Great teacher that helps everyone in the class understand the information so by the end of the semester if you have been doing the homework you will not only have an A but a basic understanding of music.

Excellent teacher! His lectures are clear and concise. He is very patient and his calm personality makes his class a pleasure to attend.

Enjoyed his class, I like the fact that he makes you participate which really made me understand more clearly. He was helpful and always ready to help you succeed in the class if you do the work. After all i got an A but what what I put into the class I got out of it. I would recommend taking him. He gives you the foundation!

The only problem you may have is being able to hear him when he lectures. Him being the calm and relaxed guy he is makes him talk a little soft at times so make sure you sit at the front of the class. And he does not exactly have the best handwriting in the world so it can be hard to read when he writes stuff on the board. Besides that, easy class.

Mr. Robinson is an excellent teacher. He is very clear in speech and instructs on an appropriate level. He is relaxed, thorough, and you can tell he enjoys what he does. I really like his teaching style. In addition to new material, he reviews what he taught the previous class with added detail. The listening examples are a tangible asset.

An Awesome professor of music. He is a composer of music too (this semester, the Contemporary Fine Arts Museum, Houston had a chamber musical quintet that played a piece of music he composed). His teaching style and ability convey the material clearly. You learn to enjoy and really listening to music. I would QUICKLY take any of his classes.

Interesting class. 5 exams and one required music essay based on a classical concert you go watch. Minimal studying is required. takes attendance. His writing sucks on the board so if you aren't paying attention, you will not know what he wrote on the board.

Professor Chad would always make sure we had the materials correct. He is reasonable when it comes to getting things accomplished. I've learned many things throughout this course. the different types of music and how things are being put together. The only problem I had towards him is his writing ... I couldn't understand some of the words.

(Continue) He's soft spoken so pay close attention. He's lefthanded so his handwriting is pretty messy. Listen in class! He writes key words but add your own notes to it. He's pretty funny, easy to joke with, & a bit awkward but in a good way. Looks like the stereotypical music teacher: young, very cute, long hair. I'd love to take his class again

Professor Robinson is a fantastic professor. A real breath of fresh air, considering unlike the majority of instructors you'll find, he actually really knows his stuff BIG TIME. If you ever have the chance to take him, and you don't, you're screwing up. Fantastic lectures, fair grading, justice for all, warm atmosphere, soothing voice.

hes pretty soft spoken so pay attention. theres five test including the final and 600-800 word paper so like 3 pages on the concerts that you go too during the course. he told me when with test grades like mine (which are BAD) its very possible to still pass

There are 5 tests and one essay which requires you to go to symphony. If you take the notes during lectures and study those very thoroughly you will get an A. I didn't use the book for the first two tests. But i'm going to use it for the next tests. You don't necessarily need the book, but it will help with vocabulary and if something isn't clear.

Mr. Robinson was a really great teacher. I took this class because i had to have a fine art credit and I love music. His class is really easy but you do need to study for the tests if you know nothing about the history of music. There are a total of 4 tests and a final and you have a 1000 word essay.

Easy classes long as you pay attention during lectures. Take good notes and study them you should get a good grade on the test.

Although it seems that he's writing all over the board with no destination he'll surprise you by tying everything up, what's going on in the world, politics, wars and whatnot, in a very clean and clear finish. Class participation is a must, we had four tests during the semester and right before finals we had to write an essay about a concert.

Professor Robinson was a great professor. Make sure you pay attention and take every note. If you can't read something on the board, you better ask him what it says. There's 5 tests (one of them being the final) and a 1000 word paper on a concert.

Professor Robinson is absolutely great! He is very understanding and will help you out in any way you can especially if you've missed class. Handwriting isn't the best, so please please please ask if you can't read what is on the board. Other than that, I really enjoyed this class, especially as a music lover and being in choir for so long.

A professor who has studied at two very well respected colleges, as well as giving plenty of previous lectures at popular colleges; Mr. Robinson is very detailed and thorough with his lectures. By the time you are done with his class you will understand all of the material that you had expected to learn. He is great with his students as well!

Very good teacher one problem is his hand writing is bad, but he will tell you what is says and spell it out and will try to rewrite it so you can read it.

You have to go to a classical concert and write a 1,000 word essay and there is no rubric the due date is until the end of the semester. Extra credit are essays. The first couple of weeks are confusing if you do not understand music. Tests are hard if you DONT STUDY. His handwriting is sometimes too sloppy to understand. But he's a good teacher.

Professor is very nice and helpful, as long as you have a book and use it test are ok and make sure to sit up close because his writing is not easy to understand on top that he uses red markers so hit buy him some black markers to help you out.

Cool teacher, not a harsh grader & very understanding. Material isn't hard at all; I've never bought the textbook and still managed to get A's on most my test, but it also helped that I've had a music background. If you have no idea about anything in music then get the book, if you do then the book isn't that necessary. Handwriting isn't bad ok LOL

He is a nice teacher. Long lectures but he tries to get the class involved. There were only three tests then the final which were all pretty easy as long as you read and pay attention. Plus it didn't hurt that he was cute.

There's a couple of things he could definitely show improvement in. He's very wise and an incredibly knowledgeable individual. But I've observed several behaviors. For example, throughout the semester wrote notes very sloppy. He needs to be less sarcastic and more helpful. Also more understanding and patient. No need to berate others for feedback.

The room is sort of big so, make sure to sit close because you will need to listen to his lectures. Great teacher and if you have any issues bring it to his attention and he'll work with you to make sure you understand what is expected in class. As an engineering major and not very musically inclined, I expected to hate the class. Never have I been more wrong. The class is interesting, engaging, and done very well. I almost never opened the textbook and my lowest grade for the semester is a B+. The lectures are very clear and to the point. If you show up to class, you'll do well.

This was one of the easiest and most interesting classes I've taken. He is soft spoken and yes.. has terrible handwriting but this guy knows his stuff and is very passionate about music. He is kind and his class is easy to follow. A few tests, always reviews and gives extra credit. Take him, you won't regret it.

The most coolest, down-to-earth teacher. Young, which makes him relatable to us and us to him. His notes are all over the place, but we review on tests a class before the test. Very nice and professional. Loved his class, it was an easy A.

The professor goes to each one of his students and reviews the music piece the student is playing and gives the student tips on how to play the piece. The professor also gives several opportunities for extra credit. I started out not knowing anything about playing the piano now I can play several pieces.

Excellent professor! Sticks to the syllabus, keeps the lectures anti-monotonous and very interesting, and will invest in your knowledge as much as you're willing to invest in the course! I would absolutely take this course again!

overall this class was amazing! Our lectures consisted of Youtube music videos as reference as well as hands on notes that helped with the information. It is a relaxing class, and I would recommend taking it. I know if I were offered the opportunity again I would take another course with him.

I would suggest always writing down what he says is important & sitting in the front of the class to read his writing (its tough to read)-also so you can fit that in your notes too! Show up on review day, and you'll be golden for his tests! Overall, he teaches a great class. I really enjoyed it. And if I ever had any questions, he quickly responds

This is a piano class, for music and I definitely recommend to take this if you want a music class or are interested in piano, but you have to practice and show up to be able to pass!

Professor Robinson is extremely knowledge with regard to music and gives great lectures. He uses the wipe-board extensively however and his penmanship lacks luster so grab a seat in the front of the class or bring binoculars.

I took this class for an art credit and was referred to Prof. Robinson's class by one of my friends. I was not disappointed. He is extremely knowledgeable, helpful, and credible in his field, seeing as he studied at one of the top musical institutes in the world.

His teachings are loosely based from the textbook which is good. He writes everything down during his lectures and the stuff he writes down is identical from the exams (5 exams plus an essay). The professor is above average. He's engaging enough to pay attention to the lecture without falling asleep and shows the music pieces at least once. This professor gives 5 tests and reviews the day before the test so you know the material and also only 1 essay which is 1,000 words, you have the first day of class till the last day of class to submit. He's a very nice teacher as well.

Professor Robinson is a good professor. He is very clear in his instructions and what he expects from his students. If you enjoy playing the piano you will enjoy taking the class. There are not many grades in the class, just two performances, and half of your grade comes from attendance and practicing during class.

I took this professor for Class Piano 1, and I didn't regret it at all. Professor Robinson is really nice and helpful. The class is honestly not too hard; I messed around with the piano more than I played from the textbook and I still got my work done.

Regular lecture, but they aren't too bad. They're actually pretty interesting if you're into them. He grades pretty well, the work isn't too bad, and you will get good grades if pay attention and maybe study a little bit.

Mr. Robinson always checks attendance the minute class begins. When ever we have questions about something we don't know, he will repeat it and always ask us if we still understand. He provides us with the right amount of information we need to know for each of our classes and for our test. When we review for a test he provides us with information.

He was a good Instructor. I actually learned a few things while a student in his class. I see music differently now.

He gives interesting detailed lectures. The textbook is not necessary but he gives bonus points from the textbook reading. You can easily make an A without ever opening the textbook if you attend class and study the notes.

Professor Robinson knows his stuff. He is fair, but expects you to put in your part as well.

The course consists of a lot of interesting, long lectures (depending on the topic) and simple tests after some of the lessons are covered. The professor makes sure you have the course book, but I made it without one. Paying attention during lectures and showing up for the class is the only thing that's needed in order to get a passing grade.

Very inspirational when talking about music, he explains how music isn't suppose to help you relax, instead it should make you think. He's very knowledgeable on the backgrounds of various artists. Even if classical music isn't your favorite genre, he will make the class very interesting. However, he does not use d2l... slight prob lol.

I took him for private piano lessons and he's a great piano teacher. We started from square one at the beginning of the semester and now I can read and play some decent piano music! He's there to walk you through it step by step when you make mistakes. Great teacher! Would recommend this class!!! Lots of fun!

Great professor. Tests are straight from the lectures and textbook. Concert assignment is easy. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities. Attendance is part of your overall grade and mandatory. Okay class. Mixup with the text book we were supposed to use, now I have two. Class is all a lecture, his handwriting is messy. He explains things clearly. I had ordered the correct book for the class before hand. The bookstore ordered the wrong book therefore the professor decided to change the whole class to fit the new book. He stated "you will be fine with the old book." Next he says you will need the new book and to not blame him because we had plenty of time to get the new book.

The only grades in the class are tests, one paper, and attendance. However, he offers many opportunities for extra credit. The tests are mostly what he covers in his lectures, but it is very helpful to read the textbook. He will make time for you to go over your grades and where you stand in the class. Hand writing can be hard to read at times.

He missed 3 days in ss so we missed a whole test and his hand writing is hard to read, but manageable He tests details and specifics so know the material backwards and forwards. He accommodates students, is nice, and the lectures arent boring. he usually lets the class out early. You use the book half the time, just take good notes. over all 8.5/10

Your attendance is mandatory, its part of your grade. Instructor will lecture and show short musical videos. You need to attend a concert and write a paper. His exams are not quite easy, they involve short answer, fill in the blank and the usual multiple choice and T & F. He does review a day before the exam but the rest is up to you.

This guy is unique from my other professors. He will talk to you privately if needed Take notes during lectures as everything on the board is essential on the tests. For Robinson to be left-handed writing on a whiteboard, his handwriting is not as bad as it is perceived to be; however, if you can't read his handwriting he'll clarify for you, no problem. All test questions (except for maybe 2 or 3) came directly from the lecture. Pay attention, take notes, and read the textbook. It's an easy A.

Probably the easiest class Ive ever taken. Pay attention in class, take good notes, read the book and youll make an easy A. I personally recommended reading before you get to class, it will make the lectures easier to understand; which in the end will make the tests easier. Very helpful, and charming. To get an A in this class all you have to do is attend and pay attention. Exams are, for the most part, covered by the oral review he gives. Fair grader, but if you are late/absent for any reason at all, you will be docked points so be punctual.

Professor does require you go to 3 concerts throughout semester. May cost money to see them. Plus keep up with lectures, they make up a lot of questions on exams.

Chad Robinson will engage you in a way most teachers won't. He's someone who is passionate about the subject he teaches and inspires and excites you to learn more in depth about the subject matter.

Tends to mumble at times during lecture and has chicken-scratch handwriting so make sure you pay attention to what hes talking about/writing down. Attendance matters. Few major grades, 4-5 tests depending on how hectic the semester is, he gave us a timeline as a test replacement for our first exam so that was cool.

I took this class towards the end of my music degree. I was already familiar with a lot of the course material but found that I was still able to learn a lot and have greater understanding of music. I had a lot of fun taking this class and would take again if I could. There is a bit of outside class work involved but it is actually relevant. Enjoy

The class is 100% lecture, but he plays examples of music from the era that help you understand stuff from the lecture. He said 80% of the tests were from the lecture and 20% was from the book and that was pretty much true. Going to class is important but if you absolutely have to miss read the chapter, thatll give you most of it.

There's no homework within this class. As long as you show up to class, take your notes, and attend the three concerts you need to write three essays you will pass this class. If you're struggling talk to professor Robinson about your concerns. Keep in mind extra creidt opportunities are usually also given out
