One of the best esl instructors in Deanza. He's so helpful, he knows his stuff very good. He has finished the whole set of the webster dictionary which god knows how many books it is. So he knows lots of words, very good at essay correction.
good teacher and good person. Many activity and presentation in class, you can improve you English well after you take his class. if you want to get A, you need to make some effort.HIGHLY RECCOMMEND
I like his class.It's not so hard, but you have to do your HW or you can't understand.The midterm is easy.
His calss lacked orgainized.I didn;t learn many form hin since he always gave us homework answers and didn;t talk to much although he's knowledgeable. I dislike the way he always mentioned that he was a experoenced teacher and author.Not a helpful class.

Easy class.He's nice and always encourages students. But he doesn't give us a lot of feedbacks to assignments. As long as you act nice and polite, he probably gives you a good grade.

Good teacher! Very interesting class! You'll need to work, but not very hard. Take his class and you will not be sorry. The presentations were interesting! All depends on you, but Mr Lee tries to do all his best to make his class useful. Good explanations and organization!

He's the best teacher ever. His class is hell fun and he gives us a lot of good and useful stuff. And if you have some private problem, he's gonna help you for sure. Take his class. He's not that much easy for grade, but I'm sure you can enjoy his class.

His class is very helpful.A top professor-not easy in grading, but very well in organizing. He teaches with clear and funny examples.But only one problem:his ESL-24 is linked with one of the worst teachers of De Anza- Clara Lam!
he is the greatest professor that i know in De Anza. he always does his best on every his work. personally, he is a very kind and nice person. his class is not boring at all. awsome~

he is a good intructor,likes to give jokes.I don't need to do anything in his class and the presentation even.All you need is listen to him inclass which helps a lot.He's hard grader but finally I got an A.Highly recommended.You guys will have fun in his class.
He really communicates with his students well. An interesting guy who goes easy on student even though he always scares us how strict he is. I recommend this instructor.
wana have fun and learn? take professor lee's class. you'll be thankful you did. he never wastes a minute in class. a little tough on grades. but hey, the stuff you learn will help you through college. he's the best teacher.
Great teacher. He uses a lot of interesting materials (joks, interesting stories, great essaies, and many group activities) to explain boring concepts. I learned a lot from him. Hope you will too.

He likes to show off all the time!!! This is the thing I don't like the most. He is trying to be nice but sometimes could be very tough. He is kind of lazy, so midtrem and final are easy.Only four essays you need to write in the whole quarter, so it is easy anyway.

He probably wrote the nice reviews himself. If you want to learn English, never take his class and pay attention to this black list: Lee, Lam, Heistein, Goodwin...You will never learn anything if you take their classes because it's totally ****. They don't give a**** about you!

He is funny and useful. I already take two class with him. Now I plan to take THIRD course with him again. Nice to people and work hard to student. I don't believe why someone said he is lazy. He used a lot of way to make boring class be interesting. Nice teacher to follow.
He is a really nice asian teacher. having fun during the class. he nevers talk too much in class. and always make us to speak more and lot of activities (group work) in class. not too much assignment have to do.
He is not funny anymore. This class is THIRD class i have taken with him. His lecture almost same as before, even same joke. Boring class and he turns very strict grade on essay. Not help except bad grade.

It is true that he is strict grader but as long as you thoroughly understand the basic structures of writing essay and put best efford to it, you will receive a good great. I've got an A. If you have taken his class before, you might be bored because he repeats and emphasizes the basics. I was taking this class as reveiw.
i took his class last qt. hes the BEST TEACHER EVER. hes jus like a dad, a VERY COOL DAD!!! take him take him, u will not only learn a lot from him but also have a LOT oF FUN!! =D HIGHLY RECOMMENT HIM!!!!!! Mr.Lee, YOU ROCK!!!

He tends to give positive advice to student's presentation. His class is easy to follow and easy to get an A. Join each activity with your heart, you would have fun, improve your speaking, and make friends.
Now,I'm taking two class with him. I wanna say one thing. Take his class whenever u have a chance to take. He's the best teacher I ever had, and I haven't fallen asleep yet, I won't.....
Good class. Wasn't very helpful for my English level, but wasn't a tough class either, so it was good. Not many homework, assignments. Average level exams. RECOMMENDABLE. For an easy A? yeah.

His grammar class was interesting. His explanations are clear and fun. But the end of the quarter, he rushed to teach everything for us. He gave us group presentations about grammar, too. If you like to talk in front of audience, I recommend you to take his class.

If you think you're going to get an easy A with him on writing class, forget it. You'll spend a lot time read the text because his lecture a bit confusing. My advice to you take him for reading, listening and speaking but NEVER on WRITING.

Fun and caring teacher who truly connects with his students. His class was completely helpful and he totally earns all of his students' respect.
Grading was kind of unfair because I really had no absence and almost did most of my homework and aslo good preparation for finnal but only got an C+. he also wanted us to meet him in his office at least once which gave us extra credits. The most importing thing is I learned nothing from this class

He was the esiest teacher, but I could not learn anything from his class. He had some favorit students and treated us unfairly. He did not use a text book. He did not come class on time. He did not give us assignments. Many of students was doing their homework of other classes during class.

Go to class, pay attention, and you will be rewarded. Grades on the quality of your work, so if you work hard to improve, you will do well. Use some common sense, people. Funny guy. Office hours are helpful if you really want to improve. I've learned so much!
Tell you this: I was scared of writing before taking his class. Now I'm confident and effectively use the writing skill I learned from him at work. Take his class. It'll help you too.

I want to be fair. He's great but not that easy. If you take his class, you will certainly learn something from him. He gives students second chance, and he wants everyone in his class to be successful. You may find he's tough, but you will discover that he is actually helping you sooner or later in high level English courses.
Don't expect to learn something from this guy. The worst thing is that he teaches nothing, but he has a high expectation. And he is not organized like other instructors. He does not provide the schedule. I don't think he speaks English perfect. Wondering how he became a ESL teacher.

Tests are so hard and he won't give scope. So you have to remember EVERY WORD of those charpters inorder to pass the class. Also, lecture is boring. Think before you choose.

Received A but still feel he is a horrible teacher ever ! He couldn't correct anything in my assignments, then he just simply assumed that were not my works !!! FAST lessons, WEIRD teaching style! if you already know the basis, you will feel OK ! Not recommended ps ONLY Chinese students and students whom he likes get good grades.

Mr. Lee is my best professor! He has very warm heart and funny. He cares student a lot and also he does not want student to get fail. He always try to find student's good point. I really like his teaching style. I strongly recommend him.

I think he is a nice professor, but you couldn't study a lot from his class. His evaluations of all of in-class writing for you is not reasonable, not specific. Many classmates who don't know how to improve got low points . No grammar teaching. I can't get great progress in his class. Just for pass.

Writing assignment is very tough graded. Test is almost impossible, noextra credit, he also out trick question to eliminate possible A. Presentation is one week before final, you will have less than 1 week to work with a bunch of people you never work with or talk to before. His teaching style is very traditional. Take him for Pass/No Pass only

I was at ESL 253. There is no system, there is no clarity in the educational process, there is no transparency in the assessments, there is no extra credit. If you have high grammar knowledge, you can take a class to move on to the next one. I do not recommend the teacher to those who want to get knowledge and fair assessment.

He has this really lazy vibe from him. Class was unclear and confusing. It seemed like he was about to retire. DO NOT take this professor. Spend your time on other professors who really care for your education.

He doesn't give proper feedback so that you will make some mistake on assignment, and he will take your credit. And he gives you a little bit of assignment and exam. Someone says it is good but only if the professor is not a tough grader. Since he's tough, only a few mistakes in one of exams or assignments hurt your grade a lot. I regret so much
he expects students do A while he is teaching F. I didn't know how to do his homework, because he only said superficially about the homework. Nevertheless, i just did my best and.... guess what HE GAVE ME NOTHING!. I mean he gave me a zero credit
He told us to take off our masks and keeps selling anti US government movies. He also said to take cruise. Very weird vibe and disliked the class. I disliked the class.
I never got A below this teacher give me almost fail. Very bad teacher, don't give us a second time to try, even you work very hard. The requirement is strange. I Will not take this teacher again. This teacher likes you boast, even cheat yourself.

What a fun class!! Mr. Lee and his lessons are a gem. You shouldn't miss his class: His very well-considered curriculum will improve your presentation skills as long as you follow. His teaching method is practical, and his instructions and materials are very supportive. Be not passive but active in the class. You will learn tons from this class!!
Most of his class are listening to peers talking, such as breakout room discussion, or presentation. He taught nothing. And also he never comments the useful information on your homework and rarely provides comments on time. I will never take his class again.
