She was a very nice lady and did teach well. All her notes are on power point and the notes are also online. She does four tests and two papers. It's pretty easy. Only problem I had was she had a problem controlling her class at times. She would some what ignored it and you couldn't hear her over people cause she didn't tell them to shut up.

Great teacher! Her tests are east if you follow the prep sheets. The lectures are great. I could skip classes and still pass tests, but I didn't want to. The thing I liked the most were the discussions in class. She's very open minded and your 2 cents always matter, no matter what they are. VERY interesting class. I highly recommend her!

Prof. Doyle is an excellent professor, she knew what she was teaching,as she used to be a social worker (I had her for soc of the marriage&family) Although her tests are slightly difficult she's so supportive, answers all your questions, and really cares about her students. I absolutely recommend taking any class she teaches! you won't regret it!!!

Very nice professor, easy class, She gives reviews for all her test, so you know what to study. It's a easy A, if you show up for class and stay for her reviews.

She is amazing! Very helpful. Attendance is mandatory, which stinks, but you really benefit from going and you get 2 free passes. She is very nice and gives you a review sheet for exams. And she drops your lowest.

One of the nicest teachers at GCC, but doesn't let you take advantage of that. She wants you to show up for class, and usually lets you out early anyway. She gives you review sheets for her exams and as long as you study them you will get an A in the class.

Loved the class and the professor! You must show up and you must do the work but she is clear and precise and very helpful. She loves what she teaches and that makes it wonderfully interesting for the student. I highly recommend this professor.

I love this woman! I took her for SOC 101 and passed with flying colors. Class is fun and informative. There are two major writing assignments (I got a 96 and and 98). Tests are not too difficult. I am taking her for 102 when the next semester starts. I Highly recommend her!

VERY easy class. as long as you read the chapters there is no reason why you would do poorly. shes also very understanding. GO TO THE BONUS CLASS. she puts questions on the next test pertaining to it!

her class is actually interesting. just go. the book is interesting too and her tests are based on the book. so read and youll get at the very least a B on the tests.

Took all classes because she is amazing!!!

By far the best professor I have had. The class was exactly easy but she gives out all the slides she shows and barley gave any homework. Maybe once or twice. She's really nice and easy to get along with. She will drop your lowest test and quiz. So if you score high enough, like me, you can basically skip the last week and a half of classes.

I took her class during the summer as a three week course and it was pretty intense, but very enjoyable. It's almost impossible to do well without reading the textbook because that's what all the exams are based off of. She tells you the essays in advance, but the class discussions are super fun! highly recommended!

She is one of the nicest professors I have ever taken at GCC. Professor Doyle drops your lowest test grade and gives exam review guides for every test. I'll be taking her again for SOC102 in the spring, even though I had no prior interest in Sociology.

Professor Doyle was a very nice lady. I really liked her and felt that she cared about her students.On the other hand, there is a lot of work but it is not too overwhelming but the test are quite difficult but if you take lots of notes you should be fine.

Prof. Doyle was an extremely warm person but the research assignments were a little insane and her grading makes no sense. Don't take Sociology at all unless you must or you really like politically correct moral relativism. Prof. Doyle does a good job of getting everyone involved, but at the same time people are scared to say something "intolerant"

The material isn't that difficult.. but this teacher seriously gives WAY too much work for an online class. Every week was a research assignment, case study, exam (timed), and about 4 DQs. She expected us to do at least 10 paragraphs for almost every assignment.

I LOVED her! She was such a Nice lady, however the amount of work she gave was a joke! I feel like I learned a lot so if you want to learn and you are not afraid of homework then shes a really good teacher

One thing that often annoyed me about her class was her sentence structure and wording was often somewhat impossible to understand. I would have to reread her questions sometimes 3 or 4 times before I could understand what she was asking for. HOWEVER, she is an INCREDIBLE teacher and very sweet. She made the class really enjoyable and informative.

Professor Doyle was a great teacher. Quick with response to e-mail. I did however feel that her grading was more of an English professor than Sociology .

She's a good well spoken clear professor, she's not THAT hard like some people say. I got a B+ in the class and honestly I was lazy and procrastinated a lot. Yes some of her online assignments are long but you'll live, like I said I got a B+ in the class and didn't spend a whole lot of time doing stuff, just don't procrastinate.

I took soc of the family in a 5 week whirl wind of a course. I learned a lot of good information. Prof Doyle grades like an english professor. So if you take her online be sure you are perfectly grammatical.

She gave very clear instructions. Lots and lots of work, but if you pace yourself it is super easy. As long as you know what you have to do you will pass. Definitely easy and clear to understand and she was super nice whenever you has a question or concern.

The GREATEST teacher EVER! She is so nice and love conversation. Tests are hard but if you fail them it is okay cause if you do great on the online assessment you will pass the class. Would take her again. She is very bubbly and great to have first thing in the morning. Always walks in with a smile and will make your day.

I took soc104 online - it was a great class :) As others have said (and complained about) there is work - but it's a college class! Spread the work out through the week, don't wait till the night it's due, and you'll be fine. The class was very interesting and I definitely learned a lot. Would definitely take again.

Such a nice and great professor! She was so nice and resounded to emails quickly. I took the 5 week summer course and the work load wasn't even that bad. Clear with due dates, directions and assignments. Would def take her again! She's helpful if you need it if you email her with questions. Must take if you have to take Sociology. So worth it!

I took sociology online with her. It was a pretty good class and she made herself pretty accessible I if you had any questions. The discussion questions kind of stunk because there was never any real discussion taking place. Just students making generic comments because it was required. There was plenty of time to get assignments done each week.

The inner grammar buff in me cringes. She doesn't proof read anything. There's tons of typos and misspellings in her work. Other than that, she's great! Do the work and you'll pass.

Professor Doyle was one of my favorite professors to date. She is very kind, caring, and funny. Participation and attendance are mandatory but she makes class fun and enjoyable. I'm excited to take another one of her courses in the future. The assignments were mostly online and took time but weren't too difficult.

Not a lot of homework, but pretty in depth "Research assignments" that range from articles to short video clips that she asks for your opinions on. Pretty laid back, lots of extra credit, and quick with responding to emails.

I recently finished an online course for sociology with this professor. There was a lot of work every week but the work was fairly easy. Professor Doyle was a very easy grader and her instructions for very clear for every assignment. I did not struggle with this class at all.

Professor Doyle is one of the best! She truly cares about each of her students and wants them to succeed. I left the class feeling like I had learned a lot and had been challenged without feeling overwhelmed. She is so funny and includes personal stories that relate to the lectures well. I definitely recommend her!!

She has a good amount of work due every week but every now and then she gives you a break. It took me about 2 hours a week to do the work for this class but it all depends on how quick of writer you are. She is an easy grader and the class is overall easy. Almost impossible to fail.

Don't take this class if you don't want to complete 40 hours of social work volunteer, just a warning. But she's an amazing and caring professor and you can tell that she loves what she is doing. I took the hybrid class and the work was online but it was easy and the lectures were fun to sit through and listen to everyone participating.

This is my third Time taking this professor and from Sociology 101 to Social Process and Sociology to Family and if I took her 3x and Got an A in all classes trust she is great

Professor Doyle is extremely nice and understanding and her lectures are clear and simple. She gives a lot of online assignments that take some time to do, but fairly easy to complete. Her exams aren't extremely hard but you must study, study, study! She also gives you web enhanced days (you don't have to show up to class) which is a plus!

Professor Doyle really is a nice and genuine professor! Very caring and loves to discuss in class. You will most definitely need the book for this class and to read each chapter for she takes half of the questions for the exams from the book. She tests heavy and gives lots of research assignments!

I took this class over the accelerated 5 week winter semester. The only thing I didn't like is there wasn't an online version of the textbook available. Lots of discussion questions. Quizzes, critical thinking assignments which are like mini-papers, and a current event precis. All in all a pretty straightforward class.

Professor Doyle is great! I took 2 of her classes this semester, this one being Social Problems online! If you follow the syllabus and are aware of when everything is due, then it is an easy A!

This was a great class, I took the Hybrid one. But be expected to volunteer for 40 hours, and it is mandatory. She does give you the option that you don't have to volunteer, but then you will have 25% off your final grade! Other than that she is very caring and understanding! Be definitely pay attention to due dates!

She is an amazing professor. I loved taking her class and loved that she allowed students to have their own independence. She gave extra credit modules, which were useful to those who needed them. She was very good with making assignment instructions clear and due dates clear. I would definitely take her again.

This professor is an easy A as long as you do the work. She opened up all the modules again the last week of the semester so we could finish anything that we missed. She had one extra credit assignment. Exams are long but pretty easy. I never read the textbook.

Overall, she is really nice. She takes a really long time to answer emails, syllabus says give her 48 hours to reply to an email but it normally takes her over a week to reply. Other than that, very easy course.

The course is well organized and the material was easy to understand. The professor replies quickly (one to two days usually). The syllabus says to reach out to her early if you feel you will not be able to submit your assignments on time but she is very understanding and caring. Always available to help. Overall an easy A. Loved this course!

Assignments were difficult, you need to read & write a lot & you teach yourself the material to complete the assignments, but all the answers are in the assigned textbook & she's always there to offer extra help. Her responses are a bit slow but she's very helpful! She's very sweet, understanding, & organized, you won't regret taking her!!

Professor Doyle was both kind and knowledgeable throughout the course. Although there were a good amount of assignments, if you did not do great on one, there were others that could bring your grade up. I was interested in the topics we covered which made this class fly by.

Fam SOC Let's you drop your lowest test grade. Gives you all the materials to prepare the day before tests and clearly goes over them during lectures. The book was also very simple and easy to read. I have never read the book for any other class but this one. Research assignments are also a big grade, but they took me no more than an hour or two.

Honestly a great professor. She's pretty predictable with weekly assignments and her big projects are actually really fun to complete. Deadlines are easy to meet and she responds to emails promptly. If you mess up a submission, she's very understanding and allows a resubmit. I loved taking her class as it's very thought provoking and enjoyable!

I liked this course because it was asynchronous and I could complete the work whenever. You have to get the textbook which is annoying, but it was easy to read through. The work was managable. The only "difficult" thing about the class was the Social Problems Anaylsis Worksheet because it was just time consuming. Easy class and enjoyable.

I absolutely love Professor Doyle! She was so kind and relaxed when it came to late work. She never closed the modules, and class ended 2 weeks early. Very kind woman who just wants us to succeed. Only 2 big assignments, including a film study. Film was very interesting. 1 discussion post per week, + questions from the textbook. 10/10 professor!
