This was Professor Hugie's 1st semester teaching at UGA. Although the material itself is tough, he presents in an easier way to understand. He's accessible outside of class and gives opportunities for extra credit. Participation is not graded however you can tell he values it. You get out what you put into the class. Would definitely recommend!

Mr. Hugie is a great teacher. He always checks before we move on to the next chapter to make sure everyone understands. Participation is mandatory through the Top Hats we take. Tests are not easy, but that is usually the case with Accounting. Attend class and office hours. He will go above and beyond to make sure you understand.

He is new to UGA, but you would never guess. He is so caring for his students and really wants to make sure everyone understands every concept. The tests are very difficult still, but all the accounting classes follow the same tests for the most part. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HIS OFFICE HOURS, they really help. Chad Hugie is literally the best person I have ever met. He was so friendly and so willing to help outside of class. He walks through problems in class and in office hours in a clear and efficient way. He really tries to make an effort to connect with his students on a personal level and is very funny. This guy is adorable. He's so sweet and he loves cracking jokes. It's a hard class regardless of professor, but Hughie's personality softens the blow. Great professor and always ready to help in any way possible. Do not fall behind on your practice quizzes and be sure to review ALL of the chapter material provided on ELC. Reread the powerpoints, watch the practice videos, and do the additional practice problems. It's extremely fast-paced, so visit during office hours when you feel overwhelmed!

Professor Hugie actually cared if his students understood the material and was willing to work with you if you didn't. He posts losts of optional practice online (which was so helpful). My advice is to go to class and do all the practice problems before attempting the quizzes to get a good grade.

If you can get Hugie for 2102 take him! He's difficult per se, I gave it a 4 because the class can be a little difficult if you don't take it seriously. He's always there to help and takes extra measures to make sure all his students are accommodated. Really understanding guy, great teacher.

He is very nice and willing to help you if you are struggling. However, ACCT 2102 is a very hard class. I don't know if his lectures prepared us well enough for the tests. You definitely have to do LOTS of practice and know everything basically in order to do well. I would not take this class ever again, but he was a nice lecturer.

Professor Hugie is the absolute best!! The first test was challenging, but after office hours with Hugie I improved greatly on the second test! He responds to emails in seconds. Chad is in all honestly the best professor at UGA. In a department full of people who are less than desirable he is truly a diamond in the rough. Never regretted going to a class. I can't explain how much I love this professor. I hated 2101, but loved 2102 and can safely say it was because of Hugie. His lectures and practice directly translate to the tests. He explains things so well, posts video explanations of hard problems, and the homework is really useful. On top of that he's just a really sweet guy TAKE HIM!!

literally the best professor, i'm genuinely so sad i won't have class with him anymore. i suffered through acct 2101 so this class was a breath of fresh air in comparison. however, the exams are incredibly difficult and the class averages are also pretty low (60-70s). i don't think this is a reflection on hugie, though.

Hugie wants students to do well in this class. He has a very caring and compassionate attitude and was very understanding when I had a loss in the family. The department makes tests incredibly difficult, but I truly believe Hugie does what he can to prepare you. My only complaint is the quizzes, but if you email him he'll work you through them.

Professor Hugie is not the best at lectures in terms of helping you learn the material, but he is great about offering help on any practice questions. Class is supposed to be an easy A for accounting majors... it is a lot of work in terms of projects but the exams are super easy. He also offers a lot of help for the projects so it isn't horrible. Super nice guy who is very passionate about the course.

I honestly don't know how other reviews say they are getting A's. Some of the chapters are torture, and should be in 4000 level accounting classes. Professor Hugie is a nice guy and is your best option, and his lectures are enjoyable. But unless you spend 15 hours a week on this class or are naturally gifted at accounting somehow, good luck.

Chad is the best ACCT 2 professor to take. Very nice and respectable guy, does a great job at teaching the content. Be aware ACCT 2 has changed and is now managed by Christensen. A fair bit of work, but if you have skoolers you don't even need to go to class. There is Tophat for attendance though. Definitely take Chad, had highest test avgs.

Hugie is awesome! I think this semester was a little harder because they switched ciricculum but he was always mopre than willing to help.

After 5 semesters at UGA, he is the most caring professor for each student I've ever had. The class is harder with Christianson taking over but Hugie was so understanding and encouraging through the entire semester. He is a really gifted professor and has found his calling. Don't think twice, take him if you have the chance!!!!

In a class with each teacher having the same tests, Hugie prepares his students the best. He cares a lot about your understanding of the material and wants you to succeed. His lectures are clear, consistent and he gives excess workout problems allowing students to be able to see questions that are similar to the exams.

After having Christensen for Accounting 1, Hugie was a breath of fresh air. Always came to class with a smile and was ready to do whatever he could to help his students succeed. This class is obviously difficult but Professor Hugie made it much more bearable. Also the tophats were graded on completion so you didn't have to go to every class.

Professor Hugie is the best teacher for this class. He's very enthusiastic about the course and will help guide you with learning the material and what is on the exams. This class overall is difficult and you have to put in the time and effort to see the results that you want. I found this class easier than ACCT 2101, but that's just preference.

Hugie is very nice, funny guy, and is passionate about accounting but sometimes he would speed through lectures and it was hard to digest everything. If you try in the class though an A- or A is very doable but it is hard to focus sometimes because in my opinion accounting in general is boring but especially managerial accounting.

Hugie is a MUST take for ACCT2102. His class is clear and intentional. He helps the class prepare for the exams which are challenging but fair. The exams are very similar to the review and thanks to homework and the excel project, there was some cushion in your grade. He is my favorite professor at UGA so far.

If you can fit him into your schedule, take him 100%. So caring, explains things well, and accessible. Hardest part of the tests were conceptual questions, but truly not THAT bad. The one project took like 2 hours and was an easy 100

He's a good professor, but get skoolers...The practice exams are hard, and they do not give those until less than a week before the test. The powerpoints are "easy to understand" but hard to apply in tough questions on the tests. I would get ahead and nail down the concepts, especially the conceptual. You need to know how to tie things together.

Best professor for ACCT 2. He explained things in a way that I could easily understand. As someone who struggled in ACCT 1, Hugie made ACCT 2 so much easier. Tests are fair and very similar to the practice exams. He is very accessible and genuinely cares about his students. He will try his best to help you if you are struggling.

Hugie was amazing! I had him at 8 am and I still was willing to go to class everyday because it is worth it. His tests (when there was one) had a much lower curve than the other professor because his students did so much better just from his teaching. In my opinion this class is much harder than ACCT2101. He is really caring and a good lecturer. The tests do not have much of a curve if any. Similar layout of the class to accounting 1 but not as much extra credit offered. Attendance taken through top hat. A lot more conceptual aspects on the test rather than just problems.

He is a good professor, but for extra pratice and more step by step, I would get Skoolers as well. There are a lot of pratice problems. Make sure to do the Pratice Exams over and over and make sure to truly understand the material. He is easy to talk to. No curves or extra credits unfortunalty. I did a bit better in this class than ACCT2101

Accounting is HARD, especially 2102, but I think Hugie does his best to prepare us. Goes over a lot of example questions and always makes sure people can ask their questions. Approachable, honest and patient. I'd definitely recommend him especially if you're stressed about the class. Wishing the best to the next semester of 2102'ers :)

Hugie has been one of, if not my favorite professors so far at UGA. He always teaches kindly and has lighthearted jokes to keep you focused. The class itself can be daunting, and I recommend getting skoolers regardless, but Hugie does a great job teaching the concepts to you in lectures; more practice outside of class is needed to do well on exams.

He's great at lecturing and really funny. He actually cares about how you're doing with the content and will always answer questions the best he can. Get this guy, study, and just do your best. If you ever have questions or need to talk he's available.

Funny guy - ACCT 2 is super hard but thats not his fault, he makes it as easy as possible. Buy skoolers.

Chad Hugie makes the coursework more engaing and uses a plethra of examples in class that help you understand the content. I would take this professor if I had the option in all my classes.

HE IS THE BEST!!! He made the class engaged and cares for his students, the class itself just sucks. The department also changed the exam structure to all mcq which made the exams more difficult. Don't get behind with the material, skoolers helps with understanding too.

Super nice prof. Class isn't bad. He is a really good teacher and super easy to understand. The exams are HELL. Buy skoolers and seriously don't fall behind. Attendance is mandatory but he is really nice and tries his best to keep the class entertained. Take him if you can! He is also super easy to get a hold of and is willing to help out.

Hugie made time for students outside of class for office hours. He truly cares about his students, where he made sure we understood the tax perspective to affect us personally, not just for the class. The structure of the class includes 2 exams, 6 quizzes with one quiz we could drop. The homework had 2 chances and tax project was graded fairly.

He's the best, he cares about his students and tries his best to keep the class engaged. He goes over concepts super well, connecting challenging concept to real world applications to make them easier to grasp. 2102 is naturally super hard though, I found it SIGNIFICANTLY more challenging than 2101, but Hugie makes it easier. Take him :)

Prof. Hugie is the best! So sweet and funny, and very willing to help. He kept lectures entertaining. Concepts are challenging, but practicing and studying well are key. Prioritize understanding concepts over memorizing them. Would definitely recommend taking him for 2102!!

Incredible professor who has a natural gift for teaching. The content is different from ACCT2101, but easier IMO. If you did well in 2101, you will do great in 2102. Hugie is by far the best ACCT professor!

Great Professor. Cares for his students and tries his best to make sure you understand concepts. Exams were very difficult. MUCH harder and different than Acct 2101. I got an easy A in that class, but ended up with a C+ in this class.

Chad Hugie is the best. Hugie is an incredible teacher, explains material clearly, and makes tricky concepts much easier to grasp. He is funny, kind, and genuinely cares for his students. Super accessible outside of class. Also gives some extra credit opportunities. I wish he could teach every single class I ever take.

Hugie is one of th best professors I've ever had. Somehow made accounting interesting and cares immensely about all his students. Take him if possible
