teaches really well. if u need help, make sure u ask.
couldn't understand him
really knows his stuff. willing to help if asked.
He knows his stuff. Stick with him and he will help. Buy the solution book.
An example of what an excellent professor should be like. He does gives a lot of homework and they are hard, but if you ask him for help, he will help you. You will learn a lot in his class. His lectures are better than the book, so take good notes.
Very nice, adorable teacher! Calculus is NOT easy so you'll have to do hw and study, but he's a good teacher and he teaches at a good pace. Really friendly and approachable! Extra credits are given. Take him!
I hate math but he made it very easy to learn. There is a lot of homework but it does help. Plus they are worth alot. Gives you extra credit points for attendance and for doing exam review problems.
This is a hard class but he explains well. He is a good calculus teacher to have. Need to do all homework, cause it counts and help out your grade. He gives extra credit to help grades too.
Good teacher. Really helped students with their difficulties.
Prof. Lee wasn't helpful when it came to hw questions in class. His tests were difficult, and he assigns way TOO MUCH hw. He does review before the test. Do all the review problems because test problems are somewhat similar.
This teacher is really bad. Taking summer school he had grad students teach class due to a trip. There were no practice test to review from. Assigned way to much homework and doesn't go over it. Expects to put one semester in six weeks. Not realistic
WORST TEACHER EVER. DON'T TAKE HIM. DOESN'T GO OVER ANYTHING. EXPECTS YOU TO KNOW EVERYTHING BASED OFF IS HIS LECTURE WHICH ISN'T THAT GOOD. YOU WILL LEARN MORE READING THE TEXT BOOK THAN HIS LECTURE. HE WASN'T THERE FOR HIS OFFICE HOURS.
Good professor, but hard subject. He is helpful during his office hours and if you are unclear, he will try to give you more examples. Lots of extra credit. Lots of homework, and you need to keep up because all the points count!
Extremely difficult. Gives too much homework and will not go over what's on the exams or homework. However, he is very knowledgeable about everything and expects his students to know everything as well.
An ok lecturer, but ask he about doing research. He can help any student get published - A HUGE plus for Grad school. Take advantage and do the work.
Prof. Lee is a very good teacher. All his lectures are very easy to understand. He gives a lot of homework, but what math teacher doesn't? His test are a little hard, but on all his test he gives 10 extra credit points.
AMAZING TEACHER!!! makes math easy!!! would reccomend him to anybody!! offers extra credit..wil put u on the spot if you are late. he is always at office hours and is very helpful when you go to him. he will help you as much as he can if you go to him.
He is so a great teacher! take him, he explains everything clearly.
Great teacher. Highly recommend. Explains the material well and makes it very easy to understand. Slight accent, but a top notch professor. Although calculus is difficult I don't think he could make it any easier than he does. I studied 8 hours a week and got an A.
pretty chill class. just make sure you do all the homework because it is worth A LOT
He SHOULD NOT be rated this high. Syllabus says 10 hours worth of homework a week, and he's not kidding. He doesn't like to answer questions and expects you to know everything he knows right away. has back to class all period. does not answer hw questions. SIT UP FRONT he writes very small. not good
This is the best Bus. Calculus teacher you will find. He's as good as it gets. Attendance and extra credit helps you out and despite all the HW he assigns he takes a lot of stress from the tests and final.
Very hard subject. Excellent prof. who cares about his students. Turn in all hw b/c it helps your grade. Exams are very difficult. YOU HAVE TO STUDY A LOT (10 Hrs/Wk). It is a time consuming class. I do not recommend it for the faint hearted. I am a freshman and I wish I hadn't taken this class so early in college. Good luck and try hard.
if u really have no clue what so ever about calculas... take this teacher! he explains really well and u will so get it!!!! do the study cuz itz close to the tests... but u have to do the hw cuz it counts lot!!!
TAKE THIS TEACHER FOR THIS SUBJECT. HE IS A VERY GOOD TEACHER AND DOES NOT EXPECT YOU TO MASTER THE COURSE MATERIAL FOR THE TESTS. JUST KNOW ENOUGH AND YOU WILL DO FINE.
he is good but his exams are very hard. he will try to pass you if you show that you were working hard.. at least you get C in this class. just those who don't come to class get F...just do the sample exam at home and come to class. he will go over it. i rate him 8 of 10 because of the hard exams..
The guy was OK up until the final. He refused to review homework questions during class. The Final Exam was extremely hard. The class average was a 60%. Took him too long post the final grades. Much of his writing on the board was unclear. During the first week on class we had a sub who was clueless and kept giving us a bunch of "weird examples."
Exams were easy but the final was very very hard. Had an 86% going into the final but scored a 50% and received a 75% in the class.
Did not show up for class the 1st week of 5 week course. Final Exam was not related to material taught throughout course. Appears to be good instructor, but really dropped the ball during Sumemr Course

I had him his first semester teaching Math 150A (Fall 05). Homework wasn't graded, but his weekly quizzes, which accounted for 20% of the class grade, were a carbon copy of the homework. He also gave two MULTIPLE CHOICE TESTS and a MULTIPLE CHOICE final. Then, he curved the second test. There was also a 5% project (easy). Take him.
I took this course during summer. His lectures are very well presented, but I suggest you do the problems during class. He teaches you some short cuts on how to solve some problems. You are better off studying off the book, and then asking for help. He's a pretty cool professor, looks mean at first. Hard grader. Make sure you know derivatives.
Took him in the summer. Pretty good prof, lectures are clear & helpful-i didn't even need to buy the book. Gave 3 exams, a comprehensive final, & some quizzes. exams are challenging, but the quizzes are easy. doesn't give homework, but quizzes are based on them. curves the exams if the class average is less than 75%. make sure you do the reviews!
He lectures very well and chooses the most important topics in the book. His tests and quizzes come straight from the lecture, so there aren't any surprises. There is one 20-minute group project at the end, but he gives a lot of time to work on it and get it done.
BY FAR the best math professor on campus. GREAT LECTURES ! thanks to his patience and knowledge on the subject i passed a class that otherwise i would have surely failed.
he's great! all you really have to do is try and he'll guide you. he does great examples that parallels 99% of the hw, the notes are very clear, he gives reviews before a test and a cumulative review for the final, and he grades fairly. show up to class and on time, it counts. the tests are usually about 15 mc questions, i highly recommend him.
Lecture notes are excellent - organized, clear, and helpful.
Very intelligent about Calculus, but pretty difficult. However, if you want to learn calculus and be challenged, I highly recommend him.
His class is pretty challenging. Make sure you do all of the hw. Be sure to also show up to class everyday because he gives extra credit. Tests are mult choice.
Professor Lee was a great teacher. He made material that i did not understand into something very easy. I thought calculus was pretty easy after i took his class. His lectures are really straightforward and his teaching style is pretty neat.He does give a lot of homework and does have an attendance policy, but he does give extra credit for attendin
knows his material & very organized.writes neatly on the board.EXTREMELY BORING!hard to understand bec of accent.doesnt make eye contacts during lecture, stares at the wall or ceiling when talking.not helpful.doesnt go over the hwk.tests are hard.if ur gonna take him, make sure u buy the book, ull learn more from the book.if not take GHAMSARY instead!
Speaks like a text book. tries to clarify theories and problems to the best of his abilities but he can not. because of his poor teaching skills this will be the first class i have ever had to take over again.
he is not passionate enough about the subject and often loses the attention of his students. he gives an honest effort but failed to go above and beyond as a professor. also, teaching does not seem to be his calling. he told our class that he works as an aeronautical engineer on his days off.
Smart and knows his math. Very introverted and lacks humanistic understanding. Very methodical, step-by-step lectures. Too worried about getting through lectures than ensuring students understand concept. Tests are multiple choice. Gives no partial credit, and puts more weight on accuracy than approach. i.e. arithmetic mistakes are unacceptable!
This teacher teaches like he was talking to "math majors". If you are taking this class because you have to, I would choose a different teacher. Very monotone, 4 tests (all multiple choice), a lot of notes. One paper...yea a paper lol. Does curve tests though, unless you have smart people in your class...good luck.

And, homework..well its online.
I loved this class. Math is hard but Dr. Lee conveyed his ideas clearly and methodically. It was very exciting to understand what a math teacher was talking about. He was also very generous with his time and helped me with specific problems I had during office hours.
Really laid back and overall pretty awesome professor. 1 midterm 1 final. Homework due each week. Homework actually takes much longer than you'd think in most instances. Really knows his way around the Matlab software. Would recommend taking this professor to friends.
Not much to say about him. He got to class on time and taught on the board monotone voiced. He had good examples and taught well.HW is online and there are 3 exams and a final and ppt pres. Exams arent too diff.and he curves very generously. Final is a killer though. Attendance is extra credit. Nice guy didnt get mad at me for sleeping every class
Overall easy class. You don't need the book, AT ALL. All the homework is online, gives you multiple chances to get the right answer. Online hw links up with the book & specific pages, he has class notes in a spiral binder, attendance is mandatory takes roll every class, 1 weekly quiz, Curves the test. Show up and you should be golden!
He is so helpful considering I suck at math royally. Go to class and take tons of notes. Use the textbook to help you with hw. Whine about Maple TA the hw program because it's absolutely terrible. Weekly quizzes or papers, a couple hw assignments a week, 3 exams. He's strict but he's very helpful. Go to office hours if you need it.
Dr. Lee is really smart and knows math really well but has no ability to transfer that knowledge in a classroom setting. Definitely more concerned with getting through material than anybody understanding it, so if you can teach yourself Calculus then take him. All brain, no personality or teaching ability.
I took this class with a different professor the prior semester and failed it. Dr. Lee was patient, organized, methodical, and as clear as an instructor can possibly be with such a difficult subject as Calculus. With that said, I still had to use tutors and workshops to get my B. Some of us just have to work harder! I'd definitely take him again.
Good prof. Conservative, but he tries to loosen up. PowerPoint lectures, print out before and used for notes. Used ULC & workshops for hw help and exam review, also had study groups with classmates, HW is online--system is not user-friend. He drops 2 quizzes & 2 hw,grades fairly. Will curve on exam if needed. Hard working class but good experience.
Very clear with topics and straight to the point when teaching. Exams can be difficult but he gives a good study guide. Do your homework and show up at all the classes. Sometimes gives pop quizzes and take home quizzes but they're not bad at all. Got B's on all three exams, showed up to all classes and did homework and received an A.
Overall very good teacher. At the beginning of the semester he was very bland, but lightened up a lot later on. Has take home quizzes which are easy points for grade. And on the 3rd exam and final you get a cheat sheet. I would take his class again.
Dr. lee is an amazing professor. He is very nice toward the end. He loosen up at the every end and you can sometimes crack a few jokes with him here and there. In the beginning he seems strict. He also uses up all his time. SO DON'T EXPECT TO LEAVE EARLY!! show up to all the classes because he gives out a 3% increase on your total grade. IT HELPS!!
His lectures are in PP form so you can just print it out and follow along. He knows what he's talking about and tries to make it easy for you. Textbook is optional to buy and homework is all online (mymathlab). Tests might be confusing if you don't fully know your stuff. Final really kills you so do well! (especially for borderline grades)
There is a pop quizzes, midterms and a final. HW is online and a few writing assignments. He takes his time teaching you the material. Go to class, you will learn the material better.
He teaches material well, although hard to understand at times... but very nice prof. 10 pop quizzes so show up to class. 3% extra credit added to your grade for perfect attendance so it is worth it. Do all homework. It helps overall grade a lot. 4 tests.. all difficult so study and pay attention. Overall good professor. Would recommend him to take
He is a very good teacher and teaches Sec. 135 very well. Attendance is not mandatory but if you show up to class a lot you can get 3% extra credit to your final grade and there will also be pop quizzes almost everyday. Do the homework its not hard to get 100% on it and it helps your grade. The tests are a little difficult. You don't need the book.
Dr. Lee is incredibly smart but not approachable. Honestly, I wouldn't take him again. The exams are 45% of your grade and the final is worth 30% of your grade. MyMathLab is your bible, you learn/practice everything there. Don't take his class if your schedule is packed, especially if math is not your forte.
Professor Lee is really nice and cares about his class. Although, I do have to say that most of the students in our class are failing and their seeing tutors! Despite to reading all these comments about him, I thought I would do well his class due to his reviews. Now, I have to sign up for a summer school class just in case I do not pass.
He is a great teacher but grades tests and quizzes hard. Gives a ton of pop quizzes that screw up your grade and gives you multiple choice tests but grades the work. Good teacher and nice guy but just a hard subject
It's obvious from the beginning that Dr. Lee knows his stuff. He's actually a very nice guy and wants you to pass the class. 2 midterms 1 final, he replaced lower midterm with final score if higher. Attendance gets you 3% extra credit. Lots of pop quizzes so be prepared because it can hurt you in the end. Do the homework, easy points.
First of all this is a hard subject period. I was a terrible math student and managed to get a B+. He is helpful if you ask, attend class "gives extra credit" and he does want you to pass. If you put in effort, "I got a tutor and practiced" you will pass it and learn a lot for other classes in the future!
Took this course during sumer, so it was an entire semester condensed into 5 days a week for 5 weeks. The course itself is hard, but Dr. Lee was very helpful and his goal is to help his students pass. You have to commit to handwork or else you're going nowhere in this class. Quizzes, tests and homework are graded on accuracy. Good luck!
It's a flipped class so you learn everything at home and go thru the homework in class. It's a lot of work but it's necessary because the material is hard. If you're going to study and put effort, by all means choose Professor Lee. He's nice and willing to help. homework & online work, 3 tests & a hard, cumulative final
Tough grader. His exams are not very fair. He rushes through lecture and doesn't really explain the hard concepts clearly. It seems like he expects you to already know how to do everything he's teaching. He takes off points for every little thing. His final for this class was also very unfair. Definitely not an easy class to take with him.
His level is Nasa's level so be ready for his exam and take home exam because you will be challenged on Nasa's level. Practicing homework problem will not help at all
He is very lenient when it came to tests, at least for one. One of our exams, the class average was super low but he was able to let us retake another, and if one test was better than the other, he'd take the highest score. He also pays attention to the pace of the class and pushes homework, exams, quizes back if he knows that the class isnt ready
Three exams, weekly homework, and weekly in-class assignments. The class isn't easy and even more so, if you have no or only little experience using MATLAB. The Professor is competent and considerate of the students but (imho) not the best lecturer.
Straight forward professor. Definitely not the best calc professor out there but if you pay attention in class and take notes you'll be good. Pretty lenient on exams since he tries to give you the max points possible if you show the work. HW done on Webassign. One or two due each week.
Extremely hard class, I had a lot of trouble keeping up because he moves at a fast pace. He will also randomly call on students to make sure theyre paying attention. If you say I dont know he will think you arent paying attention even if you were. However he was every polite when I told him I was dropping the class and offered help
Lectures are rushed through and very material dense. Slides can be confusing as he fits all the work into one slide. If you miss class you will get lost. Textbook is required to gain access to online homework.
If you miss class, you will be lost. He goes at a fast pace and randomly calls on students to make sure they are paying attention. Exams were tough and the final was tougher. Stay vigilant for pop quizzes. There's two writing assignments. However, he was willing to help students if they were lost. It is a hard class if you do not keep up.
I took this course in the summer, so my experience may differ. The professor did a decent job in terms of lecture. He did a lot of examples which helped, especially for homework and exams. Expect to be turning in daily hw assignments with lots of problems. The hw & quizzes help prepare you for the exams. He does curve the exams depending on the avg
Dr. Lee teaches pretty slowly so you'll most likely be behind other classes. His quizzes are online and taken home. The exams are the majority of your grade but if you study the content and make sure to show all your work for partial credit you should be fine. A few writing assignments, but not too hard. He drops the lowest exam score.
The professor is slow at teaching, but it's beneficial if you're a slow learner. He kinda picked up the pace at the end as we were behind schedule, which kinda slowed my understanding of some concepts though. However, he's generous in grading quizzes and exams. Overall, great professor.
He's a good professor, his accent is barely noticeable and so its easy to understand what he says. The class is lecture heavy so you must attend every day or else you'll be lost. pretty lenient, one time whole class failed a quiz and reassigned it online. Exams are pretty tough but as long as u do hw, pay attention and ask questions you'll be fine.
Pretty good professor, I am terrible at math but he helped me understand it. Calls on people but are patient and helps them along the problem. He can be very understanding at times, I think I would be failing Calculus if I had a different professor. If you do miss a day, you will be very behind, and it can be quite hard to catch up.
i had him for 130 calc isnt super easy to begin with but he goes at a slower pace which makes it easy to understand, although attendance isnt super mandatory, miss a class and it is a bit harder to keep up and sometimes has in class assignments that are for credit. explains well when you ask a question and overall just a nice guy
overall great, patient, caring, & considerate
Professor Lee was a great teacher. However, as reviews before have said, he is behind schedule, which can be bad if he happens to cover a chapter detrimental to a midterm happening next week. One warning: Exams and material learned in lectures can be very different because of the department, and it's the reason I got this grade.
you're better off with a different prof. His availability is not the best outside of class. he nitpicks at small things on quizzes/tests. He does not properly explain new topics and leaves it up to you to teach yourself outside of class. I was never the worst at math and would enjoy it, but that was never the case with this course. Save yourself
