Excellent teacher, but accent can be troublesome.
he either likes you or he doesn't and it def shows if he doesn't
No Comments
Friendly, but accent is tough to understand and has clear biases in grading
No Comments
Sometimes he rambles on and on. Hard to understand. Okay guy. Weird grader.
Good teacher, let's u make up speeches, and extend time limits
Very, very disorganized...rambles well past the end of class.
a crazy but cool guy. Needs to speak in a engalish though

gets much better as the semester goes on...really is a good guy
Very caring and helpful with his students. All you have to do is PAY ATTENTION.
Dr. Chang has a great heart.. and he is really excited about teaching
Alright, we all know that sometimes Dr. Chang isn't easy to understand, but the man is intelligent, hardworking, and is always there to help you any way he can. Great guy.

He is really nice and smart...just a little hard to understand.
What's with foreign ppl trying to teach speech? Supplies needed for class: #1translator #2cola jolt to be awake #3big binder. nice guy tho...
When it comes down to it, profs should speak English. Chang is an awesome guy but cannot SPEAK OUR LANGUAGE. If you're a comm major, you'll have him lots of times though.
Changfu is a pretty good guy with his heart in the right place - but he's next to impossible to understand.
I love Dr. Chang...hes an awesome proff and such a great person.
A very nice man. Knows what he is talking about but you might not be able to figure it out. He loves to teach but he still speaks in broken Engligh and gets very hard to understand when he gets excited. Turn everything in ontime and you will do fine
Chang is easy if you just pay attention. Don't disrespect him or miss class - you will never pass the class.
Dr. Chang is great! A very fun guy with a passion for education. If you pay attention you will find him easy to understand dispite his broken english.
Dr. Chang is the coolest ever. If you pay attention in his class you won't have any trouble understanding him. He is very knowledgeable!!
Easy class if you know what you are doing but when it comes to him, better get a translator.
Dr. Chang is totally unqualified to teach a speech class because he DOES NOT SPEAK ENGLISH. His lectures are garbled and disorganized, and he doesnt speak, teach or know how to use powerpoint, although he tries to do all mercilessly. I hated him!
Ok, so I didn't learn too much in TV1, but Dr. Chang has a big heart. He really cares about his students. He knows a LOT, especially about making documentaries, but doesn't know how to explain it too well. Don't miss a class.
Dr. Chang knows alot about making TV shows, and that's exactly why he's at Millersville. It's really too bad that all COMM profs have to teach Speech class, cause he hates it and it brings down his score here!
no one knows more about tv production than doc chang. to get a good grade in his courses go to EVERY class, and get to know him. he grades a lot on attitude and your willingness to do work. despite what people think, it's easy to get past his broken en
i love dr chang. he is the sweetest man.. and knows a ton about tv production.
This class became one of my favorite classes. Dr. Chang is a very nice guy, yes you may find his broken english hard to understand at times, but the class is fun and he cares a lot about you if you repsect and get to know him and attened every class!!
Although he is very hard to understand, his class is pretty easy to get a good grade in. He counts attendance pretty heavily, and helps out a great deal when it comes to delivering speeches. Turned out not to be so bad after all
Kinda hard to understand sometimes, but really helpful. Quizzes are online and really easy. Speech grading isn't always consistent. Pretty easy, would recommend him.
Dr. Chang was a great professor. He understood that students were nervous in front of the class and he tried to help them. He is a very nice guy and he takes attendance seriously. He is sweet though. I would recomment him.
Okay, so he has an accent. He's still a fun and enthuiastic professor. This was the first college course I ever took, and he really went out of his way to help me with the material. Just a genuinely nice guy.
little hard to understand at first, but u can get past it. his class is easy without too much effort required. he is a really nice guy, he even brings in food sometimes to his classes!
Cool guy, very nice, brings in food. Hard to understand almost 100% of the time, and sometimes openly critizes students very harshly... But overall, a good prof.
Such a cute, sweet guy. Really cared about our class and brought us treats! He knows his stuff, though it is hard to understand him sometimes. Read up and listen up and you'll learn alot. Pretty easy to do well.
I just took TV 1 and I got a B in the class even though I only put effort into the last project - makes you work in huge groups. He's a real sweet guy, you just have to try to get past his thick accent and excitedness! I'm in TV 2 now and its more smaller groups and real-life based projects.
Hes soo sweet... but hes very "hyper"... hes always bouncing around from place to place, its a lil confusing at times... but hes a good Prof.
Dr. Chang is so sweet! Kinda hard to understand at times, but he's a real sweetheart. He grades speeches easily and understands that everyone is afraid of public speaking. Cept for final, all the quizes are online/ open notes. Easy A!
It seems like communication should be an important part in being a COMM prof, but he's tough to understand. He often plays on students' pity towards him. Lots of wasted class time covering topics repeatedly. Try to get Seigworth in TV1... you'll actually learn how to use the equipment.(important)
Professor Chang is very kind and enthusiastic about his job. He is willing to listen to our ideas and concerns. Meanwhile he is a little difficult to understand and it takes some time to develop an ear for his strong accent. Overall, he's a very good professor.
If you don't get an A in this class you simply just didn't come and didn't bother to pay attention.
One of the best professors I have ever had, really nice guy, really helpful, and he grades really easy. He comes to calss saying how he wants everyone to get A's and he takes time out of his personal life to make sure that everyone does. Take as many of his classes as u can!
Good prof, just hard to understand sometimes. Once we explained throughly what was wrong, he finally gave us the answer we were looking for.
Okay so basically here's the deal with Chang. Try to get as involved as possible, it's all hands-on learning in these classes. I didnt do much in tv 1 and learned little. In TV 2 I took on a group leader role and learned SOOO much. Just be prepared to spend ALOT of time outside the class!
dr chang is the man. he´s hard to understand at times but if you dont understand just ask him what the hell he said and he´s super helpful. he knows so much about the field. mu is lucky to have him
Awesome and most sweetest guy ever. Even though he's hard to understand at times he is hillarious. My class especially jokes around with him all the time and it makes things not boring.
I loved Chang! I hate public speaking, so I really didn't want to take the class, but he made me feel so at ease all the time. He made me laugh, and our class was so laid back...sure he is a little difficult to understand at times, but that and his funny little smile makes him all the cuter!
He is very hard to understand and easily exciteable and manipulated. He didn't teach me too much more than what I had learned in AV from Dr. Greg. He thinks very highly of himself and lets you know that he knows he's the best professor in the comm. dept. But, he's not.
Hard worker. He's in his office 7 days a week, he's basically living in his office. Willing to help you, no matter how long it takes. If you pay attention to his class, you will have no trouble with his "acent". If his acent is the reason you failed, then you are using that as a excuse because you are dumb.
cChang is hilarious. I love this guy, hes so cute and very nice. Doesn't like ppl missing his class, but class is fun, even though you can't understand him sometimes but all you have to do is tell him to slow down. Take Chang!
Chang is a very good professor. He teaches very fairly and is ALWAYS willing to help (even from home). Has a bit of an accent but nothing too bad, just concentrate on what he says. He likes hard workers and rewards you for it.
Fun easy class. I learned alot through the discussions, and you do not have to read the chapter- just the vocab. If you speak up in class respectfully, which is highly opinionated in orientation, you will do well. He wants people to come to class, but the class is worth going to. Also, we watch alot of movies!
Terrible teacher hands down. Very cocky about his own work but doesn't even know Final Cut Pro. I'm going to get an A and I still don't like him. He is hard to understand but that won't effect you instead his inability to teach is.
Very good teacher. Likes his job and enjoys helping the students. Knew what he was talking about and made class fun! I took him in a short winter semester so it was long days but he made them enjoyable! Take this class for your P or CDC.
Fun and energetic. Sometimes hard to understand if he speaks too fast. If class participates he is very helpful, but gets frustrated when the class does not interact. Biggest pet peeve is attendance so you have to go to class.
A little unclear at times, but overall a fairly easy speech class!
Dr. Chang is a GREAT editor, but it can be difficult to understand what he is saying. If you take TV1 with him, be sure to have some background knowledge of Final Cut Pro! Even as an experienced editor going into the class, I still learned from Dr. Chang.
He's not the greatest teacher I have ever had but he's an extremely nice guy and he doesn't even realize how funny he can be at times! However, he is hard to understand and talks fast. He's cares a lot about attendance and assures you that if you come to every class you will pass. Show interest and he'll notice. Tests are easy, know the terms!
He's a really nice guy, very funny and enjoyable, but it's also VERY hard to understand what he's saying sometimes. The content isn't all that interesting, and I don't feel like I learned a lot from his class (in fact I never even bought the book and it didn't affect me). Still, he's a good prof.
Avoid if you can. Spends the first 30 mins of class taking role and asking everyone how their life is EVERYDAY. Rambles A LOT, often hard to understand because of his accent. Book is absolutely necessary for the online projects. Test are curve balls because you spend most of your time doing projects and not learning the stuff on the test. The worst
Funny, inspirational
Very nice guy, quirky sense of humor. Sometimes he talks too fast, but he'll repeat things if you ask and he's willing to help any way he can. Relatively easy class with a few quizzes and group AV projects. Attendance is importance to him, and even said a few times that as long as ppl had perfect attendance, they would pass the class.
He's so sweet and adorable, and he really cares about his students. He's hard to understand at first but you'll get used to it. He's pretty lenient too, as long as you do the work. He doesn't grade very hard.
For everyone complaining about his English, GTFO. Concentrate and make the effort to understand and you'll be perfectly fine. If you can't make out what he's saying, ask him to repeat himself or slow down. If you fail or even score below a C, you're the problem, not him. If you take Comm 317 (intercultural), take Changfu Chang!
This professor is the worst professor I have had at Millersville. He made no sense, and very rarely finished a sentence. He would go Office on ridiculous tangents about his life, not talk about things we needed to learn, and would give unecessarily hard test questions. But hes an easy grader for presentations and other assignments.
Gives pop quizzes almost every week, some of them are bonuses. Three exams(not cumulative) and a final project. The case studies are easy if you follow the correct format.
He is hard, but he pushes you to learn.
Changfu is the type of Professor that enjoys to speak about his experience within the industry of film making. He hates the University he is in with extreme passion. He doesn't teach as he is incapable, instead all he does is recommends you study anything related to film making by watching videos or watching his movies.
Truly cares about his students, ends all his emails with "love you all!". He's expressed to my class that he hates teaching speech because he is not a native English speaker, so be kind to him. He sometimes rambles and jumps from thought to thought so make sure you stay tuned in.
Class is incredibly boring. A quiz every week, with two major exams. One major group project at the end of the semester. His classes are a drag, but he's such a sincere guy who obviously cares about his students. He's willing to help if you need it, and he's a very fair grader.
Many people will tell you Dr. Chang is a bit scatter-brained, but he knows what he's talking about when you look past that. He's a very funny teacher and can teach you a lot if you talk with him outside class
He has become one of my favorite professors at MU. Only because a man has an accent, it doesn't mean that he is incompetent to teach. He is very entertaining and fun. He cares a lot what he delivers to his students and you will learn a lot if you pay attention and care about the subject at all.
Dr. Chang is amazing! I've taken two classes with him and would sign up for a third in a heartbeat. It is very clear that he cares deeply about his students as people as well as pupils. When school was shut down due to Covid he transitioned seamlessly to online instruction and made sure he was available via zoom and email to respond to questions
Dr. Chang is the best professor I have had at Millersville University. He is by far the most qualified professor in the communications department, and he will help you with anything you need. The university should feel privileged to have Dr. Chang teaching in the communications department.
He's very hard to understand and speaks very quickly. He doesn't give extensions and grades toughly. Rants about how bad the university is. Literally calls himself a bad professor and uses YouTube to teach for him. Doesn't demonstrate proper use of equipment. Does not help outside of class hours.
Dr Chang seems like a good person. I took this class online and from what i could tell, he cares about his students. He graded very fair. I didnt learn much in this class to be honest. Theres 4 speeches and a paper at the end. Theres also a quiz every week on 1/2 chapters from the textbook. Bought a $60 textbook for no reason bc he gave one
Chang is sometimes scatterbrained during lectures, and is difficult to follow, especially since he's talking about technical aspects of filmmaking and cameras. He will slow down to clarify if asked but usually blows through subjects quickly. Hope that you like the people in your first group project, because they will remain the same. Says ok a lot.
He seems like someone who really cares about his students. He is very enthusiastic and the class is easy to pass if you are responsible.
I didn't learn much in Dr. Chang's class. He definitely is experienced and qualified to teach this class but he doesn't know how to teach the concepts very well. Most of the time he gets off-topic, or he explains how to use something once and expects us to understand right away. I found that my groupmates and I had to figure it out on our own a lot
Dr. Chang knows a lot about making films, as he will make sure you know by showing you his own films in class. He is skilled in his craft, but he seems to not have much desire to help or teach the students in his classes beyond quick tutorials at the beginning of each project. Unfortunately, not everyone who is good at something should teach it.
(COMM 425): Was not difficult at all to pass, it was a quiz every week, 1 article review, and a final project. The final project did not make sense but we thrive. It was basically 10 D2L discussion posts and a presentation. Overall not a hard course if you are looking for a Perspectives course. It is about 3 hours and he makes sure to use all 3.
Dodge this professor while you still can. He's passionate, but he never truly teaches. Never updates D2L. Does nothing but RAMBLE. Anytime someone had a question he would start rambling about something unrelated. It takes him an hour to get though a five-minute video because he rewinds and goes over the same two seconds of footage over and over.
Dr. Chang is disorganized and tangential. Once spent 50 minutes discussing his last name. Shows his films in the speech class and boasts his performance on them. He's stated he hates teaching this class and its apparent. Class isn't difficult if you do your work and prepare for your speech, but it's an aggravating class to sit in.
This class was easy. Got to choose speech topics which was nice. Changfu Chang was pretty funny and cares a lot about his students. He did tend to babble on all class though so sit in the back and just toon in when it's important. He shows his own films to boost his ego. His grading was a strict and he did tend to not have consistent instructions.
This class is mandatory and counts toward general education requirements. It's better to take it sooner rather than later. Professor Chang rambles a lot, so be sure to read the assignment guidelines CAREFULLY. Other than that, the class is manageable, just submit work on time, always.
