Ryan is a great professor. He is willing to help you understand things and grades very fairly. He writes great feedback as well!
Ryan is a fantastic professor. He is very clear with instruction and willing to help anyone who asks. He is so enthusiastic and absolutely loves what he teaches. He makes material interesting in his lectures. You can do well on exams if you study and attend class. You do need the textbook for weekly quizzes. I would highly recommend this class!
This class overall was pretty easy and professor Ryan made the class very interesting by having a lot of different guest speakers throughout the semester.
Great class, very interesting topics, you get out of it what you put into it. Ryan is an awesome professor. Very knowledgeable in the subject and willing to continue discussions beyond class if you're interested.
There is a lot of reading for quizzes. His syllabus is confusing and the due dates do not follow the online outline- he refers to the syllabus a lot. Expect a quiz every class day. Classes are very interesting and useful but you must stay on top of your homework. Good luck!
Dr. Dunn is a great professor. There are weekly readings and quizzes, 4 exams, 1 theory paper. He is great at responding to emails. Class can get off track at times which leaves course material to be covered quickly sometimes. Tests can be a little difficult due the the way he words questions. I would take another class from him.
He made class very interesting, i remembered most things for the test because he would teach in a way that made you remember it.
He is very clear and concise. Everything he talks about in class is gearing you towards tests and exams. Very friendly, and he nurtures a positive class environment. He makes what he is teaching relatable. The class is well rounded. Average amount of tests and quizes. Only one essay/big project due at the end of the semester. Only good things!
He made classes very interesting and enjoyable. I remember most of the things he took. He give great feedback on assignments.
Ryan is an amazing professor, but the class is very difficult. Get ready to study and read from the textbook.
Ryan is a great professor and very passionate about what he does. His lectures are entertaining and you learn a lot from them. This class does take work, but if you stay up with the reading/quizzes and come to class, you will be fine. 5 tests and one paper. I loved this course and would recommend it to anyone.
He's a great professor and gives good lectures. Participation is expected and recorded through in class activities. Only one large assignment either a 3-5pg paper or presentation. Weekly chapter quizzes that you are expected to keep track of on your own. Full understanding of material is important for the test so show up to class and ask questions.
Awesome teacher. His in class lectures are engaging and fun, and you really feel like he makes a point to connect with his students. At the end of class almost every class there is a small line of students to talk to him or ask questions, and he's totally cool about it. Would definitely recommend this teacher!
Ryan is huge on participation and does track it, so come to class prepared! Lectures in a way that the information sticks with you. He wants you to retain the information, not just purge it. He does require quizzes from the textbook without him teaching the information, so reading the textbook on your own and taking the quizzes is crucial.
Ryan is one of my favorite teachers. He doesn't believe that a grade should be based on tests so his high-stake grades go to participation and assignments. If you get the basic concepts from the chapters and go to most the lectures you should do well. If you have a problem with anything, even in life, GO VISIT HIM IN HIS OFFICE.
Ryan is an AWESOME guy, I loved him but for a 1500 class he asks way too much of his students. Very interesting class but unless you have lots of free-time and a light workload I would recommend not taking this class. NOT A FLUFF CLASS!!!!
Quizzes are really heavy readings and insight areally going to help u be most successful he's very passionate about the subject and test on the in class discussed great class very easy to apply to the real world I appreciated his passion for the subject
Great Professor and great lectures. The tests were difficult for such an easy class though. There were vague study guides given, and the questions often seemed to have more than one "right" answer. He's very approachable about concerns or questions though.
Dr. Dunn was awesome. There was a lot of quizzes but they are open book and you can get 100% if you read your textbook. He is funny and makes your time in class fun.
Prof. Dunn's class is always a party. He is passionate about his material and knows it well. He alternates between lectures, group work, projects, and ICA to keep classes interesting. Very easy going and respected. Always willing to answer questions. He enhances the material with personal stories to make the point clear and always answers emails.
Dr. Dunn is an amazing professor and is really passionate about what he is teaching his students. However there is A LOT of busy work in this class and it was rather time consuming. Be prepared to read and spend a lot of time on homework. Very knowledgeable and one of the best classes I have taken so far at WSU!
Dr. Dunn is very knowledgeable and passionate about what he is teaching. He keeps his students engaged and entertained. There are many quizzes but as long as you keep up on the reading and take notes on material in class, you will easily pass them. He is specific of requirements and clarifies very well when asked. Easy class if you show up.
Professor Dunn has been one of my favorite teachers! He is such a funny, caring guy, that is extremely passionate about what he is teaching. He is super intelligent, but at the same time isn't intimidating. He really cares about the students and what he teaches. Great professor!
Ryan is probably my favorite professor ever! He loves his students and will help you with anything. He always told us to come talk to him about any problems we had or if we just needed someone to talk to. Take any class you can from him hes awesome!!
Professor Dunn has to be one of my favorite professors I've ever taken. His lectures help you understand the material! Your books will be used and you will need to read chapters before class, but he is seriously incredible and I wouldn't take this class from anyone else!
Gives great lectures and really wants you to pass! There is a lot of reading to do but fairly easy
Dunn is a wonderful and patient professor. He loves in class lectures, and will take the time to listen to every story (which got a little annoying at the end). Be prepared to read the entire textbook. His quizzes and tests are not hard as long as you show up to class or study.
He makes the learning enjoyable by using personal stories. The stories come from not only himself but the student's experiences. By reading the chapters it makes it easier to take the quizzes, but not necessary. Overall it was a great class and I really enjoyed it.
Dr. Dunn is knowledgeable and funny. His lectures are fantastic, there are one or two quizzes per week based off of textbook readings, and occasional assignments to tie what you're learning into real life. Not an easy A, but you learn a lot. Ryan is amazing, I would recommend.
Dr. Dunn is super knowledgable and passionate about everything that he teaches. He really cares for all of his students and invites anyone to talk to him individually if you need help in his class. The lectures are always good and I feel like he links most of what is taught to actual stories. There is a quiz for each chapter but they are not hard.
Professor Dunn was a great professor. First of all, he has experience as a Family Studies therapist, so he's not just somebody spouting off facts, he's actually used the stuff he teaches. The books he has you read are easy to read and inspiring. His tests can be tricky to study for because the topics he covers are broad. He's very friendly.
He was a great professor and I really enjoyed going to his class. He made every lecture interesting and genuinely cared about us.
I can't say enough good things. I took 1400 & 1500 from him because he is such a phenomenal instructor. He is very fair, and will cut off a limb to help you pass. You'll need the books, but if you do the simple assignments you'll get an A easily. He challenges you but not enough to overwhelm you. He makes the material applicable for every major.
Dr. Dunn is an incredible teacher. He is extremely passionate about what he is teaching and genuinely wants his students to do well. He uses TopHat for discussion questions almost everyday and that is also how he records attendance so you need to be there. Overall he is a great teacher and I strongly recommend taking a course, or more from him.(:
Professor Dunn is amazing! He is so caring and makes it easy to go to class! It is an easy A if you just show up and do the easy work that is asked of! I would 100% recommend this professor to anyone at Weber! He is funny and has weekly quizzes that are easy and four exams that are easy if you listen in class and study a little.
Professor Dunn is easily the best math professor i have taken a math course from. He is very knowledgable in what he teaches, and he is always willing to help students. I failed many math classes, and passed Math 1010 from professor Dunn with a B+. I would absolutely recommend his classes. He is very easy to talk to and always willing to help.
Ryan is an awesome teacher! He is very caring. There are not many tests but most of the time a weekly assignment which is very easy, just do it and get full credit. Take quality notes and do the readings and you should pass easy.
Ryan is a fantastic teacher! Very caring to his students needs. There is no textbook, but you do have 3 books to read from that i think are better than any textbook. Participate alot, because you have at least 1 assignment a week that if you take notes and do the readings will be just fine in. I would gladly take classes from him again.
Professor Dunn is an amazing professor and he genuinely cares about his students and wants them to get a good grade. His lectures are very interesting and they keep me awake all class. He makes class fun and exams are very easy if you study. Awesome class and would definitely recommend taking.
There's basically one big group project that he creates little assignments out of. It wasn't required, there's no way I would take it. He is a good professor, but class could have been much shorter each week. He takes a long time to do anything. This class took a lot of extra, outside-of-classtime meeting and effort.
He makes class very interesting. The online book is essential. The grading criteria is clear and there aren't a lot of unnecessary assignments. If you go to class and do all assignments you will receive an A
This class is not difficult. It also made me want to avoid Human Development from now on. The class feels very disorganized and hectic most of the time, and the only reason that it is easy to pass is that the material taught is so basic. Ryan Dunn is a very positive person, but the class itself is a waste.
Great class, great professor. No need to buy the book, just buy the online access code for the weekly quizzes. 4 tests, no comprehensive final. (he curves the test scores too so that's a big bonus) Make sure to do the quizzes and practice with the online "learning curve" thing Participate. Use the study guides he provides. Do the work.
This is the most disorganized class I've ever taken, Dr. Dunn is really nice and is easy to communicate with however I couldn't tell if I was only supposed to be reading the material online and doing the quizzes or if I was also supposed to be reading the book or keeping up with his powerpoint notes, so hard to follow with the dense material.
Professor Dunn was AMAZING! He helps if you get behind, will work so well with you and helps you pass and his class was so much fun!! He is so funny and such a fun professor.
Great professor! Actually cares about you and how you do in the class!
You do not need to take notes from his class because all the information you need is in the online textbook. Just show up for the attendance and you'll be fine. He made class fun and had a lot of fun stories.
Dr. Dunn is the best college professor I have had so far, he cares about you and understands that you are a busy college student. He has a good sense of humor and makes his lessons interesting and fun. He responds to emails in a timely manner. Take notes and print the study guides from the files folder ahead of time. READ/CHECK THE SYLLABUS.
Professor Dunn is a phenomenal professor. His passion is teaching and helping others improve and it shows. His class is fun and he is very engaging. He shows that he cares about us while challenging us to be better. He is never shy to crack a joke or to get real with the students. He is awesome! His lectures are interesting and loves to discuss.
Best professor I have ever had. He makes learning fun and makes you think critically. He cares about each one of his students but still is a cheerleader for your success and learning. Everyone should take his classes no matter your degree.
Prof Dunn is very intelligent and highly respectable. He's doing what he loves and that's very apparent. The material is engaging. He thrives off class participation, but doesn't need it to lecture well. -Frequent quizzes and moderate tests- Enjoyed the class, professor & material. Study and you'll do well. He really cares about his students!
Dr. Dunn is a great professor. He's very friendly and understanding, he's clear about his expectations, there's quite a bit of reading, but it's interesting and easy to understand. I was kind of confused about the textbook situation because we used Macmillan online, so I purchased a book that was basically useless, but it was easy enough to return!
Professor Dunn had amazing lectures and easy homework. It was easy to reach out to him with questions and concerns. He values attendance and participation in class. He made human development memorable and fun with his personal stories and jokes.
Professor Dunn is the best. Not mandatory to attend, but he had study guides/follow along notes so if you go to class taking notes and knowing what is going to be on the test is easier. The final paper was a big paper, but as long as you follow the rubric you will be ok. I started mine the day before and got 196.5/200 Taken Spring 2020 semester.
I loved this professor!! Hes so helpful and makes class so fun
Dr Dunn is AMAZING. He is such an awesome teacher and is so passionate about what he teaches. His lectures are very interesting and you learn a lot. Your grade is mixed in with lots of different and easy assignments, discussions, one paper, and 4 tests. He makes it so if you get a 0/50 on every test, you can still pass! Take a class with Dr Dunn!
He is the best professor! His class is not very hard if you attend the lectures. There is not very many assignments compared to other classes! He is very caring and willing to help in anyway! He makes the lectures enjoyable and fun but gets the the point! 10/10!!
Professor Dunn is the awesomest. He's great at explaining the material, answering questions, and relating the things you're learning about to everyday life. The class isn't difficult and there's no busy work. He also opens up the material associated with each exam as you begin learning it, which is great if you like to work ahead a week or two.
Dr. Dunn is a nice guy, he cares for his students and what he is teaching. His class is not that hard but the chapter questions are hella time consuming. He tries to generalize the information you would learn in the chapter in his lectures, so you miss some info if you don't read the book. He lets you use a 3x5 card on the tests.
Hands down my favorite professor this semester! My experience was probably different than many as this was a "flex" class due to COVID-19 but he was super understanding and genuinely cared. His lectures are the perfect balance of giving you the necessary information and keeping it enjoyable and interesting! 10/10 would recommend!
I cannot recommend Dr. Dunn enough. He is an extremely engaging lecture, excellent holistic perspective on everything we study. We referenced McGraw-Hill readings and what happened in class so I really recommend attending. Very patient with questions, wants to see us succeed. We get 3x5 notecards on tests. Hopefully I'll have more classes with him.
This was by far my favorite class and professor ever. He has a great personality and makes the lectures interesting. There were weekly assignments and a 10 question quiz that goes with an assignment. The class was not hard and it is even easier if you participate in class trust me. He gives study guides before each unit exam. (There were 4)
The greatest teacher ever! Hes so kind and funny and replies to outside of class questions within 24 hours. He does everything he can to help you succeed.
Ryan is so passionate, understanding, and informative about his field of study. He is knowledgeable, humorous, and the work he assigns is applicative to experiences you'll most likely encounter in the field.
he is the best! the only prof I've loved enough to rate. He is so helpful and makes the class so fun and easy to understand. take any class from him! i took two and they were awesome!
Ryan has been my favorite professor throughout my who undergrad. This semester has been hard with getting married in the middle of it and having health complications with my husband. Ryan was super caring and willing to work with me through it all. His classes always have me laughing. Best professor out there!
I look forward to going to school because of this class. It's mostly a lecture-based topic, but Dr. Dunn knows how to keep a group engaged and attentive. As long as you do your work, you should be just fine. Seriously, the best
Dunn is amazing! Makes the class fun and interesting. I would recommend to everyone to take a class from him.
Prof. Dunn was engaging to listen to and you can tell that he really cares about his students. There are many assignments in this class which means that if you have trouble with a few, you can still easily get a good grade. Not an easy A but still enjoyable. He's quick to respond to emails and willing to talk outside of class.
Ryan is by the far the best professor I have ever had. He is so caring and willing to help you succeed. He'll go out of his way to meet with you and explain assignments more. I was gone for almost 2 weeks during his class and he was so willing to work with me on the things I missed. He explains materials so well and truly loves his job. Best one!
Dr. Dunn was my human development professor during my first semester of college and he was amazing! I really enjoyed his lectures, he always made sure to tie the developmental concepts into our lives. There are four tests throughout the term but no cumulative final. Amazing!
Dr. Dunn is a nice man. However, this class is nothing but pointless busy work. I already have a bachelor's degree, I took this as a pre-req for grad school. CHF 1500 is an intro general ed class and has more busy work than my upper division undergrad classes. Reading, videos, multiple assignments a week, tests, papers, etc. Avoid CHF 1500.
He's awesome and actually likes his job and you can tell. Big grading factors are 4 tests and an interview project which isn't too bad. Don't have to take tests in the testing center and you get a note card. Tests aren't too hard. Very similar to a psychology class so if you're thinking about that, this class is helpful. Good option for a gen ed
Super fun class, take it from Professor Dunn if spots are available! Assignments were straight forward and lectures are engaging and interesting!
He is without a doubt one of the best teachers and humans I have ever met! His passion for his students and his subject matter are almost palpable. He does everything he can to help his students succeed and grow. If I could, I would take every class in every topic from him!!!

Professor Dunn has a really good class environment. The class itself is decently difficult, but totally doable. Most all work is done in a small group. You will learn a lot and Professor Dunn really cares about his students. There are also a few short quizzes taken for credit on your own. If needing this class, I would take it with Dunn.

He is without a doubt my favorite college professor. He is super caring and understanding, his lectures are super captivating and interesting and he is personable and relatable. He makes sure you understand EVERY concept in class and will even go through exam reviews with you. He really gives no reason not to pass his class with flying colors.
He is amazing. Seriously, choose him if you do Human Development. He checks in with the class regularly, provides study helps, and is constantly cheering the class on. You can tell that he loves what he does. The only negative thing is McGraw Hill doesn't always line up with the quizzes and tests and such, but that's not necessarily his fault.
Very sweet professor. Every time I had a doubt on something he would email back fast, and would clarify. A lot of online reading and small quiz's but the Exams are pretty easy, easy teacher, easy credit! Recommend !
This guy was awesome at keeping lectures interesting and making me want to learn.
Caring professor. Class used lectures, textbook, and assignments to learn. Lectures reviewed textbook information. Would take again! Start the exam review assignments immediately to succeed!
Professor Dunn is one of my favorite professor's I've had here at Weber State. The class was very fascinating, the lectures were interactive and engaging, and he showed us on several occasions how much he genuinely cares about us. He is an awesome professor and I would recommend him to anyone.
He was literally such a great teacher! The homeworks you get 100% on just time consuming. The tests are done at home and fairly easy. One essay that was really easy and not a harsh grader. He is willing to work with you and really puts himself in your shoes.

This professor was awesome! He would always give feedback on assignments, he made it easy to contact him, there was meetings set up for those who needed help. He was always willing to help, answered questions quick. There is a lot of assignments but just stay on top of it! However, the assignments are interesting and easy to do!
This was a great class and very straightforward. It was easy. But there was a lot of homework each week. He responds very quickly.
Although attendance wasn't MANDATORY, I strongly suggest going. The material from lectures comes straight from the book which saved me a lot of time from reading and made homework/tests SUPER easy. Super sweet professor as well. Inspired me to decide on my minor and I'm currently taking another class from him now. LOVE him.
He is a very energetic professor, especially for a morning class. He knows his stuff and has lots of resources for you to learn it too. He makes the class more enjoyable by adding comedian clips, funny ads, and kahoots. He makes sure to teach things that are applicable outside of class, teaching students to be prepared for life not just the exams.
Everything was pretty easy, there was just a lot of it. Tests were VERY easy, the study guides were kinda annoying but you're allowed notes on the tests (they are online on Canvas) so it's whatever. They're worth 5 points you could probably skip them and be fine. I skipped the final essay and still passed, don't recommend doing that though.
Dr. Dunn is the best professor I had throughout my entire college experience. I credit much of my growth and inspiration to him. I learned so much in his courses! You will do great, and he is always there to support and help you.
Dr. Dunn is an amazing professor, he actually cares about your life outside of school and wants you to succeed in every aspect of life. His class does require time and work there are a few textbooks that require reading but it is worth it. I learned so much from Charles, I would take all my classes from him if I could.
Professor Dunn was an awesome professor! All he expects of you is participation and trying your best, although he does grade fairly strictly. He is easy to communicate with and always replies to emails promptly. This class has a lot of homework and quizzes so just do your reading and you'll pass easily.
Professor Dunn will teach you a lot. It will come at a price of a very heavy homework load and a lot of stressful nights. I learned a ton, but I wouldn't retake the class if given the choice. His class's homework load was equal to that of my 15 other credit hours. He is very lecture heavy, but videos give same info.
Dr. Dunn was amazing, his lectures were so fun and engaging! Always enjoy coming into his classroom and listening to him. There's a good amount of homework/reading assignments but it's all accessible through the semester. So as long as you get ahead it's not hard to stay on top of things. He's also very understanding. Would highly recommend him.
Professor Dunn is fantastic! He always keeps class lively and entertaining. The class has lots of assignments, but there's a lot of material in an introductory course. They're always simple, and he's really understanding about late work as well. Definitely would recommend as a general if you want to learn some good life skills!
Dr. Dunn is amazing I would 100% take his class again. He is passionate about what he does. There is a lot of reading for the assignments, but the questions aren't hard. Tests can be taken at home, and you can use a notecard. His lectures are entertaining, and he describes material well.
Dr Dunn is THE BEST. Seriously the best professor I've had at Weber State. He stands out from all my other professors because I can tell he genuinely wants you to succeed, not just complete assignments. He gave great feedback on assignments and was willing to change class plans to meet our needs.
Professor Dunn was a good teacher. You can feel his passion for the subject and teaching. Like some of the other reviews have said, it is very work heavy. I took this as a first block class, and in order to get through it, there was something due almost every day by midnight, including some Saturdays. A LOT of reading. Quizzes, assignments, paper.
Dr. Dunn is definitely my favorite professor I have had. I've taken nearly everything I can take from him. Would definitely recommend.
Professor Dunn is an awesome and nice guy and always engages people and makes learning fun and relatable. The class is very easy but is homework heavy with around 50 assignments, signature assignments are easy and really relatable to the subject. Lectures are great and fun.
