Had him a few semesters ago. He is a great teacher. Wish he were teaching more science classes. He is very humorous and makes learning interesting.

Great guy, he should allow a little more leway with grades but he knew his material, but was overly sexual at times and i like that stuff

He's a very fun teacher to have, however be prepared for tough tests. He makes the class very interesting and breaks it down so even beginners can understand terminology. Tests were pretty tricky though so study ahead of time and don't let his fun sense of humor make you think he's an easy "A" teacher.

He's super funny! He makes lectures interesting..but 2 & 1/2 hrs is just too long for me. Hw is pretty easy, however, online tests are super hard. You should study & have all resources handy (book, study guide,crosswords & internet). I didnt do so well on my online tests but as long as I did my hw I managed to keep my grade to a B. Reccommend!!

I loved Chad, He is a great teacher. He was extremely helpful, funny, and always fair. Not the easiest test even though they were on D2L. Take notes and listen in lecture and you will do great. Really knows his stuff. Would highly reccommend, you will love him! Wish I could take him for another class!

Great teacher. Lectures are extremely helpful and relevant. Fill out and memorize the exam review questions and you will do fine. Don't take his class if you are boring and have no sense of humor.

Absolutely amazing teacher! I recommend him to everyone. Great sense of humor which some people obviously did not get. He will help you in any way possible and his quizzes and exams come straight from your notes. He knows micro very well and uses examples that we can relate to. Take him !!!!!

Had for micro fall of 2011. Never bought a book, just googled anything I didnt know, because he hands out powerpoints with notes. So, between his lecture and powerpoints you are set! Just study and review powerpoints on a regular you will be fine. Really nice, and makes class fun. Lab is a great way to earn easy points so do them!

Awesome teacher, he knows his stuff and doesn't expect you to know it all like some teachers. Very helpful and will answer any questions. I would take him if I was you, made the class fun and it was pretty easy. Just study and go to class and you should be fine. People thought I was crazy for taking this with anatomy but I got an A.

I finished my micro with great skill and knowledge. I did not get chance to study very well, so i got C with little study. Best teacher in this world. if i passed this class this means anyone can get B or A if study hard. it self many terms, so you have to study his note. he is helpful, funny, fair.I learned and had fun every single class. lovely

Awesome teacher. He's a funny guy and that makes the lectures more enjoyable. Everything you need to know is in the lectures, so show up and take notes. The tests are a little tricky but if you know the material you will do great. He's very helpful and will stay late to help you. I highly recommend him if you have to take Microbiology

Mr. Pearion is one of the BEST professors I have ever had. His lectures are interesting and fun. He keeps your attention when the material gets boring or difficult to understand, and he is always willing to stay after hours to help with what ever you need. I HIGHLY recommend him!

I took Pearion a few years ago. He was very funny. He made the material interesting. He understands BIO is a hard class for most, and he tries to make it understandable and relatable. He hands out powerpoints during lectures which made it easier to follow along. Put in effort and he makes it easier.

Mr. Pearion is seriously the best! He writes notes on the board so you can keep up with what he is saying. He is so funny and very easy to approach if you have questions. The Unknown Lab is one of the most interesting things I've ever done at ECC. Take this class with Pearion and you won't regret it. Seriously though best professor I've had for lab

EXCELLENT instructor! Thoroughly covered all material and writes notes on the board. He's very helpful and easy going, was funny and made class interesting. Tests are a bit difficult, but if you take notes and study, its easy to get high scores on the tests. Highly recommend for future bio classes!

This was a very interesting class, but I feel the professor at time is too brief and goes extremely fast. Something he is hard to understand and it's hard to grasp whats going to be on the test/quizzes bc he is always all over the place. I have to say he is much better then other micro professors

Excellent professor. Has very concise notes, but goes through a lot of information, so be sure to stay on top of the content. Has a very energetic personality and oddball sense of humor which brings the sometimes stales content to life and helps keep you interested and engaged.

Chad is AMAZING - was very sad to only have him for 12 a semester. Lectures had me in tears I was laughing so hard. Print out lecture slides - they will help for exams. All exams, most quizzes, etc is taken online so you are able to use notes and book. There are pre-lecture quizzes and quizzes on post lab questions so you now what's going on.

Mr. Pearion was an awesome teacher! He's very eccentric and makes his lectures entertaining for everyone, while still managing to get through a lot of content. The class becomes very friendly and involving, and he's sure to give you all the info you need in order to pass. Almost all quizzes and test are online, and actually help. Not a hard course.

Funniest teacher I have had by far! His lectures are really long but he makes them super funny! He's very genuine and a great teacher. He loves what he teaches which makes him great at it. He's there for you if you need help as well. Your quizzes and tests are practically all online so it's easy. Take him!

Amazing teacher took him over the summer it flew by really quick. His lectures a long but he makes the enjoyable. He is super funny. He really knows his stuff and is always there to help. All test were online except for the finale. labs were easy and he gives plenty of lab time to study. Barely used lab book.

Amazing teacher. Learned so much in his class. Easy to talk to and adds humor (it's corny but what do you expect from a science teacher) Made class much more tolerable. All lecture exams (except final) are online & straight from powerpoints. Offers study sessions prior to tissue exam and fetal pig exam. Gives 1 pop quiz. Highly recommend!

Mr. Pearion is awesome. All of his exams and quizzes are online and straight from his PowerPoints. Just keep your PowerPoint open while doing the exam and you will get an A. The only exams not online are the lab exams, but he lets you have a page of notes so you can have all the anatomy words. Give Pearion a raise!!

He's super easy and not a touch grader. He's explains everything clearly... All his homework and test are online!! As long as you study for the histology, bone, and fetal pig exam, you'll be good! Wish he teached bio245 :/

Professor Pearion is very funny and incorporates it into his lectures. He gives extra credit points daily. You only will need and use the Lab Manual textbook. He's organized and has a passion for what he teaches. Mr. Pearion is very educated and knows what he is talking about. I've learned a lot from his class and would take over again!

I took him for micro and you do have to study to pass this class it is not that hard. He is a pretty chill teacher. Very funny and approachable

He's such a good professor. He keeps the difficult subject of microbiology very simple and sometimes amusing. All of his tests are directly based on his lectures. He gives plenty of extra credit opportunities. Everything you'd want in a professor.

I loved professor Pearion! His exams are straight foward. If you come to class, take notes, and participate in his labs you will do fine. This is college so studying is always a must. He does offer some extra credit. Class was exciting and he is absolutely hilarious. I learned a lot from this class. Take him you will not be disappointed!

Lectures can be ZANY! He may go a little fast if you don't get things easily. Tests are straight out of lecture. Labs are straightforward and he guides you through them. Mr. Pearion was fun and more relaxed than Kroll. The tests are a huge chunk of the grade but the daily quiz points often saved me whole letter grades. Definitely a solid choice.

TAKE PEARION FOR PEARION FOR MICROBIOLOGY! Hands down the best choice. He is hilarious and helpful. Definitely knows how to keep us awake during lecture. I'm currently enrolled in his summer class and I am sooo glad that I took micro with him. Do yourself a huge favor and sign up for Mr. Pearion's class ASAP. Especially if you are a nursing major

TAKE PEARION FOR MICRO! he is very helpful and knowledgable. He is hilarious which makes his lectures very bearable. He provided study guides which are VERY helpful for tests. Labs are fun. He always describes labs in detail how to do them and was always nice when I asked him to repeat something I missed. Would definitely take again if I could.

Amazing professor. He says when he took BIO 110 it didn't involve essays so he doesn't do them. He says the class is 110, not 245 so it's going to be taught like 110. He gives out study guides which are basically the test re-written. Take him, lectures are lively and he will keep you laughing and entertained. Answers questions, best bio professor.

I recommend Pearion for BIO110! I had previously taken bio two other times before him and had to drop to get a decent grade. He is hilarious and wants all his students to do well. He is so smart, wise, and kind!

Prof. Pearion was informative and engaging. He knows micro. His quizzes in the beginning of each class allowed us to earn extra points good towards the next exam. He gave study guides geared towards each exam. If you answer those questions, you should ace this course with no issues. Lab was fun. I highly recommend taking his class.

Pearion is an AMAZING teacher! He is so funny which makes his class enjoyable. TAKE HIM FOR MICROBIO he is honestly the best. I had Garcia and had to drop because she makes the class as hard as possible but Pearion is so helpful and actually gives you study guides and makes lecture fun! highly highly recommend him.

You have to work for your grade in this class but Pearion offers many tools like study guides to help you be successful. The class is very test heavy but the lab portion of the class is very easy and manageable and I normally hate lab! He is the funniest teacher and I wish I took him for earlier bio courses. Definitely take him if you have the opp.

Honestly one of the best teachers in ECC. Test are heave, final is also crucial. He give you an idea of what's going to be on the test during the lecture, which is helpful with that much material + he give you study guide for each exam. Make sure to write the answers for concept checks, which appear on each exam. Bonus questions are also great.

My favorite professor! Class is detail heavy, but Pearion explains everything in a way that helps. He genuinely cares about students & their success. I have not taken bio since high school 5+ years now and I was worried but with him it was easy (put in the work, study and want to learn) and youll pass this class no problem. LOVE, he has youtube videos that have the lectures recorded which help IMMENSELY!! the exams are basically the slides and pay attention to small details when he lectures but he is amazing, very caring and helps you in anyway he can. the textbook isnt used at all but just get a pdf copy incase you need it later dont buy it on Pearson. chad da best

He restored my faith in teachers! He's hilarious and shows great compassion for his students. There are study guides for tests, but don't miss easy homework points because there is no extra credit. Do online labs as soon as possible because it will help with in person labs. Overall, I wish there were more teachers like him.

Professor Pearion is an awesome instructor. It's an Microbiology class so it is a ton of information but he provides a study guide to help you focus on the main objectives. I highly recommend him if you are taking any biology class! not to mention he is really hilarious

He is amazing. I could sit through a 3 hour lecture of his no problem. he walks you through the unknown bacterium lab report. YOU MUST DO THE STUDY GUIDES they prepare you for the tests. He is the best professor I have ever taken and if you are needing to take micro TAKE HIM.

Out of all the years I've attended Elgin Community College, Professor Pearion is the best professor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his student's success and will give excellent lectures with a humorous style. He is fair with the workload and great at preparing us for tests. Just take him and you will not regret it.

I was so nervous about taking this class because I'm not good with exams, but professor Pearion made it an amazing experience. He is a wonderful teacher and his energy actually made me excited to come to class. Everything is structured well. If you watch the lectures and do the study guides you will pass. I'll definitely take him again for micro!!

He has long lectures but they don't seem that bad because he is funny and light hearted throughout, I found it helpful to print out the slides and write notes that he writes during lecture. Those lecture notes and the study guides are the key to doing well on the exams. there is a big project during half the semester but he walks you through it.

Pearion was my favorite professor at ECC. He made learning microbiology fun, and was a very understanding person. Pay attention to lecture and use the study guides, and you'll do ok on the exams. He even gave out ice cream after the finals lol. I wish more teachers could be like him, you can tell he loves teaching.

Pearion is awesome. Things to know: You must attend class. If you don't, you will fail; attendance is mandatory. You must study for tests; although everyone likes him, the class average on tests is normally in the 60-70 range (no fault of his, just the class curriculum). He's so much fun; if you are opposed to loud laughter, do not take this class.

Can not rave about this professor enough. Actually made Microbio lectures so interesting and fun to learn. Tests are pretty easy as long as you use your resources provided, as the study guide follows the test exactly. Labs were also super engaging and fun to do.

Absolutely loved Pearion, so much so that I took him for 110 and 265. I have yet to find another professor who is this passionate about their work. He truly wants everyone to succeed and do their best. If you have the opportunity to take his course, do not hesitate!! As long as you watch the lectures and do the study guides, you'll be set!

I had taken him for bio 110 as well and he is a great professor but he is very lecture heavy but gives you tons of resources to do good on those tests and gives study guides.

Gives study guides to fill out during lecture. The exams are based on the study guides and ppt. Gives extra credit points to apply towards exams in the beginning of each class, so don't be late and pay attention in class. Lab is easy, fills out during class. One lab project due at the end that is based on all previous labs (complete them and save)

Such an amazing professor, so far he's been one of the two professors who I have had, that make the lectures fun and really seems like they are passionate about their job. I took this class in the summer, scared that I wouldn't be able to keep up. But he does an amazing job at cutting down the work to something manageable.

Chad Pearion is hilarious! He's very clear and great with his lectures. I would recommend to make sure to pay very close attention to the first exam since many do fail it. Pearion was amazing!! His lectures were engaging and interesting, and he actually made the class fun. I did get a C, but it was really only due to the fact that I did not complete two of the lab quizzes (which were easy, I just forgot to do them). Would definitely recommend 10/10.

I enjoyed taking Pearion during fall. He's intelligent and does care about his students. One thing that I enjoyed the most was that he uses real examples during lecture to explain the importance and application of material being taught. Highly recommend him because he's overpowered with biology knowledge. Last lecture is the best, hallelujah, amen!
