This class is amazing! Class is only one day a week and everything is online. Professor Hall is very entertaining and makes class very enjoyable. Would highly recommend!

He absolutely loves what he does and loves plants, and wants you to love plants too. By far my favorite course this semester. I hope everyone gets to take this course before they leave A&M. Such a great professor that really cares about doing what's best for his students. Loved all his lectures and he works with you if you happen to miss an assignment. Howdy said we would meet on both Tues and Thurs but its actually a hybrid class.

Friendliest and funniest professor I have ever had. Sociohorticulture may sound boring to you, but he makes it super interesting and you actually end up caring about the material. The easiest class I've taken so far as well, as long as you go to class ONCE EVERY WEEK, and do the easy online hw ONCE EVERY WEEK, you'll get an A.

This is the easiest 3.0 credit class you'll take. There are weekly "quizzes" and discussions which are so easy. There are lots of giveaway gifts (plants) that he gives to the students. He changes your perspective on plants and really cares about the course. You'll get an A if you do even the most minimal work.

Dr. Hall as a genuinely good guy. Class is easy and tests are online. Only downside is if you're in introvert you won't like it because you've got to chat with your neighbors during every class. Overall easy. Service learning project was annoying but graded easy.

If you show up and put forth effort (even if minimal) you should get an A. There's homework every week, but it is really easy. His lectures are pretty interesting and FREE PLANTS (even though all of mine died). There are two tests and they were both online and I got results within the day both times. Would highly recommend.

This was one of my favorite classes at TAMU. Dr. Hall is really enthusiastic about horticulture which brings the lecture to life. Weekly quizzes and discussion questions but they aren't that bad. I highly recommend this class to anyone looking to take it. I have learned so much from this class. Also, only have class one day a week which is a plus.

Charles Hall is by far the best prof I have had yet. I absolutely love his way of teaching and interacting with his students he cares so much and allows for lots of extra credit (which count for overall grade). No tests, weekly online quizzes and easy discussion posts. One service project which is easy!! PLUS HE GIVES FREE YOU FREE PLANTS!!!

By far the easiest and most fun class I have taken at A&M. The class is easy and only one day a week. All you have to do is make sure you do the weekly quiz and discussion every week and the in-class activity and you are on your way to an A. The Service Learning Project was very do-able and he offers 5 different extra credit opportunities. 10/10

One of my favorite classes that I have taken so far. I had this class on T/TH but we only met on Tuesdays. There were assignments each week but it was a discussion and a quiz over the topic you were learning. He gives out surprise plants every few weeks and give a lot of extra credit opportunities.

Like everyone has said this class is super easy. It's hard not to get an A. Dr. Hall is also a great professor though, so go to class! He makes it enjoyable. There were in-class quizzes for attendance but a lot of people would take them from home.

Dr. Hall is such a great prof! Please take his class! Literally just show up (his lectures are always actually pretty entertaining) and he also gives free plants! He is so funny and really loves what he does. Before leaving TAMU take a class with him. So easy to pass and you barely even have to try. He's just a cool dude.

Show up to class and do your weekly assignments and you will get an A. Go to class because he does in-class activities that can effect your grade if you don't do them.

Dr. Hall is an amazing professor. I took this class for an ICD credit and GPA booster. As long as you do the homework and show up to class (only once a week) you should have no problem passing this class with a B or A. His extra credit is extremely easy and adds on to your final grade. It raised my final grade from an 88 to a 93. Also free plants!

Dr. Hall is amazing. He really engages his students and cares about what he's teaching. This is one of the most interesting classes I've taken and I'm a psych major. Dr. Hall is a stand-up guy who is genuinely excited to teach his students about Sociohorticulture. On the first day of class, he danced to some music and went around greeting students as they walked in. I look forward to going to his class every week, especially since we sometimes get a free plant to take home for coming to class!

This guy is absolutely amazing. Not only one of the easiest classes I have ever taken but I actually wanted to go to class. There is an online quiz and discussion due the next week as preparation for the next lecture. He is so energetic and such a great guy and you can tell he is very enthusiastic about plants all the time and it is great.

This man literally changed my life. I was literally living in the slums of India until Charles Hall pulled me out of the depths of hell and gave me a second chance at life. You will not find a better quality man in the entire world. I dare to say that this man may even be a divine being. He literally lives in a higher plan of existence.

I took HORT 335 to fulfill a credit that I need to graduate and it was definitely the smart way to go. Dr. Hall has such a passion for what he teaches, it resonates into his lectures and into the students. Easy class, minimal homework, class only meets on Tues (scheduled T/R). Bonus: gives out free plants! Hard to not get an A.

If you need a GPA boost, take this class. You can almost do nothing and get an A. Exams are online. Professor Hall sometimes brings his dog Honeybear to class and she's precious. He gives out free plants and lots of extra credit.

Best class ever. Dr. Hall is the best professor I've ever had. This class is insanely easy and if you're willing to go to class (only meets once a week) you're essentially guaranteed an A. Two steps: 1. Go to Class 2. Make an A. -- Dr. Hall is an awesome guy and he really cares about making HORT 335 interesting. The class shows as a two day but you only meet in person one day each week. I highly recommend this class to anyone who needs a GPA boost or just a boost in happiness. :-)

This man is an angel. Sometimes you get to see his dog who is also an angel. He genuinely enjoys what he's teaching, he's a brilliant man who has written several papers on the subjects he's teaching, but he doesn't teach in a boring, "read it off the slide" style. Honestly the best teacher I've ever had. I wish he taught another class I could take.

I saw attendance was not mandatory but go to class and you will get a bonus most of the time, great professor total worth taking if you need the credit.

I would recommend this class to anyone needing to take a Social and Behavioral Sciences class. No textbook needed, Easy weekly quiz with all the answers being very easy to find. Every week there is a lecture, some readings, and a weekly quiz, which is generally very easy as long as you understand the readings. Additionally, Dr. Hall gave us 3 extra credit points and he orders 4 free plants throughout the semester for students. He is a genuinely amazing person and great professor!

Probably my favorite professor, he has days throughout the year that you can get a free plant from him. The entire course is graded by 2 tests and a project: The tests are open note and you have all day for the midterm, like 2 weeks for the final, and the entire course for the project. He has good lectures but frequently gets off topic lol.

Professor Hall is hands down one of the greatest professors I have taken at this school, I highly recommend taking him for this class. The class is made up of 2 exams (33.3% each) and a community service project (33.4%). He offers around 2-4 extra credit points on your course grade as well. Show up to class for free exam questions and answers.

Dr. Hall is a great professor. There is no textbook, but he publishes modules with websites to read and slides from class each week. Class consists of 2 exams worth 33.3% and one service learning project worth 33.4%. You don't have to show up to class, but he occasionally gives away free plants, so be sure to read your Canvas announcements.

Professor Hall was a very down-to-earth guy. His class was super manageable and didn't require much work. When he assigned assignments though they were weighted heavily. The assignments were fairly easy and the tests were online. This class was very engaging and was one of the best classes to get an A. I strongly recommend this class!

Dr. Halls socio horticulture class was my favorite class I have taken. It was a very easy class content wise and he gives a lot of opportunities for extra credit. It is a really good class to take for your social science class that will also be a huge GPA boost, I would highly recommend.

This is by far the best lecturer I have ever had. He made it worth getting up for the 8am class every time. The class has 4 grades plus 3 extra credit assignments, and is extremely easy. While attendance isn't mandatory it is always recommended to come since some final exam questions you could only answer if you attended.

Dr. Hall was so sweet and a great prof. Attendance was not required, but you definitely get brownie points for going as well as pivotal information that was on the final. He gives out high quality free plants which was so nice!! I loved this class and learned a lot.

Awesome professor with amazing and engaging lectures. Attendance is not mandatory, so most students do not show up, but show up once in a while to show some appreciation; he really is passionate. This semester was particularly bad on attendance so he put some questions on the final that only dedicated students would know, but he curved the final.

Prof Hall was great! Fast facts - there isn't a set attendance policy, he runs a flipped classroom teaching method, the two exams are online, and the class only meets once a week (for a tues/thurs schedule). The only thing you really have to worry about is the service learning projects

I loved this professor! He is so sweet and great to work with. His class is interesting and not hard at all. You have three extra credit assignments: one is to take a photo with a plant! You have two projects and a midterm and final. That's it! The midterm and final are open notes; you get three hours to take them!

Dr. Hall is one of the best professors I have ever had in my four years at this university. He is funny and makes sure you are interested in what he is saying. He makes 8 AM fun, and his jokes are hilarious. I highly recommend taking him if you want to learn but also have a good time. He knows what he is teaching, and enjoys it, and it's apparent.

I took him for 335 and 426. I did not show up to a single class in 335. Not one. Got a 99 in the class. I showed up to almost every class for 426 because attendance was worth a lot and I learned not one thing. It was so boring. Dr. Hall is the goat tho. Would take him a third time just to hear him mess up peoples names every single day. 10/10

Two papers that are due end of the semester. You don't have to show up to class. Exams are open note but are hard since you have to choose multiple answers for one question. He's very caring. The two assignments at the end are not hard just don't lie on learning project. Gives extra credit that are easy so do them!

To be honest, I took this class for the reason of learning because I was actually really interested in the material, which did not really work too well. I know a lot of people take this class mainly because it is easy, and if you want an easy class, go for this one, but if you are interested in learning this material, maybe try something else.

Exams are all online and were tougher than I expected - but I'm sure if I went to class more they wouldn't have been as difficult! There is a project where you have to volunteer and write a paper about it - however, I had a lot of fun doing it! Even though I got a B, an A is doable if you go to class. Prof is kind and gives out free plants!
