Definately one of the most interesting lechurers ever; I recommend taking ANY class with Israelson.
I took the class in the summer and was not looking forward to it, but he made it very easy to understand and enjoyable.
THe greatest prof. I had just awesome.
He's one of the best.
Best history teacher that I have ever had. Interesting, witty, humorous guy and really cute. Test are really fair, they were essay most of the time and as long as you knew your stuff, you would do well on the exams. Don't miss, a lot happens in one day!
very good teacher. treats everyone fair and class is hard but if you study you will do fine.
A very good teacher! I took this as a summer class and he made it as bearable as possible. His tests are all essay and fairly difficult. Not the easiest class ever, but not the hardest.
For any history class, take Chad if possible.
Chad Israelson looks EXACTLY like Dave Matthews!!Beyond that, he is the coolest guy, by far, at RCTC. No one else teaches the classes he does, usually, but it won't be a chore to get thru his classes, no matter which one you are taking.
Good class. He helped me with homework and tests when I needed it, and is very understanding. Is a good teacher!
His class is a bit difficult, but his lectures are great! He's definitely one of the best history teachers.
His lectures are very interesting, and so are the videos he plays. He gives you the test questions like a week before the tests. The papers on the book kinda suck, but it's not all that hard and he grades them pretty easy. Funny and overall a good class.
Chad is the best teacher that I have had in my college career. His class does take some work, but I didn't mind the work because of the interesting material. Would and do recommend to any person that needs history credit, take it even if you don't- wonderful experience.
Chad is an awesome teacher. Especially his "History of Religion" class. It's great to have a young, knowledgeable teacher who can be fun and isn't afraid to be controversial. Plus, he's pretty easy on the eyes.
Hes great!
He's hot alright...and he teaches so well!
I loved this class. I wasn't even that interested in it in the beginning but I found that as I learned more it was so interesting. He is an excellent professor and teaches really well. He makes sure that everyone is following and will take the time if you need.
He really knows his history facts.
He is a well versed person. Knows what he is talking about in all his classes. His essay test are great. It makes you actually think and remember everything from class! Plus he will go over them before the test so you are guarenteed an A! Oh, yeah also very, very HOT, not a class to fall asleep in!! Too bad he's married!!
Chad is a fun teacher and i love when he does the rock and roll portion of the class. He knows way more about history then anyone ever should.
Knows alot of info. Not a boring class, his voice isn't monotone so you don't want to fall asleep. You can hear the excitement. He is an awsome teacher. Aced every class I've had with him but it did take some studying. And I gotta agree...he's hot.
GREAT TEACHER!!!! Makes lectures very interesting! would take his class again! History of Religion
I really like Chad as a teacher he is nice to look at for three hours strait, and also he is very helpful and accodimating. He cares about his students and you can see he is also passionate about his job by the way he lectures. He seems to remember what it is like to be a student. I would definately recommend him-even if you don't like history!
Great for lecture. History can be terribly dry, but he makes it interesting. Know your stuff for his tests. It's hard to get an A on his tests without getting a writer's cramp. I would take any other of his classes without a second thought.
Israelson is a wonderful teacher. He is highly entertaining, and I actually enjoy going to class. He makes history fascinating, and his tests are very easy if you prepare well. There are no extraneous assignments given, so the tests and quizzes are the only components of your grade in the class.
Extremely funny guy. The class was always entertained (usually at the expense of a stupid classmate, who didn't know they were stupid). The test questions are given out before the tests, study them and its really hard to fail.
Israelson is amazing i still cant say his name, he makes class fun and intersting. easy to learn. my major will have little to nothing to do with history and i reccomend this professor. tests however are a little difficault i dont like essay tests.
Chad is very clear and if you show up and read the textbook there is not reason not to get a good grade. Chad has a good sense of humor and is rather nice to look at.
chad is awsome. makes it easy to understand. tests can be hard but if you study you will have no problems. no papers or daily assignments. only lectures, quizes and tests.
A very fair teacher. His essay tests can be a bit tough - he isn't the easiest grader, but as long as you study and take good notes you'll do fine. Chad really makes lectures interesting and is quite entertaining/funny - not to mention, cute!
Read the textbook. Follow along in lectures. Try to contribute to discussion. You will have an easier time getting the grade if you prepare for the essays. He grades easier on the essays. Read the book before going to the lecture, and review before essays/pre-write the essays, and you will do just fine. Great guy overall! Made history fun!!!!
awesome teacher. took him for a summer class so it went super fast but even his 2.5 hr lecture was interesting. he was funny and a very fair grader. did not assign homework and only graded multiple choice quizzes and 2 essay tests. i would love to take a class with him again.
Honestly the best teacher I've had at RCTC. Not the easiest to get an A but if you put effort into it you shouldn't have too much of a problem. His lectures are very interesting and he makes class enjoyable. It's the one class I was actually kind of upset if I missed.
To do well you MUST come to class daily and read the text extensively. Essays must be extremely detailed and thorough to get an "A." Good professor, knows subject matter well. Seems willing to help students struggling in the class. Grade is only made up of four quizzes and four essays.
His lectures are entertaining and keep you involved, so good teacher. You still have to do work...apparently some people think this is bad, but it is part of school. Pay attention, skim the book, write the papers, take the quizes, you'll be fine. One of my favorite teachers.
Decent enough professor; only lectures in class which can get redundant. Easy "B" or "C." Not an easy "A"--essay exams seem easy enough, but he has nearly impossible standards so don't plan on getting 100% on them--the best is usually 90%. Comes off as cocky in class but is not too bad when you get to know him.
Let?s face it, history is a lectured class. If you find lectures boring, then good luck in school. Chad did a superb job at making a potentially boring class fun and interesting. His tests are not the easiest but if you pay attention and take good notes you can get your A?s. I did and none of my friends would call me smart.
Decent enough professor--not a cake walk; but not extremely difficult either. Most people got a "C" or better. I wouldn't say he is as amazing as he is portrayed. He is like a majority of college professors--you go to class, pay attention during lectures, and come prepared on the day of the exam. Overall, would recommend him.
Interesting lectures, even if they are a little repetitive. He's a likeable guy, really flexible with absences and test makeups. The only grades are tests and quizzes. Essay tests are easy enough but difficult to ace. I went to lecture about 75% of the time and never used my textbook, still got a B.
best professor ever.
Best instructor I have had. I am majoring in history and his classes have made me sure that its the right choice. He make lectures very interesting and Ive gotten A's in all his classes. PLus he is quite attractive and very likeable.
Very good prof. No homework, makes history fun, very knowledgeable, all around good class. Would recommend to everyone.
Best Professor I've had at RCTC. Even though he lectures everyday, which I tend to not like, he makes class extremely interesting. He's clearly passionate about history, which helps a lot in making the class one of my favorites ever. Just go to class every day and you're sure to do well on the exams. I love his classes!
Chad is pretty much one of the coolest down to earth teachers i have had... relates information great, and is very helpful.
Love love love this guy!! He's a great professor and his history of rock and roll class was the best class I've ever taken. He said his goal at the beginning of the semester was to make his class your favorite of the semester and he more than succeeded!! You get to watch a lot of movies so don't be disrespectful and talk during them, he hates that.
Mr. Israelson is a cool dude and a good teacher.
One of the best profs I had in all my university (am Cdn) years. I absolutely loved his history classes.
Pretty good teacher. Would recommend him.
this is probably the best history teacher ive ever had. isrealson is so fair in everything that he does. he is also extremely intelligent and is a master in teaching. i wish rctc had more teachers like him!
Great teacher. Loves his subject matter and what he does.Respectful of all religions and is pretty objective. Somewhat cynical about man's motives thought. Money is our primary motivator. He says that he is an easy B but a hard A and that is probably true. He was a pretty easy A for me but I like history and have studied it before. Good teacher.
Good teacher. I had him for 1613 during the same semester and liked him in both classes. Simple class layout is super. Four 50 point in class essay tests. 5 25 point, 25 multiple choice question quizzes. Drop your lowest quiz score. Only a few questions taken from the book on each quiz. Come to lectures. Read a little. Work hard on your essays. A!
Amazing teacher. Israelson made sitting in class awesome. The layout of the class was easy and straightforward. The material is easy if you attend class. His lectures are really interesting and he knows a lot! Even the tangents were fun. :)
I learned so much in western civ!! Always very organized and is good about letting you know when quizzes and tests are. Going to class is a really good idea, and if you want an A, do some reading. There are a couple questions from the book on the quizzes.
Great course, I definetly don't enjoy history, but this course was do able. Use your resources, book and the access code!! take practice quizes!!! They will help you throughout the course and chapter quizs!! :)
Textbook was a necessity. Time consuming reading but well worth it. I enjoy history so this class was very interesting. Online requirements were very straightforward. I would definitely recommend this professor and this class.
Very interactive class, keeps you involved makes history exciting. You can tell he enjoys his class and sets you up to succeed
Best professor I ever had!
Great Teacher
Awesome teacher, very helpful, and knows how to handle tough students. Lectures are great and make a lot of sense. I enjoyed this teacher a lot and have learned more than I thought I would.
I took History of the Presidency with Chad Israelson and Atef Dimian. They are both great teachers and will work with/help you for sure. It is a hard class tho, you will have to attend and do your homework, and take really good notes! The lectures are interesting, fast paced and fun to listen to. No extra credit and essay tests.
Chad gives a great lecture and he makes it entertaining. He is very laid back and really cares about his students. It was easy to pay attention and you can tell he is passionate about history. This class has little to no homework so test are a big deal. I took notes and made voice memos on my phone. This is great for studying.
Top 5 favorite professors. His lectures were great and entertaining really getting the students involved. No homework so the tests were a big deal. He cares about his students' success, taking time to help every student in need. 10/10 would recommend.
Chad was the best. He was able to make a boring topic fun, and I enjoyed listening to his lectures. His test are essays and he gives you the questions that are going to be on there. His final was a little tricker but if you paid attention in class you should do fine. I'm definitely going to continue taking classes with Chad.
Chad was one of the best professors I ever had. His class is all lecture but he makes each lecture enjoyable and relatable. He teaches history so everyone understands and is very easy to talk to. The class is chill and you don't get attendance credit. Although, you should want to be there because you cover a lot of information in each class.
He explains things well!
its simple you show up to class and do the assignments then you should have no problems passing. I had him for history of rock and roll class.
You definitely are going to need to work for an A. He is a good teacher and has a nice testing system. He will answer any questions you might have before the test. Easy to meet up with.
Great professor. If he had a podcast I'd listen to it, he's just got that great voice and the ability to tell a story really well. I had to work pretty hard to get an A in this class, really study hard for those essay tests and make sure you write a lot down. I found the textbook useful just for extra reading, but if you're non-PSEO, don't buy it.
Class was pretty easy. Quizzes were all on quizlet. the only difficult part of the class were the four papers that were minimum of 1500 words each. all the info is from the textbook, but I actually learned from writing the papers. Definitely would take this class again!!!
The class I took was an online history class. You have around 7 essays you will write during the course, so make sure you do your reading in the textbook. I advise taking notes if you do not have the best memory, they can help you with tests. He also lets you take tests twice so you can achieve a better grade. Good teacher, always responded to me!
This was my easiest class this semester, the class is graded by a few essays and 2 assignments and there's always weeks in between due dates for each thing. The essays and assignments are really to do, you just need to listen to his mini lectures (always less than 5 minutes each!).
Super easy class. Love it.
His lectures are very interesting and easy to follow. Essays are usually due every two weeks, but he gives plenty of content to write on.
Professor Israelson is a wonderful professor! His lectures give you a very good grasp on the topics at hand, and also summarizes the book extremely well. Weekly essays, and one short assignment took up the workload of the class. If you watch the lectures, read / skim over the book, and write a good essay you are going to learn a lot.
Professor Israelson somehow places you in the time period he is teaching, it was exciting to come to class and hear him talk about the topic as if listening to a storyteller. I was so compelled to learn I received an A in history, which I had never attained previously
He is a great professor, wonderful at answering his email whenever I had a question about a paper for the readings. This class is just the textbook and writing assignment, which was easy, read the chapter, do the assignment!
All this course consisted of was writings based on documentaries and essays based on chapters in the book. About a paper a week. To me, it was boring. Easy A for sure, but not my thing.
Chad was a great lecturer, his class was very organized, and expectations were clear. You'll have a weekly quiz, essay, or assignment (that sometimes consisted of watching two hours of videos), so you have to put in the time. As long as you do what's expected and get it in on time, you'll get a good grade.
Gives great instruction and very good feedback on assignments.
This class was a lot of fun. Took it asynchronously two years ago. Textbook may have been problematic to get but no worry. Great music (big fan of what he had us listen to) and pretty simple. If you fail this one it's either because you don't care or you write really bad papers. Easy going guy too. Take his class -- especially this one.
Chad is pretty great. you'll be writing a lot of 2-3 page essays (at least once a week) but he's easy and gives good feedback to ensure you get good grades on them. I took the online course for this class and a different one with him and both were the same amount of work so I assume all his online classes are similar.
In his class you really have to try on the papers, but he doesn't ever give 100% on them. The main part of his class is the chapter quizzes each week. They are super easy and in my experience all I had to do was read the chapter and I'd be set. Overall I'd say pretty easy and I liked how predictable it was.
1613 course was a fun class with Chad. He made history easy to understand and gave us many choices to pick one from for the assignment paper. Even with online course, you could tell he cares about teaching and students.
Top 5 Professor at RCTC.
Guy was great!! He was funny, managed to capture everyone's attention, and had some good little side-stories that he sprinkled in here and there. He made my history class so much fun!
