Very interesting and open-minded. I don't know what they're talking about when they say monotonous, he's actually one of the more lively teachersat Dade (no comment). He's nice, easy, and merciful. Not to mention very intelligent.

He is outstading but he drives crazy because he makes you think. Yes, he does have a monotonous voice and sometimes you want to stay in class but I took him over the 6 week period in the summer and I earned an A. He is helpful and gives xtra credit.

Very good professor. He's kind of a hippie. Very liberal and makes no secret about that and his opinions, but he doesn't make you feel wrong for disagreeing. He does give you something interesting to think about though. He's a very cool person. His lectures/discussions are more interesting than lectures usually are.

Dr. Fink is awesome. His lectures are always interesting and easy to understand. He is also very fair, a real nice guy. An easy "A" if you put some degree of effort into it.

He grades fairly and gives an excellent study guide but Dr. Fink has an agenda and wants his students to adopt it. There is very little critical thinking allowed and disenting views are not well received. His ethics are shared by the likes of Peter Singer.

He's an amazing guy! I loved going to his class. I found him to be very interesting! He makes people open their minds to things they don't usually think about (if you're interested). His tests might appear to be difficult but he grades on a serious curve. He's very nice and very easy to talk to and gives chances. Doesn't let you fail. Very sweet!

Decent teacher. He goes off topic from time to time. But he doesn't test on anything that he hasn't emphasized in his lectures. Classes are fairly interesting. And he's big into animal rights, which was a plus for me.

He lectures, but he's funny. He keeps things interesting and clear. He's very clear on what you need to know before the test, and if you do the book reports early on, you will be fine. Show up, pay attention and let the philosophy sink in... don't fight it...it makes no sense sometimes, but it's not supposed to. Very Interesting class.

If you pay attention, read the book, and do the book report, you will get an A. He's a good professor. He knows his stuff. He wishes he could convert everyone in the world to vegetarianism, but other than that, he's cool! At first you may think he's obnoxious, arrogant, and condescending, but that changes after the 3rd class.

Critical thinking and ethics, lets face it the class doesn't sound interesting, but Finks odd personality makes it fun. His "unexpected" quizes are fairly simple. He reviews the tests a class in advance. All in all, the class really moved me. By the way, by the end of the semester there's a chance you'll become a vegetarian. =)

That's true about what the other person said about the books! There expensive and I think I read them only a few times. He is a very nice man and a great teacher to top off! The reason probably why some people think he is boring is because maybe they don't think his jokes are funny. I thought the course was very interesting.

This man honestly has been the teacher who has opened my eyes and changed my life. Im not some dorky student who likes school, but this guy is awesome. Oh and if you go, it's the easiest A you will ever ever get. He is the nicest guy Ive ever met. He wont fail you, he believes in Karma. lol

He explains the basics of philosophy in a very relatable way. Encourages students to have interesting class discussions. He will tell you where to study for the test, not all of the test material is covered in in-class lectures. His test are pretty easy though.

Very easy class. Professor has a great sense of humor. Always open for debate. Comes up with crazy hypothetical situations that make you go "WTF?" but help you understand what he's talking about.

I love Professor Fink! He helps you to open your mind about different ideas, situations, and helps you to figure out why we do the things we do. The class is an easy A if you open your mind and listen to what he has to say. Studying is important to get an A but he makes it super easy with handouts. It was overall an enjoyable class .

I love Professor Fink! I had him for PHI 2010 & 2604 and he was great! Not only is he intelligent and super funny but he gives you handouts in the beginning of the semester with study questions for each chapter. All you need to do is answer them and study them prior to the test.. Reading will help to but sooo not a hard class!

DONT buy the books. His tests are not too hard. The class is pretty interesting, and he likes to debate, but all arguments end in jokes so its all cool. He is funny. If you want an A all you need to do is do the extra credit encyclopedia reports and watch some movies. Easy class, though he doesn’t teach much.

I ended with a B but mainly cuz i never paid attention in class. all u hav to do in his class is take lots of class notes! he reviews the day previous to the test. one bad thing is that you dont get to know which questions u got wrong :( he is a funny and nice professor though!! if u have to take philosophy, i suggest u him, author of the txtbook!

ok so he's an awesome professor and he's interesting and funny and really smart but the tests are really hard!! It is pertinent that you read the chapters (which read kind of confusingly)or you will bomb the tests..The only reason i passed with a C is because he lets you do an unlimited amount of extra credit.

Dr. Fink's class was great! My favorite part of his class were the essay portions of the exams because you got to express yourself on specific ethical topics. He's wonderful and extremely funny. His class is not hard if you read the textbook and study.

Hes a real intellectual person, very fun to talk to although his logic class was ridiculously (i got a C in it) difficult I still enjoyed going to class.

Very easy class. I'm a straight A student. To get an A in the class you just need to take notes of his lectures (which aren't a lot), answer the study guide thoroughly and review your notes before the test. He makes class interesting, he DOESN'T talk about himself, and assigns no hw. 3 tests, easy A. Tests aren't tricky if you study. You'll be fine

If you have a job dont take this class, only if you have the time to go to his "events" or speeches/movies in order to pass or get a decent grade. he is obsessed with peter singer and animals, (all extra credit essays have to be about animals) also dont take him if you dont want to see some horrible videos of animals getting slaughtered.

He is one of the coolest professors, wait, no...human beings I have ever met. His classes are so much fun and real eye-openers, and always fill up fast. (And yes, I do find his skinny-Jerry-Garcia look to be hot - his intelligence and compassion even more so). The man is mesmerizing, and I took him for 3 classes.

I love this professor. He is the BEST. That's it. All those that have said that they are straight A student and passed with C only for the extracredits, let me tell you one thing: The straight A students not even need the extra credit, only use your brilliant mind, or remember how was that you got A in previous classes (maybe cheating).

Passed the class with an A. Make sure you go to the movies for extra credit or you are asking for trouble. Only took three tests and had a review. Everything on the test is what he discussed in class. TAKE NOTES!!!

Mr. Fink is a great professor. He will allow you to do extra credit movie reviews (do them!). You will need to do a few assignments in the ethics center (do them!). The first exam is very hard; the highest grade in my class was a B-. Memorize the argument names and structures and this test won't be so hard. I didn't do so great on the first exam, but still got an A in the course so don't be scared if you mess up on an exam. Be open minded.. This prof changed my life. He is fun and intellectual.

He is an AMAZING professor! The textbook Moral Reasins was written by him, and is very interesting. He makes you look at things in a way you'd never think you would. If you don't study for his tests you will NOT pass them! Also, he gives extra credit... do it! Great guy, and has an awesome personality!

He's a great teacher. I can understand how people who don't like this subject can get confused because there are alot of concepts you need to remember. Favorite teacher by far. He doesn't even take attendance half the time but I come anyways because the lecture is great. He presents the subject very clearly, makes examples, and answers questions. Best of all, he opens your mind and makes you really think. If you're extremely closed minded you probably should take this class, but you won't like it.

The only teacher I know that gives such great extra credit. You just have to attend a couple lectures that are both interesting and eye opening then write your opinion on it. This guy really knows his stuff. You'll benefit as a person by taking this class. Like it's said below he really makes you think, but there are people who don't like that.

Initially, I HATED this class, and I told him this lol. The first 2 weeks or so will make you a little uneasy, especially if you are religeous, but his intentions aren't to offend you. Dr.Fink lectures about topics in his book. He makes info clear and breaks up lectures using class discussion.class eye opening and the prof is very nice. This is not an easy class. however hi is clear and explain exactly what you need to learn. He will keep you in class from the beginning to the end. Tons of extra credits, I recommend you to do them all since that is a warrantee of a good grade. For the exams you have to study and the last one is the easiest one. Hi is a great professor.

The slackest course in philosophy. The examples he uses are hilarious and he himself is quite charming. Advice: do all the handouts before class and use the book. The categorical statement portions are pretty tough. Overall, awesome professor. I truly recommend.

Very interesting class. I learned a lot from him. He holds discussions and plays movies from time to time. There is a research paper on your ideal form of government, so prepare for that. But he's awesome. This guy was my mentor.

Great professor hard course! I took Intro to Philosophy with a different professor and it was just as hard! All I can say is put your best foot forward and you'll come out with a decent grade. And do the extra credits it helps a great deal!!!

I took Critical thinking & ethics with Dr. Fink and needless to say it was the easiest course I've ever taken it in Miami-dade...There's 3 tests and some extra credits.. If you are even a little conservative, be prepared to be insulted. Very biased views on politics and examples are all quite skewed to force a particular answer. Tests are easy as long as you read/listen in class. There is a lot of discussion & you won't be bored unless you tune out.

Great teacher, 3 test, and multiple chances for extra credit. Impossible to fail, attendance helps but not really required. You could survive with out the book.

Likes to joke around with students and gives a review the day before the exam. Make sure to read and understand the review in order to pass the three exams. If you don't attend the class or read the book, you won't pass at all.

Challenging, hilarious, interesting. He literally wrote the book we use, so his lectures are like an elaboration on the chapter. He's friendly, but his tests REQUIRE STUDYING! Not many tests, and you have to read. A lot of conversation on ethical debates, rape, abortion, vegetarianism. His subject reflects mainly on the view point of the theorists and not on your view point, and the terminology can get confusing. Extra credit on watching movies and writing reflection papers on them. Its not a difficult class.

He talks a lot and doesn't waste one minute, but he's funny and often tries to explain things in comparison to what the students are interested in so it makes it easy to understand, attendance isn't mandatory but i recommend if you wanna understand what he's talking about. Tests are multiple choice but you definitely need to study. RECOMMEND HIM

Really nice guy, he's very knowledgable and super accommodating. There's 3 tests but he teaches you everything you need to know and gives a ton of extra credit. I learned a lot in his class and would take him again. You do have to study but its not a stressful class. Aced the class and really enjoyed his lectures/discussions.

Great professor. As long as you get past the first test, which is a beast, the rest of the class will be smooth sailing. YOU MUST READ THE BOOK!!!! He spends a lot of time talking about different scenarios and will ask you questions. it's a great class but you must interact. Don't be a bum!

I took Dr. Fink for Logic, and I thought he did a very good job. He's a doctor, and he knows his stuff. He uses a packet, not a book, for his class. He is a good teacher, and is very kind to his students. He brings up controversial topics in class so get ready to argue. To close, I was very happy to have taken his class, and I recommend him to all.

Fink is an okay professor. At times he can get distracted too easily. If you're lost and ask him to clarify a concept, he simply repeats what he says without explaining things differently. Still, he does his job and teaches you what you need to know for the class. Logic is like another math class, so keep that in mind.

In my experience I thought he was a brilliant. Although my class was 3+ hours T/TR I enjoy every minute of it that it felt class ended too quick. He was very clear with each topic & helped us understand the subject clearly. As off topic as it is, I find older men attractive especially intellectual men so naturally I had a an innocent crush on him.

Fink is really cool, he'll make u laugh. Sometimes he'll counter your perfectly logical answer with something contradictory or rude, but its unintentional. His vegan argument is a little too down your throat, be ready. Overall an easy class. Why does he remind me of a wacky smart ass psychologist from a comedy film?

Easy class, just read his book, attend class, and do the study guide and your will pass. The class is interesting and the professor is funny. There will be some debates regarding some topics. There are 3 test, 3 extra credit written assignments that are really easy, and 3 extra credit films to watch. Take advantage of this it will help your grade.

Professor Fink is amazing! i took him for PHI1100 and PHI2604 and he makes everything so easy. Ethics can get a little bring because all he does is talk but he explains the material really well. Professor Fink is so understanding. He will try to help you the best he can. There are only 3 short essays (1 to 2 pages) and 2 tests that consist of 50 multiple choice questions.

Very interesting dude. Class is graded by few things so make sure to study for the exams. Other than that it is a breeze. Lectures can sometimes get really boring, just depends what you're interested in.

He's certainly a wacky guy, to say the least, but it's precisely this that made his class so fun. He's always cracking jokes and even makes inside jokes with the class that he uses to make lectures more interesting (ex: RAUL!! (if ya know, ya know)). Just take notes during class and read the tiny chapters he assigns, and you'll pass for sure.

Great lecturer, sometimes the material is a biiiiit dry, however a lot of the time he can capture your attention pretty well with a good class debate. No textbook. Just a small little book he made himself. Easy material, and easy tests.

I had a great time in his class. My grades weren't GREAT, its a hard class, but I loved how down-to-earth he is. Hes funny and witty. I was confused most of the class because it's all about morality - it makes you examine your beliefs- but in the end, I actually enjoyed it. He gives extra credit and 3 short essay assignments and 3 tests. 9/10

Hes very kind and always tries to engage with his students, the material can sometimes be little boring but overall a fairly easy class. You do have to buy his book and study off of that for the tests, he requires 3 essays their literally 250 words, easiest assignment ever! He was chill and always told jokes, he was fun teacher to have.

Professor Fink in my opinion is an amazing and knowledgeable professor. I thought this class was going to be boring, but it actually got my attention. This class helped me see life from a different perspective. The assignments were interesting and from a book he wrote himself. I recommend taking Professor Fink.

He is a pretty good professor. He tends to talk quite a bit and tries very hard to get you to see his point of view, however, he makes the textbook and it is free. The extra credit is slightly questionable, but it makes you think. He cares very much for his students and you can go to him for homework help and he will provide. A good choice.

This course is very difficult and this professor really tried his hardest to ensure that everyone passes. He emailed the class after every exam with great feedback, posted videos on the material, and changed his grading scale to accommodate to us. Logic isnt an easy subject, its something you have to put time and effort to fully understand.

Please dont listen to the negative reviews this professor actually helped us through it all. There are 4 quizzes for each chapter and 1 test at the end. Each quiz are 15 mins with 15 questions, but lately he has extended it to 20 mins to give us more time. The questions in the textbook are in the quizzes, so all you have to do is study thematerial

This class was the most difficult class I have ever took, but I truly learned a lot from it. He makes his own textbook so you dont have to buy the book. Also, he gives us a link to textbook questions to practice on. Overall, dont listen to the negative reviews. He was great and very helpful throughout the entire course. Be prepared to study a lot

We were graded by nine quizzes and three tests, along with three essay assignments. The only way to pass the class is by actually devoting hours to reading and studying the material. Take lots of notes. Also, groupchats were banned in this class and he only gives a minute per question on quizzes and test. 10 questions10 min. 60 question60 min.

there is no homework in this class just pure quizzes and 3 essays. he gives you a minute per question in the quizzes during class time. you will actually have to read the book to understand, he records his lectures, The completion of the study guides is optional but it helps for the quizzes.

I had a great time in Professor Fink's class; almost everybody else did not! So long as you don't take this class in the first semester of college, and are prepared to dedicate 2 hours a week to learning the material, you will be okay. If you do not do this, then you will be one of the people in the group chat whining about your very first D.

Professor Fink is very fair, he likes everything done on time and always will take the time to read your assignment and give you a proper feedback, he is very professional and not impossible to obtain an A.
