The material is easy and it was an easy A, however, the prof sucks. He is probably about the worst professor on campus. He does not teach at all. He gives you problems and expects you to learn how to do them yourself and the book you have is useless.
Get your money back....this gut is a loser and never holds lab. When he does it is unorganized
Terrible teacher hardest class I have had at Ferris doesn't care about his students is only here for a paycheck and guess what he's 10 year so he will be here till retirement.

Terrible teacher with no organization, abilty to teach or drive to help students learn. In his office for most of the class while you struggle.
Classic case of a professor on his high horse because of his apparent job security. My only advise would be to drop the course if you desire any instruction in regards to physics because this guy dosen't teach he just takes up space for a pay check.
The word is tenured - not 10yeared.
He is the worst physics teacher I could have expected. I never took physics.. and with his mindless bickering and non schallnt teaching methods.. you cannot learn from him.

Doesn't turn back the info. from lab, you will have no clue how you are doing in the class, his book sucks, he moves too fast...GOOD LUCK!!
he doesn't really tell you what needs to be turned in... he doesn't hand work back... therefore you don't really ever know your grade.

Worthless book, never there for his office hours, expects students to already know physics (it's an intro course), leaves lab and doesn't help or answer questions, takes upto 45 minutes to set up his computer for lecture....just to name a few things!!!
He's a nice guy and a good teacher, if you are willing to put the effort into learning.

Give me a break. Why don't you take some responsibility for your education? If you put the work in, you will do well. Maybe some non-traditional learning, but I loved his class
I think he has something extra in the cup he drinks out of during class. Hard to follow what is required to hand in and the lecture notes that must be purchased arent even in the right page numbers.
Took his class and he encouraged us to cheat so that he didn't have to teach. Was never in his office, left lab after 5 minutes and never came back, very very smary man but can't relay his knowledge.
I would rather give myself an enima with a rusty screwdriver than take his physics class again. When you ask a question, he speaks down to you, and makes you feel awkward. Why would Ferris employ this type of individual?
He just leaves lab all the time and expects you to learn EVERYTHING by yourself. Not to mention making you buy a 60 dollar book that he wrote and making you rip pages out so you cant resell it so that he can make more money on it.
His book, a cool $100, doesn't really teach you anything, it's basically just an assignment book. But he is a fair grader and there is extra credit. If you ask a question he will answer it candidly, just be prepared to do a LOT of independent study.

potentially the worst teacher i've ever had, he doesn't leacture, there is no text, accept the one he writes and that is just questions, no explanation. during the lab he actually leaves the room for most of the period, he leaves during class.

He is the most unorganized and unhelpful professor I have had so far at Ferris. He does not explain things at all and is a prik to boot.
He was helpful, but it was hard to learn with his teaching style.
have to put a lot of effort into his classes-helpful but won’t give you answers-take home tests-teaching style lends itself towards self motivated independent students rather than spoon fed regurgitation-good luck finding him outside of class
Bad professor
I felt that he was very helpful and knowledgable in the subject taught. friendly and happy to answer questions, also very intelligent. unique teaching styles but i enjoyed his teaching
He wrote his own manuel for the course, which sucks. Even other professors look at it and said what the hell does he expect from this. Its many questions,thats it. He even stop teaching the course in middle of semester, after everyone bought text.Rip off!

Great guy! He's a bit unorganized, and it's hard to get questions answered 'cause he wants you to find it your self. But,if you keep bugging him,and explain what part you don't understand, he'll help you figure out. ADVISE: ALWAYS go to class,stay on his good side,and he'll help you with everything!
He uses his own book which doesn't help you at all and he doesn't tell you anything that could actually help you to understand the material. You have to teach yourself and only then by getting your own real physics book to help you. The problems he gives you are extremely hard to understand and do.
This guy is a genius, smartest man on campus, but a little hard to comprehend.
very smart man, but can get ahead of you many times, ask as many questions as you can cause when you get behind, it is only going to get worse, keep up, and hopefully you'll get a C by just doing that.

The only people that think this guy is a bad teacher are the idiots who can't shut their mouths during class, and just people of low intelligence altogether. He's not the clearest and you might have to do some learning on your own, but he curves the class to no end. I never got more than half credit on the homework and still passed with a B+.
I was able to do well in his class, but it had little to do with his teaching. He doesnt follow his book and goes off on tangents about the subject. The homework does not relate to your notes, so it is difficult to do. I ended up with a 98% from doing online tutorials. On top of being a poor instructor, he also isn't clear about lab.

Personally, I loved having Professor Bacon as a teacher. If people have questions in class, he takes the time to go over every single one of them. His textbook if very good for explaining everything. He takes the material slowly and pushes back dates if more time needs to be spent on the subject. I wish he was teaching PHYS 212 too!

Horrible Teacher! I am retaking the class with another teacher just so I will be able to understand Physics! Talks to you like you already know the material. You can't look count on your book to help you...Because HE wrote it. I DO NOT recommend him!!
AWEFUL! he's the worst teacher i've ever had at Ferris! His textbook that he writes is completely pointless... I can't count how many times he was unable to show me how to figure something out, so instead he gave me the answer... Do us all a favor and resign from teaching this course!!
He does not teach and the online homework is rediculous, you do get to use a peice of paper on the exams with whatever you want written on it, but this isn't very helpful
JUST A HORRIBLE TEACHER!! Dont get me wrong, he is a nice guy but the worst teacher I have ever had. Unless you are extremely smart and dont mind a TON of homework then this is the class for you. I got an A+ in Honors physics my junior year in HS and the material was just as hard if not harder than in this course. Good luck if you get him!!

He is very hard. He don't do a good job teaching and he has online homework that is a lot harder then the stuff he teaches in class. If you have a question you have to be specific or else he won't help you. In lab he likes to leave a lot so if you have questions you have to wait for him to come back which makes the labs longer.
Take him. He is tough and you might get annoyed with how he teaches and how he returns things but his exams are really easy and remember to be in groups!
First thing, the textbook SUCKS it is his and is useless, except for the labs inside. Great guy, very friendly ...able to help but thats where it stops. Labs are mandatory.

relies way too much on the online program which doesnt teach you anything, you can easily get by with a B or B- without knowing much at all. Cancels labs and assigns online labs that are extremely vague and does not give barely any instruction at all. AVOID IF POSSIBLE
This professor can not teach, PERIOD. He uses the online text book website for teaching the entire class! No joke. The only way you will learn physics in this class is if you teach yourself. Which wouldn't be bad because then you wouldn't have to pay the $1000 for a class that doesn't teach you. Don't take this class even if u have to!!
Avoid him if you can. He knows his stuff, but nearly all the homework and the exams are online. The online stuff is vastly different from what he teaches. I got the stuff in class, but when it comes to the online junk, its a real struggle. He barely updates the grades either, so good luck knowing where you stand in his class.
Doesn't teach you anything. Lets the internet try to do it while he gets paid for nothing. Also requires that you buy his useless book. I would recommend taking the class with a different professor as that is what I'll have to do next semester since I'm failing right now.

He talks in class about physics, but nothing that will help us solve the problems. He gives almost no examples and we hardly use this textbook that he wrote himself. Plus he does all the work online (masteringphysics.com) and we have to pay to use it!
One of two of the worst instructors I have ever had. If you are taking the class right now you should go to the head of the Physics department and get your money back. If enough people did this maybe he would teach. I am retaking Physics right now to learn what I should have in his class. Not a bad class if you already know about Physics.
easiest physics class ever, all homework and tests are online. its all through masteringphysics.com so just google the question and you'll find how to do it. you get a week for the tests too. find a group and do all the assignments together. i wouldn't recommend if you actually need to learn physics, but it was a great gpa booster for me
Horrible prof, dont learn jack, you have to go to class for participation points, lots of useless problems on internet. Do yourself a favor and take this class at cc. If you do take his class dont buy his book such a rip off 80 bucks for a paper bound book that he made in his sandbox.

No direction or organization in this class whatsoever. This class you will not learn anything except for what you learn off of doing homework and tests in groups online so you can still get a good grade. But as far as what you will actually learn in class it will be nothing, he is so lost and unorganized in his lectures going to class does nothing.

as far as grade in this class, you should do fine if you work in groups, large groups. he does everything through an online program and he also doesnt care that you work with large groups... as far as the actual class, pointless, but sometimes he goes over problems directly from the hw. if you dont mind having a useless teacher, take the class.

Anybody know how to nominate someone for the worst teacher award? Seriously fire this guy, he doesn't teach. I DID learn from this class, but it was because of the hours i spent online. Rediculous class. DON'T TAKE
Relies way too much on the online content. You really have to search the online content to find your homework because there are so many different pages on the class website. I would not recommend.
Does not explain the concepts at all and the book he wrote is REQUIRED for class. His book is filled with rambling srrounding forumlas and then examples that do not even use the given formula and eachc hapter is roughly 3 pages in length. Makes you feel dumb if you ask for help and too many online pages to dig through for any help.
Truly a brilliant man but his tests are very difficult. If you study and know the material it will be easy. Tests are open note open book and there is usually a big curve for each test and on the final grades. Not that bad of a prof at all.

This Professor cant teach I transferred to Ferris for a better education and one of my first classes I get this. It appears as though he doesn't know the material well enough to teach it. Also no feedback on submitted assignments he just tells you which ones you got wrong no explanation. AVOID HIS ONLINE CLASS AT ALL COSTS
Should not be a teacher, currently failing his online class because he doesn't respond to any questions you have. His English skills are absolutely terrible. Never take his online class, he has you buy a useless book that he wrote. You learn more from searching online rather than his book. Gotta be perfect the first time cause there is no practice
I sent Dr. Bacon approximately 35 emails during the time I was taking Physics 2 concerning not clarified homework, tests and labs. He sent me back 3 emails back, all crap excuses why he messed up and DID NOT FIX THE PROBLEM.

If you want an easy A, take this class. I showed up to two lectures and half of the labs and still received an A. All the test and quizzes are online and are easy to pass even if you don't know physics. For those interested in learning physics, do not take him, but if you need to fill a science credit, take physical science and get an easy A
His lectures focus entirely on deriving equations and not necessarily the application of them. It almost feels like he's just talking to himself most of the time. The lectures are also done from his head, he does not use powerpoints. There is zero structure and he only talks about what he remembers to bring up. Take physics at a community college.

His lectures do not explain the actual equations or how to do them and you won't find explanations in the text either. essentially you have very little help on very difficult problems. His online class is horrid, people while PhDs can't even get through this work
You'll get an A but you'll have to sit through lectures that make little sense and frustrating labs where his directions are unclear and he on occasion will disappear for 20 minutes. He is out of touch with what students need. The good news - if you can use Google, you'll ace his exams.
The assignments are all online besides labs. He opens them all towards the middle of the semester. If you want them opened earlier so you can go at your own pace just ask.
Very good at teaching the content and explaining the concepts. Though he only goes over about 75% of what is on the exams/homework but you get infinite tries on the homework and 2 tries on each exam. This allows you to try it and then ask him questions in the next class period. He also is more than happy to help during his office hours.
Attendance is extra credit and the homework and tests are all online. You get unlimited tries on the homework and 2 tries on the exams. Labs are unclear and he frequently leaves the room so its hard to get help. Most of the labs are only an hour if you can figure out what youre doing.
Even though I took the class in person, all the assignments, quizzes and exams are online. You have unlimited tries on everything including exams. The questions are hard, but he will walk you through any question if you ask. Attendance is optional, but he gives you an extra credit point for every lecture you attend.
I cannot get a hold of this professor at all. I am struggling in the class but am getting no help. The lectures are very basic and not in-depth but the homework is very hard and nothing like the lectures.
He's very nice, but this is a fully online class and I don't have a clue what's going on. He's very helpful but if you fall behind you're screwed. I've attending additional conference with him for extra help but there's no chance i'm gonna pass this class, would strongly recommend not taking this class online.
Since this was an online class it is different than any physics classic when they are normally in person. Physics is not an easy subject, but Professor Bacon always has an online conference to help with your physics questions. As long you work with physics every day and ask questions to Professor Bacon then you should be in good shape! Take Him!
He is not very helpful at all. You purchase a book written by him that is exactly like his lectures, so its no help if you get stuck. Purchase Chegg, worth it for this class, labs are fun, but not very clear on how to do the reports
I have taken this class twice. Once in person and once online. Failed the online one. Passed the in person one with over 100%. I never went to class. Lectures hardly teach you what you need to know on homework or quizzes. Almost everything can be taken as many times as you want (even the exams). Very easy. TAKE THIS COURSE.
His math does not even line up with the practice problems in his lectures. Refuses to help. I do not what I did wrong in this class because he does not help. Worst professor of all time. do not take a Dr. Bacon class.
He's a sweet old man who cares about you passing the class. As long as you don't skip, you'll be fine. If you do happen to miss class he has online options to make up the points. He also gives tons of extra credit. Just for showing up to lectures you get extra credit and for the test, he offers extra credit. He's also super understanding.
Dr. Bacon has your best interest at heart. The material he covers is what he tests you on, but he uses different questions about similar formulas. You must put some time in. He is a fantastic professor and has weekly meetings to solve any questions you have(quizzes or exams.) You have unlimited attempts on everything.
Dr. Bacon was one of the best professors I've ever had. He was very helpful and always available for questions. The summer class is online, open note, and has unlimited tries on homework and exams, so you can work to get the grade you want. He holds a Wednesday Zoom meetup to answer questions and offers lots of extra credit. I highly recommend him.
Dr. Bacon is an amazing professor, while he doesn't make much sense in lectures, he's quick to help. If you ask him a question he will give you an answer. Unlimited attempts on exams and homework. You also get extra credit for just showing up to lectures. Its basically impossible to fail to his class.
