Pretty okay class-it's a relatively confusing subject with a wide range of cumulative things you need to understand fully, so kinda hard, but the professor and AI's are nice
Bridges is a super fun professor with a lot of Music Industry knowledge. He knows his stuff very well and is interesting to listen to. A lot of lecture and powerpoint time though, but he has a lots of great stories to tell.
Professor Chandler Bridges is a extremely talented musician and educator. In this class you'll learn the basics of studio sound production and fairly deep understanding of DAWS.
Class content is a little difficult by nature of the subject, but if you show up, you'll be good. It is set up in a really cool way where you got a lot of hands-on experience in the recording studio. Chandler is funny and really open to meeting with people outside of class and being understanding and flexible. He is a good mix of chill and engaged.
Very likable professor, but really hard to keep up if you dont know anything about audio technology.
A100 with Bridges was a cool class. You get to be in a recording studio and start to learn how things work. The powerpoint are really vague, though, and it's up to you to take notes on what he says and sometimes find out information on your own when things don't make sense. He always offers to give extra help if you need it.
interesting class and you can really learn some new knowledges and cool technique. Professor is very nice and enthusiasm
Not knowing too much about audio technology can seem really intimidating at first, but Chandler really takes his time to explain everything in an easy to understanding way if you pay attention. He clearly has a vast knowledge of the music recording industry, especially about microphones so he's always excited to answer questions.
Chandler was a great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and experienced in his field and loves to share it with everyone. He is accessible out of class and will give you feedback on personal projects, which is above and beyond and something he does not have to do. Overall loved having Dr. Bridges and highly recommend taking his courses.
Chandler is a great professor. He is extremely knowledgeable and willing to share his experience with everyone. Even not really knowing in these fields, he gives a lot of help both in class and outside of the class. His class is interesting also gives you a great opportunity to get familiar with the music recording and microphones. Highly recommend
Great spirited professor, knows how to get the whole class involved. Really enjoyed class.
Attendance is mandatory and even missing one class can put you behind. Hard course material very test heavy.
I think our professor is very approachable. He will be very concerned about the living conditions of the students and the state of the class. If you are unhappy or feel the pressure of the school, you can talk to him. He will listen carefully to your questions or suggestions for his class and then be very patient to answer all your questions.
A very passionate and knowledgeable professor.
A great teacher who really cares about the subject. He makes the material more understandable through his lectures
Chandler makes an exceptional effort to get everybody involved and inspired. Great guy who knows what he's talking about and is very accessible to those who are willing to make an effort.
very good professor
Really enjoyed your class
Chandler is a great professor that will do anything to help you succeed. The course is very technical and some of the material is difficult but a lot of it is common sense if you understand the basics.
Overall such a great professor. Very helpful and interesting to listen to. A100 is a fun and enjoyable class and Chandler makes it even better!
He's a great teacher who has gone the extra mile to make sure that this class was a really fun and non- intimidating course for me.
He knows what he's doing in his field for sure but his lectures are a little scattered, would not recommend taking this class if you have absolutely no audio experience.
I've never had a professor who both gave tons of homework yet did not overwhelm his class. He'll almost turn your brain to mush at the end of the 50 minutes but not quite. The lectures can be hard to follow with their work flow but easy to understand the subjects. It's not easy, but his teaching style makes the work load seem lighter.
- Does not waste time. Every last minute of class is packed with worthwhile information. - Extremely helpful outside of class. Offers advice for personal projects and careers - Understanding of personal matters/priorities. Takes the policy of "no academic emergencies" to heart.
Really amazing guy full of useful information. You'll never not learn something from him during the lectures. He makes the 50 minutes go by quick and you find yourself wanting even more.
He knows his stuff. Be prepared to be overloaded with small assignments. He is super friendly and easy to get along with. You can learn a lot of useful things from Dr. Bridges.
Chandler Bridges is the man. He's got Robin Williams in "Dead Poet's Society" level inspiration in the classroom, and he's always willing to help if you're having trouble learning something. Get to know this guy, it's worth it.
He'll make you work, but if you put in the effort you'll get a ton out of this class. If you don't put in the work you'll struggle, but he has lots of valuable experience and tips to share.
Chandler has a lot of knowledge on the music industry, and he is an expert at Pro Tools and studio engineering. However, he assigns a lot of busy work and has constant pop quizzes. His grading system isn't exactly clear, and he purposely overloads you with information. Sometimes one must drown before they can learn to swim. I'd take him again, tho.
Chandler has a lot of knowledge and experience in the industry. He definitely has the potential to be a fantastic teacher, but he does get side tracked sometimes. Story times can be fun, but we are here to learn and there has to be a balance. If you put the effort and time in, you will get the grade you want.
Chandler is a really amazing professor and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students and their success. While the class can be a LOT of work at times, he will be there for you through it all. He also is a master wiz at Pro Tools and really prepares you for the industry by giving you a head start on with Pro Tools and much needed advice
Great class! Learned a lot about the music industry. This professor has some crazy stories! Very entertaining.
Amazing professor. He knows exactly what he's talking about, and is one of the most knowledgable people regarding the music industry. Beware, he does assign a lot of work, and pop quizzes almost every single day but it will help you in the end. Professor is super willing to help students, makes himself available almost 24/7. He demands success.
Professor Bridges really knows his stuff! Decades of experience in the audio engineering and recording field has left him able to explain everything you might need to get started recording and editing your own stuff. The material itself ranges from pretty easy to fairly difficult, so make sure you actually go to class.
Chandler's the best! Take this class!
Great teacher and great content! Really pay attention and PLEASE do the reading and you will do great!
This was the only online class I had in the Fall 2020 that felt as informative and effective as pre-pandemic in-person classes. Chandler Bridges is clearly super passionate about the material and genuinely cares about you walking away from this class with useful, usable information
A100- Foundations of Audio Technology. This class was great! I took one of the last spots in the 7:30AM lab (there are other lab times!) just to join the class. Professor Bridges knows his stuff, and makes long lectures interesting. He's also extremely open to helping out students during or outside of class time. He just wants everyone to succeed.
Really knows his stuff. Helpful in and outside of class, and lets us attend recording sessions. I would take it again and recommend it for anyone whos getting into audio. This is everything you need!
Solid Professor who is well respected among IU students. He likes attendance and assessment but is very fair and aware of what students are going through.
He is awesome.
Huge range of information covered in the class, can be a bit difficult to process and if you get behind- its very difficult to catch up. He really does offer a lot of opportunities to get make up points and work with students on assignments.
Lots of fantastic information that I found very helpful as a musican and since he wrote the textbook, there's a lot of continuity between lectures and reading assignments. It is very difficult to catch up once you're behind and some of the coursework is difficult. Definitely not a class to take if you are not already interested in audio production.
Interesting material, but a lot is covered in a short amount of time. Easy to get behind if you don't understand something.
He is nice a guy and wants you to do well. I think that if you're interested in the subject matter that he's teaching, it will be worth the consistent work load. If not, you might feel like you're relearning a lot of things and it may feel kind of repetitive.
Chandler is a good professor. He understands that the class may be difficult for some students, so he's willing to slow down and answer questions you may have about the topic.
Chandler is a great professor, answers all of the students' questions, and is very thorough during lectures.
Chandler is very up front about the way he conducts his class. Lots of assignments and its a fast pace class but his grading and extra credits are friendly.
I absorbed lots of new knowledge and concepts with Professor Chandler Bridges. He cares about every single one of his students and he will always take the time to help anyone who is struggling. He truly wants us to succeed and learn. One of the most remarkable mentors and professors I have had the pleasure of learning from.
I loved this class and really enjoyed everything that the professor had to offer to teach.
Chandler is a great professor who really wants his students to be successful and is always supportive of his students. There is a LOT of material covered in this course which makes it a bit overwhelming at times. I would 100% take a class with Professor Bridges again.
Professor Bridges is one of those professors who genuinely cares for all of his students. As times have been extremely difficult this year, Professor Bridges has done all he can to engage with students and to ensure that we all have a safe and healthy environment to work in.
This class has been very useful for me as a music major, but it can also be great for anyone else who is interested in music! We go over a lot of content, but all of it is interesting and it's not too hard to get a grasp of. Incredibly useful, would recommend!
Really good intro class if you know nothing or very little about digital audio recording, but also very specific to that field. If you are interested in something broader, this class is not for you.
This class was very information dense but really good information if you're interested in music, especially production. Professor Bridges is an awesome professor and is always open to questions. He makes sure you understand the material and is a very reasonable grader. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he teaches! Highly recommend
Professor Bridges is a very accessible professor. He is easy to access outside of class and offers several avenues for contact. He keeps his word to get back to you about anything and is very understanding. His teaching is straightforward and easy to understand and the assignments are not too difficult and fun to do.
Really great prof and cares about his students success. He puts time into his lectures, so make sure to go because his content is important. If you go to class, you can pass his tests.
Prof Bridges is incredibly knowledgeable about the subject matter he is teaching, and has ample real world experience with music production. The class is information dense and takes a fair amount of work, but there are a lot of grades in the gradebook so there is some leniency in overall grade. I found the class very enjoyable and enlightening!
Chandler is a really fun teacher to have! He is super well respected in the industry and does a great job of teaching you the basics!
Professor Chandler did a great job adapting his in-person audio engineering class to an online setting. The only negative with this class is that if you get behind on homework, it can be very difficult to catch up. If you stay on top of things, this is a very rewarding class with a very experienced teacher. I would highly recommend this class!
Professor Bridges really makes sure that we understand the complex audio engineering concepts bu breaking them down to the basics. This course is a great introduction into the audio engineering world for anybody.
He has a lot of experience in the industry, which is very useful. However, there are a lot of 100-point assignments.
Material that will be on the test needs to be more emphasized instead of in passing. That was a constant problem with him. I don't want to hear "You could use this information if you want," on a topic that we NEED.
Took this class entirely online. Even still, Prof. Bridges was very helpful and managed to break down in detail concepts that I previously knew nothing about. He's a very passionate and knowledgeable guy and I thoroughly enjoyed his class. I did make the mistake of signing up for a lab for the class at 7:30 AM though. Maybe don't do that.
Overall a great Professor. Can be tough on you, but it's to prepare the students for what's to come when they get out in the professional world.
Chandler is a very caring professor, but gives a lot of work which can be great or your down fall. If you apply yourself, you'll get a lot of knowledge out of this course because of his many years in the entertainment industry. He knows what he's talking about, but can sometimes be unreasonable when it comes to certain policies.
Chandler has a great class where every bit of info feels important. His only issue is that he has A LOT of info to give, almost too much to handle
A100 is a great course for students that have interest in music at all levels. Chandler is an exceptionally accomplished professor that has achieved success outside of the classroom (which makes him more relatable). You don't have to want to become an Audio Engineer to take this class or even be successful in it.
Chandler is my favorite Professor and educator in general that I've ever come across just because of his raw energy and passion for the people in his class. He genuinely cares about every single person and is VERY established to teach this class. If you're at all into producing music or mixing TAKE THE CLASS!! You will love it as much as I did.
Chandler did a fantastic job relaying his love and excitement of audio to his students
He's super nice and always ready to answer any question you might have about the homework or the concepts you learn.
Chandler is a great Professor, he was always ready to answer any question I had and he would make sure I actually understood. He is also very accommodating and understanding. Definitely take a class with him.
Chandler is a really chill professor, and is always ready to work with you on a personal recording project, or answer any questions you might have about class. Just keep in mind, that attendance is for a grade, so that's a really easy way to tank your overall. Other than that, just do assignments on time, and you'll enjoy the class a lot!
Dr. Bridges is very passionate about teaching foundations in audio tech and is an inspirational teacher. There is a difficulty spike in the class after the first month so it is important to show up every day! Attendance is part of the grade so be sure to show up to class to make sure you're graded properly!
He's a great teacher! Show up to lecture and lab and you'll be just fine. Take advantage of the ability to redo online quizzes. He's also very understanding of absences; just let him know
A100 is a great class for students getting into Audio Engineering as well as music students in general. I personally really enjoyed lectures with Chandler, he keeps it very light just with his personality alone, but also incorporates videos into his lectures and overall loves to engage students. I would highly recommend the class to all interested.
Prof. Bridges made A100 great and really made it easy to learn the basics of sound engineering. He has great connections and is very accessible and helpful. Highly recommend his class!
show up and do your work to get an a. lectures and labs are pretty interesting. briefly shows tests before you take them, so no big surprises.
This class was very fun and very useful without being overly stressful. I enjoyed every topic we went over, from mixing and mastering to the mechanics of the ear. Dr. Bridges was excellent at always making the class as enjoyable as it could be, and it has made me seriously consider applying for the audio engineering program at Jacobs.
I really enjoyed class with Mr. Bridges. One can see he is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject. He makes you want to learn and go deeper just by being super interesting and never by pressuring you with a lot of assignments.
This is one of the few Professors I've had who only cares about learning. Grades are just a number.
Chandler Bridges is a great teacher. He most certainly has experience in the music industry. He cares about his students and wants to help those interested in entering the music industry.
Dr Bridges is a very relatable character for students and understands the stresses on kids outside of his own class. He is more than willing to make accommodations for anyone's specific scenarios. I'd highly recommend taking one of his classes, especially if you can knock out a Gen Ed.
I think that the quizzes offered were easy enough.
Pretty chill professor! although class is a bit assignment heavy.
This professor was very laid back and allowed for students to see this class as more of a fun way to learn more rather than just a grade. I enjoyed the topics we learned about and how they were presented
Dr. Bridges is the definition of a perfect professor. He teaches the material for our learning purposes so that we can actually retain the knowledge and not be extremely stressed to just know it for strenuous tests. Class is entertaining and informative, and I couldn't ask for a better professor.
For someone who is not heavily involved in music, Professor Bridge made me want to learn more. His classes are always interesting and he is one of the kindest teachers I have ever met!
Seriously my best professor this semester. Class fulfilled my GenEd requirement but was also just super interesting especially since I'm a music kid. Professor Bridges was extremely available outside of class and very willing to help student with their personal projects and endeavors. Very passionate about his work, super smart, and an awesome guy
Mr. Bridges goal is for you to learn and most importantly, enjoy yourself whilst doing it. He purposely makes himself very available to students for anything they need, and is extremely understanding when it comes to late work or anything of that nature. As long as you communicate with him, youll have a wonderful experience!
Dr. Bridges is a fantastic professor. You can tell that he truly cares about his students and is passionate about the subject he teaches. If my major was related to music I would definitely take more of his classes.
Not only does Professor Bridges make his material digestible, fun and accurate, but he's very well respected in his field. He is a huge part of the reason I am attempting to make it into the Audio Engineering program at Indiana University and if you're interested in the concept of Sound Production, I highly recommend his class.
Chandler is great! I just wish assignments were more spoke about because sometimes things are late because we don't know that we have assignments.
Chandler is a very caring and nice professor, he is laidback and cares about how his students do in the class. The content is interesting too.
he is a great professor
He would answer every question no matter how simple or complex to the best of his ability. Was always very kind to the class.
Prof. Bridges is a great guy. He has a genuine love for what he does and it shows. He is pretty chill and will gladly answer any questions. He is also very available and will respond promptly to any emails or messages sent from students.
Great teacher, I really enjoyed the class.
Great professor, I learned a lot to help me advance my music career
Chandler is one of the best professors I've had so far. He's incredibly caring and super devoted to actually teaching his students. The concepts in his A100 course were so easy to grasp because he explains them so well. Also is a very laid back guy who is happy to help outside of class as well.
Chandler is a passionate teacher and it's easy to tell that he loves what he does and cares about his students. MUS-A 100 was an incredibly valuable class and I learned enough to be able to confidently record and produce a track, which as a musician is incredibly valuable knowledge.
Professor Bridges is definitely one the most amazing instructors out there. To add on to our instruction, he shared his experiences within the music industry which made things interesting.
Chandler is an awesome professor! He is an expert in the material and is very easily accessible outside class if students are interested in learning more. Chandler also understands that most people who take his class are filling a gen ed requirement, so there's not a lot of work. The lab sections are so fun and its overall a great class!
By no means was I the best student in his class, especially towards the end, but as long as you stay on top of things, especially any additional Kaltura content in Canvas, you'll do just fine in A100! Dr. Bridges knows his stuff and how to handle a lecture with a broad array of students from different degree programs.
Chandler instructs a very, very difficult course, no getting around it. However, if you communicate with him, ask for help, and do your best to keep up with the course load, you will learn more from him than anyone else. Chandler's A102 is not for the faint of heart, but it's a required course for a reason.
He is a very caring professor that you can definitely learn a lot from if you fully engage in this class. I will be honest, the workload was incredibly overwhelming in the beginning, but he listened to our needs and was willing to be flexible with assignments as long as you communicate with him. Definitely a hard class but very necessary.
Dr. Bridges definitely knows how to push his students. Though he gives a ton of assignments, he is always available for help outside of class and the best advice I can offer is to be transparent with him and communicate with him. He is almost always very understanding and accommodating. He is extremely knowledgeable and a great resource all around!
Professor Bridges is an expert in his field and can answer any related question. Labs were incredibly educational and provided real experience working in recording studios. A102 isn't terribly difficult, but there is a decent amount of work in the first half of the semester. However, the work is worth it since it is all incredibly relevant.
I had no expectations about this class, as someone who has never really gotten into creating music or playing any instrument for that matter. And what I got was far from what I expected, in my personal opinion I say he far exceeded my expectations. Amazing class and would recommend it.
Dr. Bridges is a great professor! I took the class to fulfill a GenEd requirement, but still found myself having a blast of a time. He has a lot of great advice and wonderful stories from the music industry to tell in the lectures.
One of the best professors I have had. You can tell he's passionate about what he teaches. Truly makes the classroom enjoyable.
Prof. Bridges is super charismatic and helpful; getting straight to the point in lectures and willing to answer any questions.
Professor Bridges is always well prepared for class and always willing to answer questions patiently from students. I personally have a lot of fun taking his class!
I really appreciate his teaching style during lectures, and can easily understand class material by his teaching.
I really enjoy Prof Bridges. He is very knowledgeable and active in his field and has some fantastic lectures. Goes really in-depth and uses visualizations that helped a lot. This class is by far the best gen-ed science credit you can take. It's interesting but also reasonable in its workload and that helped me a lot this semester. 100/10
Professor Bridges helped me become interested in a class I was not that excited about taking at first, but it quickly became the best and most interesting part of my week. He's awesome.
Chandler was an amazing professor with a clear teaching style. HIs freedom in the classroom gives the students a platform to express whatever they need. I would love to take another class under his teaching!
Professor Bridges has a great understanding (and clear passion) for what he teaches! Labs are very important and fun. Was so excited to take a class about audio engineering while not being a Jacobs student.
good class overall
Chandler is very thorough and entertaining in lectures. He is willing to answer all questions and I feel that students were comfortable in his classroom. You have to be committed to attendance as lab attendance is a good portion of your grade!
Good class to take for beginners. Prof. is helpful and interesting.
I think Chandler is a clearly very passionate and knowledgable about this subject. From day one, it's abundantly clear just how much he wears his love for music and production on his sleeve. I recommend this class for people who are passionate about music production. I struggled to participate in this class due to my interests not being in music.
Mr. Bridges was very engaged with the class during lectures, and very obviously passionate about what he was teaching us. He is very knowledgeable and experienced in his line of work. This made it easy for me to respect him, and want to learn from him.
Prof. Bridges is incredibly passionate about audio and he wants to help those that are also passionate. In just one outside meeting with him he gave me several direct options to broaden my audio experience even though I wasn't an audio major. He provides a lot of extra credit, getting to work in a studio is super cool, this class rocks.
Professor Bridges was great to have. I am not a music major but he still made the topics easy to understand with his lectures. The labs were awesome!
He is an amazing teacher and has good techniques of teaching.
Prof.B is cool. As long as you ask questions its pretty easy to follow what's happening.
He is very knowledgeable and makes coming to class fun every lecture. Even if you have no audio or daw experience, the course is very smooth and he is available for help!
Professor Chandler Bridges' lessons are always enjoyable to attend. He is good at teaching but also in a great sense of humor.
Great teacher, shows that he knows what he is talking about and cares about teaching. Wonderful guy.
This professor conveys the course material super well and you can tell how much experience he has. He is able to be professional, yet still be funny and be real with us. His teaching style is very realistic and he values progress over test taking ability.
This man is one of the most engaging professors I've ever dealt with and I'm glad I took this class in the fall because it switches each semester. I strongly recommend taking this class as a major or a non major in music.
Okay so the only reason my grade is what it is is because I'm just not all too great with technology shenanigans. Honestly, probably the ONLY reason I'm passing is because this professor is super knowledgable and passionate about it. Dude loves the subject, and loves teaching. & When I say attendance not mandatory, you still SHOULD go.
Professor bridges is an awesome professor and has so many great experiences and has done so many cool things. Having him teach a class with so much experience and doing so much in the music world is a gift to all of his students.
He's a nice guy - funny, knows what he's talking about.
A interesting leader, teacher, friend.
Best professor!
Great professor, always fun and interactive, learned so much in this course! Especially loved learning about mixing in the studio.
great class
This is a good professor, i will take more of his class if i have need.
He is very passionate about his course and makes sure we truly understand the material. Overall it is a fun class.
This was my favorite class this semester! Dr. Bridges has a ton of experience and is clearly very passionate about what he teaches. He made concepts easy to understand and made sure we understood it well before moving on. The labs were super hands-on and engaging, and I looked forward to going to class every day.
I really enjoy his class
Professor Bridges is super nice and extremely inspirational! He's very easy to work with and is always willing to help you out with anything you need!
I really enjoyed taking A100 with Professor Bridges. He is very knowledgeable about the subject matter and he seems to really care that his students learn and enjoy the course. He is super accessible outside of class and is always helpful if you have a question or want to learn more information about a topic. Overall it was a great class.
Prof. Bridges is one of my favorite professors I have ever gotten. Along with being funny, he knows what he is talking about and lectures are always packed with good information about being an audio engineer, which is my area of study.
My main issue with the course is that many assignments were spread through different tabs on canvas making it very easy to miss assignments and lose point due to late penelty.
Dr. Bridges is primarily concerned that his students leave his class having learned something. If you do that, he will be sure to make sure the class goes smoothly for you.
He is so passionate in music production. He knows just really good about audio engineering. I definitely will choose his class again, I just like the way he wants us to record music so we have enough practice.
Professor Bridges gives a bunch of extra credit and is very flexible about due dates and attendance. He's super knowledgeable about audio engineering, has a great sense of humor, and his lectures are enjoyable.
Loved Professor Bridges! Definitely was a very nice professor and made sure we learned rather than just did well on exams. Had a great TA that also helped as well.
You can tell Professor Bridges loves his work and it shows how knowledgeable he is on audio engineering. He makes lectures enjoyable with his sense of humor and is very inviting. His lectures are packed with information so definitely attend.
Great professor. Always has an answer to any question you throw at him. Extremely knowledgeable about everything relating to audio engineering and the music industry. Also a very funny guy. If you need anything, all you have do is email him and he will respond. I would highly recommend him if you have an interest in mixing or audio engineering.
Professor Bridges has been a fantastic resource when it comes to learning class material and is just somebody who is easy to talk to. I've really enjoyed participating in his lectures with his humorous teaching style. He is also very responsive and cares about the student. I would absolutely take this class again given the choice.
Dr. Bridges is someone who enjoyed teaching class. Although everyone dreads waking up and going to class, he found a joy in doing it and teaching students about audio. Never a dull moment in the classroom. If I could take one of his classes again I would
He is a little quirky but in the best way. He is very respected amongst peers in music and has a lot of really cool background stories. Very enjoyable class if you like music.
He's a good professor but seems fairly laid back for such a heavy course. He means well and isn't trying to fail anyone, he just wants everyone capable to be on top of all the work he gives out. Overall, good class.
Chandler is a really cool professor. The class is super busy but he gives you a lot of support!
Professor Bridges is really great. He has tons of experience in the industry which translates to all the knowledge he gives students. He pushes you to learn as much as you can be the best person you can be and sometimes it is challenging but it's all worth it. Trust in the process.
Great source of energy for your day. Really knows his stuff!!
He is very nice and a knowledgeable teacher. Don't expect to get through his class without reading a ton and doing a ton of assignments.
Good teacher just make sure you stay on top of your assignments as there are a lot to complete
Chandler has high expectations, but because he wants his students to succeed. Expect the class to be chock full of assignments, but so long as you make an attempt, you'll absorb the content. Be prepared to immerse yourself in Pro Tools because, as Chandler says [in regards to the industry] , "Being good at Pro Tools is simply not enough. Be great."
I really liked being in his class and getting to learn from him this semester. The labs that we did throughout the semester were hands on and great experience for learning the concepts from class; as well as getting to know more about signal flow. This class gave me a lot more insight into Pro Tools and how to improve my workflow.
Chandler's a great and inspirational professor that has a lot of wisdom, however he can be very unpredictable. Make sure you think before you take all of his advice. Definitely follow all of his guidelines.
Chandler is an incredibly skilled and intelligent instructor, and you will learn a lot in a very short amount of time. The biggest thing that tends to bother my classmates is that he doesn't hesitate to remind students that life isn't fair.
I feel mixed, some things worked well, and some didn't. Very considerate prof, but some expectations were left very unclear until the end. I understand learning adaptability but this left a stressful air that lingered throughout the course. Also, the course was super duper front-loaded and 1/100 late policy, so it felt impossible to recover.
Passionate about his teaching
He is so funny and always own to help students whenever
Take this class from him. Its a super fun class and theres lots of extra credit.
as long as you show up, and put in some effort, you will be able to do well in the class.
Good man
Honestly he's a great guy and makes classes very enjoyable.
Attendance is very important in this class, but is easyish if you try enough
Chandler is an amazing educator. He really cares about the student learning more than the grade they receive on a given a assignment. He's a very happy and extraverted person in the lectures and you seem to always have a good time in them.
Great class and a great professor. He also really wants you succeed and gives extra credit. Just be sure to be on time for class and you'll do great.
I appreciate how Chandler structures his class - no matter how far behind you get, you always have the opportunity to bounce back. In that sense, I would say this class is more of an open catalogue of information, where you can just take what you need from it, and you get an A regardless. It isn't a test of your knowledge, it's entirely a resource.
A100 with Prof. Bridges is a breeze. He is really forgiving on the tests and classwork, you can easily get a high grade as long as you attend class and do extra credit stuff. Bridges is also willing to discuss topics completely outside the scope of the syllabus after class and tries his best to be engaging and entertaining during class.
Dr. Bridges is good at explaining things in simple, practical terms. He's a helpful teacher and easy to approach. My main complaint with his introductory audio tech class is that there is a lot of homework/reading that is not addressed at all in lectures/labs.
Can't complain! Its a good class with one rocking professor. Gotta take the class, man! Its def worth it.
very cool and understanding guy, and you will pass if you just show up majority of the time.
Prof. Bridges is the goat. He makes it extremely clear how everything you're doing impacts your grade, and he provides more than enough knowledge to make the tests in this class easy to pass if you pay attention. Prof. Bridges is always positive and makes the class interesting for all varieties of students, not just audio engineering students.
Dr. Bridges is very epic. He is knowledgable, a clear-communicator, cares for his students, and is funny. I took his A100 Foundations of Audio Tech class - it was enjoyable and contained a lot of cool information. Dr. Bridges intentionally makes this class accessible for anyone, not just music students.
Great at explaining complex concepts and is a very engaging lecturer. You can tell he loves what he does from the way he speaks and his passion goes a long way.
Attendance is 50% of your grade. Chandler is super chill.
He is very clear and is good at explaining unfamiliar concepts in digestible ways through analogies, visual aid, demonstrations, etc.
Great professor, super nice, can help whenever. Has tolerance for a few late assignments but will know if you just aren't putting in effort.
Very cool and low stress class where Professor Bridges wants you to succeed.
Professor Bridges is excellent at keeping students engaged in the material with humor and real-world examples. His lectures are informative and feature visual and auditory examples to help students retain the information.
Before starting this class I was pretty intimidated by Audio technology/engineering but Chandler made everything easy to understand. Labs are also really fun in my opinion!
Great professor that clearly wants his students to succeed. I would take him again.
Chandler has amassed tons of real life experience in the field he teaches. He knows how to tell you about anything in the simplest terms possible. Lectures are fun and engaging. Loved his class!
This teacher is very laid back yet a great teacher in teaching this class. I would definitely take his class again.
Very knowledgeable on subject matter, but most lectures don't seem to really apply to assignments. Not enough communication between Professor and Associate Instructors who taught the discussion sections. I feel like a lot of information is just kind of thrown at students and not given a lot of resources to actually retain it.
Good class, not too heavy in terms of course load, some lectures can seem to lack direction as some assignments demand content that isn't talked about in lecture too much.
Very passionate about what he teaches. The labs are very hands on which are helpful to absorb the info. He has lots of references in the real world.
good professor!
He is an amazing and professional teacher!
Good
Great class great teacher easy A
Took this class for credit but the content was very applicable to the real world. Lectures were great but the drills are when one gets to practice what was taught in the class. Explains things succinctly and clearly. Get ready to read, however. The quizzes get rather tricky.
This class is an incredible gen ed. Professor Bridges is extremely kind hearted and makes lectures fun and interesting. Just show up to class and you should get a good grade.
Loved this class!
Dr. Bridges is a caring, funny, and detail-oriented professor. He is well-versed in his areas of expertise and provides tons of good insight. Even though lectures may be confusing to keep up with at times, the content is still interesting after all. There are a bunch of lengthy readings, and attendance is graded. Also, be sure to use extra credit!
Chandler Bridges is an amazing audio teacher at IU! He is very passionate about audio production and is very reasonable if there any issues.
Very lecture heavy so attending to lecture matters a lot. He's funny and makes class fun.
Very fun guy with a lot of enthusiasm for teaching. Amazing at what he does and very humble. Always making jokes and teaching well.
Great guy!
He was a great professor!
Great class and you get a lot of cool experience in a real recording studio. Attendance is important but as long as you are in class you will pass.
I think he's overall very good and he definitely front loads the class so towards the end of the semester there are some kind of pointless lectures
Chandler is a very wise, yet very strict professor. While he provides great information, often he does so in a harsh, stressful, fast-paced manner. It is frustrating when plans constantly change in the class, and advance notice is not a thing. Coarse catalog is great, with lots of reading. Do your work in the class and you can get an A.
Chandler is charismatic and he knows his stuff but that was quickly overshadowed by the fact that he shows up late to almost every single class and lacks professionalism. Issues with the syllabus were our responsibility to call out. After the first couple of months of the semester, I started dreading the class. In general, lacks organization.
Very fun teacher. Most lectures don't have a ton of structure. However, Chandler has a lot of audio experience and good insights.
Chandler is very knowledgable and wants all of his students to succeed. Make sure to turn in all assignments on time and go to every class. Sometimes he can be unpredictable and lacks communication when it comes to getting to class on time, he was often late and it took up a good chunk of time out of our learning.
Chandler is such a great professor. Whatever grade you want you can get as long as you take time to do the work. There are lots of extra credit opportunities, that are super easy and take no time. Also, he is really down to earth (considering his resume) and wants to see you succeed.
Chandler Bridges knows the material extremely well and offers very valuable insight and information. However, he is unorganized which causes a good amount of unneeded stress. Chandler cares about his students and wants them to do well, but does not hold himself to the same standards and expectations he has for the students.
Chandler is a very knowledgeable professor who has a lot of wisdom to share with students. Sometimes though, he seems to be unprepared for lectures and proceeds to create a class on the spot. Another thing to watch out for is the front-loaded work in the beginning of the semester, but then the light load near the end. Also, he is usually late.
Chandler is definitely one of the best at what he teaches, but he's often difficult to work with. He commonly shows up late to class, and has a very loose plan with the course. I have found his course very stressful due to how unpredictable and short tempered he is. However, I have learned a lot and gained great experience from my time with him.
A very nice professor who is always there for you when times are tough. Knows his stuff well.
Everything was pretty cool, the only major thing I have feedback on is that Chandler to take a full 5% off the final grade if a student is late even once... and then Chandler himself showed up to nearly all classes between 10-15 minutes late. That's absolutely ridiculous.
Somewhat big workload but you learn a lot.
The course lacks structure and was pretty unorganized. He was very accessible outside of class, though, if you had any questions. A lot of the lectures seemed to be made up on the spot. However he has a lot of knowledge, so if you throw a question at him, he will have an answer, and a thorough one at that.
Chandler is a knowledgeable professor, though his lectures can lack structure at times. The workload is manageable, and there are plenty of extra credit opportunities. Unstuckstudy was a helpful study tool alongside the textbook. Attendance is mandatory, but Chandler is sometimes late himself.
