Easy class

Very, very easy class. The class consists of watching videos with added comments by the professor, two papers (each worth 5 points), and a few assignments at the beginning of the semester. If you have a perfect attendance record, he gives you full credit on the final.

Channing was hot!!! It was an easy class, however somewhat boring, since all we did was watch videos.

Booth is easy. Just make sure you actually watch the videos and take notes. If you have perfect attendance, you don't have to take the final. It's pretty cool how he teaches the class how to salsa.

Easy but boring class. it's an easy A if you put just a lil effort in it. there are a lot of videos to watch though but what do u expect? its a world music class. he cant fly every student around the world so he shows videos instead. offers extra credit. he does seem a lil cocky though.

this class is very easy.just make sure to watch movies and take notes. no final if you have a perfect attendence.

This class is cake. All you need to do is show up every day and you automatically score a 100% on the final. There are about 3 papers to turn in which he is very lenient to grade, and 1 test the whole semeseter.

I think it's great that he get's so excited when he explains the information... the man obviously has a passion for the subject. The videos are interesting if you have an open mind and I thought it was nice how he paused often to elaborate on the stuff we were watching. Take the class... you might just enjoy it and learn something!

Excellent professor and very passionate about music. Very laid back. Only two assignments, a very tricky exam, and a essay final. You watch videos every day, but they are very boring. You don't have to take final if you were never late or absent. Very strict about the rule though, no exceptions! He will change the way you view music for the better.

Channings classes are cake. Show up, do the work, and you're set. He's more than willing to give extra help if you need it, and his style of instruction is not only laid back and relaxed, but it keeps the class fun and interesting. His passion and knowledge of the subject matter really shine through and add a lot to the class. My only regret is that there is so much to cover, that certain styles of the music are not gone into with enough depth.

Awesome class! Took it over summer and really enjoyed him. He's very knowledgable in the field and loves music so it can come alive for you. He does show alot of videos which can be boring at times but overall one of the best classes and instructors at Miramar!

World Music. Easy class. Watch videos everyday. Take notes when he writes on board or on stuff you think you might forget later. Teacher really wants students to learn about music. It's not a stupid music class. He really gets you "out of the box" as he says. DO NOT MISS CLASS! Just don't. You'll see why. Easy class.

Channing Booth is an awesome professor. He goes into detail in every lecture. He hands out packets for lectures every day & you turn in homework the next class. World Music. Great teacher. Is very thorough and brings in many different example about the world in relation to music. It's true, you should NOT miss class. You'll understand why when you take the class. Easy class. Just show up and try to enjoy it.

Interesting class and he's a very passionate teacher. He didnt just teach music, but also values and morals in each culture. This class will get you "out of your box" if you knwo what i mean. Easy class, *hint: go to class, dont miss any*.

This is an oral tradititon course, so you gotta listen. Extremely fun to go, you learn something new every class (although a lot of times it wasn't really about music). Consisted of watching videos and not falling asleep.

Took him for MUSIC 109, 201 & 202. Make sure you do your text homework at least once a week because those are due at the end of semester. DON'T CRAM! & on the project (which there is only ONE in 201), do not procrastinate. Hear's every little thing wrong in a mix. Easy A because he teaches very well. If you are familiar with Cubase SX3, easy.

No book required...No tests/quizes...No homework...What more can you ask for. You watch documentaries the whole time, or listen to him lecture about meaningful topics.He goes way beyone just music. Yes it gets kind of boring, but he is definitely nice to look at, he is so sexy! ;)

This guy is an awesome teacher. Very passionate about his work. He is also a great musician. The best part is, if you need help in this course he has an open-lab where a former student/audio engineer named Charles will basically re-give the lecture to you one on one. If you are are serious about making a REAL career in music, TAKE THIS GUY!

Great teacher, knows his subject well and can talk about it for hours without going off on tangents. No textbook is required. Showed vidoes throughout the semester so the workload wasn't too heavy, but I still learned alot. We had one group presentation that was sort of lighthearted. Attending music performances was extra credit.

This class is quite fun and you learn a lot not only about the music but also the political & social issues that revolve around the specific culture. He is kind of a Liberal so i dont suggest this class for the conservative twits. No text book required, just lots of videos but do take notes because you can use them on the exit exam!

This is a good teacher. Textbook is not required. The more you pay attention to the videos, the better grades you get.Also, he gives you a lot of chances to get extra credits.

What i like about him is that he teaches u about the way u look at things such as cultures, relegion, etc... that u should understand every culture do things differntly so taht does not make ur culture better than others.. just being human and do not let ur religon or coulture make a diffrenace between humans ,, and i found that very beautiful..

TAKE THE COURSE! Not only is the class laid back, but infinitely helpful. The course material goes so much farther than just music. Certainly changed the way I view things. You'll gain a better understanding of world cultures and hear some awesome music. Everyone should take this class at least once. Perfect attendance boosts you a letter grade!

Great teacher! Take his class Your won't regret it. Doesn't require a book, basically gives you all the questions and answers for the midterm and if u get an A then you don't have to do the research report. Takes points off if you don't show up to class so be careful because it can affect your grade.

Really easy class with few assignments and a super easy midterm. No textbooks required. The class was boring for me personally because we watched documentaries all day and I don't like watching videos. But if that's your thing go for it.

Easiest A of my life! No textbook. Gives you the answers to the test as a review. And if you get an A on the test you don't have to do the research paper. Just don't fall asleep in class! Lots of videos which can be dangerous. He really puts in another perspective of the world though. Definitely made me think about things differently.

Professor booth is awesome! Such a wise guy, I learned a lot that will stay with me. Easy A. Gives you midterm and final the first day of class and goes over it so you know exactly what to study and what the answers are when its time to take. Class is super fun. 3 concert reports 1 museum report, other than that you don't have to worry about HW. 3

Took it over a summer. Sometimes he lectured, but majority of class was watching videos. He's very passionate about music and easy to approach. He did a lesson on dancing salsa and it was really fun. Your only problem is finding 3 concerts to attend. He offers extra credit which is finding a new concert venue, or place with musical performances.

Professional Piano player. A real down to earth dude, who just loves music. Very chill lecture atmosphere. Tests are pretty easy. The hardest thing about this class, is going to concerts and writing about them. Which ultimately isn't hard at all. TAKE HIM ! no book, no code, no nothing. Just bring your ears.

So this teacher will tell you that he likes all music, but that's not true. He is very biased. Useless work. Only one dumb jam session. Spends first 2 months on instruction stuff. Spends 5 classes on music he loves. Very boring class. You watch boring long videos. He is nice but still a very boring class. He thinks he knows everything.

Just do the assignments and you'll pass. He's been teaching for a while and he knows what he's teaching. Assignments are minimal and its a guarantee B if you show up and do the work which is barley any. I took his night class which is 3 hrs and I enjoyed listening to him rather than his videos and so I would take again he's really interesting.

He is very passionate about this subject and cares for the students. By the end of this class u will be very inspired and have a different outlook on music. He relates the lecture to everyday life and current issues. Take him if u want to actually learn something valuable but at the same time be a chill class.

Take this class whether you need it for General or major. Booth is amazing, he cares about his students and keeps the classes interesting. Ace the midterm and you don't have to do the research project. NO BOOK!!! Attendance is a must. Show up every week, take care of your homework and study lecture notes and you'll ace the class.

Prof. Booth is so smart and inspirational! He finds a way to relate topics to history, social media, politics, entertainment industry and just society in general. You will feel so smart and woke! It's an easy A. His lectures are fun and engaging! Definetly recommend him. He takes you out of the dark and introduces you to new perspectives.

Prof Booth is amazing. He is an amazing musician, super knowledge, and great teacher. This class consists grade wise of 1-2 papers, class note quizzes, a midterm and final. The only homework is to attend 3 concerts during the semester. As long as you show up and take notes you will do fine. The class consists of him lecturing and watching videos.

Incredible Prof, and super passionate! He offers the class honors that's not much more difficult than the actual class. Attendance is required for points, he gives you the midterm q's and a's before the test, and the final in advance.

the bomb!!!! Professor Booth is the best. He is so educated and knowledgeable that even if you have zero interest in music take this class!!!! This is way more than just a music class, its a life lesson class with tons of information.

Enter class>Lecture begins>Take notes> Leave. The information is basic but you will learn some facts about other cultures. Some days he will put up a National Geographic video for the class to watch for the entire duration. It is boring & the professor is generously given 4/5 stars. You will need to spend roughly $20 to visit museums and concerts.

I took him for 109 and 100. Great professor ever! The only thing that needs you to study for is the midterm, other than that if you have less than 3 absences the entry/exit exam can be done from home and hand it in as homework. And show effort in notes and one research paper, which is super easy! I would definitely take him again if I could:)

Honestly a great class and a great professor. There's no reading and no homework (besides the entry/final exam). All you have to do is show up, take good notes and turn them in. I learned a lot in this course and the documentaries were very interesting. If you want an easy A , take this class. Only thing you do have to study for is the midterm.

He is a fantastic professor, took his online music course and it was super easy just spend some time watching his lecture which is at most an hour a handful of times and answer the quiz questions after. He is a awesome chill guy and his class was insanely easy to get an A if you just keep up with the lectures/ videos he provides. 10/10!

VERY easy class to pass. Watch the lectures & you're guaranteed to get an A+. Don't miss the meetings he requests you to schedule (takes about 5mins just to check up on you). I took the 8 week course. He talks a lot and has a habit of rambling so watch the lectures on 2x speed.

Amazing professor. He is super passionate about what he is teaching which sometimes causes him to ramble on in his lectures, so I would recommend watching the videos at 1.5x speed. He is very good about emailing and always corrects any mistakes he makes in a very timely fashion. Very understanding guy and a great teacher.

Lectures are long but watching them at a faster speed helps. Quizzes are straightforward/based on lectures. Offers extra credit & does Zoom check-ins that last about 5 mins each

Coming into this course I knew nothing about music. I took this class for a GE requirement and I honestly enjoyed the entire class. He doesn't penalize ANY late work, is an easy grader, is VERY kind, and overall is an amazing professor. Take him! He is so sweet and caring, I can't stress it enough. I also genuinely learned a lot as well! Easy A.

When taking MUSI100 He was a very fun professor. He shows a lot of videos which you then have to take a quiz on. You can tell he is very passionate about his work.There is around 3 quizzes each week but are very easy to follow. Would take this class again.

Easy video lectures, not to many assignments, caring professor teaching what he is truly passionate about, and that is music. Overall, the class was easy, just watch the videos, doing the one assignment for each module, and discussion, and the 5 question quiz, and that's it.

Cares about his students and very passionate about what he teaches. Attendance is mandatory but the tradeoff is that there is no homework which in nice. The midterm and final were easy, good GE to take. Easy A.

Learned some interesting things, found their grading fair, found workload to be do-able. For grading, many assignments were not graded until after Canvas was locked for students. Caused some anxiety because I didn't know what my grade would be. Just something to be aware of. Overall, would recommend this professor to any, even my King Lebron James!

Professor Booth makes this GE really engaging. Lectures are easy to follow and quizzes are straightforward. Unstuckstudy was super helpful for reviewing key concepts before exams. Overall, a manageable workload and an easy A.

I did the 8 week version of this course and the class is very interactive and easy to complete. Allows you to complete it at your own pace, but also gives you an outline of recommended completion dates. There is an end of class project, but as long as you are prepared it is very easy to complete.

No weekly homework, but there is a simple research presentation due at the end of the semester (it's assigned at the start). Booth is a G. He makes it very clear that the midterm is mandatory, but if you miss less than 2 classes, the final is not needed for you. I didn't take the final and got an A. I took honors, and the final research project is so easy. I did a slideshow on my favorite artist and got full credit. Great prof
