The simple logic is that if we get lower grade, the professor is hard! He is very easy and respectful professor. He always brings new things in each class. If you follow his direction, pay attention in each class, you should get grade: A easily. He explains very well about each essay topic and gives more than enough time for research paper.

Mad easy prof. if U go to his office hours he would read U'r essay's before U hand them in and he would tell U wants wrong with it, and that way U will get a better grade. I got an A in his class for just going to his office hours.

He is easy A professor.There are only four 500-word-eassy and one final research paper through the whole semester(almost 4 months). That means you only need to write one essay per month. If you take other professor, you may have to write 2 essay a week. All you need is to follow his instruction, then you will definitely get an A. Trust me!!!

Just like any other class,if you put in effort it's not hard at all.Prof Bordogna is very helpful and respectful of all students.The essay topics are interesting and he grades the fairly.He will check your first draft and tell you of any weak points.This will assure you of a good grade.You have to be an idiot to fail this class

Why do you think some students blame the proffessor for the lack of effort? ---they are Mediocre students. My first language is no English ,and i got an "A" in this course. He will give you a list of books to buy or borrow and as long as you read them, you will do fine. Papers are due after finishing each book. He also hands out articles which you read and submit a reaction paper. He accepts late papers with no points deducted and gives you a chance to submit any work before the semester ends. Highly recommended.

I can't seem to find any truth to any of these comments! Teacher is a fair, simple and honest. You don't need to go to every class, you can redo every assignment for a higher grade, and there are no tests! Can be a little dry at times, but overall a funny and confident guy. I feel like I had a real person teaching, not a retirement ready old fart.

Anyone who think this teacher is hard is an idiot. There are only 4 essays and 1 research paper for the entire semester, grades are very easy and fair, and you get to miss five classes without penalty. Class can be a little slow at times, but Prof. Bordogna has a good heart and cares about seeing his students succeed. Got an A in the course.

Easy assignments. 4 essays 1 research. Requires you to read 3 small books over the semester, which aren't that bad. Very sweet and fair grader. I got an A. Let's you miss 5 or so classes unexcused. I recommend him.

Professor Bordogna takes a subject that you have to take, and makes it interesting. You will learn how to improve your writing, and you will increase your awareness of what is going on in the world. Fair and easy going, he wants you to succeed and wants you to leave with more then a grade. A real class act!!

Took him as a summer course. He is a VERYY easy grader as long as you include exactly what he wants. Work is very very easy although it is slow at times. Three books with 4 easy essays and a final research paper that is graded very leniently. Easy easy 4.0... did I mention its easy?

Hes a pretty good teacher. The topics for this class made me really DEPRESSED (world hunger poverty ect) and I would rebell after and go buy expensive food in the cafeteria like the NAKED drink and I saw Professor Bordogna drinking it too and got annoyed. I thought he was trying to get us to help straving children or something and he drinks NAKED.

He's easy doesn't ask for a lot. Very simple assingments. an 8 page narrative is the very last assingment. and a couple of poems in the middle. He is EXTREMELY lenient almost too lenient. If you're NOT creative then DON'T TAKE HIM

Do the work and you'll be fine. there is hw and essays to do but theyre pretty easy. more tedious then anything. There is a research paper and if you don't procrastinate and use the time he gives you, its not as hard as it can be. you sorta need the textbook but you can look on with someone else. up to you to make the purchase. i got an A :)

English is my second language, and I got an A. Just do your work, he likes unique essays. He does not like lazy students. He is very smart and sweet man!!!!

He really cares that this might be your last formal english class and is the best english teacher I have ever had. He is not that easy, but not unreasonable either.

Easy class but very boring. The material/topics he covers is uninteresting and dull. You do need the textbook. His in class assignments are pointless. The main things are the 4 essays and research paper. Just do the work and you'll pass.

Super duper easy. Took him in the summer and it was the easiest course I've ever taken. Gave us 4 short essays and a research paper. Also doesn't give any in class essays. As a teacher he is really nice and easygoing. He knows what he is doing and gives good motavation as well. Definitely take him if you get the chance :)

If you're focused and prepared to write GOOD essays it's an A. Finished with an A. Research paper given towards the end of the semester which is due, and essays to be written on the short story readings from the book (stories which can be found online). Gives you the topics and you choose. Easy A if you're prepared to write! Take him!!

At the beginning of the semester, I thought I could not get a good grade, but when you write like how he wants, you will get an A easily. Just know what he wants in your essays, and write it. Also, he has a lot of knowledge.

Fair grading Essays and Research paper counts the most. As long as you follow the format that professor teach, you will get "A"s easily. Also, Grammar matters a lot. Be Extra careful with grammar.

This professor one of the best English teachers in Bergen. Very knowledgeable and fair one. He does teach in class, there is no "extra talk" about someone's life and I like it so much. Take him and you would not be disappointed.

There were 4 essays, 4 reaction papers(option)and over 7 pages research paper. He is a warm-heart professor who wants to share latest news and some restaurant coupons :) but, the classes can be boring to you.. If you are fine to a quiet class atmosphere, I recommend this! If not, consider taking other class. I was fine and enjoyed his class,got A.

Easily one of the best professors I've ever had at Bergen. The classes do actually get boring, and you don't really interact much with your classmates. He does really care about the students though, amazing professor. He's a very calm guy and he doesn't give out too much work. You'll learn a lot about correcting grammar from him.

Nice man. There are 4 papers and 1 research paper. You read short stories its not too hard. The textbook is boring but you read it together. He's pretty straightforward, just do the papers (he accepts late work) and don't miss too many classes and you'll pass.

If you are interested in improving your writing skills, he gives valuable feedback with compassion. We have a couple weeks left, so I don't have a grade yet. I highly recommend if you have trouble expressing yourself. This class has helped me tremendously in gaining confidence in my thoughts.

Prof. Bordogna is the greatest professor ever. I absolutely loved his class. You read two books, write essays based on articles that he hands out, and write one research paper. If you really want to improve your writing skills, he's the best professor you'll find at Bergen.

He's a good teacher because he goes in-depth on how to write. Basically focusing on things like grammar, transitions, verbs, etc. He's kind of soft-spoken. He makes some connections from his life to what he is teaching us which personally I don't mind. His class is not hard it's very straightforward. He grades mostly based off of grammar etc.

took him in the spring and at first i was skeptical about taking his class.. but overall i passed the class with an A! he gives out several handouts about short stories and the very easy essays (2-3 pages each) will be about them. he is very lenient and kind, just listen to what he has to say and you'll be fine.

He's a really tough grader but he gives feedback immediately -or same day. A lot of papers and small assignments- time-consuming but if you read his handouts you will pass. 1 assignment I was given a C+ because I didn't understand the assignment and didn't complete it to his liking so be careful! No redos either

Professor Bordogna was a great professor. A good amount of worksheets on short stories, like three essays, and a final essay on a story at the end of the semester. Great teacher and provided quality feedback so you know how to improve.

Easy A as long as you do all the work on time

He was knowledgeable and genuinely cared about your grade. He would actually give feedback on a separate document and give constructive criticism on what you could improve on. I would say he's kind of a tough grader, but not really. As long as you follow directions, you'll be fine. Also, he is a very fast grader and emails as fast as possible!

Great professor. Sets clear expectations and gives good feedback. Not an excessive amount of work at all. 5 very short (500 word) papers, a research paper, and a few worksheets. Very clear grading guidences (rare for writing courses..just my opinion.). Great feedback. Responds to emails quickly. I enjoyed the required reading materials and commentaries. Overall, a good online class experience.
