I think Myers might be a bit crazy but he is a great guy. if he thinks you have potential he'll kick your ass to get it out of you which is something teachers dont do that often. his attitude in class makes it easier for students to strive to do their bes

by far one of the best teachers at saddleback, he's direct and honest. And also offers a great insight to life and how the real world around us really is. He's not exactly an easy teacher but is highly motivative and pushes you to excell
Charlie is the best frikin teacher at any school. If you ever considder being a film student this is the class to take. It will teach you wether you will sink or swim in the industry and it will show your own breaking point as a writer, director actor ect
Charlie is a dedicated professor who is not afraid to tell you what you need to do to achieve your dreams and ambitions. He has always been there for his students and reaches all of them on a level we/they can understand. My Mentor.

I've learned more about film making in the last semester than I did over months of shooting my own 16mm films 3 years ago. Charlie tells you HOW to do it, WHY to do it, and convinces his students that they MUST NOT SETTLE FOR MEDIOCRITY.
He answers any questions that you may have. He will get resources or referals when you need them. He pushes you to be the best film maker that you can be. He has motivated me more than any other teacher I have ever had.
This class & teacher R beyond perfect, Charlie is intelligent & worked in the BIZ so he knows what hes talking about. The class has tests but they R his lectures...no papers & no homework! you watch movies...Movie selection are movie Classics...the BEST teacher & class...he is cute in his own way!
Chuck is the reason I am still in school today. The first lecture of his, he re-inspired me in this field. His classes are fun but hard. He will answer any question you have and will push you to be the best at what your doing.
What a joke! Plays favorites all the time, not very supportive UNLESS you're part of his "in crowd" This SHOULD be a great program but Charlie RUINS IT with favoritism! What a shame.
we watched the independant movie "Saw", what can i say?
Charlie is an incredibly effective educator. He not only has the requisite education, but has the "real world" experience to back it up. Very few professors can claim his credentials. Most, unfortunately, have never seen the outside of a classroom or ventured outside the campus to actually practice what they preach. Charlie is the real deal.
Charlie isn't just the cat's meow; he's the cat.
charlie tells you like it is. you will learn the basic fundamentals that a person needs to know in order to properly run a production. you will learn that the industry is hard, you will get ripped to shreds, but you can do it. the class is crucial, if you can, take it, youll learn a lot. if you do, dont ever miss a class
He's the best!!! every monday we got to leave earely and on weds. we would watch a movie, there is a quiz everyday on what u learned the class before but they're really easy! and the final is your quizzes!!! Best guy ever!

Charlie rocks my world. Knows billions about movies and loves them, always willing to help anyone in need, super cool and laidback. One of the best teachers I have ever had.
Myers is the guys. Thanks to him I have a job in television now, less than a year after I learned my craft. Gosh if only I could figure out his e-mail, I really need to get in contact with him. Someone post it!
Awsome teacher, Wonderful friend, Careing person, WIll stand behind you hundred precent as long as your willing to work you ass off and do anything, Does play favorites but only with those who are seriouse about film as a career.

The Best teacher I have ever had. He prepared me to own any film production class I would go into. He can be a rough but he gets you ready for the real world of production.

I gave him a 3 on EASINESS not for who he is but the class as a whole. This is not an easy class nor is it an easy business to get into. He tells you that right up front. Charlie is the one who taught me the little things in film making. If I could write more I would. He'll bend over backwards for you, but won't hold your hand in the process.
best teacher you will have for film
Easiest class I've ever taken. All you do is take notes for 10 minutes, and then watch a rad movie. I recommend History of Film to everyone who wants to fulfill their general ed requirements.
Charlie Myers. WOW. This guy is the best teacher i've ever had. As long as you are willing to bust your butt to make good films, he gives you respect and is behind you 110%. He totally scared me the first day of class by saying how hard it was gonna be, but i stuck it out and now it's my favorite class! I wish all my teachers had this much passion
Charlie is a mentor & friend and he is completely devoted to his students and the business of film making. He'll bend over backwards for you if he can and will kick you in the butt when he needs to. He also has the rare quality that few teachers possess of making you immediately feel better after you've been kicked in the butt. The man cares.
I can't say enough about this guy. He teaches in and outside of the classroom, and teaches you about more than just film, but about life. He gives great advice, and really cares. He quickly becomes a friend and ur biggest supporter. I've never seen a professor care about his students this much. He continuously goes out of his way for their good.
Professor Myers is an awsome teacher and kept me interested the whole entire class. His class was the easiest class I have ever taken in my college carrer and it is interesting as well. Unfortunatley he does not teaching this class anymore but I recommend him to anyone who is taking film production.
Whoever wrote the comment saying Meyers is a horrible teacher must have been a student who never came to class or even cared about the class. Charles is one of the most knowledgable teachers in his particular field that I've taken at saddleback. Extremly helpful, tells you what to study before each quiz, and grades almost too fairly. Great teacher!
Amazing class. Never knew so much about films. Dont bother buying the book just take notes from what he puts on the board. No homework. Quizzes everyday so you have to go to class but they are easy. Tells you exatly what is on the midterm and final. Almost all the films you watch are good. He is totally in to what he talks about so thats cool too.

Charlie is a Great Teacher, The Best that Saddleback has to offer, he knows what he's talking about, rides your ass until you get it right, and when you do get it right, he still finds a way to ride your ass about it, his faviorte phrase, "You know; That didn't completely suck!"...means that you've done good. By God!!! "Word Up, Cotton!"
This was such a fun class. It is on the hard side only because there is ALOT of work, but it is fun. I think that Charlie is the best teacher around and knows what he is talking about. He really WANTS to help you succeed. I really recommend this class!!!!
Simply put, this guy is honest. if you screw up, he'll let you know. if you make a good one, he'll slap ya on the back. if you can't handle a little hard work, take a cooking class or something. This guy rocks!!
I love his class. He is super cool, and he is very passionate about film. It was the easiest class to get an A. You go watch a movie and take a super easy quiz next class. Some people did not like the movies he picked for the course, personally I love them all.
Great class really easy just show up and stay awake for the movies and you'll be good. Awesome teacher!!!! The only thing is he doesn't like it when you are late. But if you show up and are "mildly sober" you will most likely get an A.
Great guy, really wants his students to succeed. The class is hard but is really fun. You learn a lot about film, business, and life lessons. Best class I have ever taken.
Charles Myers/ Professor Myers to those who cannot get an A in his class. If you can't take the heat, get out now but if you get out now, you will suck majorly as a filmmaker. This guy rules and will push and push and push to success. Take him! He rocks!
Charlie is a great guy. His is a little difficult to understand at times... he tends to ramble and you're left wondering what the heck he's still talking about. His class is AMAZINGLY easy and as long as you show up you'll get at least a C. Lots of quizzes but they're all simple and as long as you pay attention you'll be fine.
Take his summer class. All you do is show up, take a short super easy quiz, lectures for a little bit and then you watch a movie. Midterm and final are really easy but you have to show up at the beginning of class or else youll miss the quiz! Easy A!
Show up, don't be late, and you've got an A. I took this class for an easy A, and on top of that I got to see some great movies and learn a lot about film (the history, the art, and the business). I highly recommend this class to anyone who's ever seen a movie.
He's alright. Picks favorites big time. Lots of flakes in the groups who probably get the same grade as you, even if you work the hardest in class. Charlie doesn't care what people think, and he thinks he's always right...which he's not. Makes you feel like S***. Don't let him push you around.
Good teacher who loves his craft - film. Good guy but can be combative, so don't go sound off. Interesting class. You an get any grade you want - just do the work.
Really nice guy and a great teacher. Take his summer class. Easy midterm and final. DO NOT BUY THE TEXT BOOK-you don't need it.
His online class is horrible. He is unclear on his writing assignments and ends up giving you a D. He's very unprofessional and very condesending in his posts making us seem "stupid" because we didn't do the assignment right. He told us at our orientation that this class is hard, but it's not... he's just rude and incapable of giving good grades.
This is not an easy class, but it's fun to know different movies. There are discussion boards, weekly quizzes and two papers. You need to stay on top of things because it's quick to fail. Midterm and Final are hard, but the notes help. Make sure you do exactly what he wants. If you do, you should do fine. I got an A, but worked my butt off.
Online course is fair. Read the notes and do what is asked, you will get a good grade.
I took this class online and it wasn't too bad. I worked hard at keeping up with the movies and doing my discussion posts. The hardest part is keeping up. Stay active in the discussions and give good examples and you should do fine. I got a high A in this class but I worked pretty hard.
Took the online class and it is not easy. If you are not a movie buff, you may find the class difficult. Need to watch different genres and be able to relate movies within genres to style. Need to be active on discussion board w/meaningful posts. Papers are a little unclear so ask questions if you don't understand. Weekly quizzes are tricky.
Class is great! Wanna have a good time online, join! If anything gets too hard, just ask him..he may not answer your question the way you want him to, so just ask again a different way. There is extra credit!
took him for film 1. language is not an issue with him. If you show up, work your butt off, and give it your all, you should get at least a B. If you pass film 1 he allows you to come back at any time and sit in on the class again. Does tend to pick favorites, but doesn't show it too much.
Charlie, is more than qualified to teach you what you need to know in all areas of film production. He is hilarious, fun, and with a couple classes with him you can pass on film school. You will get jobs sent to you by him, and the opportunity to work on a feature film. This guy is legendary in the film department. Two V's up from me!
Charlie's THE MAN! He's a great teacher who truly cares about his students and their success. He's helped me further my career hugely in just 2 semesters. It's true he plays favorites but only with students who care about the class and want this to be their future. He teaches you well, isn't afraid to shoot you down but with help you right back up.
Weird but never boring. Had to drop a class each time I took his classes to do all th work as it is alot. There may be some things wrong with his head but there is also a lot tht is really right. Probably best prof I ever (just finishing Chapman film now) had but heard he left which is sad.
He is an extremely unorganized professor. He makes a class which should be fun extremely stressful. I would highly recommend taking this course with someone else.
Grades impossible. I did what he asked and still received a d. Don't take him. He says it's possible but unless your a movie expert not happening
Enjoyed my class fully and moreover, the professor. This was the BEST online class I have every taken and if I could, I would take it again just for fun! The work is a large load, but if you stay on top of things, he makes it easy for you to make a good grade. DO watch the movies listed as the movies are in the final examination. Kudos, Charlie!
Awesome! I enjoyed this class 100%! Class would probably be easier in person but sometimes that's not possible. Online class is fun. Might seem like a daunting workload but you know the due dates from the beginning of class. Get it done early. Stay on top of the thread posts and you'll get an A! And watch the movies, surprisingly they're good!
The online class is a lot of work. Along as you follow his directions you should get an A. Always answers questions when you are confused. Thanks for the class.
Very dedicated teacher. Truly seemed to care about his students experience. He set high standards but was exceedingly fair and helpful. The online class was actually very interactive and interesting due to the discussion board and a great deal of teacher communication. There was probably more class participation online than in a typical class.
The online class and the grading system are very disorganized. I thought it would be easier, but it actually makes it somewhat harder to get an 'A' when the final is only worth 10 pts and quizzes are only worth 1 pt each. He also grades discussion posts very harshly but will refuse to tell you why he took points-which is so frustrating.
Grading system doesn't make sense, you are graded by your peers on every project and they can say anything they want. Purchased books in the class and never used them. Pretty moody professor, he has completely screamed at the top of his lungs at the class or singles someone out. Can't get clear answers from him, leaves you hanging usually.
Very disorganized, no clear notes at all. Bought different books and we never used them in the class. Really goes on the idea of the class activities are subject to change (all the time). Pretty bipolar guy too. Also he tells students to not get their degrees and just to go work up in hollywood. Class is usually over crowded.
What a great instructor! Charlie makes it easy to know exactly what is expected of you. He gives you examples of papers that received an A in past semesters so you know exactly what he is looking for. If you read the directions and don't wait until the last minute you can definitely get an A in this class.
Didn't enjoy this class, has favorite students picked out. Seemed like they got more privileges than others, and were recognized for great work done (even though their work sucked). and watch out for Matt, he's the lab technician, who deleted all of my work on film lab computer and had to reshoot all of my work.
Charlie is a great teacher! That being said, he's not for everybody. I love him, but a lot of the students just aren't tough enough to get above a C in the class. He expects a lot from you, so don't take this class if it's "just for fun." His approach is tough, and very demanding, but it's necessary if you want to survive in the film industry. Me=A
Never take this professor. His classes are far too difficult for what is supposed to be an interesting and fun class. This professor ruined any enjoyment i might have had by taking this class or wanting to take any future classes in this field.
You don't learn anything from this guy. Rambles a lot of nonsense. Acts like he knows everything about film, but its mostly just his obscure view on things. His favorite students are the directors of these projects and they usually aren't that great and most of the time you'll never see the end product. You'll go into this class and regret it.
Tough class. This professor never listens to what you have to say and will make fun of you in front of the whole class whenever he gets the chance. Sure he's not for everyone but he doesn't have to treat you like you're a moron when its just a joke of a class.
Went through film 1 without any problems (didn't talk to Charlie at all). Went into film 2, and wow. This guy gives you the most generic advice that you can't even say he was helping. You're left hanging without a clue what to do. Very hard class, and there's no direction. Also have to buy a book that you'll never use, waste of money.
Charlie doesn't sugarcoat anything. He trains you for the dog eat dog business that is the entertainment industry. If you can't hack this class, you probably can't hack Hollywood. Go into his classes with that mentality and he will be one of your greatest mentors.
Charlie is not an easy teacher, and I wouldn't have it any other way. If you're serious about getting onto film work, take this class. You learn how to stay cool under pressure, basic technical skills that can be applied to any set you work on, and basic story structure. A highly competitive class to be sure.
Best Teacher at Saddleback. Pushes you harder then anyone and unlocks your full potential. Not for everyone sense he will humiliate you numerous times to get points across.
Lack of togetherness. Disorganized and delayed response - if ever. It will suffice as an elective course yet if this is your major - Film...perhaps you may seek outside sources for more info. Good luck.PS I did earn an 'A'.
I really enjoyed this course and would recommend it to those who love movies and are interested in movie history and the business of movie making. Little depressing to see how forumla driven the process is, and how narrow the target demographic for most films is, but it was still fascinating. Knowledeable instructor led class through the classics.
Prof. Myers is lighthearted, easygoing, and loves what he does. He's always interacting with the students and treats you like an equal. His lectures are clear and interesting, and he always gives good advice based on his own experience.
I've taken Film 1 and 2. Charlie goes above and beyond what any teacher needs to do for his students. He comes in on the weekends to check on the Filming, and stays after class to discuss projects. He is truly dedicated to his students and teaching and stresses that his students go out there and earn more $ than him. Great teacher!
hands down. This professor has changed so many students into working professionals no questions asked. If you can't handle a film class with charlie Myers you honestly do not belong in film (Not In Hollywood anyways )
by far my favorite teacher, he is a hard ass but only to show you what the real world will be like. if you show him that you are determined to do well and you work hard he will go out of his way for you, and his whole motivation is to make his students into working professionals. never be late never use your cell phone in class
Had to punch out one film every two weeks. It is helpful to have a flexible work schedule. Grades will highly depend on how reliable you can be. Showing up 15 minutes to this class is highly advisable if you want some respect. You will get yelled at some point. You will survive.
He is a great teacher and is super helpful! I am so glad that i am taking his classes! He is here all the time and you can go see and talk to him almost anytime! He Knows what it is like to be in the industry. He makes you work for everything you get!!!
Charlie Myers is a great professor that is extremely knowledgeable about the industry. He teaches us many fundamentals that are often overlooked. He is extremely energetic and ambitious about his students succeeding and has a track record to prove it. He really pushes you and you get a real hands-on experience in this class to really grasp skills.
This class is an easy A if you come to class and do not B/S the paper. Try your best on his tests, but you don't really need A's on them to pass the class. Come 5 minutes EARLY to make sure you catch the pop-quizzes in the beginning. That is how he takes attendance! Very laid back and funny. Great prof!
Wonderfull wonderful creature
Not clear on the grading. Seems to bully the students. Plays favorites. Would prefer a teacher who encourages rather than humiliates.
The best film class u will ever take by far. Super helpful and funny. Only people who whine are them that think they know everything already. Gets u a job
fantastic movies and I was surprised to like internatinal movies. super fun and easy class
Ok, this is not an easy teacher & if you do bother him, he'll be freaking out on you. That being said, Charlie is a fantastic professor. He can be very helpful, caring, and knowledgeable. However, that only happens when he sees that you do your job as a hard working student. So, stay on his good side & you'll be just fine.
Not an easy teacher, must be there at least 5 minutes early to take the 1pt quiz and attendance is key. Many fun and interesting foreign movies watched. There is a midterm, final, essay and extra credit. Listen to his lectures and you will do well in the class!! take him!
"Help me, help you", this is one of his trademark, & literally , he means it. When he sees that you try definitely, he helps you all the way.So, what are you waiting for?! Go ahead, & do yourself a BIG favor,& sign up for his class & have a fUn semester of your college time. Yes indeed!!
Very easy class, but also very boring. He doesn't make international cinema interesting at all, and instead makes it feel like a chore. Tried to research one of the topics covered, and discovered that some of his "notes" are taken straight from Wikipedia. Uploads things late, grades things late. I regret taking this class.
Being a huge movie person, I was so looking forward to this class. It would been a better class if he engaged in the discussions and made us talk more about the films. He takes forever to answer emails and it took forever to get the online textbook/class together.
This class was fun, and the movies we watched were good. The assignments were repeated and the due dates were very confusing tho. I got a pretty bad grade because I kept missing assignments because I didn;t know when they were due.
It is impossible to describe this man in 350 characters. going through all of him film classes has changed me for the better, made me a stronger person, and has gotten me film jobs. He is the best teacher i have ever had. If you cant handle Charlie, you dont belong in film, its as simple as that
I have taken two classes with Professor Myers and he made realize that film is my calling. His international film class is amazing. Quizzes are beyond easy and analysis assignments are too. I wish he work on making discussions more important though. I plan on taking more classes with him very soon!
Had little interest prior to taking course in topic, very happy I took the class and view film in an entirely new way. Well organized and set up for success as long as you read and follow class materials.
If all teachers were like Professor Myers no kids would ever drop out of school. He truly cares about his students and wants them to succeed even more then they want it for themselves. His lectures are amazing ,I could listen to him all day long. The best teacher I have ever had.
He is by far the teacher who has changed my life the most. He is very tough, but cares about all of his students and wants them to succeed. He expects complete dedication and hard work. If you are committed to getting a career in the film industry you must take his class. I wish all of my teachers had been as inspiring and knowledgable as him.
Book not needed if you're tv competent. Spent 30 min/wk on BB and got 105pts/90pts- skipped the midterm too. Don't expect a response; my uncle died suddenly and I was a wreck. I forgot to take a quiz and asked him if I could take it for half. He ignored it even though I followed email procedure. My strict boss even gave me 1 wk paid leave to mourn.
He is a super enthusiastic teacher who will tell you the truth. Nothing but the truth!
Really interesting class. I enjoyed almost every film we watched. Quizzes, discussion boards, and various assignments are straightforward. However, his due dates are confusing. To be safe, turn in everything early rather than waiting until the last minute. Don't buy the recommended textbook(s), they aren't used in the course.
Good teacher, but definitely not for everyone. He can be a bit abrasive, but beneath his "boot camp" persona, he's actually an incredibly caring guy who just wants to see all his students succeed.
Really easy class... Hard to fail. I did not do well on every quiz and I finished with a 98%
Amazing teacher, but not for everyone. He can be a bit rude and abrasive to his Film 1 students, but that's mostly because he wants to show what its like on set. Very caring and respectful guy outside of class who just wants to see his students succeed. Highly recommended. Very inspirational man.
Hasn't graded any discussion posts til the night(9pm) before you can drop with a "w". Only leaving a gap of 3 hours to check your grade . So you will know the basis of your grade pretty much AFTER the "drop with a w" option. Got to say, I did fairly well on my discussion posts but got 7,8's on all of them. Responds email quickly though.
This guy is completely honest with his students; tells them nothing but the truth. However, under his abrasive shell (and I use that term very loosely), is a compassionate, caring individual who wants all of his students to succeed and make it big in the real world. Highly recommended, though not for the faint of heart or for slackers.
Easiest 8 week class, I spent 2 hours a week on this class. DO GOOD DISCUSSION POSTS! They are worth so many points, be thorough in your posts and your replies and you will get an easy A. Doesn't respond well to emails. Extra credit at the end.
Film 1 is a challenge. Be ready. Charlie will prepare you for the real world though, so take this class if you want to be in film. He is tough, but he is amazing. Just make sure to ask questions when you don't know something and ALWAYS come to class.
Took the class last summer as a high school student to complete my Visual Performing Arts requirement and loved the material he created and loved the pace of the assignments. Tests and exam questions were directly from notes. Lots of extra credit to help you earn an A in the class. It was a lot of fun watching the assigned movies.
Excellent class. Once you are done, you will really appreciate the role of film directors. Took the class to complete my VPA requirements and worked hard to earn my 'A'. Quizzes and tests come straight from his published text book so read them over and over again to do well. Gives you extra credit to help you earn that 'A'.
International cinema is DIFFICULT. If you are not a film major I would advise you not take this class, as it was extremely hard for me to understand the material. I took this class because I loved CTVR 3 but I did not like this class.
I loved CTVR 5. I took it over the summer and It was an eight week course. The syllabus is clear as day. You can rent or buy the e-book online and I would because it helps you with quizzes and the final. There is quizzes, essays, midterm, and final. Its such a cool class with interesting movies. Easy A if you work hard. Highly recommend this class
Worst class I have ever taken. Extremely hard quizzes, and written analysis's due every week. Never posts grades. Do not take.
Professor Myers is great, just do the assignments and read his textbook which is designed really easy to read. Lots of movies to watch, and optional assignments for extra credit. Really easy to get an A as long as you do most of the assignments but he sets it up where you don't have to do them all. He is awesome and really smart.
Charlie is one of the best professors I have ever had and truly cares about getting his students to love the craft of film. Learned so much and got to watch cool movies along the way. Wish I could take more classes from him!
The midterm and final are very hard. Gives you NO time to complete the tests and I had to rush all the answers. The assignments were relatively easy but you have to do ALL of them or you will fall behind. The grading is odd and each quiz/assignment are fractional points. Good luck if you take this class.
Charlie is tough but fair. He only cares about your work ethic, because that's all that matters in Hollywood. There's no better professor to prepare you for that reality, and he'll do so in a manner that is equal parts engaging, hilarious, and grueling. As a student, I got my money's worth and then some. Charlie's good people, and a great educator.
Charles Myers makes you earn the grade. His class was extremely rewarding and extremely hard at the same time. I wouldnt be where I am today (Audio Visual Director for a multimillion non-profit) with out being a student of Charles Myers.
It's been a couple of years since I was instructed by him, and since then I've transferred out of Saddleback, but the lessons I've learned and held onto in his class are incomparable. He's given the most meaningful and important words about not only film, but life overall. I would be honored to have another professor like him.
The first time I met Mr. Myers I was in another class and wasnt sure if I wanted to take his class as he was very blunt. In the film industry you need someone to tell you the way it is and it makes you think if this is really what you want to do. Charlie has one rule, you can only call him Charlie after you have passed his course. He truly cares.
Charlie changed my outlook on life completely and its because of him I am where I am in my career today. Every class is an inspiration. His lectures are amazing and hes hilarious. He really cares about his students and their success. He has decades of students visiting him every week.
Professor Myers is a great film professor. Out of many film teachers I've had before & after taking his class, no one was as serious or as passionate as he is. He truly cares about his students and the work they create to reflect their unique outlook in life. This is not a high school class that you make videos for credit. It's legit shorts & more.
Myers class was the core factor that made me and so many others successful in one of the most competitive career fields out there. The technical skills and work ethic I learned from Myers have improved my life and allowed me to get hired over candidates with MFAs and over a decade more experience than myself, solely for the merit of my work.
Professor Myers is without question the foremost best film professor I have had. There is no other professor who prepares you for the film industry like Myers. He stresses the importance of a strong work ethic. He truly cares about his student's success in the film industry. Without question you will be a better storyteller after this course.
Professor Myers is the best professor I've ever had. He focuses on making you a hard worker, and most importantly, an employable one . He will push you because he believes in you. He's also a great lecturer and speaker. Not only that, he's hilarious, engaging and great to talk to. Previous students always come by to visit.
Charlie Myers is the greatest teacher I have ever had. He expects a lot of you and pushes you really hard to prepare you not only for the Film industry, but for the rest of your life as well. You'll never forget a class with Charlie.
Its well known amongst the film students that Charlies class is no walk in the park. He expects all of his students to be prompt, concise, dedicated, willing, and hungry - all of which are qualities that are not only encouraged in the industry, but mandatory. I emerged from his class a better filmmaker and a more diligent worker and creative.
Mr. Myers opens the beginning of his Film 1 semester with "some of you will earn the right to call me Sensei". But what he doesn't explain is that is because he puts his heart and soul into his students education. Charlie is more than a professor, he is a teacher, a mentor, and a friend. I have never met someone so dedicated to their profession. RR
He is one of the best teachers I ever had in my entire school career
I became acquainted with Charles in the late 90's while attending Saddleback College. As a student in his first class at the college, I was impressed with his passion for teaching and his vast knowledge of all aspects of film production. He encouraged his students to step out of their comfort zones and explore their creative minds while teaching th
Professor Myers is hands down the best teacher there is at Saddleback. He is the most qualified teacher there is to teach film. His stories and experiences with the film industry are not only interesting but very real and educational. He tells you the true reality of the film industry and what it takes to succeed. We need more teachers like him.
I took most of my production classes with Charlie. No one has made me want to work hard for anything and yet I was spending all my weekends on set doing projects. Honestly one of my favorite professors.
He is by far the best professor I've had. He helps his students to succeed as long as they put in a little effort. I would recommend taking any of his classes.
Professor Myers is a tell-it-like-it-is seasoned professional not only in the classroom, but also on the set. This course sets you up with the fundamentals for an entry level position in the industry, but you have to earn it.
Charlie is a professor I think we all need to have at least once in our life. When I was looking to transfer for film to a top university, his skill, knowledge and incredible mentor ship was an essential guide for me and he remains one of the few professors I actively look up to. He's tough, honest and deeply cares about the craft of film.
I originally took the class just to get credit, not thinking anything of it, but very early into the class I discovered that Professor Meyers genuinely cares about you and how you're doing. In addition to that I learned more in that class than I did from anyone/anywhere else.
I attribute 100% of my success in the film industry to the principles I learned in Charlie Myers' class. His lectures are inspirational, his labs are tough but teach you so much about what to do to successfully exist on a film set. He is by far one of the best teachers I have ever had.
Professor Myers is by far the best teacher Ive ever had. He tells it straight whether you like it or not but his constructive criticism shows how much he truly cares for his students. I can honestly say that he is the reason I survived working in the industry after everything hes taught me! I couldnt thank him enough for all hes done!

Mr. Myers is someone who sincerely cares how well his students do, and not just in his class. He will go the extra mile to make sure you understand the concepts being taught, and really pushes each student to be their best. He demands excellence from every one of his students, so there is absolutely zero room for slackers. I respect him greatly.
When I took classes with Charlie he had a genuine concern for the success of his students currently attending and remained friends with students well after they had graduated. The subject matter he teaches is varied and he prioritizes the completion of films over written exam work. Highly charismatic and practical.
The most influential professor/string of classes (Film1-3) I had in College. Prof. Myers goes out of his way to ensure that his students are prepared for life on actual film sets by providing you with the REAL knowledge needed to make it in one of the countries toughest industries. GREAT CLASS and even better professor/mentor.
He's serious about film and you should be too. This man will help you gain the skills you need to either understand visual storytelling, start working in the film industry, or he'll bring you to realize it's not right for you. Hands down the best film teacher I've ever had. Teaches more by doing and the lectures are very fun and helpful.
Charlie is EASILY the best film professor I've ever had. I was lucky enough to get him for a number of semesters before transferring to USC. Charlie provided an incredible foundation in learning about film production -- He prepared all his students for the realities of the industry and was (and still is) someone I look up to when I have questions.
Looking back at my educational history I can't say I enjoyed a teacher as much as Charlie. He teaches the way that the world is. He is tough at times but only for the sake of learning. I would not be where I am now without the knowledge I learned from this man. He genuinely wants people to succeed and goes out of his way to make it happen.
Charlie is without a doubt the best professor I have ever had. I had the pleasure of attending his classes for 2 semesters and he pushed me not only to be a better film maker, but also to be a better person. Albeit his teaching style is unconventional, his goal is prepare all of his students to be mentally tough enough to survive the film industry.
Professor Meyers is one of the best teachers Ive ever had. He believes in his students and guides us as we do the work. If you put in the work and have a good attitude you will love him.
Charles Meyers is a great professor if you actually take the time to listen to what he has to teach. He's hard on his students because he wants to push them further into success. A brutally honest, incredibly knowledgeable professor who can open the world of cinematography.
Charlie was one of the best professors that I've ever had. He pushed you and taught you in a REAL way. He didn't sugar coat anything because we are all adults, so he taught you as one. Without him I wouldn't be where I am in the Film/TV industry. If he hadn't pushed me the way he did, may have never made it.
Charlie has inspired and empowered so many students. Throughout his program, I was able to grow into the confidence that I didn't know I had, which led me to fully pursue my career in the film industry. His guidance & firm belief in cultivating success for his students is truly unlike anything else. I owe so much of the success I have now to him.
Honestly one of the most inspirational people I have ever met. Charlie requires that everyone gives 100% of their effort and doesnt accept anything less. This class and Charlie will get you ready for the real world. Best professor ever!
Charlie is one of the best professors anyone can get. He truly cares about the future of every student. He's the teacher that from day one talks about the future and makes it clear that is is possible for anyone who puts the work and time into it. I recommend anyone that is a film major to take Charlie, he truly prepares you for success.

He's demanding, tough, honest, and fair. He won't coddle you, but he will Yoda mind trick you. He will teach you things about yourself beyond the class. If you're interested in film, his class should be MANDATORY. Not all will survive, but survivors will be better prepared, regardless of career path. "I don't want to die without any scars."
Professor Myers was hands-down the most influential professor I had throughout college. While he's well-versed in teaching the filmmaking process, he also motivates and inspires his students to work as hard as they can at their craft. The lessons I learned in both his Film 1 and 2 classes were the groundwork for my career in the film industry.
Prof Myers is the type of professor that simulates the real world of film in a class environment. Working in film is not for everyone and many will we rubbed the wrong way by his methodology, but having completed an MFA in producing and worked on 25 film projects I was nothing but grateful for the lessons he instilled.
No nonesense, makes you decide if pursing a career in entertainment is right for you. Pushes you to reach full potential.
The class literally set me up not only for my profession in film production but also for life. The skills he teaches are applicable to real world production jobs. We worked hard in that class and when you got a good grade, it's because you really earned it. Charlie does not sugar coat anything and his frankness is refreshing and useful.

He gives personal attention to all his students and you'll build real working relationships with your peers. He will work you hard but you'll walk away with a true sense of confidence and motivation.
I wasn't one of Charlie's favorite pupils but I'll admit, his lessons proved invaluable in my entertainment career. Hard-work, humility and resilience are traits that keep me afloat in this freelance work climate. Charlie challenged you scholastically and personally -- to better prepare you what matters - the real world. For that, I'm grateful.

Always a memerable experience inside and outside the classroom. He brings Years of experience plus a great variety of knowledge for film and production. Charlie is the best
If I could sum up Charlie in one word as a professor, it would be passionate. Charlie motivates his students to be great at what they do. He gives you the tools you will need to help you become successful in a very competitive business. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do when I started at Saddleback, but after taking Charlie's class I was inspired.
I have had the pleasure of not only studying with Charles Myers at Saddleback College but also working with him on projects and hiring his students at my production company, Performance Production Services. As far as choosing my own production crew members, my current crew are all former Saddleback College students. I highly recommend Charles Myer
Charlie was the best film teacher I ever had. He was tough but taught me everything I needed to know about realistically making a film to completion. After transferring to UCLA to finish my degree, I still talked about the great Professor I had in community college who taught me more than UCLA ever did. Would highly recommend to any institution.
Charlie has been one of the most influential teachers in my life. He has extensive real world knowledge of the film and TV industry and is dedicated to each student he teaches. He challenges you to be a better filmmaker and person. All of the skills and habits I learned in his classes prepared me for the industry and life outside of college.
My best years at Saddleback College have been while taking film classes with Charles Myers. I learned a lot about pre-production, production and post-production, and I also learned a lot about working with a team. You have to put the work but if you're passionate about this field, you'll learn a ton with Charles Myers, the best teacher I had.
Charlie is the most influential professor I have ever had. After moving on to one of the best film schools in the world, I can confidently say that the most valuable education I got took place in his classroom. Whether you want to be a producer or a grip, he will teach you the tools to get noticed and excel in your department. A very wise man.
The film program Charley started at Saddleback College was twice as good as my four year University. He mad you hit deadlines that almost seemed impossible but thats what a lot of production is in the real world. He was always there for help and guidance in the classroom and out. One of the best teachers I have had.
Charlie had a major impact on encouraging me to stay and pursue a film degree. When I transferred to my 4-year university, I was already so much farther ahead than the other students and it almost felt too easy there. I now work for a major film studio and owe most of my success to him.
Charlie Myers is one of the most hard-working professionals I've ever known. With a grand experience in the film industry, Charlie does everything in his power to make sure his students are well-prepared to go work with the best set etiquette possible, a good attitude & high spirits. Taking his class was one of the best decisions I've ever made.
Charlie is one of the most amazing mentors I've ever had. While he can be tough, it is all for the better of the student. I've been able to learn so much from him not only about the film industry, but also about myself. Without him, I truly don't think I'd be where I am today. AMAZING
Charles was possibly my favorite teacher ever. He was extremely fun, caring, and the class was enjoyable while still being really interesting and informative. The class learned a lot while having a lot of fun. I highly recommend taking his course.
