i had carnal for ECE 2010, 2020, 3010. he is the best teacher i have had since i have been in college. very helpful, very clear, tests are thorough but you learn what he teaches. lots of homework, his classes require lots of work, but well worth the time

One of the best teachers I've ever had. Would take Carnal for any course possible. Makes class interesting. Do homework and make good grade on test. Friendly inside and outside classroom.

Loved him in Circuits I, loved him in Circuits II. Again, he gives lots of homework, but you can do it if you work at it. I actually found his tests easier in 2020. Excellent teacher, but you have to work for it.

If you put forth the effort you will do good in his class. He grades fairly and is willing to help you help yourself. Carnal and Ventrice are the 2 best professors in the department.

very easy grading.. I got 0/5 correct on a TEST and got an 87... Homework for every class. Grading is very lenient on the homework also.

Homework amount is stil as ungodly as it was in Circuits, but here there was a lot of reliance on formulas so it didn't seem as bad. His lectures seemed a bit more cryptic this time around, but I blame that on the material. As crazy as it sounds, I'm actually sad he doesn't teach anything else.

Best teacher I have had so far.....Teaches the material very well, gives U a bunch of challenging hw on it, and gives U a decent test that covers the material done in class.....Would recommended to any student ready to study....

Great prof! You'll spend most of your sober time doing hw, but it's the only way for most people to learn the material. I recommend doing all of the hw alone (not with a group) to maximize your learn'n. If you don't understand something, go ask him. He'll ask you questions until you get it. Take him for any EE he teaches.

This guy is a good teacher. His HW is challenging and takes many hours but his tests are fair and he'll go over what will be on it so you can prepare. He's the most anal prof. I've had but his systematic approach to everything helps you understand. You have no other choice and you're with him for the long haul.

Dr. Carnal is a very good professor who can relate to students. He knows that not everyone in the class is a genius and encourages people to come to his office. He does give tons of homework, which really cuts into other class study. Nevertheless, his tests are reasonable and I would take him for more classes if they were offered.

Dr. Carnal is a really good teacher. The HW is quite a bit, but you do learn from it. His office hours are pretty crappy, though. However, if you do find him in his office, he will do ANYTHING for you. wink wink

mass quantities of homework, which seems a bit much at times. Although I don't want to ever admit it in class, the homework is very helpful and because of it, I really do not have to study for his tests. At the end of each semester in one of his classes, I feel like I have learned a lot (in other words, tuition money well spent).

Tons of homework, but is an easy B. A, if you do all the homework and don't miss class. Attendance is mandatory, and he takes off for being late, which sucks at 8am. Do the homework and his tests are a breeze. You'll have homework due every class, but it's not bad, alot of times I just did it in class. His tests are easy compared to his example

He is a really good professor. Be fore warned that he gives massive amounts of homework. Many times I dedicate 5 hours on Monday and Wednesday a piece doing his homework. There about 20 of them a semester. His tests are easier. He is a good professor. I will take him again.

You might get frustrated with Carnal, but at the end of the year you'll realize how much you learned and how good this guy is. My interest in Computer Engineer has at least tripled after taking Circuits I and II with him. It was tough (with all of the homework) but I got through with it! His grading becomes much more relaxed after the drop date :P

What can I say? He is the ECE Meat Grinder. I've survived 3 semesters and going into my 4th with this guy.

Always keeps class interesting with silly jokes and his own style. First tests are usually killers, but it makes you study more.

I've had this guy for 2010, 2020, and now 3300. He is a great professor, and he makes jokes to ease up the class. He does give a lot of hw though. It take a lot of time and effort to recieve anything about a C in his class though.

I have done 5 tours with Dr. Carnal. You might cuss him, make voodoo dolls of him, and want to punch the man, but once you have other professors in ECE, you will miss the way he structures his classes. It isn't easy, but if you become friends with people ahead of you, you'll succeed :)

I would highly recommend Dr. Carnal. At first he seems like the scary serious professor, but he very quickly reveals himself as someone who wants to help you learn in any way possible, and part of that is that he has quite a sense of humor. Enjoy that while you can. Also, his name is carNAL. Emphasis on the second syllable.

Circuits 2 with Dr. Carnal is even better than Circuits 1. Just show up to class and do the homework with a friend and you'll do well in the class. The biggest key is to do the homework in groups (or at least pairs), because you WILL make a lot of mistakes, but you can check each other's work. He allows you to rebut grades, too. USE THAT!

Dr. Carnal is a sexy man. I love following him in my car when he's running on campus. If it wasn't for him I'd definately change majors. I wanna take all the classes I can with him. ;) Im even gonna take his summer classes.

Very difficult and somewhat cold towards students sometimes. He's hard, but fair. If he doesn't make you change majors you'll know your stuff. Take him if you want to be a good engineer, avoid him if your a slacker. He's a CYA master, so you wont get one over on him, ever.

He is one of the best professors I have ever had so far.he is very helpul,humble, and fair.The only problem is that he chooses bad graiders, but as far as teaching he is very clear.

Dr. Carnal is one of the best profs in TTU. If you do not miss classes and take notes, homework and tests are not going to be a big deal.

Best professor at TTU. Took ECE 2010 and 2020. HW would make u go nuts, but it is worth it cause it prepares u for the tests. You will know the material in and out. All his classes are well structured. If u have a chance to take his classes, take it.

Best proffessor at TTU. Has a burning passion for the subject and is very intelligent. Loves to teach and makes class enjoyable. Homeworks are hard, but tests are easy if you do the homework. You will learn a lot if you take this professor.

Smart professor. If you like dry humor, you'll like his jokes. He often gets off topic to tell stories which provides a good break to catch up drawing circuits that he draws at the speed of light. He expects you to know the information, but it's not hard. All his old tests are online, which helps because you'll know what to expect. Never a surprise

Dr. Carnal is easily the best teacher at Tech! Get him as your teacher every opportunity you get!!

His tests are not bad, he gives online example tests of previous exams. The homework, however, is the hardest work I have done up to this point being an EE student at TTU. It is VERY time consuming homework. His office hours are limited also. Ace the exams, because the homework will probably destroy your grade.

Carnal is the best teacher in my learning career! I could not speak higher of this man. Carnal is tough at first because you need to learn how to deal with things he wants, but if you don't get and A in circuits one... Don't be a EE nor CompE... Circuits 2 is the toughest he teaches, but I still got an A even with a 52 on my first test Elec is easy

He does not grade his own tests, he has a grader so the grader may not give you partial credit because all they look for is a certain answer. That hurt me cause I done all the right steps but made a tiny error and got the whole problem wrong. So the grader can really hurt you.

You'll have to work very hard in his classes if you want a good grade. The homework is ridiculously time consuming, especially in Circuits II. He's crystal clear with what he expects, and is very structured in the way he does things. You'll learn a ton about very important EE concepts, but it won't be because of him. Lectures aren't the best ..

he gives 3 tests + final. if your final better than the past 3 tests, it replaces lower test. however ,Homework are harder part in this course. Tests are not that hard , practice the old that he gave, you'll get higher than 80%. grades: (76% , 3 tests+final. 19% each one), homeworks24% bonus 1.5 He is a good teacher, he deserves to come to him

To be plain, Circuits 1 bores Carnal, and it's not till circuits 2 and Electronics that you see he is one of the best teachers here in the ECE department. Taking electronics 2 next semester because he's teaching it. Homework takes time, but there are tutors over in Brown that help if needed. Old tests on Ilearn are great for study material.

Once you enter Circuits 1, your social life is pretty much over. You'll have to work extremely hard to do well in his class. He's one professor that you start off hating but will grow to like him as time progresses. Know this, the homework will be the hardest and most annoying part of the course. BUT if you can do the homework, the tests are easy!

Simultaneously the hardest but one of the best teachers I have ever taken. SO much homework, but in his defense it is a hard class with A LOT of material so I cant think of a better way to teach it. He has great lectures and is extremely nice and fair. Tests are very difficult so word of advice, find a study group and practice old tests religiously

Honestly the best professor I have ever had. He gives a lot of homework, but if you go to his office and get to know him, you will love him! He cares so much about the students, and he is absolutely the best professor the ECE department has by far. Those who hate him either failed his class, or didn't get to know him/ask for help.

Even though he doesn't usually show it, he really cares about students. That said, he expects a lot out of them. If you don't understand something ask about it then, don't wait till three weeks later when the lecture is building on something that you should have learned weeks ago.

Dr Carnal is by far the best professor in the EE department. I started off by not liking him throughout circuits 1 and usually that's the general consensus with many students that take him the first time. TRUST ME, you will really start to appreciate him from then on. Comparing with the other professors, I wish I have him for all my EE courses.

Honestly, I did not like this man through Circuits 1 & Circuits 2, but as time has progressed I love the way he teaches. Lots of homework in Circuits 1 & Circuits 2. Electronics 1 not as much homework. But definitely is willing to help students who actually take time to learn. Wish he would teach Electronics 2! Definitely study the tests online!

Honestly, I wasn't a huge fan of his at the beginning of Circuits I. But once you start getting the hang of the class and he starts to get comfortable with the students, he really shines as a professor. The homework is insane, especially in Circuits II, and he expects a lot out of his students. But I now know the content front and back, very well.

This class will run you about 10 hours for each homework assignment, which is every class. He is extremely organized and helpful, but it's a lot of work.

Dr. Carnal is fantastic! He makes the complex concepts of circuits quite simple to understand. Every class you turn in hw, each usually takes a few hours to complete, so be prepared to work. The good thing is hw only counts for around 25% of your grade. The other 75% is made up by 4 big "quizzes". But if you can do the hw they're no big deal.

Great Prof. easy to talk to clear expectations

Great teacher who really cares about his students if they care about their own success. I've had him for circuits 1&2, I've heard electronics is even better. The homework will be like a serious, committed relationship, but you will KNOW your stuff if you take it seriously. 10/10 would recommend using ALL his previous tests to study.

Circuits 1 & 2 are weed-out classes for the entire ECE department. The course load will take most students by surprise, so be prepared to set aside 8 hours per assignment (twice a week). Carnal is a great professor. If you have any questions, get a girl to ask them on your behalf.

Dr. Carnal is a difficult professor, but WOW do you learn a lot! There is a lot of homework, and it tends to be difficult, but Dr. Carnal lays the foundation to build amazingly talented electrical engineers out of his students. If you put in the work then youll get so much out of it.
