He is great at making up his own words and passing them off as business terms.

Great Professor, extremely hard course

Dr. Canedy is an excellent teacher. This is a very difficult class but very worthwhile.

Dr. Canedy is an extremely intelligent man who expects a lot from his students. If you don't like this class, then you are obviously lazy or weak-minded. I'm not even a business major, and I got an A in the class. All it takes if EFFORT.

This really was one of the best teachers I have ever had. He expects you to work, and expects to see results. If you dont do the work you will fail, no question. He has no problem making you retake the class

Charles R. Canady is the best teacher i have ever had no question. i have no doubt that he is the best!!!

He really is the best teacher for this course. No tests only essays...use the paratext and you will do great.

AUC - Easy just use the paratext, MKT310 - Get in a good group, BAR110 - Hope for the best curve. He is brilliant and great once you get past his made up words

Probably the best and most articulate professor at the university of hartford

Charles Canedy is one of the smartest people i have ever met. If you can take him you should, he will teach you alot. He is confusing though.

He is a genious. Very entertaining and an outstanding professor, but you're definitely going to need a dictionary.

Took his course over the winter term, case study a night (30 pages long) very tough on his students but he is a fair grader. I would recommend him since you will learn a lot in his class.

He's an excellent teacher. Just make sure you study the notes, pay careful attention in class, and be sure to pick group that you know will work to get the cases done...and DON'T get on his bad side!

Don't let his brilliance turn you off - You will learn so much in this class that carries over to most job functions in the real world. Think he's tough? Wait til you get into the real world, with dealines and demanding bosses.

Yes he is hard but if you work your ass off he will bump your grade up to a higher one

Incredibly difficult and asks a lot of his students, but you learn a lot if you pay attention. And don't piss him off!

Very good teacher. Many people seem to dislike him as times, but as long as you show up for his 8am class and pay attention, as well as put in an adequate amount of work for the case studies, and study for the 4 tests, you will do well and learn a lot.

I loved his class. People may think he is crazy, but he has a sense of humor a lot of people don't understand. I really enjoyed his class.

He's very smart and witty. Yes he's hard, but if you show up on time and actually do the work, you WILL pass. Makes up words that make you think.

Also, MKT 310 and MKT 490. Canedy is the man. If you show up on time, pay attention, and put the effort, you know what I'm talking about. He makes you work hard, but it's worth the learning experience.

It may seem like his class will be long and boring. If you pay attention and take good notes then really isn't that bad.

After three classes, I can say I survived.

He is sooo crazy but you can't help but be entertained by him. He will have the entire class memorized on the first day and your papers will have wine stains on them when you get them back. As long as your papers are typed in his made up language (ie para-text and historagraphy) you will be fine.

Dr. Cannedy is the best professor I ever had. I took him for 3/4 four classes in the late 80's. He remembered everyone's name by the 2nd class in a room of 140 students. Once, in Gengras, I met him in the lunch line. We proceeded to get food togehter. He had mac salad, pickels, and marshmellow salad on one plate. That's what powers this guy.

Professor Canady's class was very good, he is a tremendous educator and a funny guy - I learned a great deal. His exams are difficult but he curves the final score.

Great teacher. Lots of work. I'm not sure his grading measures anything. Grading is pretty abstract considering 70% of grade is based on a team of people with differing motives.

The reviewer that posted the comment about verbal abuse was in my class I believe but I have no idea what they were talking about. He's easy and fun. The paratext you use has all the notes from the course laid out for you, it's simple, and easy to study from. The tests aren't subjective, they're multiple choice and he curves A LOT if needed.

This guy is awesome. I was doing horribly up to the last couple of weeks of class. All you have to do is develop good study techniques and you will do well on the exams without the curve and even better with it. Also put as much information as possible in your scopeout. I ended up with a B+

Need to work hard. If you don't work he will fail you. He also hates dumb people. If he has ever made fun of you or "verbally abused" you, it is proably becuase you are one of those people. Argue with him, qyestion him and engage him and ask a lot of questions.Most people cower, if you stand up to him and assert yourself you will do quite well. (B+

Hands down the best teacher I had at Hartford. Will make you work and learn and entertain at the same time. Honestly, the only people that didnt enjoy or get something out of his class were the ones that didnt belong in college in the first place.

I wish I could take all my classes with him, he was not easy but he had so much to give. Best memory ever, even after 10 years he still remember my name and country. God bless him for making my education worth.

Dr. Canedy remembered everyone's name in my class on the first day and it was one of two sections with about 100 students. He was a very difficult teacher, but everyone knew that going in and it motivated me (an average student) to try harder. I still remember stuff from that class almost 10 years later.

One of the best professors i ever had and not because he was easy, but because he challenged you in which i learned a lot from his class. a tip would be take very good notes and be involved in class discussions.

Granted, he uses his Harvard level terminology and makes up words, but he is BY FAR the best professor you'll ever have. During the class, you might cry a little with all the studying and case studies, but it's worth it. After you graduate, you'll realize how lucky you were to have him.

I had him for at least four classes and after XX yrs I can tell you he was and is one of the best professors I ever had. Definitely UoH is a better school just because of him. I would suggest everyone to take a class with him. He is smart, challenging, inspiring, knowledgeable, helpful, fun. Only scores 120% in my book A++++++

Tough teacher. Pretty good sense of humor with some of the most interesting words that I've heard. Very tough grader, but does present the material in a very appealing fashion.. He knows what he's talking about.

Dr. Canedy is one of those educators you will never forget. Having graduated in 1982, I know from whence I speak. A "good education" encourages one to strive to attain your personal best. Dr. Canedy's teaching style demands alertness, critical thinking and execution by his students. "Professors" everywhere, could learn from him. A true gem.

Quiet the character. Tough class but it's definitely worth taking a class with him. Very intelligent and amusing making class enjoyable.

Good Professor with knowledge on the topic. Very witty with his jokes in class. Participation is worth as much as the final so it is important you participate. A couple papers that were fairly easystraight forward. Overall a good class.

Very interesting class, he provides a lot of interesting facts about what you're learning in class. Very witty and has a good sense of humor. Grades tough, but provides very good feedback and is clear about what he expects from students on the first day. Class participation is a must!

Looking back after 20 years after graduating, and having taken many other courses, training classes internationally, I can attest that Professor Canedy is one of the best ones I had. Yes you have to work hard, but he is very knowledge and extremely smart.

Brilliant man. Inspired me to join Innovators group. Saw potential in me and let me know it. Tough grader but college should be about learning. Not taking the easiest class and fake your gpa

Great Professor, but you should make sure that he knows your name and he likes you. About 5-10 people in the class actually get the best grades just because they are in good relations with the professor.

Professor assignments are somewhat vague to answer, he will ask you to present right up a marketing plan for several businesses throughout the course. There is no actual blueprint for making a good plan so you're left with hints from the professor and your own intellect. The assignments are group projects so kiss the A goodbye your team sucks

If you want a mentor, in hopes of bettering your understanding of core academic concepts, your character, and your opinions, learn with Dr. Canedy III. Earning my degree from UHa in science left me little time with Dr. Canedy III, however the few courses I did take with him, taught me how to tactically approach both academic and life scenarios.

Involves a lot of reading but the teacher is very nice.

Dr. Canedy is one of my favorite professors ever, an INCREDIBLY unique character, & good mentor. While the case studies are difficult, they teach you how to follow a specific format, and think independently. (His favorite word is sub-rubric). If you study, you should do well on the tests, provided you think logically. Challenge conventional wisdom!

Great professor, he knows his stuff and is very smart. Definitely buy the paratext, he will explain this in the first class. It will get you an A on all his tests! The case study scope outs he takes very seriously, so follow his guidelines perfectly. He notices and knows who is in his classes so if you skip he WILL call you out. He's a great guy!

Dr. Charles Canedy, my favourite professor in my four years. Took all 3 courses he taught with him. Very well respected in and out of Barney. His classes require you to be engaged. Hard grader but he adjusts your grade at the end based on his opinion of you. If you come to class, participate, get involved and try he will reward you in the end.

Prof Canedy is definitely not for everyone. His grading is extremely harsh, however he curves the final grades immensely (a 45 on an exam may end up being an A). His class may drive you nuts, but he is an amazing person who will help you out if you put in the effort. If you get to know him (just a chat every once in a while) that will help you too.

Canedy was literally the best professor I have ever had at UHa. It's rare to find a prof here who is so intelligent and inspirational. He's brilliant and really cares about his students getting a good education. He's a tough grader and likes to put you out of your comfort zone, but it's all for the purpose of learning.

Professor Charles Canedy was one of the greatest professors I ever had while going to UH. God bless him wherever he might be. His lectures were unique and information dense.
