Summer course...had lots of people attend and lots of people stay. Recently got her Ph.D and is awesome at explaining concepts. Not too hard if you try and attend class. The summer course was greuling with 3 hour days and lots of notes...but you'll sur

She really explains the course well but her tests are really difficult. Try to take an easier teacher if you want to pass. If you really want to understand the course then take her.

She's a good teacher, easy to follow. She also explains concepts very well... but she let's it go to her head. She also likes to talk down to students as well. If you want to learn a lot about psych, take her, but be warned: SHE'S SARCASTIC!

She is one of my favorite teachers at Mt. Sac. I've taken her twice, going on my third time and I've never been disappointed. You will learn so much from her and she makes class fun. Her tests are not very difficult---she lets you use an index card!!

Charis was an excellent professor. I took Psych 1A and Psych 19 with her(impressed with both classes). She knows her stuff, and explains things very clearly, using lots of practical examples. Fun activities in class to help you learn. Highly recommend

Excellent teacher. Provides real life examples to help you understand concepts better. Tests are scantron with one or two essay questions. Tests are not too bad because she explains the concepts extremely well.

This is a professional teacher. I can tell she has studied teaching techniques has a good mixture of jokes, verbal tones, videos, board, book, projects, and overhead. She will carve you out of wood, and you will like it.

She teaches and acts professionally. She definetly knows her stuff and will help anyone that needs help. Shes very clear on what she wants and has a sense of humor. I enjoyed being in her class. I think she's good looking too.

VERY HOT. very intelegent. fairly easy to get an A in her class. u should just study the notes and the study guid, especially study guid. PAY ATTENTION TO HER LECTURE A LOT OF QUESTIONS in her tests come out of her mouth during the lecture.

Dr. Louie is definitely an awesome professor to learn from. She knows her stuff and is very helpful. She is very easy and fun to talk to. Her exams are fair (it's all based on her lectures and the textbook). Take her and you'll learn a lot from her!

Very interesting, fun, and interactive. She also makes herself available on the side for counseling. The tests are both lecture and book based, you do need to read the chapters and attend class to get A in class. Although challenging at times, this class is recommended if you want to learn.

I took women's psych with Charis. Her lectures are clear and she follows the book to a T. She's not incredibly hard but you have to read to pass the class and study. She's hot too! I loved the class, very interesting.

she is the best teacher i ever had. she is a feminist and is really really confident. may seem kinda stuck up the first time u talk to her but after talking to her more u can see that she is very entusiastic about teaching. her test are hard but listen to her lecture all her ans. is in the lecture.

Her class is easy. Her tests are easy. Her homework is easy. The portfolio was annoying, but it was easy. Go to tests prepared (at least knowing what the hell is going on) and its an easy A. She gives pop quizzes (only affects your participation grade) which is also annoying.

she is hot and atractive but it easy to make you not pay any attention because she is attractive. but everything is great and the subject very interesting.

i wish i take her class again cuz i missed her is just kinda hard and she do not write anything on board. becarefull she is very hot.

It is good to take one of her class if you get a chance to. Really helpful and made to overall experience kinda fun...psychology is applicable to the ordinary life. fun fun

Great Professor!! Her teaching style is very clear and straightforward. In addition, she teaches really well. If you take her class, you will easily understand the materials. Although her exams are hard, it is not that bad. She is always helpful, and she offers extra credits. If you do your work, you will get an A for sure.

She is great. Her exams are hard but I didn't pay careful attention during class. Quizzes, extra credit, and papers will boost your grade a LOT. Willing to help you as long as you abide by honor code (don't cheat). Not a hard class in my opinion. Take her =)

Easy going class. Not difficult to reach A if u keep up the assignments and quizzz weekly. Not a hard grader. Exams were moderate difficulty, and with the use of a 4X6 note card, getting a B was easy. Keep up the work will give you the A. Class average was 88%. Recommend.

Haven't finished the class yet, 3rd week, but things are looking very good. Her quizzes are open-book, online quizzes that can be taken up to 4 times! Out of the 4, she takes the highest score. Only a moderate amount of homework. She teaches very well and is extremely nice. And yes, she is probably in her 30s but I still think she is attractive.

She is a really cool teacher. All you got to do to pass the class is to do good on all the assignments,quizzes and exams.

Her class is easy to get an A in. I got a B, but didn't study for 2 tests nor the final, nor did I do any of the extra credit. She's very approachable and enjoys feedback on her teaching. Aside from the fact that the class met once a week, I really enjoyed it. Whether you like psych or not, it fulfills a requirement and she makes it enjoyable.

Hands down, the best professor I've encountered at any college so far. Extremely helpful. Im not going to lie, the class is ****ing hard. But Ive learned so much from this class that despite the challenge it helped me a lot. I HIGHLY recommend her if you are looking to bring out the best in you (or the worse if you slack). She is really chill too.

Lot's of work to do, but really worth it! You will learn SO much in this class and she's really helpful! Extra Credit opportunities AND late work accepted! Now THAT is awesome!

Thought at first she would be a boring prof, ended up meeting a cool one. I'd really miss this prof! She's my favorite! Thought having a male prof would make the class inspiring, but having a "like-a-sister" prof is cool. Have her as your prof!

Online class. Make sure to follow syllabus and post work/do tests ON TIME! There is a 24 hour period given to do the timed quiz in. You must do a lot of reading and be good with your time management in order to succeed in this class. She also responds quickly to email questions you may have. Willing to meet during office hours if you need help.

I had her for Psychology Of Women. It was an interesting class, you will learn a lot. Her tests are difficult, but if you do the reading and take good notes you will be fine. To those who get a bad grade in her class, you need to step up and be a better student. She's an amazing teacher, one of my favorite.

Tough professor. Lectures are kind of boring at times. You read an entire chapter EVERY week and answers questions. she gives out plenty of homework. her tests are bit tricky.

She is a good teacher. Unlike what the person a few spaces down said, she worked with me in a crisis. My grandpa died, and she allowed me to turn in the work a day late. If you do all the reading and ace all the quizzes and homework, you will earn an A as I did. I got a B on the midterm and a 79% on the final and still got an A.

Taking her accelerated online course and, even though I've never taken an online class before, I can honestly say that I wish all classes were like this. I've passed all her study quizzes with a 90% or higher and her midterm with a 92% and I can honestly say I've read only 3 pages of the book.

Took her online class for summer '11. I easily got an A, so this class is not hard whatsoever. All her study questions are MC, the midterm is 100 MC and a handful of short answers and the final is 100 MC. Lots of extra credit opportunities as well. Just turn in your work on time and you should receive your A.

I took her honor psychology classes this semester, one presentation,three mini research papers, three exams(hard), one online project which is called behavior modification. Kind of interesting. You should dedicate for this class in order to get an A. Not recommend for international students. Don't try this class if you are not a "honor student"

Liked her class, hated her tests. She tends to be really absent-minded about grades, so make sure to keep track of your grades and check her grade sheets to see if she entered them correctly, or if she entered them at all

Decent professor, pure lectures off powerpoint provided online, weekly study questions which end up being test questions, unlimited trys on them. Tests are just study questions and a few short answer, as long as you know the material its pretty simple. 3 research projects are pretty easy. Overall, do the work and readings and youre golden.

I loved this professor! She seemed like she would be boring but was actually really chill. I took psych for effective living with her and ended up enjoying it a lot. She is the kind of professor to have kids share their ideas which seems intimidating but she makes the atmosphere comfortable. All you gotta do is show up and read and you'll be good.

Course is as advertised. Tests designed to be open-book; 3 chances to retake. Extensive use of the book. Instructor is helpful, fair grader. Replies to any concerns and questions raised in a timely manner. Clearly-organized syllabus.

Great course! I took her online class for an 8 week period. A lot of work since everything was crammed into the 8 weeks but all was worth it. You can take the tests 3 times and receive the highest score. She also assigns extra credit if you need it. If you work hard, read the text, and complete the assignments, you will pass! I worked hard for my A

She'll know your name after the second day. She's very interested and passionate. Very helpful, clear, listens. You'll have to do readings before class b/c theres a quiz everyday. She does exploration exercises that are fun&easy. Easy, educational class! Attend every class, take notes, and participate! HIGHLY RECOMMEND

She is very clear when she teaches, but she does assign a lot of reading. If you can't keep up with reading chapters every week then don't take her. Other than that she is a great professor who is always willing to help!

One of the best teachers at Mt. Sac. At the end of the semester, only about 4 people had dropped. That says something. Not only is this class easy IF you participate, but she really makes her students feel comfortable to open up with each other. If you don't like to talk, don't take this class. She allows you to use a indexcard for notes for tests

a test everyday yes it is open book but the test is so hard that she worded things so tricky that you fil fail. too much reading too

Professor Louie is a really sweet teacher, but she assigns a lot of work. I definitely worked hard for my A. The best thing is that you can bring a notecard to a test (even finals). She also explains the material quite clearly, but be ready to read and work hard if you take her.

Since this was an online class you have to be on top of your work. The class is pretty straight forward. There are projects but they're easy if you follow the directions. Assignments are due every Friday so you have plenty of time to complete them. Just make your best effort, participate in the discussion board, and you'll be fine.

I wouldn't suggest taking this if you are a procrastinator like myself. Especially because all the work is due friday and trust me it will be on you mind all week up until friday night. Also you need to participate in the discussion, so post throughout the week and you'll be fine. Other than that the tests can be taken as many times as you need.

If you're a sociology major or psych major take her. She's very passionate. Theres a quiz everyday however it's open book and really easy. She gives tons of extra credit and you work in groups a lotdiscussions. I really enjoyed it

Professor Louie's class was like most college courses. If you do the work and make an effort you'll get an easy A. I took her for winter session and the reading takes up most of the time(chapters are 30-40 pages long) and 2 chapters per week. It is doable though. She is clear about what she expects from you and very nice.

Professor Louie is an amazing professor. She's really funny and her lectures are very interesting. I think she assigns a decent amount of work. They're all very doable, and she gives you an adequate amount of time to get them done. There were only 3 exams, and she allows one card of notes. Highly recommend!

Professor Louie was awesome! I took her online class. I got an A in her class. Yes theres a lot of reading but if you read and do your assignments its pretty simple to do well in the class. Her Quizzes are on a program you have to buy access to but you can keep answering questions until you get 100% on the quizzes.

Professor Louie is so sweet! This online course consisted of discussions, quizzes, a variety of extra credit, free-response assignments, which are usually watching videos, answering questions and your reactions, and a report, which was the biggest assignment. Although it was an online course, I was able to see that she cares. I recommend Dr. Louie!

I took this class in a winter 6 week course. There was a lot to get done but that is expected in a 6 week course, she does have you watch several videos and some can be an hour or longer I recommend taking notes of the people's names because she will quiz you or ask you about a people in the videos. Other than the long videos it was a great class!

Took during winter so a lot of work in short amount of time but that was a given. Although long, all the videos were enjoyable. Make sure to pay attention to the videos because there will be multiple assignments regarding the same video. Quizzes were hard but she gives 3 tries each. Gives out a lot of E.C. Don't need to buy book but it would help

She's really nice, but she gave us a lot of homework. We'd be assigned two chapters to read a week and each chapter would be super long sometimes. There'd be quizzes and discussions for every chapter as well as video assignments. The videos would be at least an hour long so I wouldn't procrastinate too much for this class.

Professor Louie was an awesome teacher! I really enjoyed taking her class even though there was a lot of homework. I particularly loved it because I love Psychology. Just be prepared with your readings, and concentrate on the concepts you have to learn. She gives a lot of extra credit too, so if you are struggling make sure you do them!

Intro to Social Psych. This was an asynchronous class I took in Fall 2020. I greatly appreciated Louise's detailed feedback. If I did bad on an assignment, she told me exactly what I needed to fix each time. No exams, just 1, 25 question long multiple choice quiz each week. 13 quizzes in total. She offered so much EC, it was so easy to get an A.

Personally, you don't get professors like Charis often. She provides insightful feedback to help you get higher scores and makes the course relatable and fun. She sincerely cares and is someone you could lean on for academic and personal needs. Take her!

I took Prof. Charie right when covid hit. I was so stressed out w/ the transition of going to online learning and almost dropped the class, but I'm so glad I didn't. She was very understanding, and I thoroughly enjoyed her lectures and videos. I learned so much from them. It was an eye opening to me. I highly recommend her if you want to learn.

Great professor she cares about her students. I took a 16-week async course, lots of assignments, heavy on writing and sharing. Quizzes every week. Textbook only available in hardcopy and requires lot of reading for quizzes. Very easy to fall behind in this class, but she offers extra credit and accepts late assignments with deduction.

Well, Professor Louie keeps it real, she's clear on grades and HW assessments. Everything you need is in the book, so make sure to read it. She also gives amazing lectures and loves to interact with her students, instead of just receiving a lecture, you are part of the lecture. She will respond to emails and show genuine care. Prof Louie is great! 2 projects 2 exams. Weekly quizzes.its a bit of reading but with the chapter overviews the textbook all is good! Don't listen to the reviews saying her grading or feedback is not good because it is idk why they act like she doesn't give 35PTS EXTRA CREDIT. Her lectures are AMAZING. You're not just listening you're part of them

Professor Louie keeps it engaging - she loves student interaction and provides clear feedback. The textbook is essential, but unstuck study was a great supplement for quiz prep. Overall, an insightful class if you stay on top of the readings.

Shes a really great and caring teacher she takes her lectures seriously and will answer everyone's questions to the best of her ability and even provide so many examples i really loved that but their is just so much information the amount of studying you have to do is a bit draining especially if u didnt pay attention.
