This guy knows his stuff and he explains everything pretty well. He lets you know exactly what you need to do in order to do well in his class. However I think he has anger managment problems, is arrogant, and just needs to relax a bit, because he gets boring and annoying at times. Not too hard tho.

I agree, he was 'tough' but at the same time he was clear. He didn't try to be charming or funny or anything and that could be misinterpreted as 'mean' or whatever; he just was straight-up and didn't try to win over the students liking him or not.

He's very good at lecturing and giving information. The problem is that some of what he says is not on the tests. Some things that are on the test, he doesn't go into much detail about. It's a very interesting class, except for the constant tension that seems to linger in the air. Some other students say that I'm nuts,but I like the class overall!

i like the class.sociology is an awesome subject. post is a good professor.his method of teaching is to give u a straight lecture the whole class.i like that but he is a little wired.by wired i mean how he eyeballs the students while standing at the board before class.it's like he is a soc teacher so he looks at everyone like your disgusting.funny.

I hardly opened the book and got a B. I thought his grading was kind of lenient. Granted he does have some issues, but if you go to class and take good notes, you'll pass.

I thought that this professor was ALRIGHT with me. He knows his stuff. Yes, he does not play in his class, and why should he, this is supposed to be college NOT grade school. If you want to learn about Sociology I would advise to take him even if he is a bit tough you WILL learn something.

Quit hating. He's a good professor, he just hate people who doesn't want to learn. You're not suppose to have your phone on in class anyway. Duh? All you have to do is take the notes, pay attention and pass the exams, and you'll pass. Come in 10 minutes late and he will mark you absent. Once you get past the BS, he's actually hilarious.

Yesh, this guy is a bit arrogant. He has a no-nonsence attitude about attendance and work. As soon as class time starts he goes straight to the lecture, no playing around. If you can't handle that, don't take this teacher. As long as you pay attention, and take good notes, you should pass with at least a B-.

I liked this professor; I got an A in his class. People need to understand that he isn't going to spoon feed you information. I went to his office and he was happy to help me out.Example: I lost all my notes 2 week before finals. He gave me copies of all his old exams to review. If you haven't learned since grade school that you can't text and chat in class, go flip some burgers!

I admit his demeanor can be somewhat intimidating, but Post is an expert at delivering information in a concise and entertaining manner. Nervously, I stepped into his office to get feedback on an essay, but he was kind and gave all the advice I needed. This class was a real challenge, and I recommend it to serious students only.

Professor Post is a wonderful educator. He is highly intelligent and is very passsionate about his work. He used to teach at Sarah Lawrence, so he is is very qualified and professional. You must take this class serioulsly. I learned a great deal.

It is amazing that Mr. Post is a smart guy, but please do not take him. He has issues and it causes problems with his teaching. I agree please for your own benefit do not take his class. He is not a good teacher and he is one mean son of a gun. But, BMCC will tenure anyone even if he/she can not teach. Take any for Soc but dont take Post.

I did well in his class. I do agree with some of the comments about Mr. Post on this site. He is nasty and really inappropriate. Do not take him

His class is not as difficult as he makes it seem. I think he is a great professor to take, no homework and one exam per month. He shows you how you are doing every time you get an exam.

The class is not too difficult, just do the work. But, he just has a negative attitude and it shows on his face and his interaction with students. He was ok with me, but I did my work. Overall, good class, but I don't think I would every approach him regarding recommendation or any assistance regarding school - he is not approachable.

Great teacher for serious students. It's easy to get an A if you write the lectures. He explaines everything very clear, so you know what to expect from him when you take a test or write an essay. Class was very interesting, I enjoyed it very much and got an A.

NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. the worst professor i've ever taken in my life. worst class environment, he has an attitude and he acts like fidel castro in his cuba! you cant even look at the person that's next to u or ur cell phone cause he'll stop the class untill u face him or he'll ask u to get out!... too mean!!!

I will tell you right now. This professor can be nasty and rude. But his lectures will never bore you because he is an expert in what he says and is hilarious in how he says it. Yes, of course he is strict, because you shouldnt be late or have your phones out in class anyways. His lectures are always entertaining and hilarious

He is a very strict teacher, and can be rude at times. The tests are based on the notes you take, so if you are a good note taker you wont have a problem passing the tests.

I strongly say that you better choose another professor if you want to get A. There is no A. Although his class is a well-organized content, his attitude makes students feel bad. He has a cold heart. I've never seen he laugh or even smile. Anyway, you have to attend classes, take notes, read a textbook, and write 4 essays. Also, tests accumulate.

HE IS A GREAT PROFESSOR. HE DEFINITLEY KNOWS HIS CONTENT. HE HAS WELL ORGANIZED LECTURES AND REPEATS IMPORTANT INFORMATION MORE THAN ONCE. ITS FAIRLY EASY TO PASS HIS CLASS.

He is amazing, i love how clear he makes things, he is serious about lateness, after 15 mins ur marked absent. but as long as you pay attention your good! he does have his moments where he's funny and im in love with his method of teaching

He does not joke around but he is one of the best teachers you can take. He does a essay and multiple choice so if you fail at one then the other will help you so much. DO NOT MESS WITH HIM. He's strict but he gets the job done efficently. You WILL Learn in his class if you wish too and pay attention to everything he says. If you mess around...DONT

He is very tough, that's the first thing you need to know, so if you stay quiet and pay attention you'll be fine, otherwise don't even try, because you will definitely have a hard time. Also he will give a free four absences, then after that he will start taking 2 points off your final grade, the exams are not complicated, but you'll need to study!

He's a strict professor,but he's great at teaching.You actually learn and the way he explains things are very clear,but you have to study and pay attention in his class,it's worth it!He also let's you attend 15 mins late after that you're marked late. No hw but tests,you have to pass them but they aren't hard just study!Get the grade you work for!

hes a really great professor you just have to look past his rude personality, however his class is never the less very interesting, the way he explains leaves no room for confusion or misunderstanding!

Show up to class, pass your tests. Professor Post can be really funny, he is tough though. But it's very respectable. Don't take out your cell phone in class. ever. he will stop what he's doing to embarrass you. He is very clear and extremely to the point. Essays are not hard and multiple choice tests. Take the best notes you can.

Professor Post is a fantastic teacher and you will learn a lot from him and his lectures. If you want to learn take Mr. Post, BUT not an easy A, at all! In my opinion his 50 question multiple choice questions are very tough. Take good notes and read the chapters. Tough teacher but you will learn. Don't take him unless you're prepared to study :)

You can miss 4 classes and after that you loose points in average. He is very firm but fair. You have to pay attention and do the work. If you're not great at test every test is half take home essay. Do research! If you do the work he is a very simple class to pass.

Best Soc teacher ever, very clear but not a push over. 4 free classes then it effects average, every test is half take home. He's a bit intimidating but if you like sarcastic humor this is your class. DO NOT TAKE YOUR PHONE OUT. he will call u on it and embarrass you. Show up, shut up, do the tests and you'll pass.

Professor Post is an intimidating professor but he is a very good professor, he explains well , very strict about his policies dont use your phone otherwise he will embarrass in front of everyone and after 15 minutes you are absent. Just show up to class, take not and dont ask stupid questions . You will be fine

The first impression of him was that he is a mean guy. as the semester progressed I've come to see he's not so bad, he's funny and very knowledgeable. He has a hard exterior but he does care.

He hates phones and will publicly embarrass you if he finds you using your phone during class. He gives you chances to talk to him about your essay (50% of your test grade), SO USE IT!! Don't miss class because you'll miss out a great part of your test! Participate!! Don't buy the textbook! You won't need it, trust me!! It doesn't help at all.

Professor Charles does not want to see phones out at all! If participating make sure to think twice because he would literally scream this is not H.S! And he doesn't like interruptions. He is very sarcastic. Speaks like he's always mad but he is a good person. Read the textbook and take notes as much as you can and learn as much and you are good!

His approach to sociology is historical and very Marxists. What I appreciated about this class was how knowledgable he is to tie in the development of human society with the economic conditions of the time. My biggest critique would have to be his approach, he is not the nicest fellow, and he is a tough grader, but lectures are super insightful.

i looked into those reviews after first class and o was terrified i literally wanted to drop, as the semester went on it turned out to be one of the best and most interesting classes ive taken, the professor seems tough at first, but he is actually very nice, as long as you listen and dont use ur phone ur good, he explains sociology really well
