He's new and a little confused and scatterbrained. But the tests are a breeze, with an optional final!!
He gives you a study guide for the test. The test is all multiple choice with only 3 options for answers. He explains things very well and gives numerous examples. He really wants you to do well. If you show up for class he really likes that too. Take him.
I hated him. He says " AHH " like 14million times each class period. Very unclear, has no idea what he is saying. Blabs about nothing

good prof
This class involves a lot more bio. then other psych classes. He gives 500 word answers instead of just one easy one. The reviews are wack and long and ask the same thing again and again. The test confuse. I read everything and went to class everyday and still got a C, so I guess it just has to be your thing
Easy class. He gives you a study guide about a week before the test that has almost all the things that are on the test on it. Easy to understand.
Dr. Schreiber is an amazing psychology teacher. He gives great notes and explains things VERY well. He also gives a study guide out before each test. The study guides have everything you need to know for the test on them. The tests are also very easy. They are all multiple choice with only 3 options. Taking the final is optional. Nice guy!
He is awesome, just a really nice guy. Lectures all hour, take the notes, memorize them, know vocabulary and you'll do well in the class. He is very throrough and always makes sure that everyone understands what he talking about. Take him for sure!
AWESOME AWESOME professor! He really knows his stuff and he is willing to answer ANY question you have!! If you take notes and pay attention there is NO WAY you can fail the course!!
Awesome professor! Good choice in textbooks, too. Posts lectures online, tests are very clearly worded, posts reviews online before tests, interesting lectures. Only bad thing: can move too slowly over information at times. Would take for EVERY class.
He was very interesting at first then throughout the course he lost me. He was confusing at time but used examples which hepled. He tests are ok, just know your stuff. However, I thought he was very rude when you go up to him one on one and ask him a question. He is very short and wasn't willing to answer my qustion!
Good class & good prof. I found him very helpful and easy to talk to whenever I asked questions after class. Maybe the person who thought he was rude needs to consider what the prof had to say about first impressions and about the fundamental attribution error! ;-)
Good Professor...Really cared about student's education, class goes at the pace of the students, very helpful, easy to approach outside of class, and easy to talk to overrall, tests are ok-gives you a study guide before and sets up a review day, if you have to take stats take it with him...
Puts all his notes online, what more do you want? You could get a B in this class while showing up only on test days if you review the notes. Very approachable and knowledgable, rarely uses the text, highly recommend his class if you're just looking for a general or if you're a psych major.
I find him very willing to help, but there's a lot of work! The paper explains your own research idea. If the last rater wrote what the prof told him, the prof did half the work for him. If the paper didn't explain the idea well, the grade would be low. How is that the prof's fault? Good class if you're interested in psychology. Bad if you're not.
Awesome professor. Very engaging lectures and makes everything very clear. Tests on a lot of things from lexture only and things only in the textbook so make sure to attend lecture and get the textbook. Offers and easy 18 points of extra credit. Very good introductory course to psych overall!
Very nice man, easy class, just take notes
Really nice guy that cares about his students but holds them to a higher standard than is normal. Statistics class material is not horribly exciting and he doesn't do it any favors, in other words don't make this your first class of the day.
STATS-Hard class.hard tests.was expecting not too hard of a class but test use a lot of critcal thinking.make sure to attend lectures and listen when he talks about why these stats are important and make connections between one stat and another.multiple choice on tests are pure critical thinking but listen and study notes before tests.. nice guy!!
Easy easy class. His lectures can be boring and drag on but can be helpful if you didn't understand something from the textbook. Tests are straightforward and easy. Final is cumulative but has questions from previous tests word for word. Study old tests, which he gives back to you, and it is a guaranteed A
It's a pretty good course, I paid attention at first but you don't really need to, just study the study guides before the test and you will at least get a B.
Professor Schreiber was a great professor. Lectures can get long because it is all powerpoint, but he explains everything really well and uses a lot of examples. He gives study guides for all the tests, do the study guide and you will get an A. The final is cumulative and most questions come right off the old tests. Great teacher.
He is very helpful if you have any questions on anything. BUT he doesn't give any direction on how to conduct experiments and grades papers without an explanation of the grading system. IF you're taking Experimental he is really good to have as a professor for the normal class but horrible for the lab.
The lecture part was fairly hard and a little dry, but I learned a lot. The lab was a LOT of work, but it was really great to get hands-on experience. In both, the professor was very helpful and seemed to really want everyone to do well.
Just does slideshows. Very dull class
Just does slideshows. Very dull class.
Did not like him as a teacher. All he does is read the slides and doesnt explain anything else. I would say not to go to class because everything is online. STUDY! thats all you can do to do good in this class. A lot of studying, from the book, slides, and what he says. 5 tests, no homework. So you have to do good on the tests. Boring class!
I find the material very interesting. The prof is clear and organized. I went to office hours once and he was super helpful. It's definitely a good idea to do the reading but the book's interesting. I've learned a lot in this class!
This is my favorite class!
The prof is clear and organized. The study guide for the whole semester was posted before the first class. I find the class interesting, but not everyone does. Some were clearly bored even during the video on lobotomies (scenes of brain surgery being done with ice picks!) So I guess it depends on your interests.
Dr. Schreiber is a great teacher! He only uses PowerPoints but explains everything thoroughly and puts all of his slides online. The questions on his exams are easy IF YOU READ AND DO THE STUDY GUIDE! All answers to the study guide are in the book!
Very helpful clear teacher. All notes are on the powerpoint which he puts up on D2L every time there is a new one. Attendance is never taken. Always on time with grading. No assignments, only test. Test are ok, just do the study guides and you'll get good grades.
Lectures were very boring, because it was just all power points. Didn't really like him, spoke in a monotone and wasnt interesting at all. What i liked about him was that grades were always posted the day after the test.
Took it my first semester. Hate classes like this where you listen and try to take notes. BORING. I like classes like HS where you watch videos and do stuff in class rather than listen to someone talk. I got a D. Don't take this class. If your like me, you won't like it. All tests but at least no HW.
Pretty easy class. I rarely attended class since their was little point. If you read the book and use his study notes all the answers are in the book anyways. Study notes were very helpful though. Not very hard to get an A if you read all the material before each test. No homework. Offers extra credit. Grades quickly. Overall average teacher.

recommend this class! no attendance required, 5 exams + 1 final. study the study guides and important terms from the book, save you returned exam papers. Final exams has many old questions, and also new questions from the last chapter...easy class!
He does not explain everything complete so when you go to the book for help and examples like he tells you to do they do it a whole different way.
First part of course was VERY easy, then it got harder and harder! The book was hard to follow, but the lectures were usually clear. The prof seemed to really want to help everyone understand, but this class isn't easy. Don't skip lectures. I never missed any, but I would have been totally lost if I had missed even one, especially toward the end.
His class is very structured and his lectures are presented in a powerpoint format. Take notes and pay attention during class, it's only 50mins! Has an odd sense of humor, but then again, all profs do? Good-hearted person. -He sticks to his syllabus, if you are even one point away from turning a B into an A you will recieve a B. =)
He is a great teacher and is very fair in his grading. He has a profound sense of humor which you either get or don't. Kinda creepy because he is practically blind but other then that he makes learning Psychological Science a breeze.
He was very easy. I barely ever went to class and still got an A. He gives you study guides for every test. If you follow them in the book the test are easy. I liked his lectures and he was a easy grader.
Good class, but very hard. I attended every lecture, read the book, did the study guide and extra credit. I'm still hoping for a B.
He makes class interesting.
I didnt like him at all, his tests are very hard, and if you have questions on the test..he wont give you a straight answer. Although, he was very organized and posted test scores quickly which is really nice. gives you study guides for all tests, and you definietly need to study them to do good. I study all the time for this class, its hard though
I don't know why he doesn't have higher reviews. I found this class very interesting. You have to work hard for an A, but as long as you pay attention in class and read the book it shouldn't be too difficult. If you spend the whole class period on facebook then yes, I imagine it would be difficult to get a good grade.
Very knowledgeable and helpful. Does a great job of keeping class interesting. Highly recommended!
I really liked Dr. Schreiber! At first, I was nervous about taking his course because of his reviews, but I do not regret taking him! You learn sooo much in his class and he makes things interesting! He also offers a study guide that tells you everything that will be on the exam! Just go to class, take good notes, study and you will do fine!
Dr. Schreiber is a good teacher but his classes are boring. There are no quizzes, your only grades come from tests. He gives study guides for these but tests are hard and his class gets monotonous because you never do anything besides lecture and notes. I wouldn't take him again.
Psych 210 is a great class. Prof. Schreiber is awesome! He makes funny (and corny) jokes but they make class fun. He is very clear during lecture. There is 5 exams which are cumulative throughout the semester which will help you on the cumulative final. There is a study guide on D2L for each exam. He also gives a great amount of extra credit (30 points) if you put a little work in outside of class. This is a really great class.
most interesting class I've ever taken
Great professor! You'll need to work for your grade but as long as you pay attention in class, read the text, and complete the study guides he provides, you will be fine. Grade is based on 5 exams and 1 cumulative final. Extra credit is offered. Overall great course. Schreiber really knows what he's teaching and wants his students to learn.
Hard to follow some of his lectures. He does not provide powerpoints or outlines. Only thing to help is past exams and study guides. Claims to have the students best interest in mind, but I beg to differ. "You get an A if you earn an A." is what he says what he means is "You get an A if I think you deserve an A."
This class is not difficult. If you read the chapters, use his study guides, and review your past exams, which he gives you the exam key to, you couldn't possibly fail this class. Attendance isn't mandatory, but his tests cover both lecture and book. Also, he provides a ton of extra credit points.
It was straightforward and often interesting. It's upper division & seemed like a course for grow ups not high school. Although the study guide questions were very helpful, he seemed to take for granted that you would do the reading, show up for class, take notes during lecture, & ask questions. Pretty much what I expect from a Jr/Sr level course.
This class has 4-5 exams with a cumulative final. Go to class and take good notes! Make sure you do the study guides and any extra credit you can. STUDY for the exams. Use past exams to help you study for the final because they are basically the same questions.
He is not helpful when you ask questions unless you come during office hours. However, his tests are not that hard if you put in effort and study. I enjoyed his class.
Professor Schreiber is great. His tests are pretty easy, as long as you dedicate a decent amount of time to the book and study guide. He gives literally no homework, except 20 surveys, 1 e.c. that take 5 mins tops. Some topics are only in the textbook, though. 4 tests (3 with a TON of e.c.), 21 surveys, 1 final. That's all. I'd recommend him.
Dr. Schreiber is a good professor. There are only 5 cumulative exams including the final (they are not hard if you study well), 21 surveys (1 being bonus), and a variety of chances for extra credit (he offers up to 30 points) and bonus points on exams. Take notes every class and complete the study guides. Textbooks are very necessary.
I passed PSY210 with more than 100%. If you read the textbook and use the materials he gives you, the tests are easy. He offers a lot of extra credit too if your scores aren't that great. The 50 minute classes are easy to get through. It's all lecture. No homework or group projects. 4 tests. 1 accumulative final.
He has reading assignments that will have questions on the test, but he doesn't cover the textbook sections in class. If you want to get an A in the course, showing up to class is mandatory. He knows the material very well and is able to answer any question you have, or if he doesn't personally know the answer he can send you in the right direction
Loved Psych 210 with Schreiber. If you make flash cards and understand the study guide you should be dropping at least 90's on every exam. Show up to class and studying for exams will be way easier. I would recommend printing the power points out before class and add on additional notes on the sides.
If you are willing to put in the work and do the study guides and read the textbook (the chapters are nice and short) I don't see why you would not get an A in this class. Review old test as he uses old questions (test are cumulative) . There is a ton of extra credit so take the time and take advantage of it!
Schreiber is a nice guy but I found that the tests were not aligned with the study guides. Very difficult course that you will need to dedicate an ungodly amount of hours to.
Grade is dependent on the 5 exams. They're pretty tough but if you do the study guides and read the book, you'll do okay. Lectures are pretty dry and long. There's up to 60 point of extra credit and it saved my grade.
Long reading test. Not enough time to think in period. Must be quick reader
Great guy. However I found the structure of his class to be somewhat out dated. Very old school. He does not allow any electronics in class and this forces you to take every note by hand. His lectures are so boring and long. 50 minutes seemed like 5 hours. I would avoid if possible.
Challenging class. Learned a lot! Gave me a lot to think about. I liked the laptop rule -- prof said he stopped allowing them during class recently when psychologists found out they are bad for learning. Tough class but worth it.
All of his classes are lectures and he speaks in mono tone the whole time. You really need to know the vocabulary or you won't pass. He gives two chances for extra credit and there is surveys every week. The surveys are nice because they are easy points other than the surveys there is only tests he grades.
I had to work hard in this class, but in the end I did pretty well. I think I learned a lot.
I didn't mind the lectures personally. Some thought they were dreadful but they were actually pretty interesting and in PSY210 you learn study tips that actually helped in my other classes. Going to class is mandatory for an A and if you do the study guides it's a pretty easy class.
Professor Schreiber is really intelligent. Lectures can sometimes be a little bit boring, but he is really good at explaining the content. Use the study guides that he provides!! Homework consists of simple surveys once a week. He offers a lot of extra credit! Read the textbook--a lot of the information on the test is from the book.
Tons of reading and long lecture, but genuinely interesting. The types of studies he explains throughout psych are extremely interesting. A bit opinionated about his material. Responds to emails super quick and puts in grades the same day you took the test. The guy knows what he is doing.
He is a great professor who wants his students to succeed and gives a lot of opportunity to do so. Has great study tips. Use his study guides and take notes during lecture, stories from class that are not in the textbook are also on the exams. Very knowledgeable and gets grades in super quickly!
He is a great professor. Gives you a study guide with everything that will be on the exams. If you go to class and pay attention it is very easy to get an A. Also he allows you do get 30 easy points of extra credit so take advantage of that!
He's a wonderful professor; clear helpful, and allows extra credit. I would recommend if you don't like doing work, or have a tendency to turn it in late, don't take Schreiber.
Super nice and basically gives you everything that is on the tests.
He is a very boring professor, but it is not a difficult class. There are better professors out there, so if you can I would keep looking. His tests are all cumulative but he gives you study guides. The study guides are long and very repetitive like his lectures. Reading the book is important because he does test from the book and lecture.
Did not like him at all. Very unclear with his teaching and what he puts on his tests. Was very particular with what he put on there and was into the small details. Lots of reading outside of class and dont recommend unless you have time to do it and put effort.
Class topics were usually interesting and sometimes even really useful. But it's the hardest class I have ever had. The study guide saved me. Do the reading and don't miss class. Homework is quick and easy and helps your grade. There's also a lot of bonus and extra-credit points. Professor is really helpful at office horus.
Incredibly easy class if you just show up and study straight from the study guide. Assignments are just surveys and the answers don't even matter.
One of my least favorite professors at WSU. All he does is lecture and test. His lectures are long & very boring, and his tests are very hard. You absolutely need to read the textbook to do okay on the tests. If class is suppose to end at 8:50, he will keep talking 5 mins after class was suppose to end. 1 positive is he offers lots of extra credit.
I had Schreiber for an intro level class and I wish I would've looked here first before taking him. His lectures are very long and very boring. If anyone has a comment or question during class, he makes them feel like an idiot for asking. The "homework" assignments are basically surveys and did nothing to help my grade at all. Do not recommend
This was my favorite class last year. The lectures were usually about interesting topics.
he repeats himself a lot during lecture, but the things he repeats are important.
Nearly nothing from his lectures are on the exams, so be prepared to read the textbook and be very thorough while reading. Look up other readings for the topics, because he throws in random questions and information not in the lectures or textbook. Follow the study guide, if you do not do the study guide questions, you will fail.
I had Dr. Schrieber as an 8:00 am class and i found his lectures so boring i fell asleep a lot. and i felt bad but it also got in the way of me learning because i would lose focus during lectures go to read the book and nothing matches at all what he says, and then the tests don't feature anything on either the lecture, or the book.
He is one of those professors who is old school, it's not a bad thing necessarily but just be prepared. His lectures are him basically reading off of a slide and which gets old, fast. He exams are pretty hard, he gives you a study guide but most of the test questions are based out of the book. I would keep looking for a professor but not awful.
The lectures are nothing fancy, but they are pretty straightforward and clear. The topics are interesting. The study guide is super helpful. Everything on the tests is covered there. Reading the text is important. About 10% of the exam questions are on topics only covered in the book. It's a hard class, but the professor is very helpful.
Idk why this prof is getting bad reviews. His lectures are super boring, but he genuinely wants students to learn. He gives you a study guide the first week, and it is super long. If you do the study guide you will get an A. This class was not my favorite, but there is virtually nothing to do but go to class. No presentations, no group work, easy.
Slides are a good test review, but solely depending on it is not a good idea.
Great professor! His lectures are extremely clear, there isn't a lot of homework, just one a week. However, show up to class if you want to pass, the majority of his test questions are from his lectures, only about 5 or so are from the textbook. Overall, great class.
Honestly, lectures were boring and I would nap during them, but his grading is super clear. Homework is weekly surveys that take 10 mins tops and most of them only take 2 minutes. There are 4 exams and then a final. He has this study guide with every possible test question. I never even looked at textbook and passed final w/o studying. EC given too
This class taught me how to be a better college student! I'm glad I took it. Lots to know, tests were kind of hard, but I'm still glad I took the class.
Managed to make 8am cognitive psych interesting. He can be picky about things, so I just nod and agree with everything he says.
Dr. Schreiber is not the best professor and is quite dull; however, he is fair and lets you know exactly what will be on the test. You gotta read the book to get an A in the class
4 tests + final exam. Every test has a bonus reading section in the textbook that is super easy to get lots of extra credit points! He gives the semester review packet at the beginning of semester. I recommend attending class but it really isn't necessary, he posts his lecture slides and gets almost all test questions from there or the book.
His lectures can sometimes get boring, but in those lectures he gives you so many examples of things and really explains material well. His tests are long, but as long as you show up for class and do the readings you'll do well. Lots of extra credit/bonus given. Made me love psychology! Great professor!
Lectures can be very boring, but it's helpful to go to class. He uses lots of examples and stories to help explain certain concepts and he will normally have exam questions on those stories. He has bonus items on every exam, extra credit opportunities, & a study guide for the entire semester. Grades: 4 exams 60%, Final 30%, Homework 10%
You definitely need to study hard for Schreiber's exams. He includes questions about things mentioned exclusively in the book, so make sure to read. He knows what he's talking about. I didn't find his lectures boring, but if you don't have a genuine interest in psychology you might not like class.
Dr. Schreiber was good at providing examples for the concepts he describes. His class is test-heavy but he does provide a study guide.
He makes the material super easy to understand and if you take notes in class and read the textbook you will do fine. Even if you don't do good on tests there are 50 points of extra credit material not including bonus questions on the test. Makes the material easy to understand as well with a lot of studies and extra information that helps.
No one is perfect, but it is clear that he tries and genuinely care about his students. See him during office hours a real plus. Hard tests so do not skip class. Also, read the book!,,
this class is extremely lecture heavy and he sometimes rambles about one thing for an entire hour. the only things graded in this class were the test so you NEED to do good on them which is very hard if you dont go to class or read the textbook. overall good prof but more than just tests should go towards your grade
I thought the topics were usually interesting, but the tests were hard. But the extra credit papers pulled me up from a B to an A. The previous reviewer is correct, if you don't go to class and don't read the book it's hard to get a good grade. But isn't that how college is supposed to be?'
Puts a ton of emphasis on lectures so try not to miss his classes if you can. His extra credit papers saved me and bumped my grade up. The only things graded besides the ExC are the tests.
