highly inapropriate.total waste of time and money.hes fake and shady
He's a great teacher! I learn a whole lot in his class!
He is a great professor! Highly recommended! He makes speaking in front of the class seem so much easiler than it really is. Since this was a summer class we had a week for each speech, it was a little work but its worth it to get it out the way.
Chad really knows how to keep it real, even though he's Mr. Suit & Tie, he's hella fly! He could be on TV. Chabot's lucky to have him teaching. His enthusiasm, constant smile, wicked sense of humour keep me learning and laughing every class! Take this man, you won't be sorry.
Since you have to take SPCH 1 anyway, take it w/ CMG. He's super clear of what he wants of you and how you can improve. Took a 6-week summer session; the lazies dropped quickly and the really diligent stayed. Chad is more a friend & facilitator than a teacher talking AT you. Best part: you not only learn from your teacher, but from your peers!
Prof. Chad is a great teacher. He cares about his students and helps us learn. I learned a lot. It's nice to a good looking man in a suit and tie. His beautiful smile lights up the room. TAKE HIS CLASS!
i agree that hes fake and shady i had him for 2 classes. didn't learn any thing bcs it was too easy automatic A.cant remember a thing bcs his teaching style didn't help retain any of it. he favors some over others. very low tech tv and radio equipment at chabot.Chad talks the talk but dosnt walk the walk.Take Jonston or Brad instead if ur serious
Really great professor. He is approachable, and easy to talk to when you need help, if you don't learn from him you will probably fail at life, and will help you learn if you really want it. Many times I stayed after class to get extra help or more info on a subject and he really made the effort to help me learn what I wanted.
He's one of the coolest teacher's I've had so far. He's very sweet when giving comments on the first speech. He knows how to make us feel confident. He's super funny, and most of the time he feels more like a peer than a professor, which, honestly, I thought it was cool. I recommend this teacher to anyone who's afraid of public speaking.
Class will never be boring with CMG as your teacher. He might push the limits sometimes but he's hilarious. His "quizzes" are more like tests but if you just study the lecture notes it's an easy A. His classes are a total experience, would definitely recommend.
Chad is a great teacher! I took his summer Mass Comm class trying to decide if that's what I wanted my major to be. I walked out the last day of that class knowing what I wanted my career to be thanks to him! He's SUPER funny and keeps class interesting. Even if mass comm isn't your major, I suggest taking his class.
Hands down the most interesting and fun teacher you will ever have. If you don't at least take one of his classes in your years at Chabot you are missing out big time.
This is one of thee BEST professors ever! You gotta love him! He is super funny and keeps class very interesting. He is very understanding and tries to help his students out the best way he can. I would definitely recommend him. If you take him in the summer (which I did) DO NOT buy the book. Get it on Link + and Hayward Public Library. TAKE THIS!!
I hate giving out speeches and this was one of my worst skills but after taking this class I am more confident then ever. Pro. Glen is very good at teaching and I am very glad I took his class. I enjoyed working on every single one of my speeches. All I can say is this professor is hilarious and is one of the best.
Took his mass communicatons class with no idea what I was getting into but left with a new outlook. He's a great teacher with high positive energy, always keeping the class engaged in discussions, and you can tell he has a passion for teaching which was a bonus.
This guy is absolutely amazing, no words can describe how helpful and friendly he is to all his classmates. Along with his optimistic character, he also has a goofy side which allows the entire class to get along with him right from the beginning. Don't overlook him!
Great teacher. Keeps you interested. Very informative and entertaining. You gotta take a class with him!
He is a great teacher. His class overall is easy, he never gives you homework and you can use notes on the quizzes and tests.
Great teacher, kind, caring, really funny and smart. He rocks a suit like a hot lawyer. Take him, you'll love him.
Took 6 weeks summer course.1 speech a week with no tests.Open to suggested topics offered by students.Descriptive with critiques that helps tremendously.Personable and approachable.Class was never dull and was entertaining while educational, it being in the evening, made it enjoyable to attend.Strongly recommend teacher!
Fun class and you learn interesting stuff. Prof. Glen's the kinda guy you'd like to hang out and get drinks with. He's single and hot too. Take a class with him, you won't regret it.
Good prof
This class is as easy or as challenging as you allow it to be depending on topics of your choice to write speeches on. He is extremely helpful and gives great useful feedback that when implemented can produce great results in classwork and your overall grade. Never a dull moment in class.Motivates the students to interact with one another as well.
Public speaking is a skill I lack and I am shy as well. I took Prf Glen during the summer and although it was fast paced and intense I never felt overwhelmed. We didnt have any quizzes, tests or hw just 1 speech a week which required research and, powerpoints and outlines. He gives great feedback and is extremely helpful. Must take him atleast once
I was originally dreading this class, especially since I took it in the summer... But I surprising had a great experience in this class. Professor Glen is very helpful and teaches every student differently based on what each individual needed help on. I felt very lucky to have had him, high recommend taking him if you attend Chabot.
Mr. Glen has to be one of the best teachers at Chabot. His teaching and passion for excellence is unmatched. Although most people fear public speaking, he breaks it down into manageable and understandable sections.
While not everyone is a fan of public speaking, he made sure no one was hyperventilating or anything. The feedback he provided for other students were not only beneficial for them, but one could take that into consideration for their own speech. There isn't much work to the class, just research for the upcoming speeches.
Outstanding professor! There really isn't anything else to say! Great class! Great students, great learning environment and Chad makes everyone in the class feel very comfortable! You will NOT regret taking him. Even if MCOM isn't your major, you should still take him. Awesome class! <3
his communication class is great. he is extremely funny and gives great feedback. great teacher, recommend this class
The best instructor for speech I've ever had, and definitely has a cool personality to keep everyone relaxed and comfortable as they make their speeches.
I was so afraid to take speech class but I had to. The first speech was really hard for me but Mr Glen made it fun and interesting. It was the best summer class ever and he was the best summer teacher ever. I miss that class
Great prof. You can tell he really loves teaching and his students. He takes the time to make sure the class understands the subjects. He's got a great sense of humor. You'll never be bored in his class.
This guy knows his stuff. he is why I got into radio. though we have limited lab hours he does all he can with extensions to help get things done. If you want a teacher who will help you but not baby you this is the man your looking for.
If you are a Mass communication student, You could not ask for a nicer teacher. I looked forward for his class every day I had it. Chad is funny, and he makes it easy for learning what needs to be learnt.
The best advice I can give you about this class is don't buy the required textbook, it's entirely useless. If you're too uncomfortable to go without, buy the 3rd edition, not 4th. The class is an easy A. Glen can be annoying and strange at times, but he's not the worst professor. If you take this class, I hope you like PowerPoint.
Professor Glen is so amazing, I don't even know where to begin! He's a very understanding teacher,he loves to help his students, unlike many professors-he emails students back asap, his tests are open notes,he curves your grade, and etc. If you're interested in broadcasting/radio/etc you should definitely get to know Mr.Glen and enroll to his classes!
I was really scared of this class at first but after a whiole it wasnt so bad. I got through it just fine by listening to her instructions and doing what she said in my speech
I took all My Mcom Classes with Chad, Mcom 50,56,58,59,40,41,42,43 & 44 I got an A in all classes but one where i got a B, the test are open book, but we go off power points more, If u participate in the class study the power points, also he plays a game where he give you ALL the answers on the finals. Study that and you will get an A Great Teacher
Great guy, actually the one who inspired me to take on Broadcasting and try it out as a career path. Very cool, funny, easy to work with.
just pure amazing teacher you could ever have
I always looked forward to going to his class. His lectures are interesting and hilarious. I'm definitely taking another class with Chad!
Chad loves to get to know his students. Makes lectures funny and makes me want to come to class. Does a cool jeapordy group game where he literally asks questions that are on the final. Open book quizzes. Just work hard an have fun in his classes and you will be fine.
Best professor ever! Take him. Without you knowing- he will make you a better speaker. His class is always fun. My favorite class. I would totally take him again.
Didn't cover material clearly. His expectations on speeches would change depending on the speaker. His feedback to speeches are inconsiderate at times. He needs improvement on his delivery to feedback.
AMAZING professor - hands down. For anyone that is dreading speech due to being really shy, he makes you feel really comfortable when giving your speech. Very funny and gives great feedback. I hate public speaking but taking this class really helped me overcome that fear. Take this class, you will not regret it.
He is a great person and teacher. I took his communications class this last summer, and it was harder because it went by a lot faster. I worked my butt off to get an A in his class, but for some reason, he put a B on my transcripts taking my 4.0 to a 3.93. So watch out for that because now I'm effing pissed
Took his class in the summer. I was really shy, but I got better at public speaking in his class. He loves simple, neat power points and grades on improvement. If you take his feedback and improve on your next speech, he will notice it. Like the last person said, I also clearly had an A, but he put a B on my transcript....
Pf. Glen is one of those professors who truly cares about his students & wants to see them do well. That being said he also expects his students to show up and put effort in. As long as you do that, and participate, you'll have no problem doing well. He's a bit strict on his PowerPoint expectations, but grades on effort/improvement w/ speeches.
Chad is a really cool teacher and gives awesome feedback in order to help you improve your speech and overall communication skills. He makes the classroom setting comfortable and everyone in the class is just as nervous as you so keep that in mind I don't like public speaking like everyone else but he made it as comfortable as he could for everyone
Amazing professor! He gives you encouraging feedbacks on how to improve your next speech. No exams just do your speech and outline and you'll be fine. Highly recommended! I'm less afraid of public speaking because of him. If I have known he was that amazing, I would have been dreading to take the class
Amazing professor! He gives you encouraging feedbacks on how to improve your next speech. No exams just do your speech and outline and you'll be fine. Highly recommended! I'm less afraid of public speaking because of him. If I have known he was that amazing, I would not have been dreading to take the class
I dropped out of other speech classes but on the first day of instruction he had a good sense of humor so I stayed and I'm so glad I did! Gives good feedback on what he wants in your speech. Bless him, I would not mind taking another class from him! All professors should be like him! I have less anxiety speaking in public all thanks to him
Chad Mark Glen is simply the man. He's a very helpful and positive professor. Hilarious and approachable, Chad creates a warm class environment. I felt obligated to write this because of how great of a professor he is. Really good at making people overcome the fear of public speaking. Easy A if you put forth the effort to speak.
Chad Glen was awesome. The class was not for me but, my first impression was that he was hilarious!! Seriously, he's extremely funny. Participation definitely matters and if you don't talk, he will put you on the spot but, he is very nice about it.
He lectures and puts his outlines on blackboard and all of his tests are based off of the outlines word for word sometimes! He's an amazing teacher and speaks to the students like actual people instead of idiots like some teachers do. He always makes class exciting and engaging.
Very Very nice teacher
The continuous support and advice I got from Professor Glen allowed me to push myself to be better and motivated me to come to class every day. After the 6 week course, I can confidently say I am better at speaking in public than before. I believe that "stepping out of one's comfort zone is the only way to grow as a person".
He is a descent person who adviced and encouraged people to communicate to the audience without being nervous. Very sophisticated and respectful professor who has a reputation of being a cool teacher.
Awesome teacher. Quizzes on every chapter, but are graded on a curve. Quizzes are open book, NOT open notes, I took notes in my book. Posts lecture outlines online, review them before the quiz. If you get A's on all quizzes you don't have to take the final. Participation matters so show up and speak up. Fun topics delivered in a fun relatable way.
He can be kind of OP but thats what makes him funny, I really enjoyed his class. I recommend getting the book because you can use it for quizzes and the final. There are a few assignments but they're pretty easy. As long as you do the assignment you'll get a good grade. His lectures are easy to follow.
I had Chad for MCOM 40+41, he honestly made my experience at Chabot the best! He is a professor who wants their students to pass! He's very understandable w/ his students, he lets you use the textbook on quizzes AND the final. Be sure to pay attention to the Final Review at the end of the semester, it's PRETTY familiar to the final.
I loved taking Professor Chads class. Hes very funny but serious when need be. He explains things thoroughly and is always open to answering any questions you might have. The speeches start out easy but get slightly more difficult as class goes on. He grades easy and always gives good feedback oh and always gets back to your emails quickly.
Easy teacher. All the quizzes are open book, but the questions he gives us are kind of confusing and worded a little weird. The criteria to pass this class is easy to accomplish
Overall, a solid professor. Clear grading criteria, well paced, fair amount of hw, gives good feedback, truly cares about his work/students. Willing to answer questions and work with you. There is one group presentation. I would take him again. I recommend!
I hated the quizzes and tests in this class. Some of the questions made no logical sense. The presentations are easy and some of the assignments are fine. The peer critiques are annoying and you should stay ahead of the class. He gives great feedback on your speeches. Sometimes the chapters in the textbook can be boring.
Professor Glen was amazing! The assignments were tough, but it had a fun prompt. He gives amazing feedback. I, personally, have gotten a lot less anxious speaking to people. Quizzes are pretty easy, too. Also, his jokes will makes the class a little less tense. I had a great experience.
Great professor! He makes the class fun and gives amazing feedback.
This was a class I looked forward to attending each week. Prof is so chill and a lenient grader. He is looking for improvement in your presentations, not perfection. There are only 4 presentations so once you finish the rest of the class is a breeze and just taking quizzes. absences reflect on your grade. Do the work and you'll pass.
Professor Glen is amazing, always willing to give his students extra feedback and takes time to make sure you are on the right track. 10/10 would recommend taking one of his courses!
Professor Glen is an amazing Communications instructor. He is very inspirational and his main goal is to make you a better public speaker/ more comfortable speaking to crowds. He is very understanding to students needs and personal lives. Highly recommend Professor Glen to anyone looking for a great communications instructor and experience.
I took this class in Summer 2018. I really enjoyed the lectures because the professor has an amazing personality. He would teach you what is needed for your essay and how to excel in the class. At home, you will complete the project and in person, you will present.
He is a very good professor, very kind and understanding. He was very lenient when it can to late assignments.
He was a good teacher, take him
Awesome Professor. Always enthusiastic about seeing students improve. Didn't care too much about COM1 at the start, but I actually ended up feeling more confident and had fun when giving public speeches. Gives great feedback and I appreciate that he is lenient when asking for deadline extensions. Lots of freedom for topic choices for your speeches.
Great teacher. Clear instructions. Lots of feedback on presentations.
I have social anxiety, this class was challenging as some of the presentations were group presentations. All my partners dropped out which I had to do alone. The professor gave great feedback on improving, but the group presentations killed my grade as doing both parts stressed me out to the point I found it hard to continue going to class.
This was my first in person class since Covid and I think it was an overall great experience. I was initially very nervous when giving my first speech but by my 5th one I gained the confidence with all the great feedback I would get from him and my classmates. If you have social anxiety, this professor is perfect for you.
Gives excellent feedback after speeches. You will be left knowing exactly what to improve on.
Was nervous b/c this is a speech class, but everyone was so nice that I felt better about giving speeches. Professor Glen is genuinely so kind and interesting to hear talk about his life- I'll never forget his class. Gives good feedback and genuinely wants to help you do your best. You have to do multiple speeches, but it is a speech class lol
One of the best professors at Chabot.
Funny guy. Good at what he does, clear criteria and easy assignments. Stay on top of speeches and you'll be fine. He makes the space comfortable to perform presentations and speeches. You'll only do bad if you're all anxious and shy and stuff.
Chad Glen is a wonderful professor--having taken a hybrid version of his class made it a bit more difficult, but nonetheless, his grading was clear and his feedback was very useful. I actually watched my classmates get better and better at doing their speeches as the semester went on... His Canvas set-up is weird, so maybe try in-person with him!
I took this class over the summer and I have to say Professor Glen is one of the best professors at Chabot. He gives excellent feedback on speeches which will give you a good idea what you need to improve on. I ended up improving more overtime and I have built up my skills in communication. I recommend taking him if you are taking communication.
I loved COMM1 because of Chad. He's an amazing teacher and wants you to succeed. His workload is not bad, there are around 5 presentations, weekly quizzes, and other projects. He is very fair when it comes to grading, and will give you great feedback. You need to attend class, or it will significantly affect your grade.
Professor Glen is a fantastic communications instructor. His grading is clear, feedback is super helpful, and he genuinely wants you to succeed. The class has multiple speeches, but using unstuck AI for study prep was a game changer alongside the free textbook.
I avoided taking COM because I am super anxious & introverted but let me tell you if you absolutely suck at public speaking take this class rn cause as long as you give your best effort you will pass he just cares about. I never thought I could pass even less with an A but here we are. Turn things in on time & do the all the speeches even if late.
Professor Glen cares about his students a lot and is very funny. Gives great feedback but is also kind of odd. He asks very personal questions to students after their speeches that they have to answer in front of the whole class. He'll also tear you a new one if your speech sucks. He's not trying to be mean tho, I think he just doesn't realize it.
Professor Glen did not do much teaching; most of the class consisted of listening to other students speak. You are usually only required to take notes on the speeches you are assigned. Most of the time, he just sits in the back and observes, but his requirements for each student seem to vary.
Professor was good, the course is just not interesting to me that much. There is a lot of work. Quizzes every Friday for 18 chapters. Powerpoints, and speech outlines are also assigned. For me personally it felt like a lot of work. Not my favorite course to take but the professor was good.
U read the chapters and are assinged a quiz weekly online on canvas. U are supposed to present 5 times he gives good constructive criticism, which allow u to learn as you go on. This was one of my favorite class and was a fun one to look foward to every week
I took this in the summer he was a good teacher makes you feel confident, you do 4 speeches in total, i'm not the best public speaker but he makes it not to nerve racking. Overall a really good teacher.
Great Professor. You need to be dressed up for speeches. Don't be late if you want an A. The grading and expectations are clear. Course has a heavy workload, but is manageable.
Prof Glen knows that Comm1 is a GE and nobody wants to give speeches. I did summer session, so it was 5 weeks instead of 18, we had speeches due every week. He's very kind in his critiques (gives relevant feedback yet also supportive).
He's a great professor, he will challenge you and try to get you out of your comfort zone. He is a nice, chill guy. You will do a lot of presentations and there's quizzes in canvas every week, but to be honest it's not a hard course as long as you don't procrastinate. He accepts late work but will take points off for every day it is late.
Professor Chad brings a great sense of humor to the classroom making the experience fun and memorable There are five speeches during the semester, and you need to complete each one to pass Hes supportive and wants every student to succeed so stay organized and dont put things off Attendance counts,so make sure you show up I'll really miss his class
