Mr. Horan is a very professional teacher and he is very fair. His assignments are very straight forward. Take him if you're serious about learning about business and principles of management, trust me you will learn a lot. I really enjoy this class.

His lectures in class are very helpful when doing the quizzes online, if you listen you will pass the class, just turn in homework every week when it's due and you will have no trouble passing the class.

Great class! Tons to learn about in a short time since it is a hybrid course! but it is well worth it. You have to keep up with the chapters and not fall behind. I learned a lot from Professor Horan, and I plan to take his Entrepreneurship class soon.

You MUST go to every class. The test questions are taken directly from the book, but the lectures will always direct your focus to what's important. Since the tests are timed, you should know what sections to focus on to help you find the textbook answers faster. His real-world experience is great, but a lot of class time is spent on tangents.

Professor Charles Horan is a great educated professor, he's smart witty and easy to talk to. If you take his class, you won't regret it. BUT there is a lot of work, which is a given, and you probably shouldn't miss any class because attendance is worth a lot of points. I recommend that anyone should take a business class. its super informative.

Professor Horan is a faNiantic choice for BUS 200. You will have to keep up in the book yourself because the lectures cover material you need to read before class. Expect to be called upon. The tests are hard but don't comprise a huge portion of the total grade. Would take again !!!

Took Professor Horan for Bus 100 over the summer. The class was great. He uses a lot of his own experiences in the lectures (mentioned his own pen business multiple times to enchance his point). If you pay attention to the lectures and do all the coursework outside of class on time it's easy to get a good grade.

Took Horan's management principles course and was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed it. I expected a real eccentric at first (especially from his website & the first few videos watched) but I've learned a lot from the class (he has a lot of real-world experience) and plan on taking his marketing class next summer if I have the time.

He was a very good teacher. I would take him again. Funny good story telling, I am very happy I got him as a professor. Though for BUS 100 you have to use mindtap which isn't my favorite.

I took a 6week class, there was a lot of assignments that you need to finish before class, but less than what you would be used to taking a 6week online course. If you miss class, you might find the quizzes hard. Assignments are half your grade+ attendance is 10%+do your quizzes, and you will pass. It is an easy A, but you have to work for it.

There will be quite some work because it is an 8 week class, but the lectures really help understand each chapter! Totally recommend!

This professor is great and his class is fun. Although class attendance is not mandatory, u need to be in class if you want to pass. Lots of Assignments and reading needed to pass. He is very understanding when you talk to him and he is willing to help you pass if you put in the effort.

Professor Horan is an excellent business professor available at NVCC. His grading criteria is concise and clear. While power-points and lecture are the primary means of teaching, exercises to reinforce concepts are mixed in as well.

Great Professor. Honestly one of the best I've had at NOVA. His communication is clear and he's willing to help anytime students have questions. The class is fairly simple, as long as you read the textbook and ACTUALLY do the assignments. Everything is already laid out for the semester, all you have to do is the work and understand the concepts.

Professor Horan is truly a great professor. He has great knowledge on many topics. Although, class is fairly easy to pass, I suggest you pay attention as you learn benefits information for the real world.

Overall he is a good professor with work experience related to the courses he teaches. His grading criteria is clean-cut. Course is intense in reading and homework, but if a homework deadline is missed and have a valid excuse, the professor is flexible on giving extra time to complete. I would take another course with him again.

The professor does use the textbook to do homework, tests and quizzes. But I had taken this class during COVID-19, but still the class was good it gave me a good grade. There are some group work but trust me, I do not like group work, but the work was done fast and you could leave class afterwards. But remember, this was done during COVID.

Took this professor over zoom during COVID, if you have the option take his class over zoom DO IT!!!!!! Great professor, hardest assignment imo was the news article.

This class was presented over zoom and he didn't make it stressful at all. One of my favorite teachers this semester and taking his class next semester too! He gave clear instructions, didn't give out busywork, and he's funny so lectures were always enjoyable! TAKE HIS CLASS AND YOU WON'T REGRET IT!

This class was well taught and organized by Professor Horan! The homework is simple if you do the reading. We have group work at the end of most classes and it very interactive. He's also always available through text anytime if you have questions which is great. I would highly recommend you to take Professor Horan, you won't be let down.

Because of COVID the classes are online which means you do need the textbook to do the homework. However, Cengage homework is challenging! But you only get one assignment for the whole week. Must show up to class because the professor does count your absence; just show up! Besides that he is amazing and is a fun professor for any studnet!

I took him on zoom during COVID. He's really funny and gives examples of everything from his life which helps with understanding topics. HW is on Cengage but it takes the average of your 3 tries rather than you highest which can be frustrating at times. Other than that, he's a good professor and I'd recommend him

Love him. I am so sad that this is my last class with him. He is very clear with his expectations and how you can get an A. He tells you what will be on his test so you can study what he tells you. The homework is easy. The majority of it is on Quizlet (we used Pearson).

He is great and easy going. We used Pearson for homework, there are 2 news paper articles, and two exams that he mentions their questions in the exam review. I recommend taking him if you want an easy A!

Professor Horan is really kind and easy to understand during lecturing. The class is very structured and organized so you won't have a hard time understanding what's going on. He could be easier to contact through e-mail but otherwise, he is a great professor and a great choice for your business class.

Uses a lot of YouTube, but its a Zoom class so what can you expect. Due dates for homework were on days of exams. Only two exams, but a lot of work in between.

This class was really easy to keep up with because of the way the class was divided into 2 sections (First 3 weeks and 2nd 3weeks of the 6 week course) over summer. There is a 4 page paper due for each of the 3 weeks and all the hw is due at the end of the sections too so you could do the hw at your own pace and it does take long. There are 2 tests

Honestly I took a 7 week course with this professor and I didn't feel overwhelmed or anything. I had plenty of time to do my work. Tests and homework I did on my own time obviously with a due date but I had plenty of time. He gives extra credit and you only meet once a week for two and half hours but trust me its not even bad. Great professor !

7-week class (once per week via Zoom, 2.5 hours - graded attendance), and I learned a lot. A solid professor especially when you are cementing the basics. Straightforward grading: course had four sections/tests, chapter homework, NO late work. Lecture heavy but engaging; he is fun and gives plenty of extra credit. Take him if you want to learn!

I took Prof. Horan's BUS 100 and really enjoyed his class. He understood that most of us who attended his class had a job or either kid and he was very helpful in that aspect. He made it fun and I enjoyed the lectures and videos during class. As long as you complete the assignments when they are due and study for your exams you will do well.

You have to purchase MyLab to due the hws and quizzes. Only 2 exams and you got a week to take them whenever they're announced. Two papers about anything business related (4-5 PGs). Soft voice, so turn up the volume. Lecture heavy, but he does play videos most of the time. Does some group work in zoom, but they're not horrible.

My fav this semester. Really caring and respected. Hw weekly through Pearson, be aware to purchase with that program. 2 big news article Intnl related. 2 exams overall. 7-week online lecture Sat am. The course was engaging and VERY informative. Best decision ever! Time passes quickly; gives a couple of quick breaks and super helpful examples that tie material learned to real-life experiences. All assignments through E-book & Connect take time, so try to space them out over the week. JUST TAKE THE CLASS!

I took this class virtually. There's an online textbook w/ assignments required for each chapter. we met once a week to review the chapters we read. Mid term and final were open book. 2 news article review papers to write, he provides a template and its very simple. just do the assignments, go to class and you'll pass easily.

He is one of the kindest teachers I have met so far. I highly recommend you to take his class. Quiz for each chapter and 4 exams, all open book. At the beginning of the class he said that he would not provide any extra credit, but as the class progressed he provided 3 extra credits. Pretty standard workload for an asynchronous course. Prof. Horan gave good feedback on assignments, and posted announcements each week so students knew what was due. His exams are kinda tough since there's no study guide, but you get to use a sheet of notes so make sure to study quizzes/relevant textbook info and you should be fine!

Taking 280 as an ONLINE class was easy, but tedious. Assignments were based on McGraw Hill concept materials that took a few hours to complete, but was still easy. As well as, weekly journal prompts. Prof himself was accessible outside class. I recommend working ahead on the McGraw Hill homework for this class, it WILL BE in your favor!

This BUS 280 class is a good class, since proff Choran makes it easier and more fun to learn about the contents of the book. Lots of homework, one midterm and a final and two news articles. He also provides reviews before each exam. Take this class you won't regret it.
