Not a cake walk but you learn a lot and he doesn't hesitate to give out A's if you deserve them.
hes not a bad teacher, but you'll probably learn more about his family and Ireland than you will about economics.
Gives a big 25 page paper. Thats the only downside to the class. He knows a lot and makes his lectures enjoyable. You'll learn a lot. Great guy and has a good personality.
nice guy, you really dont have to do much work the entire semester, except a killer 20 page paper at the end of the semester. take him if you don't mind doing tons of research, but otherwise i wouldn't take him again
ECO 1301, ECO Elective - True economist, and anti Bill Gates. A lot of lectures, few homeworks, tests, but a very lengthy paper. True, he does talk a lot about his weekend trips to Ireland and a few other tangents, but still a good prof.
Too much work, long hard papers, andextemely hard tests!

This class is doable. SOOOOO much work though for one class. I struggled to get my A-. 13 single page paper will take you forever! You have to do another 5pg paper. Hard midterm. Boring. His class lasts forever! I warned u! I was very sleepy everytime.
NOT BAD COMPARE TO OTHER PROFESSORS. HE DOES TALK A LOT ABOUT HIS LIFE EXPERIENCE BUT HE'S ALRIGHT. IF YOU DON'T MIND LOTS OF RESEARCH FOR A 20 PAGES PAPERS U GO AHEAD AND TAKE HIM.
He's a great guy. Ridiculously intelligent, knows practically everything. Tests aren't hard if you study his notes. Class time is used in an efficient way. The paper is killer but get started with compilling the info right away and you will be fine.
I made a T-shirt that said "I survived the Clark Project" That this was the most outrageous assignment yet. I would NEVER AGAIN take him. However, he is pretty funny and cool. THE CLASS IS THE PAPER!
I wouldnt take him again, his tests are easy but that paper depressed me all semester. Its a hard long paper (20 pgs)so begin it early and its nothing you can knock out in onme weekend.
DO NOT TAKE HIM. I got an A-, and I have praised the lord, as a result. He gives a 15 page single-space term paper, which is very difficult. Dr. Clark goes off on many tangents including trips to Ireland and his "MIDDLE CLASS" upbringing. It get
he is a very smart and knows what he is talking about but doesn't care about his students or messing up their gpa, he is unreasonable with the 20page paper and will give you an F
Smart professor but does not know how to teach. Take another professor for this course, because most likely you will get an F on the 20 page paper. He will fail you.
If you pay attention in his class which is sometimes hard to do, he is terribly funny. He is a very down to earth man and a realist. The class isn't so bad, but there are lots of papers. I would not recomend for lazy students.
do yourself a big favor and don't take this guy. i got an A- and and it was still not worth it b/c his 15 page single spaced paper will absolutely kill your semester. Be prepared to do ridiculous hours of research on it
This professor gives you a killer 18 page research paper which is due towards the end of semester. Must study for exams and do really good on the paper. If you failed all exams and did good on paper, don't think about passing this class because I didn't.
he sucks, all he talks about is how he gained weight in ireland and how he catches students cheating. do yourself a favor and drop the course.
do that paper well! and do the extra credit...u don't even have to do great on the test...then u get an A like i did.
that paper is murder, either do it throughout the entire semester or drop the class
dont take this course.............he sucks....but its easy get A
funny soemtimes n other times its just corny. pretty cool but tends to get off topic soemtimes.
He's cool but corny at the same time. The course reading was ridiculous but you really just had to take notes in class to get it. Don't ever cheat though or your college career is over, he'll make sure of that. Homework was minimum, just reading books that you didn't bother to buy.
took him for economic history of the western civ. thought it would be hard class but very easy got an A. you HAVE to go to class bc his tests are from notes. gives you the questions beforehand so just go and prepare yourself. also gives service learning option which is an easy A on a paper.
hes so corny but very easy, and likes to talk about Ireland. He gives you essays before the test..just take notes.
SJU - Rome Campus. Don't waste you money on text books they are crap and totally unrelated to the course. He is a very strict of a grader, don't bother to understand anything he teaches write down everything he says in class. The only way to do well is feed him back exactly what he gave you word for word. Don't have an opinion about anyt
Clark cant teach and is intimidated by students opinions. He grades according to who he likes, if he doesnt like you, it wont matter how much you know. I got a 78 on a midterm, someone with identical answers got a 95. This is Clark.
he's the worst public speaker ever. if you like the word "uh" then take him. laugh at his cheezy jokes and you'll get a better grade. i actually thought his jokes were funny. but some people wouldnt think so. he's a big liberal who wants to raise taxes though. but what eco college professor isnt?
He's a good teacher but he tends to go a little off topic here and there, his service learning project was okay, make sure to do this at the beginning of term so you can get it out of your way. Doing it last minute will give you headaches. No need to buy his books, they are just for reference. What a waste of money!!!
I thought he was okay, his teaching style sometimes bores me, he gives you chances to do well. Study notes and no need to by books.

so much work, its ridiuculous to handle in a semester. 4 papers, 5 pages each and a 15 pg term paper, ALONG with 3 exams
be careful. he will not hesitate to fail you. gives a 15 page long paper single space due at the end of semester. it is ok for him to talk and fool around about Ireland and his personal life....it will make u relaxed, and u will end up getting thrown off and fail the class.
if u want to pass this class u not only need 2 write everythign he says but read the text book thoroughly u should go to the llc events because it will increase ur grade other than that he tries to be funny which hes not nd its jus sad
Overall he was pretty alright, he gives nice curves on tests =) just pay attention and take really good notes and you'll do really well.
I personally thought his class was ok.. Its not easy at all.. it requires a lot of hard work.. his tests are fair and hard usually the class average is in the 50s.. the essays are easy but pay attention take very very good notes read the text book and u will do fine
He is the most arrogant, absent- minded, person you will ever have. He gives tons of papers, which he does not read and gives the most difficult tests. His lectures are vomitrocious to say the least. He thinks he is some world- renowned economist when in reality he is incompetant. do not take this professor by any means.
not a bad professor but the material is boring. make sure you come to class and take good notes, he curves his tests like crazy so dont sweat it if you fail a couple of them. he gives a lot of extra credit too.
I don't want to say this, but in my years at SJU, this is one of the professors that i dislike the most. He goes off topic talking about trips to Ireland, and everytime he talks he goes...UHHHHH......then finishes the statement. He gives a 13 page paper, tries to help, but i find him hard to understand. He just gives off a bad vibe to me.
his class is very boring. he did give powerpoint study guides but the tests included material that he really did not go over or explain in class or on the study guide. I learned NOTHING in class because he always went off topic with random and irrelevant info be prepared to teach yourself the material. if you do the assigments you will pass the cla
makes u do 20 hours of outside community service and a 20 page paper with it. random vacations during the semester. tests are rediculously hard. he thinks every1 is a cheater, practically breathes down ur neck while u take it. says "UHHHH" ALOTTTT its really annoying
The tests are too hard and he doesnt care to give any feedback on papers but i didnt get a test over 70 and got a b- so i thnk he makes up the grades
eh overall not a bad professor. Class does get a little boring, his jokes may be a little corny but at times are funny. He is not clear about what he wants from his students.. He will tell you to study chapter 7 when its really supposed to be 8. So as a student you have to keep him in check. Do good on LLC's and he will give extra credit.Got an A
This class was HORRIBLE! He tried so hard to be funny even though he wasn't, he goes off topic too much, and gives the hardest paper in the world. He made us to some government site to get a ton of useless information for a 15 page paper. He didn't even talk about the textbook, but made us get it. DON'T TAKE HIM!
A great prof - very insightful both in lecturing and grading papers...sure he's a big lib with his own agenda, but he entertains other viewpoints and encourages. them. Do the ASL project as soon as you can so it doesn't become a distraction later on in the semester. Ignore the negative comments, he's definitely worth taking, and its an easy A
clearly knows the subject but doesn't put it in an easy way in lectures. often goes off topic, always says uh. makes us do service projects. book reports, papers here and there, midterm final(scantron), wouldn't recommend
Chill dude, not very difficult. Review sheets for every test cover all that you need. offers extra credit, midterm final 3 papers. Got A+ without breaking a sweat. study and you'll have no problem. text book not needed. notes from powerpoint.
DID NOT LIKE THIS GUY AT ALL! He thinks he's funny with his stupid wise cracks and NY Mets jokes. He is pompous and thinks of himself as an economic god. Do Not take him. He gives a 15 pg. term paper that he doesn't read, just checks it for plagiarism. Save yourself the pain of fighting for a good grade, don't take this guy!
Not a bad class at all. I got an A- for teh course. For the mid term I got an 85%. Most people went to the extra credit and had an additional 20 pts added but luckily I did ok on the test itself. Group project is not hard at all, take home final but the ind paper is pretty hard but doable. Overall excellent teacher. learned a lot and the work doabl
Extremely helpful and passionate about his subject. Teaches what he loves. It is a junior level class so please ignore the horrible comments some people just never grew out of high school mentally. Offers a lot of extra credit to help you. I dont know what else he could do. Take him. Im taking him in two courses again this semester hope I do as wel
I don't understand how anyone can write a bad comment about him. I took him for macro econ last semester and I am now in eco 3346 and eco3303. His classes remind me why im majoring in eco in the first place. Many papers but on interesting subjects. Put in a little effort and youll be fine. Gives essay questions for tests befor hand. Not too big on
dont think twice, take him, you will learn and get easy grades.
easy A. powerpoints, 3 papers & 3 tests, give you test question beforehand so if you get less than an A you're an idiot. class is kind of boring but definitely worth it to take him if you're not too interested in econ. do the work and you'll get at least an A-
i hate this class. i like economics but this is far from an economics class. all he does is get off track and preach his dumb, excessively liberal views. i would think someone with a doctorate would know better than to cite information from better sources than msnbc. three 3pg papers,15asl hrs and a 15pg paper(or no asl 25pgs) SINGLE SPACED! stupid
I don't recommend this professor. He posts quizzes on the blackboard and then all of a sudden they can disappear or have technical problems. I don't really enjoy work that involves using a system on the internet, especially for my other classes.
Not a bad person, but gives a bad vibe. He has online quizes, look at the powerpoints. He is always late to class. Gives current events every so often and one book review. Tests are hard, had two on one didnt study got a 75 and the other studied for a lot, an 85. Gives extra credit, do it! Go to class, says answers, that help on the online quizzes.
Weekly online quizzes, use your resources so no reason not to get an A. 2 test and a midterm, kind of difficult tests. Offers tons of extra credit. Kind of funny guy, if you like corny jokes. Definite liberal bias. Really offers a lot to learn.
There's a weekly quiz based online. If you missed one or two that's fine with the EC he gives. The midterm and finals are something you need to study for, which wouldn't be hard. He teaches and does make corny jokes, and is definitely bias. The topics he randomly hands out for you to write on can be switched to make it easier.
He isn't THAT bad. I mean, he does suck. All he does is talk about Ireland and illegal things. His essays are really easy though, just follow the rubric and you'll get a 100. Don't do anything in class, just study for the test. I DID ABSOLUTELY NOTHING IN CLASS. gives a lot of extra credit, DO THEM.If you have a choice, don't choose him but hes ok
If you have a better choice, don't choose him. But he isn't that bad. He does give a lot of quizzes, but they're just extra credit. His essays are easy if you follow the rubric and they aren't long. His tests are curved. I didn't study and got 78 and 84. He will bore you, but it's better than failing. Can be absent 6 times before points are taken.
he put me to sleep almost every class. he's a laid back guy and will try to give you extra credit and stuff, but I didn't learn anything in his class. he doesn't care if no one is listening, he'll talk to himself the entire time and never incorporate the class. choose someone else if you can
Went to every class of his. Studied my butt off for hours for tests and quizzes only to end up in failure and poor grades. I love economics and have a real interest and nack for it. His teaching style is terrible and gets off topic way to many times. He's nice but not effective. I am in college to get good grades, not be a teachers pet or friend.
Ok this is how he breaks your grade down in the end. 20% essays, 15% Quizzes, 10% Attendance, little H.W,Participation, Test #1-15%, Test #2 and Final are 20% of grade. His tests are pretty difficult and you really have to take time out to study hard and understand the material. He gives up to 25 extra credit points on your lowest test score.
WORST PROFESSOR EVER. Stay away, if you have the option of taking someone else please do so. There's 2 Exams (50 multiple choice), 4 essays (very easy), & a final of 110 Questions #WTF. His questions are so confusing and nearly impossible to get the right answer. The quizzes are stuff he makes up, STAY AWAY!
Clark only talks to himself and never incorporates the class. His Tests are very hard but essays and quizzes are easy. Gives a lot of Extra Credit.Take him bc he's the better over most of the economic professors. Also,Clark stop preaching your liberal views. Republican conservative is the only norm.u idiots r destroying the way the country use to be
Laid back Prof. Has 4 essays (3 easy 1 hard) very funny. You can study his PPs and get 80+ on the tests (I got 86 and 84). Easy B need to put some effort for at least A-
Honestly, i was intimidated by the course work at first. Alot of work to do;easy weekly quizes,2 kind of difficult tests which he curves, 4 essays and a final. You need to put in work, material isnt so hard but you get what you put in. Give it the time and effort? you'll get an A.
Not sure why he has such a bad rap, he's really not that bad. If you pay attention you can learn a lot. Clark is knowledgable and clear. His tests and assignments are relatively easy if you just put in a little effort. Bottom line, don't slack off and you'll do fine.
I was skeptical about Clark before these readings but he's not that bad at all. First test was easy and second test was hard but had a 20 point curve. Not to mention ten extra credit points on the exam and also countless extra credit opportunities for the exam. Although a liberal guy, his class is tolerable and makes the occasional funny joke.
His growth and development class is tougher than economic history. Fair grader and very personable. very doable class.
Such a great and sweet professor! Fast and easy grader. The multiple choice tests may be difficult but he usually curves them! He also gives extra points all the time. Wants you to do well. He is very clear and knowledgeable.
Loved Clark. He is laid back and is a fair grader. I passed the class with an A, got a 74 on the first test and an 86 on the second, I'm not sure what I got on the final. He's very knowledgeable on the subject as he has a ton of experience.
Lectures are long and boring. He's REALLY into himself, talks about himself most of the class then turns around and gives two IMPOSSIBLE exams. Occasionally will curve the exam. Four projects that very tedious. Try not to take his class. There are better economics professors.
If you can please DONT take him. Class is boring and test is a little hard. 3 tests (50 MC), few homework. Never let the class leave early. You should work hard for a good grade.
He just brags about himself the whole semester. The review sheet that he gives you for the test doesn't help at all. The test has questions that the review sheet or the slide shows does not explain about.
His tests were the hardest. A lot of txtbk reading, several excel assignments & opportunities for extra credit, the final is cumulative. Class can get boring. His powerpoints sometimes don't make sense and he tends to talk really fast or skip over things. Print 4 slides per pg bc the ppts are long and take notes on them that way, its easier
Do NOT Take This Professor. I had taken him for a Graduate Economics Course and was not happy at all with his performance. There is a Term Paper which he claims he will help you work on throughout the course via Weekly Assignments and the Midterm; however, all he does is show you how to find data that he later says is "Not A Good Source."
He's not a bad professor. His tests are really hard. He is a bit corny but it was kind of funny to me. He also was very nice to us freshman. I'm taking him for econ 1302. If you put in atleast some effort you will be rewarded.
Take advantage of all extra credit! He assigns four projects during the semester which are usually graphs done on excel. He lets you re do them so you should also take advantage of that. There are only two tests. Questions come straight from the information in the powerpoints so make sure to add your own notes to the slides during his lectures.
Hate to break it to you guys but to get an A you pretty much have to get the textbook and teach yourself everything. Lot of hard work but it's well worth it.
Very smart man, kind of funny. Honestly to me he was an easy A. Do all the extra credit and there is possibly no way you can end up with less than a b
Get ready to teach yourself most of the material. Talks about himself most of the class and does not provide much help. Give almost zero feedback on graphing assignments. Only saving grace is the extra credit but it is not always easily doable, for example one extra credit assignment was attending 5 hour speaker on a Saturday.
I took his online course and it was a piece of cake. People except easy A's, its college. Do your work, and you will get the grade you deserve. He gave multiple extra credit assignments that were only about a page or so long and it was about the simplest things. Replies quickly to emails and truly wants his students to succeed! Great guy!
Clark is no help. Weekly quizzes with bizarre wording (same on tests), graded by so many weird things it's hard to get an A if you don't do extra credit. As far as extra credit, you're essentially punished for being involved on campus. If you have conflicts during the extra credit lectures, he offers no alternatives. Interesting guy, bad professor.
AVOID IF POSSIBLE. He talks about himself for a majority of each class and teaches the material very poorly. Does not help prepare or review for tests at all, and all of his questions are very strangely worded. Also gives weekly online quizzes that are also poorly worded. If you take him, good luck. You will need it.
Professor Clark gets you to really think. He lectures heavy but you are able to learn a lot. He is very passionate about his work and you will suddenly find yourself liking the discussions in class. Easy grader
Dr. Charles Clark is a great guy, and after taking class you will know a LOT more about Economics than you previously did. He cares about your life and what is going on outside of class, and is understanding. He makes the topics and thinkers interesting. Always offers a good joke during lecture as well. From one Econ student to another, Take Him!!
He is nice and has a lot to share. He stretches the class to whole 3 hours without a break. He gives 5 assignments, and a project which is the combination of all 5 assignments. Moreover, one take home midterm and a finals. If you work hard, it's an easy A.
His class was not it He doesnt teach anything. He throws the class at you. He's able to meet outside class tho. He is nice but def avoid if you can. Project was the hardest stuff ever. Also nit picky with grading system.
The way he taught his econ class was insightful. However, I dont like his grading for the class. I did well on a lot of the papers and exams and he was still unwilling to round my final grade to the higher percentage which sucks. I put a lot of time and effort into the class and he didnt care. Consider your options before taking him.
Professor Clark really is interested in his field which is great and enthusiastic about the class. Lectures can be a little long and not always clear but the midterm and final were easy if you took notes. Papers and final project were tedious at times but manageable.
Weekly quizzes which are poorly worded. Often goes off PowerPoint which makes quizzes confusing. Midterm is 50 questions and final is 100, avoid if you can.
Do not take this professor if you want to learn. He gets off topic often and will talk until the last second of every class. He gives quizzes weekly, 50-question midterm, and 100-question final on paper. Beware of your GPA dropping. Avoid him at all costs.
Beware Clark. If you don't want to fail out of St. John's, don't take this man. He broke my spirit. I no longer want to major in economics. Kinda sad tbh. Do yourself a favor and take anybody else. I think it would be a better option, but you be the judge of that.
awful. avoid this man at all costs. he doesn't teach and only talks about himself. 50q midterm, 100q final, 5q weekly quizzes and some assignments. questions are horribly worded and make it impossible to answer. literally ruining my gpa
Honestly avoid if you can, the exams for this class are all essays and he is a very strict grader. His lectures are extremely boring, and he goes off topic a lot. He also never answers any emails. Really just get any other professor.
This class was very stressful, and if you take it, be ready to self-teach. Prof talks about himself basically all class, and you barely learn anything. A quiz every week, a midterm and a final, and a couple of excel projects. Don't take unless you really have no other choice.
Mistakes were made. Do not take any of his classes, you will not learn. He only talks about himself and test questions make no sense even google can't answer them. 50 question midterm, 100 question final, 5 question weekly quizzes, a few other assignments that he took points off of randomly. Say goodbye to your good grades if you take him.
Do not take this professor. He is an extremely tough grader and rambles of about unnecessary information. He does not give basic directions that he wants when doing papers in his class. If you do not want your grade to suffer I strongly recommend not taking him.
This professor is absolutely the worst one to get for any Econ class. I had him for Eco1320 and he is the least helpful professor ever. Many students including me failed one 10 page essay and in the feedback included nasty comments. I was disrespected and did not appreciate the lack of help I received. DO NOT TAKE THIS PROFESSOR EVER
There are a few data assignments done in Excel, but he gives step-by-step guides on how to do them, so it's an easy A. During lectures, he gets sidetracked easily and you don't learn much about economics. Overall, weekly quizzes, 50-question mid-term, and 100-question final make up most of your grade. You're going to end up teaching yourself
He's a mixed bag. He is funny and enthusiastic but frequently gets distracted and talks about himself instead of diving into the material. You don't learn much from his lectures, however he gives out mild assignments. If you have no previous knowledge in economics I would choose a different professor since I feel my background knowledge carried me.
Lecture heavy class, professor can get distracted with stories sometimes. Regarding assignments, you rarely will have homework and the projects are not too hard. You MUST STUDY for quizzes there is lots of content. I personally found microeconomics easier than macro because of this course.
The textbook is recommended for this course but not mandatory. Quizzes are online and easy to pass with notes, and exams are repeated questions that are slightly altered. Extra credit is offered through assignments or he will give them out randomly on quizzes. Very lecture heavy but worth an easy grade as long as you complete your work.
Dr. Clark loves himself. The entire course was taught decently, but every 3 minutes of lecture was followed by 30 minutes of himself. 50 question midterm and 100 question final were both difficult. Not the worst professor but there are better ones. Weekly quizzes were somewhat easy but tedious.
Very nice Professor. Attendance stopped being mandatory because not a lot of people ever showed up. Off topic a lot. Midterm and an essay which he gives you the questions for. A couple projects which are very very easy if you listen to what he asks for.
Save yourself. This class was more stressful than it needed to be, Clark constantly contradicts himself and leaves you more confused than before. Weekly quizzes (online), 4 small projects, 2 tests, and a final (100-110 questions). Wasn't the worst i've had but he's rude and doesn't do anything to make your experience easier. Stressful class for me.
Professor Clark was interesting to say the least. He would often hope to finish class on time but ended up rambling about his life every class. Read off of slides for 3 hours each day. Definitely knowledge but didn't get too engaging. Midterm, Final, and Paper were the only grades. He isn't as bad as the ratings make him out to be. Nap before class
I really enjoyed taking his class, and he provided clear instructions for each assignment. We had online quizzes every week that were very easy, one essay, 2 Excel assignments, 2 midterms, and one final (110 questions). The class is very easy if you show up to class and complete assignments.
