He is great. Knowledgeable, friendly, and always there. I love this guy!
How to get $725 in currently bad economic situation??
This guy is very demanding, but I have learned alot
tells too many corny jokes, sorta hard teacher
Cool teacher, lots of work
he'll put you to work but it'll be all worth it once you see your high mark
No Comments
Lots of work, cool teacher - lots of group work
best prof i've had. work seems hard but is the most useful stuff i have learned
take this prof. if u wanna ruin your GPA :(
Or, you take his course if you want to learn something useful

AWESOME PROF!!! Work hard, play hard. He is very knowledgable and helpful, and will continue to help you through your studies provided you take the time to get to know him. Very good contact in business situations outside of education as well.

wonderful teacher, can talk to him with ease and has an amazing depth of knowledge, both in and outside of the classroom.Learned lots!
Forget the negative junk you hear from ppl, this guy is awesome. He does an excellent job of combining text book theory with real life application. He is easily approachable and always helpful. Take him if you want to get something out your education.
He's awesome and always willing to help. The only people who says he'll ruin your GPA are those who ruined their own GPA.
He will make you work hard to earn your grade, but probably the most useful class I have ever take. Great guy, easy to talk to, really cares about his students. He even helps students find jobs after graduation.
Who uses macros in excel
Too bad one person has a vendetta against this prof who is easily one of the best there is.
Welcome to the real world - no more text books. This is reality and Chamkaur teaches you how to face the real world head on. Thanks and keep it up.
He's a good teacher but he's a hard marker. The good thing about good ole Chamkaur is he talks about the real world and he gets to the point. Wicked Prof keep it up man.
This guy is a ****. he picks favorites and gives grades according to his bias. This guy should not be allowed to teach kindergarten I don't know how he got hired as a 4th year university teacher.
Of my four years a kwantlen he is the absolute worst.
dont do this bro
The best teacher at Kwantlen!! Always willing to help and cares about students. Not the easiest, but you learn so much!! And it's stuff you'll actually use in the real world. Awesome guy!!
Cheema is the raddest teacher. If you get a chance to take a class with him , do it. Extremely helpful and wants his students to succeed. Trust me..... Cheema, its no bull...
he is good
AWESOME PROF! SECOND TIME I HAVE HIM, WHOEVER HATES HIM, MIGHT DO BETTER, IF THEY DID SOME WORK. MAKES U REALIZE IN A FUNNY, BUT HONEST WAY, THAT THE WORLD OUTSIDE KWANTLEN IS HARSH. AWESOME JOB KEEPING THE CLASS INVOLVED, & EXCITED ABUOT COMING TO CLASS!

He is a good resource! His teaching technique was not right for me; However, he did know his stuff. I suggest taking at least one of his courses and you can make your own mind up.
awesommmeeeee guy.. hilarious!
He's a good teacher! Very funny, and lectures well... though its hard to take notes off of him. Just read the textbook, and you'll do fine.

He is GREAT, if you learn to ask questions. His tests are difficult but not if you ask him to clarify what is going to be on them. Anyone taking a first year marketting class should choose this guy. He's also pretty funn Sh**!
Can't fluff in his class, high expectations, however if you work hard and do it right, you'll do fine. Jokes are somewhat amusing, but get old quick. This class reminded me of "The Apprentice".
Ruthless marker, high expectations, but great guy, and super to learn from
No Comments
He's not as bad as ppl say he is. As long as you follow his rules and get your work done you will be fine. Make sure u dont start any project last minute...cuz u will get nailed.
Very hard marker (Few got a passing mark on his project or Lemonade game). Doesn't seem to understand that we are not business students and should not be held to the same marking standards as students who have been taking business courses for 3-4years.
No Sales: No Marks! We understand he has little choice in what he teaches, but to mark based on how much money you bring in is extremly unethical. People are loosing their years worth of hard earned GPA just because of his attitude.
Not an easy marker...has no consistency and reasoning when it comes to marking assignments and projects. Lemonade game marks are especially ridiculous. Most ppl got donations to BTech fund and still failing...yup...we've got stabbed in the back!
Brutal marker, but have to disagree with rest. Knows his stuff and encourages/forces you to learn. Earlier post was right, do not leave project to last minute cuz you will get burned
learning value is minimal, jump through his hoops, appease his ego (huge BTW) and get your grade. Definitely don't correct him in class, he won't forget it. Subjective, biased and never quits manipulating
Tough Class. Lots of Work. Waiting till the last minute to do things is not good idea. Must make the sales. Lemonade game - easy to get a 0. Exams are fair but long. Tries to be funny but no one in our class laughed. Don't expect any sympathy.
The info students sure didn't like this guy. But I think he rocks. He cares about you learning and applying the skills you learned to your future. The no sales, no marks makes sense because the class is a sales class. Don't take it if you can't cut it.
Hilarious!!! made the 3 hour class fly by but still learned tons! Take his class if you get a chance, you won't regret it.
Unfair! He said any one not talking in the presentation will be asked for more questions. Yet he allowed one group to have 2 members stayed outside the classroom and just 1 member presented. He gave top mark to this dishonested group.Unethical!Disgusting!
Extremely tough marker, but a good guy. Excellent contact for the future. Not for the faint of heart.
Hardmarker, you could got F on assignment u spend a month on if he could find minimal mistake on the paper. The exam is quite easy, cause there's always a correct answer. His teaching is ok. Regarding the sales, i'm not sure if it's KUC idea or his but grading by the money u bring in?Is it legal?:P
interesting class, wants you to use your education when you graduate. teaches useful info. the infotech guys **** way too much just because they can't cut it. great teacher.
Very thorough classes.Lemonade game isn't very fair.Easy to get low marks on this.I found exams very difficult, and diversified. But he is an easy marker, tends to be generous on the essay type test questions.Final exam was not cumulative.Don,t use study guide, focus on key terms, memorize, should do fine
I am so glad I had him for a teacher. I've never laughed so much in a class! I learned so much and it really prepared me for other marketing classes. He's tough, but fair.

I like this teacher very much, he is one of the best teacher i have ever had
A very funny guy. His classes were always entertaining. The workload is pretty reasonbale. He always pops surprise quizes. I would highgly reccommend this prof, he is very nice and helpful and you will enjoy his lectures as well! I would take him again and so should you.
Sales is the craziest class. Mr. Cheema really makes sure that you've got the tools and has been very helpful. Do the SAT and do not ever let up on the assignments, every mark counts. $350 donation = 5 marks, you do the calculation. Really hard and very rewarding.
One of the best teachers KUC has in the business program. He is not easy, for sure, but he is more than willing to help the people who care enough to try. If you are going to half-ass the class dont bother showing up. He will know and make things even harder you.
A fun teacher. You have to pay attention in class and keep up in the text book. But he's reasonably easy going. I loved the lemonade game download the one off yahoo games to prepare.
Chamkaur rules!!
AWSOME CLASS!!This teacher really made me look forward to this class every single week:D He tells ALOT of jokes(and they can be funny)lol. but u need to study and READ THE BOOK, if you want to succeed. hes very approachable, and he responds to your emails within 24 hours..IMPRESIVE!!(a little strage though, youd think he has better things to do! =)
Besssstttttt teacher ever, made class worth going to...always helpful no matter what situation your in.If you have to take a business or marketing course make sure you have this teacher.
crazzy class :D..had lotz of fun, met lotz of cool ppl,& learned lotz but u gotta work...read and study hard..the only thing is...his examz R little bit tough & OMG the research paper :S i cant believ how hard he marked it..we pretty much FAILED IT.& same with the presentation we had 2 do.VERY HARD MARKER!I dropped 20% b4 go'n in2 the final @#$%#%#
Very Kind Teacher. Very Amusing, and Entertaining. I enjoyed his class thuroughly. This teacher is not that difficult if you pay attention in class, and do your assignments! Don't be afraid of him, he's a good reasonable Teacher
This class was the only class that I didnt miss all throughout the sem. I dont have a very good attendance record, but this class was worth showing up. Lemonade was fun! Scored 100%. Paper/presentation sucked! My groups overall mark dropped 16% before the final. Make sure u get on it early. Exams were alright.
This prof is the most bias and subjective when marking, he plays favoritism and marks according to his bias. he also pressures students to raise $ for the school to make him look good. If you take his sales class he will pressure you by making the assignments and exams so difficult that you would have to raise donations in order to pass. UNETHICAL
Brutal Marker, but worth taking, he makes you work hard for your marks. No slackers need apply. Tries too hard to make class like real life, but no second chances.......
Brilliant. I loved how he didn't treat us like first years, but fed our curiosity. Demanding course, but worth it and practical. I would be intimidated to take his 3rd or 4th year courses. He really cares about seeing us become successful. Sometimes his answers confused me more than my question... Favourite teacher so far. Works hard for us.
He is a good teacher BUT, he should NOT expect his first year students to know everything. The very first class of a first year course, he talks to you as if you know all the basics. Well, if the course is about basics, then teach the basics Mr Chamkaur, dont try to overload your students with fourth year material and examine them on that.
What a cocky old man... Unclear on assignment and expecting high standard
I loved his classes, he is so energetic all the time and really makes his class interesting. I took both Sales and Practi****with him and definitely they were hard. But if you put time and effort into it you will do well. He would be one of my best profs at Kwantlen.
Arrogant thinks he knows it all and he probably does.Any person with his ego should not be teaching at KUC rather should be managing a Multi National Corp.
Give him a chance and you just might learn a thing or two!
He is an arrogant ****. He does not have the personality to teach. This guy has no heart and does not care for his students! He loves his job since he can mess with people and feel powerful.
Highly recommended. You will get full value for your money and efforts. Be prepared to work very hard, and in the end he'll reward you for it.

Best teacher I have ever had. Really cares about students and is always available if you need help. Be prepared to work hard but if you do, your grade will reflect it. You will learn alot more than just what is in the textbook. He gives excellent advice and is committed to upholding the integrity of the business program. SLAKERS will not get far!
One of the best prof I've ever had!! Work hard & prepare for the real world!
HE MADE ME CRY IN CLASS
Worst professor I've ever seen. He gives very vaugue guidelines but has very specific expectations, resulting in average failure for Parcticum. He also enjoys making fun of students to make himself feel better. Horrible man and worst teacher in the school. A disgrace to an otherwise good ENTR program.Calls his classes "real world" but its HIS world
Extremely intelligent and knowledgeable professor. Really cares about students who put the effort in. Definitely has high standards, is always willing to talk if something doesn't make sense to you. His courses are the ultimate real-world experience; people who complain about Chamkaur being "too hard" will never be consultants in the real world.
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. HE LOVES TO SEE FAILURE. MAYBE IT REPLACES THE EMPTYNESS IN HIS HEART. IS FULL OF ACCUSATIONS, WHEN IN FACT HE IS EXTREMLY UNETHICAL HIMSELF. TAKE HARJ INSTEAD.
Attempts to shame students into raising funds for school to make himself look good, doesn't seem to get how the real world (tm) works.
great teacher,he is firm and always makes his point, but i'v noticed that the people who do the work and pass the class give good reviews and the ones who are lazy and do not pass the class give him bad reviews.
Chamkaur really cares about his students and the BBA at Kwantlen. The guy is successful outside of Kwantlen and he brings that experience to the classroom. I graduated 3 years ago, and have never regreted taking classes from him. His classes and his advice have helped me in my career.
If you take his class, be prepared to follow instructions and do the work! If you are use to getting by doing the bare minimum you will feel his wrath. He loves to see you succeed, but if you do not give your all he will put you in your place and fail you without remorse. Great teacher for those ready to graduate.
Perhaps he wants us to think for ourselves. Yes he gives alot of instructions, but all are written down, repeated in class and emailed to us. Stop whining and do the work. He is ruthless in his marking and rigid in his rules. But he is very knowledgeable and very helpful if you want to learn. He has no time for whiners and cheaters.
Amazing Teacher! Consider yourself lucky if you have the opportunity to learn from him. He rewards hard work and is not biased. His courses are not designed to let slackers slide by. He is always willing to help but will not give you the answer. Do not expect any pity, stop whining, work hard & you will be amazed at what you learn!
I had a 4.0+ GPA through out my entire degree, yet he felt otherwise. He picks on weak students and does not like leaders, so there is a big clash when I attended his class. Fortunately, I brought in a lot of money, so he could not say much, but do not take his nonsense
I'm sure he's a smart guy (or so he says so), but he didn't really teach anything. He spent most of our class time talking about how much he loves Kwantlen. Midterm is self-taught. Any questions asked will be answered sarcastically and insultingly.
He's very knowledgeable, but he needs to check his ego at the door. It's ok at times, but he needs to teach the necessities of the course itself & what's required to do well instead of preaching about value. However, talk to him, see him often & he will help you. And just do the sales portion! He holds that against you passing or not.
Chamkaur is a funny engaging person. However, questions need to be asked when the class average is below the grade required to move on to the next level. The average wasn't low due to a wide range, rather, grades were consolidated below 60%. While his anecdotes are funny, the grades won't let you move on. That's more important.
The best professor I've ever had. Prepared me for the real world, not the sheltered world. I know that I will take what I learned in his class, into the workplace later on.
The worst professor I encountered throughout my degree. I had a 4.16 GPA with 4 courses to go when I had the misfortune of having Mr. Cheema. He failed over 60% of our class and created so much stress that one of our classmates had a breakdown. He played GOD with peoples marks and when was begged for help did nothing. Many were unable to graduate.
You love it or you hate it. There's no middle ground.
This is a useless course. You'll see many people cheat to pass while hard-working students fail miserably and repeat this course over and over again. Do you believe people selling cookies flowers t-shirts etc to make 5k10k in 6 weeks? Especially to "end consumers" not business. That's right. Very unethical and stupid. Run while you can
Chamkaur is a GREAT professor! He actually cares about his students and wants them to succeed in real life. Sales isn't meant to be easy, it's meant for you to build your network and connections to be more successful in the real world. I found this class to be highly rewarding because Chamkaur is very helpful, & motivating. I would take him again!
He is the reason why I would recommend students avoid the Entrpreneurial Leadership program, or even KPU's business programs altogether. He makes you raise money for the school in both sales and practicum, providing him with many accolades and prestige within the university. He treats this program as if it's a masters degree, and grades accordingly
I did not raise money for him and therefore did not pass. This arbitrarily difficult course is a pointless obstacle to graduation considering all of the other challenging courses in the program. Unfortunately, he brings in a lot of money off the backs of students, which makes him look good to the school. Do not take this course or program with him.
It makes me sad KPU doesn't address the fact that Chamkaur has a terrible attitude. He admittedly "doesn't play well with others" and openly insults students. Beyond that his explanations are often contradictory. He thinks he's doing his students a service but with a little research one can see this is not the case by a longshot.
Meh, I don't get all the hate. While he's certainly not the easiest marker, he gives you plenty of extra credit to make up for it. He doesn't make you waste money on textbooks, either. You do learn quite a lot about business and life in general, though, so it's a worthwhile course to take with him. If you're semi-intelligent you should be alright.
Chamkaur has a reputation for being a tough marker and for his controversial sales course. He took time out of class regularly to encourage me and to coach me. He pushes students to go outside their comfort barriers - that's why he's not popular. He was a mentor to me - the skills I learned from him have led to my success in the finance industry.
You either love this course or hate it. Chamkaur is a great, engaging professor. I've learned that you definitely need to be outgoing and willing to put in the work, otherwise you won't do well. Go to his office hours and ask for help if you're struggling. He respects that.
Chamkaur struggles to be direct about what he expects from students, is very cryptic and then grades extremely hard based on poor instructions. His sales knowledge is poor (I work in corporate sales). He marks hard to make students fail, to increase class donation revenues (as many retake) to make himself look better for his own career.
The man, the myth, the legend, Chamkaur Cheema. I still miss this man's smile and the chuckle in his voice. I wish I could go back and do it all over again.
Hardest professor I've ever had. He takes you out of your comfort zone and forces you to do things that you'd otherwise never do. It's a hard and stressful course and you'll lose a lot of sleep in it. But he changes the way you think and makes you a better business person. I hated him the whole way through, until the end where it all made sense.
Difficult class if you don't like to read or study. Attendance is mandatory, for every class you miss you lose 1% of your grade. Difficult professor but I really liked his class, makes you think and get out of your comfort zone. Btw his jokes are not funny but he makes you laugh anyway.
Let me tell you a story about a man who applied to several universities to become an instructor back in the day but nobody wanted him. So when he eventually did get hired at KPU, he decided to ensure that he would have a job for life by designing a course that brings in funds for KPU by making students work like donkeys.
One of the best mentors from the ENTR program. He facilitates high standards in and outside the classroom. Chamkaur is a coach not a teacher. He has created an environment to allow students to develop there real life interpersonal business skills to become successful in the workforce.
Prepare to read and study. He has some good things to say, but sometimes gets off topic and talks about his family and life. He gives out questions for homework for you to hand in and even when you give him what he's looking for he still marks it wrong. He has some good dad jokes!
Terrible Attitude. Extremely rude in person. Couldnt bear me askin questions even one on one. Surprised an attitude like his get hired. Messed up my GPA.
