I Think this professor really cares about how well we do. He tries very hard to motivate us to learn, I plan to take him again in the spring

Professor Hicks is passionate about teaching. He makes learning fun, and that is hard to do for this subject. Besides all that he is "dead sexy".

He does a good job and goes above and beyond what is expected of him.

He seems to care whether we do well, and tries to keep the classes interesting. Seems like a nice guy

Tries to make you think, and look at things from different perspectives. Doesn't try to force his beliefs on anyone but always takes the opposite side of an issue to help us learn to develop opinions on facts not feelings. Some people are too immature to handle having thier ideas challenged

He gives lots of information, all of which you should know if you are going into a health care field. He tells you what the discussion questions will be, he has no attendance policy, and he gives bonus points for each test based on outside assignments. He gives you copies of his notes, if you fail, it is because you didn't study and put in the time

I took Kicks for A&P 2010. I am so lucky that I had him for both lecture and lab. That really helps. He is so interested in his students doing well. He makes sure that EVERYONE understands what he is talking about before he moves on. I liked the way he teaches so much that I have signed up for his A&P 2020 for a summer semester.

He gives you his powerpoint. Stars important info. Tells you discussion ahead of time. Fair to everyone. If you dont understand he will go over it until you do. Good person, always willing to help.

Chuck is a nice guy who really cares about his students. A&P is a hard class, and he is fair and doesn't make it harder than it has to be. To be honest, he's got a few really annoying students in his night class this semester, and he handles it with patience and humor. Study the handouts. He doesn't throw curve balls on his tests.

he is very smart and is really helpful. it is a hard class but if you take the time to learn the material you will do great. this course does take alot of you time. be ready to give your studying several hours a week if you want to do well in this class. hicks will help you if you need it and seek it out.

Mr. Hicks is a good teacher. He makes A&P 2010 interesting and likes to use good humor to make the class fun. You have to study, he's not easy but A&P isn't suppose to be easy. He is fair and gave some extra credit when I took the class. He will work with you if you ask. I would attend another class he teaches if I needed it.

GREAT TEACHER!!!!! I love him. He is very hard, but you learn alot. He is very helpful and makes sure you know the info before he moves on. He will answer your questions. He does give a quiz every week, and his test are hard. But he is a class act guy.

I had Professor Hicks for a&p 1 lecture and lab and he is great! He puts his powerpoints online and is very easy to follow in class. The material is really tough but he really breaks everything down so you understand! Definitely take him for lecture and lab!

Mr. Hicks isn't easy but he does let you know what he expects you to learn. He quizzes every week, and usually comes in on at least one Saturday to do reviews during an open lab - not too many professors are willing to do this. I would take him agian.

TRies really hard, and tries to keep your interest. Very patient and will explain something again if you ask. Says using a cell phone in class is rude, but we need our cell phones.

Don't get what the problem is. He is tough but fair, and yeah we do a lot of homework, that is called LEARNING. Its a tough class, but you are fairly compensated for the homework, the tests are tough, but they are fair and he not only told us what he expected, he also constantly reminded us of what we needed to do. He was also very flexible.

I thought he was really fair. He is hard , because there is a lot of material, but every question on test I had was in the notes. You will work hard, but if you have a modicum of intelligence, and come to class it is fairly easy to get a good grade. I had to miss a couple of tests and he let me make them up without any hassles. He was very up front

Fail to see what the problem is, you have to do a lot of homework, but you have to really screw up to fail the class. He is a nice guy, and will help if you ask.

Great prof, fair but the class isnt a easy. Really laid back, a really nice guy, I know some people don't like him, but I think it is because they are lazy and weren't willing to work. You get lots of chances to pass, and almost everyone did as far as I know. Don't listen to the haters! He is a great guy.

It was a difficult class, but it is a freakin college course, so you do have to work pretty hard. But you get points for homework, papera, quizzes and if you do all the work you get to drop a test grade. No mandatory attendance, he is laid back, and pretty funny, I liked him

Mr hicks is a fantastic teacher, one of the best I have known! He is genuine, very approachable and helpful. He loves what He teaches and it shows. I learned a great deal from him.

Took this guy back in 08' but thought he was a great instructor. Helps out a lot and doesn't grade harsh like other professors I've had. Take him if you get the chance cause he's a cool guy too, laid back.

Hicks is excellent and would recommend his class to anyone. He will take extra time to explain content. Test are hard and require studying on daily basis. Start homework immediately to drop lowest test grade. He doesn't take role, but it is easier to understand if you are there taking notes. If you apply yourself you will do good.

I liked him, and he seemed alright to me, I dont particularly like science but and I am not very good at it, but he helped me a lot, at least enough to pass.

Had him this summer , I liked him,you had to do homework but not very much, there were quizzes, too many for the summer, but he eliminated some of them, tests weren't that hard, and he graded real fair

I had him this summer.Awesome guy!He was super helpful.We had some homework and quite a few quizzes, but if you finished the homework early you could drop and test and the quizzes were group.Easy class if you keep up with the notes.Reading the book helps confirm what he teaches in class.If you do well enough you can finish a week early.I did!!

Mr.Hick's is a great teacher and person, he makes sure you understand things and will do anything to help you. He also tells students you can do it, I believe in you! He is awesome working with you and laid back if he knows you try.I wish I could take him again!

A man among men. I took his night course, and I have to say that he was one of the most influential profs i've ever had. Not only did he teach the material. He challenged your views regardless of what they were, just to get you to think. He is what you would call a true blue professor.

He is a great professor. He has taken the time to create his own youtube channel to better explain things. He will answer any question and does everything to try and help you out. I had him for lab and would do it all over.

This Prof is really fair, there are xtra points on every test, has lots of grades,like quizzes, homework and tests, he even admits when he doesn't know something.I took him for lecture and lab, it is hands on, and everything you need to know is provided with pictures and videos that he makes. A very friendly professor

He is by far one of my favorite teachers. He does everything in his power to help and make sure that everyone knows what's going on. DO NOT TEXT IN HIS CLASS. If you pay attention, watch the YouTube videos, and study you will for sure do fine in the class

A&P I Lab: Lets you do your own thing and is there to answer questions. Has exercises you should print. Has a YouTube channel with lots of videos to help. A soldier. Answers Qs & is personable. Openly jokes about & shares his "geekiness". STUDY the printouts for his tests! Has 1 makeup day for quizzes for the semester. No makeup for practical exams

If you dont take Hicks you will regret it. He is by far the best teacher I have ever had. His style of teaching is perfect because he gives you powerpoints, goes over them in class, writes on the board as well, and answers any questions needed before test. Sometimes he gives a study guide sometimes he doesnt. He also provides Extra Credit points.

old guy,He is hilarious. I loved him! But I think it helped that I talk a lot and he seemed to like me from the beginning, I noticed other people get annoyed with him in my class that don't do the work, it isn't hard the test are dumb.

I really like Hicks. He's a funny, laid-back guy that wants you to do well in his class. He gives you many opportunities for easy 100's, and you would have to try really hard to fail. The tests are difficult and you won't do well if you don't read from the book on a daily basis. I like his class, and I don't even like science. Labs are easy too.

I took this class to get my science credit out of the way, along with the lab that went with it. These were the most difficult classes I've ever taken. It's not that he is a bad teacher, but if you aren't a genius in science then you won't do very well. GPA KILLER.

You can get through the class without looking at the textbook IF you are gifted at biology. His 1010 and 1020 classes are the hardest classes I have ever had, but I took him twice because he is very helpful and he will work with you. A very smart and interesting man. He is big on no-texting though. Tests are very difficult. Study the powerpoints!!!

I suggest taking Hicks if you have to take anything science related. He is more than willing to share his time with you so that you pass. He is right to the point and his teaching style is easy to follow.

He is a great teacher. He is funny and explains everything until you understand. All of his PowerPoint's are on your elearn, those are your notes. No book really required. As long as you know what the PowerPoint's say and know the vocabulary you will understand the tests!

I took him for 1010 & 1020. If science doesn't come easy to you, I would not recommend this instructor. His lectures do not really have (necessary) information since he usually goes off topic. He reads directly from the slides. In order to pass, study and learn the material on your own. You usually know what to expect going in each day, though.

The class is well organized, and everything you need to do to pass is clearly spelled out. Vocabulary quizzes weekly,Five tests ,Attendance not required but his powerpoints don't have everything on them, he adds material to the topics. I had to study a lot, but he helped me learn to study which no other professor never did.

Nice, guy some people don't like him because he teaches a lot of evolution, but I think we need to know that stuff. If you take the time to talk to him and get to know him you will find he is really helpful. A lot more patient with some of the students than I could be. He said something I really liked, that a good attitude effects your learning.

Had the privilege of taking him for Biology 1010. He is one of the funniest people I have ever met and makes class worth going to. Highly recommend!

I had Prof. Hicks for Biology 1010 and Biology 1020. It is a hard class and you have to work for your grade but he is passionate about what he teaches. If you make an effort to pass the class he will give you every tool that he can to help you pass.

Hicks is hands down my favorite professor. He is so amazing I made sure to schedule next semester the second it opened so I could guarantee a spot in 1020. His tests consist of "critical thinking" but he is determined to help you just as long as you ask.

Professor Hicks is a great teacher. He can be funny and makes biology interesting. The tests and quizzes are not super hard. The test and quizzes are all multiple choice. I would highly recommend taking Professor Hicks!

Great Professor, enjoyed him a lot, was really fair. Some teachers don't admit they write bad questions, but if you can show a question is confusing he will give credit for it. Got a mid term grade, everything you need is online, all his notes, examples and stuff , even has a youtube page with extra stuff.

Great Professor. Was fair , and honest. Constantly telling us what our grades were. He is strict about the rules, but lets you know what they are the first day, and there aren't that many of them. Hard to get to know, but if you take the time to talk to him, you see he does care about you doing well.

He's a great bioprofessor and is easy to understand. After every chapter you have a vocab quiz which you can take with peers. The only thing I don't like: He brings up political topics and if the students disagree then he tells them "why" they are wrong. I feel like professors shouldn't sway student's opinions. It is not their job.

Professor Hicks is not a bad person. He is is blunt and opinionated, but he does care about you passing. I do not like how the quizzes and test r the only grades you get. I like Professor Hicks, tells you everything you need to know. Patient, he don't get mad when people are rude and mean to him. Told me attitude is everything and if you think something is useless you won't learn it. Really fair, but expects us to pay attention.

I took Professor Hicks for Bio 1010 and 1020. You do have to work for your grade but it is worth it. I learned a lot from his class. He enjoys biology and makes it interesting to the students. You do have quizzes every week in lab, but as long as you study the online slides you should do just fine! Also he curves the tests which helped out a lot!

Hicks is a great teacher! There are quizzes every week for lab. (Not as bad as you think) He taught me information in a way that I would remember for the quizzes. I did extremely well in his lab compared to my other teacher in Biology Lecture. I highly recommend!

He uses power points for his lectures that he puts online for you to have. If you come to class take notes and study then the class is an easy A. Your only grades are the handful of exams and the final. He does not give homework. Attendance is optional but I suggest going because it will help your grade. Great teacher!

I thght he was great, since it is onlne he answrs email fast. He will listen to you, and if you ask for help he will give you good suggestions on how to do better. The questns on the lab, lecture tsts come right from the notes he sgives you. Relly organzed, fair and I found him fun. He ties the lessons to our real life topics.I learned a lot.

I took Professor Hicks for two biology classes. I was intimidated because I'm in my 30s and haven't taken a science class since 2000. He's a tad socially awkward but super knowledgeable. He doesn't have sympathy for people who don't try to learn the material. Science has never been my thing but I passed. He's not unfair or mean. I really liked him.

The work is all online, he includes online powerpoint notes, and his tests are all open note. All of the work is due at the end of the semester, so the only way to fail the class is if you do not try to turn your work in. He is very honest, knowledgeable, respectful, and open to discussions about anything. Take what he says with a grain of salt!

wonderful teacher. he finished class almost an hour early every time. do not miss lab, thats where most of the lecture happens, but everything is posted so you won't miss much if you don't go. no tests. no quizzes. no final exams. an absolute dream class.

Easiest class ever. Literally all of your Lab tests and Lecture Tests are done online. This means you can literally use the powerpoints to get the answers to do well on all of the tests. There is no reason you should not get an A in this Biology class!
