This is easily the best professor I've had. Errico is outstanding. He co-authors the book you use for US HIS. Attendance is important. Fortunately, I'd pay just to sit and listen to him tell stories. No forced date memorization. Nicest guy around.

Mr. Errico is probably the best history teacher I have ever had. He makes things interesting, involves the class, and has a good class structure.

Excellent and helpful teacher. Very understanding. Tests are multiple choice and one essay. All you have to do is study the lecture notes and read stories. (Just as any other class) Makes it interesting and allows you to have discussions.

Great class! I've had a lot of bad, unprepared professors, and he is NOT one of them. The videos are fascinating, the text is incredibly informative and the course requirements are straightforward. This class does take a good deal of time, but it is worth it.

Take this man's class. He's a smart guy and you'll learn alot. The homework assignments are kind of heavy (if you're a slacker), but they are pretty interesting. The subject matter is stuff everybody should know. You can't consider yourself a college graduate unless you've taken at least 6 history credits. Good guy A++++

Dr. Errico is amazing. He is such a great guy and really cares about his students. He makes his lectures very interesting and keeps the attention of the class. He knows his stuff, he is co-author of the text book that you use in his classes. Take his class, you won't be disappointed.

Attention!Attention! DO take his class but make sure you notice each and everything he says during his lectures. He is good teacher and i have a lot of fun. But i can barely understand wat he wants in his test. If you are a person that can keep your attention, you can surely take it.

I've never learned so much from such an easy class. He is by far the best teacher at NOVA. There is no reason not to take this class! Reading is required, but its a collection of essays from famous historians like Mccullough. He doesn't take attendance, but his lectures are interesting enough that you'll enjoy going to class. Took his 6 week summer course. lots of reading but he is so organized with his 3 packets for the test. 1 for lecture, 1 for video and 1 for reading. easy to follow.

this is the best professor ever. his class is very easy so far as you reaad your text book you will pass his class. if u read all the notes he gives there is an assurance for A because all his tests comes from those notes. very nice teacher

You can tell he has been teaching for a long time, because he is so thorough in what he does, and helps you understand. Its not a typical boring History class. He tells you things about our famous people in the past, that they dont teach you when you are young!! He keeps it intresting and is an EXCELLENT Teacher! His class is always full!

Great Professor!! Extremely helpful..and he loves his subject. He brings History to life. You have to do the readings, if you do your readings and pay attention to what he says in class you will with out a doubt get an A. Also do the essay quiz if at all possible.

His book is the most interesting history text I've ever read - he covers all the "juicy" parts of history. He obviously loves the subject and he talks about it with you almost conversationally. Cares about his students, overall a great guy.

Greatest teacher ever, if everyone teached like him, the whole world would get A's at least the hard working students. There is alot of information and you have to do a little reading, but if you pay attention youll get an A easily, he also gives out tons of extra credit field trips and papers

Dr. Errico is my favorite professor at NVCC. His teaching style is created in a way that anyone will be able to learn. You learn the material through readings, notes, class lecture and videos. I took his 6 week summer class for His 121. It was an easy A. There are a lot of reading requirements but there were only 3 grades total. And that was 2 exams and 1 paper in which you had to visit to places to write. Never would I have thought I'd get an A in a history course that lasted 6 weeks. But he made it easy.

Friendly and smart professor. His classes are interesting. Be sure to fill out the study packets in class. They're not for a grade but used for your own notes--they come in really handy for exams. Take the written tests instead of multiple choice; he's more lenient on your answers if you explain the concepts in your own words.

Great Professor, he gives you the time of day. Very easy going, and gives study guides to aid in all four tests. If you do the reading, and complete the study packets, the tests are a breeze. No other grades except for tests.

Best Teacher Ever. He was really simple and easygoing and if you go to class he pretty much gives you everything your going to need to know for the exam. I would recommend the essay choice for the exams but you also have the option of doing just a multiple question/ true and false type too. Great!

TAKE THIS CLASS! Best money I ever spent. His class is very interesting even if you do not interested in history. He has a study guide which is exactly what will be on the test. You must read to do well on the tests, he gives you the study guide but he does not spoon feed you all the answers. He uses interesting videos which are on the test as well

Such a good teacher. I recommend him completely I wish every history teacher was like him. I have an A average in the class and it is not because it is a super easy class but if you do the readings and work on your study packet you will pass the class, no doubt! Buy the study packets and read the chapters and the tests will be a breeze.

By far the best professor I've had this semester! His lectures are interesting and have taught me alot. As long as you read his assignments and review the lecture notes the tests will be easy. This guy really knows his stuff, i definitely recommend him.

BUT i will admit he's a very good teacher. i loved taking his class!!! your grade really depends on your effort. you MUST read all of the assigned lectures, be in class he will review what you read. he won't care if you miss class but you will lose on the long run. your study guide is your test.. good luck

One of best teachers I ever have in college. He expecting you to read the book and fill out the questions on the packets. Most packets questions and notes related to the Tests. There're only four test, no final exam or quizzes. Even you don't like history at all, I guarantee you that this course will be interesting and easy to get A/B.

Amazing teacher. No room to really slack off. Very funny. Show up for class is extremely mandatory because if you don't show up then you will miss a lot of valuable information. But his office hours are perfect.

He knows a lot about history, and even introduces new information that you would have never known, but this class, if at all possible, was way too easy. Like I felt like I needed a tougher course? That being said, I am a history major and I could pass all the exams without going to class. If you aren't into history and want any course, take it.

I enjoyed his class so much. I never thought I would like history but he convinced me that there is a lot of knowledge that should be revealed to every individual. Not forced but voluntarily learning he material was the way i felt in class.

They had to drag me kicking and screaming into a history class. After the first one with Dr. Erico, I can't get enough. He has a unique talent for making history come alive. He makes use of the fact that a great deal of our history started in and around Northern Virginia. I would take any class of his any time. None better.

Because he is from Ohio, Charles has a cool accent. His lectures aren't very in depth, but interesting. The homework is always to read maybe 8-15 pages out of the textbook each class to give one-word answers to 20ish questions. He doesn't take attendance, but a portion of the tests are dedicated to things from lecture, that you can copy from a bud.

He is a great teacher, very easy if you pay attention to the lectures. He tests heavy on them and on the videos he shows in class.

If you're not a huge fan of history this is the professor to take. Tests heavy on lectures and readings. Only four tests total. He reqires at least one to be multiple choice with an essay, but the other three can be either straight multiple choice or multiple choice with essay. Offers extra credit.

Dr. Charles Errico is a great professor. His class is very informative and he focuses primarily on the lesser known events in history to include more in depth on topics you probably learned in high school. Would take his class again.

Unlike many history teachers, this professor doesnt sugar coat history. He is very charismatic and helps students to better themselves, offering help whenever they need it. The class is easy as long as you keep up with the basic assignments.

Dr. Errico is a fantastic professor. Much of the class is reading the textbook and making notes on it and taking notes on the lecture. Grades are based on 4 tests or papers but Dr. Errico is a fairly easy grader. He loves history and is fantastic at teaching it. He encourages every student to develop their own opinion and views on everything.

easy course, he is very understanding with the pandemic we are currently in. gave me extensions on all of my papers. and doesnt give lower grades if you turn in the 4 papers late. he only gives you 4 papers (2 being answer 8 questions and 2 being 4 page essay) in the whole semester EXTREMELY EASY COURSE TAKE HIS CLASS IF YOU HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY

I took HIS 121 in 8 weeks. Professor was the best! He is very obviously an expert and knows what he is talking about. Grade was based on 3 essays and he gave written feedback on each one. He is very understanding and relaxed with deadlines. It was fun to be in his class because he explained everything well and was very kind. 10/10 highly recommend!

It is very rare to have an inspirational, interesting, and passionate History professor. He is very easy-going, understanding, and always listens to student's problems. His lecture is very interesting and informative. I would not say that his class is an easy A. You have to work for it and he is gonna make it work for you. No grade under C!!!!

Prof. Errico is the best history professor you will ever find. He is very professional and really knows his subject. Small workload. MUST ATTEND CLASS. He gives clear grading criteria in lectures. I doubt you could get higher than a B if you don't attend lectures. Easy A.

This class was pretty easy. You have to attend class, all the answers are clearly stated in lectures. You don't need to do any online research. Textbook is $15 on amazon, you need it for the class. He is very smart, you'll learn a lot about history from him. Webcams are optional.

Exceptional teacher. Very well informed. We used his book, and the 'only' three assignments,which are essays, are all from it. Every class, we discuss the essay, and he guides you through the process of writing it. Was a brief summer course, but it was easily one of my best. Put in minimal effort, completed the essays, and received an A. Take him!!

4 test and they are spread out evenly through out the semester, Test are super easy and you get a study packet for that specific test. Super understanding. Don't have to show up to class but I recommend you do so you can get the lecture notes. Overall a great and easy class and a even better professor.

I loved Prof. Errico! Passionate about history and cares for his students. His lectures aren't bad, plays many videos to help you remember the material. There only 4 exams throughout the course which will be averaged into your final grade, so no final. As long as you read the book and do you homework (not required but it helps a lot) its an easy A!

I took Prof. Errico for both 121 & 122. He rarely uses any kind of powerpoints & talks to the camera (virtual class). Only 4 "essays" required & he provides the writing prompts/questions. Everything comes directly from the textbook and no outside research. As long as you read the chapters and answer the questions, you will easily get an A or B.

I took a 6 week summer class: only 3 papers and each is a 1/3 of your grade. Professor Errico is very lenient on due dates and gives extra credit if you participate in class. Not at all a harsh grader, either. Textbook required, but it was a very easy-to-read textbook! I am so glad I was able to take his class! I strongly recommend him!

One of the best professors!! I took an online summer class it was literally a breeeeze. Only three writing assignments and you have about two-three weeks to finish. Does not care about format AT ALL. just wants to see your point of view on things and gives GREAT and helpful feedback..definitely taking all my history classes with him!!!

Professor Errico is by far my favorite Professor. He teaches you the more human side of history and makes you see historical figures for who they really are. As long as you keep up with your readings and dont miss much class, you will easily pass with an A. His assignments are not hard at all, and neither are his exams.

He teaches the course with passion, with such charism that really helps you understand the topic and he really cares for his students understanding the topic. Everything on his worksheets are exactly on his tests and he just really cares about his students!!

He is probably the most knowledgeable professor at NOVA. He helped write the textbook used and gives a lot of extra info in lectures not in the book (needed for the papers so attend class). Fast grading, can email drafts of papers if you need help, and lots of great feedback on assignments. Easy going and very kind. Would take him again 10/10!

Super sweet guy. Took a 6 week course with him and it was by far the easiest 6 week class I've ever taken. You're only graded by 3 papers, and he doesn't care about what format so long as you answer the essay questions and show that you've been listening to his lectures and reading the textbook, which is a really easy-to-read textbook!

The 6 week course is only 3 papers and he is aware that students have other responsibilites. He gives extensions to the class and you can email him your drafts for feedback. The zooms are summeries of the chapters and he ends class early. I do recommend taking your time on the papers and being detailed (that's where I fell short and got a B).

Professor Errico is a very charismatic and lively professor. Attendance isn't mandatory but recommended because his lectures are key for the essays and test questions. If he's repeating something in every class, even if it seems trivial, chances are it'll be on the test. Be aware, exams are the only graded material. Use office hours!

AMAZING PROFESSOR, super understanding, gives ample time to complete assignments, and his lectures weren't boring at all :)!. You do need to buy the textbook but it isn't expensive at all and the textbook material was very interesting. Would definitly reccomend taking this class!

I can't say enough about this professor. He is one of my favorite professors of all time. The course had three writing assignments, that's it. Each writing assignment is 1/3 of your overall grade. It was a seven-week virtual class, and everything was just perfect about it. TAKE HIM!!

Professor Errico provides you all the information you will need for every paper very clear, all you have to do is to attend his lectures and note his outlines and reading material. He is great at providing you feedback for your draft paper before submitting the real assignment.

If Dr. Errico had more classes I would take them, I've taken both of his classes, online and in person. He is by far the most amazing professor I've ever had in my college career, if you just listen and take notes the class is the easiest A you'll ever get, 4 assignments and that's it. Dr. Errico (aka the goat) is genuinely passionate about his job

This teacher was amazing, this class only has 4 assignments which are all papers that are the easiest to write. he gives all the needed information in his zoom meetings so the papers were all a breeze. he is also very flexible with the due dates.

BEST PROFESSOR EVER! Easy to follow lectures and can tell he's passionate. HW is easy, just answer questions as you read (he helped write part of the book and it's ~$25) Only graded work are 4 exams (no cumulative final) which have MCQ and an essay of choice, he tells you the topics in advance. Replies to emails fast and very kind, take him!

Professor Errico makes this history course engaging and manageable. Attend the lectures, use the provided resources, and you'll do well. The papers are straightforward if you stay on top of them. I found unstuck ai helpful for exam prep too.

Professor Errico was a good teacher, he answered questions and his homework goes in hand with the tests. You don't have to attend class to get participation points. You have a textbook that you will use for all the homework and the information in it goes perfectly for tests. As long as you do your homework, you will succeed in the class.

Mr Errico is such a kind and caring professor. he teaches with such a passion i always feel engaged in the topic. he is always eager to help out however he can and loves when students engage during lectures, he burns brightest when he sees his students igniting their fire within to his lectures! if your looking for a good professor, he is the one!

Extremely effective in teaching and very supportive throughout the course. Explained concepts clearly and made sure everyone had the opportunity to succeed and earn a good grade.

A very nice man who is passionate about history. Insightful lectures, barely had to study because he would make everything memorable. One book for hw readings, which were on tests. Provided packets to take notes, only grades are 4 tests. Lecture, going over the reading, and a video in each class. Unlimited test time, wants everyone to succeed!
