so unclear and vague on every assignment given unprepared and boring do not take this teacher at the end of the semester only 8 students were left in the class

mrs freeman was horrible. i took her for two semesters each time she got worse. she was unprepared for every class meeting. she gave the class a syllabus and never went by it. so if you are bad at english dont take her!! take marcus or kovacs.

She never answers questions, she was a week late in getting our class started, her online course makes no sense at all. She is unprepared and comes off as having no idea what she is doing. I definitely would say DO NOT take her class, especially online

DON'T TAKE HER CLASS, unless frustration is your thing! She doesn't follow the syllabus, reply to e-mails, or post grades in a timely manner if at all. Her gradebook doesn't list all the assignments. She gives other assignments not on the syllabus. AAAAGGGGHHHHH!

The most unorganized teacher in the world! Never answers questions or grades your work. Also, loses your assignments! She's the worst professor I've ever had!

Bottomline, stay as far away from this teacher as possible!! I took her class and am still trying to fix grades and try to communicate with her. She is so unorganized and is a HORRIBLE communicator. Online portion is not kept up and was often missing items and key assignments. Overall... the most stressfull and frustrating class ive taken so far.

I would not recommend to take distance learning classes with this teacher. I am having a terrible experience with her right now - missing material online, due date are missing or wrong, grading either late or none at all. Does not respond to questions until the day of.

She is horrible, She doesnt teach/explain anything. She expects you to know it all off the top of your head. She assigns too many assignments and gives you a 0 if not completed how she likes. I read all of these comments thinking that it wouldn't be so bad.I submitted an essay that I worked very hard on and I got a zero. It was the same with my thesis statements. Her grading is either all or nothing, 0 or 100, pass or fail and ultimately sets up every student in her class for failure. If you have her on your schedule, switch classes.

I took her online course and wished I never did. She has no textbook but requires you to write a lot of essays. You are NOT ALLOWED to use online sources, even though she uses them herself. She'll give you a 0 if you forget to add planning pages, instead of giving you a lower grade. We "learned" about Huckleberry Finn and NOTHING ELSE! DO NOT TAKE!

This professor is the worst I have ever had in my life. She has the WORST communication in the world and she expects you to submit revised assignments meanwhile she has no even graded the original. She also expects you to type in the "OPEN FORUM" instead of email but she doesn't respond to either.WORST PROFESSOR EVER!

I would not recommend this class. Overall, the online content was extremely confusing and ill-prepared. Additionally, the semester ended 5/6/13 and I still have nine ungraded assignments dating back to 2/6/13. In fact, I STILL have not received a grade for the mid-term essay which was originally submitted 3/16/13. I would avoid this cluster!!

Does NOT grade assignments, which is necessary as the assignments require feedback. Additionally, she does NOT respond to much of anything. IF YOU VALUE YOUR GPA, DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR FOR ANY CLASS WHATSOEVER!!

Avoid this "professor" at all costs! She is terrible, unfair, and lazy! She will not help you like she claims she will. I am actually going to the dean to discuss my problems with her class. Seriously if you value your gpa avoid her!

She does NOT know how to properly utilize the Blackboard platform. She requires WAY too much work, almost as if she's giving a LOT of busy work instead of actual assignments. She is not clear with her requirements, and she is not very good with communication. Do NOT take any courses with her. Any other professor would likely do a better job.

Save yourself a headache and do not take this course. If you are looking for a teacher who will actually TEACH you, interact with you, give you any form of feedback on your writing, you will not find it with her. She constantly ignored emails, blamed blackboard being "down" (it worked for everyone else...) and was lazy. I learned nothing from her!

Absolutely awful. Her online course is a confused mess with postings from prior classes still and weekly summary videos that do not match the assignments actually due. She is not responsive and never follows through on promises that she makes. Grades take forever and she doesn't have information posted when needed for assignments. Avoid her.

Absolutely the worst class I have ever taken. Assignments and essays were not graded until the last 6 days of the course. Complete chaos with assignments, expectations and feedback. Professor is unorganized online and demeaning to talk to. Heed the warnings. She is extremely ill-prepared constantly and you WILL pay for it.

OMG that all I have to say about this teacher. My midterm essay was graded and return back to me on the Monday of my last week of class. I had final essay and revision and some other assignment due that last week and plus my other classes hw. I emailed her over 5 times about my grades and it took her a week to response back. ADVOID her!!!!

She is not clear on her instructions and stays behind on grading almost all semester long. We only did class activities a few times a semester; the rest of the time we argued about her grading policy and how she was not clear on what she expects. The first two essays only say a minimum of 500 words, she does not state that there is a max of 550.

I am amazed that this woman is still teaching. This is a classic example of a professor that takes on too much of a course load then they can handle. Expect to teach yourselves. She takes on average 3-6 weeks to grade an assignment. There are so many other helpful english professors. Avoid if you can.

Avoid this lady at all cost. She takes weeks to grade papers and doesn't tech in class for hr and 15 minutes you in there. All she talks about what due this week real brief and starts talking other stuff. If you want your hw graded on time take mrs. Galloway or another English teachers.

Impossible to get a hold of. Took English with her as an online summer class. Failed me on an essay that was 500 words in the syllabus. I did 510 and she said 520 was required. NOT IN THE SYLLABUS. Never returned my calls or emails about it. BORING and VERY outdated lectures. Constant technical issues on her end throughout the class. Please avoid.

I love writing but this teacher is AWFUL. So unclear and every time I ask a question she replies back with a quote. I don't know if she thinks that I'm a joke or something but writing is very important to me and I have not grown as a writer one single bit. Even if you love writing, DONT TAKE THIS CLASS

Awful. The assignments were not clear, often conflicting. She never answered questions. She gave poor feedback. She circled lots of things on my final exam essay and her only comment was "versus". I submitted every paper to the tutor service 2-3 times before turning in. I got an A, but dont know how, and feel unprepared in my current courses.

Slow grader, poor feedback, terrible communication, cryptic grader. This instructor isnt much of a teacher and I wish I had known about these reviews first. AVOID!

Definitely would not recommend her to anyone. Stay away. Theres a reason she has terrible ratings, she doesnt care about students success.

Everyone I have talked to has said the exact same thing, and I have personally experienced it. I would not wish it on my worst enemy. I have no idea how she is still teaching. RUN.

Who is writing these positive reviews? I always work hard for my grade. All P. Freeman is setting you up for is failure. Her online class was littered with errors and she didn't even have the decency to respond when students pointed them out. Learning should not be frustrating. I got zeros and was never even told why. How can I learn from that?

She is awful for the following reasons: She gives out busy work just for the heck of giving out work. Does NOT teach! At best she is a month behind on her grading. Her instructions are confusing. Never response to email. Google is a better teacher then her. If I could give her a lower grade then 1 I would. At best she is a (-2).

Not only does she NEVER grade any assignments on time, she doesnt even grade you on the work youve done, more so if youre done it. I have assignments from 2 months ago that are STILL not graded. If you miss a day, shell give you a very hard time about making anything up. Ex. I had a family member pass away, didnt let me make it up.

She's Horrible. I had a A the whole semester and Got an F the day the grades were do cause she waits to grade and completely gave me F for papers cause I forgot a cover sheet or something verrrryyyy small

She is unspecific in the instructions which does not help you complete the work; considering many assignments build off each other, especially the Mid term which usually is a good thin, the lack of clarity hurts. As well as her late response time. She takes a week to grade so you are constantly playing catchup. No examples. Terrible. Dropped class.

Avoid this professor at all cost. She puts zero effort into teaching; lectures are old and contradict each other. Makes it known late assignment will not be accepted, yet does not grade your assignments until the end of the semester or after. Test reference a textbook (patterns) word for word that has not been used in this class for years. Terrible

Horrible teacher. Directions are constantly unclear and it causes my grade to dip because of it. Doesn't grade assignments until three weeks after they have been submitted. Everyone else is just as confused as me too. Not even done with the class yet but she's literally that bad. Take ANYONE ELSE BUT HER!!!

This professor is unclear about assignments. You navigate all over the place to find work that needs to be done. 12 assignments per week. What she is clear of, is if you don't make one PERFECT essay with MLA citation, summary source, page planning, Essay outline with correct grammar and spelling she will fail you for the entire class. Super unfair

The WORST teacher I have EVER had at HCC. AVOID HER AT ALL COSTS. Disorganized, awful grading rubric, extremely rude, never responds to emails/discussions, takes WEEKS to grade assignments, gives out more work than she can grade, contradicts herself CONSTANTLY, horrible/vague feedback on short stories. Complained to the school and they did NOTHING.

You would think that since she has been teaching online classes for over a decade she would understand how they work, but no. She is horrible with technology, and the slowest talker I have to play her lectures in double speed just to make it sound normal.Worst grader Ive ever encountered. This was not a learning experience but more of a constant battle with the teacher over what was a reasonable grade for a slightly imperfect assignment. She would allow for revisions however if she had not graded your assignment in time, and you submitted a revision late you would get a zero. She is incompetent.

You will have revisions to do that are like 60 points but what are you going to revise when you haven't even gotten a grade for the assignment? I still have assignments from last month that haven't even gotten graded yet

I wish I knew about this site earlier. Doesn't respond to emails so good luck if you have questions (which you'll have), takes forever to grade, has too many assignments each week and many of those build off of previous ones that NEED TO BE GRADED FIRST. Instructions are so unclear and all over the place making it so much more difficult. Stay away

everything was "busy work" if you ask me. offers "extra credit" that counts against or doesn't even help. so just don't waste time attempting it. You don't have a chance to do proper revisions because she doesn't provide grades and feedback in a timely manner. PLEASE BELIEVE EVERY "awful" review on here. You will not receive the grade you deserve.

It's a wonder she teaches english and not MATH because this is the most incompetent teacher I've met when it comes to grading. If you want to do 16-30 assignments a week in one class then take her. I DO NOT RECOMMEND. "extra credit" is a waste of time, don't attempt it because it will hurt more than help. PERFECT every assignment the first time.

This lady doesn't appreciate the essay I wrote, and I know my essays are very understandable and did everything based on the rubric but no! she gave me a horrible grade! saying "corrections not made" WHAT DO YOU MEAN its NOT MADE,girl i know d*m well I did this essay a fantastic job cause all of my high school teachers really enjoy reading them all

Her diction was wonderful and clear; however, her instructions were not. She did a lot of talking but didn't really say much. Work for the upcoming wouldn't be released until the day before class and she would expect us to come to class the next day with a full understanding of what was going on.

DO NOT TAKE HER CLASS. This was by far the worst and hardest class I have ever taken. I have always been in honors writing courses but she grades as if we are to be graduate level writers. Her directions are extremely unclear and multiple assignments had multiple different directions and everyone was confused.

ZERO-ZERO-ZERO!! Assignments that aren't PERFECT are given an automatic ZERO! This is English Comp 2, not a graduate-level English course. Vague instructions & feedback with an incredibly stringent grading structure. I wouldn't wish this class on my worst enemy. Shameful how this teacher abuses her power by destroying GPA's with no consequences.

Horrible professor! Her module was a disorganized mess.She made multiple grading errors and when I asked her to review them she just insisted that there was no errors and she can grade on other things that aren't listed in Canvas. What?! She gave me a D even though my grade in Canvas was clearly a B. She doesn't care about students whatsoever.

assignments are entirely out of order on canvas, after being told this she still doesn't fix it. receive no feed back on assignments & short responses to emails that take days to get. I have late assignments because I need feedback on previous ones to do them. lectures are poorly written & are entirely different from the assignments based on them.

Very disappointing inconsistent teaching methods, blames students for her mistakes she also doesn't explain/know what she wants. Avoid this prof respectively. Sheryl Davis either, save yourself from taking her. BOYCOT THEM.

The most absolutely god awful class. The online course is a mess. Assignments in the syllabus are out of order, contain duplicates, some of it gets quietly fixed and some doesn't. Assignments take forever to get graded, which backs up your ability to complete other assignments based on them. Way more to complain about but word count constrains me

RUN. SHE CONTRADICTS EVERYTHING SHE SAYS. R-U-N! She grades very harshly and it takes up to 3 weeks for her to grade. don't even think about trying to contact her either she will respond 2 weeks later.

One of the WORST professors I've ever had. The canvas assignments are a complete mess and the homework that's given is always graded so harshly and/or graded on criteria that isn't even included in the syllabus. The criteria that she uses to grade and the way the assignments are set up make it almost impossible to get a decent grade in the class.

Minimum 6 assignments each week, her modules system on canvas is terrible; combines assignments from all her classes into one. Had an instance where she put an assignment in our weekly module to do, then gave us all zeros because she said that was not for our class, had I not messaged her all our grades wouldn't have changed. Do not recommend!!!

I made an account on here specifically to warn others not to take this class. She DOES NOT CARE ABOUT HER OWN CLASS. The longer you take the class, the more confusing it gets. She grades her papers as if we all had a Masters in English. Mind you, this is community college and her grading is WAY to strict for basic level classes. DO. NOT. TAKE!

I made an account to say this her class is genuinely the worst way I have ever seen a class organized in my life. The material we did assignments on was REALLY GOOD in my opinion and the assignments themselves were fine but the modules were a mess and there wasn't much communication, I would not recommend taking her.

Genuinely this is the worst professor I have ever seen. In a polite way she simply does not do her job. This lady has the worst canvas organization I have ever seen and there are assignments that you cant even complete. She says to go by the weekly modules and then there are assignments that are not even there. There is no communication. AVOID HER.

She lacks any and all organizational skills. The layout for this class is horrific. Assignments due several weeks ahead will show up as due early and everything is doubled. Expect to spend more time navigating than doing actual work. Her feedback is also very poor, will contradict and nitpick. She also gave everyone the same score on the final lol.

I would advise to stay away from Dr. Freeman's 1101 ENC course! She has not updated any of the learning materials and uses all her courses combined into one which makes directions and assignments difficult to understand. She did not grade my midterm essay until a week prior to the final essay to be due. I would give a 0 out of 10 for this course.
