this class is really hard you need a miracle to get an A. He wants to confuse you so you can make a good grade, tests are really hard and have trick questions
Mr Miller rules! best business law professor you will ever have.
Great prof. A lot of material covered in only 3 tests. Has pop quizzes at beginning of class over previous lecture and material to be discussed that day, but are only bonus, so they cant hurt your average.Tricky exams, but if you know the material 100% not hard to get an A or B. Book is an article packet he put together, so not an expensive book.A+
hard class that could be made interesting but isn't. talks on and on and on. very boring, not interactive most of the time. sometimes he calls on people randomly and asks questions. tests are hard and have some very tricky questions. i failed but will have to take him again unfortunately since he's the only one teaching this class.
Do NOT take this professor. He only has 2 exams plus a final. His exams are very tricky!!! He gives random quizzes as extra credit points and at the end of the semester he adds up the total points you scored right divided by the total points possible out of whatever many quizzes he gives. the quizzes are just as tricky as the tests...
OMG; this is probaly one of the most difficult classes you will ever take! He grades only by tests, and he gave only 3, 20-30 questions. So if you mess up one your screwed. Tests are very difficult, my study group reviewed every week the material and did 2-3 4 hour study sessions before test, still failed. He does curve though. last 1 was 18 points
3 tests. 6 quizzes but his tests are really hard. He doesnot gives review so you have to study the whole 12 chapters every test.
so long as you attend class, pay attention, and take quizzes, you can make an easy B in the class. He is very accessible, the quizzes he gives help the grade and he also gives very generous curves for tests.
attend class, pay attention, and be there for the pop quizzes you can make an easy B in the class. He is very accessible, the quizzes he gives help the final grade and he also gives very generous curves for tests.he realized that the content per test was high - because this is the structure he uses for summer class, said he might change it next sem
Class not that bad. You must attend lecture to get a good grade. He does trick up the questions so read them carefully. On the combo class he curves grad students higher than undergrad which is not fair.
Took I and II and got an A in both. Tests are tricky - but know the material you will catch it. Make sure you attend for quizes (study prior class lecture) that can raise you a letter grade. Take good notes from lecture and know them well. Read book. He is very helpful so visit him in his office to clarify anything you do not understand.
Horrible teacher, the tests are very hard with so much material in them that it is overwhelming.
Miller doesn't know quite how hard his class can be. The tests have tricky questions (dare I say trick Q's) which require close to mastery level to answer at times; he makes you earn your grade. I believe his coverage of the material can be patchy b/w his sections. Study hard and enjoy the curve. Sociable 1 on 1.
Great professor if you're not afraid to earn your grade. He is approachable and funny too. I got an A in Blaw I without even taking notes and I am taking him now for Blaw II. Just read all the material and underline important topics, then review an hour or two before class. The in-class quizzes help your grade if you keep up with the reading!
You only have 3 test & about 6-8 extra credit quizzes which are very helpful. The test are very tricky, so you have to really pay attention in class! I recommend going to EVERY class & record his classes bc he sometimes talks fast & everything he lectures on will definitely be on his test! Interesting class & great professor!
Good professor over all. His tests are tricky and hard but he's good at giving curves. If you want an A in this class you'll definitely have to work for it.
Mr Miller is a great teacher, his tests are hard but if you take good notes and attend class regularly you should do fine. He has a packet for the textbook so you can save some money on that book at least. If you have problems/questions he is willing to help. Quizzes-as long as you read the material before class and when he sends alert emails.
Tests are difficult but fair. Go to class, take notes, and stay up on the reading and you will be fine.
Great Professor. You must attend class if you want to get A's on his tests (unless you have prior knowledge of law). Even so, there will be material and situational based questions that he specifically mentions in lecture. Very knowledgeable and approachable as well. Two thumbs up.
Great professor. I was worried about taking BLAW at first, but I really did enjoy this class. Be sure to attend all classes and you should do fine on the tests which he curves on.
attendance is not mandatory, but he gives random quizzes for attendance. good professor
He is intimidating at first. He teaches straight from his powerpoints. He calls on people randomly to answer questions. Book is necessary, read chapters before class. He has pop quizzes. Tests are challenging but if you know the material you will do fine. I would recommend him to anybody. Great professor.
He is friendly and a little funny. I recomend bringing a recorder to class. If you read the material and go to class it is very easy. There are no trick questions on the tests you just have to know the material. Great teacher! Would take him again. Dowdy is an easy class but I still prefer Miller.
Four M/C tests worth 90% of your grade and the final is not comprehensive. Attendance is not mandatory but 10% of your grade comes from pop quizzes or class attendance. Very helpful if you need to ask questions outside of class. The class is not as easy as Turner's but I would recommend taking him.
THIS IS NOT A BLOW OFF CLASS! However, it is super interesting and Mr. Miller provides lots of great examples and stories along with lecture material. You MUST pay attention in class and take notes. The tests are difficult. They are not tricky, but they are detailed. Great prof, really knows his stuff.
This professor does not teach with Power Points & does NOT give test reviews. He gives good examples in class and attendance is not required but since he doesn't use PP or reviews you are obligated to go. Chapters are super long and tests cover about 6 chapters.Book costs about three hundred AVOID HIM as much as possible. Hard class!!!
avoid him at all cost. He is a terrible teacher. test cover about 6 chapters. Test are very tricky. Go to class for the random quizzes.
Avoid this teacher. his test are hard and very confusing. No review is given and he does not post grades online. I do not reccomend.
Record lectures! Listen to them before the exam. Test can be badly written, but very easy and simple. Just kind of depends.
Nice and knowledgeable professor, but his tests are tricky.
try to avoid. test are confusing. if you have questions he will meet you during office hours. he does give pop quiz extra credit. I will never take this professor again
His lectures were delivered with humor and actually made them effective. considering that his class is pretty large he takes time to help students out during office hours. You gotta read the text to pass plus there are also study guides given at end of each week to help for test study. I'll recommend for friends.
Good prof w lots of real-world experience. Makes it clear and entertaining. Show up, pay attention; he teaches everything he tests on. However, tests are detail-oriented word problems, eg: need to interpret situation and know which statute of limitations, labor laws, etc apply to it to get right answer. Read questions carefully, and you'll do ok.
Tests were a little bit tough but his class overall is simple. Read the chapters and understand the terms on his test review and you should make a decent grade on the exams. Plus he gave us curves on the exam. He is there for you if need be; don't be afraid to take this class/professor.
The tests are confusing. Law already has the exceptions that you have to remember, and on top of this the exams have typos sometimes and you may have to reread questions to understand what you are being asked. The lectures are great and he is entertaining...a bit sarcastic but don't take it personally. He is a good professor, make sure you read.
needs material for students. if you learn from studying power points do not take him bcuz. His lectures are him talking about the book which sucks. he expects you to read the whole chapter. the test cover 5-6 chapters which is about over 100 terms and since all he does is talk, note taking is hard. test are really tough. be ready to read A LOT.
His exams are not hard. Go to class pay attention, skim the text book. Record the class if you need to, definitely take notes. Definitions are applied into a contextual scenario in multiple choice format with obvious wrong answers to help eliminate some options, if you paid attention in class. Solid professor, nice man, you'll learn a lot from.
Great teacher. Gives good examples that help with learning the information and key terms. He's very welcoming about coming to his office to ask questions and very helpful if you have any question. Gives curves.
Miller has a great way of lecturing, always rememberable. He does give pop quizzes, but if you attend class, you will do fine. Tests are tough, but you can get a good grade if you put effort into studying (a lot). i recommend going to his office hours before the tests, he gives you a lot of info that will be on it. tough but great class.
Definitely a good professor. He knows about materials. Yes, you have to study. Why? Because its about law. At the end, you will find yourself with lots of useful knowledge on yourself. Couldn't pass the first test, but eventually I got good grades(As mostly). Don't just mug-up his reviews, try to apply them in real world- that' how I did. Helpful.
The class is really interesting, you are actually learn a lot from this class and could apply it to real-world. No power point, lecturing from the textbook. Take him if you wanna learn about blaw. Not an easy class, you actually have to read a lo and study a lot. ps. he curved a lot based on average of the test. pop quizzes and 4 exams.
Professor Miller is great! Hard to know what to expect on grading, but feel he is fair. Lectures were interesting most the time. Participate and come to class you'll be fine. Light on the homework.
Professor Miller is awesome! His lectures are very interesting and you will learn. There are 4 exams non comprehensive and pop quizzes. Get ready to read! You will learn a lot of interesting things. This class requires a lot of studying and ready so get ready to work! Overall, very nice professor. Would take him again!
Must study for test! Test are usually 40 questions; however there are usually 200 definitions and about 5 cases to know per test. Which makes it difficult. He gives a pop quiz every time attendance in class gets low. Sit in the front of the class and stop by his office the more he knows you the better he will remember you when adding grades
By far, on of the best professors I had, taking him again for Inter. BLAW. His lectures are interesting, he gives real life examples that he uses on his exams. Be ready to read read and read a lot. 4 exams, 4 to 6 pop quizzes, no homework, no papers, no group projects, again you just have to read read read. Overall, excellent professor. Take him.
Professor Miller was great!! I took him during a 5 week period but he was easily the best professor I've ever had in college! The class isn't that hard it's just a lot of reading. His lectures are great and he relates it to your everyday lives. I would highly recommend taking him!
You will need to read! His study guides don't have everything that is on the test so some is on the test some isn't. Be sure to record lectures if allows. Quizzes will be fine if you actually pay attention to what he says and the additional resources he post.
Lectures are interesting. Recommend going to class and taking notes b/c the examples he uses in lectures tend to show up on the test and you get extra points for showing up. You don't need to read the book word for word, just know ALL the vocab and know everything on his study guide. I got A's on all the tests by doing this. Would take again.
Don't even know what to study for his exams, you read the book you fail the exam, you study the terms you still end up failing. Very nice professor and has interesting lectures but I do not feel like he prepares you well for the exams. At least I can say I learn in his class.
No quizzes this semester, only tests. People who have difficulty with tests generally don't attend class. Curves every test and gives you bonus points for showing up. He gives good real life application examples and stories to help clarify the info.
This class is not hard, there is just so much material covered. He does what he can, making it very interesting, using real life examples and has a great sense of humor. Make sure you're paying attention, he calls on random students. YOU NEED THE BOOK! Attend class, he takes role and you get points for being there. He also curves the tests.
Book is absolutely necessary. Lectures are important too because he tells you what to omit while studying from the book. The hardest part is the amount of content, but besides that the class isn't rigorous. No essays, just multiple choice tests.
I've taken Dr. Miller twice now. He's a great professor and I really enjoy taking his classes. That being said, he's not easy. Expect to read, study, and work for the grade you want. He gives you all the material you just have to do it. He's constantly putting things on BB for you to read/watch, and he expects you to read 3 - 5 chapters a week.
Took for international business, the information he provides is interesting, attempts to use current situations in order to keep the content current. Tests are heavy with key terms (he provides key terms for you to study). Book for this semester was used at the very end. We did have essays this spring semester. Study before class to pass quizzes!
amazing professor absolutely loved him!! he's been helping me with my law school prep for next year. really cares about students. exams were straight forward and not hard. I recorded the lectures since he doesn't use a textbook. Be prepared for every class because the pop quizzes will get you (could have made an A if not for that). best prof here
He's a very good professor. If you take him, however, make sure you go to class and study the notes before getting there. He likes to give pop quizzes at the beginning of class. The exams are a lot of key terms - I would suggest recording the lectures. Two low quiz grades are what affected my final grade.
Lots of material but amazing professor. Attending class is a must for an A! He clearly explains every topic, take good notes and you might not need to read the book. He gives a list of all the material that will be on the test. He gives a lot of extra credit opportunities via pop quizzes so stay on top of material and go to class! Would take again!
Decent overall, and funny at times. Attendance is 'optional', but the quizzes are random and if you miss a few it will negatively impact you, so attendance in reality is fairly mandatory. Aside from that, tests are reasonable. Gives out key terms and his lectures are decent. Overall? Nice guy, worth taking. I got a B with minimal effort.
I don't understand these ratings. Do NOT take prof miller. His Key term reviews for test are mostly useless and don't appear on the tests. He doesn't prepare you for tests. He curves, but most people fail anyway. The biggest issue is his tests are extremely tricky, and the useless key terms do not prepare you for them in any way imaginable. AVOID.
Don't take him! His reviews are just key terms (insane amount) that you have to learn but most of them don't even appear on the test! He gives a curve but most people still fail. Reviews are useless and tests are tricky. 3 tests and 1 exam that is not cumulative. Extra points for attendance (quizzes). He writes like a 2-year-old. Do not recommend.
I will probably end up with a B in the class due to one bad test grade, but he has been one of the most caring professors I have had at UTA. Attendance is not taken, but if you go to class and pay attention you will better understand the material. He encourages to meet with him and has been understanding to me as an athlete. I will take him again!
There are 4 exams, he uses a curve and gives a few extra credit opportunities. To pass all you have to do is read the book, study the key terms, and attend the lectures. There are a lot of key terms but he posts them early on for you to study as you go along. All the people complaining are probably just lazy because I would study the day before.
By far my favorite professor! He really cares about his students and he is easy to reach. He makes the class interesting and gives you key terms to study. With this being said you do have to read a lot and this isn't a class where you can put minimal effort to make an A.
This is purely an attempt to rationalize the 3.7 rating he currently has to a more appropriate score, preferably -1. His humor does not make up for his lack of ability to operate the course, much less teach the course. If he could write complete thoughts, he'd get A 2. I never realized clear grading criteria was something not to expect.
Professor Miller is an amazing professor. He makes classes entertaining and gives real world examples to relate to the material. There are a lot of assignments, but they are not too difficult. The test reviews are really long lists of key terms. Although, if you go to class and do the assignments you'll do fine without them. Gives extra credit
Teaches a subject that's hard for me to learn, but I still escaped with a solid B. Gives great lectures and lets you skip the final if you do well early on. Gives large curves (10+ points). The subject is hard, but he teaches it well. attend every class you can (sometimes you gives you bonus points for attending). Pay attention and you're fine.
Prof. Miller is great, and his lectures are superb. The class is semi-difficult, but mainly due to limited grading criteria, and a lot of reading/memorizing. Make sure you buy the book for this class - he cracks it open right away and goes through what you need to know and what you don't. Overall, Miller is a great choice for this class!
Miller is a hilarious and knowledgeable person who has expertise in law himself. His class was one of the most interesting classes I have taken where I will actually use what i learned since it is very helpful. That being said, you need to study key terms and be prepared to work for a good grade. This is no blow off. He has also pop quizzes.
His is lecture heavy and his tests are from the lecture so do not miss it! his grading criteria is very limited so it does increase the overall difficulty of class. his lectures are interesting and worth going for! be prepared to read a lot and understand the concept because the test will be application based- examples will be given in lectures
I actually took him for BLAW 5332. He's a very good lecturer, and has many witty comments interspersed in his lectures. His format is solid lecture. I had 2 midterms and 1 final and a lot of in-class pop-quizzes and a few take-home essays. The essays weren't research papers. Miller cares about his students and make himself available. READ READ!
I enjoyed this class with professor Miller. You will need a book, but is not expensive AT ALL (I rented it for $4). Usually there was always a quiz at the beginning of class based from last class lecture or homework, so make sure to take notes. Tests are based from those quizzes and key terms he will provide for you to study. Overall, easy class.
Professor Miller's class is not a hard one. Just make sure you pay attention in lecture and you should be good to go. His test material comes straight from what he talks about in class and his quizzes that aren't for a grade.
Super lecture based. Does not use PowerPoint which was a hindrance to me only listening to his voice. Would recommend recording lectures and reading material before class. Tests are not book based. Many equations and real world scenarios. Take vigorous notes and attend every lecture if you can help it.
MR. M: engaging lecturer w/ no PowerPoint; uses good examples; knowledgable; nice guy. Also, very disorganized; poor at responding to emails; TONS of typos on exams/quizzes; incorrectly graded us a few times. YOU: show up to class; record the lectures; take clear notes; study early; ask questions. Likable guy, but he can be stressful!
He is very knowledgeable with the subject. MANY TYPOS ON TESTS BEWARE! If you show up to class, listen, and fill out his "Key terms" sheet, you'll do fine.
Miller lectures very fast so be prepared to take notes. His tests are based on the lectures, so don't miss class! Tests are not difficult if you review your notes and follow his study guides. You will need to put in memorization effort but an A is easy enough to achieve.
this prof is okay. but in all respects I wished he done quiz grades and assignment grades. test grades are worth 25% each to make up the grand total of 100%. The only thing I wished he improved if he provided assignments as well as have more office hours cause this class is brutal. lots to memorize. I had to drop because I struggled. :(
I enjoyed taking this class with Professor Miller. He cares about his students and is great at teaching material. I have learned a lot of valuable information that will benefit me in my career.
Exam are based on pop quizzes (quiz for extra credit only). If you can catch up his lecture in class, you can take him, otherwise, don't because he went fast. Sit in the front will helps. A lot of scenarios questions on exam. Do curves when needed. Attendant is not requires but if you miss so many, you won't pass.
record his lecture. it will help a lot. just go home and take notes with the help of the book.
Read the book, go to class, and take notes, recording the lecture might help you out a bit more, for the exams just study the notes you took during lecture and you do fine. He is knowledge and knows his material quite well, if you are ever confused just ask him a question and he will help you out. Counts final twice if higher then lowest exam score
Best prof, You will learn A LOT! attendance is not mandatory but, you loose everything is you miss lecture! 10 min easy quiz every week. Exams are based strictly on what was covered. Review is clear about key terms you need to know. I recommend recording lectures. Also if you have an A before the final, you are exempt. He curves your final grade.
If I could give him a 0 I would. Email typos, exam typos, last minute changes to class times, very unprofessional email styles, and disrespectful to name a few things. IF there is literally any other professor option then take the other professor.
Misspelled everything!! So many typos I couldn't understand anything he was telling us. Not to mention he changed the syllabus schedule so frequently it was challenging to understand what was happening when. A massive train wreck that was a waste of time.
the hardest course I have EVER taken. You have 4 tests at 25% each, no other grades. NO extra credit, does NOT respond to emails asking for help. Memorizing definitions doesnt help for his key terms, 21 pages of defined terms for test. I tried everything. If its online DONT TAKE HIM, his audio & connection NEVER works. youre on your own!!!
Wasn't very accommodating with COVID. Only grades are tests. His lectures are very lengthy. If it's between this class and another teacher that has an even worse description then choose him. He isn't a terrible teacher just not very empathetic and can be confusing also. He records his lessons in case you don't make it. NO EXTRA CREDIT.
Tests are your only grade. He is not the kind of professor who cares about his students, told his students to drop if they weren't happy about their grade. Taking him during COVID, exams are IN PERSON. TEXTBOOK HEAVY, my advice is, read the textbook, form online study groups, and review the quizzes he provides 9/10 they will be on the exam.
He calls you out in his class, be prepared to respond. Gives key terms for tests and has practice quizzes. All the grades will be from tests, no HWs. If you like listening to lectures and take notes and study for tests, then you'll get good grades. I gathered up with friends online and formed a study group, which really helped. He curved the tests.
Grades are only based off of 4 tests only. He combined two different sections into one and sent the same announcements to both and made things very confusing. Not very considerate of his students considering taking this class during covid was awful. Very difficult to reach through email.
DO NOT TAKE HIS CLASS I BEG OF YOU! Just took his first test and got a really bad grade! he did not give us any sort of practise, lied on having this test ONLY multiple choice. Questions which are confusing as hell, fill in the blanks as if he expects you to know the whole chapter in your mind! DOES NOT CARE IF YOU HAVE A POWER OUTAGE!!!
Don't take him, super uncooperative, doesn't reply, lots of typos in tests, and a big cap.
he does not give any homework so all of our grade's are just based on tests which make it difficult to have a good grade, also he does not make power-points or anything so that makes it difficult to take notes
I'm not sure why there are so many low ratings for Professor Miller but I thought he was amazing. If you attend the lectures, take notes, and use his study guide as a reference, you will do well in his class! He truly cares about his students and wants you to excel. Make sure you read, take notes, and attend every class and it will be an easy A!
Nope, Just nope. Do not take this class! He is a good professor and has great knowledge, but he expects us to be VERY knowledgeable like him as if we are ALL Law majors. You only get 4 tests worth 25 percent each! so no extra marks to boost up your grade. Wouldn't recommend him tbh, there are other GREAT professors worth your money.
He aight but his lectures ain't. This class was like dragging your body through Sahara desert.
Online, this guy was a joke. Terrible communication with students. He is an innocent guy and a nice guy and all. But that's it. Exams were spelled wrong so made understanding the question hard.
don't take him. trust me
The professor was not use to the whole online class system but the class in general was interesting. Test were heavy and are sometimes tricky. He gives a study guide which is helpful, the quizzes are also in the test so there are some easy points. YOU MUST CREATE A STUDY GROUP. I recommend filling the study guide and reading it w the study group.
He isn't really a bad professor. The class is graded off of 4 tests and that is it. He gives a pretty detailed list of Key Terms before every test. However, the spelling errors on the test are difficult and the wording is difficult. I would highly recommend being in a study group for this class if you take it. He gives very few EC opportunities.
He has pretty good lectures and very detailed study guides which are really helpful to the test. This isn't an easy class regardless of who you take so he's pretty good if you consider that. His exam can be annoying with typos but really its not that bad if you know your stuff. Hard to get an A but bearable enough to get a B. Study the key terms.
I wish the University offered the same class with a different professor because he is not the one. He is not available for students and he doesn't care about his students. His lectures are okay though.
oh boy. he needs to improve his tech skills. He was sometimes snarky with us when we asked him questions. lots of typos in tests. Attend lectures or do study sessions. He was accessible to us through email and teams. If I was forced to take his class again I would not mind but would not be my first choice. He is very knowledgeable in his field.
Did I have a good time In professor Miller's Class? YES 100X yes I loved this class, Is he a good professor? NO, he is the worst professor I have ever had, he doesn't prepare his exams until immediately before the class, I know this because he is correcting his own typos, and stupid mistakes on the exams in the middle of when we are taking it.
His exams are impossible to study for, you can be an expert in almost everything that is taught and spend 30+ hours studying but his ridiculous questions and answer choices on his tests are made in a way that almost nobody could possibly pass. He "requires" that we read a stupid book that has nothing to do with law and is more of a business book
The only BLAW prof this semester who didnt have open note tests. Monotone voice. Gave people with over a 90% exemption from the exam which is stupid because only like 3 people in the class have a grade that high. Typos in tests and emails. No homework so very easy to get a bad grade in this class. dont take him.
Doesn't give homework, quizzes are for extra points and not for actual grades. Lazy teacher, only skims through textbook in class. Posts review with typos, doesn't make sense, in a paragraph form. Expects you to know vocab from book which consists of hundreds of pages of material. Only grades are exam grades. Other classes have open note exams
Nice guy, not a great teacher. Grades are only based on 3 test, and 1 final. There is no homework or even a lecture guide so it makes it almost impossible to study for tests. There is no curve on the final or final grade despite class averages on exams being below failing. Would not recommend to anyone, truly comes down to lazy teaching.
Professor Miller made the class interesting, he is a funny guy which keeps you engaged during class. Graded by 4 exams with the opportunity to be omitted from the final if you score well enough in the first 3. Also gives extra credit through pop quizzes (not graded, just for EXTRA credit).
People complain about his tests. If you read the material and go over the quizzes, youll pass! I made an A being a full time working mom. Only procrastinators will fail. The only tough grade was the group project hes picky on. Just follow this recommendations!
He lectures only what's on the test. BLAW is a hard class, but he made the concepts way easier to understand by applying it to the real world and by using his own experiences. Attendance isn't mandatory, but if you show up, you're likely to be blessed with an extra credit quiz, which he gives a lot of.
Prof. Miller has some of the funnest lectures I've ever had. He provides real-world experience and stories to keep the lessons engaging. He also ABSOLUTELY has reviews for each exam and like his lectures goes over what is on the exam Attendance isn't mandatory but extra credit is abundant in pop quizzes. Exams can be made up if MISSED w/out excuse
REALLY HARD EXAMS AND VERY PICKY TYPE QUESTIONS.
Went twice and never went again . He skims the textbook and just talks. There is no lecture guide or anything and cold calls in class.
Pay attention in class record lectures if possible
Nice guy but one of the worst professors I've ever had. No homework and no lecture notes or guides. If you aren't a business law person or an audible learner you will get a low grade. The class average was below failing at all times and would not put in grades until after the drop period so you wouldn't know your grades at all.
The course itself is a difficult course and Miller seemed to teach the course exactly how it should be taught. It is critical you go to lectures (even though theres no attendance). He has a very good sense of humor that went over the heads of students. Other students complained about him, but THAT IS BECAUSE THEY DID NOT STUDY/ OR GO TO LECTURE!!!!
Reads the textbook to the class and rambles often. His tests consist of "none of the above" options which are frustrating, and tests often have typos. Once you get the hang of the test format, the class isn't horrible, but you'll likely be too late to make your grade better. 4 tests, only 3 if you have an A in the class & he exempts you. No HW.
This course is not very difficult there is just a lot of subject matter and vocab to cover. Professor Miller does a great job at explaining the content and provides real life examples which I find helps a lot. He does give out random pop quizzes worth extra credit so it's worth coming to class. Also recording the lectures helps a lot! 4 exams no hw
Professor Miller is a cool person, but he acts like we are all law students. You will study 200 words with just 15 of them being on the test. Other portion is math that he barley teaches. This is really a teach yourself class with you having to define the words yourself. Imagine studying these 200 words for weeks just for 15 of them to be on test.
Prof Miller seemed like he could be a great professor. However, he makes us read so much from the book, "suggests" we should learn many vocabulary words. We only use about 20/200 vocabulary words that are on the test. A lot of reading, you do not want to miss a lecture.
Please use caution in this class. Prof. Miller seems like a nice person, however, his tests can be very tricky. He will make you laugh but don't let that fool you. Even though I come to class and read the book ...I am borderline with making a C in the class due to the way he tests learning.
Professor Miller is a super entertaining lecturer. If you stay on top of reading and attending class you will do just fine! I recommend recording audio and listening to it later when you are studying. My advice: look up key terms you do not understand, study the practice quizzes and engage in class.
Sorry but no !!!!!
Worst proffes
Worst professor at UTA. Like seriously sorry but no!!!!!
Advice, don't let his test review fool you. Yes, great way to know what his teaching but not everything is on the exam. Lack of grading which makes the exams your grade. Lots and lots of reading, if I want to give advice would be to attended lecture, review what you learn that day and if you can RECORD what he says.
He got great stories, but if English is not your first language, I would most definitely NOT recommend taking him, his lectures consist of him reading the book and rambling throughout the lectures. If you make yourself too noticeable, HE WILL CALL ON YOU TO ANSWER QUESTIONS. The anxiety I felt every time I walk in that class is HIGH!
Only 4 exams in the class, no extra credit, does not help students if they are failing. Very difficult class.
Honestly IDK whos idea it was for 3 exams as the only grades, but do your best to find a different professor. 3 Exams with exam reviews that are honestly useless. If you want a A in the class simply move on theres no hope
Honestly he wasn't as bad as the reviews make it out to be. Yeah it's a lot of reading (it is a law class) and theres only 4 exams but if you really just try a little you will pass. I had a D after the first 2 exams, I actually studied his key terms he gives out for the last 2 exams and got an A in both exams. Also he is retiring !
Good riddance having this guy retire. 4 tests that count as your entire grade, doesn't help students out at all if they're in a tough position. My favorite part is how he emphasizes the importance of sending "professional" emails, then responds with something like "Ok". Hope his replacement isn't 80 years old & actually cares about students.
He's retiring! But we had four tests, he was probably the most likable and helpful out of the 2 other professors, negotiable when it comes to grades, read the textbook and ask out-of-the-ordinary questions when it comes to any law class in general. Your test questions will be based off of their previous cases
The professor's retirement made this class a mixed bag. 4 tough tests made up the entire grade, but he could be fair if you engaged. Unstuck AI was a lifesaver for prepping.
Pretty straightforward class that requires you to keep up with it. While some of the material could be a bit dull at times, Mr. Miller always has a colorful and useful experience to help students better grasp the key concepts. He's also very funny and approachable.
