she is a woderful teacher she is really nice and teaches you really well she is very clear on the concepts she teaches and very helpful buuuuuuuut her test are killers if you study your butt off you'll get an A
TESTS ARE VERY DIFFICULT, even with proper studying. Very good lecture, but teaching methods are for the birds. Papers are required for certain subject matter that is very difficult, so you need to be able to teach yourself. I suggest staying away.

She seams nice but she is so mean. Her tests are so difficult and if you miss one of them, forget about getting good grades in her class.
She is not the easiest of teachers, test are ridiculous. She tends to be tricky. Also, she includes bogus papers into syllabus. I recommend looking elsewhere for a BIO teacher.
She expects you to know the material in and out top and bottom. Pretty tough class requires a lot of studying for those not majoring in the bio area.
she's really mean and not helpful. Tough class.
Shes not mean at all,as u say.if u need help and ask her, she'll be happy to explain it.isn't the easiest teacher, does require studying LOTS,i only study notes, got 86 and 90 on first two tests,no homework.Quizes are a lil tougher, but no biggie.LABisHarder
You study alot by yourself and get all the notes she says, then maybe you'll answer most of the question on her tests and exams and if you miss one of the tests or exams don't try anymore cause you won't get a good grade.
She does not use the book, test are based on lecture. Never miss class, because your done. No make-ups for quizes. Lab and practicums are very easy. Fun. Sometimes goes off tangent. You like her. Don't have to read textbook at all I got a B.
She is really rude and not understanding. She is not accomadating and doesn't understand her student's need. Her lectures are very vagues and she expects you to know everything that she did not lecture on. There is a quiz every week followed by a test.
bio 201 203 177, She is cool. I mean you have to take all the notes she says in the clas then go and read those areas in the book, and of course biology is all about terms and defintion so it can be difficult. but as long as you read the book you will get a good grade. I Highly Recomended to go to h
Study hard and you'll do fine. Her voice is soooooo annoying to listen to (in my opinion). If you're the kind to get distracted easily, don't take her!
She is hard, but thorough, don't take her if you aren't interested in learning something about Biology. She is passionate and knowledgable. Classes are difficult mostly based on notes from lecture use book as supplement. Ignorance is not an option in her opinion so never display any infront of her.
I learned so much from Ms. Powers!Very difficult but intersting! You will do well if you apply yourself. Practicums are very tough. Take advantage of office hours if your having problems in class...she is very willing to help her students. Very fair teacher and so knowlegable!Great for bio majors!!
She is the Best instructor that you can find. If you are a bio major she teaches you how to study for bio classes. If you dont work hard in the class no way that you can pass the class. TAKE ADVANTAGE OF HER OFFICE HOURS. its like you got a tutor for an hour each time. She is the best.
Once I figured out that her exams were derived from her lectures I started getting A's on the tests. She also explains anything you don't understand during her office hours. Another thing that helped this class was a bomb study group.
awsome awsome teacher she explains biology so well that no only is so interesting to learn but more challenging if u are planning to transfer out of JC this class will prepare u for a 4-year school way of studying she knows her stuff she teaches sooo well i looooved her class and especially bio 212 was very difficult i got an A in both classes but
she is a great teacher, annoying yes but knows what she is talking about. if you take good notes you will do fine.
I took her class over summer and found it pretty cool. I actually learned something from her classes
Yes she is difficult, but she is very helpful and interesting. You just have to get past her long lectures and sarcasm. If you don't want to learn anything, don't take this class. It's a lot of work and study, but you really do learn a lot.
Prof. Powers is a very intelligent professor!! She really knows what she is talking about and gives awesome lectures. It's not easy to get a good grade in her classes though, you really have to show up to every class and study your butt off! But overall, I would recommend her!
horrible teacher, i can think of a few choice words to sum her up but ill keep it clean. Dont take her.
if you can get past her kermit the frog voice, she is a pretty good teacher...just be sure to take notes...all her quizzes and exams are from what she writes on that overhead thing...if you have questions, she's usually pretty helpful if you are willing to ask for help
Miss Powers is tough. She really is not the kind of teacher that will just cut you some slack. She wants to see you work, and know the material. But she really does know what she's teaching. Also, she is the kind of person that is hard to approach because when you ask questions, she sometimes makes you feel a little dumb. Overall, good at her job.
She is tough, but will help you with anything. She is funny and fair. She doesn't like lazy people, so if you want an easy A, take someone else. However, if you actually want to learn something, which will be useful later on,then you need to take her. She is really cool if you get to know her and give her the respect she deserves.
she is very nice and stright forward lady, she is very helping when you ask, make sure you use her office hours. He lectures are hard to understand if you havn't read the book or don't know the terms..overall I like her class
Not such a great teacher. Her grading system was wacky--you never knew which mistakes she'd blow off or which she'd mark you down for and it wasn't consistent. Her rants were so annoying I stopped listening to everything about 3/4 of the way through the course. I hated it and got a C because I stopped caring. I remember nothing from this class.
I read the comments about her before I took the class and thought i'd give it a try and not believe how hard it was. The class is very hard! Only tests with no homework to help your grade. I got a D or less on every single test. Don't take this class people. Listen to reason.
Dont even waste time with her!!! i studied so hard all sememster, the exam questions are not even related to what she speakes and says. i dont recommend her for anything... i got D after studying so hard. Now after asking some people i know about her the best grade probably you can get in her class is C.
EVIL!! Don't do it!!
people who are so critical of prof. this way arent putting forth the effort to suceed. listen in lecture, study your notes, ask questions, and read the book, not hard to follow, right? she expects a lot from you, but shes a good teacher! if u cant suceed in her class, how will u fair at a university? ive taken her twice and enjoy the challenge.
WARNING: avoid at all costs!!!! HARD HARD HARD HARD HARD CLASS!
Don't take this teacher. Hard to get a high grade. I worked hard at this class and was sure I would get at least a B, but I still recieved only a C. Weekly quizes, but her quiz and test questions are unclear and poorly written. She is very inflexible. Powers, if you read this review, I hope you change your ways, but you are probably too stubborn.
You have got to be extremely lazy or stupid not to pass her classes with at least a b. At first i was getting a d but you need to study people!i got a b by the end of the semester, everything she lectures on is on the test. What? Do you want her to do it for you or something? How else are you going to learn. Shes great if your serious about school.
her test quiz on the details only not on the things we should really know she's not flexible at all and half of the class room disappeared even before the middle of the semester
This class is hard, you must study a lot!! if you study you can do well... she is not very clear so you have to make the extra effort to learn the material yourself. Good Luck
HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR. Asked several questions had received no input. The majority of my class did not pass the class because her quizzes focus on SMALL irrelevant details. For people who like her class and say those who fail are just lazy I left RSCC and am now at a university within 10 classes to complete my undergrad with a 3.81 GPA. AVOID AVOID
Constantly gets confused and likes to make up terminology on the fly.
She's a great teacher who knows a lot and is very available to clarify misunderstood material. When she grades hard, it's because your answer is wrong. Speak with the professor to find out where you can improve, and do it. I'd suggest taking an intro Bio class first, as she can't spend all class teaching the basics w little time left for Genetics.

I am a former student of Prof. Powers. She is not a easy teacher and that makes her an exceptionally good professor that you would appreciate the rest of ur life. Since in a 4 yrs university biology would not be easier. If it wasnt because of her I wouldnt be in Dental school today. Study hard and read the book u would be fine .
Why is she even a teacher? her expectations are unreasonable and she is extremely mean. It seems like she purposely makes her class impossible to pass and enjoys it. everything you would not want a professor to be. very critical of your work and her tests are unreasonably hard. she needs to be fired right away.
WARNING EVERYONE: DO NOT ENROLL IN MS POWERS BIOLOGY CLASS. we as college students want to succeed but her class is impossible to pass. this school is not supposed to be trying to make money off their students repeating the class. ONE OF THE WORST YOU CAN EVER GET AND EXTREMELY OBNOXIOUS! i had to drop, the class has a high dropout rate.
RUN, do not walk, away from ms powers bio class. DO NOT make the mistake of enrolling in her class and hoping it won't be THAT bad. IT WILL BE. seriously, the absolute worst professor I have ever had. unfair and unrealistic. do not waste your time with her because there are other nice and helpful bio teachers at SCC. HORRIBLE INSTRUCTOR
Obviously u guys are all out of high school or dont have a good background about biology. Since Bio109 by far should be the easiest class ever. But since she does not exam you from the notes she gives in the class, you get in trouble. if you read the book and UNDRESTAND the material there is no way in hell you get less than A+. She is THE BEST PROF
Negative comments don't necessarily mean that the students are lazy or out of high school. college students do want to succeed and if a majority of these comments are negative, what is that saying? but i know for a fact that ms powers is a horrible instructor. she is extremely mean and her expectations are that of PD.D students.
She seriously needs to pick a new profession. she is a mean lady who obviously hates what she does and takes it out on her students. she is the least understanding teacher on campus, no excuses even if a family member dies, completely unsympathetic. several people who sat around me hated her also and constantly kept talking trash about her.
very bad teacher, was very unhelpful and her class is extremely difficult. also has a major attitude problem
RUN RUN RUN
She is intelligent. But not a very nice person. The class is awfully tough and demanding however, tests are difficult even if you study your brain out. I had straignt A's for 3 semesters at SCC and my streak ended here with a C. stay away from this professor
If you are not good at science, I highly recommend you do NOT take her Human Genetics class. (Or maybe any of her classes) The class was extremely hard. She was not too helpful and seemed to assume most people were understanding the material, even though the class has no prerequisite. I only made it by with lots of memorization and the two papers.
absolutely the worst professor on the face of the earth. whenever i asked for help she was useless and rude. i got a C+ but her class is beyond hard. the exams hardly relate to the lecture or notes. Nobody in my class liked her. I would rather throw myself into a large pile of venomous snakes than take another class with this witch.
there is no point in taking this class because the highest grade straight a students get in it are always c's. its not worth having to take bio over again. simply read every single comment on this mean old bag and you'll see what i mean. NO JOKE
This is the first class in college that I have ever dropped and I had 6 A's and 4 B's on my transcript prior. She is a horrible professor. Her expectations are very unreasonable. The exams are ridiciously difficult. 8 people dropped the same class I was in and agreed with me that she is evil. When will SCC fire her? how can ANYONE get along with her?
Very difficult to understand in lecture. Random tangents are confusing. If you have to take her, don't. If you absolutely can't avoid her class, then take Foley for lab so she can re-teach you everything.
To say that Ms Powers is a horrible nasty professor is an understatement. there are no words in the english language that do justice to how nasty she is. will weed people out. not uncommon for her classes to start with 45 people and finish with 8. tests were on obscure information. shes the kind of person who nobody likes.
She is a great teacher. If you think she is hard, maybe you're just lazy. :)
DON'T TAKE HER CLASS!!!! I have a 3.8gpa and have never gotten a C (and I am not lazy). She wants to fail her students. She kicked the whole class out because people were talking and then quized us on the information we were suppose to learn in the lecture. She doesn't care if her students learn. I don't know how someone could enjoy her class. :(
Yes, her class is challenging, but she's not a horrible one as people are saying. She is knowledgeable and knows her stuff. When you have a question, go to her office hours. Extremely helpful. Her class is a good prep course for those who are thinking about transferring to UCs. To succeed in her class, you have to learn how to learn. Enough said.
its simple, professor powers knows her subject matter affluent enough to demonstrate it. all you have to do is take her notes during class and you will pass. the text book is not even nessecary. every one leaving negative comments are either eggheads or dumber than dirt.
People w/ bad comments = they are lazy. Just take her overhead notes, study them, listen to her lecture (she has some good off tangent stories), and that's it. TAKE GOOD NOTES AND READ OVER THEM. 10 question quiz every first day of week. 4 exams. extra credit options. Don't be lazy - you are in college.
you do not use the text book at all. do not even buy it unless you want to. lecture is pretty simple. she writes everything down. sit in front cuz room is big and you can see better up there. ask her questions - she will help. exams/quizzes - she makes them by what she writes only what she has on her overhead sheets. she's really nice, too.
ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL PROFESSOR!! I have dropped bio twice before because it was such a hard subject for me - Charlene was able to give me a real understanding of bio and I got an A!! I FIND IT HARD TO BELIEVE ANYONE COULD HAVE A NEGATIVE COMMENT ABOUT HER. She is creative in her teaching methods and her side stories helped me retain things that
Ms. Powers isn't a hard professor if you just pay attention and aren't rude in her class. She has a pet peeve about lateness and people who leave class early and make a big scene (i.e. slam doors). Make sure that you have good attendance and take good notes and you'll get at least a B.
extremely rude, do not leave her class unless it is the end of class, she will say something. lots of notes, attend every class, and MEMORIZE the material, dont bother buying a book.
she is a rude person and thinks the world of herself.please if you can really take another class.
I have thoroughly enjoyed taking Prof Powers class. Prior to entering, I was already planning to be a bio major, now I am sure. Beyond just knowing her stuff, you really get a good grasp of the material by the way she breaks everything down into sections, instead of just memorizing, you understand and comprehend, making them stick all the better.
She is there to teach, which she does clearly and thoroughly, she REALLY knows her stuff. If you are going into the class expecting it to be like high school, don't go, she doesn't take that crap. Text book totally unneeded btw, so don't waste your money. OH, and take thorough notes, I was surprised at the level of detail she got into in exams 3/4.
If you do not follow easily on the subject she is the absolute WORST teacher to take. She ONLY does written notes, very hard class because she does not specify what is important. She just stands up there and talks the whole time...really hard to follow. All of the test are REALLY hard and even the quizzes. She just does not understand how to teach.
Perry is there to teach, not make friends. Her class is highly note based making the book obsolete. She definitely knows what she's talking about. Lecture can get quite boring being I had over 80 students in the class. No homework. Tests are fairly difficult. She doesn't take role but you need to go to class to get a good grade.
She knows what shes talking about. She was my favorite teacher this semester and i looked forward to her lab. I did not have her for lecture but she was so good only in lab and my lecture class was a joke, she made it so i didnt have to study for lecture. Hard class but she makes you understand. Really enjoyed it!!! take her! especially in lab :)

Great professor. Highly recommended. An extremely lecture-based course. She really makes you think critically, a skill that is highly mandatory for the field of biology. Exams consists of multiple-choice and essays. Tip: For essays, make sure every point you write down is followed by a "because."
She was absolutely fantastic, I loved her class. I highly recommend taking her class. She is very clear and very helpful. The only downside to her class is that all your notes must be hand written, no laptops are allowed in her class.
great class. All test/quiz questions are taken from the lecture (which she handwrites every class). She can be a bit confusing, but will answer any question you have w/o making you feel stupid. I used the text book when rewriting notes to clarify what I did not pick up in class. study notes= easy A. Has fun dry sense of humor Quick return on grades
Do not take this class!!! She does not know how to teach. The test and quizzes are very hard and she does not teach from the book. She is very boring and has no interaction with the students. I failed this class and had to re-take it will a better professor.
I am sitting in her class right now PLEASE DON'T PUNISH YOURSELVES. She is so boring. :((((
Her quizzes are really hard, compared to her notes. If you get something wrong on the quiz, go see her during her office hours and see what you missed. She might ask it again in the exam. Overall, she's a boring teacher, mediocre at best. If you have questions, she'll answer them. But, that's it. Try not to take her class.
Powers is a very "traditional" sort of professor. Straight lectures, no powerpoint or class discussion time, just information overload. This might be okay if she structured her lectures coherently. Instead, they jump from topic to topic, creating confusion. She does not answer questions clearly either. Sometimes funny, but disappointing overall.
She is a really clear and straight forward teacher. I would definitely recommend her.Shes the best bio teacher I have ever had.Make sure to write not only what she writes on the board but everything she says. I didn't even buy a book and I got an A. Study your notes and you will get an A. Tests are easyyy
She is a decent professor, however her personality makes this class unbearable. She is always in a bad mood and you get the feeling that she hates her life and is taking out her frustrations on her students. Not to mention the sound/accent of her voice is like hearing nails on a chalkboard. She sounds like a Jersey girl with tourettes. avoid her
I didn't like her personality or her voice, but I would still take her class. EVERYTHING on her quizes and exams are staight from her lectures. Don't waste your $$ on the text book, just take good notes.
Horrible teacher! She is very unclear, her lectures are extremely boring and her test are hard. I'm retaking the class with a much better teacher now. I learned nothing from her even though I really tried. I do NOT recommend her at all.
Powers is a bad teacher. I went to class everyday and read the textbook and still failed the test. I'm really dedicated to school especially Bio my favorite and she ruined it. She doesnt want you to succeed. Your answers on test will never be enough or always too much. She totally favors BOYS over girls. She will make you feel stupid when asking ?s
Tests only cover what she goes over in class, however, you need to read the book to have any clue what she is talking about. Exams are short response questions + 40-50 multiple choice questions. Not an easy class, but very doable.
Very frustrating and not helpful at all. She said everything on the test would come straight from lecture and that we didn't even need the book, which was false. I studied for weeks, read the book, took great notes and there was still material on the test that I wasn't familiar with. Just one of many grievances. Avoid taking her if possible...
Not a very good teacher... annoying and her lectures are incomprehensible. Do yourself a favor and take a better class. I am usually a good bio student and did horribly in her class.
totally confused. not a very good teacher. read and reread my notes did not understand anything. i got lots of help from bio teachers on youtube.com who actually know how to teach biology
Take bio 211, before you take Human Genetics. Powers was actually nice! unlike when she taught 211. Once a week, 10 quizzes(mc), and less people to teach as non-bio majors. Go to office hours if you need help/chat. Do not buy the book. Can't have a laptop in class. Be sure you can explain a term/process in an essay form. Details are key
The best bio professor there is at SCC! She makes it super clear! She uses the over-head for notes.. Which is a bit weird.. She's very old-school also, if you want to pass her, there 3 things you must do! 1. Take good notes with book handy in lecture. 2. Rewrite your notes with diagrams and more explanations. 3. Rewrite those new notes with even better explanations from when you went to office hours and colorful clear pictures for when you re-read your notes to study.
Very good teacher. Have had her as a Bio teacher twice (109 and 212) and both times it was great fun. Tests and quizzes are fair and always on material she goes over in lecture. Most of the time everything is written down, but don't forget to write down what is said in addition to what is on the projector. Fun person if you get to know her.
Dr. Powers is an excellent biology teacher. Shame on the person who posted the comment below!! Lecture notes are based off the book,so make sure to read the sections that coincide with the lecture material. Terms and definitions will not get you an A in this class. Be prepared to explain the biological significance of each topic. Loved this class!
Dr powers is an awesome teacher and a lot of these comments below that are bad pertain to the bio 109 class.... Powers is a difficult teacher to get used to but once you understand her teaching style the tests are a cake walk.... I didn't even need a book and i got an A! She's moody, so work hard and don't get on her sh!t list and you'll do great.
Great teacher. Class was challenging as any class should be. Glad to go back through notes to clarify misunderstandings. 3 or 4 tests. Take extremely thorough notes in this class. All of the quizzes and tests are based off of the notes. Textbook helps with diagrams she uses for notes. I suggest using flashcards; a lot of terms to remember.
Her class is very difficult, but not impossible. I received a B in the class. There are other teachers who are probably easier but she is nice and I learned a lot. Bring her some black licorice, she loves it!
She is by far the WORST teacher I have ever had! Her tests were extremely difficult and more people dropped the class then actually stayed in it. No homework and like everyone has said before me, you fail a test or quiz and you are done. DO NOT TAKE HER, you will regret it later.
This was the first college class and I do not reccomend her for summer class. I would not ditch her class. She has a quiz every class and about 4 tests. Get the book cause she doesn't go over everything in her notes. Also don't piss her off cause she will tend to be rude
Once you get to know her and understand the way she works the lectures, it's a really fun class. Anything that she writes down or says you should remember. Tests and quizzes are fair; just remember everything that she says, and if she says it twice you can bet it'll show up on a quiz or test. Highly recommended for any bio major.
She is a pretty good teacher, and is quite clear on what will be covered on each test and quiz. She can also be funny at times. However, half of the time she gets really nasty when a student asks a question she thinks is dumb... She'll roll her eyes and raise her eyebrows and such. Not very approachable.
She seems to be grumpy all of the time, but she is extremely knowledgeable. Quizzes and exams make up the class, so if you don't test well then don't take her class. Overall, it was a fairly easy class. As long as you take notes on her lectures then you don't need to buy the textbook
Tough class- so much that I had to withdraw. I studied all the notes but the tests were still like reading Latin. She is fast & not clear; needs to remember its an intro course, not advanced. Very grumpy. Can only miss 2 classes. No hw. Lots of studying if you even want to consider passing. I should've listened to myself and not taken this class :(
Horrible. Extremely unhelpful and rude. The material in lecture is irrelevant to test material.
I loved this class. Bio 109 with Powers is NOT AN EASY CLASS, by the end of the semester 75% of the class had dropped. This class is definitely challenging, but as long as you attend lectures & study the notes you will do fine. Quizzes are given weekly & tests bi-weekly. Put in the effort & you will be fine. She will not baby students & can be rude
I'll be honest I hate biology, but this professor made that hatred worse. She is rude and what she lectures about is not even on the exams she gives. And asking for help forget it. She only likes you if your doing good in her class. My suggestion don't take her.
I transferred to a UC last year as a bio major & she did an amazing job preparing me for the challenge. Advice: REALLY pay attention to her lectures & take THOROUGH notes. It took me 1 semester to realize that she subtly feeds you the exam questions. This isn't easy & it's not supposed to be. Diligence is key, make the effort & you will get an A.
This is the easiest class ever if you show up to class and take thorough notes. Pay attention an write down everything. I just glanced over my notes 30 mins before every test and ended up with an A in the class. You don't need the book because she gives you all test information
Great woman willing to go the extra mile to help you, but a fairly difficult class. The quizzes are like mini tests and are completely fill in the blank or explaining something (no scantron), and while her tests are partly scantron she does the same there too. She grades very hard but if you're willing to study and do the work, you'll do well.
Highly recommend taking somebody else. Somebody didn't pass my quiz over fast enough for her expectations and our entire row failed the quiz (huge lecture hall). Talked to her after class and emailed her, ZERO remorse. I don't understand why somebody would even teach if they are out to fail people. Don't ruin your GPA. Go elsewhere.
THIS TEACHER MADE ME WANT TO STUDY SCIENCE TO A HIGHER LEVEL. I REALLY ENJOYED GOING TO HER CLASS. SHE RELATED TOPICS TO STORIES THAT PEOPLE COULD RELATE TO AND IT MADE IT EASIER TO UNDERSTAND WHAT SHE WAS TEACHING. TAKE NOTES ON EVERYTHINGGGG! CONSTANTLY LOOK THEM OVER AND ATTEND EVERY CLASS. VERY IMPORTANT. OTHERWISE SHE IS AN AMAZING TEACHER. :)
Don't bother buying the book. Just show up to class, laugh at her sassiness and write EVERYTHING down that she says. You will get an A
She was very passionate about teaching this class and has high expectations. You can't just wing this class, studying after every lecture helps because it piles up quickly. I worked very hard for my grade and got a B. A is possible but takes a lot of time. Goes beyond memorization, understand concepts because it will repeat again in later chapters
Her lectures are super long and super boring. It's almost like she is giving herself a lecture because she doesn't look at her students or even try to communicate with them. There was a quiz EVERY Monday. Her tests and quiz's are not clear and very hard. On top of that, she is a hard grader. I suggest NOT taking this class.
Prof. Powers is an amazing professor. She has a passion for the subject and really dedicates her time to spread her knowledge of each concept. I started off as one of the worst students and worked my way back up to a B. A is very reachable; make sure to read the labs before hand and review your notes after every class and you should be perfect (:
Rudest professor i've ever encountered. Rolls eyes when you ask her a question.
If you pay attention and take good notes, tests will not be hard. Lab is the biggest concern because you are responsible for how thorough you carry out your assignment. I could not emphasize enough how hard practicums are because of the amount of information. With that said, you definitely learn, and you learn a lot. Take her class.
Do not take her classes! Her quizzes do not coincide with her lectures! She can be rude at times when you ask her questions. Take a another bio teacher!
Do not take her classes! Her quizzes do not coincide with her lectures! She can be rude at times when you ask her questions.
The worst teacher I've ever had. Her lectures are incomprehensible and she is incredibly rude. She likes to make her students feel stupid. I love Bio and am very good at it, but even I struggled with passing her tests because her lectures made no sense. I don't know how people who aren't already strong in Bio even pass her class. Save yourself.
A very good instructor. She gives lots of extra credit. They were on all the exams. There was 1 extra credit quiz at the end of the semester, and extra credit at the end some lectures (so you have to stay until the end of class and write answers to lecture questions on flashcards and turn them in for extra credit). The final exam was not cumulative.
Worst teacher I have ever had in my life. Doesn't care about her students and makes everything so confusing. She gets irritated when you ask a question and doesn't seem like she really enjoys her job. I would highly recommend you taking another teacher. Her tests are hard and her quizzes are every week and are hard as well. Don't take her.
Her lectures were entertaining. Some of the stuff we learned in bio109 was common knowledge so she can be a bit sassy if you aren't up to speed. If that's the case sit in the back. The tests are multiple choice with extra credit open answer questions. What's on the notes is on the test. She provides office hours. I found her to be really funny.
Boring lectures because she talks in a sleepy, monotone voice. Quizzes and tests don't reflect her lectures. 10 quizzes In total so basically you have 1 quiz every week.
