I don't like his style. He talks bad about his students. He writes everything on the board, but the tests are so different than the homework, it's hard to keep up. He moves too quickly on the board. He never asks if there are questions from the test or homework. I wouldn't recommend him at all.

Talks way too fast and writes notes way too fast. Funny but too much of a smart alec. Tests are hard.

Mooney shouldn't be teaching college students. He treats them like junior high kids. He moves too quickly on the board. Homework is on MathXL which helps you get through the HW, but the tests are way different than the homework. I got A's in all my other classes by barely squeaked by with a D. His class was a huge waste of time. Avoid his class.

This professor is very condescending and downright RUDE! I asked for clarification on something and he said in front of the whole class, "You didn't get that last time?". I said "OBVIOUSLY not". Definitely unhelpful and has major chip-on-his shoulder ISSUES!

the class was easy, but don't waste your money on the book. he's a horrible teacher and is obnoxious in class. if you miss more than 7 days you get a letter grade deducted from your final grade. wouldnt recommend him if you dont already know the material.

This is the worst class I have ever taken!The material is really easy but he grades really weird and everything is online. Even if u have the problem right he will find a way for it to be wrong.u can sleep or listen to his lectures, dont do anything else bc he will fail u. if u take this class be prepared to be treated like a middle schooler.

Not good at all. He is boring, dull, and seems more interested in making students feel like idiots rather than actually teaching them. If it's counted wrong, and you think you're right, don't bother explaining, it's gonna stay "wrong." All assignments are online. Don't bother buying the book, it will collect dust on your shelf.

The class overall was pretty easy. He gives good notes and explains things well overall. The final on the other hand was extremely difficult and nothing like the semester tests. I had a 96 going into the final and made an 81 in the class.

He is the worst teacher ever. He thinks he is better than everyone. He does not allow students to really be able to ask question without being a smart butt back and act like they are stupid. He has all his work online and does not let you have chance to fix stuff if the internet goes out. DO NOT TAKE THIS MAN!

I am currently in this guy's class and he is TERRIBLE! He won't allow note taking, he uses notes online, and never leaves his seat. He makes dumb comments all day and seems to think everyone is stupid. I think the few nice comments on here were probably written by him! I have no idea why he is still employed and think he gives KSU a bad name!

The teacher's test are extremely hard. He gave us little encouragement on the test and stated "I already know I'm going to wipe half of you all out of my class with this first test." MOST of the homework assigned, does not prepare you for his test. You have a chance to score over a 100 on his test, but will be lucky to get a 60. AVOID if possible.

I'll be honest math is not my greatest subject. Personally, I do much better with a teacher who is willing to do their job and actually wants to be there. Most days consisted of random, cynical lectures about the entire world. I truly regret taking this class and have very little respect for the man.

Moves very quickly and doesn't like to stop for clarification. Teaches math like he's reminding you of what you already know instead of teaching like it's new information. Tests do not resemble homework or lecture examples. I only took him b/c all other math classes were full. Dropped to save my 4.0. Avoid at all cost.

While his tests are difficult, he allows the use of a cheat sheet. I wouldn't recommend this professor if you don't already have a decent working knowledge of algebra.

I hada 98 going into the final and made a B in the class because the final was nothing at all like the other work we'd done. This class made me loose my 4.0, don't take him if only for the final.

Make sure you do all of your homework (go to the math lab to check your solutions) it is a big part of your grade.He goes through the notes way too quickly and is VERY condescending. If someone asks him a question he acts annoyed and acts as if they should already know the answer.If you can avoid taking him I definitely would.

Asolute worst teacher...in the world! He's arrogant but ignorant at the same time. He stopped collecting homework (which was 1/3 of the overall avg) halfway through the semester and does not give partial credit. Don't take him, if not for his terrible teaching then for his poor attitude and condescending nature towards students. He won't help you, he'll treat you like he's far superior to anything you know and he'll take off meaningless points on homework which are a huge part of your grade.

I loathe this man. He is disrespectful to students when they ask questions and does not care at all about helping them, even if they are willing to work. He goes on long rants about the superiority of people in the military, but never mentioned serving in the military. I received a "D", but, to be fair, I did not seek tutoring. AVOID!

RUN FAR AWAY !!!! Attempted to take Math in Summer with this Prof. He has obviously had bad experiences with students breaking his rules in the past, and he used valuable class time talking about it. Yet if YOU have a question in class, he speaks down to you as if YOUR the one disrupting class, I pd.$650 to listen to him gripe, what a waste!!!!!

STAY AWAY! if you care about your grade, do not take his class. he teaches easy stuff in class, then gives you ridiculous online tests. if you enter it wrong, the whole problem is wrong. i don't know of anyone that passed the final. it dropped my grade from a B to a D. AVOID!

This man is not the kindest teacher at KSU. In the many years I've been a student, I've had better. I have failed his class, yes mostly my fault but he didn't help at all. He is a perfectionist and will call you out personally. Do not take him, there is a great chance you will fail. I hope you heed this warning

This is my first review on here and I did it to warn all students to STAY AWAY FROM HIM AT ALL COSTS. Mooney is rude and unhelpful. His tests are extremely inconsistent with the HW, and he makes no reach to help you. I was an all A and B student until him. I made a D, retook the course with a someone else and got an A because the teacher was better

This class really threw me for a loop. Prof. Mooney is very smart, there's no denying that, but unless you have a solid foundation of math going into this course or you pick up on mathematical concepts very easily, reconsider this professor. Surprise quizzes, take-home tests (unless he notices the class using a calc.), & notes through Powerpoint.

He is he worst professor I have ever had. Im terrible at math just a much as the next person, and when you go to ask questions, he will make you feel dumb for even asking it in the first place. He's super sarcastic and thinks he's hilarious. His final is impossible!

Although I got an A in this class it is not a class that I would take again. Charles is rude and the class was difficult. I went to the math lab for help with every single homework! Avoid him if you can, study REALLY hard if you cant.

I'm a very good math student. Always was in accelerated math programs in high school. Most of this course I already learned in 10th grade. AVOID THIS TEACHER. The material isn't that tough. Homework after every class. Even being a good math student, I found myself spending 2-4 hours on homework (always graded for accuracy). Homework is tough. AVOID

Professor Mooney gives math work every week on MyMathLab but it's necessary that you do it and do well on it. It helps your grade alot if you do bad on the tests. Plus it prepares you for the tests. The tests are hard and the final is nearly impossible to pass. I would only recommend if you want a challenge and are good in math.

I took him my first semester here. I always made A's in any math class I've ever taken. I asked him for help and he turned me away acting like I was stupid. Tests are the hardest things I've ever taken. Honestly he should be fired.

Ridiculous amount of homework and quizzes. Like hours of homework nightly. If you ask an honest question in class, he makes you feel stupid with his sarcastic answers. He makes the tests terribly hard for how easy of a class this should be. Final exam was impossible, made my grade go from an A to a C. Would not recommend anyone to take this guy.

GO TO CLASS AND YOU GET EXTRA CREDIT. I showed up to the final exam (60% of your grade) with a 117... THAT IS NOT A TYPO. Mean person, but it's not hard. test are online/ open book. Final is in-class. If you go to class, theres no reason you should not get an A.

Pros: Gives out lots of extra credit just by showing up to class. The extra credit applies to your overall grade. Also makes funny comments and lectures are straightforward. I dont think hes a horrible professor until it comes time to take the test. The problems in class are so much easier than the test problems, then on top of that, no partial credit for anything. Even if your good at math, you have to be unbelievably careful since its all or nothing. He always responses to emails (weekends to), which is nice.

Lectures are powerpoint based and he gives up to 10 bonus points for just attending class. But he is the pissiest man you will ever meet. He's rude and likes to criticize students when they ask questions. The final (worth 30% of entire grade) was the hardest test I've ever taken and brought my grade down. I would avoid taking Charles at all costs.
