Korn is a good guy, dont skip his classes too often or you really will get a bad grade. I talked with him a couple of times after class, and he is more than willing to discuss any issues a student can have. very nice and polite, does not intimidate socially awkward speakers

Kind of a strange guy, and often repetitive, but very polite, respectful, and fun. Easy grader, but didn't learn much.

I wont speak badly about charles Korn in my life. I was intimidated about taking his class beforehand (im not a great speaker) but i managed an A because i actually tried. People expect an easy A because its a communications course, but some work is required, especially on the group work. good class, just be serious about it.

Took Intercultural Comm with him. Goes off on tangents sometimes, but makes class interesting. Don't take him if you're not into the subject, as this isn't an "easy A". Take him if you want to have a learning experience, not some mindless lect

Prof. Korn does go off on a lot of tangents but the class is not boring. Very easy. Only 4 speeches and a midterm. No homework. Does not grade hard. You dont have to be the best speaker to get an A you just have to try do the best you can. If you make an effort you will pass the class.

don't expect an A if you don't put effort into your speeches. korn is fair in grading and even does some peer evaluating. he is random, but that's what made the class more fun. we would get off topic, but we still learned what we needed for the midterm. great class, great professor.

I am so glad that I had Dr. Korn for this class. I find the subject painfully boring but with Dr. Korn's brillant sense of humor it was quite fun. He also has the ability to put you at ease...especially if you are afraid of public speaking. You definately work in this class, but it's worth it. They broke the mold when they made him!!

I'm so happy I took this class with Dr. Korn. He is just superior to any other teacher I have had. Takes a boring subject and makes it fun. I don't know what else to say. Probably the most likeable teacher on campus. He does go off on tangents, but he's also very good at presenting the material. He's *interesting* which makes the class interesting. I feel that an instructor who spends the entire class focusing solely on the subject/text really fails to make his subject interesting. Students have short attn. spans!:)

One of the best professors at NOVA. He is passionate about his work and it shows. I was somewhat shy but had no problems with the class. If you need to take speech & int relationships, take Korn!!

Out of all my 2 years of going to NOVA, I never liked a single professor until I took this guy. I had him my last semester before graduating. Very smart guy and knows his stuff. He also makes the class real comfortable so talking in front of everyone was a breeze! I respect him. Dr. korn, if you are reading this, YOU ARE THE BEST, & KEEP IT UP!

Dr. Korn is extremely engaging. He loves to discuss things with his students. He's also encouraging to wallflowers. All in all, I really enjoyed his class. Also, be sure to keep up with American Idol!

What a fun guy! I think he's pretty hilarious, he has a great sense of humor and is makes the class fun. Public speaking terrifies me, but he makes it a lot easier. He also kinda looks like Dr.House, maybe even cuter?

Dr. Korn is fun, ...gay, but funny. Haha! Don't think that this class is boring. If you're afraid of public speaking, by the end of the class, you'll be more comfortable with it, because Dr. Korn tries to relate to each of his students. Do the work and show progression your speeches and you'll get an A.

It's an easy pass. There's only one exam and 2 speeches and one group speech. He makes you feel comfortable in the class. Has a quirky sense of humor, take him. You won't be sorry =]

Korn is wonderful! He is all over the place and disorganized at time but his classes are great. Don't be afraid to speak out loud, he loves class conversations. Even the one day a week class is fun! I highly reccomend Korn to anyone needing to take a communication class. You have fun and learn something.

Dr. Korn is a genuinely nice person and deeply cares about his work and students. He keeps the class interesting by talking about current events and (sometimes) how they relate to communication. I feel that I really learned a lot in his class and I would definately take him again. And yes, he does look like House. ;)

Dr. Korn is an amazing professor. He is very energetic and passionate about communication and its study. If I had to take another communications class I would not give it a second thought and would immediately sign up for Professor Korn. He is a great teacher and a great person at that.

He was one of the funnest teachers I have had. He keeps classes fun with his jokes and conversations. He's very easy-going and makes public speaking seem like a breeze. I would definitely reccomend him to anyone (especially those terrified of pulic speaking, like I was).

I loved him, and always looked forward to going to his class. He makes really funny but innapropriate comments so some people may get uncomfortable. He talked about the funniest things and made everything interesting. I highly reccommend him!! And i dont suggest buying the text book. I never read a page and easily got a B.

What an amazing professor!! Made class very enjoyable with a friendly environment. He is very knowledgeable on communication. Also, he responds to questions and graded work very quickly with helpful comments. If you need to take a speech class or just for fun, Dr. Korn is the one to take.

Korn is hilarious! I loved him for communications 110. He keeps the class interested and his powerpoints are clear and they transfer straight to the midterm. He grades fair and is a great listener. I really recommend him!

Dr. Korn is such an great professor. He really knows his stuff when it comes to communication. I really enjoyed going to his class; there was never a dull moment. There are not that many professors at NOVA that really care and engage their students; however, Dr. Korn does care about his students and wants them to gain knowledge about communication!

I looked at this site before I took Dr. Korn's class. He is very interesting, funny and a very good teacher. He always ask, "Did you get that" and he means it. Very refreshing. I would take another class from him.

Korn is an outstanding teacher. He makes class very interesting and fun (i love his tangents). I took his 9 am summer class and i never dreaded coming to class ever, i actually looked forward to it. The class is really easy as long as you do the work and pay attention. I would take one of his classes again in a heartbeat.

Doctor Korn is a great teacher. He creates an environment where everyone is viewed equally... no favorites. His clarity and reasoning are very useful for the course. Take his class, you wont fear public speaking ever again.

Yeah, I took Korn this summer and he reminds me of Dr. House when not shaved. And he does have dry humor too.

Best Professor at NOVA!!

i took 2 of his classes. hes a fun teacher to have. very helful, and understanding if a situation occurs. offers extra credit if you need it. maybe 1 exam a semester and if u stay after class he helps you out. if u fail his class then you should not be in college. if you just show up you should pass.

Dr. Korn is one of my favorite professors! His class is pretty easy and straightforward. He helps you and answers your questions after class. Only 1 test(he'll review you with ?'s from test), never a final or homework, and he is pretty lenient on grading unless you seriously piss him off :P. 4 speeches...EASY! Def. take him for any speech class :)

Dr Korn is easy and nice. BUT I do have a bone to pick- if you raise your hand, it will take him 15 minutes to call on you.. by then the question is irrelevant. If you call out and say "Dr. Korn.... " He ignores you and keeps talking over you. Any comment made is talked over. I found this very rude & frustrating. Otherwise hes great!

Great Professor and funny. Yea there are very little times where lectures were a bit dry, but Dr. Korn knows how to lighten things and keep your attention with his knowledge and humor. His class was my most interesting class. Thanks Dr. Korn!!!

He is a great professor, and makes an effort to know the class. When classmates are missing, he gets concerned about their absence. He can be scatterbrained, but he uses this as a learning tool as well. Very helpful and a fun class, he remembers his students as well :)

Dr. Korn is an easy and chill professor. Very understanding when students have to miss class and will work with you with missing assignments. He made coming to class so much fun :)

I loved this professor he was very interesting and different. He is kind of scatter brained but it makes it interesting. For someone who likes a typical lecture you would probably be frustrated by his style. For someone who likes lectures to be more like discussions you'll love him. He doesn't give too much homework either.

Prof. Korn truly cares about his students and is willing to take time outside of class to ensure your success. I would highly recommend him for anyone who wants to learn a great deal about communications and have fun at the same time. He was always able to keep the topic interesting and relevant. Dr.Korn is very nice.I enjoyed his class and it was a great one to take over the summer.I found his lectures interesting and helpful towards communication skills. Yes he likes to talk about massage therapy because he is a massage therapist as well, but his main focus is on communication.2 speechs,one group speech and a final.I would recommend him

He is awesome. Still in the middle of the semester, but the class is fun & not that hard. Gives you what is necessary for your speech & expects the outlines and evaluation the day the speech starts. Only talked about massage therapy on first day of school. He is funny & is always funny for the lecture part of class. have to work hard to fail.

He is very good at teaching and very wise. He will help you with anything that has to deal with the class. He loves coffee and candy corn :) and he's very funny and had alot of fun in his class. But you have to show up in order to pass its a requirement :)

Very good teacher. Enjoys teaching, and is easy to aproach and talk to. Class was easy, there was no final exam, and just a few online asignments, an oral, group project, and 1 easy paper, and you get to choose the topics. All in all, fun class.

Loved this class! Dr.Korn is hilarious and keeps you interested in the material the whole time. He's also very clear about what criteria he uses to grade speeches, projects, etc. It's pretty much impossible to fail this class if you do the work.

Korn will lighten your day and you won't feel stressed going into his classes like other hard ones. He cares about his students and is very careful not to offend anyone with different viewpoints. Very inclusive and all and all a great professor! I love this class!

Excellent professor & classes! Projects may seem like extra work, but 2-3 years later you will remember communication principles and how they work for and/or against you because of these projects. For test: review major concepts in the text, attend classes and listen to class discussion. Dr. Korn keeps discussions lively & interested. 5-stars!

I took his hybrid class and I must say he is amazing. He's incredibly nice, funny, and very professional! Do yourself a favor and take his class. I found it to be very interesting and very enjoyable

Professor Korn is awesome! There is only one test and his review class makes it so easy to get an A! If you follow the grading criteria for the speeches you won't have any problem at all getting a good grade in this class. He has a great personality and makes this class fun. I would definitely recommend him!

Prof. Korn is hilarious! There is no stopping him during his lectures. He tends to go off topic and talk about other things but in the end you learn what you need to know about the topic and have a good time doing it!

Dr. Korn is awesome easy grader with few assignments. Never once opened the textbook. He's entertaining & loves to go off topic. However he does tend to be unclear about his assignments, and gets rather angry when you ask him questions/are unsure of something that he went over a month prior. He over explains to the point of confusion.

Prof. Korn was great! We had one chapter test, group project, individual paper, and a final exam. Overall this class was very interesting and fun. I'd definitely recommend taking his class.

Dr. Korn is awesome! He is super genuine and so nice! His classes are super informational and interesting! He is down to earth and very caring when it comes to his students doing well! He is particular when it comes to outlines and group projects so be aware of that! Otherwise, super fun and easy class! Highly recommend taking Dr. Korn's classes!

Professor Korn is as good as it can get for a public speaking class... He ensures the environment is respectful but also fun in the classroom. Some people may have issues presenting or speaking in front of others, but Korn will make sure you are prepared and allow you to present at another time if you are not ready. Take him! Professor Korn is the GREATEST professor I have ever had at NOVA! He is so chill, funny, and overall just a cool dude! His midterm is a little hard. The final was a group presentation which we got to work on since day 1. SUPER EASY A IF YOU DO AS YOU'RE TOLD!!

Take him. If you are nervous about public speaking it's okay because you gotta come out of your cage, you'll do just fine. You gotta be down and you have to want it all. You'll get an A just don't suck. Great professor, funny, gives awesome feedback.

I took him for public speaking. Its a actually a really easy course. If you do the work and meet his presentation criteria, its not that hard. The grades consist of 3 presentations and a midterm scantron test. Textbook not a huge must. Side note, he will dock points for wearing hats and jackets during presentations. Overall, a good class.

Perhaps the best Prof. I've ever had. I left every lecture feeling like I had truly understood a new facet of communication. Funny & open with students. All the assignments are fun. Tough to get a 100% on papers, but if you put effort you won't get below a 90%. Textbook readings optional, but VERY useful outside class. Loves his CST126/229 classes.

Made speaking in public a breeze and also helped boost my confidence in constructing a speech.

He is really nice, makes jokes, and he has a positive attitude. He is lectures are amazing and easy to understand. I would take again.

I took a hybrid & we only met once a week for an hour, but still a pretty good teacher. Very laid back and chill, goes off on tangents a lot, but still awesome. Sometimes unclear about instructions, but definitely ask- he has a lot of respect for people that ask to clarify. Graded attendance and definitely a participation class.

Hes a funny teacher and his assignments are not hard at all. He makes public speaking fun and goes over all test material. If you pay attention, youll pass. Take him!

Good professor. Show up, prepare for you speeches (two 3-5 minute individual speeches and one 10-15 minute group presentation), all in all pretty simple to get an A in the course. His lectures are interesting and he's a funny guy. Hardest part in the class is the midterm exam. You can get away with not buying the textbook, trust me.

Dr. Korn is an amazing professor. He truly cares about his students and making sure they do well in his class. Very clear on instructions for assignments. He also creates a comfortable classroom environment to present in. Always is honest and answers any questions in a fair amount of time. If you are nervous with public speaking take his class!

He is very funny and is direct of what he wants to see when it comes to presentations. I loved his class i learned a lot. The textbook is not necessary. His grading is fair and the presentations are mostly easy if youre prepared. This class is very fun and he is an amazing professor. Definitely recommend to a first year student.

Hands down the best possible choice you can take.

Professor Korn is fun & engaging, & his online class was fairly simple. He does want participation & warns that if you aren't willing to attend, you should drop the class. He likes things done his way, but it's a simple "attend & do the work" way. He cracks a lot of jokes & treats the class as adults, which some people like & others don't.

Professor Korn is an amazing teacher, however, due to the recent pandemic, he struggled this semester which is totally understandable. He told my class this was his first semester teaching over zoom so he was slightly unorganized and got upset if someone asked a question that he already went over. Fairly easy class though, I would recommend him.

As an international student, the public speaking class was the tough and the biggest challenge. Even if I put my best efforts in, I've got 89% for the final grade. I wrote a letter to Professor Korn, and fortunately, he totally understood my situation through the discussion and gave me 1% grade to get an A. Trust him, do your best, and pls take him

Professor Korn was one of the best instructors I had over my two years at NVCC. Due to the pandemic we sadly never got to meet in person, but I HIGHLY recommend you take his class. He is passionate about what he is teaching and truly cares about his students. His assignments are incredibly fair and help engage you with the subject material.

Professor Korn was great funny at times but overall very easy class to take. Just like most other classes he appreciates participation during the lectures. The class is overall very easy long as you do your work and will have groups and group work as well. Enjoyed the course overall!

Professor Korn really cares about his students and their grades, hes a lenient grader and is understanding. He really cares about participation though, if no one participates his mood will be ruined and youll hate the class so do your best to participate. Overall hes a great professor, definitely take him! He's a fair grader so you have to work properly to get an A. He will be very upset if nobody participates in his class. Camera is mandatory. Hw is not too hard and not too much.

I took an online class and only saw him once on a zoom meeting. Hes funny and the class is easy. He gives you practice questions every chapter and those are the questions he uses for the tests. Theres one group project. A couple of speeches but he graded easy. I read directly off a paper and made zero eye contact and still got an A in the class.

He's an oddball but a good guy. In my opinion, he is the best in the communications department here at NOVA. Grades tough, confusing due dates, will let some late work slide. This was an asynch class so there was only one lecture on zoom- mandatory. Very quiz and test heavy, textbook is very prominent in the class. Textbook was the teacher.

Dr. Korn is a great professor. He really loves what he teaches and genuinely cares about his students. Pay attention, do the reading, and communicate with him if there is anything you are having problems with. He really wants you to do well, learn the material, and look at the way you communicate a little better. 10 out of 10 would take again!

Dr. Korn is an instructor that pays great attention to his students and goes above and beyond in his instruction. If you pay close attention to the directions for the assignments, obtaining an A grade should not be difficult. Take his class if you are the type of person who enjoys keeping on top of things and completing homework in a timely manner

I recently had the pleasure of taking a course with Doctor Korn, and I must say, he was a truly fantastic instructor. Not only was he knowledgeable in his field, but he also had a great sense of humor that made every class session enjoyable. One of the things that stood out to me about him was how accommodating he was to his students' needs.

Just took Dr. Korn in the first 7-week period of this spring semester. He does not mess around with bs, it's straight to the point and essentially gives you a formula for passing with a perfect score. We did 2 major projects, an informative and persuasive presentation; both required outlines, which templates were given. For the final u need txtbook

Dr. Korn offers a clear pathway to getting a good grade in the class. He has good energy especially for those morning classes to help keep things interesting. He's very understanding and often changed due dates if he felt too much pressure was on us. Very approachable, funny, and is open to constructive criticism as well.

Mr. Korn is one of a kind teacher. He is very outgoing, funny, and laidback. I took him for a 3 hour long online zoom class which he somehow made fun!

I really liked the way he approaches lesson topics and he makes the class entertaining as it was a long zoom meeting. He's also very good at giving feedback and suggestions. I would definitely take his class.

A true gem in the eyes of someone who is particularly shy and is still actively learning English as their second language!

Professor Korn went above and beyond to make sure that I had the best grade and experience in his class possible, and while there was one speech that I did struggle with at first, he made sure that I got all the support I needed to ace each speech along with his overall class. This is coming from someone who is an introvert!!

Dr. Korn is an absolute genie, to say the least. You can tell that he genuinely tries his best to make sure everyone passes with the highest grade, on top of the quality effort he puts into his lectures as well. Definitely recommend him if you need to take this course, especially as a gen ed for most.

Prof Korn discussed some pretty awesome personal stories during class that were unmatched in detail that I've ever to see any other professor have in account. Such a genuine individual, take him while you can as he doesn't teach every semester.

Took time out of my Christmas to say that Dr. Korn was truly a joy to take, especially towards teaching a subject that was initially such a struggle for me.

Professor Korn is extremely knowledgeable. He's straightforward and goes exactly by the syllabus. He's super cool accessible after class. It's great to talk to him after class, he treats you like a person, not just another student and he's super down to earth. I loved this class! The criteria is very straight forward, he gives great feedback and is lenient with grading and turning things in. The homework is pretty simple, this class wasn't a heavy course load at all. I took his 3 hour online course on Thursdays, at first I thought a 3 hour class was a little scary but he made it so enjoyable!

Awesome personality!!

Tough grader but is a really nice guy. He says the workload is a lot so be prepared. Their aren't a lot of assignments so its easy to get a low grade. He says the text book isn't needed but I took the final only for their to be questions that you need the textbook for. I later found out he posts a review of the textbook chapters in each module.

Dr. Korn made the class easy, and the grading criteria were easy to follow. Everything is well explained in the syllabus. He is patient and a very kind professor. Attendance is important because there is a big group project that is worth a lot, so it is important to keep up with your peers and ask Dr. Korn for help if needed. I would retake him.

Fast grader and follows his rubric so very easy. Not many assignments. There was a Book but I didn't get it and I don't think it was necessary because he had Slides presentation for the chapters. I did via zoom. 10/10 would take again. Very interesting class and fun and engaging proffesor.

Great Professor! He made class very engaging. I took his class on zoom for 7 weeks and I couldn't tell that it was an intensive class because all the assignments were manageable. He also made sure we had enough time to submit those assignments. Would 10/10 recommend.

Professor Korn was amazing! He is very open for suggestion during his online lectures. I had him for fall 2024 semester and in a 7-weeks class. He is usually very quick in terms of responding. But expects you to have you camera on for the online session because he says that he likes to engage with his students during his lectures. A Great Professor

Professor Korn is an engaging and compassionate teacher. The course structure is straightforward, with manageable assignments. Using resources like unstuck study alongside the free textbook really helped with study prep.

Dr. Korn is an amazing professor who is very knowledgeable and passionate about his subject. He takes the time to help and work with all the students to ensure they understand and get a good grade, and his lecture style is so fun! He is truly a caring and respectable professor. :)

Although it was a bit difficult to understand what he was asking for on some papers, he gives good and clear feedback, is very understanding, and doesn't grade harshly. After all, it is a communications class, so communicate! I will be taking another class with Dr. Korn.

Took CST 100 on a whim for the extra credit and it ended up being my favorite class of the semester. Dude is super chill and hilarious. Only one open book mid-term and the rest are just video-recorded presentation assignments (it is a communications class after all).
