Really a nice guy. He's young so he's still eager about teahing. Make sure you read the book and review the lecture notes that he email you becasue he has all essay exams and quizes. He REALLY likes when you ask questions too.
Really great guy that loves what he does. He gives quiz's randomly on what you read for that class so it is a good idea to attend. Only down side is that in his grading system you can only lose 5 points on five quiz's and two tests to get an A. No bonuses. Quite a strict grading system for a general education class. Otherwise, great class.
Overall good professor. Young and still have a lot of perspective in what he's teaching. Reading the book is important, but he also emails us the notes from class. Gives out "pop quizzes" five times throughout the semester. Ask a lot of questions in class, you'll make him happy =) He likes discussions after every lecture.
Awesome professor, very knowledgeable about history. The tests are pretty easy, as long as you show up to class, he gives you all the notes you need and makes the class very enjoyable. He encourages participation and has open discussions during and after class. I would highly recommend his class.
He is a good teacher and class was interesting. You have to read every week and he has random quizzes. As long as you do the reading and come to class, you will do fine. Total of two exams and four quizzes make up the final grade. Pretty easy class overall and very much recommended.
5 quizzes (4pts each) Midterm (40 pts) final (40 pts)= total 100 pts...He did have a couple of extra credit quizzes to help. All of his tests were based on his lecture, which he provided notes for. If you go to class, pay attention, and study the notes provided, you will do fine.
Loved this teacher! I enjoyed the lectures and the class was pretty easy as long as you come to class and pay attention to the lectures. I read the bk at first then went to studying just the lectures/notes. Notes are emailed to you. There are 5 pop quizes make sure you come to class. For final only have to know material from after mid term.
Awesome! Lectured with passion: made hist. interesting. Attend all classes/collect perfect quiz scores:they were based on topics from class- sometimes he give hints to what it might be. Midterm and Final are NOT difclt.- outlines given- read text/notes, remember and write a good essay. Time managmnt is key, Xtra credit available- prof. is flexible.
Dr. Waucaush always has an interesting take, using fun facts to keep you interested. He's very in touch with his native roots so don't bash the indians.
Easy class there is a midterm and final all essay.. he gives you a study guide from what he wants you to study from very helpfull so you dont waste your time reading what is not necessary. class can be boring since its mostly lecture but if you ask questions or discuss with him the subject it can be more fun. easy to understand
This class is horrible! The amount of detail he expects for a 5 minute essay quiz is unrealistic. There are only 5 quizes, midterm, and final (all essay). Miss one quiz you're screwed. All lecture VERY boring! First D of my life.
I loved Dr. Waucaush, I wasn't a fan of history before taking his class. I loved his class so much I took HIST 102 in the summer. He gives you all of your notes and as long as you study them you'll do great. He keeps the class interesting and the final isn't hard as long as you study.
Was a great teacher! He would actually try to answer questions as best he could, which was almost a problem with professors.
This teacher is HORRIBLE! gives 5 min to answer a paragraph long essay question and basically expects a page of extreme detail. All lecture completely boring and has bad public speaking skills. Miss one pop quiz and your done for. No homework just the 5 quizes, midterm, and final. First time ive ever received a D.
entirely unimpressed by this professor. he is disorganized, provides notes, but after the lecture they pertain to. zips through lectures so quickly that it is difficult to take your own notes. essay format exams guided by a list of vague questions. continually late. however he does care enough about his students to offer extra credit opportunities.
(Continued) possibility of raising it, however, ran out of time during the final, entirely my fault. But strange enough, I'm okay with whatever he wants to give me. Professor Wauchash had left an overall pleasant taste. And if I don't make it, I may even take his class again. He's not so bad, it's recommended.
(Continued) a first for me; first written exams, first pop up quizzes, but overall, it's pretty easy if you place a little effort into it. The final grade for his fall 2010 semester hasn't yet been posted, and for the length of his class I had the ladder of a 'B' average with a
Dr. Wauchaush does come across vague, his lectures and notes seem formless, but I think he does this on purpose because he wants us to do a little research in hopes of piecing it all together. The notes can easily be reached through Angel, and centered on the decades and quizzes. At first they appear scattered, yet once you start piecing
ammmmazing professor that absolutely loves what he does. Class is easy as long as you show up for class. Which isn't a problem bc his lessons keep your attention.
This class is easy. Just show up, take notes (he even puts the notes he uses on Angel), and he even gives the study guide for midterm and final exam. The lectures were not that interesting, but he still answers any questions and is very helpful. Essay form for quizzes and exams. Easy.
Dr. Wauchush is a great proff. If you do the readings that he assigns then his lect. are easy to follow along in class. I recieved an A. He knows alot about history and makes it fun to take as a requirement.
Mr. Waucaush is a cool guy. He is very helpful and keeps his class interesting. This class is pretty easy as long as you pay attention. I would definitely recommend it!
Dr. Waucaush is a great proffessor. He knows alot about history. I took his 101 and his 102 class and got a high A both times. If you get a D your pretty much not studying ( your fault). He gives notes before class on Angel but put your own notes along side his notes and you'll do great.
professor Waucaush is great.he gives you notes and no homework other than assigned reading.he knows what he's talking about and is very helpful.consider attendance mandatory because you cant make up the quiz if you miss it.the final quizes and midterm ar all hadwritten so if you dont write well dont take him.study and youll do great.
He is always 15minutues late for class. He posts a note guideline on Angel like an hour before class starts, so if you take more then one class...you'll never be able to print them. He seems kind of scatter-brained when trying to lecture. Seriously boring class, but rather easy. Recommend because of how easy it is, not because hes a good professor!
GREAT GREAT professor, although i dont recommend you take a 4 week summer course it gets very stressful unless you dedicate atleast 2 hours everyday.. I got a A plus in his class.. and he is extremely passionate about history..taught me more than i could know
A couple of quizzes you cant make up if your gone, midterm and final are all essay. Go to all of the extra credit presentations they are somewhat interesting. Take good notes.
Took the 4 week course in summer, it's manageable as long as you go to every class and have his printed notes. Be ready to take your own. Quizzes are easy if you paid attention in class. Prof was eager to help out students with questions and enjoyed discussing current events, so he likes students to have some news stories available to bring up.
Dr Waucaush is passionate about History. He knows what he is talking about. The midterm is comprehensive. Make sure you study in advance because the more you know the better. I recommend to take him for HISTORY 101.
Dr. Waucaush is definitely one of the most passionate professors at CSN. I took him for both 101 and 102. At first you might get the impression he is a bit scattered but it's only because he's trying to spit out so much relevant information. He constantly makes connections to current events and inspired me to become more interested in politics.
Is a nice guy, but notes are not helpful. Gives very bad points. Only gives quizzes in surprises. Quizzes and exams are only the grades. No participation points and assignments. Extra credits is only one point each. Only done seven. Now I'm going to have to retake history 102 with a different teacher.
Very passionate about all aspects of History. He'd usually be 10 or so minutes late for class but I don't think any of us minded much. Gives out quizzes throughout the semester that are easy if you just go over the notes that he goes over the class before. Midterms and finals are essays, again, easy if you study! He's a good professor, take him!
Hes a great teacher. Very passionate and helpful with everything pertaining to history. He gets off topic sometimes but he always talks about an interesting topic in history. Quizzes are easy if you pay attention in class and the midterm and final are extremely easy. everything is mapped out in the notes and study guide!
Take a LOT of notes. Don't waste your time on the book. In fact, you may even want to record the lectures. Your whole grade will be based on in class essays about the lectures, so know them well. He is also extremely opinionated, so if you want to hear both sides of the issues, you might want to take another history class.
Show up, take notes, Lissen/record lectures, and STUDY will get you an A in his class. Quizes are mini-essays, exams are muliple choice. Dont waste time with the book, he gives notes on his lectures but make sure to write down what he says too! Over all hard class with a great Professor.
He needs to stop being a professor and become president! He knows a lot about history and connects it to current events. Just study the notes and you'll be fine. Make sure you know a lot of details so you get more points on the quizzes. You don't even need the book. Also, he offers a lot of extra credit opportunities!
Easy class! Attendence is mandatory! gives you notes, you just have to print them. he gives pop quizes but if you attend class they are very easy.all exams are essay form. easy history class.
Easy class. you do not need to buy the book despite what he says because the lectures covers what you're going to be quizzed on anyway. Nice guy, he doesn't make the class difficult. If you need to take a history class than take his. Attendance is mandatory.
Speaks clearly, Great Instructor
He is a great professor, smart, friendly, and accessible. His tests are mini essay format. Book is not necessary. ESL students should not worry about the mini essays because he does not care how well your grammar is as long as he can understand you. Great professor, easy and interesting. Take his class!
Nice enough-speaks clearly.Energized/ comprehensive lectures, notes provided-he answers ?'s.No electronic devices allowed.In-class Xcredit/tests in-class essay.Great instructor for honor students.Reminds me of old testament Pharisees absorbed in following letter of the law.IMO your interest in hist will be peeked-if you stick it out you will learn.
I enjoyed this class so much. We lectured off a packet of notes; never even opened the book. The professor is very informative and energized, which helps to remember more material. His quizzes are short essay questions and the final is one lengthy essay question with your choice of topic.
Very compresensive!Always hated/didn't understand Hist.He is the 1st ever who generated my interest. Now,I find Hist incredibly interresting.HW consist of reviewing/digesting notes(provided)& reviewing your lecture notes. He provides opportunities for you to ask questions so be patient & don't become annoyed b/c he has alot of material to cover.
He has a PhD, but is very unprofessional. He is always late, rarely prepared for class. We are paying for his time, we barely get that. We don't use the book at all. He does not explain difficult concepts. We are not his priority, we are an afterthought. He does know his material and he is passionate about history, just unprofessional.
Great professor! Will take again for HIST 102 next sememster! Must take, made history interesting and explained patterns from the past that resurface today!
This professor is very smart and he is a must take for your csn career his knowledge of history is awesome and he is very passionate about telling student s the truth about history every class was very enjoyable he says you need the book but you dont he says "Dont listen to ratemyprofessors.com you need the book" take my advice dont get the book
Great teacher! He is very passionate about the subject. I was interested in history before hand, and he made it that much better. He is very straight forward and gives study guides. If you do what he says and listen to his lectures the class is an easy A!
Awesome teacher!!! Really brings history alive and makes it very interesting. Do not buy the book because you will literally never use it. Make sure you show up to class and pay attention because he goes over everything and all your notes are already done for you.
yes,he is consistently about 14 minutes late to all of his classes (one minute later and we could all leave class) and he is often scatterbrained and goes off track, but the notes are all provided, mostly identical to the notes he uses in class with only a few pictures less than he has.his tests are hard but he gives you a study guide.lotsofreading!
I will echo the chorus in that he didn't have us test from the book. Great lectures/discussions where you learn a lot about history you were never taught.
This professor was great! They say don't get the book, however I read through the book just to understand his notes. His lectures just make you understand the whole concept. No homework and just article quiz's and note quiz. Definitely recommended.
He Changed his teaching method and is now the hardest teacher EVER unless you have a photogenic memory or are already a history wiz steer clear from this class. I have never failed a class and am now fearful of failing this semester and I work my butt off studying.
Don't need the textbook. Definitely need to study, but it's not that hard. No texting during lec. Notify him before class if you must leave in the middle of class. Notes are given to you on Angel through a word document. 5 quizzes-all written out. 2 exams-multiple choice. I recommend him for HIST 102.
He always goes for his coffee before class starts. His lectures are powerpoint and you follow along with notes he provides on angel. 5 or 6 quizzes(8 points each) with 2 finals.Attendance is mandatory \, no make-up quiz or final. Class is overall easy if you study notes extremely well and you hardly use the book.
He does not give enough extra credit points. When he writes quizzes he does not know what will be on the next quiz he is writing. All of his study guids aren't helpful at all.His lessons are boring and he grades too hard.I would not take his class again.
Excellent teacher and really cares about the subject and what he's teaching.
Glad I had Chad's class, def 1 of best I've had. Answers every Q, organized, accessible, enthusiastic, returns papers promptly, explains material then pulls it into today's news headlines 4 relevance. Tests r based off chapter outlines, which come from book. Study both, but focus on outlines. Knows the tricks to keep students engaged in class.
Great professor, can't wait to take the next class with him.
Attend class. Pay attention. Print out his lectures notes and take your own notes as well. Lots of opportunities to get extra credit points. He is late to class almost every time. He does not follow the syllabus. However, if you go to class and listen you will learn more about US history than the text will teach. He makes the topic relevant.
This class is great.it's interesting and its not hard i never used the text book and still got an A. Print out the notes and pay attention and you'll do great.no papers to write. Two exams and a few easy quizzes and that's it. I would secondly take this class again.
EXCELLENT PROFESSOR He actually said he gets butterflies in his stomach the night before class because he gets so exited Very intelligent and respectable has a true passion for history and makes learning exciting interesting Text book is required and especially for extra credit If your not doing well in class he will help you improve
he is consistently 15 minutes late to class, made us purchase book but never use it. VERY strict with grades. no supplemental work, only quizzes and exams. would not recommend taking unless you like to memorize countless pages of notes
NICE guy-not that that necessarily has much to do, really, with teaching, but it helps make you want to ace his class. Class is only hard if you dont REALLY take the time to study his notes EXTREMELY well for the 5 quizzes. Midterm+final are easier (both mult choice) & make up most of your grade, but I think he purposely does that to help you pass.
This class is very straight forward. 5 quizzes for 40% of your grade, mid term for 30% of your grade, and final for 30% of your grade. He gave his classes 12 points of extra credit which is 12% of your grade. His quizzes are essay's and the final/midterm are multiple choice. He tells you exactly what to study. He a great guy and very passionate.
Awesome professor! Very helpful and intelligent
I already love history and he was a great history teacher. He is very intelligent and relates his teachings to issues going on in the present time. He provides notes online for you to print before class and those notes are all you really need to know. However, you need to be able to elaborate on your quiz answers.
Come to class, study and pay attention and you'll receive an A. He posts his notes online and all his exams and quizzes (5 quizzes and two exams) will be based on the notes, lecture and some text. A text is required. Professor Waucaush is an amazing professor and enjoys what he teaches. I've learned a lot in both of his 101 and 102 classes.
very discouraged when I took his class.
Very funny and interesting professor. He's usually at least 5 minutes late to class everyday because he makes his schedule back to back so he has little time in between classes. Also, he's always discussing things with students after class. His tests and quizzes come STRAIGHT from his printed lecture notes! memorize them you'll get an A+++
Take his class, memorize the notes and you are done. He is an easy going person and no need to worry if you do not know history. I am an international student but passed his class just by memorizing notes and lectures.
Hes a nice person, but not terribly clever. If you at all expect to be graded on your understanding of the material, I would not suggest this professor. Everything is memorizing bullet notes. If you just want an easy average grade, go for it. If you like history, go with someone else.
I've always HATED history, but this guy makes it not only fun but interesting. I learned more in his class than I ever have in a history class. Get involved, pay attention and let him make it fun (and study for exams) and you'll do great and have fun!
Dr. Waucaush is awesome! He is very knowledgeable about history, has a passion for teaching, & is always willing to help. The tests were a little different for the Summer course, but he gives you exact notes compared with the test, so make sure you study. One massive paper at the end for the final worth 50%, and you get to choose the topic.
He is extremely knowledgeable in his field of study. He is an excellent teacher, but attendance is very important. He offers a lot of extra credit. This class is very interesting. His mid-term and final tests are both multiple choice. He sends out a study guide that has everything the test will have on it. He lectures and tests off his notes.
What you need to know about Dr. Waucaush: He loves history and really knows it. He tends to wander off topic but that is what makes his class great! He gives multiple essay quizzes so study hard and be ready to write. The material is voluminous and tough but it is also very interesting. He has guest speakers and is always available to help.
Must attend class, book is mandatory, take good personal notes (not meaning his printed notes). Gives extra credit throughout the semester. 8 quizzes and 2 exams, fairly easy if you study for them. Doesn't upload grades on Canvas. Took this class along with HIST 101 & BIOL 189.
This professor is good only if you are good with studying notes and understanding lecture. Also, you love reading a lot. However for me, it is good but it is not good for any students who have hearing-loss or disability which I have. He wouldn't understand student's accommodations such as he need to wear listening devices every class for my hearing
He is definitely not the professor to take if you want an easy A. If you want to learn and work for your grade then take his class. There is no homework, he expects you to study daily. He has quizzes, which are very difficult, and a midterm and final, which are multiple choice and extremely easy.
This class requires outside study and classroom note taking. There are 8 difficult quizzes: fill-in-the-blank or essay question format. Mid-term and Final are multiple choice (easier). Attendance is very important. Bring your sharp pencil and memorized information to get an A. Dr. Waucaush is very knowledgeable about history. Great class!
Amazing professor. Very passionate and knowledgable about history. Makes it interesting! Let's you know what to study for quizzes and also for exams. If you take notes and prepare for the exams, you will do fine.
He was an amazing teacher who is truly passionate about his work and the topics at hand. I'll definately be taking his class again!
Amazing class, very well presented and the information is more than plenty to pass with an A. The quizzes are mostly essay, with the mid term and final being multiple choice. Tests are very tough if you don't learn all of the concept groupings. He gives great study guides for the quizzes and tests as well as a ton of awesome extra credit.
He's an awesome guy. Usually some of this stuff would be so boring but he's really made a lot of it interesting at times. He is a very tough grader when it comes to it though. I'm done with his class tomorrow, and I'm kind of going to miss it. I wish there was something else he taught I could take. Great guy.
Not a good class for people who do not like reading a lot. You only get graded on quizzes and tests. They seem easy as long as you read, and that was my mistake. The topic of the test is random so you can't just study one specific thing. The lectures are fun though especially when he goes off-topic. Would take his class again and actually read.
He gave out notes every week which were basically a study guide to the tests. He gave out one "pop" quiz from the book, but he pretty much warned us about it. He gave out extra credit which was usually attending an event and writing a paragraph about it.
This class isn't hard if you have time to read the chapters. If you have a hectic work schedule and are also full time, it may get tough if you don't budget your time appropriately. His tests are often written answer, so you need to know what you're writing about to get a good score. He offers lots of extra credit and I really enjoyed the lectures.
Awesome class. The lectures are always interesting. A few quizzes, if you don't study you won't do too good.
Excellent class, excellent teacher!!!
Straight forward course to begin with. The prof is somewhat disorganized. Nonetheless, he knows his stuff. Attendance is a must. Lecture notes are provided by the prof the night before class; follow along, fill in the blank, and pay attention. Few pop quizes, midterm, and final. BookSSSSSSS are semi-required as an additional resource
Very passionate about history, but his monotone killed me!! I had to fight the urge to sleep, but it wasn't his fault. Make sure to read before class, hes very interactive and will ask feedback from the class. He's a cool guy, gave a lot of detail. would take again.
I really enjoyed his class. He is very passionate and really made me understand the material with his in-depth lectures. He has a lot of in-class writing and pop quizzes, that he gives a little amount of time for. It's a really enjoyable class if you enjoy learning and don't mind working for your grade.
Great professor, he gives you note to follow along with his lectures. Read the book is optional in some case and I recommend you youtube summaries of each chapter if you're a slow reader . He often gives study guides for each test (study that and all the notes)
Yikes...I'm not sure I would recommend this class to a friend. If you love history and really want to know more about it, then this class is for you. If you just need the credit, you probably will not enjoy this class. He does his job well, but I just felt like history was his life!!!
Pretty good professor/class! A bit disorganized, but it was ok. You can print out note outlines that he shares and then write on it. Beware to read since he does pop quizzes (I didn't read 50% of the time, so do extra credit). Participate and know the subject matter/study. And make sure to not leave in the middle of class; he doesn't like it at all
I highly recommend him!! He is very knowledgeable in his field, funny, makes it interesting, has easy following lectures, and loves to participation! This was my favorite class this semester and I am taking him again for History 102. He asks for so little of you compared to other professors. You won't regret taking him.
Skip class? you wont pass. He always upload the note before lecture and then you gotta print that note to follow his powerpoint in class. He wants to make sure to do the reading so be prepared for pop quiz. He might offer extra credits if you do the pop quiz even pop quiz is optional. 3 quizs, 1 midterm and 1 final. Recommend to take him as well!
Hes knowledgeable in what hes teaching. Hes funny so hes not making lecture overwalming. He offers extra credit based on pop quiz. Pop quiz is optional, but its good if you do it. 1 final, 1 midterm, and 3 quiz based on his lecture. You will be fine if you study your note! Hughly recommend you guys to take his class either History 101 or 102
Professor Waucash is hilarious and has a great understanding of history. There was a lot of pop quizzes and some writing assignments. He never posted grades on Canvas so you never really know what your grade is unless you ask him.
Professor Waucaush's class was fun to take. He is a pretty funny guy and loves to teach. 10 total pop quizzes so be ready. He didn't put grades on canvas was annoying but i just kept everything he handed back to keep track of my grade. Does have extra credit which did help. Study guides for exams and quizzes which had everything on it.
I havent missed a day in this class & Ive NEVER failed a class in my life. He is NOT specific AT ALL when it comes to what is going to be on the final/midterm/pop quizzes. He expects you to read multiple chapters&go by notes but wont tell you exactly what it is on!! Whats funny is I passed my other Hist101 class with a B but failed this class.
Honestly the best HIST prof I have ever had. He has amazing detailed lectures that sometimes put him behind schedule. Also he is not afraid to really show the dark elements in any time frame, this includes pictures so beware. It really shows in the class discussions that he really cares about his field. Wish I needed his other classes!
Awesome professor! He is a tough grader but the class is well worth it! Learned so much not only about history 102 but what is going on in todays politics that can be confusing. The professors lectures were never boring!
Pay attention and read/study you'll pass. He's challenging but you'll learn something new each class. His tests are directly from the study guides.
This professor was absolutely amazing! I learned so much! If you plan on skipping class or not paying attention, don't take him. He makes you work HARD! Tons of pop quizzes and he puts you on the spot. However, he is so passionate about the subject he teaches. I am honestly sad that I don't have to take anymore history classes he was awesome!
I leaned as much about Native American History as I would've if I'd read a book or browsed the internet. He talks a lot about himself. Doesn't provide feedback on papers. Lectures are important, reading the textbook is not enough. he emphasizes information that is sprinkled throughout the book. Use the lecture notes he puts out and the study guide
Amazing 101 teacher! he can be hard on his students but he is nothing but fair when it comes to grading. His lessons in history subjects are intresting and always manage to capture your attention. but beware there are pop quizzes in this class
Professor Waucaush is really good, not like the rest of the professors Ive had. No annoying assignments or homework, just a little reading and some tests. His tests really arent that hard, and theres only a few of them. Genuinely pay attention and review your notes and youll be good.
If you are looking for an F for your transcript, then this is the class you'd want to take! He talks throughout the whole entire class and many people would fall asleep! He didn't care about his students and only talked and talked, mostly about himself. I tried so hard in his class by always being in class and taking notes and HE GAVE ME AN F!
one of the worst history teachers I've had. he did not talk about most of what we were supposed to learn and would make us watch videos most of the time. he would not stay on topic of what he was teaching about and he really talked about himself most of the time. I chose him this past semester because his ratings were high but they're false!!
One of the most informative professors Ive ever had. If you arent a history buff, he might seem like hes droning on but he talks about cool historical or worldly knowledge thats stuck with me. He had a couple pop quizzes, which were easy if youre prepared. Its a rewarding course but dont take it if you dont like being forced to try.
He is 10 minutes late to every class. Often, his assigned youtube videos teach more in an hour than he has in a semester. He goes on tangents that are often inaccurate according to the material he assigns. His notes are on a word document that he scrolls through shoddily and often deviates from. I enjoy history, but I could not stand this class.
He is a nice guy but will never take him again. He always relies too much on outside sources to do the work for him and his class is extremely boring since he can be monotone. Watch YouTube videos basically the whole semester, like lol, I did not pay hundreds of dollars just to be taught by YouTube. In all honesty, just find another professor.
Took this course as a 4 week online class due to Covid over Summer. Was a TON of reading, but given that its a 4 week history course that was pretty much a given. Only had 4 assignments and they were very easy if you actually read the material. Book was mandatory as some of the questions quoted it. Taking HIST 101 with this prof next term.
How does a professor grade your answers to your exams with a response that simply says, "?" This is Prof W. Be ready to give the exact answer hes looking for, and also, if you're in the ballpark of the answer, your answer is still wrong. He expects perfectionist answers. Just very unprofessionally carried himself, throughout the course.
He is very specific when it comes to answers. He is a very picky and harsh grader your answer has to be exact or it will be wrong. Took this class online and there are 4 test that are like 40-50 questions none of it is multiple choice. All he does is get articles from safari and he post in on the modules and he post a lot.
Dr. Waucash is for those who want easy. I liked him because we had 4 tests for the semester and that is all he graded on. All of the answers for the tests he gave were in the textbook and lectures. Even though it is lots of homework, you do not need to do all of it to get an A on the test; I promise if you are ambitious, you will love him.
Overall, Dr. Waucaush was a pleasure to be with for the semester. As others have said, your overall grade is based on four tests. These four tests are open book/note/article. You have one week to do them. Be sure to look for SPECIFICS (as asked in the question) and you will do well on the exams. Also gave extra credit at the end of the semester.
You will have to read the lectures through canvas. He assigned two books and total of 4 exams, which are not multiple choice. You will have to copy and paste his exams on a blank page and answer very specific. You need to send your exams in pdf form.
Dr. Wacaush is amazing! His test is based on the weekly written lectures and additional articles/videos assigned. With his lectures and reading the textbook, you will do well in the class.
I had a great time in this class! It was all very interesting. There's only four exams total based on mostly on written lectures, then readings and outside media. Each exam is around 32 questions (half fill in blanks, some true/false, some short answer). Take notes during lectures because the prof will answer all the blanks from written lectures.
Dr. Waucaush was an awesome professor, if you enjoy history you should take his class, he is very passionate about history. Your grade consists of 4 exams for 25 points each. He is a tough grader and wants the answer to be nearly word for word of what he is looking for. These answers are found in the virtual and written lectures as well as modules
Professor was honestly great with lectures & not being harsh on attendance. My only thing was sometimes the lectures we printed out & brought to class - wouldn't match the following lecture he later uploaded. Being that he wasn't a 1 class only Professor - he waited to post the remaining in class lextures *confusing* I Recommend.
Only goes by student notes, however student notes dont go over everything on the tests or quizzes. Not merciful at all, and if you miss a quiz you need professional proof of why you missed.
Very easy class, but it's only graded by the four exams, so you'll want to do well on them. He only had written lectures, so be prepared to read, but all the lectures, videos, chapters, and articles assigned for the week can be easily done in one day. It was all very informative and I enjoyed the class. 100% recommend.
This is a great class! Four weeks. Reading is a must but the information is fascinating so that's easy to do. There are only 4 exams, posted on Friday and due on Sunday. No papers to write. All the answers are in his written lectures, the GML text, and the other articles and videos. There is no political bias in his teaching.
Amazing professor. Fair in testing and Extremely knowledgeable.
Dr. Waucaush is pretty outstanding overall. He makes his lectures very interesting and meaningful by the time you walk out of class, so coming to lectures are very important. Super easy to pass if you take notes during lectures and use them to study for exams. Very kind to all his students and relates history to todays current events.
Prof. Waucaush is an amazing history prof! Knowledgeable about his subject and is not afraid to get into the dark aspects of history. 4 exams, and 5 quizzes, each of which are taken mostly from lectures. Take good notes and remember to revise before each exam. The external content is honestly very interesting, so watch it. Take this professor!
STUDYYY for this class! His tests AREN'T hard but you do need to study a bit if you want to receve a high score. His lectures are alright, just powerpoint and notes. This proffesor knows his history but I feel like he isnt a great leacturer. Sometimes when we dont finish, he posts the rest of the lesson on Canvas, lessons up to 1-3 hours long.
He is an enthusiastic history professor who knows what he is talking about and makes history interesting. As a prof he doesn't know how to manage time well, he will go so deep in a topic he won't finish the whole lecture making you have to spend multiple hours at home watching virtual lectures. His class isn't hard tho just pay attention and study.
By far my favorite teacher. He went really in-depth about the topics, and you can tell that he cared a bunch. He was relatable and really nice. I didn't get the textbooks or watch any of the lectures outside of class, but it was really easy to keep up with the materials. Most of his quizzes are multiple choice with a few fill-in-the-blanks.
His lectures were all text based, but he also links videos + articles. Only 5 quizzes+2 exams. The quizzes came by every other week or 2. Easy on schedule. Super easy work just make sure you get a good score because it's very hard on your grade. Quizzes/Exams are prompts you answer on a word doc then submit it. You don't really need the textbook.
5 quizzes, midterm, and final. Quiz questions were pretty random and specific, so make sure you read through his lectures thoroughly. Extra credit film and questions. Personally wouldn't take again.
This was one of the worst college professors I have had, and I am not exaggerating! I took his summer class and it was really unorganized, he started the first week of the course late and does not provide any feedback on exams. I wish he would provide only important chapters to read instead of adding unnecessary videos and sections of the book.
Lazy teacher, no valuable feedback, pots assignments late and provided no extra time.
This was one of the easiest classes I've taken. During the 4 week course, there were only 4 exams to complete with about 20 short answer questions. About 90% of the questions you can find the answers word for word in the written lectures. I will say that the professor posted an exam and module late, but he provided 2 days extra time to compensate.
Scavenger hunt style. Summer course consisted of 2 written lectures with documentaries/YouTube videos per week with one exam at the end of week. While that sounds easy this instructor was a tough grader with no real feedback. He wants answers exactly as he expects them. Not consistent with uploading assignments in a timely manner or replying back.
Wouldn't recommend Professor Waucaush. Assignments were almost always posted late and he takes forever to grade. Assignments are not posted until Friday and due on Sunday so no real time to complete, especially for folks who work weekends. This professor also isn't a fair nor accurate grader and often leaves rude and threatening remarks on things.
took the 4 week online course and it consisted of 4 exams. As long as you do the readings and pay attention to his lectures you will do good in his class.
He's the best history professor I've had. Attendance is not mandatory but make sure you have the notes for the class you missed since some questions on the exams are based on his lectures. There were only four exams and four tests, other than that, no homework.
not a bad professor bur it's TEST ONLY class and quiz. no type of hw to bring your grade up. Lecture heavy he makes student slide shows that don't match his slide shows so if you missed class you won't even have all the notes. His tests are usually 50 multiple questions, for quizzes he gives u a 5-7 mins which is not enough time and makes u rush
This class is only test-based with no assignments but there are a few extra-credit opportunities. There are 4 main exams and 5 quizzes. Each exam consists of 50 questions based on the lectures. It was hard to study for the exams because there is no study guide, but if you search up ethanisawesomeno2 on Quizlet you're set. The professor is great.
Bought the textbooks but didn't end up using them much. Exams are based off the lectures, no homework. On many occasions we ran out of time, so we were given virtual lectures. The virtual lectures were very time consuming ( 1 and 1/2 + hours) and posted a day or two before the exam. Lectures were not boring and very interesting. Take lots of notes.
I do not recommend this professor to ANYONE. The teacher only grades on quizzes and exams, there's not any homework so if you mess up on one of the quizzes, your whole grade is done, it's extremally hard to bring your grade up and the professor does not curve. Even if you study, there are sometimes questions on the quizzes that he didn't mention.
Super cool and knowledgable professor. Class has no homework and is dependent on tests/quizzes (about one exam and one quiz per unit). Everything is usually from his lectures or extra material he assigns and gives powerpoint notes so it's easy to take notes. Super straightforward. Made history rlly interesting. Gives extra credit during class too.
The prof says you need to get the textbook but you don't. He has slideshows to follow along to but don't solely depend on them for the tests/quizzes. I'd recommend recording his lectures and writing notes from the recording so you don't miss anything. 5 quizzes ~10 questions each, 4 exams ~50 questions each. No homework. He's super engaging.
Dr. Waucaush is the best professor I have ever taken. He makes history extremely interesting and is a really funny professor. He is a down-to-earth guy and has lots of stories to go along with his lectures. If you actively participate in class and pay attention to the lectures it is an easy A. 10/10 would definitely take again.
Only test/quizzes based on written lectures/videos. All are scavenger hunt style. Almost always posts quizzes and even midterm late. He also won't respond if you message him about anything regarding the class. The quizzes itself are fairly easy. Also he doesn't post announcements for quizzes so be sure to read the syllabus for the quiz dates.
Mr. Waucaush was the best he's funny and easy-going and overall a great guy. I have a really hard time focusing in class and this is the first ever class where I was interested in the lectures because they have some really interesting stuff about history you don't often hear about. If you want a good grade, all you need to do is a bit of studying.
I had two semesters of Dr. Waucash's classes, and they were fantastic. Four books, many eye-opening lectures. Several quizzes and exams. Very tough grading, but worth it. You won't pass if you wait until the last minute to read for the exams. His classes shed a new light on some things that were taught differently when I was a youngster.
I took Hist 102 in person. He required a textbook but for most of the exams he would only use a handful of questions from the text. Most of the questions were from his lectures which he would sometimes record and post on canvas, he also posted the slideshows for the units. His exams were very easy if you memorized almost all the slideshows info
Dr. Waucaush is one of the BEST professors I've had. His lectures are super interesting and made history easy to understand. Also he's very caring and understanding and funny! His classes are never dull, you can tell he loves what he teaches. He gives out no homework so grade is very quiz and test-heavy, so be sure to STUDY!!
He was honestly my favorite professor during my fall semester and at first I was not doing good in the class but I started studying for all of the tests and made sure to look over my notes because there are sometimes pop quizzes. Overall, I would recommend to look over your notes multiple times to know the material.
Prof. Waucaush's HIST102 class is a must-take. His lectures are engaging and make history interesting. Though tests and quizzes are the main assessments, studying the slideshow slides and recording lectures can help ace the class. unstuck study was a lifesaver for prep!
Dr. Chad Waucaush is a great professor. When he teaches, he gives as much information as if he were there. Two books are required, and attendance is also required. He will begin his lecture and provide each student with points. In this class, studying daily on those PowerPoint presentations and reading will help you get a good grade.
His class is basically lectures and notes so it is important you take them or else you will not do good. Sometimes he posts virtual lectures if there isn't enough time to cover everything in time. I really like his personality and he is passionate about his job, he makes lectures entertaining and he knows what he is talking about.
Professor Waucaush is an amazing professor. He says that there are two books necessary but I never bought them and I passed. There are 5 quizzes and 4 exams all very easy if you pay attention and study, they are all multiple choice. Professor Waucaush is a very understanding person. Take Professor Wauchaush as he is very good 10/10 recommend.
While knowledgeable and passionate about history, he often veered into political rants and lacked focus, which made it difficult to stay engaged. We didn't cover all the material, and his frequent complaints about teaching dampened the experience. Quizzes/tests were hard, and lots of lengthy lectures and an odd way of taking notes and studying.
Dr. Waucaush is probably one of my favorite teachers of all time. I took his class and he brought the passion he has for history into every lecture. Lessons were engaging, and prepared you for tests and quizzes. I highly recommend taking this course.
TAKE HIS CLASS!! Though lecture heavy and sometimes quick on his slides, he is very thorough and detailed in what he teaches. Attendance not tracked, but ATTEND as often as you can, one missed day and you'll miss alot. Each unit would have a 10 question test, then a 50 question exam. Study and you will pass with flying colors, amazing lecturer too.
Dr Waucaush's class was actually enjoyable, despite being a prerequisite I needed. He's respectful and clearly cares about what he teaches. There's a lot of information in the lectures, and there is no homework. So be sure to attend the lectures and study for the quizzes and tests. Textbook is recommended but I never read it and passed with an 88%
He was super sweet and I genuniely loved going to class and listening to what he had to say. He was super understanding when it came to personal matters I had. Other than that his grade is only made up of tests and quizzes so beware!! If you study you should be fine, I wouldn't take again since I'm not a great test taker but you are take the class
Dr. Waucaush is genuinely passionate about history. I had him for an online course, but met him in person too. He's great. Sometimes the required viewing documentaries were long but other than that this class is easy and fun. He has amazing lecture notes that make learning easier. Convert his notes to PDF form to be able to search key words easier.
It's a really easy class, however you have to take the quizes/exams on the exact day it opens or else it closes forever. He always reiterates that he won't open them again and that there are no exceptions in his emails. I missed one quiz and it threw me into a B (slightly salty) But yeah just remember test dates and read the lectures
