Worst teacher ever! So hard and not willing to help. A test or quiz every week. Only get points for test and quizes. Tons of homework worth no credit, just guilt if you don't do it. Don't take his class! I new he was bad from the start!
i think he enjoys giving bad grades, it makes him feel better about himself. he only gives grades for quizes and tests, and he grades them reeaaly hard.

He knows what he's talking about, and that's all that matters to him. He says you can always stop by his office for help, but in class, if you dont know what's going on, he makes you feel stupid. Grade based soley on quizzes and tests. Just don't take him.
He makes it see like he hates being there teaching a lower math and feels like it is a punishment not to have 101 students. not approachable, not friendly,very cocky, dont take him, youll end up dropping the class
I got an A in both Math 60 and 70 and I had to drop his class because of my poor grade. He's a bit cocky and somewhat condescending. I did not like his teaching style.
There was no way I was going to pass his class, I had to drop it to save my GPA. I've always done well in math, until i got to his class
Biggest jerk on the face on this earth. Everytime I asked for help I felt very stupid and then leading to very insecure. I would never approach him for help if it was the last thing I did. He needs an attitude change, and a different approach to his teachings.
Although he gives plenty of notes to try and explain the material, he fails at individually helping students as they come by. He says he's there to help, but he gives out the wrong impression when you actually get up there and ask him something. There's too many quizzes and tests to worry about, especially for a class that does a chapter each day.
He is a nice man, but hard to understand. He never appreciate, he never statisfy with his students, if I asked him something I feel I did something wrong.Don;t take his class unless you are smart in stats, his examples and home work is not hard but exams and quizes hard, he don't give grade easily.
He's harsh. Tons of homework, which is just for your own good, and it does count towards your grade. The quizzes and tests are horrible, and he never lets you use notes.
This guy is very unfair. He grades very detailed, miss one think, like computations on a calculator, and you miss points. He is an arrogant jerk and should not have classes, do not take!!
He is a smartest guy but he think everyone get this easily, he gave quizes and exams hard, but in final alll question are 90 percent same as quizes and exams, his way of grading is different but fair, he is not an easy man, if u wok hard in class then definetly u will get B in class. Good luck

In this class there were only tests that were graded. If you can't keep up with the homework, then you will probably just keep falling behind. I'm terrible at all math so I can't really blame Taylor for this. If you suck at Math, find the easiest teacher you can...
Most people in the class found the material very hard. He thinks he's really cool because he uses examples about iPod's and phrases like "this is the meat and potatoes." I agree he is totally arrogant and the class is boring.
Good Luck to anyone that takes him. He expects a lot. He'll explain a problem once and if you dont understand it, oh well.
I think he is a good teacher. If you pay attention in clas and come to class regulaly you will do well. His quizzes and tests are easy if you go over your notes. He is helpful when you ask him questions. But he is strict but if you read you will do fine.
I would highly recommend Taylor becuase he is a very nice teacher and very helpful teacher.If you read the notes he gives you will do fine on tests and quizzes.
He's kinda mean and is always in a rush he goes through a chapter a day and lives to finish the entire math book.. he seems impossible in the first weeks of class and you'll probably have a D or F in the class unless your a math creep... he gives a lot of extra credit and free points at the end of the semester go to class and dont give up!
The material is very difficult but if you go to class everyday and do the homework he is very flexible with extra credit and grading.
OMG his stats class is impossible!!! his final is way too complicated! he rushes through lectures expects everyone to know everything everyday! no extra credit! and he is a bit of an **** his attitude.. avoid him!
This guy is not worth any trouble. When you ask for help he makes you feel like your an imbecile and wasting his precious time. He has no patience. On the tests, even if you studied and are sure you did good, you didn't. Good at crushing your spirits though and bringing down GPA's.
I am a very good student, basically I have always gotten A's. I am in Chad's class now and am seriously worrying I may not pass. This class is incredibly rushed and he will move on whether or not the class gets it. The whole class fails quizzes and tests and he just moves on to harder material. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS!

If your retarded and dont do well in school, dont like to study to get a good grade, hate math, and hate learning stuff fast. Dont take his class. Im an A-B student, and this class is somewhat hard for me. But im still going to get an A, because i actually put in a little effort. If you're willing to come every time, it will help your grade .

well, chad taylor is overall a good guy. I just had his stats 165 class and i ended up with a C. I have to say that i am pretty solid in math and i got a C. He explains the material but you have to understand this is not easy material. For the difficulty of the material he does a good job at explaining it. He will give you the help if you ask
I had this guy for a teacher at Illinois State while he was a Grad Student, and he was awesome. I took him for Business Calculus, had a C going into the final, but thanks to the awesome final review he gave to us early in the semester I wound up getting an A on the final, and he gave me an A in the class. Extremely grateful for that.
I thought he was a pretty good teacher and was interested in what he was teaching. Although the class was really long and boring, he taught the material very well. The homework assignments were never due, but it was to your benefit to do them. As long as you study, you will do well on the quizzes and tests! A review test was given before test! :)

Even if you are an A student still don't waste your time by taking this class with him... His tests have nothing to do with what he teaches in class. :(
He is really hard, and he has very big attitude towards students. Complains about not getting paid enough. Teaches really fast. He thinks to much of himself. Likes to treat people like they are empty space.

Grade based mostly on test and quizes. Homework is never checked. But is required to do well on test and quizes. He uses same examples from class on his quizes and tests. So just copy everything he writes on the board and really do the practice tests that he gives before each test. I recieved an A+ in his class. Just study on the tests!!

This class in general is hard. Statistics isn't an easy concept. Alot of people don't like him cause I think he's a little blunt sometimes but I think his material is really easy to follow. If you take notes and pay attention you'll do fine, it's harder at first and gets easier. I'd recommend him.
WORST teacher at harper that i've ever had! He walked into class 20 minutes late every day and had a really cocky attitude all the time. He makes you feel like an idiot if you ask questions. And no, i'm not just a bitter student because i managed an A in his class but it was hell. DO NOT TAKE!!!PLEASE!!!

I understand that he may not be very approachable, but he DOES offer help if you ask him and he teaches his class in a way that makes difficult material easy to understand and even interesting. He has a systematic way of teaching that works great for the class. Do the homework. Go to class every day. Care, and you'll do well.
I took his class during last summer and his attitude scared me at first, he expects too much sometimes but if he knows what he's doing. You will succeed if you have an idea about what he's teaching. Overall he's a good teacher, I managed to get an A from his class without any difficulty but it's true that his class is challenging.

This teacher is horrible. He lecture teaches math, and barely gives you examples and expects you to know the material completely after one explenation. He makes you attend the tutor center once a week for 30 minutes EVEN if you don't need it, if you don't he WILL FAIL YOU.
He has a bad rap due to his masters in number theory. Nonetheless he knows his stuff for the most part. If some people would grow a pair and stop being intimidated by him they may realize he's a nice guy with alot of information.
He's fine. Tests and quizzes come straight from examples used in class and worksheets. Doing the homework helps! He lets you use cheat sheets on most exams. The textbook is really useful and easy to read. The material isn't always easy, but he helps you if you ask. He doesn't make you feel stupid if you don't understand something. Good prof overall
Although his Calc for Soc Science is a challenging course, Mr. Taylor teaches in a manner that is both orderly and clear. He offered elegant and coherent explanations of the often tricky concepts. Tests repeated material already encountered in the course; study the homework and quizzes, understand each problem, and get your A/B. Great instructor.
Good professor! If you take him, you will have to work hard, but that's the point. You only learn things from professors who challenge you! He was great at teaching calculus I!
He is a horrible teacher, There were 34 kids in the class and after the withdrawl date there were 5 I wouldnt take him if my life depended on it..HE SUCKS AT TEACHING! I wish I could get my money back!
Great teacher. Not the easiest, but if you study and pay attention in class you will have a B or better. He may seem unapproachable, but if you ask questions you will realize that he is willing to help you. Very professional.
He's a good teacher. A lil funny. Do the hw: he basically takes the quiz/test questions off of them. If you're dumb and you clearly show it, he wont like you(he wont take bs). Just show up for the class, dont interrupt, dont ask dumb questions, do the hw as much as possible, dont be lazy, youll pass easily.
He is a great professor when you do the work and show up. If you need help he will understand and walk you through it, you just have to make the effort. He is very easy to talk to and yes, sometimes, teaches the class as if everyone should understand him, but that's why you have hands, to raise them. Great guy, but only if you do your WORK~!

had him for the business Calc for the summer and i can say he is a very good math teacher. the homework is optional, but i recommend do it. His tests are very easy because he uses the same type of problem that he uses for in class example. no surprises on test, great teacher for Calc
Very nice teacher gives lots of extra credit. Take home tests and quizes, will also let you use notes on every quiz and exam thats in class. He doesnt seem to be liked questions though, thats the only compliant I had with him. Overall very good!!
It's math, so it takes actual effort and the lectures are naturally boring. That said, there are probably other teachers who are better at explaining the concepts. What I mean is that he's not a guy that makes you feel comfortable asking questions in class. It's not that he intentionally makes you feel stupid, it just doesn't seem well-received.
Chad Taylor is one of the most miserable human beings I have ever encountered! His lectures are too fast and confusing for the average students. He has standards way too high for a general 100 level course. He makes you feel stupid for asking questions. Very very difficult exams and quizes. zero personality. Stay away from This guy!! If the guy was any more full of himself he would explode. Usually in a math there is only one right answer to a question, for Chad there is no right answer, even if you get it right, you interpreted the wrong way, no matter how much your right, Chad says you will never be right

This teacher is a very nice guy. Sometimes, it's hard to understand his notes, but he doesn't ignore your questions. If you don't get something, after class, he'll definitely go over it with you however many times you need to. I got an A in this class, & although it wasn't easy, it was achievable. Just pay attention to his lectures & come to class!

I am currently a student of Chad's and if you ask me, he's a good teacher but tough. I feel like anyone who wrote badly on here about him were the ones who never showed up or did the homework or better yet, talked through all of class. You get the grade you deserve for the work you put into it. It's not high school anymore kids!
Don't take this class. Screw this guy. He has denied students of questions, and when he explains examples he starts making no sense. Everything is unclear, and you don't get credit for doing your homework, but he does check if you do it. If you don't do it you cant take the test.

Chad is a pretty good teacher. He is happy to help, just ask. I advise coming to class because we take notes and sometimes work in partners/groups which can be helpful. We've used notecards on every test/quiz which is awesome! He doesn't check homework, but doing it will help you a lot.

Chad was an awesome teacher. Many of these other comments seem like they didn't attend class too often. If you take notes, actually pay attention and do the work, you will get at least a B. He also taught at ISU so check out his ratings there too for a better view on him
Not to sound rude but this guy is very arrogant. He moves way to fast and he expects everyone to be able to right there with him. I was amazing at math through out my academic career and he left me dumbfounded. Do not take this class if you can't process information a mile a minute.
Mr Taylor was one of the best professors I ever had. He always answers to your questions so do not be afraid to ask (there are no stupid questions). Subject is not so easy but if you will do all homework and do not miss classes you will be just fine.
Chad is a pretty straight forward guy. Wants everything done his way. Make sure not to miss a single class because you will fall back. And its hard to catch up. He doesn't check hw but make sure you do it because it will only help you in the long run.
Warning: If you are like me and need to check your work with a calculator, do NOT take this teacher. He does NOT allow calculators! He is very arrogant and expects everybody to know how to do math at his level and if you don't, then you are screwed. Overall a good professor. He moves a little but fast at first but if you keep up through the first test you will be fine. He is always willing to help if needed. Its a note heavy class but they are extremely helpful and serve a purpose. I actually enjoyed math thanks to Chad

Before I took Chad's class I ignored the negative comments on this site. DO NOT DO THAT. He is without a doubt the worst teacher I have ever had. He moves quickly, makes you feel low and thinks you are there to praise his mathematical skill. I don't want anyone else to go through what so many students had to go through. CHAD NEEDS TO BE FIRED. I had Chad for Calc 3, the class is pretty difficult but Chad did a good job of answering questions and did a great job explaining the material covered. I went to his office hours a lot and he answered all my questions. If you put the effort in you will pass, but don't expect and easy A. Chad's a great guy, he gets a ton of hate on here though.
I would not recommend Chad Taylor. He is one of those teachers which treats you like an idiot. His teaching style is difficult to follow along unlike the other teachers. We started out with 30 students in the class and ended up with 6 students due to his teaching style and demotivation. Even if the class fails the test, he doesn't care. DO NOT TAKE
I thought he was a really good teacher, I understood the material well with him and he graded pretty fairly. The class itself is not too easy but, I would recommend this teacher to others.
He is one of the best teachers I've ever met - because he is enthusiastic about his subject and is willing to share his knowledge on the subject. Not only he showed HIS knowledge on the subject in class, but he also took a look at the other math topics I've brought into his office; not only he took a look, but he helped. I urge you for his MTH202.
Prof. Taylor is NOT a HS math teacher- he is a college professor and teaches you as a college student (if you want an easy, spoon-fed course, go elsewhere). He is extremely thorough, gives ample opportunity for one to seek assistance and ask questions, lectures are interesting. Advice: DO HW for a course that is not easy. (I received a C)
It was because of him that i got a D!! He speaks with all of these math terms and i could barely understand anything he said. He assumes you already know everything and he doesnt explain. Hated it!!

Great teacher. Very difficult class but is very clear on what he wants, and he teaches to your benefit (i.e. grades purely based on whether or not you know the concepts-not making algebraic mistakes). Takes a while to adapt to his teaching style but overall, he is everything I expected from a Calc III teacher.
I would never take him again! You can tell he enjoys math, however, he is always late to class. He gets mad at you when you ask a question and he does not explain things well at all. Attendance is mandatory if you expect to master the material. Tests are tricky but he prepares you for them and is willing to help outside of class. You'll have to work hard but I really liked him
Horrible teacher. He basically just tells you whats in the textbook but doesn't explain it. Does not give sample exams, lecture notes or worksheets; this makes it difficult to self study. He gives a lot of homework but doesn't grade any of it giving the students absolutely no reason to try. Take this class if you are going to study by yourself.
You can do all of the work throughout the semester but the final grade is all dependent on your final exam. Fail the final, fail the course. Exhausting to put in a staggering amount of studying to only receive results that don't reflect your efforts! Plus, he was never clear about what to study in the first place. AVOID AT ALL COSTS!!

The only grade in the class is the final exam. He assigns homework but doesn't grade it or go over it in class.

Chad Taylor holds a very high standard for his students. It will not be easy to get an A in his class. It might take more work outside of class than you are used to. This semester, fall 2014, the only grade we received in his class was the final(with a little extra credit built in). That being said, he is very willing to help you out along the way.
I attended every lecture and understood nothing with him talking down to me when I asked questions and collecting no homework because "he didn't have time". Homework assignments took longer than 14 hours a day. Exams were impossibly difficult. I got an A only because I was studied the book so carefully. He never once told me, "Good job." AVOID!
He does hold students to a high standard, and you have to put a serious effort into the course to do well. He is helpful if you ask. He's also a good lecturer and communicator. However his vector notation is needlessly confusing. Nobody underlines vectors Chad, that's barbaric. You put an arrow on top for a vector. Get it together.
Avoid at all costs. He's a terrible professor. He refuses to curve even when the averages are in the low 60's. His lectures consist of him working out problems on the board trying to show off his intelligence. Literally the worst professor I have ever taken. If he's your only option, take the class another semester.
Chad is super chill. He makes class fun and time flies by. He likes to explain things in an overly complicated way so it was a little difficult at first, I would recommend having your book out while hes lecturing just so you have something to compare it to. Quizzes were every other week and were somewhat difficult but he removes your 2 worst grades
Chad is really chill and easy to approach. His lectures are very helpful so if you miss a class it is easy to fall behind. If you follow your notes from his lectures and do the homework, you will have no problem getting an A.
I did well in this class, but still found it to be very difficult. Chad did offer office hours, which was helpful, but if you were to ask questions during class usually you would get your answer. He was very adamant about doing things his way though. His lecture guides were extremely helpful but differed from the layout of the book.
Chad is an amazing teacher, and he loves Math, Honestly he might have low reviews on here, but it seems like it's students that put in minimal effort give low reviews. THIS IS CALC-2 it's not an easy class. He will not pass you out of pity, However if you show him you know the material should be no problem passing. Do the homework and you pass.

Judgmental and accusing if you ask the "wrong" questions or just won't give you an answer at all. His lecture guides are CONFUSING and long. Homework is confusing and the book is horrible. I do not recommend this professor to anyone that is not 100% committed to calculus, he is the department chair of the math program at harper and he writes his own final. His final is the hardest final in the entire department and is the only grade that he uses to calculate your final grade, please do not take him if you are not good at calculus

Class was on campus but was basically an online class using the program ALEKS. The computer was the way we learned & practiced. He was only there if we had questions about whatever the computer was trying to teach us. When students asked questions, he explained but it was often unclear. It was basically an independent study hall where you do math.
This class is an online math class that meets at school. Mr. Taylor never teached, youre on your own. The worst part about this class is all the homework he gives. Theres over 200 math topics to finish before the semester ends, and getting them done is a struggle since he assigns about 20 topics a week to complete. Dont take him if youre lazy.
This class is online and generally is not that hard as long as you put the work in. Professor Taylor has a hard time understanding that usually people who take online classes have full time jobs. Half the assignments are due at noon and half at midnight. Also very rude jn email responses. Dont take this guy
Chad is a great teacher for students that WANT to learn. Taking his class, he makes it very clear what you need to do to get a good grade. If you do the work, you'll get the grade. He is very knowledgeable about the field of math, and it shows in his lectures. It can be a bit confusing, but just ask him to elaborate and he will. Overall, great guy.
Avoid his online class at all costs. There are basically three different teachers - Taylor, My Stats Lab, and some youtuber that isn't him. None of these "teachers" are on the same page. This may make it easy for Chad, but it wreaks havoc on the student. If you want to retain any information or just want to succeed, AVOID THIS PROFESSOR!
Chad is very funny and usually friendly. Very clear how to pass, the only grades are test and quiz grades, and he lets you know that you must study and pay attention to succeed. Good teacher, the only complaint I have is he sometimes makes mistakes on his answer keys for homework. Many kids blame him because the course is tough; this is irrational.
He expects too high of students. He does not really explain well in lectures. There is a test every other week and it all stacks up weirdly. Grades no homework and gives answers in the back... the answers are not specific at all. You dont really learn anything in there. He also makes you sound dumb when you ask questions, but he is nice in a way.
Definitely not easy, but it is certainly possible to get an A. He seems like a really tough teacher, but hes actually pretty awesome if you look at situations from his perspective. Hes not an easy A, and you may not like how he talks, but he is certainly there to help you when you ask!
The M225 class he teaches is pretty straightforward. You attend class, he lectures and gives homework. If you wanna get an A, you must do the homework. The quizzes and tests are exactly like the homework, so doing it would set you up for success. It's not easy, but an A is definitely attainable. Just do the damn homework.
He was an ok Math professor. He does not go over the homework and does not check for homework completion for points so I recommend highly to do the math homework because it helps a lot to succeed in his tests. His tests have similar set up to the homework. He explains his lectures unclear at times and sometimes he goes fast in lectures.
He gets you to withdraw from the class after I finished most of the semester, barely passing. Don't waste your money. He is rude and arrogant. He does not care about whether you pass or fail. Will never answer questions. Condescending and patronizing. Top worst teacher at Harper. Don't ruin your transcript to take this class. Find ANYONE but him.
All he talks about are sports and flies through lectures with definitions rather than examples, leaving you more confused leaving than why you came in.
Terrible teacher. Expects everyone to everything even though he doesn't teach it at all. Very rude pushes for you to drop the class even over emails he sends to all the students in the class. For his weekly "quizzes" he does a half assed lecture on YouTube then shouts out a random number for a quiz with no questions and feedback. Rude and arrogant.
I enjoyed the setup Mr. Taylor has for his online course, meaning his lectures are created himself with videos and worksheets spread throughout (No textbook necessary). His personality; however, leaves little to be desired. He has a condescending tone when responding to emails and pushes for students to withdraw from the class multiple times.
If math isn't your strongest subject I HIGHLY recommend you find a different professor. He really doesn't care about your outcome in this course even if you're busting your ass and need it for a pre-requisite. He is also not the easiest person to communicate. His lectures are bad and half the time they aren't updated and he posts them late.
Not recommended for online. He pushes students to withdraw throughout the semester and is condescending when answering emails. Claimed you could only get one letter grade above your final exam score regardless of your overall class grade, but didn't actually go through with this rule. He's a hard teacher but an A is possible with effort.
He let us grade our own exams sometimes which was kinda weird. But when he graded them himself, he was such a tough grader. NO HW or quizzes. I wish he picked better examples for his lectures too. STEER CLEAR!

Easily the worst class I've ever taken. The only thing you're graded on in the class is tests. The day before the tests if you ask him what's on them, he doesn't even know. Impossible to prepare well for the tests. Very condescending if you ask any questions. Expects you to know everything after one horrible lesson. Do NOT take this class.

I was afraid to take this class due to the reviews and it being my first online course. He does come off intimidating when you ask questions. I recommend if you have to take him, take his online course. He was very organized in his notes and clearly lays out what he wants. If you don't manage your time well, don't take this class; you won't pass.
The absolute worst professor I have ever had in my life, stay away at all costs. He gets mad really easily and creates side conversations during lectures that take away from your learning and then grades everything extremely harshly. I had to use tutors to teach me almost the entire course. He also made 100% of your grade based on the final. Avoid.
Wow, I've gained a lot of knowledge in this class. Professor Taylor made me work for it but his video lectures are what made the online class relatively straightforward. I managed to do well while taking four other classes so it's not as bad as others say. Whether you're in someone else's class, keep in mind that Statistics will not be any easier.

Everything is laid out perfectly clear. Easy to follow lecture guides that go perfectly with the homework, which goes perfectly with the tests, success. I've seen him come off as rude but it's b/c he literally lays out everything you need and people ask dumb questions. Doesn't get enough props for taking the time to make the class free. Take him.
So far I enjoy the class (statistics). I was intimidated by the reviews, but I decided that I work hard anyway and should be fine. So far so good. I like how he lays out his notes and gives note quizzes to ensure that youre paying attention to the material. He has obviously put a lot of time and effort into organizing this online course.
He definitely makes you work for your grade, which i understand, but even with putting hours into the notes and homework, hes blatantly rude when you get something wrong and grades ridiculously straight. I took his class despite his reviews because I had no other options, and it was manageable but WOW was he rude and disrespectful.

Chad is taking points away just because someone gets to the right answer different ways. Be ready to watch hundreds of short videos that contains answers for quizes that are due weekly plus Writing samples(type of short exam). Unit tests, midterm, final. Lots of work for little points. Wording is very confusing.
I've never regretted taking a course as much as I have this one. Chad is an intense grader, and will dock you points on things that aren't related to math (punctuation, etc.) Himself and his class are extremely boring, and an ungodly amount of videos will be forced on you every chapter, a lot unneccessary. He's a nice guy, and learning in person during class is fine. But forget about understanding anything of his online or away from him. He does not know how to use technology to his advantage and makes everything super difficult to follow and understand. He is also very particular on wording and showing your work.

I took this class last summer and all i have to say is it was a horrible decision. He is incredibly rude and even though he makes it seem like he wants to help he does not. I would recommend taking this class with any other instructer.
I learned to parrot the instructor more than understanding the material to get by. It's a calculator not a statistics class. He knows his material and could've been a great experience. The focus was to control rather than teach. He could be rude. Too much homework and I learned nothing. Glad the nightmare is over. This is my first B. All other: As!

Another time he took off all of the points on a question because I forgot to add a comma. He belittles you and puts you through torture. Doesnt care about you or your time, so dont give it to him. His tests are impossible, you wont get that much time. He doesnt respond to emails and expects everyone to know the material without problems. Homework and lectures are useless because the homework is from the book and they dont reflect the tests. You grade is determined by five tests ONLY. You will mentally break down. Good luck.
Imagine learning Calculus 3 by just reading. That's it. Does it sound impossible? That's because it is. And that's the experience you'll get as Chad Taylor as your Calculus 3 teacher. But don't worry, he'll explain some concepts in 3-minute videos! I withdrew this course because it didn't work for me and because it was a very hostile environment.
Do not take Prof Taylor for MATH 202 - Calc III. Some people just should NOT be a teacher and Prof Taylor is one of those people. He is super smart and can do any of the problems in a few seconds and he knows the answer to any question you could ask which is probably why he was hired... BUT he makes his class 10 times harder for no reason.
I dont know what to say. I cant believe some people like him actually exist. If I have learned anything from this guy it is that Professor Taylor doesnt care about any of his students, their time, effort and education. Find a better Professor and save your time and money.
This is the worst professor I've ever had. All my life I do very well in math but when it comes to him he makes math the worst subject. He does not even teach anything he just makes videos of him doing the problems and expects all of us to do well on assignments. His feedback is harsh and gives no constructive criticism. If you choose Professor Taylor, know that you will be self-studying Calc 3. The materials provided are completely insufficient. Any questions will be met with a snarky, passive-aggressive answer. There are no lectures. There are no graded assignments other than tests, so you can't get any feedback. Exams are miles more difficult than the textbook.
Will take points off for the dumbest reasons like not having a period at the end of a sentence. Says that he's best person to go to for help, but won't help you when you email him and ask. He just tells you it's in the lecture notes and to go find it. I had to study a lot to get a 100% on the final. He will be ok if you have no other option.

Reading these reviews before taking him made me really worried. I later found Professor Taylor is actually straightforward and is willing to meet whenever you need help. Learning Calc 3 online requires you to utilize all potential resourcesI did all the review problems, visited office hours, made tutoring appointmentsand it paid off entirely.
This class is extremely tough and fast-paced. You're 100% on your own, so it's easy to fall behind. Also, the notes are super confusing. I highly recommend scheduling OH meetings with him whenever you can. He's flexible with time and there to help. Talk to him (he is understanding). You HAVE to work hard because the exams are far from easy.
This professor is not as bad as the reviews say. The videos we are required to watch are VERY helpful and easy to understand. If you properly took notes, youll notice how he uses some of the video problems in the tests. Midterm is a nightmare though. I got a F on it. I emailed him how to get my grade up and he gave me advice and it ended good.
Professor Taylor only grades you on 5 tests and the final. The tests are super tough and he is a tough grader. I went to the tutoring center for help and he said that I shouldn't have gone to them. He is also rude and condescending. Despite this, he is much more understanding if you talk to him over zoom than over email.
Just an average teacher. If he is the only person you can take, nothing to be scared of, he will teach you what you need but you just gotta be ready to learn and practice everything.

Honestly, the course itself wasn't bad but EVERYTHING depends on the final no matter if you have an A in the class, if you do badly on the final then your grade will drop significantly. The professor locked me out of completing my required assignments for the first two days of class, causing me to have to scramble to complete my work by the due date. Worst professor ever you come in asking for extra help and he advises you to drop the course. Must complete the homework assignment before being allowed to take the exam and if you are late in anything he says you have already sunk the ship. If you are not an INDEPENDENT learner, do not select this professor. He does not review any material you have learned in previous classes that you likely need to brush up on. He teaches in such a fashion that assumes the student has not forgotten any mathematical manipulations/methods. His exams are more difficult than homework problems assigned.
Took him for Bus Stats. Each week there was a lecture guide with multiple videos of him working through problems. There are practice homework assignments as well as graded worksheets due at the end of each week. There are 4 exams + midterm & final. If he is the only person you can take, do it. Just watch the videos and do the practices.
Don't EVER take professor Taylor. He doesn't care about his students and clearly does not care about what he is teaching. Failed and wasted another semester of my life, and I will have to retake this course a third time.

This class was absolutely gruesome. This professor clearly has no sympathy for his students. If you are in a good mental state, I suggest you stay away because it will definitely change that. Be prepared to lose your sanity.
Strict Grader-- nothing special--, but a lot of writing in this class. Professor Taylor expects you to be able to answer each question all written out in short amount of time for exams and such. Will doc points without clearly pointing out the mistake sometimes, will require you to put in extra work just to review for yourself.
Extremely hard class, he posts long notes every week including mandatory videos to go over that count towards grade as well, has no class time and grades very strictly (over things like not phrasing sentences properly or using incorrect language - acts like an English teacher when he should be spending time teaching math instead). Tons of homework.
-Gives us 60 minutes to complete a midterm -Each question takes a couple of minutes to solve and another min just to write it all out in the English format he wants us for full credit probably just to deduct those exact points because the wording wasn't "good enough". - :)

A tough class if you aren't into math. Has pretty much nothing to do with all previous algebra/calculus classes, it's a completely different stuff. You must read everything from the book (20-30pages) and watch ~15videos 2-5min long. Homework is huge. ~6tasks with 3-10subtasks. You have 1 week to complete. New week new topic, you forget everything
Even though I'm on track for an A in the class, do not take Chad. Every single review here is true if you're wondering. He's a condescending prick, and takes pride in marking you off every chance he gets, even if you miss a period. He even called RateMyPrfoessors an example of a "bad statistic" and one you shouldn't trust, and you can see why.

His lectures are incredibly hard to follow, especially since due to copyright reasons, he doesn't even show the book in his videos. Read and teach yourself or fail.
I hope this teacher finds a different career because this one is obviously not for him. He fails to represent himself as an actual teacher with how he organizes his class. An example of this is how on orientation day he states that "if you're not an independent learner you should drop". Should be enough for you to know that he's a trash teacher
Chad Taylor does not teach you anything. He does not have any recorded lectures or notes. His class is fully textbook based and you have to teach yourself everything. On the first day, he tells everyone "you should drop this class if you are not a independent learner". In other words, he does not teach anything.

This class is very difficult, and the only way to pass this class is by passing the test. The lecture doesn't match to homework, and you don't get credit for your homework and you don't have to submit homework, all you do is test and read professor's lecture guide and watch his short videos, which are not helpful.
You are going to learn it all by yourself. It makes no sense to make this choice. Your overall average will be based on the unit exams and the final. It seems ok first, but believe me, it's not. Very tough grader. No homework and EC at all. Consider other options if you have one.

AVOID. I had questions on the homework, he preached about contacting him if we ever need help because he wants to teach us but when i did, he told me he couldn't help me and left zoom. His "lectures" aren't helpful. They don't tell you how to do the problem. He also considers the tutor cheating. the tutor helped me with the work and he failed it.

This is my second time having him and I thought it couldn't be as bad since I've went through it before but I was wrong. It's as if he cares more about giving you a bad grade than teaching and acctually going through things with you. You can even send him specfic emails and ask for help and if anything it makes it more confusing. Dont take this guy

The worst professor I've ever had. Made my semester a living nightmare. He will turn off your access to the course if he feels like it, will make you attend 1 on 1 zooms just to berate you. His grading criteria is extremely harsh. He will nitpick every little detail to give you the worst grade possible. He takes pride in failing his students.
I took his online precalc course and although theres a lot of assignments, if you just do them youll pass. He also was flexible with time and topic goals for all assignments. Alot of these reviews are pretty harsh but from my experience he was very understanding and easy to reach.
Took this online class for business statistics. Every week there is an assignment due and there is work to look back on for you to lead an example of how to answer. There are 4 exams in the semester, a mid term and final which are timed. Prepare time, do well, you will succed.

I would NEVER take this professor again and would NOT recommend ANYONE to take him whatsoever, even if it's your last and only choice, i'd wait till the next semester.
The WORST professor I have ever had. The online class is all on Aleks and the amount of work load week by week is ridiculous. you have to complete at least 10 hours on the website and complete 25 topics weekly, sometimes its more. he has no lecture videos, so all of your learning will be done using the explanation screen you'll get for each topic

I need to retake this class, but I will in no way consider doing it with him. Usually, there were lectures to watch, homework to do, and tests (not timed except midterm and final).
I don't know, maybe his in-person classes are better, but the online ones are quite difficult. I took his online Calc 3 class and had to drop within a month or so. There were hardly any lecture videos to go with the lessons which was really annoying. You have to read the textbook a lot with only a few short videos sprinkled in. Wouldn't recommend.
This class was beyond intense. His class was nothing but bombardment, and he encourages you to drop his class unless you meet his very specific criteria. He also required having meetings where he asked questions such as why you took such and such an amount of time to do something, why you logged in more than once, or why you were distracted.

I ended up withdrawing past the refund period, but honestly, it was worth it for both my GPA and my mental health. I genuinely don't think I would have finished this class the same person I was before. It feels more like he's grading for “compliance” than actual understanding.
Personally i liked this guy. he gets his stuff done and when you talk to him one on one, hes really chill. he might be a bit rough with grading but it got me to understand the math material a lot better this way. he used ALEKS as our textbook and sure its annoying, but this made it easier for me to learn and teach myself the topics needed.
