Professor Virtanen was absolutely amazing. He leads the class in such a great way and knows exactly what he is talking about. Everyone in class was involved because he mad world religion that interesting! He goal is not to fail you, and he will make that clear on the first day of class. I would do it all over again.

Professor Chad was the BEST professor! This class was too easy to not pass. He's straightforward and makes everything clear. He is not out to fail you! In fact he encourages everyone to pass his class with an A. The lowest you should get in this class is a B. The midterm and final were the easiest test you can take. I encourage everyone to take it.

No matter how busy u are, u won't want to miss a single lecture because he is simply that amazing!!! He's there for u, explains the work clearly, involves everyone, really takes the time to know his students. I could go on and on- This man is legendary!

Easy A as long as you do the work. There is homework but he makes it very clear he doesn't want long drawn out essays. He want 3 to 4 sentences just to know you did the work. He gives you the review for the mid term and final with the answers so all you have to do is memorize that. His lectures are great and funny. Take him and you won't regret it!

Professor chad is really nice and helpful. he makes sure that you understand the material, he tries to involve every student in his lectures.

It was an OK class. The assignments are a bit a tedious, the quizzes are a bit tough but the he is a great professor. The syllabus and the whole setup on D2L was a bit confusing but he has no problem explaining it (more than once).. ***For the introverts out there--He wants you to get into groups almost every class for case studies, but it was fun.

He is terrific! He makes you want to attend class! I recommend him a thousand times over!! Before him I used to hate discussing religion but now, it's a conversation I can have with ease. He really is AMAZING!

The best professor I've had so far. His classes are so much fun and interesting you wont want to miss any. He explains everything in a great amount of detail and doesn't babble on and on about his own life like many teachers do. He's young and funny and so makes jokes which the class can relate to and laugh at. I recommend everyone take his class.

One of the best teachers I have ever had. Him as a person as well as an educator was fundamentally sound. I learned a tremendous amount in this class. Very honest and direct, he love to see success and coaches up failure.

Really great teacher, he is funny and nice and will reply to emails quickly. He just give lectures and all the work is online. Once a week assignment which includes a discussion and mostly 4 questions and a quiz.

Professor Virtanen is an inspirational teacher. His class is very easy and he is very fair about the amounts of homework given. I would consider his class an easy A.

Professor Virtanen is an excellent and very cool professor. I took Rel2300 in the spring; it was 8 weeks long and a blended course. There are assignments and quizzes that are fair and optional assignments for extra credit. All work is online, even the midterm and final that whole class goes over beforehand. An A is guaranteed if actually care.

Of all my courses that i have took at broward college including North Campus, Central campus and online he is by far the best. Very smart and nice guy and knows alot about what he talks about. I seriously recommend him for any and everyone. Best religion teacher tbh. Not easy A but if you do the work given its very easy to get.

BEST PROFESSOR IN BROWARD COLLEGE EVER! You will learn so much in REL2300, the professor is very knowledgeable and very extroverted and brings in the class to discuss, i have never liked a class as much as his. SUPER EASY A!!

This class is so easy and actually really interesting. I was worried that a religion class would be just a professor preaching but it wasn't. Professor Virtanen is very open to every religion and seeks to explain them all. He's a very easy grader. I believe 6 modules in class and 6 online and you have until the last week in the class to do it all.

He knows his stuff! The class is easy, participation not required, but welcomed. He is a reasonable man. Not too passionate about teaching but you can tell he wants to share his knowledge to breed tolerance. Powerpoints didn't help as much as the lectures do. Listen carefully in class! Do all online assignments!

12 quiz online, midterm and final online, not protected, writing assignments, discussions. He is truly passionate about teaching and open to discussion. the class is super interesting and was my favorite class in BC so far! wish more instructors were like him. I really hope he would not burn out in time. TAKE HIM! you will actually learn something

Honestly, this is my second time taking this professor. When I first took this class I was honestly super lazy and the only reason I didn't get an A the first time is that I didn't do all the assignments, thinking it wasn't going to affect my grade very much. The second time around I did assignments any time i could and passed with a 98%.

Prof. Virtanen was probably one of the coolest professors I've had. This class is really interesting and pretty cool. All of the assignments and quizzes are online and there are a lot of ex. credit assignments too. You don't HAVE to go to class but it's recommended. He's a really cool and funny prof. Take him!

Professor Virtanen is awesome. I had an 8am class with him, he made class so interesting that the time would fly by and it didn't even feel like it was the dreadful 8am everyone try's to avoid. The assignments that are mandatory are a bit extensive but if you stay on top of everything you should pass with an A. It is not hard, but time is key!

Amazing class! He respected the other religions and encouraged people to respect them as well. He didn't try to pour his personal beliefs on anyone. His lectures are interesting. Homework is easy. All quizzes due at the end of the term. You review all the answers that will be on the midterm and final, so those are easy too. Super interesting.

I swear there is no greater teacher at Broward College. He is awesomeeee. If you fail this class, you didnt show up and you didnt turn in a single assignment. There is no reason why anyone taking his class should fail. NONE AT ALL!

Really enjoyed his class. He is very passionate and enjoys talking about religion, hes funny too. This class is an easy A as long as you do the quizzes, discussions and the assignments, he also gives you a review for the exam and tons of optional extra credit. You do have to read quite a bit but its nothing too difficult.

Easy Professor. Screenshot and save all quizzes because those are the midterm and final. He will be changing his teaching strategy in 2020. Overall nothing hard, just busy work. Just show up, do the work, then dip. Only flaw, he doesnt keep up with emails. Funny how he stresses it but rarely answers them. Youll be okay. Take it and move with life

Now, it's not to say the guy didn't try. And, he had his situation against him - he was recreating his entire class during ours. But, despite that, he was great. Did not like that he dropped a bunch of assignments he didn't have ready till the last week on us, but the class was easy and so were the quizzes and the dude is pretty cool. Bad w/ emails

He is a good professor. There are 6 discussions, a few quizzes, and a few other easy assignments. Also theres a final project, its a research paper, its a group paper so be prepared. Other than the final project this class is a breeze. Just do all the work and you should be fine. Hes easy going and a nice guy. take him!!

He is so open minded. He engage his students so coming to class doesnt feel like a requirement. Youll want to be there to hear all the amazing stories. I really thought this class was going to be a bored but the way this man engage with his student made me want to learn. He can be a little imperfect when it comes to certain things but still great

Professor Virtanen is such an awesome, open-minded, and intelligent teacher! I truly mean it. I have learned so much about religion because of him and he keeps lectures engaging (which right now are online due to COVID-19). Attend the lectures, do your reading, weekly discussions, and 3 papers and you'll get an A! You will NOT regret taking him!

I took him over the summer (session 2) It was a great class, I learned a lot about different religions, I just wished it could've been a session 1 so it didn't have to be so rushed. Overall amazing teacher, good amount of extra credit, and if you have a problem, or did not turn in something just talk to him and he'll help you.

This professor is very professional but at the same time engaging and caring. He works with you. His lectures are good too. I took him remotely for 6 weeks. I got a B and really didn't give it my all. He grades fairly don't think you can turn in sorry work and pass. Go to class do you work and you will get an A

Easy A, just do all the assignments and participate in class and you'll be fine. His lectures are interesting. He would make liberal comments that were not related to the subject, but that's his opinion I guess.

I would recommend taking this class to everyone! He cares about his students and if you pay attention in class and do the assignments there is no way to fail. He also understands that student have lives outside of school and will give leniency if you communicate with him.

I took him during the pandemic for session 4. We did 3 papers which wasn't really hard and every Sunday we had a discussion to submit. Over all it was an easy class.

i took this as a session four class thinking it was going to be intense. Virtanen is understanding and kind if you don't have time to do an assignment you can email him and he'll work with you. We had a couple pop quizzes, light readings and discussions, and the midterm and finals were papers about what religious topic we found interesting. Easy A

I really enjoyed taking this class. We were able to engage with our peers a lot and had many discussions in class so it was engaging. The midterm and the final were written papers, not hard though. As long as you stay organized with the due dates you will pass. I recommend writing all assignments down from the syllabus in the beginning. Very fun!

He is the most down to earth professor I've had this whole semester. Very understanding when you ask for extensions or help. Be ready to read and participate in discussions. He actually reads them. There is a weird pause of silence when no-one participates in the class discussion, and WILL wait until someone says something depending on the topic.

My favorite professor so far! The lectures were well-prepared and allowed for us to participate, questions and discussions were always welcome. He was eager to provide us with all the resources we could possibly need to understand religion. It's clear he's very passionate about what he teaches, and that made it a million times more interesting.

I took this professor for world religions and he was by far great. His lectures were very knowledgable and he made it actually fun to learn every class. He does talk with the class a lot and although it isn't required, i would recommend participating here and there. His assignments are also relatively easy, as well as the final paper.

Very easy assignments, graded fairly on all of them. Also a very responsive professor and he is nice and willing to fix your grade for you as soon as possible! Learned a lot!

Amazing professor, made me consider changing to a religion major. the class I took was not on here, but he is an amazing guy, very chill, and very understanding. I had a few issues with assignments and he allowed me to make them up. Great guy, if you have a choice, take him, you will not regret it!

Prof V is a great guy. His online class was well organized and easy to follow. He kept a steady pace over the summer and did not assign too much work. No tests!!

Professor Virtanen's class was super informative and really interesting. I already finished 90% of my gen-ed requirements, so I only registered for this course because UGA accepted the credit. He assigns weekly reading and mandatory notes, but it never felt like what he assigned was busy work, especially due to clear guidelines and fair grading.

Professor Virtanen is an excellent professor. The expectations every week are quite clear and relatively easy. Every week is a religion--one discussion, one notes assignment (online textbook), and one Inquizitive (generally 10-15 questions about the religion). Classes are enjoyable because they're really interactive. Take the class.

Professor Virtanen was amazing. Assignments about each religion were given each week with a fair grading rubric. Lectures are interesting especially if you participate. I would recommend taking this course.

Professor Virtanen is an amazing professor! When I say that, I mean it! He is so cool, and totally can relate to the younger generation, like me! Please, do not hesitate to ask him any questions or discuss anything with him, because he is totally chill! I would definitely take him for another religion course, even if it is not a requirement.

Professor Chad was gave me an amazing experience being that it was the only class i genuinely enjoyed. He made the class interesting and it makes you want to go home and do your own research on the religions. Lots of easy homework, one page notes turned in before class and discussion posts but overall such an easy class if you need a credit or interested in religions in general. Will be taking him again for REL2000

Professor Virtanen and his world religions class was the best class I have ever taken at Broward! He is very knowledgeable and sensitive about the topics discussed in class. His in-class discussions were eye opening and thought provoking. Assignments are primarily essays and at home quizzes. This is a must take class and professor!!

An amazing professor. Is a great listener and teacher. Cares about every one of his students and it shows. The class itself was very insightful and he encourages discussions on tough topics but is extremely respectful and views things objectively. I took him for HUM1020, I would 100% have him as my professor again, he's super understanding, and takes his time with his lectures. He makes you open your mind to new ideas and questions that make you think.

Great professor. There are only 2 papers in the course: the midterm and final. He's lenient on extensions and late submissions. Class discussions are pretty important to your grade, so make sure to listen. Lots of discussion boards and some quizzes based on textbook chapters. Great professor! His class is pretty easy as long as you show up, since there are a lot of in-class discussions. Only gives at home quizzes and two papers, both of which are manageable. Overall, a really chill class with minimal stress.

Professor Virtanen is one of the best and most caring professors I know. He was compassionate and highly respected by our classmates. He incorporated discussions that expanded my view of religion and broadened my existing knowledge. His assignments were straightforward yet reflective. I wholeheartedly encourage students to take his class.

I took this class as a dual enrollment student, the course was actually very interesting and easy to follow with the way the course material was structured. The work is not too much only about 3 papers easy assignments, and discussions. Great professor, answered emails pretty well, would definitely take this class again.
