quizes easy if you read. essay tests challenging, but good. likes to argue. A+
Very good teacher, lets you speak your mind, is way smart
Good Class. Likes to argue and that makes the class fun. Hard not to Pass.
cool ****ing guy
Outstanding, smartest Prof on this campus
I've had him for various upper level PSC classes and he is one of the best prof. I have ever had. He is very helpful and keeps class interesting.
he is an awesome professor. his course is great and fun. i liked it so much i made up a happy poli-sci dance. i'm a little insane. he's a really nice guy and everything he talks about he's able to relate back to the course material.
Tough to follow in class sometimes, but very smart and funny. Just show up to class and participate.
took poly sci as a night class, maybe it could have been easier. i did not enjoy the class, he was not very easy to work with.

awesome class! hes funny as hell and sarcastic. made the class fun and enjoyable. his FILM AND POLITICS class is soooooooo great! take it is at all possbile. sexy in a weird older man way.
Dr. Abel is a brilliant professor. He makes classes really fun and interactive. Although he is sometimes hard to get along with, he knows his stuff and makes sure you do to. He relates everything to something more understandable. Definately a favorite.
awesome teacher and guy, really funny. makes the class fun! explains everthing until every last person understands, relates things to the students lives. his politics thru film class is long but believe me WELL worth it, take him!! He is the best psc prof
This class is so much fun, We get to watch a lot of cool movies every second class day. Professor Abel is awesome
His class was fun and interesting, but I do have a problem with him. When he's in class he's cool, and seems to really respect you. However, when you see him alone in his office, or in the hallway, he acts as if he's too good to even look at you.
Only attorneys are this sexy when they're destroying your argument! Seriously, he's an engaging and thouhgtful instructor--uses interesting methods that keep politics fun!

He gives a review sheet, pre-test and test. He teaches with short films, and has good examples so its not just words. He teaches off power point, and keeps the class entertained and awake. I strongly recommend him.
Dr. Abel knows his sh*t! He's a great guy and his class is really fun! The only reason anyone would say anything bad about him on here is because they probably slacked off and didn't have the guts to participate in class discussions! P.S. DR ABEL IS HOT!
Super smart guy. He can play the devil’s advocate to the point of frustration though!
Everyone that voted rude apparently cannot take criticism. The man is a genius and makes you a better arguer. Best teacher at SFA, if you are not grown up to handle the controversial topics he chooses stay out of the real world!
if you like debating and constantly being wrong, take this class....
Dr Abel is a bad ass... The epitome of the American male. He radiates confidence in everything he does, whether it's ordering a drink, buying a set of wheels, or dealing with women. He's slow to anger, brutally efficient when fighting back. The badass ca
Amazing teacher, forces you to think for yourself, and will never tell you how he feels about a subject so you can develop your own opinion. DEFINANTLY TAKE THIS GUY!
This guy is awesome, he makes you think for yourself and is always ready to hear opinions in class..I would say the He is one of the BEST Profs. @ SFA. Take Him iF you can. His test are essay, i loved it. they were easyier than Objective.Bad Ass Guy
He really got you to speak up and say what you thought. He actually makes you analyze what you believe and why. He will help you also, and wants you to speak up. Great class, I was always interested in what we were talking about!!
Excellent teacher, don't miss classes, participate & you will learn to think for yourself. He always take the opposite position. Highly recommend him, a must to take for government.
class is different-no books, no tests, no quizes. only write papers based on discussions-go to class and participate, nice guy, always makes you explain your argument so be prepared, also get to watch some funny money clips
He is a great teacher. If you can't write essays don't take him, but if you are even decent then he is a must. Starts arguments and helps keep them going in class, very fun. He also gives major bonuses on the exams. My worst test grade was a 100!!!
This guy is awesome. I really liked him personally and that's saying a lot for a professor. He really makes you think for yourself.Tests are acutally fun! He's a great person. You have to try hard to fail his class!
Dr. Abel really knows his stuff. No book needed for the class, and he doesnt take attendance. Classes are mostly interesting debates and the test are essay test, but he tells you everything you need to include. Awsome guy!
Abel challenges your opinions and makes you understand all aspects of an issue. He's hilarious and a great teacher.
ok you can't fail his class. i was never interested in polisci and now i'm changing my major. this class is tha****! everybody take abel and get a what? an A!
He is okay, but test get kind of hard
He was a great teacher, tests are essay but he gives you the exact prompt and gradesheet ahead of time, he gives you extra credit if you write two essays for test up to 150 on each test including the final. He gives pretest, if you like your grade on the pretest then you dont have to take the test
full of himself, very arrogant
He's a cool teacher, but he gives all essay test. However he does let you take a pre-test and if you do well then you don't have to take the real test...he even does this for the final. Just make sure to follow the rubric he gives for the essays.
His tests and quizzes are so easy. This is a good class to take for an easy A!!!
Three tests. You get two tries for each test. You get to be involved in lots of fun political discussions. Easy A, go to class and take notes.
This class is just FUN whenever you're not writing out notes. Go to class, listen to what he has to say, although he doesn't have an attendance policy. 3 tests: you get a pretest for each of them and if you do bad on the pretest, you can raise your grade by taking the actual test. I love this class!
Voted on having 2 tests for the semester. Get ready to argue! You'll love it and learn a little bit about yourself in the process. Don't make what grade you want on the pretest, you can raise it on the test.
This is a wonderful teacher. Alot of people drop the class after the first week because of the work on the sylabus. Just stay in the class and you will see how fun and interesting it is. He is a very exciting teacher. But participation is a must. I made an A
he is really good professor. I do not even speak fluent English and I made an A
Very interesting and fun. Brings up topics all the time to get people to argue. test are essay and gives a pre-test. if you fail it you get to take it again and the higher grade counts. Gives an outline for how he wants the test.
Expects you to only disagree with him in arguments. You never get any grades back. Tape recored his lectures as proof to what he said in class he will try to convince you he lectured during two weeks of class when he didn't. He won't teach you how to write a brief until the last week class.
He is rarely in his office. You have to make apointments with him to get in contact with him. He expects you to be able have the power to mind-read how he wants the briefs written. I wish you all the best of luck who decide to take his level 400s courses...
Dr. Abel is a very good profesor who cares about what his students are learning. He aslo allows the student to think for themselves.
If he had ability I would comment on it.
I really enjoyed this class, we only had 2 tests but he gave a retake, and he also gives good participation grade, you just have to participate. Good teacher!
I really enjoyed his unique style of teaching and approaching the student. He is a wonderful teacher who definitely found his special talent in life and that is teaching. I would recommend any student to take his class!
Very cool teacher. I dislike Political Science and he made this class interesting. He shows his notes on powerpoint presentations so you can copy the notes word for word. Go to class, study your notes and you can easily get an A.
NO Way! there's no way anyone can fail this class with this prof. if you fail it's cuz you want. made an A in his class. He's super cool.
hes fun...he likes to start stuff in class so we would debate. hes really nice, would do anything for anyone...Tests are going to be tough, all essay, quizzes once a week. FUN FUN FUN
this guy is real cool, take his class
Dr Abel is the best. It has been 8 years since his class. I would never forget him. He really tried to spark thought and inspiration into every student. For some like me, it worked. Others were offended which is equally admirable. Ha. I just remembe
Abel was an awesome professor. I hate political science, but he made me interested in and gave me some things to think about. Attendance was important because no book was required for the course. That also means if you don't understand the notes, it will be very difficult to pass the essay tests. Get a tutor if you don't get it. Going to class is the most important tip to give. He answers questions clearly. He does argue with you like he always expects you to disagree, but it gets you thinking.
he's fairly easy, just have to pay attention & speak up in class. All essay tests, the final is cummulative. tests are almost entirely from your notes. He likes to get the class involved in debate- which made it more interesting. I'd take him again. I enjoyed his class, even thought i had to study alot before the tests. it was not that hard though
dr. abel is so great! he is really smart and knows his stuff. you can voice your opinion in class, and even if your dumb, he WON'T make you feel stupid. you have 3 papers, 3 grades. you have 2 weeks to write these papers. he is very helpful. he wants his students to do well and learn as much as you can.
Professor Abel is really cool.his clas is easy but and it doesnt really require u paying attention in class just make sure u copy the notes. the test are defintion and applying them to a situation. i got a 100 in the class..take him
he is cool and if you need any help he will help you. His test are easy and his class is interesting and funny.
The grade consisted of three essay exams. No book is required, so attendence is neccessary to excel in the class. I thought he was a great teacher. I hate this subject, but he made me think and presented the material as being relevant to current events. He likes to play devil's advocate, so you just have to not take it as a personal attack.
All essay tests. Classwide retest for those who don't like their grade. Fun lectures. Encourges independent thinking. Discussion participation is required.
This is a wonderful course for anyone who is interested in Constitutional law. It will be challenging, and there will be alot of writing, in addition to classroom discussion;however, the payoff is tremendous. Dr. Abel is gifted at combatting the issues, and challenges his students to THINK about their responses. I highly recommend this course.
Awesome class- really prepared me for law school. He's a great teacher with a hands-on approach; sits you in a circle and holds open discussion rather than lecture...definitely recommend!
he's OK, class is pretty easy, he's a bit arrogant, but not too bad
It was an easy A for me.
This class is pretty easy. You have to take a lot of notes, but the test are so easy! You have a review two weeks before the test, then a pretest, and then the actual test! Easy to make an A as long as you do the work! Take this class!
boring teacher.. had to make myself stay awake everyday in class. but i made a soid B and i never read the book
I didn't really care about politics before I took this class. You learn a lot. It's kinda a fun class. You have pretest and then the real test. So it's like a second chance if you fail. But the test are easy if you study.
very interesting man. class is all about notes. copy power point down word for word. study the crap out of the notes. and you will be fine. two essays...NO retakes or pretest in this one. i got an a..but studied alot. good teach...really funny clips shown in class and hillarious soundbites. be prepare to BATTLE with opinions u dont agree with
he was a great teacher!! he does power points all the time and they are always entertaining. i got a 97 avg and i HATE anything to do with poiltics. he does essay test but he gives you an outline of what he expects to be in them. you take a pre-test/esssay...and if you like your grade you keep it, if not take it over & its the exact same outline =)
Dr. Abel is a great. Exams are all essay but you get two class days to do it. Really knows what he is talking about. Take notes from class presentation. Recommended Highly
Very hard. He expects way too much for a basic class. Seems like he could be an ass.
He is silly, but gets the point across. I really enjoyed the discussions.
Prof Abel was difficult to get along with. As long as you write what he wants to hear on your exams you will be fine. I remember him comparing being pregnant to having a midget chained to you for nine months. He offended many in my class.
AMAZING! His class is wonderful-and this coming from someone who has NO intrest in polysci. You write notes from his slides-have in class discussions. Homework is minimal. Exams are super-easy! And you get 2 chances for each exam-so if you mess up you can learn what you did wrong and take that same exam again! Would def. take again.
Great professor! American Political Thought was one of the most challenging and rewarding classes I've taken at SFA. He lets you "build" a final paper over the course of the semester, allowing you to make subsequent revisions based on reading and classroom discussion, giving you criticism along the way. Be sure to take THOROUGH notes!
I like him as a person, but hate him has a teacher. No textbook is nice. Gives workbook assignments that are easy (basically completion grades). However, his papers are all single spaced and HAVE to be 2 pages (so technically 2 pages and a sentence on the third page) or else you will get a 0. That's the awful part. That's why I hate him.
He is a good lecturer, but he will never care about you or your grade as an individual. You will never experience leniency from him under ANY circumstances. If you miss class because someone died, he will want to see a death certificate before he gives you any information about what you missed. He also doesn't respond to emails. Ever.
His lectures are very easy to follow. If you are a shy person, I would not recommend him because 10% of the final grade comes from participating in the daily class discussions from his lectures. Essays are time-consuming. Also heard complaints that he will grade the essays low if your political views =/= his views. WKBKs are also very easy.
Dr. Abel is one of those professors who expects you to work for the grade you want. He's not easy by any means, but if you go to class (EVERYDAY!!!), take notes and listen to what he has to say, you will not fail.
Good Professor who truly wants his students to learn. He really likes for students to participate, however I made an A without ever joining in the class discussion because I am kinda shy. The only grades are the workbook assignments and the papers. The key to getting a good grade is taking good notes over the lecture and using that in the papers.
I hated him his requirements for the papers are ridiculous even if you meet the requirements he tells you don't meet requirements and downgrades you. He doesn't tell you how you violated the requirements. He never really answers your questions and can be very offensive.
I took professor Abel for political science 141. Personally, I thought he was a good lecturer but when it came to work he was unorganized and was not helpful. We never took test which was good but bad at the same time. Our test were essays and he graded very hard on the essays.
Save yourself the headache. If you can find another Political Science teacher, don't take Mr. Abel. He is very rude. His essays are unlike anything I have ever had to write before! 2 page, no spaces, size 11 font. He has no sympathy towards you or your grade. If he doesn't agree with your paper, he has no problem giving you a zero. STAY AWAY!
Save yourself the headache and find another PoliSci prof. I got a zero on a paper because I put spaces between my paragraphs!! You don't know when he is going to assign them so you better not miss a class, if you do he will not tell you what the paper is over, that's how I failed the previous paper. Worthless, I did not learn anything.
I don't recommend him. His papers are impossible to do well on. His quizzes and lectures aren't hard and I really enjoyed how much class discussion there was but his papers are crazy. 11 pt font, single spaced, two full pages. I got a 75 on one because I put my name at the top. SILLY! He seems like a nice guy but he grades to harsh on his papers.
Knowledgeable teacher, has great discussions. That said, his papers are stupid hard, he grades harshly, doesn't give clear due dates and instructions, grades harshly on papers. He makes an easy class easy to fail. If you aren't an "A" student, find a different prof
Do not take this class with this professor. He doesn't answer emails, doesn't show up for office hours and is not helpful at all. He does not care. If you are not an "A" student you should run from this prof.
Dr. Abel is one of the best professors I've ever had. He is funny and intelligent and keeps up a class discussion. Homework done in workbook. He assigns two papers9mid-term & final) that the syllabus explains and he will review them and tell you what to correct . He is not biased and will not tell you his political opinions.
Yes, Dr Abel is the hardest professor I have ever taken. Be able to defend your beliefs or political ties because he can and will rip them apart. His papers are not easy to write, but if you pay attention in class and actually participate you will learn more than you ever though possible. He is a hard grader and unbiased, so go to class and do work
He is probably one of the harshest graders when it comes to essays. I have multiple people look over my papers and the things he tells us to write about and we'll revise until it's A+ quality... and I still get 78s. I've never made a C in my life and rarely make Bs but I can almost count on getting a C for this class. He's way too hard on essays
This professor doesn't give actual work, he gives papers occasionally. His lectures follow no structure at all, the syllabus is useless. Basically it's all youtube videos and discussions that are all opinion and don't apply to the stuff you're supposed to be covering. Be prepared for him to just give you a failing grade because he doesn't like you.
You won't learn anything that you are suppose to the entire class is like a speech and debate tournament.
THE WORST PERSON I HAVE MET IN MY LIFE! Gave me a zero on a paper because he didn't like the way I set it up or my topic. But he let us choose our own topic and didn't give us a length. He takes participation grades in his debates (doesn't actually teach anything), be careful how you voice your opinion, he called me ignorant in front of the class.
Class is disscusion based, must speak to get good grade. All quizes are from readings and the readings are LONG AND BORING. not an easy A. He always seems to spin the disscusion back to what he thinks. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS, I REPEAT DO NOT TAKE!!!!!!!
The class revolves around what is most of the time, pointless discussions. Once you get to the papers, don't expect to pass them. I went and talked to him about what he wanted exactly and I wrote about what he wanted and he still gave me an F. Do yourself a favor and avoid this professor.
I love this class. Political Science is a difficult subject to understand, that's why so many people fail. The quizzes are easy, the workbook assignment is easy, and yes the essays are tough, but if you want an A, then work for it. Take this class if you want to open your eyes to different opinions about politics.
Abel assumes you comprehend what he is thinking in his head without saying it out loud. His essay assignments are NOT meant for a starting course, he will assume you know all the basics when.... his class is supposed to teach you the basics and make sure you understand, but I was lost throughout the entire course. DO NOT take his course!!!!!!!!!!!!
I don't understand why people are complaining about Dr. Abel. "He made me write a 2 PAGE PAPER!" ... and? Welcome to university. Also, he says on the first day of class that he take s a contrary opinion to whatever case you try to make. Anyone who claims that's bias is just upset that they had their opinions challenged. Be prepared to think.
I was lost the entire class. He doesn't explain the material well at all and then expects you to be an expert on it. The class is pretty much a discussion that is irrelevant to the material. He assigns two papers, which count as the midterm and final, and they're impossible because you don't learn anything. He's nice and means well, but avoid him.
Class discussions had nothing to do with what was on quizzes or essays (never quite knew what to expect of quizzes). Discussions often went to unnecessary places that made students uncomfortable. He wants you to step outside of your comfort zone and that's okay! But it's only okay if it's actually relevant to political science...
His class is bulked with information so just be ready to write down a lot of stuff. Class discussions go off topic but YOU MUST PARTICIPATE. He gives half a grade just for talking in class. Lots of papers and lots of reading - quizzes are hard if you don't read the correct material. Pay attention.
Class every day might as well have been a debate class. He talks about subjects that make a lot of people uncomfortable. Nothing to do with political science at all. The quizzes are impossible to pass because the notes have nothing to do with what they are over.
I absolutely love Dr. Abel! He challenges you to think about your political views from every possible angle. He isn't one of the professors to try and change your opinion though; he just loves to play devil's advocate. I also love that participation is a major grade in his class!
He teaches in a very interesting way and manages to draw the entire class into a discussion. However, he assigned reading reports due every two weeks and went very quickly on his powerpoints. If you study your notes and keep up with reading you will be ok, but he does have a tendency to tell you to study things and then they are not on the test.
I took Dr. Abel my first semester and he's great! His lectures take up the full amount of time in class, he gives homework due at least one day a week based on readings from the book. The homework is always going to be an essay over chapters and a lot of times if you make a bad grade he'll let you correct. You don't have to show up but you should.
This professor is awful. His lecture are nothing like what you would expect in a Political science class. It's more like a debate. The notes that you take in class are no help. studying for the "tests" are pointless because nothing that he tells you to study is on it. DO NOT TAKE THIS CLASS
One of the absolute worst professors. His class is absolutely useless as he teaches next to nothing, choosing instead to just have class discussion over nonsensical topics such as "what the holocaust might have been like if Jews were robots." I gave up on going to class and just showed up for tests. Don't bother studying, they're random. DON'T TAKE
Loved his class!! Makes class very entertaining! Its easy to make a good grade if you write your papers and pay attention in class and take notes! Its more of a debate class than a political science class! I would highly recommend taking him!
I liked his class a lot. There's no way to fail. His lectures are full on debates. You have to keep up with assignments and due dates yourself tho. Groups quizzes.
No way to fail this class as long as you do the bare minimum. You take the test as a group afterwards and both tests are graded equally, I failed every single test but passed the class with an A. A lot of the work book answers you can find online. Hardest thing in this class is the book responses but even those aren't that hard, just make them long
Professor Abel is one of the best professors I've ever had. Poli Sci 141 is not an easy class and you will have to work for your grade, but you will also enjoy this class as well. His lectures are more like debates and he generously gives points for participation, so don't be afraid to speak up! Highly recommend taking a class with Professor Abel.
Do your assignments, show up to his office hours when you have a paper, participate in class, and pretty much you will get an easy A. Most of his lectures are very debate driven and it's hard not to participate.
If you are already on the edge I recommend for you NOT to take this class!!!! You can be in his office 24-7 & show that you are a caring student.. HE DON'T CARE! He email back so slow!! He expect you to be on time everyday not caring if its an emergency! I saw his rates before & thought i'll be able to hang and no I regret that ! DONT DO IT!!
THE worst professor I have ever encountered. It is absolutely impossible to reach him by email- I've sent 3 on the same topic, & yet I don't ever get a reply. I go up to him in class & he tells me to email him. He makes you write a paper on Brock Turner (it has nothing to do with poli sci), which triggered me & he didn't care/help when I told him
Professor Abel is one of the best professors I've ever taken. He is strict and demands participation within his lectures. The amount of work isn't too bad, and he grades easily. His class consist of debates over controversial issues, which helps me learn. He is pretty funny, too. I went to his office once, and he is much nicer one on one.
If you want an A, attend his office hours. Super smart guy. The people who fail the papers don't attend his office hours. Quizzes over readings. He gives extra credit for participating in class discussions; he takes the contrary on every opinion, which helps you think better. Be careful though because he's capable of shredding your beliefs apart.
He has been the LEAST helpful professor I have had here at SFA. Ask him for help? You can forget it. He is rude, condescending, and down right does not care about you or your GPA. You will get a 0 on an assignment you COMPLETED if he doesn't like the way you did it, and refuses to help you fix anything. DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS.
This is by FAR the WORST professor SFA has to offer. He does not care about you or anyone else you could have a 59.99 and have an extra 3 points over the limit and he will NOT give it to you because I dont allow you to exceed the maximum. He puts a cap on you and doesnt allow you to over achieve or do more than expected. he does not care.
I took his class for PSC 141 and one of the worst professors I have ever had. He wont help you if you dont debate in his class. He is a smart ass and not straightforward. If you go to his office hours it seems like its a inconvenience to him. The essays he gives are impossible to pass and he wont help you with it.
Honestly the worst professor Ive ever had so far. He is a horrible communicator and is very rude to his students. He also changes due dates and cancels class at random without telling you. Essays are the absolute worst. He gives very vague and hard to understand essay topics and grades brutally. I wouldnt recommend his class to anyone.
Abels a good prof. The recent comments are pretty ignorant. I struggled so hard on the paper as well but then went to his office hours then got a 100. He. Will. Help. I. Promise. Give him a chance. Not an easy A class, but then again, no college class is supposed to be. I got an A in his class because i worked very hard for it. You should, too.
Don't get me wrong, he knows what he's talking about, but he's just not a good professor for me. The lectures can be very discussion heavy and not something I am always comfortable with. He seems scary to talk to, but he will help you if you try. If you're serious about political science, he is the perfect teacher for you, just be ready to work.
This isn't a normal polisci class, it's more theory based than facts and memorization. The only thing I can recommend is to take notes in class and literally go to every single class. There's no way you can pass this class without going to lecture. But he makes the lecture so interesting and discussion based the time flies by.
This class stressed me out so much- I had to drop because it would of brought down my GPA. Professor Abel is a nice guy but he goes off on rants and discusses nothing relevant to the lesson, then expects you to take a test over what the lecture. Hardest class I've taken and over half my class dropped within the first month.
Honestly, get ready to fall asleep, this class is super boring and confusing if you don't naturally excel in political science. You will have to work for your A. Definitely talk in class.
I personally have never been one excel in a political science class, but I have never struggled THIS MUCH. His lectures are more like discussions, and if you're like me and keep your opinions closeted then this class will put you to sleep. More than half the class dropped, and only like 10 people show up when there isn't a quiz. Not the best class.
I really did not like his style of teaching. His power points are LONG and VERY information heavy. But for a lot of the time that we're in class I feel like he wastes a good majority of our time. He asks for our opinion a lot. He is also very strict on rules. There are no tests, there are only quizzes that are 60% of the entire class grade.
This was at first an interesting class even though everything sounded absurd. The entire class was discussion based but there was very little chance that a student would ever say anything he agreed with or considered correct. He graded his papers harshly without explaining what was wrong with the paper in the first place.
This professor is honestly awful. He makes inappropriate comments in class and drags down anyone he disagrees with. He will bring up super controversial issues, so if your super set in your political ways just know he will test you in class discussions. Its hard to tell if he believe everything hes saying or if hes just stirring the pot but its bad
No tests just a big easy paper. Lots of quizzes that are hard but you take the same quiz as a group. attendance is not mandatory but he will give points for participation. The only time you will see his slides is in class he doesn't post them online although there is outside reading you have to do.
I wont say hes bad but the issue is he doesnt actually teach. He uploaded things online to read and then we had a quiz. We did not interact with other students online or have any major writing assignments. It was really a waste when it comes to learning. He also thought a lot of his opinions rather than stick to the facts.
Not compassionate at all, hard to understand lectures, will not answer questions directly. I stopped going to class at one point and had been gone for so long I didnt know i was in the wrong room til i didnt see his decrepit self. I would never take his class again even if my life depended on it.
Sends all of the quizzes and notes at the beginning of the semester and all you have to do is take his quizzes. The only problem is, he does not take the highest grade on the quizzes. He takes the average of both of your quizzes so even if you make an A, if youve already made an F on one attempt you will have a D or a C. Kind of annoying.
worst professor i've had. In his online class, he post all notes and quizzes at the beginning and just says to complete them by the end of the semester. he takes the average of two attempts and his quizzes don't really match up to his notes. you can tell him that it says one thing in the notes but something else in the quizzes, and he will not care
This class is an easy A. For each module there is a quiz to follow, not all questions will be from his lecture. He takes the best grade out of two or three attempts. There is only a midterm and final which are quite easy, and you can work at your own pace in this course. Slow putting in midterm and final grades, but overall an easy class.
Dr. Abel was great but literally this is a self instructed course he has the modules up from 2020 and you complete them and take quizzes you have 45 min and can look up the answers and he lets you retake quizzes up to three times. beware the questions can be tricky
Had him for CRIJ 3303 Criminal Law. The lectures are actually discussions that get off-topic from the cases we were supposed to talk about. He likes to "experiments" or ask our opinions of certain cases/situations, then justify by asking why we believe that and tell us passively that we are wrong.
This class is an easy A. The class is a self paced class all the material are in the module. As long as you read each module and take the quiz you will pass the class. There are 12 quizzes, 1 midterm, and 1 final. Each quiz or test gives you a second chance to take it.
Even in his online class, you are bombarded with his beliefs. He has put little effort into the course, there are so many typos that it became distracting, and the calendar he provided was wrong(causing me to scramble to finish the class on time). The fact that he gets paid for "teaching" this class is wild. It was not hard, just frustratingly bad.
Professor Abel's self-paced GOV2305 class is an easy A if you stay on top of the quizzes. Unstuck ai and the free textbook were helpful for me to prepare. Just complete the modules and don't miss the midterm or final.
Worst professor I have ever had. Took him for Federal Government; instead, he taught Political Science. He bombards you with his political beliefs and tries to convert all his students to Pragmatists. FRQ is always about pragmatic views and the Machiavellian cycle. If he disagrees with one part of your FRQ, he will give you a 0. He needs to retire.
