not good at all at presenting info. read the book yourself and just take the tests you'd be better off, and doesnt help much
He can't explain!!! Yet, he is nice. But i won't suggest anyone to take his class especially those who are not good at Accounting

nice guy, probably should've failed his class but he still passed me. doesn't like to fail his students, said he's only done it about 5 times and that it was well deserved. go to class and atleast try and you'll be fine

malgwi is difficult to understand no matter what - it has nothing to do with culture. hoqwever, he is possibly the most enthusiastic teacher ever, and he says things like, "the only problem you will have on the exam is deciding which problem to do first because they are all so appealing."
He's probably one of the most understanding, compassionate, and enthusiastic Prof at Bentley. He takes accounting and makes the best of it. Overall Gb 201 is a difficult class and hard to understand, but no Prof can guarantee full understanding. He does his best to explain simply, office hrs r great
He can be hard to understand and is very stict about following what the department says.. He is a great teacher in the aspect that he understands you and can reason. If you take him make sure he sees you in his office hours if you are struggling...THIS will make a BIG Diffrence
Charles Malgwi is a great professor. Those that try to tease him because he's African should go tease their own ignorance. Knows very well what he's talking about, very helpful and very positive attitude towards class. Definately recommended for Accounting.

He is very difficult to understand because of his accent. But he is an extremely nice man and can be very helpful. Accounting can be difficult for some to grasp, but he helps.

Although 201 is a tough class, Malgwi tries to keep it light and simplify. His accent is sort of hard to understand but he is definitely a nice guy. He wants you to do well. If you do anything outside of calss you can do well.

"Crispy" class. Hard class but so are the rest of the accounting classes. Nice guy and wants you to do well. Some people say his accent makes him hard to understand but i found it fine.
GB 202 is a very hard class, malgwi doesnt make it easier, makes up grading policies on the fly, is very strict about following policies. You could probably do better for 202

People told me he was easy - NOT! Hard grader - Makes up rules for prj - hands back tests/prj and says they are good when they aren't - hard to understand at first but then get used to the accent - tries to be helpful in the office but still can do better for a professor
Malgwi is a great guy. The subject is awful, but he makes the most if it. On top of that, he is one of the most kind and helpful professors at Bentley. Don't knock him, if you got a bad grade it was because you didn't try - I should have failed, but he wouldn't let me because I asked for help.
Worst teacher and class at Bentley. They try to cram a semesters worth of information in a half semester. It's hard to understand Professor Malgwi some times and that hurts when you have questions. Also, he tries to trick you on your quizes and exams...have to do a lot of individual studying for this class and professor.
Horrible teacher....can barely speak english and he doesn't teach you ANYTHING. Bassically have to learn everything on your own. Waste of time asking for help too. His tests are really difficult because you never learn anything. DON't TAKE HIM, take someone else even if they have a bad rating.

I have to say, Ive never worked harder for any other class. I literally spent days studying for tests. However though I didn't do to bad on them, this professor will blind side you in the end. He's horrible, take someone else. He's funny at times yes,but I'd rather have a professor that knows the material and can teach it well. AVOID!
If you care about doing well take someone else, cause he doesn't give a damn whether you fail. You would expect a professor to cut you some slack when HE knows you work hard in the class, but no, I would like to use explicit words right now but I don't think it would be nice. every comment below is true. work your ass off, he will tell you your 'going to do fine' when you meet him before exam, the exam has nothing to do with what you practiced, and you find yourself ****ed. avoid, and may god have mercy on your soul.
Ok so all you guys that are giving Malgwi a bad rep are lazy and worthless and should not be at Bentley anyways. This class is not that hard and Malgwi is the man so SUCK IT UP and stop complaining. If you can't get through this class, then you might as well start working at McDonalds now. Actually do the assignments and you will get a 3.7 cmon now
Extremely difficult. Average on first test for class was a 66%.When you ask questions in class, he doesn't listen AT ALL to your question and he eventually ends up confusing the class with his explanation. He rarely does problems on the board and when he does, he frequently makes mistakes.Avoid at all costs but 312 is a **** no matter who you take

Malgwi is a very nice guy. HOWEVER, what he teaches is not what comes on the exams and that is why my advice to you is not to take this professor. I worked very hard got a private tutor understood everything and got a 79.3% and was given a 2.3 in the end. Not worth it trust me.
Malgwi is a nice guy but a bad prof. Accounting was my favorite subj last yr and I was even thinking of majoring in it until I took his class. He is very smart but not good at getting his ideas across and screwed everyone over on the first exam by putting info that wasn't on the syllabus. Don't take him if you want a decent grade in this course.
BEST PROFESSOR EVER! get to know him, probably one of the smartest people around. he's not hard and does not try to trick you, you do have to read the material/do homework in order to do well, but definitely a nice guy. totally recommend him
Nice guy but TERRIBLE at teaching. Often confuses himself during class and makes many mistakes. This makes it extremely difficult to learn when he is poorly prepared and constantly correcting/contradicting himself. If you want to have to teach yourself but still pay top dollar for Bentley- this is the class you want.
Worst part of class is his awful BO. Doesnt believe in deoderant apparently. Does not convey his thoughts well or clearly to his students. It can be hard to understand him and he gets flustered very easily. He seems to doubt his own answers and makes mistakes in class. Its not good when your students have to correct you. Not recommended.

Ruins Bentley's reputation as a good accounting school. Worst professor I have ever had- graduate and undergraduate level...or high school even! Cant believe Bentley would employ someone so bad at teaching. I am completely turned off of accounting and am losing my faith in Bentley...DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS! Fair warning.
Horrible teacher. He doesn't explain concepts very well, is very difficult to understand, is not engaging at all, and doesn't seem to care at all about how the class is doing. Doesn't seem like a bad guy, but I'd never want him as a professor again unless he changes his teaching style.
Professor Malgwi is very friendly and funny. You can learn a lot in the class as I did, but you have to do the work yourself. He is not going to sit next to you and hold your hand and teach every single thing to you.
Prof Malgwi is a good man. He's hilarious with his accent and so nice to everyone but he's not a good teacher. No one understands him and he doesn't understand questions from students. If you get him, you'll be fine.. just read the book before class and do the work yourself because he doesn't help much. Funny dude though.

Do not take if you can avoid. This professor is hard to understand and confuses even himself at times. Very unhelpful and clear when answering questions. The tests compared to other professors were somewhat easier but you as a student have to completely learn the material basically on your own.
Useless. Any question asked was redirected to be asked to the course TA via email, which was not help when it came to actual problems. WORST TEACHER EVER.
He is a great guy, always willing to help you if you need it and is a pretty easy grader, his score doesn't do him a justice, however he is somewhat hard to understand sometimes.
Professor Malgwi is an extremely nice guy who would love to help out his students. He has an accent so it is hard to understand however he grades tests pretty easily if you do alittle work on your own you should easily get a 3.0 or above.

He's a very smart professor, unfortunately English is not his native language so for the most part your on your won learning the material. This is a "text book class." GO TO HIS OFFICE HOURS, hes very understanding about tests and will make sure you are rewarded if you put in the effort to see him and improve on where you made a mistake.
Recommend. Really nice professor. Ppl give him a hard time with reviews but it's all stupid like his accent&stuff. GB112&212 r taught almost identically by all professors so what u're gaining here is a supportive understanding professor who will push ur grade higher & help u out. Might sometimes confuse ur q's but answers can be inferred eventually
Malgwi is a good professor but there is a language barrier that takes some time to get used to. Very lenient when it comes to giving back points. His office hours are very useful; trust me, go to his office and you will do well in the class

Slow to post material or textbooks needed. Most students without textbooks for the first month as the syllabus had not been sent out in time despite having all summer to prepare it .
He has a slight accent which might be a dealbreaker for some students, but I was able to understand him and understand material the way he taught it. He really wants you to do well in the class, so you sometimes get points back on things. The same powerpoints are in every class, so there's not much you can do about that though.

Honestly can't say enough good things about this professor. Every bad review is based on his accent which is really not a problem whatsoever. Genuinely nice guy who wants all to succeed. Rarely did hw and never read. Tests always have highest averages over all sections, great with partial credit. 212 isn't easy but he's as good as it gets
Compared to the other professors, Malgwi is definitely one of the easier graders. He is also an interesting guy to listen to. Sometimes he is difficult to understand but the majority of the time its not that bad. No matter what GB-212 will be a difficult class to take regardless who your professor is.

Great professor, very helpful. Has the highest averages across the board. He asks for feedback early so if you have issues with his teaching style he can change things up a bit. His accent was no issue whatsoever. Would definitely take again.

He acts like he cares about your grade, but does not give students the chance to prove themselves. Does not provide feedback and doesnt really know the subject that well. Dont even consider taking him.
He only reads off the power point, which we are supposed to do before class anyways. He had a hard time answering peoples questions so class would not be productive. I went to office hours a lot, but he either did not help or was a no show. I got a new prof for GB 212 and has already made a good difference.
Never takes attendence, and one of the only 112 professors to allow laptops. The actual class is pretty boring, and there are a lot of long awkward silences because he waits for responses to rhetorical questions. A little bit hard to understand, but he's a really nice guy. You will probably end up teaching yourself most of the material
Considering I never took a business course before Bentley, i came in unaware of how the class would go. Prof Malgwi just teaches off PowerPoint and didn't offer much help in office hours. However, he's always a cheerful, funny man.
If you ask anyone who has Malgwi, they will say that he's really nice, but a pretty terrible teacher. He goes through the material way too slowly. In a class that has set exams and little flexibility, there is never time to do catch up, which makes it hard b/c it often takes him 2 classes to get through one powerpoint. Almost impossible to get points back on tests or projects. Never answers questions fully, and does not respond to emails ever. Students required to teach themselves 100% of the material, because he gets nothing done in class.
No extra credit - Can't really understand him well - Great guy, but not someone I would recommend. If its him vs. someone horrible, choose him, class is doable.

I took Prof. Malgwi's class for both GB 112 and GB 212. He is a very caring teacher and extremely smart. It is difficult material and sometimes he isn't the best at explaining. But overall, a fair grader compared to other 112 and 212 professors and he knows what hes talking about.
Very tough grader especially on the course project and lectures aren't that helpful. Doesn't do many practice problems in class which wasn't helpful. HAS A VERY STRONG ACCENT so hard to understand.
Professor Malgwi is the nicest guy you'll meet, but his lectures are very dry. He lets you have your laptop in class so its easy to get distracted. He is slow on the lectures so we don't usually go over homework or make it through the powerpoint. His tests aren't bad and he is very approachable if you have questions or need help.
The class sucks. Karen Osterheld (the director of the course) has made it nearly impossible to do better than a 3.3. From what I have heard there are no great professors and it is simply a flawed class. Malgwi does not make it any harder than it has to be but he also does not teach much. Really boring lectures but he also does a really good job of conveying the information. The class is really easy if you just show up and do the practice problems. He does a good job explaining something and doing practice problems on the board if you do not get a concept. Easy A if you show up, participate, and do the HW. Tests are not bad either.
Professor Malgwi takes a notoriously hated class and makes it more enjoyable. By viewing the powerpoints and doing all homeworks and classworks, you can easily do well (3.3 or above) in Professor Malgwi's class. He is always open to discuss course content, grading, etc. He's also the nicest man you'll ever meet! Must take!
GB310 is a tough class but Prof Malgwi is a good person to have it with. There are standard assignments but he grades them fairly and if you ask him question he will provide good feedback. His tests are fair, he takes material right from the lectures, and had a slight curve. Pretty boring lecture, but that's the class.

Professor Malgwi deserves a 5.0 rating. I sometimes reach out to him right after class when his office hour is, and he always response my questions with genuine answers from his profound accounting knowledge and life experience. His lecture covers important point swell and is easy to understand.
Prof. Malgwi is pretty good, but can be confusing at times. He talks through problems instead of writing them down, so that can be challenging if you learn better visually. He is always excited for class and passionate about teaching. If anything, use his office hours to review shaky concepts because they build off of earlier lessons.
Runs through material slowly and paced so everyone understands (GB's are normally dry topics, sometimes it's hard for students to be interested). Very helpful with office hours and was thrilled when I came. Highly recommend Professor Malgwi for any GB class. Also has a cool Nigerian accent.

Hard to understand at times
Professor Malgwi is a nice guy, but boy oh boy, his teaching style does not work for me. He prefers to talk through problems rather than doing them visually. Some people do really like him but I very much struggled through his class. If you are good at teaching yourself class material, you'll be fine.
very dry class, he mostly reads from the slides. Not the best prof for this class but not the worst as long as you do the readings and homework you shouldn't do too bad on the exam.
