Wow what a guy!!! It is just too bad that he is not able to teach all the subjects at J.C. I love this class! If you just need some extra credits take whatever class he is offering. Great Job.
Great teacher. Gives extra credit. Kinda dorky but sweet, understanding and funny. He really helps you out. He's so easy! When you have to write a paper, he totally gives the ideas for them away in class. No tests or quizes, just 1 papers on what you think that art is about.
He's an awesome teacher. He's always helpful & explains everything well. Homework is easy & lets you know ahead of time when it's due. The class is very easy as long as you do your work. Lot's of x-credit. No tests or quizzes just in class discussions.
he is an awsome teacher. he keeps the class interesting and explains the assignments clearly. your grade is based on writing essays and there is plenty of extra credit, but no test or quizzes. there is a a presentation, but he is a really easy grader
Good person overall. Gives extra credit!!
One of the best proffesors I've had. he is very sweet, and makes class fun and enjoyable.
One of the nicest guys you will ever meet. Makes class interesting on subjects you would normally find boring. I wish he was teaching other classes.
He is not only sweet but very smart. He is very understanding of those students who have a heavy load of work. You would have to give no effort to not pass his class because he gives you a lot of extra credit and he is very clear on all assignments. I wish i had more teachers like him.
absolutly loved his class. i thought i would have hated it but Redwing makes learning humanities enjoyable. allows for extra credit for those who make mistakes. understands that tests don't educate. has to be one of the best teachers at MJC, i wish he taught in other types of classes as well.

Very nice and helpful. I WIsh I could take other classes with him.
By far the most fun and entertaining teacher I have ever had. And for taking his 3hr night class and not falling asleep I think that he does a pretty damn good job.
He was very nice and he did allow for extra credit. I think that he made it fun and enjoyable for everyone in his class. A great plus was that he did not give exams so it was a stress free class. hint# he loves to get food any time, especially during his night class!
Chad is the best professor I've ever had at MJC! He makes class fun and exciting. He has graded group discussions and loves original thought. Extra credit is a bonus too but you don't even need to do it. Unlike some professors, he wants you to pass the class. I would definitely take any class of his. This guy rocks!
Chad is an awesome teacher who wants his students to pass.. open graded class discussions and a few 1 page papers is all we had to do. I got an A. Great teaching style.. chill and relaxed though i learned ALOT at the same time. DEFINATELY RECOMMEND.
By far one of the best teachers on mjc. This class is helpfull, as long as you do your homework and do the extra credict you will get an A. He explays things good and if you need help he will help you. HE WANTS YOU TO PASS THE CLASS
He is so nice and no quizzes and no tests...His teaching method makes sense and his final is so so easy! I wish he taught another class :)
I hated this class so much at first. Mr. Redwing is the funniest teacher ever. The only reason I stayed instead of dropping is because of him. Work is not hard, he wants your opinion about things and not what you think he wants . If you show up you show up to class and do the work, you will pass.
Great teacher. Once you learn to write the way he wants you to, you'll be fine. Easy A w/ all the EC offered.
Chad is an amazing enlightener. Thanks to him and his classes I've begun to consider Humanities as a major. If you just do the work, you'll pass. Highly recommend him for critical thinkers, you'll love him. HUM 101 has a greater number of idiots than his other courses. Love to think outside the box? Or even just love to THINK, take him.
he is an awsome teacher! i've never loved a class more!
Chad is the first humanities instructor that I didn't drop. He's very organized, easy to understand, and entertaining. Coursework includes several short essays and written discussions in response to your reading. NO EXAMS! But he still challenges you to learn. Offers extra credit. Take his class and you won't regret it! :-)
this teacher was the best. he's really cool and it's a fun class to take you won't regret it.
This teacher is the best. he's definetly a cool and a great teacher. he's really funny and the class lectures was fun and interesting not something you find in other classes. i highly recommend this techer.
This teacher was the best. his lectures were always interesting and he made the class fun. he is defintely worth your time.
He'll open your eyes if you open your mind. You'll search out answers within yourself for questions most people don't think to ask. If your light isn't on, he'll flick the switch. You'll learn to examine the world, and the realities which we create. He's much more than simply a cool teacher with interesting coursework.
Very fun and educating class. He is hot!
This is the best teacher you can take if you have to take humanities. He does nto give out a lot of work AND you actually learn stuff in his class. He likes coffee. Um yeah i failed humanities before and i took him and passed with an a. HE ACTUALLY CARES ABOUT HIS STUDENTS.
chad was a fun teacher and I really enjoyed class also not bad looking
Great teacher. Keeps in good contact with students (online class).
Took him online and found this class to be great. The work is pretty easy (1 page essay that has no right or wrong answer). Taking him online was a bad idea because he seems like a great teacher to take in person. Always updates the class with weekly announcements and responds quickly to emails. If you take this class take it in person with Redwing
I took this class online, and it was great. I wish I could have taken it in person with him, he is a wonderful man. Most of the assignments are based off of opinion, so if you read and understand what you're talking about you'll do fine. Gives every assignment at beginning of semester, so you can get ahead if you want. GREAT TEACHER!!!
Took his online class. I guess I am just about the only one who wasn't thrilled with this class. I didn't like the fact that he graded only 6/20 assignments. If I am going to put the work into 20 assignments, I want credit for all of them. Good instructor overall, but a bit wordy in his explanations of assignments etc.
took this class online, and i highly reccomdentated since is very easy to follow, there arent test or quizzes, only on page essay due once a week. Easy A in my life, there is only a few amount to read, most of it is your opinion. Good luck.
Too much reading and writing!! Alot of writing!! Weekly.
I took it online it was easy to follow and the class is very self explain....if you do what you suppose to do you will get a good grade....Is kind of time consuming....Other than that pretty cool class....Professor get back to e-mail fast....
I took this class online and it was a breeze. You only have to do a weekly written page assignment which is a breeze. Furthere more Mr. Redwing is extremely helpful throughout the semester. I can't say enough good words about the man.
Great class! Very interesting and if you like to read, that's a plus. Makes the material fun and totally engages your mind. Easy A if you just do the work.
BEST TEACHER EVER! If you ask him for help and get involved in the discussions you'll make it easier on yourself. Long hair, funny and weird, has alot of cool stuff to say, and very interesting. =] Be prepared to write a few essays.
He's engaging. He's passionate about his material. He is incredibly helpful, and encourages class discussion and dissenting opinions. He's one of the few professors who actually want you to have your own opinion in his courses. There's a lot of reading and writing. That can usually be covered by class discussions and extra credit. There're no tests
Dr. Redwing Rocks! By far the most engaging professor I have ever had. I have actually remained extremely interested in all the material presented in class! Thanks Dr. Redwing
This is the best teacher I have ever had. He makes learning fun and exciting. He provokes you to think for yourself. I have learned more from him that any other teacher. He is deep and provacative. The best.
Excellent course and professor. Very interesting material.
Took his online course and it was easy and informative. It requires a lot of reading but after you get used to the class its not so bad. Very clear on expectations and the assignments are extremely doable. I learned a lot and highly recommend, hope all other OL classes are like his!
Chad is extremely entertaining and makes the course material easy and fun to understand. He doesn't believe in tests so all the assignments are one page papers. Very fun and informative class. HIGHLY suggest his class.
Chad is amazing and I loved his class. Not only does he make topics very interesting, it is not hard, just go to class and take good notes.
The BEST professor I have ever had at MJC!!!!! Really opens your mind to a whole lot of new perspectives and ideas. Papers that are assigned are reflective and really make you think about the topic discussed. Definitely is devoted to his students, would recommend to anyone. Changed my view of the world for the better. Very inspiring instructor!
Without a doubt the best professor at MJC. Hes simply a really cool guy that has a true passion for what he does. I had no idea what to expect from humanities but Chad made it fascinating. No in class writing, everything is turn in one page papers. There is a group presentation and as long as its fun and creative you will receive a good grade.
If you take this class online you are MISSING OUT. Chad was one of the best professors I've taken here and by far the most memorable. He loves his job and it shows when he lectures. I'm sad this class is over. Super easy one page papers, and if you class participates enough he will cancel papers. You will not be disappointed.
Chad was an awesome teacher. If you show up to class, you'll get an A (I never took one note). One page papers are a little tricky to get the hang of but since there isn't any tests, it's worth it. Final Project = Easy. Put a slide show together and you'll pass.
Chad is one of the best teachers at MJC. Dont take him online because his lectures are very interesting. As long as you do well on the 4, one page papers you will be golden. he does offer extra credit, I didnt do it and still got a very high A in he class.
Chad was a great teacher. Lectures were intresting and class was pretty easy. Hes a super nice guy too!
Lots of reading, but taking it online made it managable. He is fair, and made the class a pretty easy A as long as your able to write a 2 page paper every other week, and post online every other week. Answer the as straight forward as possible. Great choice for a filler course, dedicate at least 5 hours a week.
Awesome prof. Gives great lectures that makes you want to attend class doesn't believe in testes. Only work you so is two page essays due every other week and a group project due at the end of the semester and I a actually learn things in class too :p
This teacher is amazing. He gives amazing lectures and keeps you super interested. Makes it easy to attend class. He is super funny and is passionate about what he teaches. Only have 5 essays and one group presentation and one end of semester final. Don't take his class online because you'll be missing out
For an online class he made it as bareable as possible. He gives extra sites to study with. He's easy if you do the work. I didn't at times and I recieved a C but if I deticated the time to studying and reading everything which there is ALOT of reading, I wouldve gotten an A. That was on my part, not his! Just do the work, he's helpful, & ull pass
AMAZING TEACHER! Organized, helpful, passionate. Professor Redwing does everything in his power to make sure that his students understand what he's teaching. Having a teacher like this makes learning fun and exciting- for ANYONE! You do have to work for your grade, but everything is so straightforward. It is worth it. Love him.
Chad is AMAAAZZZIIIING!!!! Take HUMAN 101 in person, NOT online though. He is the BEST professor I've ever had at MJC. He's hilarious and makes learning super easy. I usually end up talking to family and friends about his lectures and how interesting they are! The homework/essays are SO easy. I've learned SO much from him! TAKE HIS CLASS!!!!
BEST TEACHER EVER! explains everything really well and makes the class super fun! He treats all his students like family and you can tell he really cares about each one..the work is simple as long as you pay attention and go to class..I passed with a B(:
I love Dr. Redwing! As long as you attend, and engage in lecture you'll pass. You honestly don't have to read/study. In my opinion this class is pretty subjective, so as long as you can back up your opinion, he'll give you 100% on your papers (which is the only thing he grades you on)
He was awesome! I took him for 101, 105 and 106 and passed all with an A. You don't have to know anything about the class before taking it. Just five 1 page papers, which are totally easy. There is one final presentation, but you are with a group and it's easy. Take the class, you won't regret it.
I took Dr. Redwing for 101 and 105. LOVED both classes would have taken 106 but didn't fit into my schedule. He is such a good instructor. Loves his job and gets every student interested in the class and the material. One of the best teachers at MJC
I've taken Chad's Intro to Humanities course as well as his Intro to Western Religions course. He's a phenomenal teacher, really funny and enthusiastic about what he does. I definitely recommend taking one of his classes!
Chad is an amazing teacher. Just show up to class and give your option in your papers and you are sure to get an A. Loved him and taking him again.
Professor Redwing was an awesome online Professor. Take advantage of the extra credit he offers you! Textbooks are necessary however I went the whole semester without them and passed with an A. He responds to emails really fast and always answered all of my questions. Definitely a must take!
Hands down the best professor I have ever had. He cares about the students and makes class fun and intriguing. I am going to take all of the classes he offers & it's not even toward my AA to transfer. Simply for his intelligence and insight. Highly recommend to take one of his classes even if you don't need it. :)
He's a great teacher, very knowledgeable and interested in what he teaches. And he's cute.
Chad is one of the best professors I have had. He is passionate and hilarious with his teachings. I highly recommend to take his classes. His teachings have not only helped me find some inner peace, but they help one learn a high form of thinking. I took Intro to Humanities and Humanities 3.
Chad was the absolute best! Lectures were engaging and made me want to be in class. He was very kind and hilarious. Papers could be difficult, but as long as you try, you'll succeed. Extra credit was offered. I appreciated that he shook every student's hand at the end of our final! Take him!
I loved Chad! His lectures were always interesting and over the top. To pass this class, just be sure to write every paper and do well on the group project. You will not regret taking him :D
Professor Redwing was an amazing professor. His class was fun even online. Make sure you write every paper which are only 2 pages long and very fun to write about. If you take it online all you need is an access code to get the textbook online. Very fun and interesting class. Highly recommended!
Chad is the best professor out there. Despite his doctorate degree, he is not in the least egotistical. He has a great sense of humor and is very tolerant. You won't be disappointed if you take him. Not a class for the lazy, as there is writing assignments, not "multiple guess" tests.
He is seriously one of the best teachers out there. The class is not difficult and even though it was online I found it really interesting. He obviously cares about his students alot and tries to offer as much help as he can. Every single online class should be like this. Just do the work and you should be able to get an A.
I have never laughed so much in a classroom. He is hilarious and makes humanities fun to learn. For visual purposes, he looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo mixed with Thor. Awesome teacher! I enjoyed his class.
Chad was one of the best professors I have ever had at MJC. He is willing to help you out if you ask for help, and wants all his students to succeed. The class is an easy A if you put in the work, read the material, and show up to class without distractions. The material can be tough to grasp, but just study and read and you should be fine.
Easy A!
Professor Redwing is by far one of my favorite professors at MJC. He has a great understand of Religion and the Humanities and inspires his students through conversation and group discussion. He genuinely cares about his students and loves what he does. In terms of course work, expect discussion forms, and a few papers, and that's about it.
I knew nothing about the class, but still found it very interesting to take. I didn't speak or understand much but he grades very easy. Very cool teacher All you need is a bible. Very affordable class, GPS booster
He is by far the best teacher at MJC. He makes everything really fun and jokes a lot but also helps students get comfortable with conversing in class. The textbook is a bible for this class, so just download an app!
(Intro Western Religions) Engaging and energized discussions/lectures. Participation is important. He's a fast grader with good feedback. There is one group project and 2 papers, as well as discussion forms to show that you are reading the material and thinking on the topic required for class. I learned more then i ever thought i would. Great class
Very fun online class with a light workload. Assignments were easy but you learned a lot. He's very passionate about the humanities which influences students positively. I recommend him to everyone!
Wouldn't think I would be that interested in humanities before the class but wow, Chad was awesome. He applied concepts that would actually be beneficial in a student's future and offered to help in anything we needed. Would really like to take another class, hopefully one with Alien theory lol.
Not to bad. Taken online, heard he is way better in person but his classes. Assignments aren't hard, neither are the short 1-2 page essays. I like how he gives out extra credit. Only thing I disliked was buying the Culture & Values of the Western World the course guide. $40, YOU DONT NEED IT. Discovering the Humanities comes in use a lot though.

Easy A
- never took a test in his class - he's so funny - this was my favorite class because we did practically nothing but talk and laugh - 3 papers, class discussions, and 1 group project at the end - very inspirational - do not buy the book ahead of time, you won't need it - I recommend his class, you'll love it!
Red Wing is a cool guy. He is very unclear about how he wants his papers written. Their are only 4 papers for assignment, and a group project in which you must present. So get ready to exchange numbers and emails with friends and strangers. Doesn't really teach out of the book, instead teaches his owe ideas and theories. Which make it interesting.
Somewhat easy class, I'm glad I got 60 extra points from extra credit or else I would've ended up with a B. Expect to write some essays (I think about 8).
DONT BUY THE BOOK! He will have a online book instead. Anyways, class is really engaging and fun. I learned a lot & never had one test! He believes in really teaching which is a dying art these days. Really cares about students and is inspirational. To get an A do Discussion Questions, 3 two page papers, and a final group powerpoint project. Easy!
Chad is hands down the best professor I have ever had. I took 2 of his classes, which really set the tone for what I wanted from education. His lectures are always engaging and participation and discussion is open and comfortable. Chad continued to help me even after I wasn't a student and is always available by appointment or during office hours.
Professor Redwing is passionate about what he teaches. His class is fairly simple and to the point which is good. The workload isn't too bad and he's very helpful and easy to reach out to.
I'm always concerned when professors require you to purchase their own material. $50 required course guide could be more organized and concise but it's alright. I ended up not needing the additional textbook that was required and still got an A. 5 Discussions and 3 - 2pg essays for summer online class. Really easy grader, overall an easy A.
Awsome guy. Involves everyone in lecture
If you haven't met Chad, you need to. Great Professor makes you feel comfortable and keeps the class laughing, now heres the plot twist: YOU ACTUALLY LEARN! He helps you to understand everything as a whole class. He's easy on actual assignments to be turned in because he cares more about us participating in class discussions. Great Guy, MJC's GEM
Chad is a great prof. He's funny and keeps the class interesting. Make sure you attend class, since the discussion is fun and full of information. Early in the class he'll ask you to exchange emails with people around you. Those people will be in your presentation group.
Where do I start, well all i can say is that this professor is very understanding. He makes you want to learn and is clear on how he wants his assignment. Just follow the steps on how he wants his assignments and it should be and easy A.5 two-page essay, 8 discussions online, and a final exam,. But over his class is pretty straight forward.
Chad is one of those professors that will joke with you, give you feedback, and really work with you. One of the professors that you remember when you leave. There's no textbook but you do have to buy a $50 online study guide to do your work. Work is simple: read the bible(old & new testament/Quran), fill out your packet, and show up. That's it.
Professor Redwing is AMAZING. He's super down to earth and the lectures are always very interesting, hilarious, and really get you thinking about what happened throughout history symbolically. The papers are just your opinion with evidence to support it. The class is easy and you learn some great life lessons while sitting there.
Although it was sort of easy with the exception of the 5, 2 page essays (boring). You don't really learn anything cause there is way much information that he provides and sort of confuses you. final is very doable.
Chad is great. He's funny and makes class entertaining. He understand if you are unable to turn in assignments, but will allow you to make up the work with EC. He genuinely enjoys teaching and it is obvious. I wish there were more educators like him. 3 papers-2pgs long & 1 group presentation.
The class is honestly beyond easy; If you decide to not show up to class then you'll end up screwing yourself out of an easy A. The way Chad decides workload and grades is essentially making up as he goes. You might get flustered during the first week since you won't know what he wants but the class is pretty straight forward.
Professor Redwing is probably one of my top five favorite professors that I have taken at the college level. He is very well educated but also has a great sense of humor and the combination of the two shows very much throughout the class. You will not be bored at all during the lectures! TRUST ME. He also is a very easy grader. Have fun!
Professor Redwing is probably on my top five for professors I have taken at a college level. He is very well educated and has a great sense of humor. Which both show a lot during the class. You will not be bored at lecture and he grades pretty easily. There also isn't much work to be done either. There is a group presentation though but it was easy
Do yourself a favor and take this professor. Don't buy any books until you meet him for your first class. Don't take online; you will miss out on an awesome class! Wish he taught everything.
Chad is an amazing professor. He is super nice and hilarious. Lots of discussions in class. He does not give tests, mainly discussion and lecture. He says the class is not about tests, its about understanding the material to carry through life. One of my favorite professors. I recommend everyone takes this class
Loved taking Chad's class! He makes class fun and relatively easy. I recommend everyone to take his class.
Professor Redwing was a pleasure to take. I took his online 101 course. He allowed me to re-submit an essay when I was dissatisfied with the grade. He responds to emails and he genuinely cares about his students. The grade you receive is the grade you earn.
He's an amazing professor. He'll cancel papers from time to time. We were supposed to have 5 papers, but we only ended up doing 2. They're only 2 pages each. He has discussions (8), that are really easy to do. There's one group project as well, but it's also really easy. Highly recommend him.
Chad is super amazing!!! I've taken all his Humanity courses. His lectures are more like discussions with great humor. He does not follow the typical academic format, which is so nice. He really gets our brains to think in a different way. If he had more courses, I would totally take them. He's the reason I changed my major to Humanities.
Chad was such a fun professor! No tests, just discussions and essays, which means you don't have to buy the textbook. One big group presentation at the end of the semester. Easy, enjoyable and fun class. I would definitely take his class again, the subject was weird but I loved it!
Professor Redwing is honestly my FAVORITE professor at MJC. He's really nice, caring, and his lectures are just amazing. I took his 130 class and then took his 101 after because of much I enjoyed it. If he had more classes I would take them no lie. His homework is super easy just show up and you'll pass. He's also HILARIOUS!! glad I took him.
I had humanities 101 online and I got an A, but the class was kind of confusing because he expects you to use online resources instead of a text book. It was manageable and easy once I got the hang of it, but it was a little much for an online class I was only taking to get art credits. Your grade is basically entirely from discussions and papers.
I took humanities 101 online and do not recommend it. The fist couple of weeks were terrible because he is very vague in his instructions. I emailed him many times for clarification and it did not help. He responded in a timely manner, but it was things like "see syllabus". After I figured out how to do things myself it was not too hard.
Instead of giving you tests and facts to memorize, you research websites the professor provides in a study guide and then participate in discussions and write short papers. Cool class.
Even invited every student out for a gourmet meal and gave away free books!
Great teacher. Hes super funny and outgoing and really cares about his students. He gives a good amount of work, but its easy and not difficult at all.
Professor Redwing was an excellent. His grading criteria is easy, but you have to do the assignments! Missing one will effect your grade. He is hilarious, he is pretty random. Yet so good at convincing you he's right about the topic. The textbook is online. Take his class you won't regret it, it is an easy A just do the work and you'll be fine!
Prof redwing was the first professor I had when I decided to go back to school. He is so funny & genuinely cares. He makes you participate in class, but you end up really enjoying doing so. Only 2 papers if I remember correctly, & honestly if you try you pass. He was really inspirational. I enjoyed his class so much. I'd definitely take him again.
Don't take if you don't like having your bible interpretation questioned. We learned that many bible stories are symbols aren't meant to be literal. Mainly took this class because (let's just say on the first day I explained to the class how Moses walked on water. Then I corrected myself and said no, Moses got swallowed by a whale) I WAS clueless.
Make sure you read the syllabus very very carefully for the online class and do your papers and discussions the way he asks, at first I thought it was a tough class but I learned a lot and passed with a 97%, very easy grader as long as you do the work. Highly recommend.
Hilarious, interprets everyday things in life. Great lectures, took us out to dinner!
Chad is an incredibly intelligent man. He incorporates the Socratic method, choosing to ask leading questions to guide you to a given answer instead of just lecturing. Some may appreciate this, some may not. Prof is VERY flexible about homework assignments. Funny guy, makes for a relaxed class environment. Quality teacher! Take him.
This class was a bit challenging to understand. Great Professor, lots of writing responses. Yet still enjoyable and learned an array of information.
Chad is hilarious!! I would take his class just to listen to him again. The class is a little challenging but Chad is very caring and will help you to the best he can. He hands out extra credit randomly and overall its tough to fail his class. If you stay involved while in class and ask questions if you need help then its an easy A.
Professor Redwing is a very good professor who will work with you to try and help you pass. The material he teaches about is very interesting to read about and I would highly suggest taking his class.
I took professor Redwing's online Human130 over the summer online and he is a pretty solid teacher. For the most part, you're giving your personal opinion on the different arts in different eras so there is no right or wrong answer. He simply grades you on the amount of thought and detail you put in your answers. He also offers extra credit.
Redwing is a laid back professor with a insightful class. He's easy to get a long with and you absolutely will not regret his class if you love to learn and think analytically.
Easy A if you put in the work and effort. I would definitely recommend taking his online class for HUMAN 101. The discussions and papers were relatively easy, but you do have to do a lot of research in order to back up your answers.
His online class was an easy grade but he requires you buy and use his "study guide" that is a useless jumbled mess of internet links (some dead) to websites that would have nothing to do with the discussion,or paper. I spent most of the time finding info on other sites which would be fine if he didn't REQUIRE you to use links from his book.
I took his class this summer semester and it was very interesting and straight forward. You do got to read to be able to answer the questions. Many questions are mostly your personal opinion, but to be able to understand and give your opinion you have to read to know what's being asked. Its a very easy class. Just read and turn in assignments.
Dr. Redwing is great at drawing people into his lectures. His lectures are more like discussions. They make you think, which I appreciate. He cares about his students and is very courteous. You will do 10 online modules. Write 3 discussion papers as well as an assignment on 3 pieces of art or read a couple articles and letter to the editor.
this professor is not for you if you do not like reading constantly, writing, and doing research. i learned this the hard way.
5 two page essays and 8 discussions. The first couple of weeks were madness. I was so lost and almost dropped the class because it was so confusing. Once I figured it out it was all the same steps. Get ready to read! You have to buy his study guide and do online research through it, which was terrible because a lot of his links were expired.
I rather stub my toe on a pole daily for the rest of my life than have to endure this again. Expects a million papers but the instructions are atrocious, a simple "write what you think about this" is more info than he has ever given. And the study guide is atrocious, loads slower than AOL using dialup.
THIS CLASS WAS TERRIBLE!!!! ESPECIALLY DURING COVID TIMES AND ONLINE!!! THE TEACHER LITERALLY LEAVES YOU TO FIGURE OUT HIS INSTRUCTIONS AND EXPECTS YOU TO USE A STUDY GUIDE THAT HAS SO MANY EXPIRED LINKS FOR DISCUSSION POSTS THAT YOU WILL PROBABLY NOT GET FULL CREDIT FOR ANYWAYS. - TERRIBLE CLASS - NOT FOR ADHD PEOPLE - CONFUSING TEACHER
this class was so hard without clear guidance, i almost dropped it. he tends to take off points if your discussion posts aren't basically perfect. keep in mind that getting full credit is HARD when you don't have any other links to use as evidence because he REQUIRES you to use the dead ones on his study guide. class is HARD for neurodivergent ppl.
Unorganized with a $70 dollar study guide that he requires you to do research on when his site has many dead links. Using the internet would be so much easier. Do not take, at least for online classes! He's probably better in person, but for online, he's terrible.
I would rather step on legos than take this insufferable online class again.
He is very relax professor and help student a lot.
AWFUL! Required book that you have to use for his papers is nothing but dead links but you lose credit for not citing sources from his book. Ugh! No clear direction. No one knew what to turn in because everything was a mess and unorganized. He is no help when you reach out. Just says do the research. Where though? Never felt more lost or frustrated
Not difficult if you take time to understand class set up. Its not memorize and test but questions you answer with guided research, learned lots!
If you want to read a textbook and take tests, not for you. Class is an exploration online to answer big questions, once you get the hang of it, it's a much better way to learn.
I ended up dropping the class in less than a week a semester back. The mandatory textbook/coursework that's in the course is 70 dollars for a confusing program written by him. The program is confusing and not very cohesive, as well as his own textbook. The book itself is very biased only containing a eurocentric (white) perspective
This class was not for me, $70 required text, broken links which are needed to complete the discussions, and the 5 papers you'll have to write. No feedback, such simplified instructions that you can't even work off them. Maybe its covid as his old ratings are great. . i have A+'s in my other three classes so confused with how I struggled this much.
Though I do feel like his online book is absolutely overpriced and unneeded, I really liked the laidback feel of this class. Work wasn't hard or overwhelming, just do the work on time and that's all you gotta do. Shouldn't take you very long, all the writing is your own opinion. Overall not bad, but the 70$ digital book of broken links, sucked.
Fairly easy class however the online text is not the greatest of things. The writing prompts for papers can be confusing and if you don't answer in the format including evidence you get a F on the paper pretty much. One assignment just about tanked my grade. Hard grader in my opinion. I wouldn't take this teacher again. Class is doable but beware.
I had trouble accessing the "online" textbook, turned out I had to pay like $70 for an online program. A lot of the time, the links that are given were not up to date and accurate. Class is difficult to work with when it comes to getting clear directions and grading is picky.
Don't take this class. It's confusing and hard to understand. He does not answer your questions when you email him. The amount you have to read is insane. I dropped the class because it was so hard and confusing.
Do not take this class if you are neurodivergent. There is a ton of reading and most of it is not relevant to the essays. Grading criteria and instructions are unclear and he will not answer your emails. If he does answer, you will be more confused than you were before. I got an A in this class and learned nothing. Take another class if you can.
I took this professor because of the good score on here but it was the worst decision I could make. I honestly don't ever rate professors but this one is so bad. Many other students have wrote me this semester because we're all confused, he doesn't answer, and everything is unclear. Please trust the bad reviews. I can't believe he's even teaching
Did not understand how the course was running. Much different than any class I previously took. Did not respond to email within 24 hours. Watched a couple of his lectures that were good but needs better organization of course.
very tough grader and the online setup is so confusing and disorganized.
Redwing is a very flexible and inspirational teacher, I admire how down-to-earth he is and I like his approach to history and culture. The biggest complaint is mostly with the structure of the online portions, of which most of the semester (Fall 2022) was. The setup can be a bit confusing, as well as the website for the textbook.
Professor Redwing was not an active teacher. He assigned a third-party study guide and never actually involved himself in the class. He assigned a group assignment and did not answer questions given to him by many in the class. I would never take one of his classes again.
I took his in-person Humanities class and am glad I did. He was funny and extremely knowledgable. I enjoyed his class. He is fair at grading discussion assignments. Show up to class each session and you will do great.
The Redwing class is relatively easy. At the beginning, there is a group project, which is manageable as long as you maintain good communication with your team. After the group project, there were a total of eight discussions, and these were quite straightforward.
Group project for first assignment. Make sure you to get a team together quickly and do not wait till the last minute. The only thing that upset me was that he did not add any of the extra credit I did to my grade. I did 2 extra credit assignments even emailed him to remind him. He said he would add to my grade and never did.
I took his online class, and the assignments were really easy. However, the group project was quite confusing. Even though the class was fully online, we had to form a group and meet to complete the project. He doesn't respond to emails promptly, so you often have to wait a long time for a reply. Overall, it's an easy A.
I took his in-person class and I enjoyed his lectures. I always felt welcomed and ok to be myself in the class. He's relatable with the students and doesn't make you feel bad if you don't have the right answer. He doesn't embarrass you by calling you out for answers, he asks for volunteers which makes the class not stressful.
Honestly, this is the easiest class I've ever taken. It was literally 6 discussion posts and the group assignment in the beginning. The group assignment was okay, if I could do it alone I'd rather do that. Otherwise, I did not feel challenged by Prof. Redwing and would highly recommend the class if you want something to boost your GPA
The professor made the class so interesting. But the class was sort of difficult to understand. Every lecture you will take notes. There are no tests or quizzes. But you will have a group project throughout the semester that can kind of be hard.
easiest A ever, take it if you want a boost to your GPA
