I got a B in her class, a mostly A. She has a pretty good sound and she loves to talk eith everyone and her teaching way is very well. There is no more homework and just to study then prepare for each quiz.

Ms Potter's class is made very easy and fun, she only gives you a few homework to ensure you can practice grammar and pre-writing very well. She knows how can teach a student and she will ensure you can have improvement in her class. Class is going straight forward and students could feel that they have a quiet close relationship with her. Nice!

Ms Potter is a so nice lady, she will curve your grade up that makes you satisfy. (Ex: if u get (B,C,C,C,C) totaly five times for your essay grade, then u will receive a B but not a C, she will give you a grade that pick your highest one. Thus, you will get a good grade and also you can learn a lot of stuff, only a tiny hwk for u just to practice.

Professor Potter is an great teacher, her class between easy and medium, which is a medium easy class. She ligtly to give you a grade on your essay even sometimes you are not good at writing. She will teach your how to write a god essay, draw a conclusion and a thesis statement. I believe everyone like her because she is seriously excellent!

She is a great professor in PCC. PCC needs her and students need her. She cares her students and she hopes that her students will do well on her quiz and test. Grammar quiz is not really hard, just revise a little and do some practice, you will be sure to get a good grade. In-class writing part is still easy as she picks interesting topic for you!

Ms Potter is one of the best professor I had at PCC, not only because she is excellent, she also cares her students a lot. She wants her students can learn a lot from her lecture. She always is willing to help everyone if you have any questions. I feelt free to ask her questions in her class. She likes students keep dilligent and careful attitude.

She is such a nice professor whose from Canada. She is nice but she would give you such a bunch of homework for practice. However, there are only some grammar quizzes and 5 essay tests (she will dropped thw lowest essay tests and quizzes). Great! Got B+, almost an A!

She is so carefully thought out, maintained well and challenging; however, she expects students to be proactive in their own education and approach her when they need help. She does not take the intitiative and go after her students but if you need her assistance, she is right there. She is a straightforward, direct to the point.

This is a pretty good and fun class. You just need to try a little and your grade would not lower than a B. There are severalgrammmar quizzes (which is easy) and plus a five in class essay. That's it! She would not give such lots of hw instead a tiniset hw for u. Great!

This is one of the most great professor at PCC. Professor Pottor not merely care about your studying, while she cares about your attitude and writing style of your essay. Ms Potter really is a nice professor. You would feel free to ask her question during both office and lecture time. She will help you by giveing a clear indication in order to make you understand completely. There are only 10 grammar quizzes, she dropped lowest two, and five in class essays(drop lowest one). Taker her! Don't be hesitate!

She always started in an interestind point then spread out her lecture. There are six in class writing and several grammar quizzes. They are all easy! There is only one thing that you need to do is you MUST reduce your grammar mistakes in your essay, then your grade will not lower than B.

Professor Potter is an excellent teacher. I had gotten a D with a another professor and I had to re-take the class. She made French much more understandable, she always anwers students questions. she's fun, she cares for her students, she's extremely helpful and amazing!!! I highly recommend her.

Tests are directly from book, lecture directly from book, HARDEST CHAPTERS DEAL WITH IPA!!!! Class is easy if you read book, homework does help understand concept, reviewed in class. JUST DONT SKIMP on IPA chapter. Easy A if you attend (particpation grade) and do hw (hw participation grade. check syllabus for expectations. U teach urself

Her style of teaching from day 1 is immersion she'll start off speaking to everyone in french but easy enough for everyone to understand. This might've been tough for some people who don't speak other romance languages but was actually very beneficial to me. Her tests are really easy, she's kind of a pushover but just the right amount.. she's gr8!

Professor Potter is an excellent French Teacher. This year there was a lot of interactive learning. Mid-term was a Group presentation. Chapter 7 test was open book. Chapter 8 test was a take-home test. For the Final we were allowed a cheat sheet. We also had to present a 5-8 minute video presentation. You will need the textbook & workbook. :P

She has a clear love of teaching that's different from other language teachers I've had. Her hw is easy and she gives you a lot of leeway and time to do it. The only downside to her is that she doesnt like Kanye but she gave me an A so I'll let that slide. Take her class

Professor Potter is really enthusiastic about Linguistics and it shows. She invites participation and enjoys laughter. The tests are challenging, but come right out of the book. Study! She has a really easy going nature about her and she is very, smart. Don't be afraid to ask for help. Cute, too. I will definitely take more of her classes.

You definitely need a book and the text book and must bring to class every day because she uses it to practice and also lets us practice with each other during class. I've taken French 1 before and had to withdraw because I was failing however, when I took it with Potter I got an A. She is an amazing professor and makes French so easy to understand. Her class is fun and goes by quick and she is very helpful.

Prof. Potter is an amazing teacher and person. She's a very fair grader, she's very funny, laid back and she cares about her students. She assigns quizzes at the end of every chapter, which shouldn't be difficult if you paid attention to her lectures. You definitely need to bring your textbook and workbook every day to her class.

It is a rare gem that you have a teacher come to class each day in a good mood & with a smile on her face. Her class is a lot of fun, we laughed about every class. She is continually patient and creative and coming up with ways to help you understand when you don't.

Outstanding! She is funny, kind, and charismatic. Don't hesitate to ask for help; no question is a stupid question. One group project, several multiple choice/ true-false exams but some were take-home. Tests can be tricky. She really wants you to pass so she curves the grades. Not a hard class, just don't take it during intersession!

Definitely one of my favorite classes at PCC. Professor Potter is easy-going and cares about her students. The tests are not the easiest but if you attend class and read the textbook, you should be able to get an A. More importantly though, she makes linguistics very engaging. There is some group work but it is fun.

Professor Potter is a great teacher, but her class is not easy. Do not expect to pass if you don't put in the work. The textbook is used daily. Every third class is a test, final is cumulative.

Prof. Potter was great!! Her lectures were very engaging and the classwork was fun. As long as you pay attention and do the readings, the only thing you have to worry about is not overthinking the exam questions. If you have any problems or questions she'll answer them and help you as much as she can.

She is so sweet and really loves her classes. Very passionate about languages. Ling 10 is a lot of material so make sure to speak up and ask questions! The chapter tests can be tough but not bad as long as you make sure to read the chapters. She's a very nice grader with HW.

She's a very fun professor who obviously has tons of experience and knowledge with linguistics. The assigned homework is easy, JUST DO IT! The exams are not that bad, but do read the textbook and pay attention during lectures. There's one little project at the end and honestly it's pretty easy too. If you simply put in the work, it's an easy A.

This class can be easy if you do your part. Theres a lot of reading and homework based on those readings. The class is very interesting. It makes you realize your personal biases and prejudices. Professor Charlene was always easy to contact. She answers all questions you have. If shes not sure, she tells you. She also accepts late homework.

She is there to help her students. She cares about them, even if they don't show up in class. Tests are not so difficult if you study before the test, and she is willing to give tips what to study for the test.

I dont really like her teaching style, but i do like her personality. Gives too much homework and refuses to give any study guide for the test. All in all, READ AND HIGHLIGHT important stuffs on the textbook and memorize it. Also, do the homework! Her test questions are tricky and specific. Try to speak to her after class, maybe shell compromise.

I am a disabled part-time student. I have been going to PCC for 4 years. I have had bad professors, run of the mill professors, than you get Professor Potter. She is one of my favorite professors here at PCC. She is consistently enthusiastic and caring at every single lecture. She really listens to what you have to say. TAKE HER CLASS!

Ms. Pottter is a solid choice if you want to major in lingustics. Always responds to emails with very little delay. You can tell she really cares about the subject and is very informed and educated. If you want a teacher who knows the subject, grades very fairly, and is willing to help this is the class to take.

Professor Potter was great. Her zoom lectures were engaging and recorded for those not in attendance. She's sweet and so kind. You can tell she loves her job and working with students. Homework, tests, and quizzes were manageable. She also provided a 24-hour grace period which was nice! Definitely would take her again and recommend her to anyone.

I took Professor Potter for two classes and really enjoyed both of them. She is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about linguistics, and she emanates positive energy during every class. She is always excited and ready to go. Furthermore, she is really helpful and will go over homework problems with you to make sure you understand them.

I was lost so many times, but after her zoom classes, I usually understood the chapter much better. It was very hard, but very interesting. I did well because of her and I studied, A LOT!!!

This professor is truly so helpful and informative. The people that say anything bad are probably bad students. This class takes work. (Anth. 5 is not easier). Linguistics is hard and you need a great professor to get through it successfully. professor Potter is amazing and will help you through it if you are willing to put in the work.

Professor Potter was great! She is very sweet and kind! She was very professional, always showed up to classes, and was there for her students. I took her for LING 014 and it was an easy A. Do your work, read the text, show up to lectures, and you'll be good! The work was not demanding or overwhelming and the class itself was pretty interesting.

Professor Potter is a great professor who is very caring and knowledgable, her weekly lectures/office hours were always helpful and informative. While the class is challenging and a lot of work, it is doable, and as long as you speak up when you need help, participate and do all the work and reading, there is no reason why you shouldn't succeed.

She's passionate about what she teaches, but the class was challenging. Her lectures would sometimes help, but she would oftentimes go on tangents that didn't get to the point or make concepts clearer. She gives a lot of passive-aggressive comments on your work. The HW is VERY LONG. But, if you like linguistics, take the class. You'll learn a lot.

Prof. Potter was really caring and helpful. Gave clear lectures and was really patient if you didn't understand something. Good at using Canvas and available outside of class. Get ready to read and spend time on the homework, it's really interesting stuff just don't procrastinate.

Took LING 013 / Phonet8cs with Prof. Potter and it was great. Reading and homework every week, sometimes it takes a couple hours but over time it gets easier. The final presentation is fun and she's a good lecturer. Explains the concepts pretty clearly but she's patient if you need to over something again. Definitely recommend a class with her.

I'd recommend anyone interested in linguistics and/or people who need honors credit to take this class. If you don't fit those requirements, reconsider taking this class. Professor Potter uploads Zoom lectures to watch that complement the textbook readings. However, the material is still very dense and confusing at times. The HW is minimal.

Lowk she scares me, but the class itself is not as hard as it may appear. Lots of homework each week, but it's more time-consuming than difficult. Dense material sometimes, but just read the textbook. She's obviously very passionate about linguistics, but there is a lot of material that didn't feel was necessary.

Professor Potter is fantastic. She is passionate about linguistics and this shines through her detailed lectures. The homework load is slightly heavy but every bit of it helps your understanding, especially the tough subjects like phonetics and phonology. Prof Potter values participation and is fair. This class was fun, and I highly recommend it.

Awesome professor! Class was so chill and honestly the content was interesting. Two attempts allowed for tests which definitely took some stress which was great. She is understanding and caring for her students. Highly recommend taking her.

Challenging and engaging introductory linguistics class!!! Lots of material to digest but super interesting, and the Fromkin book was great. Assignments are graded on effort rather than correctness; you get to choose which problems you do. Even tho it was an online class, it felt like it was in-person, as Prof Potter had delightful lectures :3

Linguistics itself is a bit of a difficult subject, but this class made it as simple as possible to understand. There's tests and assignments for every chapter, but you get 2 attempts and they aren't too hard to complete. If you're interested in linguistics or need honors credit, this isn't that bad of a class to take.

great professor! super understanding and felt like a real class even if it was online, despite linguistics being a sorta difficult topic, this professor made it easier to understand and i'd definitely take the class again if I had to.
