Dr. Harris is one awesome character that will enlighten you and make every class fun. Anyways, take good notes aka: copy everything from the slides. Also he gives a study guide that tells exactly what to study for the test. GREAT CLASS!!!

Now this guy is a good professor. Tried and true, he taught my dad when he went here in the eighties,he talked about the same things. Be prepared for him to dress all in black and talk about ballroom dancing, but it's a good informational class good prof.

Lecture is sooo boring and random, but the class is such an easy A. He gives you a study guide for every test that tells you exactly what to know and he gives everyone full credit for the group papers and the tests are half open book.

Dr. Harris is the nicest person I have ever met. He is very approachable and very helpful! The class is pretty easy. Write down everything he puts on the overheads. The tests come straight from the overhead notes. He really cares about his students and tries to make the lectures interesting. DEFINITELY TAKE THIS CLASS!

So some people say his lectures are boring, but if you listen, you will get a lot of good life advice and information. Besides that his energy and positivity will seep into your body. It's absolutly lovely.

His class is very easy, just write down the notes straight off the screens. He's very clear, tells you exactly what you need to study for the tests, and the portfolio entries are easy. He does go off on odd tangents every once in a while, but you don't really mind. Great Gen Ed to take.

Dr. Harris is a pretty easy tester. He gives a complete study guide for the test and if you know everything on it you will be fully prepared to get an A on the test. There is pretty much no outside work except a few journal entries, no outside reading is needed. Take this class if you can.

Dr. Harris is by far one of my favorite teachers of all time. He is a ladies man, and loves to talk about his wife and his ballroom dancing. He gives you Outlines of how many questions will be on the test and what section. Lectures can drag sometimes, but if you go with an open mind you will learn so much. Dr.Harris is a very good professor! He picks out the really interesting stuff to lecture about. Tests are for the most part based on lectures, so go to class and take detailed notes. Gives outlines of tests. Don't buy the $100 book, you won't even use it. Just copy the few pages you need from someone elses book. No final, just 4 tests. Easy A!

You will get as much out of this class as you are willing to put into it. The subject matter is all pretty easy and requires minimal studying, but Dr. Harris has a terrific outlook on life and is extremely intelligent. Go to his class and just listen to his lectures, he puts things in perspective. Don't be suprised if you end up dancing in class.

Most of the things being said are true. Very nice, fun class, work load is not bad at all. I have to dispute easiness though. Not an easy A by any means in my opinion, and I wouldn't consider the tests easy. Maybe he has changed the tests since the last posts. Still a great class. Take it.

Dr. Harris is a brilliant man, but his lectures might put you to sleep. Read the chapter before class, and you'll feel very on top of things! Not an easy A... but definetely an easy C for you slackers out there. Make sure you learn which famous dead white guy said what- names are stressed on his exams!

Professor Harris is the best teacher that i have had at jmu. He is very easy. All you have to do is go to class and copy notes off the screen. Test some strait from the study guides. No final! Makes class interesting. Cancels class a couple times a year.

The guy is hilarious, and definitely makes the class interesting. Depending on the subject, the lectures CAN be boring, but make sure to take good notes. The tests can be pretty challenging, even with the study guides he posts. The portfolios are extremely easy, but the tests are the main grades.

I liked this class at first but it got painfully boring towards the end of the semester, but the unfortunate attendance policy kept me coming to class. Gives you a study guide for every multiple choice test which makes them incredibly easy. He's a kind and caring teacher who means well.

haha a lot of dance classes...be prepared to talk about dancing everyday...he usually makes it fun though and asks for volunteers, its funny. the tests are exactly whats on the study guides. you need to come to class to get the lecture notes though. :)

He is a pretty funny guy. No homework. Posts study guides online (exactly what is on the test). You don't have to read the book all the test material is from class notes so attendance is important. Relates everything to dance which is funny. Really interested in what he teaches. 5 writing assignments but they are really easy. An easy B.

I really didnt like this class at first but by the end of the semester i really appreciated everything Harris taught. He tries to teach lessons that really apply to your life and begins the semester with learning about birth and ends it with death. By the end I felt he really got me to think deeper about things in my everyday life which is great

Not a huge psychology fan, but this class was fun...he's entertaining and teaches not just Psyc but a little bit of dance too. The tests could be hard, def. need to study. The last class was on death, bit depressing. Overall, decent class.

This class is astonishingly easy, but it is painfully boring. Harris is a really nice guy, but rambles on about personal vendettas for the majority of the class. For a class that is over an hour long, I find it interesting that I can watch one of his video lectures in 7 minutes and get all the same notes.

I loved Prof. Harris! He's very, very nice and pretty entertaining. He's very clear on his messages and teaches this class for life lessons, and not facts. He gives a study guide for the tests, but you should still give an extra effort for the test. Great professor...fun class.

I LOVED Professor Harris! He really related the subject matter to life so you walk away from the class learning something. 4 tests (1 is the final), 5 blackboard entrys. Professor Harris' tests are as easy as college level tests can get: Simple identifications/definitions and some comprehensive questions (match examples to definition). So I don't know why anyone can get below a B in this class, ever. Study guide is your best friend, only study topics prescribed on the guides, and you'll get an A with little effort

He is an adorable, bumbling man. Fairly dry personality, but he is clearly passionate about life and developmental psychology. Very easy tests, give you study guides with everything on it. Didn't read the book once. I took the hybrid. Make sure you keep up with online lectures and you'll do fine. TAKE HIM!

I had his class on Thursdays only, which meant that I had to listen to his boring online lectures. But it really isn't bad because he clearly loves to teach, and loves what he does. His tests are fairly easy if you follow the study guides (which are crystal clear) and spend a fair amount of time studying. Lectures are boring but it's a good class!

He is a huge bore in class and online lectures. If you get through the lectures its not too bad. He gives study guides for tests, there are three, and as long as you study those you should be fine.

Dr. Harris is a good professor. His lectures can be a bit boring because he goes pretty in depth and his voice is very low and soothing (makes you want to sleep). Barely used our textbook. Lots of online lectures, class grade is 3 tests and a pretty easy portfolio. Overall an enjoyable easy class, just study the study guides & you'll do well.

Harris is probably the smartest man I know. I leave every one of his classes feeling revived, more mature, and with more wisdom than I had coming in. He's an exceptional teacher and get's everyone to think. If you pay attention, watch the online lectures, and go over exactly what the study guide tells you to, you'll do well.

Professor Harris is such a sweet heart and he makes psychology super easy. I took his hybrid class and he posted online lectures and powerpoints. His study guide would tell you EXACTLY what to study. Ex: "study slides 9-12 on lecture #2". If you do the study guide and attend class, you'll get a good grade. Take him!

Emails study guides before every test and quiz, which makes for an easy A. He's incredibly friendly and loves talking about his personal life and using his students in examples. He can be very tricky in wording his questions and answers, so watch out. Other than that, I enjoyed the class!

What a boorish class. If attendance wasn't mandatory I promise no one would go. He gives extremely comprehensive study guides to all quizzes and tests. Quizzes are even open notes. If you want an easy A, take it. His "portfolio" is silly, it's codeword for hours of unnecessary busy work.

I would take him again, the amount of information needed to be learned compared to that required in other profs classes is minimal. The portfolio is a bit tedious but easy A. He gives study guides to cover the test and quizes, but just dont memorize it because the tests are somewhat conceptually based. Quizzes are open notes.

Honestly, awesome class. His in class lectures are more about life coaching than going over material. I actually felt like I gained something from this class, plus it's easy. Tells you EXACTLY what's on the tests, profolio's are easy, no cumulative final exam and plus it's a hybrid course, so class is once a week. Can't lose; take the class.

Good class. The tests are easy once you figure out the format cuz all of them are the same. He tells you exactly what is on the test including how many questions about each topic. Class is usually more life coaching than actually covering the material. Only like one or two classes per test discuss material. I'd suggest taking him. Plus its hybrid.

Charles Harris is probably one of my favorite teachers. His study guides make the tests and quizzes extremely easy as long as you prepare for them. He is extremely sweet & helpful as well. I would recommend this course for anybody looking for an easy A. Plus his class meets only once a week. Excellent choice.

TAKE THIS CLASS! It is so easy. He gives you everything you need to know for the test and quizzes. Attendance is mandatory and class is pointless to go to but just force yourself to go. You need to study for everything if you dont then you wont get good grades

His study guides are the key to getting an A on the tests and quizes. This was also a pretty interesting class and Harris has a pretty good sense of humor for a 70+ year old.

If you study, and basically memorize, exactly what is on the study guides you will do well on the tests. He believes in actually learning the material for your own knowledge and doesn't want to mess with your grade. Very sweet man. An easy A class.

I look this class online over the summer. It was seriously do easy but I learned a lot. His lectures and easy to navigate and the tests come directly from them and the book. If you do basic work you can get an A and still get a lot out of the class.

Having this class as a hybrid class was horrible. Although it is nice to only meet once a week, the online lectures are boring and hard to stay focused on. Super sweet guy and he cares about what he is teaching, but there will be little details in class that will be on the tests, so pay attention. Not too hard to get an A, but takes preparation

Took it as a hybrid course which means you have it once a week. You are supposed to view the online lectures but you can get away without it. His study guides are EXTREMELY helpful. Like mentioned, he does have some assignments that pop up out of nowhere. Easy class just pay attention and take good notes.

Mr. Harris gives great examples in class to understand material. He tells you exactly what you will be tested on, which really helps when studying, because you know you won't be wasting your time studying information you don't need to know for tests. It's easy to get an A or high B. He's funny and makes the class interesting & worth going to.

Lectures tend to become unorganized and off topic. In-class lectures seem like a waste at some times. Test material is directly off the reviews he provides. However, tests do include information that is not covered in class, such as religions. Two short papers are required as well as several short surveys. Class meets once a week.

This class is the easiest gen-ed. Half of it is "online" through web lectures and the other 1/2 is once a week in class. He tells you exactly what will be on the quizzes and tests and his 3 mini projects are easy way to gain points in the class. The online web lectures you do not even have to watch unless they are on the study guides. Take him!

Has to be the best class I have. Would take him again in a heartbeat!! He tells you exactly what will be on the tests and quizzes. Only meet once a week and the online stuff is not hard. Have to write a few papers which is not bad. Passed his class with flying colors. Would recommend him to anyone.

His lectures can be really boring, but since it's a hybrid class it's tolerable and you should still go. He gives you study guides for every quiz and test so it's easy to do well. There are 4 tests total including the final, if you show up and follow the study guides you can get an A.

Despite the off topic, terrible lectures, the in class portion of the hybrid course was tolerable with snapchat's help. The tests and quizzes are word for word from the study guide so learn that and you'll pass the class easy.

He is a nice guy who takes the time to really engage those who want to learn. He gives some great advice and really takes the time to make the material relateable to you. You would need to be one BAD student not to be able to get at least a C, and even so a C is flat out laziness. His tests can be hard but in no way impossible.

He tells you exactly what to do for every test, quiz, and project. Not a hard grader, but if you slack your grade will reflect it. Prepare for the assignments and tests and you'll do well. Very nice man, kind of acts like a preacher.

I had his class once a week and even some classes were canceled for some online assignment that's due. I never paid attention to his lectures but he seems like a really sweet old man. He tells you exactly what's going to be on quizzes and tests via Canvas so just study that and you'll get an A. Does take attendance for participation.

Harris is SO sweet. I took it as a hybrid class so I learned almost everything from the online lectures. His actual classroom lectures weren't really about the material, just him going off on certain "life" lessons but takes attendance for points. Really nice and understanding, easy A.

The hybrid GPSYCH 160 was an easy A. He gives study guides for each test and quiz outlining exactly what you need to know. I basically only showed up to class to take the quizzes and tests and got an A easily. Lots of extra credit opportunities.

This man give your study guides for every single quiz and test. I only had two classes the whole year that didn't have a quiz but when I tell you he gives you study guides, he literally tells you everything that will be on it. If you don't get an A then you didn't look at the study guides.

PSYC 160 with Harris is hybrid so we only met every Monday and most lectures were online. Usually had a 15 question quiz each class but he posts study guides that are pretty straight forward of what you need to know. Not really any homework besides watching the lectures and studying aside from a 4 page paper that was easy and worth minimal points.

Harris loves teaching this class, and it shows! He's a sweet old man who is mostly concerned with what you take away from his class (and ballroom dancing), not how much info you can regurgitate on an exam. He only tests on what he thinks is beneficial outside of the classroom and gives clear cut study guides and online lectures.

Very easy class. I was in the hybrid course so we only met once a week. There are quizzes just about every week so it's important to attend class but he posts EXACTLY what is going to be on each quiz. 5 quizzes, a midterm, a short paper, and a final are the only grades. Funny guy, great teacher. Took his hybrid class so only had one lecture a week in person. He took attendance maybe twice all semester, and lets you make up quizzes you missed. Charles Harris is darling. He is such a lovable man. Hybrid class and I loved it; only met once a week. Lectures didn't really match up with readings. His lectures were more inspirational/life talks. Study guides were pretty much verbatim to the quizzes and final. Very passable class.

Dr. Harris is a super sweet man! I was super worried about taking a hybrid class but it worked out really well! His lectures seem sort of tangential at first but at the end you realize that he's worked the material into a life lesson. He lays out all the assessments in great detail and gives good E.C. opportunities. Since class is only 1x/week, go!

Professor Harris is a really great guy! I took him for an online class and he communicates well with his students. His test are word for word from his test review, text book, and slide shows. As long as you take notes on the test review you should get an A on all of his test. He doesnt waste your time and make you do useless assignments.

Easiest class ever. Took the hybrid version and you read a few tables or pages in textbook and listen to his web lecture before class once a week and take a quiz or test. This class is easy in the sense that he gives study guides for quizzes and tests and gives extra credit, but his tests are HARD. This class is an easy A if you utilize the resources provided. For every quiz/test there is a study guide that tells you exactly what you need to know and where to find the information. Lectures are incredibly dry though, he's a soft speaker and often repeats what we already did online. I really struggled to pay attention! Still, would recommend.

Days with no test or quiz will sometimes involve extra credit. Also gives other extra credit options to make sure you perform well in the class.

I loved only having class once a week. He gives out so much easy extra credit so even if you do bad on tests, you can still end with a good grade. He also gives you the study guides which are almost the exact test questions. I wouldn't have wanted to take any other professor but him, so for real, TAKE HIM.

Definitely the easiest A I have gotten at JMU. You are graded on several quizzes and tests, but the study guides tell you exactly what page on the textbook will contain the questions and answers verbatim. There are lecture videos you can watch, or you just pause on the slides with relevant information and use that as a reference for the quizzes.

Great organized teacher, I took this class asynchronously and it was honestly so easy. Only 1 quiz a week and 1 test every 5ish weeks. If you read the textbook the quizzes and tests come straight from the book. I recommend this prof bc he's so reachable for help, and he is good at teaching.

Definitely take this class in the asynchronous format. Homework consisted of weekly textbook readings and video lectures. He provided a suggested schedule, but we were allowed to submit most assignments late by a certain date. He provides exam/quiz guides which tell you exactly what you need to know and where to find it for the assessments.

Professor Charles only teaches asynchronously, but the class isn't bad really. He gave several options to retake exams and quizzes for a better grade. Reading and videos are 100% necessary for quizzes and exams. If you need this as a Gen Ed please take it with him, but if you're a psych major do not take this course, you won't get what you need.

Dr. Harris could not have made this asynchronous course any easier! There is about an hour of reading and notes each week which is followed by a quiz. ALL information for tests and quizzes can be found in the textbook or online lectures. Dr. Harris provides a large amount of resources through Canvas, and even creates test/quiz prep guides!

Very interesting course I took as a gen-ed. Dr. Harris outlines everything you need on Canvas, including outlines for tests & quizzes. You're only graded on tests and quizzes, so studying and reviewing is important. I took AP Psych so this was a nice life-span psych review for me. Would not recommend for those who cannot self-pace themselves.

Overall a decent class; you can tell Prof. Harris wants students to do well. For a gen ed, the course load is kind of a lot. You also have to do a participant pool, or you will not earn 3 credits; it consists of either participating in an experiment or writing a 3-page essay. Overall good Prof and class but maybe not the best choice for a gen ed.

He is an awesome professor who is taking his online course. If you do your test prep, then you should be fine taking his test. It's an open-book test, but some questions are tricky. He will help you with extra credit on the evaluations, and his test is not browser-locked. I thought I would not like psychology, but his course kept my interest.

Professor Harris makes this online psych class a breeze. His detailed test/quiz preps, along with unstuckstudy ai for extra study help, ensure you'll do well if you stay on top of the weekly readings. An engaging course, even for those new to psychology.
