I took class online, may be that's why my opinion of the instructor seems to be better than those below. He was very helpful, tests weren't easy, but not hard either. You are given 2-3 hrs for each exam for 40 or less problems. There are 3 exams, 7 quizes (only 5 count), 1 final comprehensive.

He's is easy if you write notes down and ask questions. His reviews help alot because it is exactly what is on the test. He gives homework every day but it helps out for practice even though you don't have to turn it in.

I took the online class. The quizzes were not too bad, you have more time than you'll ever need on them. He posted a class note on request, which wasn't helpful. He's for real on the syllabus. Overall I did good - A.

Best teacher i have ever seen. Believe me you will love math after taking this course.I recommend this instructor to everyone. He is excellent in his teaching technique and extremely helpful. you won't find any better teacher than him when it comes to easyness.

I took this professor for STATS and Finite Math at the same time, both online. He is a great teacher and I ended up getting a B in one and a C in the other. I hate math so I was happy with my grades. All the tests and quizzes are online so you can use your book to help pass. I'd definitely recommend taking him.

I took this class online and I think he is a great teacher. Math is my worst sub. and I made a B. You have weekly quizes which are very easy and short. You have 3 exams with a cumulative final, but if you study your past test and quizes, you will make an A on the final. I would recommend him.

I took his stats class online. He responded to my emails promptly. Just do the homework questions and review the online notes he posts and you should be fine. The quizzes and tests are not bad at all.

great teacher. easy to understand and works to help you anyway that he can. very responsive to emails. math is not my subject, but this teacher makes you like the class.

if you are okay with someone teaching you like you are in kindergarten, then you will absolutely love him!!!! he opened my eyes to alot of stuff in the 4week mini summer session, and i think thats saying ALOT!!! His tests are straight forword and from the reviews and homework assigned. His class was a breeze and math is not even my strong point!!~

Great teacher, had him for trig and also for calc1, and i would highly recomend him. he is not easy but explains very well, he gives reviews and the test are very similar to that, always multiple choice. he may seem a bit rude but as a teacher is excelent if you really want to learn.

This man is brilliant. I am surprised he is teaching at a community college and not at a university level. Anyhow, take him and he will make you enjoy calculus. Also, his tests are very similar to the review.

Linear thinker. Very logical. Very clear. Coverage of Calculus I is complete and thorough. Understands how people learn, letting the class think their way through problems, instead of just solving for them on the board. Massive quantity of problem solving on the whiteboard during the lecture. He's awesome. Better know trig/alg identities.10.

He is a good teacher but doesn't give enough problems to do and his notes aren't that organized. He encourages thinking on your own and is a very good teacher. Before this I hated math (it was always my weakest subject) but now I love it! Talk to him and show him you're trying and he will consider it. He grades hard though.

Excellent instructor. I have learned very much in this challenging class. Mr Odion encourages us to learn.

he was an alright teacher. he went a bit tooo fast maybe because i took him in the mini term. expects you to know everything as if you passed college algebra with an A+. he grades pretty tough. 79.8 will be counted as a C no joke.

i took this class in min term. it is easy. not required a book or mymath lab. just did the pratice test it is enough for the quiz. his lecture is very clear. i would recommended to take him class in the min term.

The Prof is very nice and explains problems clearly. Just dont miss class and the class will be a workover. The tests are preety much like the reviews. Your part is to study and you will make A.

i dont like this professor, but some students are too lazy, if they didn't pass the class, they will give the professor a low grade,that's not fair.

He is very Direct but very clear.Very useful with lots of handouts makes you not need the book.to be fair you have to work hard in EVERY cal class to get an A and i dont see why people are complaining about it.I liked him and If he had evening class i would take CAL II with him.People need to stop being lazy and put their ... to work.

This is a fully online class. I'm horrible in math and under estimated the me I would need to committ for this course. I did horrible, grades haven't posted but I will not be suprised with what I've earned. I emailed the professor twice and he responded. Follow the syllabus and you'll do fine; if you're good in math!

You don't need the book. All of the class is through MyMathLab so all homework is done and explained through the website. The professor is very clear on his expectations but is very condescending through his communications. If you have a problem, he is very unapproachable. If he does something, it's like he is doing a huge favor for you. Ugh.

He was a pretty good professor. Exams are 20 questions. Do the online HW they HELP so much! HW is your most important tool in this class. and if you have questions he is usually good at answering them.

He goes through examples and answers questions (no matter from how many math classes ago). He formats it easily on the board and gives points for going to the board to solve a question. Go to class for lectures (a lot of info). Hw is through WebAssign and that practice helps with test. They're straight forward. I liked him, he was funny.

He's not nearly as bad as people think he is. He gives online homework assignments which are an easy 100 if you do them. Don't miss class you'll miss out a lot of information. Tests are basic, whatever he taught you is going to be in the test. nothing too hard though, as long as you know the material.

Very challenging course, specially as an online mini term. Everything was done through MyMathLab, HW and exams (program is a tough grader). Professor Odion responded to my emails when I had questions. I will be forever thankful with him because after failing my 3 exams he bumped my grade to a D in order for me to take my cal 1 class this semester.

Success in this class is dependent on attendance since he doesn't really work out of the book. He works mostly from examples and requires you follow along and work on problems in class. Overall, the course is fair but there could be more transparency in terms of what will be tested... he told the class just before a test.

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews. He did talk to the board a lot but I still understood him. I thought I was going to fail but I was passing even after midterm. He's funny and because of the classmates, the class was really interesting. I would take him again.

I don't understand what the bad rating are about. Mr. Odion was great. He made the topic very clear and give multiple examples on the for the notes that were completed that day. Best math teacher i have had in a while.

I dont know what Mr. Odion is given a bad rating when he Is such a good professor. He gives you notes & goes over examples of problems to help you understand and he does it step by step. On top of that you gives you reviews for your exams so you dont have look through notes for find what to study. Hint his reviews are really similar to his exams

Take this man if you are ready to learn. He cares and always has a good attitude. Hes not boring and gives lots of examples in order for you to do well. Its not only up to him though put in the work, and do the homework it helps you review at home. Dont miss class because then you miss all the good examples and lectures.

I don't know why there are so many negative comments about him. Actually he's quite okay if you are not a lazy student. He does have an accent that is hard to listen to but plus things are he gives clear examples and the exams are exactly like the reviews. Exams are easy too. I took this professor for linear algebra and he is really good in explaining and clarifying the subjects. He let us practice problems in class which very good practice and very patient with the students. I don't know why students have this low rate about him. But he is one of the good professors I took at hcc.

He has an accent that I found not difficult to understand. He gives clear examples, explains clearly and sticks to the schedule of the syllabus. Clear expectations. Reviews like the tests. Always in a positive mood that makes class a pleasure to go to. Keeps class interesting, stays on topic, wants you to ask questions to make sure you understand.

He has an accent but is understandable. It best to attend class, he explains very well. His test are average not too hard or easy. If you ask a question he will help you try to understand. It best to ask as many questions as you want he will always explain. He pretty good professor compare to others, when it comes to teaching business math.

The professor is amazing at teaching pre-cal. i would take him again, i would recommend try not to skip any class, because he explain in details, and i you miss any of what he thought earlier, his current lectures might not be so easy to understand.

This professor is very knowledgeable, for the same reason he makes the lectures very easy to understand. If you ask for help make sure you at least tried it first, thats what he looks for. Reviews are the same as the test! My advice, don't miss a class, he covers a LOT in one hour.

This guy is literally amazing. I have taken professor Odion for all my math courses at HCC. He cares and gives extra credit for in class participation so volunteer! This guy knows his stuff! Make sure to keep up with homework because it helps. People on here rating probably are not doing their homework or bothering to learn at all. Dont skip class

I was nervous because I took this class for a 5 week online summer course and im bad at math. I passed but I did struggle! YOU WILL HAVE TO TEACH YOURSELF! My advice is if your not good at math then take him for a regular semester so you have time to learn the material. Hes fast at replying. He gives reviews for most exams which is how I passed.

Professor Odion was very helpful during this course. I had difficulty grasping the material at first, but he explained any points of confusion I had. I ended up with a grading issue, and he was very quick to fix it. If you struggle with math, this will be a hard course, but Professor Odion will do everything he can to help you. I am very thankful.

I took both MATH1324 and MATH1325 with this professor. If you are good at math and a fast learner, I highly recommend this professor. He does tend to go fast, but if you get it then you will be fine. His reviews are very similar to the tests. He also allows for a "formula" sheet so take that as an advantage.

I have finally passed this class!!!! I have been taking it for years, and Professor Odion was very helpful. His class is structured perfectly. I am telling you my C is a victory. I am not very good at Algebras/Accountings/Stats but I finally did it and he is a great professor. Most people will make an A on his class!

Heres the thing, hes good at teaching, goes slow whichs not my favorite since i have strong foundation in math but i appertained the details, he struggles with online which is what i took and tried his best to fix things but i think hes much better in person, gave us the whole semester to finish the homeworks, 3 exams 4 quizzes.

HAHA The people that are complaining either didn't do their work or didn't show up or arrive late to class. I'm not good at math and i ended up with a 91 for his class. Easy to understand. Lets us choose the amount of questions we want for exams. Don't just do the hw but LEARN the concept and you should be good for exams. Formula sheets are allowed

He's a really fun guy! You just have to break him out of his shell!

I took him for 5WK I RECOMMMEND HIM. He is a great teacher who cares. He is the best option trust me.

I took Professor Odion this past summer for the 1st 5-week session & he's an excellent professor; he's nice, explains things clearly, is open to questions, & likes active participation. He gives partial credit on exams for showing your work. Precal is difficult regardless (unless you find math easy) so you must still study a lot to pass.

All I will say is that this guy is simply amazing. The test questions are exactly the same from the homework, just different numbers, including the final. All homework was due at the end of the semester and he replaces a test grade with the final if higher. Posted notes really helped for the exams. Without even thinking, take this guy.

He writes on the board which helped us to understand the class, also he gives us enough time to do our assignments.

Great instructor! The quizzes and exams are similar to the homework. The final is comprehensive. Overall, it's a good class. Keep up with the assignments, and you won't have a problem passing.

Professor Odion's class is awesome. He is thorough, kind, and really dedicated to making sure students understand the material and pass. He's always willing to help if you ask, and you can tell he cares about student success. Definitely a great professor to learn from!

Not bad, his lectures are fairly easy to understand and he tries his best to break it down for the whole class assuming you ask questions and queries. Kinda sucked that majority of the grade is dependent on 3 major tests and a final (like 75% of the grade) so if you mess up on any of em, you're cooked.

I know my grade seems jarring but honestly I did enjoy his class. He's earnest, provides great resources to understand the material further and very accessible if you ever need to reach out to him. Don't be me though, I was too laxed with the class and it got me the is grade, LOL. Take the time to study and speak up if you need help!
