Lyons is a great guy. His upper level management classes are smaller so he has the chance to get into more detail. His tests are worded a little tricky occasionally but overall definitely take his class if you can.
Lyons is great. He's a really cool guy. But to be honest, as long as you read the book and study the right chapters and power points online, you could rarely go to class and come out with an A. Tests are really straightforward. But his lectures are great and worth going to just to enjoy his cuteness. He scratches his beard when frustrated.
Professor Lyons is a great professor and he really cares about his students and the topic. You don't have to go to class but there are attendance points and its worth it just to hear him lecture. He is very entertaining and has some great stories that are very real world applicable.
If he still uses MindTap, it's a terrible website in terms of reliability. But for the test, study the flashcards it's made for you, do the quizzes and study centers, and review the homework and tests won't be that bad. Pushes a lot of deadlines back for assignments. Final isn't cumulative but trickier than first two tests. Memos aren't that bad.
Lyons is a great professor and person. He cares about his students. If you come to class and pay attention, the lectures are actually interesting. He always pushes back deadlines. Attendance counts toward your grade and you will have case memos, but they're not bad at all. Tests are relatively easy. Great course and guy.
You will learn nothing from his lectures, but you have to go to them because he uses responseware polling questions to take attendance. He "teaches" by throwing a slide up, saying a few words off of it, skipping like 5 slides and then telling a joke. No point in trying to take notes because he goes through slides so fast. This class is pointless.
Didn't love the class but if it's required I definitely recommend Dr. Lyons. He was absolutely hilarious and one of my favorite professors I've ever had. The class isn't terribly difficult but the material isn't very interesting. Attendance is tracked with clickers so you have to go to class.
Lyons is a really interesting lecturing and really nice teacher. If you go to class the tests are really easy. He does take attendance with clicker questions so if you skip you will miss them. You have to buy the book because of the 3 case studies he assigns, but he will usually extend the due dates for them which is good.
Really lax. Awesome, hilarious lectures. Besides 3 case memos, no HW. Tests are straightforward: just read the textbook. Also considerate in pushing back due dates for football games, breaks, etc. Has a very "cool" vibe overall. Makes you wonder if he's still a college kid at heart. Would definitely retake the course if I could.
This class was so pointless and the material is so dry. The tests in this class SHOULD be easy, but the questions are so indirect and it is easy to walk away with a B every time. Good luck with this boring class
Lyons is one of the most personable professors at UGA, and is an overall great guy. I was told the class was easier than it actually ended up being; don't underestimate it. Study the powerpoint slides for a few days before tests and you should be fine. If you don't care about the subject, lectures may seem long, but it's very interesting if you are
Lyons is a world-class lecturer, i.e. very funny and easy to understand. He uses polling questions (no clicker) to take attendance. There are 3 cases (1000-2000 word papers) that are not difficult, but time consuming. The tests are fair. Reading the book and completing the MindTap assignments really help.
Lyons is awesome. His lectures are bearable because he makes jokes and uses stories. He loves to help his students out(pushing back deadlines. curving tests). He uses polling questions for attendance but even if you miss a few classes you can get the code from friends. Amazing professor!
He's my favorite professor at UGA. Class is discussion based but it's interesting. Attendance is mandatory but even if it wasn't I'd recommend going anyway because he'll tell you what's on the test and sometimes will tell you specific test questions. Took him for MGMT3000 and loved him so much I took MGMT5440 as an elective.
Lyons is a really funny guy and his lectures are engaging but he tends to digress a little. Management isn't supposed to be a really hard class so long as you get everything done. There are online attendance questions every day that you have to have a code to access, but a ton of people just get it from friends and don't go to lecture.
Frustrating that he makes you spend hundreds on online subscriptions he doesn't know how to use himself. The "turning point" daily attendance is not one, but several questions you answer from when class begins until it ends. If you zone out at all you may miss a question. Otherwise he is a hip guy with good taste in music. Boring lectures.
Lyons is a funny, chill dude. He gives attendance questions in class and has three 1,000 word papers due during the semester, as well as two tests and a final. He tends to digress and is technologically incompetent, but if you heavily study two days before the test you will do fine. You just have to teach yourself since Lyons can't lecture well.
Attendance questions every lecture, and are very similar to test questions. Speaks super quickly so it's almost impossible to take notes. Make quizlets from the PPT slides he makes & screenshot attendance questions to practice them in order to do well on tests.
Take Dr. Lyons!!!!! He is super awesome, cannot recommend him enough. Constantly pushes tests and assignments back, curves test grades. He is genuinely nice and wants everyone to do well. Lectures can be long and very boring but the class isn't very hard if you pay attention to the slides and study the night before the test. He is seriously great!!
Lyons has been my favorite professor so far at UGA - not just because he pushes assignments and tests back. He doesn't take himself too seriously and recognizes if you're in the class its because it's required. Does track attendance and isn't that great at responding to emails but isn't too hard of a grader on homework or tests (curves)
I really enjoyed Lyons lectures but he talks SO fast so I would usually end up learning everything on my own. He is a hilarious guy and his tests are easy. You have to write three memos but he gives you the answers for them. Would take him again!
Lyons is a very like-able guy who has an entertaining lecture. The tests aren't hard, but definitely harder than expected. You will have to write 3 case studies which he usually will extend the due dates for and are graded fairly easily.
One of the best prof I had. It is not an easy class but Lyons teaches it better than any other prof in MGMT3000. Tests are pretty difficult but he does his best to prepare you. His lectures are very interesting. He loves pushing due dates so just ask him. 3 memos with 1k 2k words, most ppl never make above 90 on those.
Awesome professor. Very passionate about what he is teaching and tries to make lectures both interesting and relevant, very funny guy. 3 tests, 3 1k case assignments (fairly easy), and and attendance. Very straight forward class, easy to study for. Textbook is necessary because not everything from lecture is on the exams. Always pushes back dates.
Lyons is awesome, he's nice and pushes assignments back all the time. Listens to good music, very chill guy. His tests are long and its full of reading passages. I don' think his tests are easy at all. But he is willing to help and he's just overall a very nice human being.
Lyons is amazing. The material is pretty dry, and he moves a little fast so I had to teach myself a lot of the material, but it isn't hard. He plays good music before class, and pushes back deadlines ALL the time to help you out. He genuinely cares for his students and wants you to like him. Pro tip: clap when he enters the room or starts anything/
Your grade is determined by a few tests and case studies (same for all MGMT 3000 teachers). I was able to get A's on my case studies just by simply following the directions clearly and using terminology from the textbook. Attendance is not required but it makes the tests easier. Dr. Lyons is a solid teacher and a cool guy overall
Lyons is great and, based on what my friends have said about other MGMT 3000 classes, the best professor to take. His lectures are interesting and funny although fast because of all the material covered. But he does make sure to highlight important stuff with polling questions. Gave us multiple extensions on papers and was generally a delight.
I thought that he was a nice guy but I did not enjoy his class. The material covered in MGMT 3000 was extremely dry and he tried to make it interesting but it didn't work for me. Studying for the exams was a major pain and so were the 3 case studies. I appreciate him moving the dates back on the memos, though.
cool guy, pushes back hella deadlines, but class is low-key he a waste because he breezes through the slides, but there's top hat questions/attendance so you have to go. it's a pretty decent class tho, easy content. mind tap textbook exercises help a lot
Lyons is really cool. He'll push back the due date for papers if it conflicts (Finance test the day before). He'll mention points to focus on for the papers in class. WRITE DOWN TOP HAT QUESTIONS; it'll help a ton with tests. His PPTs are pretty good, but I'd read the book too. There's three tests worth 25% each. (MGMT 3000)
Awesome professor with a lot of jokes. He relates to students and keeps them engaged in lecture. Tests came from what was talked about in lecture although it helps to read the textbook. There is also 4 case assignments with peer reviews, and as long as you write about what was asked in the assignment descriptions, you'll be fine.
Pretty easy class. Tests are straight forward. Study lecture power points to do well in class. Professor is pretty chill, woke, and funny. He also extends due dates a lot.
Lyons is absolutely hilarious. You will have 2-3 tests and a noncumulative final as well as 3 long (1000-2000 word) case studies to write (they arent hard if you read it and BS it). Studying is just memorizing terms from powerpoint and the tests are just application questions of the terms. definitely best mgmt 3000 teacher
Lyons is one of my favorite teachers I've ever had. This class is SO easy. There are a few papers and other assignments in addition to tests, but are all super easy. Highly recommend going to class as he does use TopHat, but class is always enjoyable. Lyons is truly the GOAT
Lyons is a super cool guy. Always moving things back and you can tell he genuinely cares about his students. The info is very bland and you can tell he thinks so too but he tries to make it more interesting with examples and Ted Talks. Overall easy class just study for the tests, do the hw and case memos
I'm not even sure if there is a difference between the honors and regular class as far as material goes, so I would definitely recommend this to honors students! Lyons is also a super funny chill guy. An A in this class is 92 and above which is really nice. This isn't a blow off, and you have to put in some work, but a pretty easy A overall!
Really funny guy and entertaining lectures. Really scattered with all the assignments you have to do but none of them are super difficult. Grades stuff quickly and is always flexible for the students.
I love this prof. His vibe brightens my day when I walk into class. At first it may seem overwhelming with the # of assignments, but they're actually really manageable and easy once you get the hang of it. We watch videos, listen to music, and he makes the class easy. He does tophat so go to class every day, but you'll be glad you went.
Lyons is a solid choice. He understands the daily work and life that college students go through so hes so willing to help with work, deadlines, etc. His tests end up being really content heavy because theres only a midterm and a final. 2 case studies, weekly assignments, and TopHat is graded.
Professor Lyons is absolutely not accessible outside of class, even during a pandemic when we are taking online classes and have no other way to reach him. This class is test heavy and is graded on 2 case studies, weekly deliverables, and tophat. Course could have been set up better, but overall easy if you truly pay attention in class.
Lyons is a great professor. He aims to make his lectures as entertaining as possible and really wants to keep you engaged. He does move very quickly, however, most of the material is very easy to understand, and I can't fault him. Weekly homework assignments, 2 case memo papers with peer review, and 3 tests. Do quizlets and study. You'll do great!
There's a lot of homework, 2 case memos, and TopHat stuff, but he always pushes back the dates. There's a lot of stuff in eLC and people complain about his disorganization, but I think he's a pretty great professor (although the info is dry and you have to memorize so much for exams.) Nothing impossible - just got to memorize!
Lyons is amazing. Tests are easy if you study the powerpoints. He uses TopHat, so go to class. Lectures are interesting and funny. Def take him!
All in all great dude. Looked forward to going to class because it seems like your friend is teaching the course.
Loved this class!!! Definitely recommend taking him because he thinks he is funny, so the lectures are entertaining. He is what u think of as a stereotypical college professor, but he requires TopHat for attendance so you should go to class for an easy grade. Tests aren't that hard but you def have to study for them. 10/10 recommend taking him!
Lyons was awesome! Really funny guy, and he does Tophat during class so attendance is mandatory. Tests are easy as long as you study. The only additional thing required for the Honors version of the class was a simulation, which wasn't bad at all. Highly recommend taking him!
As long as you put minimal effort into this class you will do well. You have to go to class because of tophat, but I never paid attention and did well on all of the tests. As long as you look over the powerpoints before the test you'll do great! Take him if possible.
Some people complain about Lyons and how he's sort of hare-brained, but he's a really chill and laid back guy. As long as you get your assignments done in time you won't freak out about deadlines. Similar to his intro mgmt class with lots of assignments, group assignments, etc. Lecture heavy. Should be a relatively easy A. Highly recommend.
Professor Lyons is one of my favorite management professors at UGA. He is very accommodating and is always moving due dates back in order to help students. He makes the subject matter interesting. I have had him for two classes, and I would take him again if I could. He goes a little fast in lectures, but if you are prepared you should be fine.
Lyons is so funny. He seriously is the most easy going professor. His tests can be tricky but aren't too hard, and you can easily get an A in this class by doing well on the extra assignments.
This pandemic robbed me of having an in-person class with this man. He is transparent with his grading policies, expectations, and exam content. He cares about his students genuinely so much and it makes me want to bake him an apple pie. His exams are super straightforward and he grades in-class assignments leniently. Easy A as long as you try.
I loved Lyons. You really have to watch and take notes on all lectures, and also take notes from reading the book. There are many assignments that boost your grade and some group work. Overall whether you like the material just depends on your personal preferences. Lyons is just hilarious and extremely intelligent, and I'd recommend this class.
He considers us as his sweet children he enjoys management and wants us to do well in his class. Tests are pretty straightforward and based on definition and application in examples. I think if you read key terms and fully read lectures. You should be fine
He likes to crack jokes & will call out students in class emails. Says to buy the textbook, but I didn't read it once. However, you have to read a lot of scholarly articles for this class. There's homework assignments every week & some group projects, but they aren't hard. You definitely need to study for his tests.
All professors should be as passionate as Lyons when it comes to teaching. Course itself was pretty easy and also interesting: 2 exams and a few group assignments related to reading articles and making justified claims, plus a group report at the end of the semester. Textbook wasn't used as much, but includes some cases for the final to review over
I only wish I had gotten to take Lyons in person. I can tell he's a great professor and a great guy, but taking his class online was tough. His lectures were very long and you have multiple homeworks due each week. Additionally he uses a service called peerdoc instead of ELC or Google, and it is extremely frustrating to use. I recommend him still.
He is so sweet and caring. Test questions are so long but its not that hard if you study well. if you understand and watch lectures, and study slides, I don't think you need to buy the textbook. If you are someone usually understands better through reading, then maybe get it, but otherwise its not that necessary.
Lyons is awesome and he really cares about this class and his students. The stuff you learn can actually be used in real life. Lectures are long but interesting. The homework load is heavy but it's pretty easy. Tests are a breeze as long as you study the lecture notes and the homework. There are some short case studies as well.
Lyons is a really fair professor and a pretty nice dude. He makes lectures pretty fun although he can go fast. Definitely review the slides and understand the concepts and how to apply to a business and recognizing them and youll get an A! Also Lyons if youre reading this, youre ex didnt deserve you!
Professor Lyons managed to make a management class entertaining and intriguing in a way I definitely was not expecting going into the semester. The material he teaches goes back and fourth from content to anecdote/examples, but specific examples are not tested on and only exist to make the class more fun and to help solidify your understanding.
As a platinum member at the Marriot, Lyons made sure to flex his worth and is an amazing man. Many relationship lessons/advice has been absorbed by going to class. 3 test stemming from his slides. I didn't read the book at all, just do the PeerDoc assignments and study the slides and you'll be more than fine - He extends due dates all the time.
Lyons is the GOAT. He made COVID semester really doable and was considerate of our time and other commitments. He does a great job at teaching MGMT and connects the material to real life examples. Study the slides and HW and be able to recognize concepts in business applications and you will get an A!
AMAZING professor. Very engaging lectures getting the class involved and providing real-world applications and life lessons. You will learn a lot in his class. 10/10 recommend
Two tests, a mandatory final, and weekly individual and group assignments that are a literal pain but are graded for effort and participation. Super fun guy and class. Cares more about you understanding the content than memorizing it. Study power-points and weekly deliverables. Need more professors like him at UGA.
Lyons is a fantastic professor, he's so funny and he keeps his class very engaged throughout! The class itself isn't too bad if you just take notes and read the textbook.
Lyons was one of the kindest, funniest, most personable professors I've had here at UGA so far. I highly recommend him to anyone and everyone with the opportunity to take one of his classes. A real gem among professors here.
I love Professor Lyons. He is so caring towards his students and truly wants us all to succeed. His classes were enjoyable to go to and he is very passionate about the subject. The course itself is pretty easy. I didn't ever read the book and made an A. I would definitely take another class with Lyons just so I could have him as a professor again!
Just a really cool dude
Lyons is a funny, caring professor. He always extends homework/group assignment due dates. Takes attendence polls for grade (COVID Year). Content is pretty easy but you do need to study and memorize it. Studying Chapter Powerpoints and vocab was enough to get an A in the class. Test 1 and 2 both had over 50% of the class score in the 90-100% range.
Professor Lyons was the best professor I've ever had. Class is super easy if you show up and read the PowerPoints.
Lyons is a man of the people. He really cares about his students. He cancelled classes and gave us extensions most of the time when we asked. To do best in the class, I recommend buying MindTap at the beginning of the semester and doing the practices tests for each unit. Along with just going to class to learn the case studies, you will do well.
Do yourself a favor and take his class. You don't need Cengage or even the textbook at all for that matter. Go to class, listen to his lectures, participate, and enjoy them. You will do great!
3 tests, 4 group assignments, weekly assignments and polling in class as participation grade. Make quizlets of everything in PowerPoints plus vocab from the textbook, memorize it and you will excel on tests. Stay on top of weekly assignments, group assignments are manageable and he doesn't grade very strictly. Dude is funny, pretty easy class.
Professor Lyons is one of the best teachers I have had at UGA, and I loved his class. I thought he made his lectures pretty interesting and didn't have a super basic approach. He gives a lot of scenarios with concepts which actually helps to understand them better for the tests. In addition, tests are straightforward and he's just a cool person.
Content is boring but Lyons makes it enjoyable. Very flexible with due dates and wants his students to learn. Makes lots of jokes and encourages student participation. 10/10 would recommend. But you cannot go wrong with either of the MGMT3000 professors, they're all good.
Lyons is my favorite professor I've had so far. There were extra credit opportunities in our class and the lectures covered almost all of the content. Some test material was only covered in the book with case studies but that's the only time I ever read the textbook. He's highly respectable and gives plenty examples for important concepts.
Lots of homework but he is an easy grader, just do the assignments and you'll get good grades. Participate in class since it is part of the grade. Tests are pretty easy but you should study a little bit. He is a cool professor and the content is interesting, definitely an easy summer course if you need an elective. Textbook unnecessary.
Cool guy, interesting lectures, just memorize his PowerPoints. Never looked at a textbook.
Lyons is an interesting guy and his test are mostly stuff from slides. However, I found it hard to communicate with him and he doesnt talk about assignments or group projects much in class. Also didnt return our grades until the final day which was annoying.
One of my fav professors I have taken at UGA. A real gem in Terry. Such a nice dude who makes his class interesting. Found myself wanting to go to his class because I enjoyed his lectures so much. HW and tests are easily manageable. This will be a relief in your Terry core classes.
Chill guy. Grade is mostly from tests. Same reading/homework layout as MGMT3000. A couple group projects i think, one was a presentation. Tests felt subjective but he took out bad questions later i think. felt like grades were sort of random and thrown together at the end. Overall nice guy and interesting class.
Don't buy the textbook. Super easy class, I got an A on all the exams. Man just played videos in class the last month. Take him, it's an easy class and he's funny.
As someone who is not interested in business (its my minor), I found this class extraordinarily dull and thought he was kind of entitled and strange. He makes his political views quite clear through some jokes insulting the opposite party. I did not appreciate his weird teaching style, but I'm sure the typical Terry student would love him.
Professor Lyons is one of my favorite professors I have had throughout UGA. He is clearly passionate about what he teaches and hopes to engage students in the material during lectures. I thought the tests, homework, and participation grading were fair. I enjoyed his lectures so much I am taking another one of his classes, definitely recommend it!
Lyons is a G. 2 easy tests and a final. You'll be fine without the textbook; I mainly studied the homework he gave throughout the semester. He is clearly very intelligent and is super flexible with due dates. There are a few group projects which can be annoying, but getting together with your group is more difficult than the assignments themselves.
I loved this class with Lyons. He taught you everything you needed to know and the tests were straightforward. He was approachable and easy to talk to, and he really tried to make class fun. I would definitely take him again.
Down-to-earth guy. Take him. 'Nuff said.
Lyons is fr that dude. Best professor I've had in my whole college career. Mad easy class and he's legit so funny. Easiest class plus he makes u want to come just by his personality.
Professor Lyons has been one of the coolest teachers I have had at UGA as far as personality. As far as teaching, I did not particularly care for the heavy lecturing but it served its purpose and went over all information needed for his tests. The homework was always easy and graded very lightly. Group assignments were also pretty easily graded.
Lyons is a slow grader and doesn't really teach anything. He also can be a little bit unprofessional with some of his salty emails and remarks in class. I understand that management itself can be heavily based on common sense, but I couldn't convince myself that this class is worth my money and time.
Prof. Lyons was so freaking funny. I looked forward to class because he would always make us laugh and was so untraditional. He made learning unintimidating and was overall just a beast. His class is also very easy if you just go to class (although its tempting to skip). I made an A with minimal studying just with class attendance.
Lyons is one of the best prof i have ever had. He is so funny and keeps his class entertained. 10/10 recommend you taking a class with him if you can.
The class is very easy and the lectures are useful. He's pretty funny and tries to make management as entertaining as possible which, doesn't really work that well but it's no fault of his own, management is so exceptionally boring that I don't think any professor can make it entertaining. You have to take the class anyways so take Lyons.
Very entertaining prof, breaks down concepts and makes it easy to understand through current events. Attendance is for a grade, and 3-4 group projects throughout the semester. Touches controversial topics but remains respectful of everyone's views. If you are easily offended, take someone else.
I enjoyed this class purely because of Professor Lyon's personality. Although I did get a good grade in the class, it took a good amount of work (especially on group projects). Sometimes, however, he could be a bit unorganized, and the pace of the class was a bit inconsistent/
Showing up = 5%, homework = 20%, 3 exams each 25%. Tells you to buy the textbook- DON'T- everything on exams is from his lecture slides which he posts. Goes fast through lecture, but you should go because of participation and they're fun. Good guy-would definitely take him again even if he has some hot takes. HW and group projects are easy.
10/10 professor. I enjoyed coming to class for his lectures. Lyons made management more fun.
Great professor. Attendance is mandatory but he makes you want to show up to class with his fun personality and interesting lectures. If you spend a minimal amount of time studying, the tests will feel like common sense questions. Picking this guy is a no brainer, especially since you'll prolly have to deal with the stress of Pope for fina3000.
Lyons is a great professor . He cares greatly about his students and gets along with them well. Makes lots of jokes in class and keeps the students very involved. He also is very knowledgeable an passionate about ethics. One of my favorite classes and professors I have taken at Georgia.
He is very understanding and reasonable. Very engaging lectures, made learning fun. Although I would read slides before class since he goes fast sometimes. Take him i
The best professor I have ever had at UGA. Has the unique ability to pull something interesting out of the most boring topics.
Fantastic professor. Keeps classes engaging and actually interesting. My only complaint about this particular class was the flipped classroom format. I don't know if its his decision, but I just think it's a huge waste of class time.
Amazing professor!
Lyons was a chill professor. His lectures were interesting but I didn't really know how we could be tested on it. The clickers are for completion but you get bonus points if you get it right and it ended up being ~1% bonus on my final grade. 92 is an A not a 93 which is nice. Make sure you do good on the group assignments they're worth a lot.
Lyons is a funny guy but a pretty bad teacher. Extremely disorganized even for a small honors class: always forgetting to post slides and having to be reminded, messing up deadlines and Peer Doc assignments, typos everywhere on tests, and taking forever to grade. Moreover, he spends copious amounts of time in lecture on nonrelvant material
I could not recommend Lyons enough. Guy is hands down best teacher I've had at UGA and possibly whole academic career. Like somebody else said, has an exceptional ability to facilitate discussions out of seemingly boring topics.
Good teacher. says "etcetera" in every sentence
Actually had him for Graduate level Negotiations. I am terrible at negotiating and failed at it multiple times. But Dr. Lyons gives candid feedback. Sometimes getting that feedback is an "emotional event", but the tough love approach makes him a good professor. I'm glad this class is over, and honestly I hated it, but it was a great class.
This professor is just so irritating dude. He is a pretty big conspiracy theorist and says things that make you question why he teaches at UGA. He goes off on so many tangents its really hard to understand the core concepts of what he talks about. He forces attendance through polling and makes unappealing jokes for people that got it "wrong".
If you're a franklin student getting a business minor, his class is one of the easiest thing youll ever take. However he takes jabs at non-terry students whever possible and is a bit of a creep (he spent 10 minutes on the first day of class talking about how hot he thought his college girlfriend was).
The honors section has extra assignments with a three-part honors assignment and three group projects across the semester. His teaching style is definitely not for everyone; it's much more tangential and lacks structure at times. However, tests are straightforward and you can do well with memorizing concepts and looking at examples from homework.
Test heavy grade, but they're easy. Funny, has some hot takes, but is actually engaging if you pay attention. Don't need to go to class to do well just watch review jeopardy that he posts. He's cool and chill and always moves back the test if it's at bad timing. Take him he's the goat. and was in a kai cenat video... so.
Lyons obviously understands all of the concepts he is teaching, but goes on tangents and rants during his lectures that take it off track and are unrelated to the content. The class and content are incredibly easy, as tests are pulled from the slides, but going to class is mandatory and does not provide much substance.
Most boring person I've ever had to listen to. He knows his stuff don't get me wrong but doesn't know how to be engaging at all. You need to show up to his class to get attendance credit but can just sit in the back and do your other homework. All assignments and exams are ChatGPT-able to get an easy A. Very forgettable class but easy nevertheless.
Idk I thought he was really funny and he used to practice law so lots of interesting perspectives during his lectures. Group projects and homeworks were easy. Tests weren't the best, with lots of questions worded in a very subjective way and others being very lengthy. You're looking at anywhere between A- and B if you put in a decent effort.
makes lectures engaging and very funny professor; only need to use powerpoints and review video to do well in the class
Lyons is a pretty straight forward professor and makes a large lecture such as management/marketing somewhat interesting. Just read the textbook and slides to get all vocab necessary ahead of tests. Do the weekly readings and type out any answer to get a hundred for homework. Should get an A or A-
He has good lectures and asks a lot of legitimate and interesting questions about the society and business. Very doable to get an A if you just review the slides.
Weekly Hw Few Exams Group Projects Tests are on lockdown browsers. I didn't go to many classes; I used it as a study hall for the ones I did go to. Make sure to take the group projects seriously, they are weighted heavy.
This class was very easy. Management is a boring class, but his lectures are at least somewhat interesting. Take him if you can.
2-5 weekly homework assignments on PeerDoc (mainly graded on completion). Professor Lyons lectures in a monotone manner, rambles on into tangents that aren't relevant to the concepts, and loves to reiterate “etc.,etc.” Boring professor but definitely manageable to get an A in the class by going over the concepts in his slides before the exams.
This professor keeps the class entertaining and engaged. Attendance is mandatory, but it's worth it - just show up and you'll likely get an A. Unstuck AI was a great study tool alongside the provided lecture slides.
We had some interesting discussions in class, but Charles Lyons is disorganized and handles sensitive topics extremely unprofessionally. He admits to not being properly informed on social topics he covers, cracks jokes about people's rights, and makes assumptions about his students' beliefs. He didn't even prepare us for the exams.
Lyons was actually so funny if you really listened — usually out of pocket. He genuinely cared about what he taught and would get super passionate about random topics. Get ready to write a lot and do tons of group projects. If you can stay awake, you'll do well. You can kinda BS this class sometimes though. PS he never responds to emails
Super down-to-earth and the most interesting professor I have had at UGA. The only class I genuinely enjoyed going to this semester. He's not scared to speak his mind and talk about relevant worldly events, relating everything to the content in the class. Favorite professor at UGA. Go to class and pay attention, and you will enjoy yourself.
Prof. Lyons is a yapper, but his lectures are full of real-world insights and key takeaways. There was weekly HW (including questions on the Effective Executive book and 3 group assignments), 3 exams, and in class polls - all easy if you pay attention. Jeopardy reviews help a lot. I wish our class participated more - it would've been way more fun.
Lyons is awesome. Cares so much about teaching and interacting with everyone. He does a great job of keeping class intersting by bringing real world examples and stories into his lectures. If you get the chance to take him, take him.
This class was difficult because the tests themselves were conceptual and long. I don't know how everyone else in RMP seem to effortlessly get As, but for me the tests were kind of difficult, at least to get an A on. The lectures felt useless. I don't think he prepared us well enough for the these types of test questions, but that's just me.
This man gives the most entertaining lectures I've ever witnessed. He constantly wanders into tangents and personal anecdotes, but he really knows his stuff and they are eventually relevant. He can absolutely be persuaded to offer more extra credit or extend deadlines. I love this man so much, and his tests are easy if you review the slides.
Was skeptical about his class at first, but quickly grew to love the guy. So funny, and actually wants you to do well. The literal opposite of Pope, honestly. Take Lyons! Yes you have to study and it's not easy but the content is actually interesting to me as a biz minor, and I enjoyed this class. Tests are reasonable, HW is great, nice dude. TAKE!
Straightforward class; easy A if you study a day or two before for exams tho harest part about is class is the amount of hw and group work he gives out.
This class is annoying and he's a messy teacher, he takes attendance but its only like 5% of the grade. He makes the tests seem like they will be easy because they are online but you lowkey really need to study. Only 3 tests, no final and no drop test. SO MUCH BUSY WORK AND STUPID HW ASSIGNMENTS THAT DONT HELP YOU PREPARE FOR THE EXAMS.
Took him for the non-honors 3000 section, honestly great lecturer. Uses lots of memorable examples, cracks good jokes and has a fair grading system. Group projects are part of the class, not his fault. By far the best choice for MGMT3000 though. He doesn't teach a non honors section in spring 2026 but maybe next fall he will. 100% would take again.
Lyons is a super nice and funny guy, but almost all of his lectures could have been an email. Homework assignments can be annoying at times, but they're not difficult. He's super good at providing exam review resources, and if you go through those, you shouldn't have a problem getting the grade you want.
Professor Lyons is probably one of my favorite professors that I've taken. He is really funny, and every single one of his lectures is quite interesting. The tests aren't too bad if you study a bit before them. Really, if you go to class, you'll be totally fine. Great professor.
This class is kinda Nothing Burger but Lyons adds in a lot of current events and examples. I thought the tests were really easy and he will get rid of questions a lot of people miss. Very reasonable guy and lectures are really funny. Loves to tease students. Homework is annoying but very manageable.
Lying is awesome. MGMT300 is very straightforward and he doesn't take himself too seriously. Group projects were kind of a pain but I would zone out every class and then only study for one or two days before each test and get As.
