His class is easy if you just show up and do the essays he assigns. He's very interesting and is full of knowledge.

This guy is the coolest teacher ever. He only asked for a couple of things and was really good at keeping the class interesting. He is always willing to help despite his busy schedule. If you have a chance take one of his classes you will not regret it.

The class is very interesting. All you have to do is show up and participate. You learn so much in one class about everything, and especialy the real world.

I love his class! He is very enthusiastic, full of energy and he gives a good wibes. He is very inteligent, smart and interesting person. I think there is no person who doesn't like him. Full of optimism!!!!!! I just love his personality.

Prof. Riley is one of the most awesome people I have ever met. He's so fascinating and so full of knowledge, you're guaranteed to walk out of his classes learning a lot.

you will learn more just from his stories than from most of your other classes combined. and he grades pretty easily, too.

If you can get in, by all means take him. Aside from an easy A, you will learn more with this guy than you've learned in all your courses put together. Has a lot of practical knowledge, from his career as a journalist for Fortune, and other publications. Plus, he's a GPA's savior.

This man is a genius...has such great stories to tell about life and the real world. I enjoyed his class very much and am planning on taking more classes of his. Such a great guy, extremely humorous and the best of all...an EASY A. He'll even tell you you're getting an A, but he doesn't want you to focus on the grade..it's about you learning.

Riley talks like he's on caffeine and can be a very subjective and bias professor. His classes are interesting but unless u are up his butt or u are an amazing writer he will not like you. Don't let his fakeness fool you. IF you are shy, don't take the class. He'll grade you against it.

Well, if you are not a good writer, what are you doing majoring/ minoring in journalism? He is not fake or biased at all! It is refreshing to have someone who voices their opinion and has a sense of humor. Always helpful even with works for other classes.

No books no exams, just 3 assignments that he tries his best to help you with. likes fast thinking and current events, then again it was a businessWriting class so you need to be anyway. Riley is the coolest teacher I ever had. Pay attention in class and participate. No homework. 3 papers. the first is 500 words, 2nd is 1000 words, 3rd is 2000 words. He took us outside to the park to write and stuff. I got an A, and i HATE writing.

Great professor. He keeps the class interesting from day one and always makes you laugh. No textbook used but he posts all class material on BBoard. This is possibly the first class I've had where the material is up-to-the-minute. Take him if you can and you'll be surprised at how fast the class and semester fly by.

Simply the best professor I had in Baruch, and that's saying a lot because I had some good ones. Extremely passionate person. Class is educating and entertaining. Just read newspapers in the morning, and you'll be ready for this class.

No argument this guy is the best professor to take! His class is very laid back and I feel it made me a more well rounded person. The whole class was discussion on topics such as the media, politics, business, architechture, art. Very interesting! No papers or tests!!!! If you say something that he finds interesting you will get an A! TAKE HIM!

He is hands down one of the best professors at baruch. Not only he is persoanable and sweet, but he teaches in a manner that is engaging and memorable. His class was one of those rare fun classes where you learn from discussions. It's always good to come to class prepared to talk because he remembers those who participate. YOU MUST TAKE HIM!

Simply one of the best at Baruch. The school is lucky to have this guy.. he's a friggin genius, plays hockey, write books, and is incredibly cool and nice. He's a wonderful professor but really hard to get. He's really helpful and he works with students one on one. He let's you work on your papers during class time. Overall he's a really great professor and I enjoyed going to class. He's very intelligent and insightful. He also helps you and doesn't make you feel bad. Highly Recommended!!!

This was an easy class. Not a lot of work. Attendance and participation is mandatory. A big portion of your grade is dependent on your attendance and participation. Got an A

I'm still taking this class, and I'm ALREADY certain I got an A (I'll come update at the end of the semester) but this guy is seriously changing my life, on a DAY-TO-DAY basis. When I graduate, this is someone I want to keep in contact with. Amazing teacher, amazing person. And dangit, class is just a BLAST! Haha..too awesome.

Although he does not expect his students to read before attending class, it is very helpful to do so. This makes it easier to have something insightful to say in class, which he loves. I made 2 "good" comments in class and that paved my way to an A.

I had him for 2 semesters straight. 2150 and 2800. Truly a memorable professor. I wish all teachers can be as dedicated as him. Riley is the definition of a jack-of-all-trades. He knows what he's talking about and he teaches me something new each class. His classes fill QUICK. BUT if you can, take him. It'll be the best decision of your life!

Most likely one of the best professors at Baruch. If you are lucky enough to get into one of 'old man Rileys' classes, take him! Anytime I needed a little extra help writing a paper he was always there. He is a great professor and a very passionate writer. Honestly you should not be in college if you can't pass his class.

very smart guy. the class is kind of fun but also kind of a waste of time. you don't necessarily LEARN anything, and are definitely not challenged, but it's english 2800... who cares? his class is easy and pretty fun. and he's a smart/interesting guy.

Friendly man with good intentions. Huge on grammar and attendance is important. He establishes a comfortable environment to give you a well-rounded knowledge on everything happening in the world. He's a bit disorganized but other than that, he is awesome. Definitely recommend!

His classes just fly by, and his door is always open. He's one of those professors that if you take the time to get to know will impact your life for years to come.

The most exciting, stimulating class in the whole college it is like ten classes in one. Riley rips through fiction (Hemingway, Fitzgerald), poems, art (Picasso), jazz even architecture and ballet and he knows and loves ALL of it. Unbelievable, this guy is a genius

the highlight of my college years, just being in the room with such a dynamic, connected, intellectual, funny and passionate teacher is inspiring EVERY SINGLE CLASS is exciting. Riley has a dazzling mind - he knows everybody (celebs, geniuses, billionaires, world leaders) and shares everything never holds back totally committed to you as student

Class is joke, you will not learn anything or do any work at all. He tells good stories and is a very smart and cultured man. He does his best to get you excited about the in class readings but it just comes off annoying. Most of the time there is no point in coming in but he does drop people sometimes for lack of attendance.

He is the BEST. I dont know whats wrong with the person who called a class a joke. Probably annoying individual who loves writing annoying papers. He makes class super interesting and you get a chance to say what you think and also listen what others have to say. I think thats how you understand more and make friends in class.

Hysterical and oh-so-witty Professor who will make you travel back to the Jazz Age through jazz music, Gatsby, and the greatest painters of the 20th century. You will learn so much about the beauty of the Jazz Age after that class.

The Jazz Age course was the most exciting intellectual experience of my whole college career, a completely brilliant weave of art, music and literature. Riley even invited some of the former students to his incredible party (at the home of the guy who is the real life model for Gordon Gekko) to celebrate the book he was writing, Free as Gods.
