teacher isn't half bad you pay attention you'll get what you need, there is a lot of extra credit she offers, and there's group work

She is a really fun professor. She uses movies and in the news information and group assignments were great (being a prosecutor, parole board hearing). Definately would take from her again.

Teacher was fun and well easy for me in regards to the exams. I have more problems with papers. Have to write 1 research paper. up till today she has given out 35-38 extra credits points in week 8. I had no interests prior to the class but now i feel like majoring in CJ psych or maybe going into law. taking her cj 110 in summer too.

She is nice, i mean rarely nice, not like some people who acts nice, she's naturally nice.

I took this class because I had dropped a class two weeks before fall quarter and this was one of the only classes I could find open. Glad I took this class! I'm thinking of majoring in Criminal Justice after this. Lot's of group discussion and debating, which I enjoy. She shows a lot of movies and gives out a TON of extra credit. She's great!!

I am taking her introduction to criminal justice class and i completely love it! i am thinking about majoring in criminal justice or law simply because of this class. I will be taking two of her classes next quarter! shes one of the best teachers

Amazing teacher! I've taken two classes with her now and shes honeslty the best!! She is very willing to help you understand the material. Come to class and participate and you will do great in her class. She gives study guides and is open to receveiving emails with any possible questions..if your considering taking any CJ classes pick her!

Best professor at Bellevue College. Extremely helpful. Very knowledgeable on the subject, has a lot of experience. She's extremely nice and down to earth. Make sure you bring your book to class and participate in class discusion otherwise she gets really mad. I definitely recommend people to take her classes.

She is a really good teacher. the class is nothing exciting but its really structured so you dont have to worry about not getting something. you go to class, take notes then get a study guide with all the terms you'll be tested on. then you take a test. she's nice and always clear. also i never used my book except to study though its a good idea.

My favorite teacher at BC by far! She is genuinly nice and extremely helpful. Show up to class and participate and you will probably get a nice grade. She gives a lot of extra credit opportunities and her tests are easy as long as you study from the stud guide and use the textbook and powerpoints she puts on the website! I've had her 3 times now!

Who else has heard, "in all reality", and "as far as with that" one million times? Haha. Prof. Freyburg is a very good instructor. Class can be a little challenging if you slack, but put in the work and you should be fine.

Good teacher! She is genuinely interested in her student's success. Lectures are concise and engaging. Just don't miss class or you're in trouble!

if you like crime and crazy stories about policing, take this class. You watch really interesting movies/docs. Don't bother buying a book though, she'll give you notes in class that are exactly like the book. Make sure to always show up, a majority of class stuff is in her tests. As long as you study notes, you'll ace every test (essay questions)

Freyberg is AWESOME. I highly reccommend her CJ101 class. She is very knowledgeable and has tons of personal experience incorporated into her teaching. Quizzes not too difficult if you know terminology from the textbook, and no outside homework assignments. Includes relevant, interesting and fun group activites (1 per unit). NO FINAL is a huge plus

Took her online criminology class. Loved learning about serial killers and the theories were interesting. She even e-mailed back to me on a holiday weekend! Will definately take her again. Fun and interesting...not like most college classes.

Criminal Law class was entertaining and informative. Very easy class IF you come every day. She gets irritated if you don't read the chapter ahead of time and gets blank looks when discucssions are supposed to happen. Tests are all multiple choice and very easy. Case briefs are not difficult just rememebr to do them. Very funny and awesome teacher.

Professor Freyberg is the best! She helps students a lot and gives chance to get some extra point. She explains everything very clearly. Her class is very interesting and she is the best professor!She helps with rough drafts and hands out study guides. Just take her class

Professor Freyberg is extremely knowledgable and helpful. She hands out a detailed study guide before all quizzes which makes them a breeze as long as you keep up with the reading. She also has many connections to people within the criminal justice field.

You definitely use the textbook for the entire class, but everything is really interesting in the book so it wont be a drag reading the chapters. She was very helpful and answered every questions, and the online course is very structured and easy to understand. I got a lot out of this class and i'm sure others will as well!

I loved this class! So interesting and I learned so much more about law enforcement (especially bad practices and corruption)and we had great debates in the class too. Would suggest you take her and enjoy the undercover "Mr. Yuck" scenario about being a DEA agent.

Class was pretty interesting. You get the grade you work for. Freyberg always wrote comments on your discussion, which is very helpful. Test are fair, as long as you read the book. If you have any questions, feel free to ask her. She's always prompt about answering and is very nice. Definitely taking another class with her again!

Prof. Freyberg is a great teacher. She is very organized and clear on her expectations in her online class. If you do the reading and study for the quizzes they are not difficult. She is very fair and will answer any questions you have quickly. I would highly recommend taking this class online if you need an elective.

I'm SOO glad I took this class. I learned SOO much about the discretion policer officers, defense attorneys,prosecutors, and judges hold. She puts so much energy into explaining and taking her time on a chapter. She has weekly online discussion, 2 test, and a 5-7pg paper. Do your readings, easy A. Extra credit are available.

Professor Freyberg is my favorite professor. She is the best! Her style of teaching is just awesome. I would not call this class easy A. You have to read the textbook, know cases, and study power points. You have to work hard. If you work hard, you will be ok. Take classes with Professor Freyberg! I was afraid of online classes.This class was so interesting.Professor's lectures are so helpful( her power-points are so informative because she puts all main points on them and explains terms better that the textbook). The textbook was also easy to read and interesting.It was a pleasure to take class with such a great and super smart Professor!

American Corrections System class is just cool and awesome. Professor Freyberg has a great background since she worked in corrections system. I love her sense of humor!! You will learn about all kinds of corrections, especially prisons and jails. Her assignments are so interesting and engaging. American Correction System rules!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Criminology is a very interesting topic. O took this class online and loved it.Professor immediately emails you back and ready to help. Read all chapters and look through powerpoints. To tell the truth, Professor Freyberg is the best professor I have ever had. Yes, you have to study hard, but it worth it!

This was an extremely easy class. There are two assignments every week and an average sized essay at the end. The three tests are very easy, as they are open notes (and open google). The topics are interesting and fun to learn about. Overall, I would highly recommend taking this class, but taking it in person would be more fun.

I loved taking Charlenes Corrections (CJ 106) Class! Grades on a curve, very helpful, Intune to her students ideas and needs, lectures were very clear and easy to understand and her tests were things you cover in class, she gives many extra credit opportunity's as well.

There are quizzes, discussions, assignments, & one ec assignment towards the end. I felt like for a CJ101 it was just a LOT of work, & she packed on a lot at one time. You pretty much need to be taking notes for the PP all week long, every week. I'll end with an A- or A I believe, but it is some work. She's very helpful though, and responds quick.

Such a great teacher! Very nice and passionate about her teaching. Only a couple quizzes and group projects-you get 100% if you're in class that day. Gives a study guide for every quiz, very helpful. Do the extra credit! Made my great go up 10%! Got over 100% in the class.

Interesting and relatively easy class. Straight forward and fun assignments.

Great teacher! Easy A for me you literally just study the study guides, but you gotta be there to pick one up! Not much is graded so just do well on the quizzes and show up for the group projects and you'll be fine. Overall she is great in her subject and if I enjoyed the subject i would definitely like it more!

Loved Mr. Yuck scenario at start of class. She is great at showing our CJ system for what it is, very flawed. LOVED THIS CLASS AND INSTRUCTOR.

Loved having a variety of assignments. We watched videos (that were amazing and really informational), had group discussions online, and tests were to the point with good PowerPoint and clear instructions for work. Would take again from here in a heartbeat.

Gives great feedback. You will need to work hard for your grade. Read chapters to do well on quizzes. Print out her slideshows for notes. Great criminal justice teacher.

I LOVE this instructor. She is funny, real, and I learned so much in this class that I did not know before about the criminal justice system.

Loved the subject. I knew very little about prisons and jails before this class. She has a real passion for teaching and this subject. We also got to go to the prison and tour it. incredible.

She is passionate about her topic and it really comes through in her teachings. I was thrown off because the hybrid class I took didn't have the traditional "power-point, notes, study, test" sort of feel. It was more, "read, read, read, answer questions, read." Which was fine, just different. She's also a pretty chill person.

A GREAT ONLINE CLASS!! She is very clear with her expectations and gives an appropriate amount of work for a 101 class. She is very quick to respond and is always happy to answer questions. Grading is fair and I will totally take another class from her!

Wow,the videos you watch are so informative and eye opening! You will learn so much more about prisoners, prisons and jails and she also takes students to the prison in Monroe. I LOVED this class and was heartbroken with some of the stuff I learned. SHe is really into corrections and it shows with the feedback and info. to us students.

Professor Freyberg is by far the best professor I've had. She is quick to respond when she is needed and she gives great feedback. Every week is the same set up just with different chapters. There are a few group projects but they're easy to complete and she's available for help when you need it. I am absolutely taking more of her classes!!

LOVED taking her class during this pandemic since I was scared to take online classes. She made it easy to follow and know deadlines. She did live lectures that were recorded so we could ask questions to her in real time or watch another time as well. I worked during the quarter and loved this flexibility. She is passionate & makes learning fun!

I loved taking this class. I wanted to know more about criminal justice, but don't plan to major in it. She was kind, passionate about what she teaches and always available during online office hours. We talked for 90 minutes one day about all sorts of criminal justice issues. Take her, you will not regret it.

During the pandemic I was worried about taking classes and working. She made it easy to listen to recorded videos and lectures when I wanted, not at a certain time. Did office hours in the evening due to my work schedule; that is cool! I loved learning about criminal justice, even though I plan to be a nurse I have learned lots and LOVED her class

Loved taking her class during Covid. She was clear with directions, gave 2x weekly announcements and feedback on each thing we turned in. She is caring and have audio with powerpoint so you can watch when you want. LOVED this class and her too!

Professor Freyberg showed great knowledge about criminal justice without being egotistical or cocky. She gave excellent feedback on every single assignment while still being efficient with it.

I would say that was a very helpful class. Since I took it over the summer, work was more crammed and stressful, but it was fairly easy nonetheless. I would recommend her PowerPoint lectures and a little bit of reading from the textbook. She gives good feedback and made the class enjoyable.

Loved having this professor! She is funny and nice in class and I enjoyed out assignments too. I may be taking more classes in criminal justice now.

I loved this class. Everything was so structured. Each week we had the same number of assignments and it made class a lot easier knowing what I had to do every week. Discussion posts are graded on grammar among other things so definitely use spell check. The lectures were also quite entertaining and we had a lot of interactive moments.

Although an online course there was a lot of outside homework and reading even for CJ101. She was very accomodating and answered emails fairly quickly. Just be ready for a heavier homework load and lots of quizzes, although you get more than one attempt on the questions since she does them through a separate online site.

I really have enjoyed this class. We have discussions in class, group assignments that are fun and watch videos that are diving into a topic more than the textbook. She is kind and shows where the criminal justice system has flaws and needs to improve. Would take again and again and not a major in this area.

She brings passion, interest and so much knowledge to this class about areas I had no idea had issues in the criminal justice system. I know what to do each week and love the videos we watch too. She really knows her stuff about the CJ system since she worked as a federal agent and corrections guard. Excellent teacher, would take again for sure!

She was one of my favorite professors! She was actually filling in for another professor the entire quarter. I am a RS student, and she was very helpful, easy to contact and clearly passionate about the CJ system. The coursework isn't hard, but there is a lot of reading involved, quizzes & group work. I suggest watching ALL of the lecture videos!

Professor Freyburg was one of the best professors I'd ever had. Her class discussions and lectures are engaging and interesting, the homework really added to what we were learning, and Professor Freyburg was just a kind, helpful professor in general. I came away with a new perspective on everything surrounding criminal justice. HIGHLY recommend.

I've had a lot of good professors, but she engaged the class with an obvious deep understanding of the course and the topics. She is passionate about CJ and has hands-on experience with it in the past. You won't regret taking her. I am not the best student but there is a good workload, and you get notecards for all of the quizzes. Highly Recommend.

This professor has fair logic, class attendance does affect your grade because of some in person discussions. You are expected to read a chapter of the provided book a week, with a quiz about every 3rd week.

a lot of material but makes sense for this class. expect to invest a bit of time into learning the material and watching her lectures. discussion topics are interesting. the tests may be difficult if you don't prepare properly--only one attempt. she is clearly knowledgeable and passionate. i enjoyed this course and rec but don't expect an easy A.

Absolutely hands down would take her again. Using both application, discussion, and informational slides, she explained stuff in very simple terms before creating bigger connections. She was easy-going and understanding yet still enforced rules--I appreciated her respect and kindness a lot. Amazing teacher all around.

Loved having serial killer videos with theories to understand more with short essays. The structure was great to know what to expect too. One discussion a week, one quiz every 2 weeks and if you read and followed slides you could do well. Extra credit and cared when I needed some extra help and always responded quickly. Will take again.

Professor Charlene was great for my online criminal law class. She was easy to reach, she answered questions well and nicely. Make sure to not just look at her slideshows but to also look in the book. But she has videos of her going over the information for the week and it's entertaining and not annoying to listen to. Great class overall !
