Prof. Chad is extremely intelligent and precise in his lessons. He is easy to follow and available for any extra information and guidance. His test are always multiple choice and usually pretty easy. Highly recommended for BioSci and Human Bio
he plays favorites and discourages individuality, not a favorite teacher of mine, if anything one of the few teachers i would rather have gone without
he is an amazing teacher lectures are fun and easy to follow gives great analogies to simple things while teaching a difficult subject i highly recommend him for lecture and lab.
good teacher makes jokes but never seems to crack a smile. hes also hot but he has a wedding ring.
Tests are not hard as long as you study. Class is not alot of work. I would take him again if I could.
Very smart in his field. He is very challenging and very clear in his lectures. He has cheesy jokes but his lectures are very interesting. Very good teacher.
not very enthusiastic... a little boring... i slept through every class... i wouldnt take him again

I find him funny...he is always making jokes, making a boring class more enjoyable! The tests aren't so bad, he tells you what is on them and doesn't give you anything unexpected.
Really nice, young, eager to teach. Real smart, he wrote the lab book. If you are cool with him, he is cool with you.
If you have to take a bio class, this is the guy to do it with. He breaks down things so they can be understood and I dig his dry sense of humor that is never lacking. He is helpful if you need an extra understanding of something and as long as you keep up on the material and read along, he makes a hard course easier.
great professor.
When I first came to his class I thought it was going to be difficult to deal with this professor, but I was wrong. As long as you show effort, that was good enough for him. I grew to like him very much. Not all of his joke are funny, but some of them crack me up. I would recommend him for anyone who is interested. OOh and his hot.
he is great and his classes are not so bad but the tests are a little hard. you have to check your notes
i lovee professor thompson he's the best he gives great notes everything is clear.. definitely take him if you have to take human bio. not too bad to look at either haha.
This class was super-easy and fun. He makes learning seem like nothing. He explains everything very well and breaks it down so it makes sense. He is also really funny.
Professor Thompson very good at explaining things, and his tests are easy as long as you pay attention and study (which you should do anyway you are in college) but if you ask for help outside of class dont expect to get any, ask a classmate !
Very textbook and basic.
tries to crack jokes all the time, half of them aren't funny. kinda rude to students, have to study for tests and read text, doesn't give many notes, test are hard, only good thing is he gives +5 if you don't miss a class..don't listen to these other posts class ruined my GPA! had a 4.0. if you have to take him take someone else for lab!
he's a GPA killer. rude and sarcastic, too. lab tests are not supposed to be this hard.
Really easy class. Breaks down info very well. I didn't find the lab class is too easy nothing to worry about it. The only thing that made me mad was that I had an 89 average which is considered a b+ I was 1pt away from an A. He's weird on grades.
decent teacher. cracks a lot of jokes some funny but most not. can be sarcastic sometimes. his tests are kind of hard but he usually puts some extra credit. you need to read the textbook to do good. also he doesnt put his notes online so you cant print them for urself. overall though hes not that bad
Tests are VERY tricky - Material should be easy but the tests have questions not explained in class nor found in the texbook - 4 Test, 1 midterm and 1 final - All multiple choice questions, but again, very tricky - Not worth to jeopardize your GPA -Take someone else if you can.
I was sooo happy I got Prof. Thompson for this class. he tells you what you need to know but dont be fooled, he expects you to know it. Really explains well. I wish he taught A&P2. He gives you extra credit on questions if you make the suggestion and you doint have to call him unless you plan to miss a test.
TAKE MR. THOMPSON CLASS IF YOU WANT TO COME OUT OF A&P1 AND REMEMBER WHAT YOU'VE LEARNED.
He is tricky. Don't trust what he says will be on the test. He only tells you half the information. Good luck!
He sucks as a proffesor.he isn't clear with way he's teaching and has no enthusiasm for what he does.may have to take it again
He was a excellent professor to learn from. Class was fun. his jokes were corny but he is cool.
ughhhh...... didn't like this teacher at all -__- when he talks its very unclear what he is talking about .. he uses terms that make you even more confused then you were before.. he is some what full of himself don't be fooled by the funny jokes the first day of class the rest of semester you will be sleeping..
AWWW DONT LIKE HIM. HIS QUIZ WAS CONFUSING AND HARD FOR NO REASON. HE MAKES CORNY JOKES SAYS WATS GOING TO B ON THE TEST THEN THE TEST HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT SMH
Not as bad as I had feared from previous comments on this site about Prof Thompson. He does crack bad jokes and not always timely correcting stuff, but as a teacher he is effective at clearly presenting the material and is willing to meet & review w/students during office hrs. I don't think tests were horribly difficult. Just be dilligent to study.
Had him for Gen Bio 1 Lab. I thought he was a good lab teacher. He tries to make jokes as he goes along and he's pretty lay back. Tests are not too bad if you study. The subject matter is tricky. I would take him again.
while reading these prier comments, I was apprehensive to take his class, but once I was there it was great. Attendance is not mandatory, but you would miss a lot if info if you do miss class. His tests are not easy, but if you pay attention you should have no problem. Lastly, the text is used very little, he only tests you on what is said in cla
Great teacher. At first you may think he is a little unfriendly, but after a while you realize he just has a very dry (and somewhat twisted) sense of humor. He's constantly making jokes in class. He really knows the subject and teaches it well. You just need to study what he tells you to study and you'll do fine. I would take him again.
AWWW DONT LIKE HIM. HIS QUIZ WAS CONFUSING AND HARD FOR NO REASON. HE MAKES CORNY JOKES SAYS WATS GOING TO B ON THE TEST THEN THE TEST HAS SOMETHING DIFFERENT SMH!!!!!!!!!!!!11
He's really funny, I'll give him that ! However his tests have nothing to do with whats in the textbook. Its basically useless to have one because regardless if you read it or not, it has nothing to do with what he teaches in his lecture. DONT TAKE LAB WITH HIM ! LAB SHOULDNT BE HARD, it should BE HANDS ON and learning.
I think he's a good professor. Seems unapproachable but his humor is dry that's all. Tests aren't that easy but put in the effort and STUDY!
Had him in the summer 2012 session. He jokes around here and there,(little dry, still funny) but he definitely knows what he is talking about (Cornell Grad). Tests are not easy, and forces you to think. I would DEFINITELY recommend talking him. Missing days will guarantee that you mill material.
Dislike this professor and thinking of withdrawing from this course! Treats students like grade schoolers , is very unapproachable and does not have any compassion toward students. Worst class of the semester for sure.
I absolutely loved Professor Thompson and would recommend him to anyone. He provides a guideline on what to study prior to the test which really helps. I found his lectures extremely interesting and I think he is hilarious. Wish he taught A&P II this past semester.
Honestly, I will say Professor Thompson is a great professor overall. He pushes you to the limit to ensure you know his material, which he makes you think beyond basic knowledge. If you don't have the drive to excel you won't make it out his class alive. Challenge is always good. Love him! Might take him for A&P 1.
Professor Thompson is great! Some people don't enjoy his humor quite as much as I seem to but I think he's hilarious. Someone mentioned previously that he wasn't compassionate and he's unapproachable which couldn't be more wrong. He was always understanding and if you put in the effort so will he. I definitely recommend him!!!!
Had Thompson for A&P1 lab this past semester. Not even going to lie, he is intense BUT if you actually dedicate the time and study the right way, you will do well. He's a great professor - it's really up to you to decide the type of grade you want to EARN. And I think he's hysterical, but I was definitely the only one laughing in my class lol
Took him for Human bio 2 this fall. He's not easy but you'll love him if u STUDY the material. I learnt a lot from his class. His funny jokes & personal stories makes the class lively. Don't miss a class! Text book never used in class but I strongly recommend it! He has a wealth of knowledge! Choose him if you're ready to learn.
I like this professor because he wants you to learn the material. Not easy on his tests, so be prepare. Easy to understand and gives good examples. His class is very entertained. If he repeats the same word is because is definitely coming on his test. He is lovely very helpful. Most of his test question he explain at class, so don't miss!
I busted my butt to get an A in this class. Funny guy, but very disorganized. Started out taking attendance everyday, giving a quiz every class, and handing out note packets on the material... but gave up on doing all of those a month into the semester. Always handed tests back late and wouldn't go over parts that most of the class got wrong.
I had him for a a&p 1 lab and did pretty well. When he gives you a sheet to study make sure you know every single detail on that sheet. Do not cram on his tests it does not work. He does not curve or drop the lowest grade basically what you get is what you deserve. His tests are not easy so don't take them lightly. Overall I learned a lot.
Can be funny and makes the class enjoyable at times, but I feel as if he made the tests too difficult. In order to get a high grade, I had to focus a great amount of attention on his class while neglecting my other classes. Good to take if you are comfortable with test taking.
In order to do well on his tests, you really need to study and understand the material. However, he is very intelligent in what he teaches and I always caught myself laughing in every one of his classes. I definitely recommend him.
Course is alright. I mean the professor is very kind/funny/smart and he has always positively responded to the numerous dumb questions I've asked him. I recommend this professor over anyone else. As long as you study like a couple hours a week you should be fine.
Prof. Thompson is truly a gem. He is hilarious, thorough, and his tests are easy. Do yourself a favor. DO NOT TAKE NOTES. Just listen to him and you'll notice that his tests are similar to what he says in lecture. This is my second time taking this professor and I do not regret it.
He's a great teacher willing to help you take notes listen to him in lecture. I would recommend.
I suggest printing the PowerPoints to take notes on them for this class. Some of the topics are a bit in-depth, so it helps that I already took Bio 101. You're graded on 5 tests and 4 relatively short papers, which he had all semester to assign, but made them all due in the last month. Pay attention to his lectures; they will help with the tests.
I did not enjoy this class as much as I thought I would. Sitting through a lecture is long and boring. We did 3 papers, if you follow the instructions you will get an A on each one, the readings are boring though. The tests are tricky and not easy. The biology aspect of this class makes it not fun. I wouldn't take again.
Mr. Thompson was a great teacher and his class really helped me succeed. I would love to take his class again. He is easily understood and when something was unclear he was easy to approach. When something stumped me he was very helpful in making it understandable. He gave reasonable amount of tests and quizzes. I learned a lot of important things.
Enjoyed class. Funny and straight to the point.
Summer course; Lots of exams, but easy and he's extremely clear
Had him for the summer session, his quizzes were all fair just put in the work and you will get a good grade.
As long as you take notes of what he presents to you, you will be fine. I was very idle that's why I didn't get a better grade than a B. He is a great professor.
Took bio 2 in the summer, clear lectures, everything is straight form the PP
he gives no extra credit. his test are short answers. does not check lab book but test heavy on it.
His lectures and the power points are exactly what's on the test. He has dry humor, which I appreciate. His test aren't hard and he tells you exactly what you need to know. I didn't use the textbook.
His test are extremely difficult. You really have to listen in order to pass make sure you take notes in everything he says or your going to fail. Says test are easy but thats a lie. Just study study as much as you can.
He is okay. Talks too much during his labs, overall not a bad person. Just a tough grader, have to really work for your grade.
Doesnt care too much about attendance. His dry humor makes the class go by faster. He gave us extra credit, put in the work and youll get a good grade, simple. Overall great professor.
Chad is pessimistic for a being chair of the AS in health science. I would not recommend Taking his class if you dont want to hear how the class is failing as a whole while in lab. His labs are also dry and pretty unretainable due to rushing through slides and information. He doesnt distinguish cells and their differences. His class was anatomy
Doesn't care about attendance, but everything on the tests are discussed in class. Gives extra credit and is really clear spoken. Class was easy for me to learn, but can get really boring if your not motivated as a good student should. Definitely would recommend if you are willing to put the effort into class, no hw so tests count a lot.
You just have to take notes of what he says in class and you will pass... he is amazing
Tests were all taken from the slides he provides. Attendance was not mandatory but advised since he thoroughly reviews each slide for a better overall understanding. Hes a tough grader but he did offer optional extra credit online homework. Overall he is a great professor and I actually learned from his lecture class.
If you study you will get an A!!! . Make sure to study for the final because its 35% of your final grade. He gives weekly quizzes and at the end of the semester they average to a regular exam which helps a lot. Made a boring class fun, sad I couldnt take him for ANP 2 .
He's not a bad guy, has dry humor. Your'e going to WORK for your grade! His test are tricky, he makes them himself. It's NOT an easy class don't expect for it to be a stroll in the park. Took the summer course and had a total of 16 exams including labs and finals. Good Luck! Hard but NOT impossible!
I highly recommend him if we still have online classes for regular classes. He has very funny side comments about topics which you have to closely look out for. Extremely caring and will give extensions on homework. He really wants to make things easier for us during this difficult times. Tests are kind of hard but not impossible. 10/10
Professor Chad is really caring and goes straight forward to the objectives of class. I had him for lab (online) and he was very accessible out of class responding to e-mails, throws jokes during the lectures to make it sound less heavier. It's a pity that it was online, but I'm sure he is as good as in person.
I wish I wouldn't have taken his class this semester. He talks in a very slow and monotone voice so it's really hard to stay focused throughout his class, I had to basically re-teach the lessons to myself to fully understand. His tests are also hard, he only gives 50 min for 50 questions so you have to be really prepared and quick.
Professor Thompson is a really great person. He's a great teacher and overall a pretty chill person. If you need help with anything, he will do the best he can to re-explain directions or lectures. Sometimes it's kinda hard to understand the lecture because sometimes he gets off track explaining other things, but often he teaches well.
Professor Thompson was a great professor. He takes the time to explain concepts in a digestible way while also taking time to answer any questions you have, during class or after. Your grade will depend on a few exams taken throughout the semester (with the lowest grade being dropped). Take time to understand the material and you will be fine.
Absolutely awesome if you can get passed the monotone voice. He makes good jokes if you listen hard enough. He knows his shit. Will call you out if you're on your phone. He is sincere and wants to help you do well but you have to advocate for yourself.
The hw took rlly long and the lectures were boring. The tests can be very difficult but if you do the hw that helps. Good luck if you take this course.
At first Professor Thompson can look intimidating, but he is an amazing professor! He gives a reasonable amount of homework to boost the grades, but they are easy though. He is a really fair grader, so if you attend class and study is slides closely, you will do just fine.
He is funny, very smart and genuinely dedicated to helping you succeed. I took him for Spring BIO 115 session for both lab and lecture and he's geniunely a nice guy. If you're deciding whether or not you should take his class ask yourself if you're ready to work for a good grade. His tests are TOUGH, study study study. Don't attend at your own risk
There's homework for the class but it's a relatively small % of the grade. The class is test-heavy but if you actually review the material, do the hw, and use the learning objs, the tests are extremely fair. I didn't realize how effective the learning objs were until much later. Very clear in expectations & everything you need is posted BrightSpace
Honestly this class was hard for me. Professor Thompson is a good professor its just the way the grading for biology classes consist of mainly just tests(Which I found to be difficult especially unit 3) that make it harder to pass but not impossible. Studying the slides and learning objectives helps ALOT. Class is all memorization so active recall
Cool professor, he gives you learning objectives to focus on so you're well prepared for the exams, and drops your lowest lecture exam.
Always late, too many tangents, tests and homework/class slides don't connect much making exams difficult, bad with emails, and I also don't appreciate his attitude most days.
I enjoyed his lectures. Difficult to translate lecture slides into studiable material for tests. Appreciated he dropped lowest grades. I think if I was more diligent I could have done better. Homework is not super relevant for tests, but is not difficult to do well. I think he is a chill dude who might not really enjoy teaching lower level classes.
I would recommend him but you got to be serious and put a lot of time into studying. His slides are supposed to prepare you for your exams. I passed the class I didn't study as much as I was supposed to. My advice study every day any chance you get because the test questions would be really hard for you if you didn't study at all.
He is a very good teacher and personality! He cares about his students.
Best Biology professor ever, His study guides are all you need to study for the exam. He is easy to understand, an amazing professor, he is caring, passionate and funny. Very interesting. He is easy to talk to and is a genuine person. I had alot of professors before but he is the kindest & most knowledgeable out if all of them. take his class now!
He is honestly a very good professor he's nice and lenient at times. The study guides look exactly like the exams. Homework's are not extremely long. Makes good jokes sometimes. Also gives you analogies to help you understand concepts. Drops your lowest exam grade for lec and lab. Study study study!!
Super chill and low-pressure. Lectures are all posted, just read everything on Brightspace and study hard. Lab is simple if you show up and stay on track. Make sure to focus on his learning objectives!!! they're the source of the test questions.
Chad is theeee FUNNIEST professor you will never a boring lecture . He drops your lowest test scores for both lecture and lab. He does assign homework from the textbook but they are all due at the last day of class. You will need to study for this course. He has office hours which I found helpful. He is just a chill guy overall.
the people who complain about this class do not study.
