BAD!!!! Not very helpful or willingto help after class. Dropped his class and do not recommend him.
This is the cutes professor I've had. Definetly helpful and funny. Somewhat scary at first, but is a real down to earth person.
This guy is a true prof., he tells you what to do and as adults, expects you to go do it. He tells you at the begiinig of class about supplements and times he IS available. If you pay attention and are willing to work, you'll be fine.
This was possibly the worst professor I had. convoluted explanations and lackluster teaching style olny worsened the experience. I am in Calculus 1 now in SPITE of him, not because of him.
Very nice personality..and willingness to teach the subject correctly
He is really tough and expects you to act like an adult, be a self-starter, and DO THE WORK! I thought he was hard, but I did learn a lot from him and just about math! I worked hard and got an A. Don't take him if you need a babysitter! He is HOT!
He seems to be very cool. He is a cutie pie. So far he seems to be very laid back, but expects you to do your work. I believe if you do the work you will get a good grade.
He is a very fast paced teacher. Do not talk in class. He can not stand that. If you pay attentioon you will pass. Do all your work as well.
HE IS A VERY NO NONSENSE TEACHER. HE IS STERN AND VERY ORGANIZED. WHICH MAKES'S IT EASY TO FOCUS IN HIS CLASS
He's kind of dry but, he's helpful! Just don't talk in class and you'll be okay! But it's not hard work if you pay attention! He seems like he doesn't have an outside life because he's very tactful. But he's still cool.
Very good teacher. You must do the work in his class if you want to pass. I am trying real hard and he has been very helpful.
THIS HAS TO HAVE BEEN THE WORST TEACHER I HAD EVER HAD IN MY TWO YEARS HERE!HE FAILED ME IN THIS CLASS AFTER SAYING I WOULD PASS. I DON'T LIKE HIM AND IS NOT SOMEONE I WOULD RECOMMAND TO OTHER NOT AT ALL!AND CUTE I DON'T THINK SO A EYE SORE!
pro. aybar is one of the most unclear professors at fccj. he acts like he does not enjoy his job. he is very direct and does not allow you to ask questions i would not recommend him to my worst enemy.
Professor Aybar is definately a no noncense kind of guy and at times it can be difficult but he is very straight forward with NO LIFE he definately made alot of since out of basic math but I would not recommend him for Elem. or higher he makes it clear that he is even harder and dont give help.
Great teacher. I would take him for all my math's if I could. Very clear and has a great teaching method!
Very structured class time; no foolin'. He is dedicated to keeping a set pace. If you need hand holding, class time is not the place; however, during office hours expect to be treated in a manner conductive for learning. This professor cares about student success only if the student is serious.
His techniques are very effective, yet, too advanced. Don't take him if math is your weakness.
I had a hard time with AYBAr at forst, but if you listen and do your work you should pass. He is fast paced and to the point. His teaching skills are awesome. I have talked to him outside of class about family issues and he has been helpful and understanding. He is a wonderful teacher.
I took Aybars Elementary Algebra class after being out of school for 15 years and with very weak math skills. I made an A in his class. He is a great professor and explained everything so that I could understand it properly.
He was very hard at first, but I think it was to weed out the people that did not want to apply themselves. I had been out of math for a very long time before taking his class. He was a hard teacher, but it has made it a lot easier for me in the long run. I got an A in his class!!! I would recommend
THIS GUY NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN.. HARD TO UNDERSTAND AT TIMES. THIS IS MATH, NOT THE MILITARY. IF MATH IS EVEN A SLIGHT PROBLEM, STAY AWAY.
I thought at first that this was not the teacher for me, because he is very hard on people and doesn't act human. but once he gets the students out that are not going to try he is a wonderful teacher. if i hadn't had him, i wouldn't be flying through intermediate.
I am currently taking Aybar and I'm keeping up an A. He is a no nonsense teacher, but very clear and precise.Keep up your attendence, study, pay attention and you'll be fine. Good teacher-a little "mad at the world", but I don't plan on being friends with him after this so who cares.
Mr. Aybar, although very smart in math, he is unhelpful to us who struggle. He doesn't think twice about demoralizing you in front of the class either. After I asked him a "Basic" math question he totally threw me under the bus. I was so embarrassed that I packed my stuff and left.
This guy is the math teacher a person wants. From the get go he taught the easiest way to get the answers and didn't dwell on excess stuff. He was very fair in letting people make up tests and homework and I myself got an A in his class easy!
His class is not fun. Every week there is a test and thats not good if you are not good at math.
If you stick with it through the final, all your hard work will pay off. His class makes the final seem really easy.

THIS IS THE BEST MATH TEACHER BETWEEN SJRCC AND FCCJ. I TOOK HIM TO START AND THEN TRIED TO GO BACK TO SJRCC AND TAKE THE REST WITH 2 OTHER TEACHERS AND COULDNT DO IT. THIS TEACHER IS GREAT! IM GOING BACK TO SPEND ANOTHER YEAR WITH HIM IN MATH :o) HE GETS TO THE POINT, AND TEACHES WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW AND HOW TO LEARN IT. HES RUFF SO BEWARE!!!

I respect this professor. He lets all the slackers know that they do not belong. He is ruff, but if you really want to be there, and are dedicated you will not have any problems. Best advice....STAY ON TOP OF IT, do your homework, and be prepared for class!

Good teaching techniques
he is rude and does not care about his students. he once gave me a 0 on a homework assignment because i had to leave to pick up my child and i had a B in the class. he thinks you should already know this stuff. But why do they offer this class if we should already know it.
He is very to the point. But he really explains the information. But when I had him he chose a book that was combined with disc, that we didn't need and you could not buy it used or sell it back. THAT SUCKED!
wow this guy sux hardcore, if you ever take him you will want to kill yourself.
I already hated math and to have him was the worse thing ever. He is a BIG A@#. I passed his class, but no thanks to him. I understood his work though, but he was not understanding of his students situation and was not helpful to a sertain extent.
i took him last term he is so rude my class started out with 23 students and ended with 8 most left because of his coldness and because he acted like this was something we should already know he is not very helpful if you have a short temper DON'T TAKE HIM
Awesome teacher. He knows his math and is very helpful. The people who give him a bad rating are just lazy. Keep you mouth shut and pay attention and you will do fine!!!
Aybar was the best math teacher I ever had. If you do all you homework and pay attention you wil get an "A"!!! Also, Keep you big mouths shut. This is not a social gathering, it is a room to learn. He is fun and has a funny sense of humor.
Obviously Professor Aybar gave the students extra credit for posting positive things about him. He was short, not helpful, and would not stop to explain the material! So glad I swapped professors!
Mr. Aybar is a skilled and thorough instructor. I was a returning student of well past high school age and he completely re-wired my math brain. Since taking his courses in MAT0001 and MAT0003 I have only made As in my math classes all the way through College Algebra & Introduction to Probability. He has a tough demeanor but is very systematic.
He will like you if you can do the work. If you need help he is not willing to give it to you in class, you must see him one on one. He is very nice one on one but very scary in the class. He acts as if you should know how to do the work and he goes way too fast and will not slow down even if you and the rest of the class ask him too.
He is very militant. But, you know what to epect from him everyday. It is better to know what to expect than wonder about his mood that day. Very good instructor and helpful->outside of class. Do you hw, show up on time, and you will get an A. Defer from that and you are setting urself up for failure.
He is a good teacher... he gets straight to the point. Which i like! As long as you listen and take notes, and do your homework you should have no problem passing the class.
best math teacher hands down. he is very intimidating and not really a people person but he is such a great teacher. very clear and straight to the point.
very stern and gets right down to buisness. has no time for anybody who doesn't want to learn. you will get jerked around this class if you are a slacker. his explination are generally always clear and easy to follow. out of the math teacher i've had he's the best.
the guy is a dick! If you ask the person next to you a question, he will threeaten to call security! Quizes every week! he moves WAY too quickly!! not the professor for you unless your REALLY good at math!!
he is a jerk, he can teach well, but he moves real fast and talks to you like your in elementary school. I would not get him....take MR. FONE!
Not happy at all with this professor. Rushes through the material and acts as if you are already supposed to know the material! Would not recommend this professor unless you have some background in mathematics already.
I am sure Mr. Aybar has some good qualities. However, teaching and people skills are not one of them. He is extremely abrasive and seems to always talk down to everyone in his class. Very Arrogant! My hope is that students will not let this teacher discourage them. There are some other wonderful professors out there (Pender and Downing).
great person one on one, class is hard to enjoy because he is so "to the point" at the end of the semester when most people have dropped the class he is much nicer and will give the class a little slack. Overall all he is a great teacher do your homework and be ready for a test each week, if you fail the test make sure you go back over what you fa
AWESOME TEACHER!!!!! College classrooms are not for talking, but for listening. he does not move too fast, you are not doing your homework. If you do your work, all will become easy. LISTEN!!! That is the key work you lazy loosers!
He is very arrogant. He goes to fast, I was still writing the previous problem while he'd moved on to the next. Not friendly at all! He yelled at me for getting up and asking him for some more scrap paper during a quiz. He also has sworn in class-"Jesus Christ, if you people are unable to work with fractions, you shouldn't be in college."
GOOD TEACHER WILL LEARN A LOT HOWEVER, NOT A EASY A, BUT YOU WILL LEARN

Good instructor, very strict toward interruptions during class. Do your homework and listen.
Very Arrogant. If you have even the slightest problem in math, don't take this class. Very rude. doesn't make eye contact with students EVER. He argues with students and answers his cell phone in the middle of class. He will rarely answer student's questions, and when he does, he doesn't seem to understand the question. easy math, difficult teacher
Prof. Aybar is a good teacher overall. He does not like to take a lot of time to answer individual questions, but he explains his lessons very thoroughly and knows what he is talking about. I would reccomend him for anyone who does not need things explained more than a few times.
Not a good teacher. All he does is come in, collect homework, and assign more work. I don not have a problem doing work, but he doesn't teach. He says this is your assignment and if do not understand it go to the math lab. Then he just walks out. Why did I pay for this?
He is a good techer if you know what you are doing. However if you actually need the class because you have no clue what you are doing you are out of luck. He is very teacher .... teacher almost as if he has no interest in helping students that really need the class. I would never take any of his classes again...
He's a good teacher, knows what he's talking about, but doesn't know how to teach it. He doesn't talk to the class, he talks at us. Very little eye contact, if any at all. He has VERY dry humor. I learned a little through his class, but would NOT recommend anyone that doesn't know anything about math to take him..I'm not takin him for Intermediate
He is very concise, but demanding. He will help you if you need it.
I used to love math untill i had this horrid man. Very dry humor, writes on the board a mile a minute rambles, lacks in explaintions, quizes every week, home works suck. Worse Prfo Ever.
Very Awesome. Just pay attention, DO NOT talk in classrrom. If you listen, do your homework, you will do fine. Very helpful after class. Best math teacher ever. He does go fast, but take notes and ask later. I got an A!!!
He is not a people person but he is an outstanding teacher. He is very through when evaluating math problems.
AS long as you pay attention and do the homework class is easy. He is very helpful if you meet with him after class
Best Math teacher ever. Do not talk in class and you will do fine. He is fast paced, but will help you whenever you need him. Take notes and do your homework and you will get an A!
There is only one word for this man: ****. He is a very bad teacher. He knows what he is talking about, but doesn't know how to teach it. He talks to the walls, not to the class. He makes fun of you for asking questions. His jokes, not funny. Not a people person at ALL. I do not recommend this teacher one bit!
This professor sucks his class is really hard. you ask him a question he replies with "this is simple math" ah duhh if it was simple im sure we wouldnt be in elementary algebra!
Professor Ayabar helped me with this Elementary Algebra course. I agree with a lot of the other posts but his main objective was to teach the class. He is sarcastic in nature but don't take it personal. If you came to class with the idea of learning in mind, you did well. Do your work, don't be late and you will do fine. I made an A.
He was not helpful at all. Refused to answer questions often. Not a very likable man. I dont recommend him to anyone needing help, such as I did. needless to say he failed me.
he is a totally tool. i spent over $500 for that class to learn, not for every class period to be lectured to about how i don't have to be there if i don't want to be. he needs to get the idea out of his head that he's there to "help" us, he's there because we paid for it and want to be there. he's rude and arrogant. don't waste your time with him.
I have to admit this professor is a no-nonsense guy, but it works for him. If you actually pay attention, you'll learn math and learn it well. His style of teaching came as a surprise, but it works well. You can tell he's into math. Make sure you listen and take notes, do your homework...he goes over it every class.
THIS GUY NEEDS TO SLOW DOWN.. HARD TO UNDERSTAND AT TIMES. THIS IS MATH, NOT THE MILITARY. IF MATH IS EVEN A SLIGHT PROBLEM, STAY AWAY.
Man...whoever said this professor is hard just is'nt doing the work. Prof. Aybar is one of the best professors. His teachings were crystal clear to me & if you had any questions on anything he was glad to help. I made an A in his class!! I recommend this professor to anyone who is serious about their education!
This Professor was okay but not the best. He teaches way too fast. but if you ask him a question he will be glad to help. i dont recomment this teacher to anyone who has trouble in math. i recommend this class to someone who is good at math. in class its hard to catch on but if you are good in math then you will succeed in this class.
He is great, Everything spelled out on the board, not too much homework and test are from homework. Test are short and fairly easy. I hate math and helped me a lot.
Moves very quickly through work. Sometimes says things to cut down class, and talks very fast. I do not reccomend if you ahve trouble in math. Only a few homeworks, and test have like 10 questions, so its easy to fail.
I did not enjoy this prefessor. He moves at the speed of light. He will call you out in front of the whole class, doesn't treat u like ur an adult, instead a child. He is the anti christ in my opinion
this was my second time taking this class passed with an A b/c Professor Abyar knows how to explain things. yes he does make downgrading remarks sometimes but if you show you want your grade you got a good chance of passing.
HE is extremly helpful and explains in a way that makes sense.
This teacher is horrible. He does not like to answer questions or treat you with any respect whatsoever, he runs his class like a 9th grade class, with ridiculous rules to follow. When I went for help at his office hours, he continuiously was not even there. I would no recommend him unless you can teach yourself the math.
Though Professor Aybar doesn't have an exceptional personality, he is a great teacher. If you come to class, pay attention, and do the labs/optional homework, there is no reason for you to make less than a 'B' in his class.
This teacher is alright. I got an A in his class though. He goes really quick when teaching you really must attend every class because if you don't you will fall behind. He will teach one chapter and the next day test you on it. Final exam was really easy i got an A on that also. Just come to class.
For a man who constantly claims he "doesnt have to be there" why have you been there for 20 years. I am not a child and dont need or want to be treated like one. If you are doing your work he still will make you feel like an idiot. I do not recommend this class to anyone other than those who are on the same level as this unprofessional man. FCCJ re
ONLY TEACHES THINGS ONCE. doesnt not plan to help you at all but he is good at teaching it once. HE IS VERY CHILDISH and loves to make fun of you alot, making you feel like a idiot. NO CALCULATORS and plans you to now the SQUARE ROOT OF 734534 divided by 6.60. lol
He is awsome. He is does not like talking or cell phones. If you need help he is there. His tests are easy. You have a lab and then your test. You have to come to class. When you are done your exit exam will be easy.
Prof Aybar was ok, but if you are having any trouble in Algebra, I dont recommend taking him. He goes WAY TOO FAST to kep up. If you are having trouble in Math, you need to work with a tutor EVERY DAY if you take this teacher. I sometimes chuckled to myself when he would go so fast because he lost me on the first line. It was a joke.
He will mark an answer wrong even if you have it right, just because you got to the answer a different way. (A way my tutor showed me) He is extremely nitpicky on answers. All real #'s must be spelled out. NUMBERS, or you will get it wrong. If you struggle in Algebra, don't take him. He teaches WAY TOO FAST. Take Pender, he is great.
Professor Abyar was great at mathematics, he just is not that great at teaching math. I would recommend him to someone who is alredy strong in math, since he moves quickly and you must keep up with the pace in order to get a passing grade.
Boring but easy.
He explains mathematics throughly. Will stay after every class if you need extra help. Labs and quizzes given every class but only 10 questions and very easy.
he is very very fast.if math is not your thing and you are starting school after so many years....iwarned you to stay away.if you like a challenge take the class, take it over if you have to.you will understand math once and for all..all math.
Mr. aybar is a good teacher. He is very helpful, but his class is very fast. Doing the practice problems {which is considered as homework}, and the Labs prepare you for the quizzes and the tests, which are given weekly.
He is rude! He dont care if you pass or not. Dont ask questions or he makes you feel stupid! Very Fast Class. Labs and homework was easy A's. But do not take him!
Prof. Aybar is fantastic. He is dedicated. Extremely helpful. Doesn't stop the entire class because one person isn't doing what they should. No one that does the work, uses ALL resources, and comes to him for extra help will do poorly. ONLY those that don't do what they are supposed to do do poorly. I have never had a teacher so incredibly helpful!
Before I took his class I read about him, and was nervous b/c of wat everyone said, but I dont agree. He explains things very well and is open to answering questions. He gives you many different ways of getting help. I easily made an A make sure you attend class and do the labs/homework. He is a little corny with his jokes but still good at his job.
He teaches the easiest way to solve a problem and is very helpful.
Had professor Aybar for basic mathmatics and elementary algebra a few years ago. He is the best at teaching the fundamentals and helping you build a strong mathmatical foundation. I am now in calculus II and have made no less than an A in any of my math classes. Thanks professor Aybar!
PROFESSOR AYBAR IS SO AMAZING. FUNNY, SENSE OF HUMOR AND TEACHES OLD SCHOOL. PAPER HOMEWORK! GREAT PERSON.
He comes off as a hard ball at first. Gut through the first few classes and he becomes very friendly and helpful. He is in his posted office hours. I would take more classes if he offered.
i took him for summer term and we did a quiz twice a week pretty helpful, if u havent been in school for a while dont take him he goes super fats but if you are fresh out of school you will do fine
If you study hard and follow his advice then you will do well if not good luck.
I'm glad I took Aybar for Elementary Algebra even though I struggled a bit at first. He talks very fast, but is willing to repeat it if need be. His quizzes and tests are VERY HARD, I highly recommend having a study partner or group to help each other with homework, quizzes, and tests it will help greatly in the long run!
We do all of our class work, test and homework on coursecompass. Hes basically there just to go over what you dont understand. Attendance is a MUST. You can complete the course at any rate you want, besides slower than the due dates. Hes not a bad teacher, but he does go fast when he is explaining things.
He was an over all good teacher and extremely helpful to those on course or ahead. I have told a few people to take his classes for math. He is extremely willing to help if you put in the effort.
he has a very bad attitude.if you need help he is pretty much useless.i am now retaking this course with a different prof. and i guarantee you i will pass it this time.
The best math teacher I have ever had. I wish I could have him for the rest of my math classes. Very very helpful. I recommend!
Very good professor! Like others have said though, he talks a bit fast, but will always go back over things if you ask. He's very helpful and encouraging to his students and is good at explaining things. I highly recommend him!
He is horrible. Im telling you now, you will barely slide by, if you do pass. At the end of the semester i took my exit exam and he told me i passed, but two days later i had to find out threw the computer i didn't. He lied to me and then told me there was nothing he could do for me.
He is a very good professor. He is the first math teacher i have had and have actually been able to maintain a passing grade in. Yes he can talk a little fast sometimes but if you have any questions he will help you.
He is a very good professor. He is the first math teacher i have had and have actually been able to maintain a passing grade in. Yes he can talk a little fast sometimes but if you have any questions he will help you.
I took his Elementary Algebra class he was very easy to follow. Attendance is a must!
Professor.Aybar is an asset to college math!! he is concise, very clear about what is expected throughout the course. he genuinely wants to see every student succeed in his class, he is very firm on attendance, but he will go out of his way to help you!, I would recommend Professor. Aybar to anyone needing Basic Math!!!
I did not like professor Aybar at all. He is very difficult to follow when he lectures and he acts like its a burden when you need help with something. So be prepared to work a lot on your own. If you have the option to pick someone else, please do, for your own good
Very helpful. Very interactive and has an upbeat personality that engages everyone to pay attention and learn what he has to teach. I would Definitely recommend this Professor.
I took him after being out of school for over 15yrs. I enjoyed his class. He is very direct and doesnt waste time. Hes there to teach and we are there to learn. I was able to finish almost 6 weeks early with an A. DO THE WORK AND PAY ATTENTION IN CLASS.
He is strict but fair. He expects attendance. If you are willing to put forth the effort he is willing to help you make it. You earn the grade that you get.
I have a difficult time with Math. This professor is only for people who love math like he do. He teaches like he love it but not very helpful when you ask him how to do something he likes to say OH THAT'S EASY take your pencil and just do it, very fast and attempt to explain while doing it (very fast also) He lectures fast also.
Prof. Aybar is a great Math teacher. Will explain in detail on how to make the difficult to understand using simple steps. Always willing to help. DEMANDS ATTENDANCE!! Would strongly recommend for students that struggle with Math. Will look to take any of his classes in the future.
Professor Aybar is an amazing teacher. Very no nonsense and direct. I enjoyed his teaching style. He does move fast through lectures, but makes it so easy to understand. I have taken two of his classes and would take any more he teaches. He encourages you to do your best work and allowed opportunities to improve your scores in a timely manner.
I had Professor Aybar teach me Algebra around 10 years ago. I went astray after I found out he didn't teach College Algebra. He is the most helpful, dedicated professor I have ever met! I would recommend him to anyone that has ever struggled with math.
come to class, be on time act like an adult and you will be fine, he will call you out otherwise. He is arrogant, but he teaches well, the math class is on mathxl and all the homework and quizzes are done there. he teaches well and makes math fun
I thought Professor Aybar was great! You can tell he loves Math. He gets a little twinkle in his eye & lets out a maniacal giggle when talking about higher level math concepts. Cracked me up! Show up, pay attention, do the work & don't be afraid to ask him questions if you don't understand. Watch the videos on MathXL & go to FREE tutoring if needed
I read a few tags saying he wasn't a very good professor and after taking the class I most definitely do not agree. You can tell he really enjoys math and likes to teach it. If you do not understand something he will break it down again for you. If you don't ask he won't know you don't understand. he will spend extra time with you if needed.
I didn't like his class
I would not take him again!!!! He goes too fast, acts like he doesn't care, and makes funny about his test being hard for his class; also make funny comments about his students. SMH!!!!
He is straight to the point. Explains things really fast though so it makes it kind of hard if it's new material for you. I had an 8 week course so that alone is tough. A lot of work, quizzes, tests, exams every week! Do all your homework on time and you're good. It's all on MATHXL, lectures mostly in class. Answers questions if you ask
A Horrible Prof. I mean the worst. He is RUDE & could care less about passing his students. His lectures sound like they are just him teaching himself. He seems confused a lot. Please don't take this Prof. You will end u teaching yourself and That's not what we pay These Profs to do. I mean sure we study. However It is their job to teach the class.
I had his 8 week class which put a lot of assignments on me. It was a simple knowledge class therefore I could handle it. I had it MTWR and he would switch lecture one day to online assignments the next. Also he uses Pierson so if you already have an account less than a year old I suggest taking him. The hardest part of the class was the final
Aybar is a great professor in my opinion. If students are having problems with something, he will explain it again. He lets class out early on some days for students who needs individual help. Students can expect the professor to move a little fast, it is a 8 week. He is strict, but explains things in a fun way. I highly recommend, great profes
As long as you put the effort in his class he will work with you. BEST math teacher to help an older student relearning math for the 2nd time. MUST attend class.
If you have any trouble with math at all, find another professor! He goes way too fast, during lectures and if he's helping you individually with a problem. My husband had to reteach me each lesson at home, because I'd leave class completely lost. He isn't very nice, especially to people who show up late or miss class, but I guess that's expected.
Great professor. Show up to class he's an awesome lecturer.
I couldn't recommend a better professor, if you put in the time and work you'll pass his class. He goes fast in the lectures but explains the material clearly. During lab he'll help you work the problems out step by step.
Professor Aybar grows on you. At first, he seems as though he could care less whether you pass or not (but passing is significantly up to the student, really). However, if you are serious about passing the class and you come to class, put in the time, do the work, and utilize the math lab, he'll recognize all of that and he WILL help you succeed )
Professor Aybar's class was great. He's very helpful & willing to explain something to you until you understand it. I honestly thought I wasn't going to pass this class, but he helped me out tons. Come to class, do the work, & use the resources available to you & he'll help. I really enjoyed him as a professor because his lectures were never boring
I loved this class. He lays everything out to let you know what is expected. He will meet with you before or after class to help you understand anything you are having issues with. You have to put in the work to pass though. He will NOT go out of his way to help you. Those who reached out to him passed the class.
worst professor I have ever had. He spent the first day speaking to use about how he disciplines his kid, and babbled about all his achievements and how he "didn't NEED to be teaching" I learned nothing from him in the 2 days I attended his class, It blew my mind he was allowed to teach. I dropped the class.
Not a very good professor, I would not recommend him at all. He rushes through lessons and does not make time for one on one. He's not very friendly and expects us to know exactly what we are doing with the math without being helpful. Please do yourself a favor and choose a different professor.
He has no problem answering questions in class. He also has an open door policy during office hours. He tends to go fast but will only move forward if no one has a question
Yes he moves quickly but you have access to him all the time. He was in the math lab quite often before and after class, during my semester with him. He is blunt, if you dont ask, you want get a answer. Hes sarcastic, but funny to the right student.
Not bad guy, but not a great teacher. You really have to show up and pay attention to pass. You have online HW and quizzes due everyweek and 3 test. Test can be retaken though so that's a plus. Overall I struggled, and I didn't feel comfortable going back in to ask questions. If you are okay at math he's not a bad teacher, and its not a bad class.
Mr. Aybar is an okay teacher. He gives half of credit if he see you are on the right path when you take your quizzes and homework. He was very helpful throughout the 7 week class. One time he blew me off because he had another class but I understand, just didn't expect that from a teacher. Lots of homework, quizzes and test on MathXl so be prepared
This Professor is very tough, I will only recommend if you already know math and very good at it. If you aren't, please do not take him. He is very quick also.
Although he is pretty chill, expect to do tons of mathxl. He does not teach the material, you basically have to teach yourself. If you have trouble with math in general do not take his classes! He gives a worksheet for chapters and says we should already pretty much know how to do the problems(because of mathxl), whats the point of going to class?
After taking his class, math is no longer my fave subject. His teaching methods are unintelligible & students are nervous to ask questions. He grades carefully and will mark you wrong for silly technicalities. I had to teach myself trigonometry. He uses MathXL and tests are 60% of your grade, but allows RETAKES. Avoid this professor at your best!
Very unprofessional, rude, and lazy. I had to retake because he has his students teach themselves. I asked him to go further in detail since I wasnt understanding and he told me I mean I dont know, what you want me to say WHAT? PLEASE avoid this teacher. By the second and third class half of the students were gone. Take RuthDellinger instead.
He did not seem to care about his students and didn't care if they came to class. I purchased a book he listed in syllabus only find out it was not the book for the class I was taking. His comment was "I didn't write the syllabus and don't know how that got in there". I wasn't learning and forced to drop the class.
Pro Aybar is a very smart man with a lot of knowledge to give to people as he's been teaching for over 20 years. That said if you aren't an AP student already do not take his class. He expects his students to already be pretty smart and as such he will rush through the lessons like he has somthing more important anyways. I could of studied more too
Lectures were dry and would benefit from more back and forth engagement. I get it, it's math which is hard to make exciting. Beyond that, Mr. Aybar is a fair grader and is willing to provide further explanation on concepts and equations. No negative opinions.
Mr.Aybar is a nice professor who may be tired of people not asking questions. He says "Does anybody have any questions?" Multiple times.Nobody does. When I joined this class I was hopeful but I have Dyscalculia and The proctored testing sent me over the edge and its not even multiple choice. ALSO lady in the videos on pearson is so boring.
The lady from the videos was boring and test questions were different and harder. Contact him with questions and never had a response back.
The class consisted of homework + quizzes on mylab and three test can use study guide. Each topic is independent of another so the info from test1 would be no use for the others. Cons of the class is the professor, you have to teach yourself. If you pick his class, take advantage of his HW +quizzes being unlimited tries & test being two attempts.
Took College Algebra fully online so I never interacted with him besides 1 email. There are like 5-7 homework assignments each week plus a quiz or two. Proctored tests are nearly identical to the test review on Pearson and only like 25 questions. Tests are easier than the homework. Not a hard class just a lot of work.
one of the worst experiences I ever had in my life when it comes to student/teacher relationships he was lazy, unprofessional and a very snobby individual and he made me have the urge to drop out of college especially if i ever have a teacher like him again. 1 person out of 20 passed the class i was in... worst teacher on campus !!!!
Aybar is focused on covering material not ensuring u understand it. Lectures are rushed, no elaboration/clarification. Asks “Any questions?”after speeding thru topics, leaving students overwhelmed/confused to ask.Disinterested in teaching/interactions. Hard to approach for help. The lack of accessible explanations/support make the class difficult.
If you actually want to learn don't take this professor.Goes over things so fast and doesn't explain anything as he's saying it. Basically just solves the problem and doesn't tell you how. You need teach yourself the material he goes over in class. So much homework! Will take you hours for one assignment
This class caused so much stress in my life, if you can take another I would highly recommend it. The teacher was nice but the coursework was so exhausting that it got to points where I just wanted to give up. The class is so test heavy that it felt like the classwork was pointless even if you spent hours on it.
Lectures were hard to learn from, since he only does practice problems; I don't feel like we go over the content properly; when solving the examples he skips parts on how to solve. The amount of homework, without the use of other resources, will take hours to do and I really do mean HOURS, was quite demotivated. BUT at least u can take tests twice.
A useless teacher, he will offer no help or support. Won't even link helpful youtube videos. The homework load is intense, i'm talking 7-8 40+ question assignments a week, if you actually do them it takes forever. Despite the amount of homework, it's worth so little in comparison to tests it feels useless. No grading curves at all. Good luck.
